Just out of curiousity, can anyone identify where THAT drink came from?

(The door to the comment room is pushed open by a large , furred , clawed and powerfully muscled arm from the top of the door frame . The rest of the creature crawls into the room on the ceiling . It is revealed to have animalistic features in that it has a thick tail . large airs and sharp teeth . while its eyes are positioned to the front of it's head . It crawls to the middle of the ceiling and drops to the floor , but on the way down its arms shrink , its muzzle shortens and it develops the completely human features of Brian .)

I kinda like that Blaiseism .

For the Benefit of those who did'nt know , Our favourite Sentient ape from Planet of the apes , Roddy McDowell , past away on 9/28/98 .

TGS : (Brian dons robes via a spell , he then summons a sheep , slaughters it , draws a mystic symbol on the ground with its blood , and stands in its center .) Plot lines that I would really like to see developed this season are - Sharon Nimura , The Jewish Geneticist (I just ca'nt remember his name ) and I would reheeaaaaly like some character development between Lex and Liz . (Kneels and lights incense candle . ) Tell me O wise Orracle , is there any chance that these things will come to pass in this season .

Bruce Campbell - The man is funny , I've only ever seen Army of Darkness which I found to be totally ridiculous but still very funny . I also liked Brisco County Jr . And his work in Herculese and Xena is good too . (Autolycus peeping at Helen of Troy - There's a word for guys like me ..... LUCKY .)

J. Scott Campbell - I preferred his work in the early to mid Gen13 era . I find him almost as crazy with his Danger Girl work as Joe Maduriera after he left Uncanny X-men . Now his work was good , still is really but I ca'nt stand Red Monika . Her proportions are just insane , the woman has to wear a 36G bra . and her body is like two oranges connected by a tooth pick . Speaking of Which I think Joe did some work in the Gargoyles comic book . Am I right , anyone ?

Coyote : Read the story and really liked it . Pretty good cliffhanger too .

Anyway later all .

(Brian casts a spell but a misprununciation causes a mistake in the spell and h is dressed as a woman instead of his normal garb .)Well this is humiliating . But it should be enough to disguise me from Bisi , I think I'll try it .(Brian walks out of the room trying to put a feminine swing to his movement . As the door closes a loud *SNAP* is heard .) DAMN , broke a heal .

Xander: The Persons for Inter-species Tolerence (PIT) Crew is, of course, a plot element from The Goliath Chronicles, which somehow got transfered to the alternate universe of TGS. (The 3 known universes: Greg Weisman's vision, The Goliath Chronicles, and TGS [Actually, there's a 4th one that visited TGS, but that's another story]). Anyway, the first mention of PIT in TGS is in the 10th episode of TGS, "The Hunted": Gargoyles. John Castaway mentions them, as does MacBeth. Later, in episode 14, "The Hammer and Shield," there is a small group of pro-gargoyle picketers (sadly outnumbered by the anti-gargoyle protesters). While PIT is not mention, one might infer that they organized that group (or that at least a few protesters were in it). The last introductory PIT information I'll point you to is in Episode 16: "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," where Lexington enters the PIT chat room on the IRC. I hope this helps you a little.

Just some final thoughts on Bruce Campbell. I gotta stop talking about him, before people think I'm a stalker or something.

1. Like Coyote said, he's not related to J. Scott Campbell, the comic book artist. But have you checked out that guy's work on Danger Girl? It's sweeeeeet! No one can draw a woman's....smile...like he can ;)

2. There is an alternate ending to Army of Darkness. Ash takes the potion to make him go back to his time, but in this ending, it's a sleeping potion. He takes to much, and wakes up a hundred years in the future (past his own time), where a nuclear apocalypse has killed off everyone else but him. The studio told Raimi to change the ending, cause it was too depressing. Go figure, huh? I think the Japanese and bootleg copies of A of D has this ending.

3. Coyote: You got to meet him? And your professor actually taught him? That's too cool. I'm a big fan of his. By the way, great new edition to G: CM, as always.

Ordell gets the cyber cookie of her choice. I uncertain of the date, but I believe The Day The Earth Stood Still was made in 1951 or there abouts.
One of my favorites. I can remember watching on tv when I was six or seven. All the fifties cliches.
Giant robot, alien master, flying saucer, death threats to the world, heroine with a kid and no dad, army acting typical (blow it up.) Yup love that movie. Forbidden Planet is another favorite.

TRAVELLER - Very good questions. To provide some sort of answer to them:

1. We (the TGS staff) also wondered about why the federal government was taking so little an interest in the gargoyles. Among the answers that we considered were: the usual distractions caused by Bill Clinton's peccadillos, subtle pressure from the Illuminati, crippling government bureaucracy, and a demand from the local authorities of Manhattan that they were trying to handle this themselves and please let them do so.

2. As for the Rising, the Unseelie Ride's only just started. Nobody (as far as TGS released stories go) has even seen it happen yet, so how can we deal with any response to it?

3. Did we ever say that the Illuminati *don't* know about the Third Race?

*The sound of static from a TV fills a corner of the CR. Everyone looks over to see the little girl from the Poltergeist movies sitting facing the TV. Slowly only her head does a 180' and says in an erie, resonating voice: "He's herreee...". The television screen suddentaly goes black and implodes, instantaly sucking itself and the little girl into the dark energy vortex of oblivion. The vortex then grows, stops and a cloaked figure emerges. It's Traveler.*

I'm BACK! AH!AH!AH! After several days without making a post, I'm back! And it feels good. It's time for a rant!

All right, first off I must profess that I also am a fan of the "Evil Dead, and Army of Darkness" movies starring the often underated actor Bruce Campbell. I laugh my a** off every time I watch them.

>ORDELL- What's this about an alternate ending for "Army of Darkness"?

Next concerning TGS: "The Rising" was a wonderfuly done premiere episode for the series. It answered many questions that were left hanging in our minds 5 MONTHS AGO!!!!! Um...sorry about that, still a little worked up from waiting that long. (Thank God it's over, finaly over, all over, roll over rover.)

Anyway there are a few questions I'd like to pose before the assembled CR dwellers about the TGS universe so far. For one, before The Rising occured, I find it odd that none of the many branches of the federal government (weather it be law enforcement, military, or health) came to Manhattan and started ripping it up until they found and captured the gargoyles. Or at least tried to. I mean even with the pull the Illuminati has with the world in general, we have a new (according to public knowledge) species running around New York City witch may or may not be sentient. In addition because of this new species, a militia group was formed which was packing some pretty damn heavy weaponry, including helicopters, and was running aroung the city like the bunch of lunitics they were shooting up and smashing whatever they liked. (Not to mention all the other generaly weird stuff that started to happen after the time the Clan was awakened.) AND THE FBI, ATF, NSA, CDC, DOD, JUST TO NAME A FEW, TURNED A BLIND EYE TO ALL OF THIS???!!! And let the city police department handle it?! The only interest we ever saw the feds have in the Clan was during the "Things Fall Apart" series. And they were only looking for the gargs as a side endevour to gathering evidence for the "Phoenix Rising" case.

Now with the Unseelie Rising literlly riding a quai-medival death horde (quai-medival death horde, I like the sound of that!) through Times Square I think the Illuminati just might have a little trouble covering up and dealing with that like they usually do with problems. I mean, what exactily in the eyes of the public is the federal government going to do about (as imposible as it sounds) a horde of magical beings that a few millinimum ago were considered literal gods, seizing manhattan?

And why didn't the all knowing grand pooba of secret societies, the Illuminati, know about this? They must have had some idea of what was going on. They control the world, you'd think they would keep an eye out for somebody else trying the same thing, let alone Oberon's mentaly unbalenced twin! *forgets what CR he's in for a second* (Not that there's anything wrong with being mentaly unbalenced >:)
Now to be fair, in the Pendragon eps. the writers kind of alluded to something big happening and the Illuminati knowing something about it, but if they were prepared it will be interesting to see how. Unfotunely the only way this will be answered is when the next few TGS/Pendragon stories come out. Which means more waiting *sigh* and the insanity that come with it *YEA!*.

A side note: Dragons vs. Sidhe in a major war? Imprisoned Dragon King? 11,000 years ago? I swear if the staff does not fill this out in the rest of the season or do anything else with this part of the story arc there WILL BE HELL TO PAY. You do not mention things like this which you know full well will put our (the fans) creativity demons and imaginations into overdrive with the possibilities for this on top of all the others you (the staff, in their genius) have given us.

>FIRESTORM- I'm speaking for my self but: >I brainstormed the "Great Lakes Clan(S)". 500-1000 gargoyles in the tri-state area (And some of Canada!)< when I read this I acheived a state of mental perfection for one moment when all I had in my screwed up mind was one single, all encompasing thought: Cannon Fodder! Yea!

>Coyote the Bando- I just read your latest, and all I have to say is this: All right! Even more plot advancement! Does he ever stop! No! Like the Energizer Bunny (tm)on speed his series just keeps getting more and more interesting! *starts to concentrate on what Roseanna will look like with a T-100 skull for halve a face. hmmm...interesting*

>WEB SITE STAFF- When will the archive be back up? Any ideas at all on when are better than none, and would be greatly welcomed.

*looks up.* Wow, that's quite long. (For me anyway.) *shakes his head* I need sleep. Bye, Bye. *Re-opens the dark energy vortex he came in through, waves, and steps through. Suddently there is a loud cry of outrage followed by the phrase "NOT IN MY DIMENTION!!! NOT NOW OR EVER SHALL THAT THING ENTER THIS DOMAIN!!!" and the Poltergeist girl is hurled out the portal along with the the television which is tuned to the accursed "Barney and Friends". The portal quickly seals itself but not before Traveler douses them both in napalm, flicks a lit match at them, and yells "Don't wory she's a clone! The real actress is probaly in her early 30's by now! Oh, and duck!" *The portal closes and the clone and the TV go up in flames.*

**Coyote sticks his head in the door quickly to add:**

One last thing about "Army of Darkness": I took a film class at MSU with a professor who is an extra in the beginning of AOD. If you look at the scene by the pit, there's a particular white-bearded gaunt looking monk. That is MSU Film Professor William Vincent. (He gets a lot of non-speaking walk ons in Sam Raimi's films because he taught Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell at MSU.)

I just need to jump in with this one, as long as we're on the topic of Bruce Campbell.

1> Bruce Campbell is of *no* relation to J. Scott Campbell, the *Gen13* artist. Bruce was born in Michigan; J. Scott was born in California.

2> I have personally met Bruce Campbell and listened to him speak on the topic of independent filmmaking. He came to Michigan State on a promotional tour for an indie film he had exec. produced entitled "The Fear of a Minute." They were touring it at college campuses to try to raise awareness of the film, in addition to trying to raise money to complete the film. And I got his autograph (a messy little scribble) on a white portfolio. And my girlfriend (at the time) had her picture taken with him. I can even transcript my conversation with him:

Coyote> "I have to say this ... you make a lovely Amazon" (referring to recently-broadcast Xena episode "The Quest.")
Bruce Campbell> (screwy "I-don't-believe-you-just-said-that look) "Ha ha, next time *you* wear the dress."

Thank you. Must go. Sleep summons me.

Cool, another Evil Dead/Bruce Campbell fan. Very rare, or so I've found. I always thought that he would be good to voice Fang, but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Sam Raimi is a god, and he has a thing about mirrors. Take your pick of quotes:

"It's a trick, get an axe."
"You ain't leading but two things right now: Jack and shit. And Jack just left town."
"Yo, she-bitch. Let's go."
"Gimme some sugar, baby."
"Groovy."
"Klaatu borada n......Necktie....Nickel...it's an "N" word, it's definitely an "N" word. Klaatu borada ni *chough*. There, I said the words, I'll just be taking the book now."
"Good.....Bad.....I'm the guy with the gun."
"Name's Ash *cocks shotgun* Housewares."
"Hail to the king, baby."

Okay, enough raking of my mind. I need to go get the DVD of that movie, word has it an alternate ending is on there. Man, I need something better to do.

Am I familiar with Bruce Campbell? I'm a member of his freakin' fan club! He's a vastly underrated actor, from his work on the Evil Dead films (which I can quote verbatim), to the great-and-unfortunately-short-lived series The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., to his recent work on Hercules/Xena. The best thing about him--he's supernice. He's not conceited or arrogan, he's down to earth. You can actually write him and, get this: HE WRITES YOU BACK. It may only be a sentence or two, but how many stars can you name who actually spend the time of day to answer fan mail? Not many nowadays. Click on my name to go to his web page.

Sorry for the rambling, but I'm something of a fan.

About Callisto: I think I read somewhere that the actress who plays her is gonna do motion pictures now. Oh well, she still looks good in leather!

I'll leave you with this quote from my fave Bruce film, ARMY OF DARKNESS:

"Now this....(holds up shotgun, points it at the medieval peasants) Is my BOOMSTICK! It's a twelve gauge, double-barreled Remington pump. S-Mart's top of the line. It's got a cobalt blue steel stock, and a walnut finish. It retails for about $109.95. You can find this baby in the sporting goods department of your local S-Mart store. That's right, shop smart--shop...S-Mart. YOU GOT THAT!!!! Now I swear, the next one of you primates, so much as touches me..."

God I love that film!

Todd: Yeah, I see that… but Garlon's such a polished, rounded, curious villain that it's hard to imagine any aspect of him linked to TGC. I'll be curious to learn more about him this season…

Doug: Well, yeah. I loved it so much because I believed it. I thought Mavis was the enemy, and Maddox was a good guy, albeit with some sort of mysterious past or something or other. That's why I couldn't take my eyes off the Maddox plotline and the Lex stories became fascinating. The trio down to two Lion King part was one point that I just got such a buzz from reading… just like at the "2 clans" speech in REAWAKENING, the battle throughout AVALON PART THREE, the clone/clan standoff in THE RECKONING and about 4 points in CITY OF STONE. In TGS there was also a point in CONSEQUENCES, and one in SOMETHING WICKED and the end to REPRISALS PART TWO. All those parts (and a couple of others which I'm forgetting- HUNTERS MOON is jam packed with them) where I just feel such a rush of excitement watching/reading. And as it all came to a conclusion, it was so wonderfully done. The best is the showdown at the end of part 2. I laughed at the Maddox/Xanatos exchange, but as a whole scene, that section where Lex realises the truth can't be beaten. I also love George's sickening "does it hurt?" line.

Patrick: Thanks! (and I don't mind that it's a plug… I'm curious!!)

Wilek: *laughs* Nice one! I can just imagine Madoc prancing around there. And also imagine Oberon with Titania singing "I can't wait to be king" with the faeries as the animals, and Madoc in the background pulling faces. :)

AotN: I agree with the character inconsistencies, although I think Asrail is allowed to lose her temper from time to time… Don't see anything wrong with that! :)

I was looking around the art galleries and there's some lovely stuff in there! I loved the Pendragon stuff! Also, THE RISING was well illustrated. Hope to see more of it in future. :)

For those of you who have no idea who I am: I'm Arianna, and I usually confine my insanity to the S8 CR, but today, I'm here too.

THE RISING:
AWESOME!!! I love it. The whole premise is just so perfect...And, of course, Loki's in it. Madoc is SOOO evil, as is Maeve, and the Unseelies are great villains. Especially, of course, Loki, who is almost (note I said almost) cooler than Puck. But not quite. Definitely a great season premier...definitely the best one of the year.

Too bad about Timedancer not premiering until January 99. That's worse than the X-Files. However, it will give me more time to catch up on the other series (especially Pendragon) from last year.

Starsinger> COOL POWERS! (PS. I had no idea you were half alien. That's awesome.)

Okay, I read all three parts of "Prince of Thieves" from DARK AGES today for the first time, and, in my opinion, there a few things that need to be brought up in regards to the next season:

1. Please, writers, make up your minds about your characters' personalities! One minute Demona and Diomedes are shy and sweet teenagers ("Destiny" and "Seduction", Demona is shy and clumsy), and the next minute they're proud, snotty and overconfident ("Prince of Thieves", both made bad comments about Asrial at nearly every available moment!!). This is extremely disturbing as a reader (and as a novice writer!). Also, Asrial is usually portrayed as shy and slow to temper, but in "The Fox Came Back", she loses her cool several times, and to Goliath!
2. I love how you writers get into the thoughts of your characters, but there is one you have been overlooking, so to speak. This person is Goliath. (Correct me if I'm wrong on this point, and your saving his character for some dramatic part in the coming season? :) ). Anyway, I hope you have more about Goliath's thoughts in the future.

Thanx for listening to that, and I'd think it was really cool if you took some of this to heart. Btw, to Tas "Vince" Burrfoot (nice name :P), though I was disappointed with your portayal of Asrial in "The Fox Came Back", I was rotfl over the anticts of Reynard the Fox!! :)

**Coyote drives into the room in Lexington, smiling.**

Another day, another dollar ...

Wilek: Interesting that you should mention Dahak ... I also happen to be a Xena fan, and there has been a running plotline through both *Xena* and *Hercules* (non-Disney) dealing with Dahak threatening the Greek gods with his servants (thus far: Callisto, Hope (Gabrielle's daughter) and Alte). Since you mentioned him, thought I'd just toss that one in ...

Fleur: Hmmm ... no I don't think I'll be using the Dark Ages char's, because of something I think I mentioned in the other room (I'm using TGS continuity, which would also include the DA characters), and it runs into that little rule about same characters in the universe ...
(actually that's a lame excuse ... the real reason is because I haven't read many DA eps and have absolutely no grasp on the characters.)

Fire Storm: Use Clan Detroit? Sure, go ahead. My name link goes to the character profiles for the members of the Clan (Mustang, Dodge, Pontiac and Buick), if you want to use them in the present day there's only a couple of revisions you need:
1) Lexington (the gargoyle, not my car) is with them, but would still be recuperating from his long journey from New York ... come to think of it you might not need to use Pontiac since she would be spending so much time with Lex. ;)
2) Cadillac would not be born yet (Her egg won't be laid until September of next year).
Any more info you need, let me know. And please, put it up on the Web and send me a URL so I can link it to G:CM. (for that matter, I'd like to read it since knowing you you'll have something in it about Hyena making cacciatore out of Geoffrey "King of the Idiots" Fieger.)

Obsessions: Saving up to go to Dallas ... coming to these rooms ... that's about it right now.

BTW, Fleur and Static-Pulse: Thanx for your char. descriptions. You'll be going on the list with the next update tomorrow (hopefully).

Must go, much to write.

Theresa> Very kewl powers.

Weird mental image that's been scraping at the inside of my skull since the whole Madoc/Scar discussion started>

Maeve: Be prepared! Yeah, we'll be prepared. For what?
Madoc: For the death of the king!
Garlon: What, is he sick?
Madoc: No, fool, we're going to kill him! And Merlin too...
Garlon: Great idea! Who needs a king?
Maeve, Garlon, and Loki (singing): No king! No king! La la la la la la!
Madoc: Idiots! There *will* be a king!
Garlon: But you just said...
Madoc: I will be king! Stick with me and you'll never go hungry again!
Maeve, Garlon, and Loki: Yeah! Alright! Long live the king! Long live the king! Long live the king!
Thousands of Unseelie singing> It's great that we'll soon be connected/With a king who'll be all time adored...

I typed that from memory. Help me. :)

Umbriel> If I'm not mistaken, isn't that the name of one of the seven archangels as identified in The Book Of Mormon?

BTW, I recently learned of a mythological something-or-other named Dahak. I think he's the Muslim epitome of all evil. You just *know* he's an Unseelie.

Well, we have a battle to fight. [Wilek and the fire team round a corner...and encounter five Barney gargoyles.] NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Hi, all!

Theresa> Wow, you sure do understand time zones much better than the rest of us! It's pretty cool in Arizona not having to remember to change the clocks for Daylight Savings time, but it is kinda annoying to turn on the TV and have all the shows starting one hour off from the usual time because the rest of America has changed except for us. Oh, well. Sorry if I confused anyone!

ED: That was my favorite part of "Reprisals," too. I was laughing my head off. I also liked the doubt about Maddox's motives and evilness in Season 1 and how at the season's end it was so icingly confirmed. I liked it so much I'm even kinda copying it in my own fanfic saga with a certain villain who has the same initials. His character's been developed some already and still is, but his true motives and plans are still unknown. One thing's for sure, though, him and Thailog are going to get along very well together. <grin>

ED - Well, the "Generations" guy was just the piece of sand buried at the center of the pearl for Garlon. All that we took from him was the basic concept of a sneaky character who could turn invisible. I gave him the name and the idea of being Madoc's servant. Kathy Pogge came up with some character quirks for him, including his dislike of being nicknamed "Mouse". After that, Garlon was a character in his own right.

Just been reading through REPRISALS again. Nice stuff. My fave bit is…

***REPRISALS SPOILERS***

"I never expected our first meeting to turn out like this," David Xanatos called, hovering on the jets of his battlesuit. "I had more of a board-room setting in mind."
"You've destroyed my board room," Maddox replied icily.
"Bill me."

And some nice stuff with Mavis. The final bit with Lex was lovely. Of course the best was the ending to part 2 :) I'll be very surprised if you can top that this season, all of the crew reading! Mind you…

Anyway, nice stuff… :)

***END OF REPRISALS SPOILERS***

I'd better go and try and rebuild my lost bookmarks. At least my computer is fixed far sooner than I could have hoped for. But I've lost most of my stuff… *grumbles*

Anyway, I've got more time to reply now, so…

Doug: Nice little analysis. And neat Loki history too…

Todd: Interesting little revelations. I like the Scar parallel! It's so delightful to imagine Loki and the unseelie in the place of the Hyenas while Madoc, where Scar is, leaps about with his "Be Prepared" song. I always loved that. :) And I still find it hard to connect Garlon with that GENERATIONS guy… :|

Dark Ages & Timedancer: Umm… a couple of questions (though I'm sure the staff are all sick of them by now):
(1) If the series are beginning later, will they end later?
(2) And if Pendragon and Gargoyles share stories, shouldn't they have more than the latter two considering that's the main plot, and the rest are just spin-offs. If I'm working it out correctly, TD will get 5 months of stuff if it ends in may, while P&G will get 8 between them, making about 4 eps for each. That's less for the main series than the spin-offs. (Of course my fave series happen to be Gargs and Pendragon, but even so… :))

Besides, I don't mind the DA delay, since I still haven't finished reading season 1 :\

Patrick: Well, Garlon I know from Matt's task force (I think… he was the mouse guy, wasn't he?), Loki is Leifson, yes? And Umbriel… well, a short bit in REPRISALS PART THREE… is there anything to add to any of that? Any eps you'd like to direct me to? :)

Green Baron: Yeah, more evil is a good summary… although I love the Rising, I do wonder if that might sort of be a stumbling block for the second season. The doubt of what Maddox was up to, and later the intrigue as to what it was… it was all part of what made season 1 so great. I loved the feeling of "being in the dark" (I also hated it at the same time, but I hate all the best cliffhangers because I love them so much). Maddox was believable, and I certainly was sucked in, as many of you probably know from S8. So I feel very attached to that Lex & Madoc story. But I think TGS does need another shade this season. But I guess with all that's ahead it's pretty daft to imagine that the staff haven't thought of that already :)

DumlaoX: Oh, stop being so sickeningly mysterious! Well, I suppose it's your duty as a TGSer, but it's so annoying!! More so than with Greg because I can just picture you and the rest of the TGS staff sitting back and chuckling to themselves as they type in their cryptic responses. :)

Brian> Actually, I'm not allowed to say much about the future because it might pollute the timeline. I'll say this much: Stay away from a black-robed dude in a ceramic mask. Please trust me on this.

Obsessions> Fonts, MID, WAV, MP3, and image files. Computer geek and proud of it! :)

Fleur> Thanks. And Barney does that to me too. There's a DOOM image converter thing that converts all the pink minotaur guys into Barneys and all the red floating heads into Clinton's head. Kewl. Your local gas plant blew up? Yikes. That's why I use electric heating.

Theresa> How the bleep do you keep all that time snot in your head?! I have enough trouble remembering when to change the clock for Daylight Savings Time! Must be the alien heritage. It would be so kewl to be a half alien.

Has anyone noticed that there have been at least 3 Blaisisms in here that have destroyed the known universe? The Vorlons accidentally imploded the universe while fighting the Unseelie. Then someone understood what the universe is and what it's for, and it immediately changed into something even more bizarre and inexplicable. Then the universe simply exploded and everyone died. This is a dangerous place.

Well, must sign off, all. Till the setting of the sun...[To be continued.]

I have been meaning to ask anyone who is on the TGS staff - What happened to Thailog and the Coldtrio? I like what's being written now with the Unseelie, but what happened to these four characters? Will we ever get to see them again?

I bring this up because I was watching 'Possession' last night, and it struck me that Coldsteel would become the perfect replacement for Demona as an enemy of Brooklyn. Since in TGS Demona is more or less at peace with the clan, and Brooklyn doesn't really hate her anymore after his Timedancing, he would still need a good villian to hate. And Coldsteel would fill in that spot perfectly.

Brian> I started to wonder at the beginning of your post: Who is this person and what have they done with the REAL Brian? I once had entirely too much fun at a weapons range with several types of handguns and a cardboard cutout of Barney. People were begging me to be allowed to shoot at the target.

Theresa> Texas is never correct? I suppose you're right. I've lived here eight years and still get confused about the time differences occasionally.

Well, I'm off to join the others who are going to be offline for the weekend. It's off to Dallas again, and more creative insanity in planning a wedding. Actually the travel time is good, it gives me time to work on fic ideas.

A lot of you live in different timezones and miss things because of it. The most simple way to keep track of time is this.

The room is on EASTERN time. When I look at a posted time I am TWO hours off. I am on MOUNTAIN time. If you are on PACIFIC time you are THREE hours off. CENTRAL time is ONE hour off. We change timezones at both the east and west borders in NM during the summer. Texas is never correct and Arizona is never on daylight time, so they are off six plus months a year.

I caught Christine because I checked her post time, knew she was on Pacific time and I was on Mountain time. Only four time zones in the states. If were being picky I belive Hawaii is four hours further than Pacific and Australia is tomarrow (16 hours I believe) and England is last night (8 hours from Eastern I believ).

Everything you didn't need to know about time.

Static Pulse>> Thank you. Mine is the English spelling. There is also a French, a Spanish, an Irish and my relatives who can't spell version.

A lot of people forget that Christmas trees are an 17/18th century invention from Germany. It was period, however, to get a yule log, hang greens and eat. Carols as we know them are not period. All sorts of interesting things crop up when you research medival customs.

Many people have comented on Goliath and clan and their reading ability and language ability for our century. I always assumed that the language and reading skills were a subspell in the main spell. When they awakened their skills were updated automatically.

GREEN BARON - Um, it's Madoc, not Maddoc. You're getting thrown by the fact that his human alias is "Maddox", and therefore unwittingly inserting the extra d in his fay name. (Maybe we should have made it "Nicholas Madox, to avoid this confusion, which keeps on popping up among our readers).

Admittedly, there are some anachronisms in the depiction of the humans in the flashbacks, but considering that the original series had stone castles in 10th century Scotland (in the actual tenth century, castles were made out of wood), I think that it's excusable. And, as you'll see in the flashbacks of "The Rising Part Two", this isn't exactly the past of history so much as the past of legend....

SEASON 1 EPISODE ARCHIVE-- It was always up and working. I just checked it a few mins ago.

BUGS-- OK, the bug for The Rising pics not being shown is legit. I might have to upload the ep again to see if that works. Same thing with the counter bug. I might have to upload that too.

If you find any bugs whatsoever about this site, please post it here. I'll go check them out and attempt to fix it all.

Till next time...

**An unusual looking man in a green three-piece suit appears in the doorway of the Comment Room. He appears familiar, but he has not been here for a while. It's the Green Baron, who has decided to stop lurking.**

Hello everyone. I'm, back.

Wilek> Clones. What's with all the clones.

TGS> SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished the Rising and it was great. I now know a little more about Umbriel and his heritage. He is a halfling and he is reluctant to join the Unseelies. He seems like a reluctant hero type, though his true colors will be shown in upcoming stories. Is he Oberon's illegitamite son?

Maddoc does appear much more evil than last season. He is certainly a good classical villain and an evil Uncle, though he is not evil to his nephew. I was surprised about Maddoc's relationship with Maeve. I thought they were Mother and Son, myself, though I suspected that he was Oberon's brother for some time.

Loki appears to be an evil Puck, since Puck was not that malicious. As for some of the names, I don't recall Sumeria existing 11,000 years ago. If anything, I don't know of any Civilzation existing then, except for some Neolithic or Mesolithic stone age tribes.

END SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Todd> I must get ahold of your sources. I never knew about Brocken. I do have a 70+ year old book title Asgard, Home of the gods, which has some greta information on Norse Mythology.

*an unearthy stillness fills the CR. Seconds later an explosion sounds and Static appears from the middle of the room flying toward a wall. Static crashes into the wall and slides down to the ground*

Ugh, I gotta work on my hyperdrive... I could get LOST (Yes, I have been watching the LiS movie alot). Anyway, let me get to answering ppl who have replied...

Merlin Missy: I want to compliment you. Your mind seems to follow a seemingly random links of thoughts as does mine. How did I inspire a cabbie-fey from saying I needed to snub fey? Nice picture, though. I think it would be fun. (Probably as interesting as riding with Natty, from Spike's stories.)

Theresa: First, I like how you spell your name. I spell it the same way when I use it in stories. :-) Thanks for the Gargoyle/Christmas info. I had totally forgotten that they celebrate the winter solstice.

Wilek: Who would do my voice? Hmmm... Matthew Perry from Friends. I dunno if I sound like him IRL, but his voice -- mind you not Chandler's inflections -- would quite adequately portray Static-Pulse's persona.

Well, that should cover it. *Static checks his energy reserves and nods* See you guys later. *Static presses a button and disappears much like he appeared as he is lauched into cyberspace*

The name "Umbriel" also crops up in Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock", a mock-epic written in the early 18th century, where he is the leader of the gnomes - although I believe that we got the name from the moon of Uranus instead, because of its proximity to Oberon and Titania. (More recently, another moon of Uranus was discovered and named "Puck", which ought to delight a lot of people here).

Garlon, incidentally, is partly based (although in a very roundabout sort of way) on the Invisible Assassin in "Generations", although all that we really took from that TGC episode was the notion of a scheming villain who could turn invisible.

26,400 People or whatever, have crossed these portals before me. The counter stills works. My suggestion, based on the fact I have to reprogram all my shortcut keys, is check your URL and reset. When the room went down all my shortcuts insist that we can't be reached. I have problems with the pictures not downloading also. What I do is check both the text site and the TGS site. I usually can get a picture down load on one of them. Webtv has shortcoming true, but most of the time I do get everything. For example, I can get access to Coyote's zip files, but not UGFEM's. A friend's trying to get me a copy there.

On Mercy Point, Salli was the CO for the sick soldies who came in. She was the one with the lip lock on the doctor.

Highlander the Raven will be on tonight here in Albuquerque. I Think this is the second episode.

Want to know more about Loki, Garlon, and Umbriel? Go back and read TGS Season One carefully. None of them are new characters... they were all introduced last season.

We will archive the season two eps in chronological order, beginning with "The Rising part 1."

Something worth watching on UPN besides "Voyager"? Hmm... I may have to check that out.

The guy's name was Balder, not Balor. He was the Norse god of male beauty, and a really nice guy. Loki really proved his evil by killing him, in that most famous of Norse myths.

Allison: Loki was a bad god of mischief in Norse mythology. He was the main bad guy, the father of lies, the trickster, you get the idea. In TGS, he is the Unseelies' answer to Puck. Umbriel is the name of a fairy in Celtic legend, I think. I think it's also the name of one of Saturn's moons, along with Titania and Oberon. In TGS, he is Madoc's half-human nephew, who is somewhat beginning to doubt whether the Unseelies' plots to take over the world are the right thing. Garlon was a bad knight in the legends of King Arthur, he was one of the ones with supernatural abilities (most famous of these is the Green Knight, I think). In TGS, he is Madoc's main thug and lieutenant, the Owen to Madoc's Xanatos. He hired mercenaries for Madoc's plots (including George Harrison, the Pack, and Castaway) all throughout the first season and may do more of that in the second. We shall see. For now, that is all I know.

Coyote: Missed you, man! Welcome back!

Wilek: (Fanfic Material Alert!) Thanks for mentioning Darth Vader and the Emperor. I got a lot of my inspiration for Agony and Silvan from those two. :) Lord Soth and Raistlin (Dragonlance), Padan Fain and Asmodeus (Wheel of Time series), Zakath and Cyradi (David Eddings' Mallorean series), Skeletor and Tri-Klops (He-Man cartoons), Max Radl (Jack Higgins' book The Eagle Has Landed), the various historical figures who Agony "was", and many other characters I can't recall right now provided inspiration for them. So good of you to rekindle my memories. <grin> By the way, if you want to use my evil Borg-drone-clone Guod and Kitainia's psychotic evil Hyena-type clone Asil in your clone war, feel free to go right ahead. (End Fanfic Material.)

Okay, that's all for now. Later.

Hi everybody! (Don't mind me, I'm just really happy 'cos I'll have a hot shower tonight. There's been a bit of a gas crisis in RL. All those living in Victoria will know what I'm talking about.)
Wilek and Co.: Good luck. May the force be with you.
Allison: I don't know anything about Gorlon and Umbriel (sp?), but Loki is the God of Fire in Norse Mythology. He started out as a trickster, then he got mean. He was responsible for the death of Balor, a really nice god - he tricked the guy's brother into killing him with a dart of mistletoe (long story behind that one), and did a heap of other things. In the end, the gods chained him to a rock with a poisonous snake above it. The Norse believed that earthquakes were caused by him writhing in agony when the snake's venom fell into his eyes. Eventually he escaped and lead the Frost Giants against the Gods during Raganok. IMHO, he's a P****. (But the myths are pretty wild, aren't they?)
Coyote> Will the clan from Dark Ages be in WCC? I know you can't use younger versions of the clan, like Goliath and Demona, but what about the others? (Strange Mental Image that just buzzed into my head - Roland running, screaming, down the street, pursued by Asrial, who has discovered the wonders of modern technology and whipped up a space ship equipped with weapons the size of Mr Carter. <g>)
The new TD season doesn't begin until January? Bummer. Wonder who'll do the countdown for that? *Todd starts grinning manically as he realises he has a new way of torturing the CR people.* Opps. Me and my big mouth. :)
Calvin and Hobbes were legends. I never did the running- across-the-lawn-butt-naked thing, but I bet my parents felt a lot like his did sometimes. There was a boy down the street from me, and man, we were the living, breathing version of Calvin and Hobbes (He was Hobbes), and the terrors of the neighbourhood. Small animals bolted when they saw us coming. Old people retreated for the safety of their homes. *nostalgic sigh* Life is grand when you're a kid, isn't it? ;)

Oh, and I will be looking into tome_4.zip probably tomorrow night. More than likely I screwed up when I saved the file before zipping them.

About "Pendragon": Given that "Pendragon" will be more interwoven with "Gargoyles" this season, it's probably not a bad idea to go back and read Season One. Be warned; due to the misguided policies of an early "Pendragon" head, it's more Arthurian retellings than actual adventures in the early part, but it gets better as it goes on. We promise that for Season Two, "Pendragon" will be more focused on Arthur's adventures in the present day and on Griff and his fellow London gargoyles.

SPOILERS WARNING

I enjoyed the Rising pt.1 as a good intro to the new season. I fully expect to see a lot of new characters fleshed out.

**Sevarius Jr. flies into the comment room in the brand new starfighter he received from Wilek. He gently touches down, and jumps out, holding his helmet in his hand. He's wearing a leather bomber jacket with the TGS logo on the back**

Oh great, according to Wilek's post, it looks like there's another clone revolt. Geez, what's that, like the third one I've had this week? I swear, you can't teach a clone manners. Darn near impossible.

Wilek: Yeah, I know dad's dressing up again. But I don't mind this time, I mean, at least he ain't wearing something from the Victoria Secret's catalogue. But the actor who plays Lurch has been hanging out at the house lately....kinda creeps me out.

As for if there were more than one alien...I don't think so. Let's just hope that Raoul is a one of a kind. It took me forever to clean the acid outta the carpet last time I cloned one of those buggers.

Oh well, I gotta go see if I can kill me some evil clones and shut the door to my closet of horrors. Ta ta, everybody.

**SJ walks back to his starfighter....only to see Buick sniffing it curiously.

"Oh no! No no no! My car was one thing, but you ain't touching my ship!"

Buick just looks at him quizzically, his head cocked to one side.

"This time I'm prepared!" SJ whips out an aerosol can from his pocket. The label reads: DOGGOYLE REPELLANT.
He sprays Buick, until a large, noxious cloud has filled the comment room.
After much coughing and choking by SJ, the cloud disappears to reveal...SJ (holding an empty can) and one, very angry doggoyle. Buick starts to growl.

"Heh heh. Can't you take a joke?" Buick snarls a negative, as he chases SJ out of the comment room.....**

Todd: No wonder Madoc's mentally disturbed! If I hadn't had a date in over a thousand years, I know I would be. Too bad him and Maeve aren't together, I always thought they would make a good couple. (Guess I need to change part of my Unseelie filk song.) Oh well, it's still a good story. Hopefully, sometime in an upcoming ep we'll see Titania slap Madoc across the face. <grin>

(Warning: Fanfic-related material ahead!)
Brian: I'll send you a copy as soon as I get home. (I'm typing this on a University Library computer, don't have the story with me.) Glad you're enjoying my work, thanks for the feedback.

To answer your questions, first of all I used the Fox cartoon Spiderman because I was more familiar with him than the comic one. Except for newspaper ones and Knights of the Dinner Table, I really don't read comics that much. However, I've also incorporated parts of the comic that I like and know about into my work. A major example is Richard Fisk getting out of jail and becoming the crimelord known as the Rose. In the cartoon, the last we saw of him he was still in prison. In my fic, well, you've been reading it, so you know he's one of the five main antagonists (others being Silvan, and (eventually) Mackovic, Madoc, and Thailog). Spiderman himself also isn't in my fic right now, but he'll come back for the finale, maybe. The bad guys from his world, like Rose and Kingpin, are still around. I have a later fic planned called "Capture" where Seth and Demona will hunt the Kingpin together and take him down. Rose will play a major part in that one, as well as in "Maximum Force" (Guatemalan gargs vs. druglord Paco Cruz), "Dungeon Fortress" (one of those "inmates take over the prison" stories), and a few others. Spiderman will be gone, but for a long while the crimelords will remain.

Thailog's sacrifice, the Egon Pax assassination attempt, the defeat of the Quarrymen, and several other events I allude to in my work happened in the Goliath Chronicles. When I first started writing, I thought they were canon, and I liked them somewhat, so I incorporated them into my work. It sparked a chorus of boos, but I don't think I can do without them with what I've got going and have planned ahead, so they've stayed. Parts of TGS are in there as well, like the Unseelie Court and Brooklyn's family. Hope you continue to enjoy my work, and I soon get the e-mailed feedback earlier mentioned from you. Thank you for what you've said so far. Happy reading!

Okay, that's all for now. Later!

I'm concerned. I've never so much as cracked a file of "Pendragon"; I've kept mostly to TD and Gargoyles. Will I need to go back and read all the back episodes to make heads or tails of this season?

Oh, yeah, direct this to your TD writing staff: HURRY UP! YOU CAN'T EXPECT US ALL TO WAIT UNTIL JANUARY!!!!!

Yes, that was a deliberate reference to "The Lion King" (Madoc has just enough resemblance to Scar in motive to make it irresistible) - kind of like the line that I suggested (and which was accepted) for Lexington about Brooklyn's change in "Out of Joint Part Two" ("Our trio's down to two") - again, it struck me as perfect. (Of course, the original series also got in a "Lion King" reference in the bit in "Awakening" where Hudson's channel-surfing).

RAVYN - The Brocken is a real mountain in Germany, believed to be an abode of witches and demons in German legend; Goethe made it the site of a Witches' Sabbath in "Faust". It struck me as a very appropriate place for the Unseelie Court's headquarters, thereby. (Oddly enough, Goethe also set a "Golden Wedding of Oberon and Titania" there, complete with guest appearances from Puck and Ariel).

BRIAN - Madoc and Maeve are not married or romantically involved in any way at all, actually; they're just partners. On good terms with each other, but more in the manner of Elisa and Matt. It's Titania that Madoc desires, not Maeve. (Actually, Merlin's mother is, IMHO, the only person that Madoc's ever "done it" with).

[Wilek, Miriam, Wavers, Seri, and a few others Gate in for a quick post before they return to reading the future of TGS.] Hi all.

I'd like to introduce the "few others." The winged Alien is my new pet, Raoul (Thanks SJ!). Major cyber cookie to whoever can guess why I named him that. It's really obscure. The seven foot tall bat-wolf mutate built like Goliath on steroids is Jake Laughton. The attractive female bat-fox mutate is his wife Teri. The Dracula looking guy is Anoth Mitaxis. The psycho guy in the silver cape, black mask, Freddy gloves, and wide brimmed hat is Forfexx Argentum. And you can all recognize my kewl clone Wilek Krueger. We've all read the first three years of TGS and we're about to read the next three after we finish here. (You won't believe what happens to Sata!)

***RISING SPOILER WARNING***
I liked the ep, but it stinks that it gave a major Timedancer spoiler. I mean, the end of "Gros Bon Ange" left me totally creeped out as to what could be in the Gate. Then in the Rising we find out it's what amounts to Puck's evil twin. Yawn. If I'd written the thing, it probably would have been something right out of The Exorcist. Maybe Dahak or something like that. Although I loved the creepy scene where Madoc summoned his castle. Hey I wonder what would happen if I showed up at the PIT Halloween party...I'll have to Gate there when I finish reading the future of TGS. :)
***END RISING SPOILER***

I too loved Calvin and Hobbes. I wonder how they'd react to meeting a garg...

Be Prepared> I filked this for WCC recently. I think it's in last week's room. It would also go well with the Unseelie, although I don't know enough about them to try it. Be Prepared is my favorite Disney animated movie song ever. My favorite Disney song ever, outside of animation, is Shadowland from the Lion King Broadway stage show. Has anyone else here heard that?

Coyote> I've been thinking about something. In your fic universe, how in the world did Goliath and Elisa have a kid? I thought humans and gargs were too genetically different to allow that, according to Greg. Did Alex help?

SJ> Bad news: Dad's dressing up again. This time as Gomez Addams. Watch "Addams Family Reunion". At least he's dressing as the right gender this time. Ack. BTW, the stuff I have at the Dark Star looks an awful lot like Imperial gear. If its ID code has a ZXC-71 prefix, don't blow it up. Wait a minute...AlienS plural? There's more than one running around here? Uh oh...

Merlin Missy> Glad to see you again. That pic is the single weirdest thing I've ever seen. Not that that's a bad thing. :) Hey, you draw a *lot* better than I do. I can barely draw a stick figure without moving the ruler. Also, I have a fic up at the Avalon Archive. Page through it and see if you can find the reference to "Forever". :)

Well, must run, all! Deflagrate muri tempi et intervallia! [They disappear six years into the future...then reappear. They look like they've been in a war. Several are hurt, Jake has an eyepatch over his left eye, and Wilek Krueger is nowhere to be seen.] Guys, you won't believe this. Six years ahead, my psychotic clones and Coyote's psychotic clones have taken over the world. TGS has been destroyed, Station Eight is in hiding, Wilek Krueger was killed, most of Goliath's clan is dead...

[The screen comes on with a view of the clones of Wilek and the clones of Coyote in SJ's lab. The lead clone, Wilek Fieger the Second, speaks. "Hello all. We tire of being killed left and right simply because you envy our superiority. We clones will inherit the earth from you. And we'll do it with the help of what's in here." The clones open the closet door and allow the horrors within to escape into the world.] No...it's happening...just like they said in 2004...NOOOO! [To be continued...]

(Brian runs into the room screeming , and covered with large , red , ants . He screams as he brushes them off of himself frantically . Getting the last one off him he then proceeds to stamp them flat on the floor .) Man , those things are serious . I'm gong to have a talk with SJ's Dad or that freako in the basement about these things , they've totally overrun my house . But in this case it might have been another geneticist , I'm getting tired of alway blaming these things on those guys .

Greetings people .

Doug : Please send me a copy of the fic . I must say I have grown to enjoy your work . But just out of curiosity , why did you choose to use the fox cartoon Spider Man instead of the comic version where you have a lot more stories to choose from and he is so much more powerful .(ie - in the comic he can press ten tonnes easy and in the cartoon he has trouble tearing open a hatch .) . You'll have to forgive me their I am a Spiderman loyalist , it is officially my favourite comic . Oh and another important matter to me . When did all the things mentioned , like Thailog's sacrifice , happen . Do you have those stories somewhere else or did you just put that in .

*******Spoiler Start*******
Todd/Kathy : Did Madoc , uh , seed the soil , resulting in Merlin's conception before or after he married Maeve . She strikes me as a human hater and not exactly the type to share her Fay .
******Spoiler end******

(Brian summons up one of his portals , reaches through and pulls through a welding mask and a flame thrower with three large tanks of napalm on a harness . He ignites the pilot light , lowers the visor and walks out to take care of his infestation . )

Mandi> No, we're not lacking for writers, since we just got on some new ones before the end of the summer, but let me know if your workload lessens. I'll keep you in mind for Dark Ages.

Dark Ages> The next season is still in the planning stages. As Kathy and I said before, we will let everyone know when it will arrive.

Aerie> Thanks for the comments on the profile page. Sheesh! Didn't mean to start a wave of "Calvin&Hobbes" comments! :) I loved that series dearly. It holds a special place in my heart, because I see a lot of my younger self in Calvin, and I often wonder if Bill lived next door to my family at one time or another, because I see Calvin doing a lot of what I did at that age (although I never stripped and ran around the front yard in my birthday suit!) <grin>

For the comments on the staff, and the work we did, Thanks all . . . we did our best.

Congratulations on a fantastic first episode for Season 2!

One question: This bit about Gargoyles and Pendragon being merged for this season - how are you going to decide where to archive a given episode?

Also - Someone suggested that we think of this as one of those big comic book crossovers. Well, said crossovers still have one issue of each title per month, exactly as when there are no cross-overs happening. Likewise, I would very much like to see one ep each of Gargoyles and Pendragon this season, just like last season. Note that I have no problem with the use of both series to tell a single story, nor do I have any problem with characters who star in one series appearing in the other if the plot warrants it; I just want the one ep per day, Monday through Thursday, to continue through this season.

One final request: are there any plans to make use of the Cyberclan (Coldstone, Coldsteel, and Coldfire) this season?

Ravyn: You weren't the only one who thought of "Lion King" when that scene happened. Madoc is Scar, Morrigan is Shenzi, Loki is Banzai, and let me think, who could be Ed?

Calvin and Hobbes: Ah, I miss that comic, too. It was great. Good plots, good characters, good jokes, great philisophical wisdom, I loved it all. I especially liked the snowmen, Calvin's neverending war with his babysitter, and that cardboard box that could be a time machine, duplicator, transmorgifier, world's most powerful computer costume, or whatever Calvin and Hobbes wanted it to. Calvinball was good, too. I constantly try to get my friends to play it, so far little success with anyone but Jim, Tricia, and Lisa/Kitainia. Too bad it all had to go away. Oh well, all things come to an end, even the good ones, sadly. Like my favorite slogan of the comic's goes, "The problem with the future is it keeps turning into the present."

(Warning: Episode Spoilers Ahead!)
I will critique The Rising now. Great job, TGS folk! Madoc, Umbriel, Maeve, Goliath, Lex, Broadway, Demona, Angela, Brooklyn, Sata, Elisa, and the twins were all well-charecterized. The plot also ruled, it was a great set-up for the events of the new season and the dynamic action I expect to see in Part 2. (I love action, and TGS has written it well so far.) It was also good to see some of the fay's history, and the source of the rivalry between Madoc and Oberon as well as why they look so much alike. (Needless to say, I'll be incorporating all the flashbacks in both parts of The Rising into my fanfic saga with appropriate credit given where it's due.) This ep was partially intended to get us all interested in and excited about the new season, and it worked on me. I hope and know that everyone at TGS will keep up the good work.

(End Episode Spoilers.)

Kitainia's Reference: Alright, I'll go ahead and tell everybody where that came from, seeing as I have her permission and the thread's been dropped in here. The line "Oh joy! Oh rapture! Oh no!" belongs to Garfield the Cat. It was said in his Thanksgiving holiday special, in which he is put on a diet the day before Thanksgiving. Figuring that if he can't enjoy it, no one else should be able to, he further sabotages Jon's already horribly prepared dinner. Then the vet takes him off the diet on Thanksgiving to let him take a rest and get the stress off him temporarily, and well, you can guess why Garfield says the above line. (But really, it's not the same without his expression.) Fortunately, Jon's Grandma shows up just in time to save the dinner and the day, so happy ending all around.

Fanfic News: (Shameless Plug Warning!) Still waiting for Chris to fix his submission form so I can post the next one. If anybody wants a copy early, just let me know and I'll e-mail you one. I should get it up soon, this is just in case anybody's having trouble waiting. (I already mailed you a copy, Mandi, since you seem so enthusiastic to see Fox kill Sevarius and kick Muscles Malone's military-minded jerk gang leader tush. Even if that is only a small part of the main focus of the story, which is a partial explanation of Silvan's motives and the introduction of Changeling.)

In other news, my next planned fanfic is going to be a big one, involving the New Olympians and their attempts to gain acceptance by the rest of the world. They will find it easier than in Greg's original plan, at least until Silvan has my universe's Thailog and the Ultra-Pack (yes, we will finally get to see them in action) screw things up. Taurus, Proteus, Helios, Sphinx, Terry, Boreas, etc will all put in appearances, some more important than others. So will at least three original New Olympians, Coyote 7, and the Ultra-Pack's fifth member (Not Lobo, in my fanfic universe it's a guy named Stray). More about it in the main Gargoyles CR, hope my readers look forward to the idea.

Okay, that's all for now. Later!

Hi, everyone! Wow! Things have been kinda busy around here (it's Homecoming week...;) ), so finally I was able to sit down and read "The Rising" just a couple minutes ago! Fantastic stuff! My sincerest congratulations to all the staff members on a great Season 2 Premeire!

**SPOILERS BEGIN NOW!**

I really liked the references to Celtic and even some Egyptian deities in "The Rising!" I hate to sound dumb, but can anyone tell me if there's some kind of legend or something about Brocken, Germany? It's really interesting what the Unseelie have created there...and I think Umbriel is gonna have to play some big part later on. And maybe it was just me, but when Madoc was rallying the Unseelie to join him and leave Avalon, I immediately thought of Scar's song from the Lion King...:)

**SPOILERS ARE FINISHED!**

Theresa> Man, oh man, do I miss Calvin & Hobbes! I loved the "Transmogrifier," and everything else in that wonderful comic! And it seems like you have some nice plans for that dress material! Me, I like to sew, but can't make anything that looks remotely good...heck, I've worked on cars more than I've sewn stuff...;)

Can't wait til Rising part 2...can't wait for Rising part 2... :)

Todd< My apologies. I thought it was next week. Sorry to all who's sense of airing direction I just screwed up for Pendragon. But the Rising part two IS next week, never fear.

Stephen< Howdy. *takes a gander at the pic* I love Calvin and Hobbes and Lucasfilms. T'was a pity when the good ol' upstart and his tiger retired. At least for my local newspaper. I haven't found him yet; the Crusade Continues...

ED< Hrm, man, that would be awesome if we could ever animate ... I wish. :) Still, we could use your opening and ending credits stuff in our imaginations. It'd spice stuff up even more (Things go boom). :)

Well, time to head off for some studying. 'Francais', anyone? :) A tout a l'heure, all that good stuff.

Glad to see y'all are enjoying "The Rising part 1". Trust us, if you liked this ep, the rest will blow you away.

Now, for an explanation of the Gargoyles/Pendragon crossover:

We have a giant crossover story going this season between Gargoyles and Pendragon - right? I don't think anybody doesn't understand that. Some stories are set in Europe, some are set in America, some are set in both. For all intents and purposes there is no Gargoyles this season nor Pendragon: it's The Gargoyle Saga.

Hope this clears things up.

Chronologywise, TGS has to lag a bit behind the real world perforce, because we chose to ignore the Goliath Chronicles (except for "The Journey"). The first season ends in the October of 1997 ("Reprisals" and "Quest's End"). "The Rising" is set at the end of October 1997, mostly Halloween night. Over the coming season, we'll try to get caught up to the present, so that it'll be 1999 by the end of Season Two.

Merlin> Great picture! I'm in a school computer lab right now and had to choke back the laughter so other students won't look at me funny. It's hard enough being a gargoyle :)

Duece brought up a good question, what is the year that Gargoyles and Pendragon are set in? Sometimes it seems like 1996 or 1997, other times 1998. Any comments, TGS staff?

"The Rising Part Two" is *not*, I repeat, *not*, a Pendragon episode. It is a "Gargoyles" episode. The episode *following* "The Rising Part Two" (to be released on the 19th of October, 13 days from now) will be the first episode of "Pendragon" for this season.

I just wanted to stop by and praise everyone involved in TGS. 'The Rising' Part 1 is a magnificent story, and I can't wait to see the next part.

On a related topic, I'm curious about how Gargoyles and Pendragon will merge schedule-wise. Is 'The Rising' Part 2 the first episode of Pendragon season 2?

(I save the TGS stories to disk, but I save Gargoyles and Pendragon on seperate disks. Will the two series be massively crossing over, or will it just be a unifying theme that will link them? When saving Gargoyles and Pendragon this season, do I save it - 'The Rising 1', 'The Rising 2', Pendragon, Gargoyles, Pendragon, Gargoyles, etc. or do I continue to save them on seperate disks?)

I think I didn't make my earlier question clear: What I meant to ask was, if Pendragon and Gargoyles will be interwoven this season, will we still get an episode of Pendragon and an episode of Gargoyles each week? Or will we have to settle for an ep of one or the other each week instead of both airing?

When I asked how the crossover would be set up, I meant in terms of general airing order. I know you're not allowed to divulge spoilers, but specifics about what is airing when and how often should be okay. :)

Stephen -- Is Dark Ages delayed because of a lack of writing staff? *wink, nudge* No, I'm kidding, really. I was tempted to ask after the Gathering, but I've already got a lot on my plate as it is.

And I do have a relevant question for the TGS staff: Would you accept donations of TGS fan drawings from those not on the art staff? If not, what about linking to a separate archive of non-staff fan-drawn TGS art? Not that I have anything decent done, but it was a thought that came to mind. ;)

Missy -- Don't put down your own work. Ever. The pic is hysterical!

Well, since we can't count down until the Rising anymore...

1 day, 4 hours, 47 minutes, and 6 seconds before Mandi goes home for Fall Break!!! (Nooo, I'm not impatient!)

'Tis all...

Hi all!

Here's an interesting idea. How do you picture THE RISING introduction (and maybe ending)? To clarify:

Whenever I read an ep of TGS or of any fanfic really, I often imagine it just like the original animated series, and I imagine everyone else does, or something not too different. It often annoys those around me that they can tell what's happening in the story by the music I'm humming (taken from the original series). Anyway, the point is, if TGS was a TV series and you were thrown in the deep end to do the first ep of the new season, what build up would you do to it?

Here's what I'd do:

There's a black screen, and then, in that gold new TGS font (like the words "Comment Room" are written in at the top here), the words at the very bottom of the CR are written ("October 5th, 1998/ A day that will never be forgotten/ The stage has been set/ The players are ready/ Prepare for Ragnarok!"). A drum beat would sound as each line replaced the other on the screen. And then when Ragnarok comes up, I'd have the music starting up, just like when you've got your sun setting on the normal intro. At that point you'd have the Gargoyles logo in small up the top, and the normal blue fonted "THE RISING" and beneath, with a small delay, appearing "PART ONE" and then, after that the credits for Kathy and Todd. Then the normal tune plays quietly, and instead of a normal introduction scene, you get the scene from REPRISALS with Owen and David, although transparent, so you can see normal pictures. Then, at the end of that, it goes dark again, and you have the "THE RISING" and "PART ONE" appear again, as in normal eps this time, and then the little bit saying "BROCKEN, GERMANY" appear at the bottom, and on and on etc.

For the end, ***INCLUDES SPOILERS FROM END OF EP*** I'd have the screen go black as you see the Unseelie army setting out (after the grain of truth bit). There'd be Madoc's shout of "And so we begin anew" heard, and then the ending in text just like the beginning, of "Out of the trees came the Unseelie Ride/ They galloped into Columbus Circle/ They charged down Broadway/ and headed towards Times Square/ The hooves of the steeds struck fire upon the pavement/ and the yell-hounds and Garm howled wildly as they ran/ TO BE CONTINUED... The music would build up until after "anew" and then stop, and the text would go past in silence. ***NO MORE SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT***

Anybody else got any ideas for a special introduction to the new series?

And Christine: Very, very well put indeed. :)

Wanted to say for the record that the TGS Staff are _great_!!! What you're doing, the magnitude of this project, and the fact that it has worked so well with a minimum of bloodshed, is truly impressive! I should probably go look this up, but I figured I'd get a quicker answer here. Was there a Chrismas TGS ep? I know there was a Thankgiving one, and then it dropped into the whole affair with Dr. Goldblum (sp?) and the Yaks, so O can't quite remember. Thanks.

Part two of the Rising will air next week as well as the
first episode of this season's Pendragon.

That's not quite it, Aerie. Next week is "The Rising Part Two", and the week *after* that is the first episode of this season's Pendragon. Please try to get things straight.

Personally, I liked Thomas Revor's reading. As I read it myself, I kept hearing his voice and how he read it. True, it was not too much of a surprise, but I liked sharing the experience of hearing the Rising with a large group of Garg fans.

Mandi > Think of it this way. We have such a big story to tell this season that we've incorporated the casts from Gargoyles and Pendragon to tell it. It's kind of like one of those mega crossovers that they do in the comics occasionally. So the way it's going to work is every Monday from now until the end of the season *knock on virtual wood* you'll get a new Gargoyles episode. Sometimes they'll take place in the UK, sometimes they'll take place in Manhattan and sometimes - just because we want to - everyone will get into the action!
So sit back, make sure your seat belt is firmly buckled and enjoy the ride.

**THIS WHOLE MESSAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE ELEVEN PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T READ "THE RISING I", GET YER ASPHALT DOWN THERE AND READ IT!**

Whoa. Nice. I've just been sitting on my backside all summer, reading back episodes I missed, and waiting, and waiting. It was worth it. The only gripe I had was that the flashbacks never showed the Unseelie/Oberon battle, but I guess that's for next week.

Regarding that thing Auburn Red said about the Children not being biological: no, they're probably not. But if you get into mythology (esp. Greek, like I'm doing in English), you'll see that certain gods like Zeus had a hard time keeping their loincloths on, if you get my drift.... I wouldn't put it past Big Blue to be the literal father of quite a few of his figurative Children.

MORE SPOILERS: Why is TGS turning into MopeFest '98? (Or '96, if they're still suffering from series-lag). Angela's depressed, Lex is depressed, Elisa seems less than happy... and then there's Madoc. Whoa. Attitude problem.

Anyway, gotta fly (figuratively). Still lots of homework to do. UNTIL NEXT WEEK!!!

Just stopping in to ask what might be a stupid question:

How exactly are Pendragon and Gargoyles going to collide? That is, is part two of the Rising coming next week as a Pendragon ep? I didn't understand the explanation of the airing order, and was thinking that it was along the lines of an episode of each every two weeks, alternating. Is that really what's going to happen, or will we get an ep of Pendragon and an ep of Gargoyles each week?

Just wondering so I know how to set my impatience level. :)

All who've been didcussing it> I thought that Mab was an alternate spelling for Medb, who as we all know, is none other than Maeve of the Unseelie. Also, on the Danu issue, lots of ancient European cultures has Mother-goddesses with similar names, i.e. Doni, Dona, Duna, Duni, Dana. It's been postulated that these all come from one common cultural/religious root or figure, and they definately appear in the modern Romance languages. Hello Nice People in the Room!!!!
To those of you that don't know me *takes a look around* that would be most of you, Hi, I'm kathy and I work for TGS.
Next week the Wild Ride begins, but that's all the spoiler you get from me! We worked too hard to revel more. Right, Todd?
To those of you that are looking forward to TimeDancer and Dark Ages I've got good news and bad news: The good news is that both series are in production now. TimeDancer is set to make its 2nd season debut in Jan'99. The bad news is we're having a little bit of trouble translating Brother Edmund's journals, (he had this annoying habit of alternating between Old English and Latin, you see) and Hudson hasn't been willing to talk about the old days much. So the series may premire a little bit later than we'd planned. But keep the faith, we're working hard to make sure you get your fixes.
In the meantime, enjoy this season's super- crossover TGS special where Gargoyles and Pendragon collide!

DumlaoX: *laughs* What a shame, with that first post… you've got the atmosphere so well built up, and then you put in the server troubles note ;) Never mind! :)

On with comments!!

The One Eyed Squid: I agree on action. I always find it rather annoying, really. At times it's very neat, and TGS has some examples of wonderfully written action scenes (IMHO at least), but the story is the best part of fanfics, as, unlike the TV show, short, smooth scenes are difficult to manage. I always thought TGS managed it pretty well.

***LOTS OF THESE SPOILER THINGS AHEAD***

It feels weird doing that again… :) Heh…

Anyway, the ep kicked off nicely. I thought Todd & Kathy were a little flashback skimpy, considering all the plot points tied together, but there we go… The Brocken scenes were very nicely done, giving careful insights into the past of the Court, without bombarding info. Umbriel's growing doubts throughout the ep proved a lovely addition to the otherwise linear tales of Madoc. But that's not to say it wasn't necessarily so, nor that I didn't enjoy those parts. The flashbacks were also quite nice… I liked the build up of Madoc there. One thing that was a bit overwhelming was the names and stuff bombarded at the reader throughout these sections. I realise it's all from mythology and stuff, but I think all the names and stuff were thrown out a tad fast. But that's just a small complaint, as I'm sure there'll be time to get used to all the characters and events throughout the series.

Back in New York, I like the reintroduction of each of the characters.
Lex: Very appropriate. The scene with Sata was particularly good.
Sata and the twins: On form, but not sensational. I sometimes wonder if they need more depth. But the twins also serve as a great break from the intensity of the rest of the events.
Hudson & Bronx: More in the background than anything else, but worth a mention for being well portrayed.
Angela: Some lovely bits in there.
Demona: Delightful insight.
BW: I feel sorry for the poor guy, but he's got a great role, that is both well developed from THE JOURNEY, without being changed too much. A balance well struck.
Brook: I feel a bit strange about him being fatherly. But I guess 40 years would do that to him.
Elisa: Pretty good. Nice scenes with Goliath.
Goliath: Umm… nice scenes with Elisa ;)

My fave bit of it, was at the end. I both love and hate cliff-hangers. But I love them overall. And this was absolutely lovely. I read through "It is time to begin" through to the end again and again and again, savouring it. It's lovely. Beautiful beat to it. I love it.

Anyway, very good introductory episode. It hasn't got the incredible climaxing power of REPRISALS or the mind blowing intrigue of CONSEQUENCES, nor perhaps even the significance of TURNCOAT. It does have the best build up since SOMETHING WICKED (although I sort of picked up on that, since I loved the title, if you remember back in S8- I helped the countdown for ages). It's a solid, good TGS story, which both acts as a marvellous reintroduction to the characters, and starts to shade in some old areas.

Only one note of frustration to add… if it took the Gargoyles 2 days to get there from REPRISALS, why did we have to wait 5 months??? ARGH!!!!!!! :)

(oh, and lovely pics Flynt!)

*Sigh* Since some people still seem to be missing the message that Dumlao's posted so many times in the comment room already, I'll repeat it.

"The Rising Part One" is at the back-up site. Click on my name to get there.

The business about Danu rather than Mab being Oberon's mother is another case of our coming up with ideas before Greg Weisman announced his own, and by the time that he'd made his own announcement at "Ask Greg" it was too late to change it.

The name "Avallach" was taken from Welsh legend, where Avalon was sometimes referred to as "Ynys Avallach" or "The Isle of Avallach"; Avallach was a mysterious ruler over Avalon, of whom extremely little was known. Danu was a sort of mother-goddess in Irish mythology, and likewise a not-very-detailed figure. The Irish faerie-folk were named after her: the Tuatha de Danaan or the Children of Danu. (This seems to have been a case of literal descent, rather than "Oberon's Children", which is metaphorical).

[Wilek comes in.] Um, Doug? When you blew SJ's closet last week...that wasn't the closet he was referring to. That was his *dad's* closet from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Glad you blew it anyhow. :) (I have plans for SJ's closet of horrors in a Blaisism.)

I thought the ruler before Oberon was Oberon's psychotic mother Mab, who Oberon overthrew. That's what I read in Ask Greg anyhow. Was it changed for the same reason as the names of Brook's wife and kids were changed?

Brian (last week)> The Star Wars gear? Well...technically it belongs to Miriam's big mysterious organization. After the Empire cratered, Sienar Fleet Systems, Cygnus Spaceworks, and Kuat Drive Yards (among other manufacturers) were left without anyone to pay them. Miriam's big mys. org. was in need of a battle fleet. Thus, they commissioned the Dark Star. Also, I can in fact imagine Xanatos crying; there's a GFW archive fanfic called "I'm Sorry" which illustrates this. (Of course, I could also imagine the events of Kiki The Weird's "The Rescue". Or "The Escape"; I forget which.)

[SJ comes over and whispers something to Wilek.] Oh, it's ready? >:) Good. Is it leash-trained and housebroken? [SJ nods.] Lovely. Oh, and who was the host? [SJ whispers the answer to Wilek.] Oh good; I never liked him. Thank you SJ; ask Miriam about payment. Any starfighter you like...[SJ smiles evilly and runs off to find Miriam.]

The Rising part 1 was a great episode. I admit it was a little short on action. but, for some reason, I allways find action a little boring in the written form. One thing the episode had in ample amounts was plot. It's nice to see some of the fey history. I'm certainly intriged by the Dragon War a definetly want to here more about it. On another note, the Fey seemed rather human to me in the way they were portrayed when compared to how they were shown in the series. One final question, are Denu and the fey king, I forget his name, real myths or they entirly made up.

Would that reference be to The Gathering when Oberon call his children together???

OK, one rule here:

If you're gonna discuss the episode, please place in big letters:

***EPISODE SPOILERS BEGIN***

and

***EPISODE SPOILERS END***

That way you can discuss and people can avoid reading it till they read the ep.

Please continue to use my name as a link till the main site problem can be fixed. Thanx.

(Newgoyle backflips into the Comment Room with a shriek of joy, then proceeds to dance around, screaming 'THE RISING HAS BEGUN, THE RISING HAS BEGUN!!)
Whoo-Hoo! The wait is over!

Hey, can we talk about what has happened in the comment room, or will that spoil it for other people? (I remember someone else asking this question a few weeks ago, but I can't remember what the answer was.) Today, everybody will probably head for the archive first, but what about later on, and when Dark Ages and Timedancer start? Just like to know, before I start blabbering away and ruining it for everyone.

Congratulations to the TGS staff for writing a fantastic story.

TTFN!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh , few thingd feel better than a fix , absence truly does make the heart grow fonder . I have'nt felt such a feeling of satisfaction in ages . The story had all the elements that I look for : developments with Lex , attention to Goliath and Elisa , brewing trouble , insight to the past and all the others which I have missed so much over the past three months .
Well done TGS .

Hey, Supreme Gargoyle Webmasters! Finding no "current episode" available tonight, I tried to check the archives for the four series and got a "you don't have permission" error message. I presume there is some glitch in the system. Please fix ASAP; I look forward to the new season of TGS.

Thanks,

{Someone finds a note taped to the CR door}

It's a lot more crowded in here then I would have suspected. I'm the ninth person in here. I think.

Traveller: It's Shang Tsung, actually, but here's you another cookie.

** Hands him a chocolate chip cookie, as per request. **

Now, can anyone guess what movie Kitainia was inspired by? Hint: it's a made-for-TV animation. Good luck.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Oct. 5th, 1998

Murphy's Law- if anything can go wrong, it will.

Such was the case today. Actually we had everything all set for the big premiere tonight. The site was ready a day early. The pics were done weeks ago and the episode itself was done 2 months in advance. Everything was uploaded yesterday and all we had to do was wait for midnight to roll around in order to do this.

Unfortunately, Chris had to do something to his server.

As a result, the files are there in his jaz drive and he's in the process of doing a transfer from one server to another. Until that time, the only part of TGS that was working was the comment room.

Thank goodness we have backup servers for such an emergency.

Thanx to Patrick Toman, 1/3 of the website trio, he had access to the backup site and uploaded all we needed in a simple text format. Including The Rising part 1.

Such is the life of a TGS staffer. You prepare early. Disaster hits. You panic. You fix the problem. You save the day. You go to sleep happy.

I'll announce when the main site is back up. Actually, the comment room itself will do that. Once the pics come back, you know the main site has returned.

Till next time... enjoy season 2.

** Doug jets in and hands Traveler a chocolate chip cookie.**

You are correct, I was imitating Mortal Kombat. Another cookie to the person who knows what character I was quoting.

(Sorry, right now I'm a little high on life.)

That's all.

Lady Mystic: Now, and for all time so I will not be confused, on the Internet I am Kitainia.

6th!!

(Cyber-cake to whoever can guess where the inspiration for the following came from.)

The Rising has begun! Oh joy!! Oh rapture!! **The sounds of hoofbeats and wild howling and baying suddenly echo from outside the CR, seeming to be heading its way.** Oh no!!

**The Unseelie Ride comes charging into the CR, panicking fans and posters running out of its way as they ride through. Kitainia picks herself up and races after them, clicking her anklets together to call the other Ravens. They all will read the first episode of the new season, and in future RP Blaise-isms maybe kick some Unseelie bootie. :) **

Just me again.
Word of wisdom in the future: Don't do a major software or hardware upgrade the day you need your computer desperately. Happened WAY too many times to me, and I had to rush, or use another computer to finish the job (If I could!).

Is everyone waiting for Ragnarock?

I wish I knew how many people were hitting the site....

Sorry if I seem a little edgy.
