How about Metallica? "Devil's Dance", "Fuel", "The Unforgiven", "Enter Sandman".....Maybe even add "Ain't My Bitch" for the Demona/Macbeth relationship...

Okay, I'm being silly. I guess I can't complain, cause I can't think of any songs myself. It's just that I'm not a big Meatloaf fan. But he was good in the Rocky Horror Picture Show (which has that guy who sounds just like my pop!)

I haven't liked the series so far... and I'm not sure what to say now. I admit, humanity and gargoyles have their dark sides... but what about hope? What about optimism?
Anime knew when to break tense moments with humor. Right now, when I read Gargoyles - the continuing saga (Sorry, I haven't read the other series) I feel I need to wash my hands and my soul.

Observation:

This probably struck all of you ages ago. I sort of knew before, it just never really struck me as such:

In WW2, the Brits and the Americans fought the Germans.
As it currently looks to be, the Unseelie war will be fought by Arthur and the Manhattan Clan against Madoc and crew.

More similarities? Avalon/France- especially if Avalon at any stage is taken over by Madoc.

Also, the Brits/Arthur get into it before the gargoyles. At least, the gargs were pawns and observers. It's Merlin and Arthur who have a real part to play in everything as far as I can see. So the Manhattan Clan (or Americans) are late arrivals.

Is that intentional (surely it must be to an extent). And if it is, what other parallels might be pulled up in the future? (I'm wondering about the Japs…)

Hm...

**Coyote enters the room escorted by a light blue, cybernetic gargoyle.**

My bodyguard here is just to make sure everything stays under control. It's not easy keeping 42 characters from ripping each other apart!

Sevarius Jr.: If you can think of any better songs, I'd like to hear it, as long as you can justify using them with the lyrics (that was what I was doing with every one of my suggestions except "Everything Louder than Everything Else"). I'd never suggest Bolton or Benetar ... they make me hurl ...

Seriously. If you can justify their use with an sample of the lyrics, go ahead and tell me what your songs are.

**Coyote leaves, followed by the cyborg. Sounds of conflict are soon heard from the outside, as Coyote is heard yelling "DON'T MAKE MR. CARTER GO POSTAL!!"**

okay, I have a friend online that only saw the first season of the show, and none of the second. Could there be anyplace that has scripts?? I don't think there is, and I thought that it would be a cool project for TGS to go and put the episodes in the same format as TGS stories are in, you know, for anyone who might of missed an episode or for anyone who hasn't seen any of them.....could this be done??

Before everyone behind me starts rumbling, I thought I'd add my two cents in this soundtrack conversation. (After all, I've not been able to say anything for the last three days.)

Gargoyle sountrack: I can think of some other songs/singers who would be good for a pop soundtrack to TGS (probably.). Although I do agree that Queen is pretty good. Here's my thinking:

Howzabout a collection of different artists? I already have some suggestions for you (BTW, most of these are Meat Loaf, so I'm a little biased, since I have three of his four albums and am trying to find a way to get "Dead Ringer.").

For "Timedancer," as a romantic theme for Brooklyn and Sata: "Lost Boys and Golden Girls" (Meat Loaf, "Bat Out of Hell 2"). It's a slow ballad, and the lyrics seem fitting (check the 2nd verse: "It doesn't matter where they're going/Or wherever they've been/'Cause they got one thing in common it's true/They'll never let a night like tonight go to waste/And let me tell you something/Neither will you/Neither will you").

For "Gargoyles," to emphasize Goliath and Elisa's relationship, a pair of songs: "Where Angels Sing" (Meat Loaf, "Welcome to the Neighborhood") and "Uninvited" (Alanis Morrisette (sp?), "City of Angels" sdtrk). Both songs have interesting viewpoints: the first probably from Goliath's POV ("Where time means nothing/No hustle, no one rushing/No dark of night/No hate or spite/No wrong or right/No day or night"), the other from Elisa's ("Like any hot-blooded woman/I am flattered by your fascination with me").

A theme song for the Trio: "Everything Louder than Everything Else" (Meat Loaf, "Bat Out of Hell 2"). This song is just ... an anthem for "wasted youth," and while I doubt they'd call it a wasted youth, it just seems right for them.

A more intense one for Goliath: "Bat Out of Hell" (Meat Loaf, "Bat Out of Hell" (natch)). Does this sound familiar: "Like a bat out of hell/I'll be gone when the morning comes/When the night is over/Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone, gone gone/Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes/But when the day is done/And the sun goes down/And the moonlight's shining through/Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven/I'll come crawling on back to you" Okay, the "bat out of hell" stuff would probably make a good Quarrymen propaganda slogan, but the feel of the song itself would be a good one.

That's all I have to say about it. If anybody has any better songs to use, I'd love to hear the suggestions.

**Coyote begins to walk out. Rosanna, in the next room, yells "Aren't you forgetting something?" Coyote's face lights up, turning back around and seeing the 40 characters that followed him into the room beginning a brawl.**

THAT'S ENOUGH OF THAT!! ... sorry, it's hard to keep them under control. Anyway, these 40 characters are the current recruits for "When Clans Collide!" Click on my name below for more info. Excuse me, now, I have to get the elephant tranquilizers.

**At the mention of "tranquilizers," the 40 characters stampede out of the room. Coyote smirks.**

That'll put the fear of God into 'em! Anyway, thanks, Starsinger, for suggesting I post the above short message.**Leaves**

Laudre and Queen music: For most of the songs, I was merely going for the title. As for Who wants to live forever, I was imagineing Demona and MacBeth after thier mates died in Requiem, and them remembering the loves they had in the past 1000 years.
Princes: Well... The children of Oberon are immortal. And they were out for a thousand years... but then again, so where Demona and MacBeth. Come to think about it, they do want each others heads...

Sevarius Jr> Yes, I'm a huge fan of Babylon 5. I've seen most of the episodes and am now taping all of them since TNT is airing them in order. The show has a lot of the qualities that I loved about Gargoyles. The literature references, the consistent story telling, the cool aliens (especially the Vorlons and the Shadows), the John Sheridan/Delenn romance reminds me of Goliath and Elisa, Centauri Emperor Cartagia reminded me of Roman Emperor: Caligula and Nero, the cool villains: Bester, Morden, Evil Kosh, the Drakh, The characters change and grow like on Gargoyles, the fact that Jack the Ripper showed up once as a Vorlon Inquisiter reminds me of how Greg Weisman brought in Macbeth.

Well enough of my rambling.

Queen music> Interestingly enough, about half of the songs listed are from "A Kind of Magic", which was intended to be the soundtrack for the film "Highlander", except that it did poorly as such in Europe and so was released as a Queen album instead, without the Highlander tie-in. "Hammer to Fall" isn't on A Kind of Magic, but it is in the film.

"Who Wants to Live Forever"> Ehhh... Demona and Macbeth? I dunno. It's a love song, and in the film it's the love theme for Connor and Heather (as the song plays, we see Heather growing old while Connor remains the same; the scene brings tears to the eyes of this romantic whenever I watch it).

"Princes of the Universe"> NO. UH UH. This is the theme for Highlander Immortals. PERIOD. Forget those pansy-ass Children of Oberon. Cold steel and angst is where it's at, baby.

Do you all remember when TGS Season One came out, at the TGS site, a list of the episode names for TGS:G were accidentally posted.

I was wondering, wouldn't it be a good idea to do something like that again? It's not actually spoiling any of the details of any of the stories, and it does stir up curiousity about what the episode could be about.

<<Lisa: That's what you get for bad-mouthing Brooklyn!! I think we both know that he would never do drugs or listen to Manson, let alone be him. >>
Actually, the way that Tge Goliath Chronicles were going, I thought that having a drug episode with Brooklyn was going to be a sure thing! I was actually surprised that they DIDN'T have a episode like that. The closest they had to that topic was "runaways". I thought he may think 'to be, or not to be' or even start drugs. Hell, the way he was in TGC and the start of TGS, I saw how our favorite reg gargoyle could turn gay! (That's one of my fan-fic) Given, the way he was in TGS, he would NEVER have done any of that. (Sanity is in the eye of the beholder. I have beheld nothing.)

IA: I have it on tape, but I really haven't watched it yet. From what I have seen, I have one thing to say about the computer graphics: COME ON! SPEND A LITTLE MONEY! I mean, I was doing that level of rendering my first WEEK with 3d Studio! If you can make a spaceship that is CG AND looks real, then you can make a spaceship that looked a LITTLE better than that one! And they blended the CG and standard animation SO poorly!
Maybe that was just me, thought. Anyone else see that?

Anyone in here Queen fans? Has anyone else noticed how well Queen's songs fit into Gargoyles?
Who wants to live forever (Demona and MacBeth)
Hammer to Fall (Guess)
I want it all (Xanatos)
I want to break free (Who was stoned for 1000 years?)
Princes of the Universe (Listen to the lyrics)
A kind of Magic
Stone Cold Crazy (ColdStone's crazy)
And as a tribute to Christine Morgan's own fanfic:
Tie Your Mother Down (Jerrico and Demona ;)

Oh yeah.. when I listen to One Vision, I see the song as the story and theme of Star Trek's Borg.

Now that I have recovered from my "tonuge lashing", and had time to think.., let me fully respond to you Lisa. heh heh
<<Brooklyn is not as irresponsible as he seems..>>
I never thought he was "irresponsible". Just cool!
<<I've listened to his music, and (MPO) I do not think any creature that stands for nobility, goodness, and law (like most gargoyles) would enjoy it or the kind of person Manson projects himself as, ie someone very twisted, evil, and mentally disturbed.>>
Music is Music (MPO). If Brooklyn can listen to Smashing Pumpkins {Equality}, what's wrong with Manson, as far as I can see nothing. I'm not defending the "All American AntiChrist", I'm also not sayin his music is ok, but are you saying, since Demona doesn't stand for that "crap", she's like, "I really enjoyed that Manson concert last night".... I think not.
<<He's also a gargoyle, a responsible friend, husband, and father of two.>>
Well, I'm all of those, except for the gargoyle part.., I'm not gonna lie, I listen to Manson, Tupac, Celine Deion *suddenly turns to Sevarius Jr., NOT the Titanic*, Selena.. and the list goes on.., if it sounds good, I'm gonna rock it, ya know. I "turn up the bottle" sometimes.., as a matter of fact my mate told me to get drunk more often! Only when I'm sober, do I get mad. Does this make me a bad person? I do what I need to do, then I relax...
<<our favorite red, beaked, and horned garg>>
Oh, "horned", I misread that.., nevermind!
<<I might have to tell Sata what you're suggesting about her mate>>
Heh, Sata. Sata loves me too much to hurt me!
<<..would someone as rebellious as Brooklyn support someone as conservative as the Pope?>>
Brooklyn... rebellious? Brooklyn... COOL!
<<Would he be dumb enough to smoke or take drugs? >>
No, but he'd look cool doin it!
<<Forgive me, man, but if I saw Brooklyn doing that, I'd think, God, who zapped him with the stupidity ray? I mean, not even Brooklyn could look good doing that. You're overrating his image way too much, my friend>>
*Sigh* Yall just don't have unconditional love for Brooklyn like I do. (Don't take that wrong, I'm straight). It seems my level of love, just can't be understood.
*Gives a classic Xanatos "Hmmm"*
You're cool Brooklyn! You can do anything, say anything, and I'll think it's cool! You can lead me to my untimely death, even that would be cool!
<<If I ever saw Brooklyn with his thumb up his nose singing "I'm a little teapot", I would laugh my ass off for the better part of a week.>>

Lisa, not to start something, but I think it's pretty hypocritical that you're talking about how honorable the Gargoyles are, and then you call the Pope "that idiot from the Vatican." How honorable is it to slam another's religion? Hate to be p.c. here, but please, leave religion and politics out of the comment room. To easy for guys like me to get pissed off.

As for Brooklyn's music tastes, I picture him listening to anything hard or metal. Maybe not Manson, but probably Metallica or Van Halen. I doubt he'd be groovin to that silly Titanic song from Celine Dion. (No offense to any Titanic lovers, but I've heard so much about that freakin' movie that the next time someone says "Titanic is the best movie ever!" I'm gonna have to mutate them into something unpleasant.)

Invasion America? The whole show looks like a poor man's Star Wars. Try to pick out the similarities, they're everywhere. The sad thing is, it's better than at least 90% of the other programming out there (sad cause why can't they make their regular shows this good?) They should definitely bring it back for next season.

Jackal: If I ever saw Brooklyn with his thumb up his nose singing "I'm a little teapot", I would laugh my ass off for the better part of a week. And Tupac rules too.

Uh, did you say you wanted fudge or coffee ice cream? Well, coffee is what you got. Heh heh heh.
Here's what I have to say this time:
Jackal: **OK, here's an example.....
Image Brooklyn with his thumb up his nose, sayin I'm a little tea pot, repeatedly..., Brooklyn is the only one who can make that cool! See?**
Forgive me, man, but if I saw Brooklyn doing that, I'd think, God, who zapped him with the stupidity ray? I mean, not even Brooklyn could look good doing that. You're overrating his image way too much, my friend. I'd say more on this, but Lisa's already said it better than I could. Hope you listened to her.
This is a shameless plug, but could I ask everyone who reads this a big favor? Recently the WB network showed an excellent animated drama called Invasion America. The critics raved about it in a good way, it has thousands of fans, an excellent plot and characters, dynamic action, great dialogue and animation, etc. Now, it's the end of the show's first season and I've heard rumors that WB is thinking of not renewing this show despite the many great things about it and lots of fans who love it. Sound familiar? Didn't a similar thing happen to our favorite cartoon show, Gargoyles? If anyone here has seen IA, loved it, and would like WB to bring us more of it, please e-mail them or post a message on their suggestion board that they keep the show. The IA Support Page at http://cloudcity.simplenet.com/invasion/support.html will tell you where you need to go, what to do to get WB to keep this excellent cartoon show on the air, etc. Lisa, myself, and all our friends have already posted messages on WB's suggestion board and e-mailed them asking to keep IA on for more seasons. If you know of the show, and feel something like the way we do about it, please do the same. I do not want another most excellent animated drama to go the way of Gargoyles (the TGS and fanfic form(s) of Gargs are great, but I know a lot of people who wished it was still on TV with new episodes, as well as all that), and I'm sure all of you out there don't want it to happen either. So please, send your e-mails, post your messages, exert some fan power, and let's not let John Q. TV Network Executive (or whatever the head WB people's names are) repeat the mistakes Disney made when it did something similar to what the rumors say WB is thinking of doing. Please help! We fans may be the only chance this great show has of getting to stick around. Thank you.
(Doug bows, then notices George getting up and getting that extremely angry look in his eyes. (Lisa glides down, picking up Jackal in a sweeping dive. She then flies over the fountain and drops him in. Her fellow garg-fan climbs out soaking wet and asks what that was for. Lisa lands beside Jackal, hands him a towel, and says the following.)
That's what you get for bad-mouthing Brooklyn!! I think we both know that he would never do drugs or listen to Manson, let alone be him. That is SO unlike our favorite beaked gargoyle bad boy!! I think you've overestimated the image he tries to project. Brooklyn still has lots of common sense behind that rebellious exterior, and if you'll look at how he acts in Gargoyles and TGS, it's obvious that he uses it! Brooklyn is not as irresponsible as he seems, in fact the wisdom, willingness to take and use responsibility, and common sense under that image he projects are very important parts of his character. Without them, he would never have become Goliath's Second, Sata would never have fallen for him, and he never would have gotten out of the TimeDancer events alive. Brooklyn is not all bad boy, he just tries to project that image because it's a part of his character. So is his sense of responsibility and wisdom. The Brooklyn we all know and love would never do something so unwise as get involved with drugs. As for Manson, well, I've listened to his music, and (MPO) I do not think any creature that stands for nobility, goodness, and law (like most gargoyles) would enjoy it or the kind of person Manson projects himself as, ie someone very twisted, evil, and mentally disturbed. They would probably abhor it, as I do. Now that's just my personal opinion, not necessarily the truth, but I think Brooklyn would follow the same mindset. Sure he's a bad boy, but that's not all his character. He's also a gargoyle, a responsible friend, husband, and father of two. Please remember that next time you decide to make a rash character analysis of our favorite red, beaked, and horned garg, okay? If you don't, I might have to tell Sata what you're suggesting about her mate. I guarentee she would not be amused. Also, I don't think Brooklyn could make anything look cool just by doing it. I think some of the terrible things you mentioned him doing would ruin his image in the eyes of his adoring fans (ie us). Smoking, drinking, doing drugs, standing beside that idiot from the Vatican or Manson, ugh. I think it'd be against Brooklyn's character to do any of those things. He's a rebel, but not completely. And if he did do those things, well, the smart people would give up on Brooklyn as a favorite character because they don't think those things are cool. And the really smart ones would refuse to believe Brooklyn did them because they're, you know, not things a being of his character would do. I mean, come on, think about it, would someone as rebellious as Brooklyn support someone as conservative as the Pope? Would he be dumb enough to smoke or take drugs? Would he like Manson? I don't think so!! Oh well, enough said about that topic. On to other things.
Spike: Exactly where and when will that concert occur? If it's close enough to Austin and we're not doing anything that night, Doug and I might want to go. Chicago is one of our favorite muscian groups, along with U2, Sting, Counting Crows, the Rolling Stones, Duncan Sheik, Oasis, Sarah MacLachlan, and Genesis. Thank you for putting the tickets on the market.
Favorite eps: Hmm, this is hard for me to decide. The TGS staff made so many good ones. Oh well, here's what I think were the all-time best:
Gargoyles: Reprisals Part 3, and Consequences. The character moments for Lex, George, Richard, and Madoc in those were just too good to miss, and the plots were excellent. Hope to see more of Lex's inner conflicts (Liz could help him through those, I bet. She makes a great friend for him! *hint hint*) and the Harrison brothers in Season 2.
Pendragon: The Goddess of Winter eps. I agree with Airwalker about what they did with Morgana. She actually seemed like more of a real person and not just some generic menacing sorceress after TGS got through with her. The Watching Eye was good, too. I like Jennifer. So was Into the Woods. I'm glad Griff has a mate, but think she belongs at his side fighting the Unseelie, not hiding in the woods with her clan. Why doesn't she join her mate on his next quest? Her wisdom and fighting abilities would certainly be great assets.
TimeDancer: The Promise. I liked how they did the marriage of Brooklyn and Sata, as well as the final defeat of Ganryu and the going good of the Tengu clan. That episode tops all the others for plot and character development, I think.
Dark Ages: The Coming of Age eps. Roland and Asrial just steal the show, period. Plot and character development were excellent in that one, too. And the Alliances eps were also excellent in terms of plot and character moments for Deborah and Hudson. Like lots of TGS fans, I miss Broadway's mom. Oh well.
In all the eps, though, you people in the TGS staff did a great job! Keep up the good work!!

AotN: Mardi Gras is a time when anyone or anything can walk the streets. If you want to go as a gargoyle, go right ahead. That's what I want to do if I figure out how to keep a tail on while in the crowds. :)

This was a while back, but I have to let ideas simmer in my subconcious before an answer comes out. Someone said that the character Robbie would probably grow up to become the Captain of the Guard in Dark Ages. But "Vows", "Long Way to Morning", and "Awakenings" all have the same Captain of the Guard (the big guy with the mustaches, betrayed Castle Wyvern to the Vicking, etc.) despite the thirty years covered. That's why I though the Captain in Dark Ages is the same as the Captain in Awakenings. Or am I just way off-base?

Also, I was rearranging some of my old junk and found an advertisement for some Gargoyles trading cards. I meant to bring the magazine with me to the computer but forgot. This was probably back in 1991 or 1992, and I don't remember what company put the cards out. But they were cards made for this trading set, not just cells from the cartoons pasted on cardboard. I'm probably explaining this really badly :) but does anyone know what I'm talking about?

:::sighs, and slips the current copies of AOL into the "recycle bin"::: Well, that settles THAT, I guess. As of 10:00am yesterday morning, I officially got screwed over. No biggie.

Ok, for those of you with AOL, you *can* get ahold of me either by AOL Instant Messenger (Yes, I got a copy weeks ago, before the membership for that went on the fritz.) Those of you with AOL or Instant Messenger, I can be paged at AIM handle (perhaps soon to be master screenname of new AOL account in the future..) "OptimusRP".

Now. My favorite episodes? Well, I've YET to read any of Dark Ages, so I cannot give an honest opinion of that. For Pendragon, it had to be "The Ill-Made Knight" trilogy. Oh, yeah, and the final episode of the season, "Quest's End". For TGS, my two favorites were "Equality", and the "Reprisals" trilogy. Poor Lexington. And for Timedancer... dammit, you've got me stuck! They're *all* exceptionally good. Well, for a much-needed laugh after a bad day I had recently, "Fleeting Encounters", was just what I needed. And "Requiem" (I've read a Star Trek novel by Pocket Books, with that name. The Next Generation, I think that was, where Picard went on an accidental visit to the time when Captain Kirk battled the Gorn captain...) was just... mind-blowing. I hope it turns out MacBeth and Demona didn't die. Of course, that wouldn't be a good plot twist, if they managed to survive. Sadly, they're probably quite dead.

Ok, I think that's about it. Still no big update on my story idea, and since it's right now just me writing, it'll take a bit longer than the TGS people have done. Besides, I've got a lot on my plate, right about now. New cable-access tv show in planning and development, and there's DSFC stuff I have to do, AND a new TransFormers sim to run, even though I don't have AOL anymore. Have to try and run things between a loaner screenname soon to be created on a friend's account, my AIM handle, and mIRC. Yuck. Well, that's enough from me, for now. Time to begin my journey into the Dark Ages, both literary, and technologicly.

I was thinkin..., Brooklyn, he's just soo cool. In "Awakenings", he sounded like the sweetest, kindest "person" in the world. (Except when he was actin bad, ya know... Where's the Disk?) In "Future Tense" he sounded like he been thur Hell, but he still had that level of coolness. He's just so damn cool! I betcha he can do anything, and make it cool... Smoking, just image it..., drinking..., smokin weed..., homicidal rampage.., wearing a dunce cap..., standing beside Marilyn Manson..., standing beside the Pope..., being Marilyn Manson.., holding a Hanson CD.., holding a John Tesh CD..., holding a "Funky sounds of the 70's CD (complete with afro)..., beating Joe Camel's butt..., holding a crack pipe..., being a crack pipe..,
Hmmm, what would sound good being said by Brooklyn...
"Rosy Palmer?" "Can I stick that back in there?"
"Umm, kinda gooey." "Hanson rocks." "The Pope rocks."
"I smoke rocks." "There's a rock in down there." "Did you swallow that?" (All dumb phrases that would sound good being said by Brooklyn). Note: these phrases apply only what you mind thinks.., for all you know the frist 3 statements could have been talkin about makin a peanut butter sandwich.

When the new season of the Pendragon series begins I would like it if Griff has flashbacks of his past life. Like in the 1920's and 1930's, or even before then. Also when the new season starts I would like to see the Scottish clan again. Maybe Griff and Arthur can find another clan in London or somewere else. Also I would like it if the writers could put
Una, Leo, and there 2 kids in alot more of the stories.

AIRWALKER - Well, as the old saying goes, if we tell you what happened to Demona and Macbeth at the end of "Requiem", we'd then have to kill you - and you wouldn't want that now, would you?

As for "Pendragon" - the heavy dosage of flashbacks at the beginning was a mistake, I agree. I'll say this to you - if I were to have redone the first season, I'd have dropped many of the flashbacks out (particularly the ones in "The Goddess of Springtime" and "The Ill-Made Knight"), and spaced out the ones in "The Last Enchantment" and "The Goddess of Winter" much more carefully. In particular, I now feel that we let the cat out of the bag about Merlin's parentage too early - ideally, we should have only let the readers know that Merlin's father was an evil fay (as opposed to the actual identity of him as Madoc Morfryn/Nicholas Maddox) late in the first season. Well, too late for that now.

The reason for the "flashback overabundance" was that the original head of "Pendragon" had wanted "Pendragon" to be primarily a retelling of the Arthurian legends, with the quest for Merlin being just a frame for the stories. In fact, he even wanted a "Pendragon" spin-off that would be devoted entirely to little-known Arthurian legends from the obscurer medieval romances. That request of his, as I recall, was one of the things that led to his retirement from TGS.

CASSANDRA - Glad that you liked the way that we handled Morgana la Fay. I'd certainly like to think that we made her into something more than a cardboard evil sorceress.

*Cassandra sits on the edge of the fountain and dips her tail into the water.* We're having 100 degree weather in Louisiana, so I just want to cool off. Favorite episodes of TGS, gee where to start.

Gargoyles: Reprisals -- who didn't like those episodes?
When Xanatos had the little trouble with the Illuminate (I don't remember the title)-- Fox got to see some action, yes!
Equality -- this room's proof enough that everyone wants to be on the other side of the species gap.
Timedancer: The Robin Hood story -- I love Robin Hood! And I like the part with Brooklyn telling the Merry Men about the Q-pid episode from Star Trek.
Gros Bon Ange -- Being a native Louisiana, this was a fun episode. I'm probably going to keep a sharp lookout for gargoyles at Mardi Gras now.
Fleeting Encounters -- A series of well written laughs, all in one episode. Every series need at least one funny episode.
Pendragon: Quest's End -- the idea of Merlin being a teenager appeals to me.
The dragons in the cave (forgot another title) -- I love the archaeologists and Nokkar, even though it almost seems like a six degrees a separation game is going on.
Goddess of Winter -- Morgana was made into a real character. The problem I always had with her from the myths I've read is that she always sounded like a bitch with no motivation for the trouble she caused, other than just causing trouble. The TGS Staff made her real.
Dark Ages: Roland episodes -- talk about a twisted character.
Coming of Age -- Goliath is already starting to show signs of being a good leader. And Asrial kicked butt.
The Wanderer -- it was funny! Will the Lyre come back? It was found with the Merlin Scrolls in "The Lighthouse on the Sea of Time". I can see Merlin going to visit his stuff in a musuem and the Lyre deciding to follow him out the door. Just something to think about.

Time to go to work. *Cassandra stands up, flicks her tail to dry it, and walks out the door, fanning herself with her wings.*

Hi all. Haven't posted in a while. Been having problems with my computer. Anyway, What are my favorite episodes of TGS?

TGS:G - Two, Out of Joint Part Two, Sacrifices Parts One and Two, Turncoat, A Mid-Winters Tale, Consequenses, Prophets and Angels, and Reprisals Part 3.

TGS:P - Into the Woods.

TGS:DA - Wanderer, Prince of Thieves Part Three, Coming of Age Parts One and Two, and Perspectives.

TGS:T - Reqiuem, For Old Time Sakes, Dishonor, Fleeting Encounters, Daylight, The Promise, and Gros Bon Ange.

I have a question about the Timedancer episode Requiem. First, did Macbeth and Demona actually, finally kill each other? To me it seemed that Demona was almost about to take the poison, and then seeing Jerusha made her feel ashamed at what she was trying to do, and that is why she started crying, not because she was going to die, but because she had failed Angela by trying to abandon her responsibilities to Jerusha. But what do the rest of you think? Did she really poison herself? Was that really the end of Demona and Macbeth? Or did they stop just in time?

(I got the impression from what Jerusha said about what the Wierd Sister said to each other that they finally lifted the curese of immortality from the duo. So they have an opportunity at one more life, and then that's it. It's just that I can believe that Demona and Macbeth would kill each other, but I can't believe that the TGS crew would be so cruel as to put Jerusha in the room while it is happening, while they are dying.)

Also just want to comment on Pendragon. This series has made alot of improvements from the first episode. What made it less enjoyable for me was that the first few episodes were just basically flashbacks. I like to read stories about Arthur and all that, but I am much more interested in the adventures that he is having now in the Gargoyles Universe rather than the adventures that he had at one point in history. Pendragon has improved greatly since introducing the Scottish clan, and having more interaction with the English one. I hope that in Season Two we will be seeing more of those two clans, as well as Arthur, Griff, Cavall, and Merlins new crusades.

As for Timedancer, this series last few episodes, after Sata has been introduced, has made the series so much better. It has continued to improve, making it tie with TGS:G as my favorite series. But will Future Tense (The spin-off, not the episode) be incorporated into it?

MANDI - I don't think that George's horror and despair at what Maddox and Sevarius had turned him into is incompatible with his continuing hatred of gargoyles. In fact, they could, if anything, be fueling his hate, since he might now be seeing the gargoyles as the symbol of what he had become, and loathe them all the more for it accordingly. That is, the loss of his humanity makes him hate non-humans all the further.

My favorities in the series were:
The Gargoyles Saga: Consequences. I yearn for the day when George Harrison breaks free of Maddox Technologies and is allowed to work on his own.

Pendragon: The Tain, for having Rory/Cuchullin the reincarnation of my favorite figure in mythology

Dark Ages: All the episodes with Roland were good, it is hard to pick one.

Nothing to say this time, just letting y'all know how I get out of that situation I was in last post.
(Suddenly Uncle Jimbo hears a cough from behind him and turns to see Owen there, clearing his throat. "Excuse me, sirs," the majordomo says to the Quarrykids and their uncles. "It's come to my attention that you, characters from a cartoon not appopriate for anyone in their right minds, are trying to become involved in a cartoon that is for all kinds of people. Since the two types don't mix, I'm going to have to ask you to surrender the Quarryman gear and return to the cartoon on which you belong. Now." "Yeah?" growls Cartman. "Make us, nerdie boy!!" The five South Park characters brandish their weapons and rush at Owen as Doug breathes a sigh of relief. Owen knocks them all out with his stone fist and a few spells (hey, these guys are a threat to any kid as role models, including Alex! It's justified!), then has several Steelclan robots remove their Quarryman gear and fly them back where they belong. Owen then turns to Doug and glares at him. "Hey," Doug complains. "It's not my fault Kenny came in here and originally started this whole mess. And Gargoyles has bad role models in it, too. There's Madoc, Hyena, Maeve, Margot Yale, Castaway..." Owen holds up a hand and shuts him up. "Yes, but those people are in many ways much worse. See that they stay out of this chatroom from now on." Doug shrugs. "I'm not even a fan of their show, I just like to see Kenny die. I always cheer when it happens, that little brat deserves it. Wish the other kids would die occasionally, too, you know?" Owen nods and walks off, wearing his usual expression. Doug breathes a sigh of relief and heads for the exit and home.)
That's the end of my South Park-Gargoyles cross. As my friends know, I'm not really a big fan of anybody or anything from the former. In fact, I think SP is the worst cartoon show ever to hit television with Kenny's constant death its only redeeming quality. There's nothing even remotely interesting or funny about it, I don't know why so many fans of that show exist. Gargoyles is of course its complete opposite in my mind. The best cartoon show ever, with lots of good jokes, characters, action, and lessons about life. Too bad we have so many people out there who decided to watch a stupid show like SP or Power Rangers instead of it. Oh well, the experiment of crossing two opposite-kind cartoon shows is now concluded. It won't happen again. Later all!!
(Doug waves good bye and walks out the door.)

favorite stories, easy one:
Gargoyles: Turncoat and Consequences; I like the characters of the Harrison brothers
Pendragon: The Tain and Quest's End; just, well, because they're cool.....not a very good reason but it works
Dark Ages: Alliances; I like the deaths of main characters, morbid I know, but it's just a thing I have
Timedancer: Requiem, Not A Prison Make, For Old Times' Sake, Games Without Frontiers, Dishonor, Daylight and Gros Bon Ange; these stories are turning points in Brooklyn's character
I'm bored out of my mind, does anyone here happen to be going to WTAMU band camp on the 13th?? Anyone at all, I'm so alone<----that's a little joke.........

Well, coyote, we were planning on flying there and taking the train back. If you figure it out, the train may be cheaper. You have to figure in parking, and the hassle of the parking. I don't know what route I would take if I were to drive.

MANDI OHLIN - Sorry, but I doubt that we'll ever be doing anything with the story of Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady, simply because we decided several months ago that the original course that "Pendragon" took, consisting primarily of flashbacks retelling the Arthurian legend, was not a good idea for TGS; in future seasons, we'll be keeping the flashbacks down to a minimum. (In fact, we even dropped two episodes from the first season's line-up, one on Gawain and one on Tristram, precisely because of that).

**Coyote decides to forgo driving the Cadillac into the room, opting for riding in on a mountain bike. And yes, the sax is still under his arm.**

Lady Mystic: Didn't mean to throw water on your creative fire there, that's just how my brain thinks. At least, lately. Everything that comes to my imagination, whether I use it in writings or not, involves an action having repercussions on down the line to infinity. It just happened to dawn on me what would happen to a person's family, if he chose to be transformed. I do agree, that to some extent a conseling period would probably work before it actually happens, but sometimes it just isn't enough, y'know? I just couldn't help myself from posting that, that's how much "Dear Diary" affected me. (And no, I'm not just trying to suck up to Christine: I mean that.)

BTW, if you and Fire Storm ever do manage to get to NYC for the Gathering, could you tell me your route (if you're driving, that is) so I can plan my trip for next year? Please, please please? I want to plan as fuel efficient a trip as possible (considering my car eats up about $20 per tank).

Fave episodes: I haven't really kept track of either "Pendragon" or "Dark Ages," so I have no faves for those. As far as the other two go, it's kind of hard to choose, but I'll try:

GARGOYLES: Tie between "Out of Joint," "Two," and "Equality."
TIMEDANCER: Tie between "Dishonor," "Daylight," and "The Promise."

Okay, I've said my peace.

**Coyote pedals out of the room, suddenly crashing to the floor as the front wheel of his bike rolls away without the rest of the vehicle. Coyote cusses loudly, running after the wheel with a bike wrench screaming "GET BACK HERE!!!"**

Guess what! Something happened last night. My sweet beloved mate, finally sat down and watched Gargoyles. I was watching "Temptation", (I had to watch it again after I read what Christine wrote) she came in where Demona says, "None of the above." She said, Why are you watching that crap? (She's seen me watch Gargoyles before, but never paid attention). So, she's standin right there at the TV, and when Brooklyn said "Hundreds of years?!!" She turned to me and repeated it. I was like, It'll take to loong to explain. Finally she has a seat, leans forward to the TV, with her elbows in her lap, and her fingers, like, laced together just in front of her mouth, lookin like she couldn't believe what she was seeing..... Umm. Not that I noticed how she was sitting, mind you.
After that episode I skipped forward to "High Noon". Frist words outta her mouth were, "That thing's ugly!" Refering to Desdemona. This episode had her totally baffled, and when it ended she was like.. OK, now you've got to show me what's going on! So, we had a gargoyle filled night, from "Awakenings (TV version) to "Reawakenings". Then she asked me, "Ok, so where did Demona come from?" Being that smart butt I am, plus finding it amusing to hear her say "Demona", I said "Her mamma. No really, that story's comin up soon." As she was going to the kitchen she hollered out, "That's where you got it from!"
"Yeah!" I knew what she was talking about..., I go around telling people, "You're takin it much too personally!" And I've just been dying for the chance to yell, "Nothing but your lies!!" I almost had the chance a couple of weeks ago, My sugarlump was yelling at me, "You just don't learn nothing do you?!! You can't go around.., bla bla bla..."
Frist thought in my head was, "I don't learn nothing?? Nothing but your lies!!" Then I started smiling, then she went on and on and on.... Anywayz, I think she's hooked now!!
<<again, did the gargoyle hatchlings eat the moss in the rookery?>>
I'd guess some of them did, either that, or Broadway will eat anything.
<<Jackal: Sorry, I was just making an observation about your revengeful desires. Didn't mean to offend. As for your children going "My mommy and daddy are gargoyles!", that'd be kinda funny, I have to admit.>>
OH, none takin! I know I'm wrong for my lust of revenge, but hey..., guilty pleasure, huh? Well, like I was saying, if my mate could (or want) to be a gargoyle, that would be great. Even if she wouldn't, I think I would still make that change, i mean my loved ones should still love me, right? If they didn't, that'll just fuel the fire for revenge, "Either way, I win!!" But what would be even more strange, is if a few years down the road I'm called to a parent/teacher conference..., Image that.

Oops. Forgot something. Todd, I was pestering you about the story "Sir Gawain and the Loathely Lady" that Sutcliffe mentioned; think you could hold on to that as a Season 3 suggestion for Pendragon? I'm assuming Season 2 is all plotted out already, but that riddle (What does a woman want most? Her own way.) at least would be interesting to incorporate. I can hear Arthur now, remembering Jennifer: "Some things just don't change." :)

*Mandi comes through the door for once, no special effects involved.* Okay. Fave TGS eps....lemme see.

Gargoyles: This is tough. Actually, "Turncoat" appealed to me in that it was a real turning point in the conflict between Quarrymen and PIT attitudes toward the gargoyles, and opened up a lot of future conflict to build on (the rift between Richard and George, Fang taking off to who-knows-where). That was on a first read, though...

Dark Ages: Coming of Age part three, just to see Asrial dishing it out like she did. :)

Timedancer: Fleeting Encounters. I loved it.

Pendragon: Either "Into the Woods" or "The Tain." (Oh no, Mandi's getting back onto that ep! Run! Run!) I think I liked the Brianna/Griff relationship as much as if not more than Brooklyn/Sata. They really seemed right for each other. And anyone who's been in this room for a while knows well my obsession with "The Tain." I just enjoyed having the focus on another character, and one we haven't seen before, for once.

Demona? Spoiled? Deluded and a bit arrogant, perhaps. Gloria, maybe her superiority complex over most humans could be what you're referring to. Arrogance often seems to go hand in hand with the archetype of a "spoiled brat" character, IMHO.

BTW, Coyote, I finally read your Manhattan Clan stories last night, and I love them! Keep writing!

Phone in demand; must go so they who pay the bills won't complain.

Spike: My fave TGS ep out of the entire lot? Hmmm… I think the REPRISALS saga would win it, although if you're thinking about single eps, it'd be FLEETING ENCOUNTERS or CONSEQUENCES, I think. Reasons? REPRISALS was in short bits, had Maddox, some glorious stuff with Lex, had two cliff-hangers (I love them :)), and was just great all round. I loved the stuff with Angela too, but Lex and Maddox just steal the show. FLEETING ENCOUNTERS was also short, was quite amusing in places, and felt like a nice break from the rest of the timedancers. CONSEQUENCES… I just could see the whole event. Ironically enough, it's also one of the ones where I feel the staff were straying too far from the track of a Gargoyles continuation, but nonetheless, there's no denying that it worked, and was a great ep. If I'm breaking the series down individually, then I guess…

GARGOYLES: REPRISALS, as explained above.
PENDRAGON: INTO THE WOODS, simply because it appeals to me that Griff gets a mate. GODDESS OF WINTER, because I like the Morganna stuff. QUESTS END probably top, cause of Maddox and Merlin.
DARK AGES: Still have yet to read the entire series, so I won't comment 'til I do.
TIMEDANCER: see above.

Generally, the short stories appeal to me because it seems more like an ep of Gargoyles :)

(Doug gives up trying to get Demona's help and walks over to the center of the room as the door continues to be banged on.)
Don't they ever give up? And why wouldn't Demona help me? I gave her back the gun I took (only to have her aim it at my head and tell me to go away, but at least I gave it back!). If anyone can deal with those kids out there so I can unblock the door, please help. Here's some other stuff I have to say:
Jackal: Sorry, I was just making an observation about your revengeful desires. Didn't mean to offend. As for your children going "My mommy and daddy are gargoyles!", that'd be kinda funny, I have to admit. Lisa and I will probably never have to deal with anything like that, but good luck to you and your mate if you ever do. And the kids, too, of course.
Firestorm and Lady Mystic: Didn't see your earlier posts, so I didn't realize you were together until later. Glad you're so happy together! And Firestorm, don't worry about cybernetics. Maybe in a few years it will become a cheaper, more possible, reality and Lady Mystic will be more disposed to it. Or maybe she'll convince you to give it up. I know that right now I would never get any cybernetics, but if I had to pick one cybernetic implant to get in the future, I'd get a synthetic hand like my character Ares O'Neil has. Then I could light my way through any darkness, light cigarettes with a hot fingertip (for other people, I don't smoke), open any lock with the nanite finger (you'll see him use that one in later stories), and smite my enemies with glorious electricity!! Muhahaha! Whoa, getting a little carried away here. In any case, good luck to you in this cybernetics thing. Both of you. Firestorm, I'm glad part of your reason for giving it up is your mate's opposition to it. Maybe she won't throw you onto the couch after she reads that (there's always a chance). In any case, best to you both!!
Favorite TGS eps:
Gargoyles: Turncoat. I liked how much it showed the characters of Richard, George, and Angela, as well as Castaway's eventual fate. Peace was made between gargs and humans, the Quarrymen were disbanded, and there were many great character moments. I just liked it the best, that's all.
TimeDancer: Midnight Showdown. I've always been a big fan of the Wild West, and that ep was better than any Clint Eastwood flick I've seen about it. Cord I just knew had to be voiced by the Duke (if he were still alive, sigh). Good characters in that one as well, good and bad guys clearly defined. And Brooklyn was in top form as a hero.
Dark Ages: Alliances 1 and 2. Great character moments in there for Asrial, Malcolm, Hudson, and Roland. I also liked Atalanta as a bad guy. It was also good to see how the humans and gargs of Wyvern eventually became allies and friends after living together and 'tolerating' each other for a long time.
Pendragon: Draw between The Watching Eye and Dragon's Wrath. The former I liked because it showed great character moments for Arthur, and introduced Jennifer, the best love interest I've seen for him and my favorite new-appears-in-one-ep-so-far female character out of all the series (My favorite new-and-regular female character is Sharon). Dragon's Wrath I mainly liked for the fighting and character moments from Arthur, Griff, and those archelogists. I like what the TGS staff did with Nokkar in that one. The dragons were pretty cool, too.
That's my piece this time! See y'all.
(Doug walks off around the room, continuing to look for help. The pounding suddenly stops, then the door and furniture are destroyed by an anti-deer missile and the barricade collapses. The Quarry-kids and two very mean-looking hunters in Quarryman hoods who are armed to the teeth walk in, and Doug gulps. "Shoot the garg-lover, Uncle Jimbo!" yells one of the kids, and the lead hunter takes aim as Doug looks around nervously for help or an exit. Will he get out of this alive? Find out in the next post!!)

SECOND!

Doug: Yeah, me and Mystic have been mates for a few years. If you saw our first comments, you may have noticed that they were usually late at night and within 10 minutes of each other. We are, and have been for the past 2 years, living together. (Kinda makes it hard to leave her when she has my computer. (I am lucky she isn't in the room with me. I know when she reads this post, I am sleeping on the couch!))

Sevarius Jr. I knew that they grew brain cells on a chip. I just didn't know that they were human cells. On that note, in the field of Cybernetics, there have been many devices made to make it come true. First, about 10-15 years ago, a video camera was directly connected to the visual cortex of the human brain, allowing a blind man to see for the first time. Secondly, there have been little nuron-hookups available for a few years. That will allow more percise attachment of devices to the brain and mussles. Personally, I would already have cybernetics in me if it wern't for a few problems.
1.) Lady Mystic (Opposed to it!)
2.) While the hydrolics are small enough, the battery packs for powering compressors are short term, to say the least, or very heavy. Totally impractal.
3.) As for optical, I jam waiting until the pixel resolution gets closer to the human eye's resolution of approx. 2.5mill squared pixels.
4.) Battery Life
5.) Cost
Microphone techonology is good enough for it to work well. When I do have the surgery, probally in about 10 years or so, I will make it open archetecture, external jacks for video and audio input, and hopefully data-in and data-out. The ultimate in wet-ware. As for a total neural replacement with cybernetics, I will wait just a little longer before I do that. If there is actually a soul, I would ABSOLUTELY want it to go with the new brain and body. Oh, as for the body, there are growth hormones that can grow just about any tissue in the body. I would just take a cyber-endoskeleton, immerse it in growth solution, place the apropriate type of cells in the right places, Cartalidge scafoldings in the propper place, and of course, get my eyes done as cosmetically close as I possibly can. Make the brain removeable and insert it in the new body. I have totally thought it out, I know the pro's and con's, and I still want (and most likely will) go through with it before I biologically die.
As I say in life, I did not choose this body, it dosn't suit my needs or lifestyle, I want another one, and I will damned if I settle for what I was given. (True, I say the exact thing about this planet. Go figure... Launch in t-minus 25 years and counting)

On genetic engineering: I would do it. My only problem with it is I don't want it messing with my brain. THATS where I draw the line. I don't want to think differently. As for life, I would find a way to continue with my life. Yes, I would need a different job, but with today's marketplace, I can work at home.

BTW... anyone want to get me and Lady Mystic a room at the hotel? (Damn! Does THAT bring back a few early memories of me dating!)If so, Maybe I can still go. Unless I can't get a camcorder. If anyone brings a camcorder to the gatering, could you possibly send me a copy of your raw footage? I would try to make a good documentry. I have some good video editing skills, ESPICIALLY in digital editing. I was schoold taught analog editing, but I have re-taught myself in the digital field.
Hmm... maybe I should also ask for photo's...

FIRST! :)

Doug> Sorry, you misunderstood my question. What gave you the idea that Fire Storm and I were NOT that close?

Theresa> <<Firestorm> If you have someone you and your lady could bunk with, that person could rent two rooms.>> That is our biggest problem. The sad thing is we don't know many people around here that are Gargoyles fans, and if they are they are either under 21 also (like us - not by much), or are over 21 and don't like Gargoyles enough to care about internet fandom and The Gathering. My dad's our best bet (he likes Gargoyles, but not so much as us), and that kind of blows the idea of my mate and I going as a couple alone. Besides, just out of wanting to go despirately, I asked my dad if he and my sister would want to go. While my sister is interested (she's a big fan too), my father said flat out NO. Even worse, my sister (she's 17) wants to go with us but my dad won't let her go without him. So we're screwed. We're going to aim for G'99 and hopefully it will be in New York still. (Because we want to see other sites in New York, and we fear The Gathering may be hosted in a city further than NY already is.)

Jackal> To bad the CR gets wiped after being archived as "previous week's comments". The majority of us, except for new-bies, have answered my age question weeks ago. Too bad our memories weren't better. So here's my age again: 19 going on 20 in October. Fire Storm is 20 going on 21 in September.

That reminds me, I find it sad that TGS and s8 CRs comments for each week get wiped. We have said very interesting and memorable things in both. Also, any new-bies would benefit from reading our old weeks' comments and wouldn't be so behind. One thing Fire Storm and I do is save the CR each week and if we want to reread something then there it is. If you can download stories then you're probably able to download CRs.

Human to fae/gargoyle/half-breed/clone/cyborg/mutate/body-suit/etc. Transformation Topic:

Coyote the Bando> Well, I like it that you have posted a comment that we would have to think about IF this were real life, but I also think that a decision to change into any of my suggested races and such should not be a rash one and that you should include your loved ones' opinions before going through with it. I don't think everyone here would just do it and then tell their family and friends like you said they would do. More importantly, I asked just for entertainment and imagination purposes. No matter how much we wish the Gargoyles Universe to be real (unless it actually is) it is something that entertains the imagination. Relax and let this feed our imagination.

Lisa> I agree with your comment. Couldn't have said it better myself. :)

And if this WERE real life, I think people who decide to change should go through theropy and live the life as that form (or as best they could before going through with it) for a year, like transexuals do. That way they know for sure and can prepare the body and mind before going through with it, while their friends and family can learn to get used to the idea.
