HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL YOU CRZY GARGS PPL! :) I'm back! <group hug>
Heather> I've given Lady Foxglove's address below. Tell her Wilek sent ya...and bring her some tacos for Jerry. ;) BTW, I got Starship Creator for Christmas, and I can see why you like it so much. If I ever figure out how to translate Coyote's pic of me and Miriam into the proper format, I'll write us in as crew members...might do it for a few of you too...
Yooper_99> Where do I live in fanfic...Well, I've been thinking of creating a fictional town for that purpose, actually.
Kyryn> Blue norther? Hm, sounds interesting. You know, this weird weather is especially creepy given that TGS has implied that the Unseelie are responsible for doing something to Earth's weather...
I saw the new Double Take pics earlier and they are HILARIOUS! The Demmy pic is almost exactly how I imagined her! Great work!
SJ> Loved the mini-RP conclusion!
A mere mortal babysitter for Alex? Hm, Miriam could probably handle it...
You know, us voting against Dr. Katz is ironic: A few months ago, we were frantically voting FOR it so we wouldn't have to go up against Batman. I love a plot twist. (BTW, our next match, once we win this one, will be against either Ren & Stimpy or Beavis and Butthead. WE WILL ANNIHILATE! >:D ) Oh, and we're at sixty-something percent. GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!!!
See y'all tomorrow...

Happy belated holidays. And here is a belated creativity demon that I had to post, even though its a few days late.

Kyryn comes in grinning.
I got some good stuff for Christmas!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
I would have posted earlier but RL has been keeping me rather busy.
***SPOILERS FOR DOUBLE TAKE***
I thought it was rather funny. I did like the scene with Xanatos in the toy store, but somehow it didn't quite grip me the way some of the other eps have.
***END SPOILERS FOR EP***
Just a comment about Prince of Egypt> WOW! I think that they did a great job on this.
Jackal> Yep, Denton, Texas is where my sweetie and my permanent address are. But after the new year it's back to Uvalde for a couple more months.
Robbie and Heather> Congrats and good luck with a long distance relationship! At least e-mail doesn't cost 10 cents or so a minute.
Stephen> Sorry to hear about the job. Here's to hopes for another with a better crew to work with soon.
Argent> Welcome. The only pic that is really off limits is that of DumlaoX.
To all the folks who are lonely at this time> **hugs** for the holidays from a friend.
Wilek> Regarding fast weather changes: Sounds like you had a 'blue norther' come through. I once got caught in one in Denton where the temp went from 80 degrees and sunny at 9am to 31 degrees and snowing by 12 noon.
Kyryn waves to everyone and leaves the CR

Quickie reply ...
Ravyn: I've been living in Michigan only the last nine or so years (since August of '89). Before then I moved around a lot with my mother who was in the Navy ... every three years, a new duty station and a big move. So most of my childhood was spent in California and Hawaii, with about three years in the middle in Washington (Coldstone: She was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island, FYI), which was my first experience with snow ... *anywhere.* And that's a pretty pathetic snow, at that; it lasts about half a day and gives way to yet more rain. Just so ya know why I will never adjust to Michigan winters. Although I don't know if I would be able to adjust to Arizona heat, either, although it would probably be better than Hawaiian heat (dry Arizona compared to wet Hawaii).
So there you have it ... the wild and wacky contrasts of continental US weather. :)

The room will be cleared later today, and we're barely at 150K! Man this feels wierd... Hmm, suppose I could always say hi to Heather on my way out...

Hey, all. Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply, but I went out this evening to Dave & Buster's (combination bar and grill/arcade for grownups!!). My eyes are blurring, so I will try to reply as best as I can (and no, I didn't drink any booze ... can't aim my gun if I'm drinkin' :)
USA Weekend poll: Someone in the other room thinks there are programs voting on both sides ... I know of at least one place which has this kind of program: the computer science department of Stanford University. Seriously. ESPNet holds a poll every year for favorite college mascots. Because of the above-mentioned program repeatedly voting for the Stanford Tree, the Tree was disqualified and banned for three years from the poll. (I suspect the reason why the Super Friends/Johnny Quest poll had over 76,000 votes was because of one of these programs.)
Robby: I am not romantically illiterate, nor am I disgusted by your affections. Believe me, I've seen worse ... tonight for instance (two of the folks I went with were my cousin and his wife.)
SJ: *L* Great little story there!
Ravyn: Yes, it certainly does. I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, we could have had a break in our huge cold snap here. Oh well ... cold isn't too bad once you get used to it ... but unfortunately, being a child of tropical weather all my life, I will *never* get used to Michigan winters. :)
**SPOILER WARNING FOR "CATS AND DOGS"**
Christine: That story ... has to be ... one of the most twisted writings I have *ever* had the privilege to read. And it kept getting more and more strange ... just like me. Good story.
**END SPOILER!!**
Carolynn: Boy, you're a hopeless romantic, aren't you? ;)
I tried that once, but the sheer price of postage to mail me (let's put it this way, 300 pounds does not go easy on the pocketbook at the post office) kind of wrecked things.
*sigh* Oh well ...
Oh, my look at the time. I must lapse into unconsciousness now!

Oii, the browser just did NOT want to work today... The Timedancer countdown for Saturday is 11 or 12 days. And since my browser may act up again and tommarrow is only two hours away, the Timedancer countdown for Sunday is 10 or 11.
Every time I try to vote or get the latest poll results at the USA site, I just get a forbidden message... And its been doing to me since last week when I voted for The Tick over Yogi Bear... Anyone else having this problem?
Carolynn- Interesting method for me and Heather to get together. Heck, I may try going in her direction using that method. A simple first class sticker only costs three bucks, while air fare costs a lot more... Hmmm...
Geez, only a handful of posts since last time I was on early yesterday morning... Can't wait till the CR fills up again... This is getting kinda dull...

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! *a huge truck backs up into the room, depositing two huge candy canes in front of Todd and Coyote* Nice guesses, you two :)
*L* I'd feel sorry for the baby-sitter. *checking her crystal ball* But you gotta admit, the future for psychiatrists are looking awfully bright if a lot of baby-sitters start showing up at the Eyrie building.
Durid< Sorry for the blow-up :( Just having something worked on so much shooed off as a filler kinda pricked me. But to each his/her own in matters of opinion; I'm sorry :( Candy cane?
Todd< You mean, they'd chew the tree and play "Rip the Rag" with the ornaments? We got an artificial tree last year, and our dogs only seem to want to eat them even more. Maybe it's the plastic taste...
Heather< Make Robby really happy this Christmas: Slap a "First Class" sticker to your eye and mail yourself to his house :) (But, if you want to be more conventional, take a plane. But I think the first way's more interesting :) ).

Gargoyles 50%, Katz 49%. You know, I went 10 minutes ago and the votes were about 14000. Now they are more than 16000. It seems there is some kind of voting program people are using to add a few hundred votes per minute. I don't know how else to explain it.

**WARNING: MINI-RP CONCLUSION****
This post will be all RP. I'm sorry, I know this is breaking a rule, but c'mon, it's Christmas, and it'll only happen this one time. I'll try to keep it relatively short. Besides, with so many people gone, the room isn't that big this week. So, here goes!
CHRISTMAS WITH THE SEVARIUS FAMILY, PART DEUCE (the number, not the person)
****************
Thailog is chasing Sevarius Jr. around the Christmas tree, brandishing a butcher knife.
"Come back here you worthless little---"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Dr. Sevarius and his wife embrace each other warmly.
"Isn't that cute?" Mrs. Sevarius says. "The boys are rough-housing."
Off to the side, Delilah is unsuccessfully trying to lead the Clones in Christmas carols. She finally gives up when Malibu eats his sheet music.
Suddenly, everyone hears a loud thump coming from the ceiling.
"Anton, what was that?" Mrs. Sevarius asks.
"I don't know dear. Could be those Gargoyles again. Better release the hounds."
(The Hounds, for those of you who aren't familiar with the pets of genetic madmen, are roughly the size of a full grown lion, and look a lot like those beast things in Invasion America.)
Abruptly, from the chimney erupts a large, fat red object.....
SJ and Thailog stop their chase. "San--Santa???" SJ asks, wide-eyed.
The jolly fat man, Saint Nick to his friends, straightens his red coat and sets down his bag of presents. "Well, let's see. Which house is this?" (An elf appears out of nowhere, and hands Santa a list.)
"Ah, the Sevarius Family. Well, it looks as if some of you have been very bad this year. Trying to take over the world , huh?" Thailog and Anton look down at their feet, uncomfortably.
"Hmm.....perhaps I shouldn't give any of you presents. Teach all of you a lesson. But you know what? I won't do that. I'm going to give each of you the best presents in my bag. And do you know why? Because I want to show you what Christmas is all about: Love. The simple act of caring for another, showing them compassion even though they may have done wrong. So...." Santa hands everyone a gift. "Enjoy Christmas. And remember: peace on earth, goodwill towards mankind. Love one another. And next Christmas, if you don't wise up, I'll dump so much coal on your asses you'll never see the light of day again. Understand? Ho ho ho, and all that jazz. Next house, Vinnie!"
And with that, the jolly old man, his stomach quivering like a bowl full of Jello, vanished back up through the chimney, taking the elf with him.
Everyone is dumbfounded for a moment.
"I....I guess he's right," Thailog says, a tear in his cold eyes. He turns to SJ. "Friends?"
SJ thinks for a moment. "No....brothers." He and Thailog embrace. Everyone enjoys the moment. The clones even manage to sing a little of "Joy to the World."
It's a good Christmas all around.
"Honey?" Anton says, holding his wife near him.
"Yes, dear?"
"Has Santa left the roof yet?"
"I don't think so, dear."
"Good. Release the Hounds!!!"
******END MINI RP*******
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY CHANUKKAH, JOYOUS KWANZA, MERRY RAMADAN, HAPPY OZZY & HARRIET, AND MERRY WINTER SOLSTICE EVERYBODY!!!!

It's been snowing all day and night here in Spokane, and the last minute shopping is done and all the presents (except for the ones from Santa <wink!>) are under the tree.
Critisism from the masses? So far, my track record for stories has been pretty good (ask Christine about that) and as far as this one is concerned, it should be a good one too. I had a great co-writer in Brian, and it should be one of the best eps so far (at least I think so! :) )
Anyway, we're having a light dinner here, and then I have to rise early to put the fixings for a New England Dinner in the oven (it's a real treat! Ask me about it later!).
Also, thanks to everyone for the well-wishes and the hugs and all . . . Merry Christmas, or whatever you believe in, and hope everyone has a great rest of the year.

***The winds rise, make a leaf tornado, when when disperses leaving Durid in it's wake***
ED: Because it didn't seem to really deal with the main plotlines at all. Just picked up a bunch of loose ends, and made a story about them. I serioulsy wonder if we are going to see "the big guy in a motored chair" again, except as a minor villin, like Fang and the guy who tried to kill Dracon in prison (I forgot his name).
Aris: So I have found out! Ah well, I am entitled to my opionin, no? And I wasn't really bashing the episode (I said that it made up for it by being a comedy and and tieing up some loose ends). Ah well, you can't please everyone :). And the guy in the chair as Thailog? *DoH* I didn't even think about that, it's been so long! What, two years?
Carolynn: OK OK! I seem to have actually offened alot of people with that commet. I was just giveing my honest oponion without reading anyone else's first! If it doesn't agree with others, well, that was the point of not reading them. I'm sorry! You mean that we will see more of the "Big guy in a motorized chair"? As for not likeing to laugh, I rated that show by how much I would go back and re-read it (I actually keep hardcopies of the TGS stories). And jokes are good, but how many times can you laugh at the same one? Oh boy, now I am rambling..... *sigh* As for writeing off someones work, don't take it so personally! And if want to do the same to mine, go ahead. You can't please everyone.
Philip: Because, if you are useing that tunnel to escape right from the castle, the castle it probably being taken over by hostiles, who would be notfied by the alarm as you go through the tunnel. As for having the alarm go off somewhere else, well on the below-castle levels, that would reveal the location of the tunnel as well. That's my belief anyway.
Wilik: Yes, the weather has been wierd. Here in Minnesota, we still had green grass half-way through December, and now suddenly it is under 10 degrees all the way to Texas! Alot of accidents there, they didn't have the art of road-way ice removel as well praticed. P.S. Thank you for not being offended!!!
Stephen: Ack, I dont know many people who need those skills, much less in Washington. Anyone else?
Sevarius Jr.: Huh? What was THAT about?
Argent: Heheh, the cable does carry Toon Disney, but for some reason Gargoyles is not on in my area. Talk about unlucky! Just wait a little while, I am sure that your cable will carry Toon soon. Weither they do before Gargoyles goes off it is the question.
Traveler: Heheh, you are lucky. I actually had 6 wisdom teeth to be pulled. Guess I had milk!
Learning Magic as a baby: Actually it isn't really that dangerous, after all the particpanits have a soul-transfer have to be willing for it to work. As for the Levitation, he could fall, or rescue himself from a fall. And transformation? People would think it kind-of wierd if Goliath came into the room and started gurgling, no?
Ironwolf: Welcome to the CR! Please check your sanity at the door with Vinnie.
Yooper: Glad to have another, straightjackets are stocked in the storeroom. Read the TGS season one yet?
Lawrence: Probably a green-colored guy with feathred wings. "The Martians are attacking!!!!"
Jonathan: GARGOYLES JUST A CARTOON!!!??!? He said that? Put that safe in a safe!
Hireing a non-Owen Baby sitter -
Fox: How long do you think this one will last?
Xanatos: $100 saying that she will last 3 hours, she is a former special op you know.
The babysitter slowly walks out of the nursery, slightly shakey, and trying to look in all directions at once.
Babysitter: I don't think I am capeable for this job sir. I think the toys are moving when I am not looking, and I swear that Alex was actually floating above the crib with a pair of wings and a small tail. I am now going to the psychartist, good day Mr. Xanatos.
She exits out the elevator.
Fox: 2 hours and 10min. Pay up!

Just checked. We're still up at 97%. YAY!!! *hands out firecrackers and rockets* Nobody kill anybody with these things, please. I dunno if the comment room's insured for stuff like this :)
Coyote< It's the perfect place to rant when you need to. Go right ahead. I'd be horrified if anybody damaged a Gargoyles-anything of mine (like when my mom taped over MIA, the Mirror, and all three Hunter's Moon eps that I had on one tape. The pain, the pain ...)
Dumlaox< Keep a positive outlook, Brian. Keep positive-thinking, you get positive-results :) Hmm, if that's true, then ... *crosses her fingers* I'm gonna get a Ferrari tomorrow, I'm gonna get a Ferrari tomorrow, I'm gonna get a Ferrari tomorrow ... (and a hunk with a cute rear, for extra measure :) ) Happy holidays, we await your return :)
Welcome, Yooper, Ironwolf, Silver Arrow! :) Merry christas, happpy (belated) Chanukka, or Kwanza, or whatever you celebrate, and happy partying for the new year :)
Lawrence< Goodness knows. But you can take a good guess. Una and Leo's children didn't have several different traits (like a unicorn with a lion's body or anything). I'm assuming genetic-wise, Griff and Brianna's children would either have animalistic traits or take after Brianna's clan, rather than give and take a few different looks (though it would be interesting to have a Caledonian-resembling gargoyle with its daddy's shnozz) :)
***CREATIVITY DEMON ALERT*****
Davy and Trump go one on one in the next MTV's Celebrity death match (meanwhile, Ivana and Owen duel it out in the aisle). Add Bill Gates to the fray, and you got one heckuva party!!
And I had another demon ... but I just lost it :( Will write more when I get it back ... oh, wait, there it is! No, wait, lost it again ... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Todd< That's frightening. I think we've all got our brains tuned to the same frequency...
But I got a good laugh out of Brooklyn's comment, all the same :)
Traveler< It seems you've got a great insanity streak there. I like you already! :)
Deuce, Argent< If I had the stuff Alex has, I'd be in heaven. Think of it; every day would be a snowday. No school!!! Who's to argue? :) Though I imagine getting a baby-sitter for whenever Owen wouldn't be around would be hell (not that I can exactly see Owen in swimming trunks fanning himself on a beach in the Bahamas ...).
<<RANDOM THOUGHT #2> So far, I seem to be the only one who didn't enjoy
the recent unseasonably (more like unreasonably) weird weather. Where I
live, it's supposed to be COLD in winter. Plus, I've read too many
stories where weird weather is a sign of Armageddon or caused by some
outside force (often bent on world domination.) >>
"What are we doing tonight?"
"Same thing we do everynight, Pinky."
"What?"
"Forget it."
Big candy cane to whoever gets what animated show this quote's from (I cracked up laughing when I heard it" :) )
*before leaving, gives Coyote a huge candy cane to say "Feel better, and I really, really am sorry about hurting your feelings before" And merry christmas :)* Happy New Year!! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE OR WHATEVER YOU CELEBRATE! (Except to AOL, who killed my browser AGAIN last night... How many times are they gonna do this to me?)
TIMEDANCER COUNTDOWN- ONLY 13 OR 14 MORE DAYS UNTIL SEASON TWO BEGINS!!!!! YESSS!!!
Coyote- Tough about the decal, and remember, this place is made for ranting when you need it.
Yooper- I'll spare you the tape recording since you've already been lurking a few months...
Silver Arrow- Posts like your kinda crack me me up. Here, I've been doing the Timdedancer countdown for over a month, and people STILL have to ask... Check earlier in my post for the answer to your question.
Wilek- Nice offer, but no scanners, and my stories aren't edited yet. We're working on getting a page done, with luck, by the end of January.
Ravyn- Cheer up. Here, I'll also give you a hug. **hug**
SJ- Funny RP bit...
Heather- I think she meant it when she said she wants a picture of us people. Considering I all ready told her I was taking care of it... So any artists out there with scanners, I suppose, uh... Do a picture of us... With no clue what we look like whatso-ever...
USA vote- I voted, and got a Forbidden message. Whats that mean?
Hmm, creativity demon completley unrelated to the holidays...
Godzilla follows Brooklyn home one day. The others rapidly develop a kinship with the big lizard, but Fox puts her foot down, declaring there isn't any room for a pet in the castle... (Or go back to season two, and imagine Elisa putting her foot down about there being no room in the clocktower...)
Just saw Prince of Egypt... Good animation, good story, good music. Disney may have some competition... For my fuller thoughts on this, check the other CR later...
**Robby leaves, calling out the names of all nine reindeer. "You know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen. Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph the red nosed reindeer..."** HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!

Kathy: Well you’ve scared me! ;)
DumlaoX: They were o.0 I’m surprised people thought that. Undoing that would be like bringing back the Magus. It would ruin the impact and the solemnity of the piece. Still, if it gives you a kick out of being criticised, I’ll keep that one to myself from now on ;)

Sorry for the double-post, but I am now feeling better after getting that rant out of my system. I think I'll reply to everything else.
Lawrence: Well, there's already a bit of a sample for that kind of union ... if you think about it, Brooklyn and Sata are of two drastically different body styles (not to mention faces), and their kids (as far as we've seen in the pics done of Graeme and Ariana) came out as pretty much a combination. Perhaps we'll wind up seeing their kids having feathered bodies with no beaks, or beaked faces with humanoid bodies, or some combination ...
Genetics is so much fun. (Don't you agree, SJ?)
kathy: Just plain scary.
Wilek: Thanks for the comment about the car ... poor Lex is going to be peeled off in a couple days, I think. The new one may get made as soon as Saturday, and this time he's going on the *inside* of the window.
Jaden, Ravyn: *L* I already managed to think of that one (having Ravyn's name from her WCC e-mails), but I'm glad Ravyn brought it up first.
DumlaoX: You're right ... that is kind of twisted. Have a nice trip!
Cyrway: You should be getting the item today, if I'm not mistaken (and the USPS actually does its job right).
Ravyn again: Yep, depressing for sure. This year more than in past years ... and things happening around here are probably not going to help you get out of your funk anytime soon (as you have noted in the other CR). Oh well ... here's hoping we both bounce back in the new year. **hug**
Okay, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get online tonight ... so I'll leave it here.

**WARNING!! INCREDIBLY PISSED-OFF RANT APPROACHING!!**
SJ: Yes, unfortunately I have seen that ad. Don't get me started ... uh oh, too late.
The recent trend of Madison Avenue to glamorize the abuse and dehumanization of marching bands is personally appalling to me. It started with the NFL Blitz ad which featued Kordell Stewart picking off band members with footballs. It moved on to this ultimate ignominy ... the Outpost.com ad featuring a marching band being attacked by a pack of ravenous wolves.
We're people too, y'know! We bleed, we die, just like everybody else who doesn't play in a marching band!! And the last thing we need is this kind of crap being shown all over the airwaves and passed off as COMEDY!!
I guarantee you, I now plan on never buying any computer equipment from Outpost.com. If they think that this bando's going to sit idly by while they insult my peers, attacking them in this commercial as they have, they've got another thing comin'!
But sadly, I am but a nobody, sitting before my console in the middle of nowhere on this pointless rant. It may be funny to you, but how would YOU like to be the one who has to put up with the typical abuse a bando has to put up with ... long hours of practice, memorization of music, physical training to learn the steps, only to wind up knocked around by football players, get undercut in your budget and ignored at halftime while all the fat SLOBS in the stands go to get another beer. I personally have had ENOUGH of the lack of respect marching bands now have ... we don't even show up during college football games unless it's a bowl game, and then the best football teams seem to have the crappiest bands, giving everyone even *more* of an excuse to diss us.
**heavy breathing**
Thank you. The RANT is ended.
**END INCREDIBLY PISSED-OFF RANT.**
And to keep this kind of on-topic ... yes I put my vote in this morning.

**WARNING: MINI-RP, TOTALLY SEPARATE FROM THE MAIN RP***
This is a story I like to call:
CHRISTMAS WITH THE SEVARIUS FAMILY
or
HOW THE MODERN DAY MAD SCIENTIST FAMILY SPENDS THE HOLIDAYS
Sevarius Jr. is busy wrapping presents on the floor of the family living room. A roaring fire is nearby, and the tree, a beautiful 7-footer, is decorated brightly. Gifts abound underneath it. Everything appears wonderful and happy!
"Let's see, let me check my list.....Okay, some new video games for Lex.....a side of beef for Broadway....a new hydrant for Bronx.....Hi-definition tv for Hudson....lingerie for Angela-Whoops, how'd that get in there? Well, it looks like I got all my shopping done! Time to kick back and enjoy the holidays!"
Mrs. Sevarius (who miraculously looks just like Pamela Anderson-Lee; ah, the wonders of genetics!) walks into the room. "Finish up, hon, I baked some cookies for you."
"Thanks, mom."
Dr. Sevarius also enters the living room. "Junior, help me clean up the house. We're expecting guests you know."
"Guests? What guests?"
***PAUSE MINI-RP****
Wacky Weather: Tell me about it. Up until yesterday, things were okay here in the nation's capital. Then, Bam! Ice storm. Mother Nature's veeeeery angry.
Ravyn: I'm sorry things didn't go so well on your vacation. I know something that can cheer you up though. Group hug!!!!***Everyone in the CR rushes Ravyn and nearly squeezes her to death**** There, hope that made things better :0)
Gargoyle poll: Yeah, we're #1!!! World domination, baby!
Coyote: Saw a commercial yesterday I think you might like. It's for Outpost.com. They had a marching band performing in a sports stadium, then sicked wild dogs on them.
***RESUME RP***
"Who's coming, dad?"
"I invited your brother Thailog."
"Wha----he's NOT my brother. And is that such a good idea? He's tried to kill us every time he's seen us."
"Nonsense, he's family, and he's coming for Christmas!"
"Okay, but he's not sharing my room again. Last time he tried to choke me in my sleep!"

Ladies and Gentlemen and all those that fit in the 'other' category :P
For the final week of 1998, the comment room will be cleared by Patrick Toman. He will also be responsible for posting the new Gargoyles/Pendragon episode for the week. Now, If I could remember the title...
BTW, about the new ep, if you couldn't already tell, Stephen R. Sobotka, Jr. and myself were the writers. Now, I dunno how Stephen feels about this, but as for me, spare no mercy in critique. Lemme explain.
The last story I really had a big hand in writing was "From The Heart" From the meeting with the Brother in France till the end, that was my writing. The comments for that ep went from mediocre to a comment like "you can't make them die. go back and make the gargs live again." In short, almost scathing.
Which was strangely cool.
So, for me, I need honest opinions for this new ep. After all, I have another one written with Stephen later in the season. Gotta know how bad that turns out :P
Till next time...

Well, I'm back in good ol' Georgia. the weather's on crack and it's just plain gross with all the rain, but I'm home (and slowly going crazy and about to commit homicide against my big brother wanting me as we speak to hold a phone book so he can punch it. Don't ask.). I managed to miss the plane coming home (hold your applause) but eventually reached the land of "Computer? What's that?" So this is going to be one of my *few* and far between posts while I'm home.
Thesis: I did finish the %^@()*#@@&* thesis. An hour after it was due, but I finished it. And done is good. Very good.
Aris:<g> Feel free to compare that long post I had from last week to what comes out. One of the screaming-fit-retaliation stories (the final one, actually--"Never is a Promise"), should be done by the end of winter break. Truly amazing what knock-down, drag-out screaming fights can do to get creative juices flowing.

JEB: Ditto, and I'll e-mail Ryan and ask. but I haven't heard from him since this summer, so...

Actually, she didn't completely wreck it ... but she did manage to amputate Lex's right arm. At any rate, the damage is severe enough that I'll have to have a new one cut ... but this time, I might change the design a little. Ohhh, man, there's another $38 pumped into that little car!
But I digress ... and you don't want me doing that very often.
ED: Liked the list ... especially your two Monty Python selections (Tim the enchanter, the Unseelie destroyed by a man-eating rabbit)!
Mandi: I sent you an equally-as-long reply to the long rambling e-mail you sent me that rambles almost as much. And you're probably going to get sick of hearing me say this, but thank you for allowing me to drop this load on your ample shoulders. :)
New folks: Howdy.
Selanit: Castle Wyvern + gingerbread transformation = another 60 pounds around the middle, hypertension and eventually a diabetic coma. I would pass on it, thanks.
Robby: I see you saw fit to use the line I fed ya. ;)
Cyrway: You should be receiving it tomorrow or so (I sent it Priority mail rather than express ... I know, I'm a cheapskate). Don't be too frightened, let's just say it will show you why I prefer coloring art on the computer, when I can.
Robby again: I also received an e-mail from Demona ... problem is, I don't know if it's me or what, but I can't make heads nor tails of it. I'll forward it to you, maybe you can help me.
Would she be interested in some HTML tech help? I'd be more than happy to set her up.
Okay, I'm out ... mutter grumble thirty-eight dollars ...

Todd> You have said this creativity demon before. I do remember it, though I'm not certain in which comment room you did.
Argent> Why is alien technology always superior? Simple. Because if aliens managed to get to Earth they'd definitely have technology superior to our own.
Review> Here's my (somewhat long) review for Double Take. Sorry, but it's somewhat harsh. My Lady Fair will have to wait a bit longer.
**** REVIEW FOR "Double Take" ****
In a nutshell: Decent as separate pieces, but taken as a whole very disjointed and somewhat confusing (and not in the good sense).
First of all: Robyn aka Heather?!? Robby and Heather?!? LOL! And btw, congratulations, you two. Is this the first time the happenings in the comment room influence the ones of TGS? When was the story written?
I'm sorry but I have a lot of criticisms against this episode.
The first and greatest criticism concerns its structure. The various plots (Jackal and Hyena, Thailog plots, Demona & Robyn, even Graeme and Ariana) are not linked together at all. There's neither a common cause for all them, all based on the very weak foundations of complete coincidence (though perhaps this is acceptable in a comedy), nor is there a common theme. And for each plot there's a different resolution, once again unconnected from each other. This makes it seem a very weak story.
My second criticism concerns its role in the TGS universe. With the exception of the Thailog plot, the two other plots seem to be regressing the character arcs. For example Robyn was freed in a previous episode, for no purpose other than be recaptured here, and now she's in the same place as before. Why bother freeing her at all?
Or Jackal and Hyena. I remember a completely insane Hyena screeching 'killkillkillkillkillkill'. What happened to that gal? Here she seemed to have the same attitude as in 'Broadway goes to Hollywood' or something... Not fitting with the one who had once tragically understood that she would be losing the last part of her humanity. Sorry but I am convinced that the use of Hyena was inappropriate here, that she should never be used in a comedy, unless it's a grim black humour situation... And is *this* the power of the Ultra-pack? Losing a child from two complete incompetents?
The incompetents... <Sigh> It seems that other than Madoc every other criminal uses complete idiots to do their bidding. I've seen it with the Illuminati, I see it again here, and I don't like it in either place. Thailog managed to turn himself from experiment to multi-millionaire in less than a day, using *only his wits*. He's more capable than this and I sure hope that when his people return with news of their failure, that he tears out their throats, and hire some better goons. (General warning to all writers: To have someone *fail* completely is not a good way to make him ominous)
The Graeme-Ariana humour was annoying and intrusive not only for Brooklyn and Sata but for me as well.
Finally the Robyn-Demona story. That's a part I'm later going to praise but first here's the criticism, a part that made Puck completely unsympathetic in this story (and frankly this is the reason that made me dislike the story, not any of the stuff above):
Robyn's passing by, ignorant and innocent of what's happening, when a random child falls from the sky (in reality Puck chooses her for his fun). Unlike what most of us (yeah I don't have so much faith in humanity) would do, she immediately does her utmost to protect the strange child, which includes fighting and escaping (without any armor or weapon) two cyborgs that could quite possibly be the most dangerous and deadly creatures of New York. It also involves being lured to Demona's stronghold, and then having to suppress every single bit of her desire to avenge her father's murderer.
And she succeeds admirably, all to protect Alex (which in reality wasn't even Alex, only Puck's joke).
She deserved a medal, or whatever magical gift Puck could give her.
She got chains. And locks. And a straitjacket.
"For her own protection"? I don't buy it. It was cruel and anyway it's Puck who put her in the situation, and it was Puck's obligation to take her out of it, and I don't believe that he's not imaginative enough to think of a way. Not since Spike's hypocritical Goliath (you know in which story) have I seen such an annoying (to me) mischaracterisation. (oops, I've now insulted one more writer besides attacking an episode everybody else seems to have loved... I don't think I'll be leaving this room alive...) I think that Puck may be somewhat insensitive towards strangers (how he treated Goliath in Future Tense) but since Puck didn't need anything here, I don't see him doing the stuff he did against Robyn.
Some more nitpicks: Was this *really* safe for Alexander? Would Alex-as-Owen have remained silent for so long? The way the switch took place seemed to contradict what was previously done: namely that the fey vanishes and enters the body of another. And, god, I do believe Puck has a better sense of humour than the "Hello, nurse" kind.
Now, some of the things I liked:
I liked the Jackal fridge scene. I was wondering if he would pull out a nuke next.
"We're not laughing. We're just stalling." LOL! GREAT line!
ALL the great Robyn characterisation (which almost made up for the bad Puck one). I liked it very much. Robyn acted with the cool unemotional way she showed in Hunter's moon, but as in Hunter's moon she had both care and hatred burning underneath. This characterisation didn't really add anything we didn't already know but I think it was very accurate, and made me want to see more of Robyn (and regret we didn't get to see Bad Guys).
And ofcourse the reappearance of Thailog. But PLEASE if you have him be ineffectual, the Saga will turn out to be nothing more than "Madoc vs Gargoyles & Arthur. Thailog and Illuminati are comic relief". I don't want to see Thailog as comic relief. And I don't want to see him ineffectual. In the series he was a GREAT villain. Where his confinement to a wheelchair is concerned I'm ambivalent. Perhaps burnt wings (as Batya Levin had him have) would have sufficed. Anyway we'll see: It could be good or it could be bad.
Final thought: This story left me unsatisfied, two of the plots (Pack, Thailog) lacking any kind of emotional connection, and the other one with a bad resolution. Comedies are far harder to pull off than other stories, and I think this is an excellent example of a failed comedy.
**** END REVIEW FOR 'Double Take' ****

Many quick replies, and a not-so-quick one:
TRAVELER re: XANATOS $$$> I'd put my bets on "trillionaire".
ROBBY> Billion? Incomprehensible? Check my note to Wilek.
ED> ROTFLMAO and getting in trouble for it....
IRONWORF> Um... duck!
WILEK> I found another decent "numbered" Trek novel for ya: Voyager #15, "Echoes". The basic plotline is that a planet sets up a worldwide transporter that goes awry and messes with parallel universes, leading to at least 2,544 separate universes, and at least half that many Voyagers. In one universe (either "our" universe, or #2410 - can't remember), there is no planet where it should be... just a very large sphere of floating humanoid bodies. Over 300 billion people, dead in the vacuum of space. Scared the hell out of me. Look it up; I bet you'll like it.

**Robby comes in actually laughing and smiling, quite a bit more like his usual self than he was a few hours ago. "Heather's back, she never left... I was miserable for nothing... Yadee yah..." And he's doing a happy dance... Badly.**
ED- Funny stuff! Cracked me out of the dismal mood I'd been in since Heather "left"! That is perhaps one of the best top 10.. Er, top 20 lists I've seen! Very good stuff! " As cunning as a fox that¹s just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University..." Hah!
SJ- Demona May's website is one in progress. There is no addy yet because well... There isn't one. With any luck, it'll be up and running around late January, with all 18+ of my gargs fanfics archived on it... Along with a TON of garg. artwork. On the other hand, she doesn't know diddly about putting together a web page, and doesn't possess her own computer yet, so it may take considerably longer...
Haven't started your X-Mas shopping yet? Hope you don't have too many people to shop for then... Finished mine 2 weeks ago...

Traveller: Well… if you’re a billionaire, you must also be a millionaire as you own more than a million pounds. Dodgy excuse, I’ll grant you. :) Without having a quote from Ask Greg or the original series to back me up, I’d bet on billionaire, too.
Todd: (Creativity Demon repost) Well I’m not sure that Owen or David would be at all impressed if Broadway started munching on the furniture/wall, and certainly Hudson and Goliath wouldn’t be if he decided to help himself to a nice chunk of the castle. Nor would Angela for that matter.
(Puck’s ethics) Give the Puck a bit of credit. He’s a trickster, sure, but I think he’d show Alex how to use his powers properly. Apart from anything else, part of Owen’s role is as guardian so if Alex is neglectful of his powers, then he could be a danger to himself and others, and Puck wouldn’t be doing his job.
***SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT TGS. MAY CONTAIN RANDOM SPOILERS***
So far, this season has been pretty impressive. We’ve had stories showing us lovely glimpses of Owen, Fox, Griff, Umbriel, Madoc, Micheal, Robyn, Demona and many more. But I still think there’s something missing, and that’s Goliath. Sure, Goliath pops up every once in a while. He had a fair role in THE SCOTTISH PLAY by TGS standards, though in comparison with original Gargoyles, it was more akin to his supporting role to the Dingo in WALKABOUT. As far as I can think, the last episode that really picked up Goliath and looked inside him was PAST PERFECT. All the others have either been Rising-driven, or focussed on a great a spread of secondary characters.
I can’t say I’m much of a Goliath fan. With the sensational exception of his HUNTER’S MOON appearance, I think that Demona, Brooklyn, Lexington, Xanatos and Castaway are far more interesting characters. But without him I think that the episodes have a tendency towards being weaker, and with less focus. Many of the Gargoyles episodes don’t even feature the clan until the end, or in odd moments. 3 months into the season we still haven’t really seen anything that examines Goliath, Broadway, Brooklyn, Sata, Arianna, Elisa, Matt or Arthur. We’ve seen Demona plenty and I think that the staff is showing a lot of skill in the way that they are gradually showing how she changes. That said, there’s a dubious amount on Lexington, as since he featured in THE RISING his name has been almost interchangeable with most of the rest of the clan.
Although we have got some nice scenes with characters, very few seem to take the characters around in a full arc. To use a recent example, DOUBLE TAKE showed Jackal and Hyena, looked a bit at their bitterness. But they sort of faded out after a while and nothing more was heard. We saw Robyn’s thoughts and a little of how she thinks, but again, we didn’t see the development complete through an episode. THE SCOTTISH PLAY did, and it did with enthusiasm and flow. OFFERS and MY LADY FAIR did as well, although again it was still divided between several characters; the former episode especially got away with it because the plots were cleverly intertwined and reliant on the others for their sheer power.
I know the staff has got tonnes of cunning plans for new plots, and because I know that you’re a skilled and insightful bunch, I have little doubt that you have stuff for all those characters up your sleeve. But although I still like the larger scale of this season, I wonder if you’re neglecting the most important of the characters in the Gargoyles universe.
One thing that I am relieved to see is that the initial Rising euphoria has died down, and we’re finally looking at stories with the Rising as a background, not through Rising-tinted specs.
***END COMMENTS***
And after all that, it’s time for a lovely bit of blind enthusiasm! Here are the top 20 episodes or scenes that we shall never see unless the entire TGS staff goes complete barking mad.
20. Madoc and Oberon gather their children together on Avalon and have a nice tea party.
19. Jackal and Hyena set up a nursery and invite Alex.
18. Oberon and Madoc decide to fight in Japan. Vinnie is walking by and one of them grabs Mr. Carter and fires it at the other.
17. Asrail decides that she wants to become a politician instead of an inventor.
16. Coldstone auditions for the part of Frankenstein’s monster in a new movie, while Xanatos and Sevarius end up in hot competition for the part of Frankenstein.
15. Thailog barges into one episode saying, “sorry I’m late guys, I got held up by the traffic.”
14. Madoc calls off the Rising between 8 and 9 on a Saturday, because he’s watching Casualty.
13. Demona and Macbeth attend a New Year party, and get completely drunk. The following morning they blame each other for getting themselves into the worse state, as their pain doubles up.
12. Madoc and his motley crew take a day off at Whitbury Newtown leisure centre, and finding Brittas’ insane, well-meaning antics almost as dangerous as the Rising for the world.
11. Emrys writes a long and extremely detailed account of Arthurian England for a project. The school calls in Arthur because they think that many of the facts are wrong and probably made up. Needless to say, Arthur supports his tutor, leaving some very perplexed (and indignant) schoolmasters.
10. Brooklyn, Loki and Griff decide to play a scene from Hamlet in the middle of Castle Wyvern.
9. Brooklyn appears in Arthurian England, and is asked to answer questions from the mysterious gatekeeper known as Tim!
8. Arthur helps out Emrys on his school project on swallows.
7. Emrys is asked onto a game show and is quizzed on Arthurian facts. He soon ends up correcting the presenter.
6. Maeve turns to Madoc and says, “Sir… I have a cunning plan!”
5. Vogel decides to get a new ‘cooler’ look, and Owen follows suit, until the two are in hot competition, coming into work in all sorts of outlandish things, and with daft sayings.
4. Madoc turns back to Maeve and asks, “As cunning as a fox that’s just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?”
3. Goliath gets jealous of Lex, and so has the clan all get cybernetic implants, after which they become super idol heroes, and star in a TV show named ‘Cyber Gargoyle Warriors’.
2. In casting for ‘Cyber Gargoyle Warriors’ the creators are looking for someone to play the evil super-villain. Brendan nominates Margot.
1. In battle, the Unseelie army are destroyed by an all-powerful… rabbit.
Hmm. That’s enough for now, I think. Goodness, this has to be the most I’ve posted in this room since it first went up!

*WARNING! "DOUBLE TAKE" SPOILERS AHEAD! *
One odd little comment: when reading "Double Take" myself, I was surprised by the bit about Puck threatening to turn Demona into a French poodle, because I've had a similar creativity demon myself. In it, after Demona was turned into a dog, Brooklyn commented, "Hey! Now she really is a b-", and promptly got into a lot of trouble both with Angela (who doesn't like him talking about her mother in that way), and Sata (who doesn't want him using words like that in front of the twins). Admittedly, I don't think that post-TD Brooklyn would *really* say something like that about Demona, not after "Requiem". I've never told anybody about this creativity demon before, so I'd say that we're dealing with Collective Gargoyle Sub-Conscious again.
*END OF SPOILERS*
I don't think that Puck had that much choice with the soul transference lessons; it was the only way possible to sort out the ColdTrio mess, after all.

Extracting him from office should have been done WAYYYY back when he was slaughtering those Kurdish Refugees and Rebels. It was *PROVEN* he was using Anthrax and Nerve gas on them. Clinton should have exploited this fact with the American public and NATO. Any country that would have dissagred would have looked like they were supporting Saddam. (Yes I'm talking to you France!) Deuce> <<A kid who could, in theory, push most of New York into the Atlantic>> LOL! I love the way you phrased that. $<<Out an airlock? Boring...>> It *is*, come to think of it...$
Wyvern as a large dessert> It would fall apart under its own weight (gingerbread isn't as sturdy as all that), the bits would fall of the castle and crash into a zillion pieces, kill everyone below, and cause the FBI to send in Mulder and Scully, not to mention making a really big mess on the street. Let's hope the clan is on patrol at the time.
Weird weather> Mine is becoming slightly less weird; they're predicting snow tomorrow. FINALLY!
Qulix Addams> Welcome! I hope you left your sanity at home, because we eat sanity for breakfast here! :D
CrzyDemona> Welcome back; we haven't seen you here in quite a while! <<I think we blew [Vendetta] outta the water!!>> That's an understatement.
Aris> <<WE ARE NOT SILLY>> Speak for yourself. :P
**RESUME MINI-RP. APOLOGIES; THIS ONE'S KIND OF LONG.**
[Wilek: "Must be off; I have an appointment." Wilek manipulates the cube and a portal opens. He steps through the portal...and into the labyrinth of the Cenobites. Guess who's waiting for him. Pinhead: "Are you the mortal I am to meet?" Wilek: "Yup. I want you to examine these disks with your spirit sense." He gives Pinhead the suitcase. "Find out who made them and...*convince* him or her not to bug people with them anymore." P: "Of course." Pinhead opens the case and looks at the disks. P: "Yes...I can now sense my prey. We'll tear his soul apart..." W: "Go get 'im Zippy." P: "If you ever call me that again, I will conveniently forget our deal and do to you what I did to Geoffery Fieger." Wilek: "<eep> Sorry." Wilek and Pinhead step back through the portal. Pinhead teleports off to find the individual responsible for distributing the AOL disks, and Wilek glides back home.]

<<I've read too many stories where weird weather is a sign of Armageddon or caused by some outside force (often bent on world domination.)>>
You've heard of that too!!!!??!!??! I have a theory on this, but then I have a theory on almost everything, but to sum it up..., maybe it's both! Wouldn't that be cool! We'll all die sick (because of the strange weather- I'm sick because of it). Hehehehhee Seriously the weather has been getting on my nerves, yesterday it was about sixty, close to seventy (somewhere in there), today it was forty something.

I came THIS close to doing another blow up AOL rant... But since I signed on without a hitch at all this time around, and I'm talking to my lady love at the moment, I've cooled down. But since Heather is leaving tommarrow, I'm going to be a little easier to set off than usual... That's a warning AOL...
Coolness points to whoever identifies this quote first...
"JavajavajavajavajavajavajavajavajavajavaJAVA!!!"
Argent- Well, they've only told me when Timedancer starts again, and I've been keeping track of that. Dark Ages is another matter, and they've said... Well... Next September. Sorry. But the normal stories are going to go until Independance Day, and Time Dancer after that! So, the wait shouldn't be as bad as it sounds.
Broadway and a gingerbread castle... All I have to say is... So much for their ancestral home, I'm going to miss castle Wyvern.
Is there just less to talk about with so many people gone, or am I just being distracted by other things? (Like say... Heather?)

Sorry for the double post, I didn't see something before.
Castle Wyvvern as a Hansel und Gretel style confection>
I imagine that Broadway would react by falling through the floor, gingerbread not being meant to hold the weight of a full-grown gargoyle. Especially one his girth. DOUBLY so if it gets transformed during the day. <G>

Reading the CR before the story> Well, you all have good reasons. And, as I said before, I will honor the convention.
Question: I have a fanfic I've written for the Party on Avalon. I'd like to submit it to AvMists, but before I do, I need a couple of people to critique it. I'd ask my family and friends to do this, but most of them have no clue about Gargoyles and would be thoroughly confused. Please help! The first two people to email me get to proofread it. Everybody else has to wait till it comes out, *assuming* the folks at AvMists like it enough to put it up. If they don't, well, I put it up on my own web site. <G>
Thanks!

ARGENT - Maybe it is rather early to teach Alex magic, but given the fact that it's what keeps Oberon and Titania from hauling him off to Avalon, I doubt that the Xanatoses and Owen/Puck have any real alternatives.
Of course, a lot depends upon the tutor. As Nicodemus pointed out once, Blaise (Merlin's tutor) was careful to teach Merlin a strong sense of morality and ethics alongside magic, so that he would use his halfling gifts responsibly. Puck, on the other hand - well, I doubt that Puck would object if Alex went around zapping donkey heads onto the trio a la Nick Bottom. (The trio almost certainly would object, though).
This reminds me of the creativity demon I once had where somebody made the mistake of reading Alex "Hansel and Gretel" for a bedtime story, Alex gets intrigued by the witch's gingerbread house, and the next thing you know - poof! - Castle Wyvern is transformed into a castle made of gingerbread, chocolate, gumdrops, etc. (And we can only wonder how Broadway would respond).

ARGENT> Hehehe.... I agree with your point about teaching Alex magic. A kid who could, in theory, push most of New York into the Atlantic if he gets a little pissed is any babysitter's nightmare (and I thought kids with rocks were bad). And weather? Man oh man, it's hasn't been warmer than -15 (Celsius) in weeks. I would be grateful for a little warmth.

(Argent comes in, muttering something unintelligible about the morons at the cable company who decided not to carry the Toon Disney Channel.)
For those of you who get Toon Disney, I hope you know how lucky you are!
(Sorry, I've been carrying that gripe around since September.)
Whoever's planning to wipe AOL off the map > I don't suppose you could make a quick stop at the TCI cable company, could you?
***SPOILER ALERT!!!!***
After all the serious stuff that's been going on lately in TGS, it's nice to take a break. I liked it when Brooklyn used the old cliche of threatening to put his kids up for adoption. Kudos to the authors!
***RETURN TO YOUR READING, CITIZENS***
On second thought...
***WATCH OUT!!! RANDOM THOUGHTS AHEAD!!!***
RANDOM THOUGHT#1> I know it's too late now, but I don't think it was a very good idea to teach Alex magic so soon. Head for cover when that kid hits the Terrible Twos! (And you thought El Nino was bad...)
RANDOM THOUGHT #2> So far, I seem to be the only one who didn't enjoy the recent unseasonably (more like unreasonably) weird weather. Where I live, it's supposed to be COLD in winter. Plus, I've read too many stories where weird weather is a sign of Armageddon or caused by some outside force (often bent on world domination.)
***END OF RANDOM THOUGHTS***
Shoot, I finally get some free time and now I'm being told to get off-line!
ONE MORE DAY TILL CHRISTMAS BREAK!
(Starts humming. Scoops up remains of alarm clock on the way out.)
Later!
(P.S.- When do the new Dark Ages episodes come out?)

QULIX - Actually, Morgana is the only one of Igraine's daughters who ever really learned magic; I don't think that her other two sisters, Morgause and Elaine, ever made use of their fay heritage. Although Morgause's oldest son Gawain did have certain odd quirks that could have been due to his being a "quarterling".

** Deuce runs in, wearing a large t-shirt and baggy plaid pants. ** Grr... housecleaning. I hate it.
SELANIT> Spoons, eh? On my spring band trip, a guy stole over $80 worth of decorative spoons. Don't ask why. And I too wonder why people go to the CR before reading the new ep.
WILEK> $ Out an airlock? Boring.... $
DUMLAOX> Try to get someone else to post in your absence (if you can bear not being the first person to post every week). Otherwise, I suppose we could live with a non-Monday episode. (I also like the idea of posting it Friday, and then the URL Monday).
THE "STAR" SYSTEM> I don't like it either. Too easy to seriously damage someone's self-worth by just rating it low. Either that, or be only able to access the rating through the AuthAdmin page.

Stephen: *frowns* Why, TGS crew, oh why, do you torment us so?
(reads Carolynn’s post) Patrick: Well, hooray for you! And while I’m at it, hooray to everyone else who worked on “DOUBLE TAKE”. For that matter, hooray for everyone who works for TGS! In fact, hooray for everyone! Oh, apart from those with a lust for tormenting their audiences (you know who you are! ;))
DumlaoX: Well, this is what I’d do. See if you can get someone else to put it up for you, in the staff. Failing that, put it up on Friday but ask someone to post the URL on the Monday (nobody is going to guess it since nobody knows the title). And then when you get back you can link it via the normal site. Of course, if you decide to postpone it a week, then the TGS staff can take a well deserved break for a while (or be under less stress for future stuff), so that could be a great option from the point of view of you guys! ;)
***SPOILER INCLUDING COMMENTS***
Aris: The guy in the wheelchair being Thailog? That’s a fascinating idea. Explains his size, but I’m not sure I’d like it if he were disabled or something.
Durid: “It was obbioulsy a 'filler'” –I find it hard to believe you can say that when this picked up so many loose ends! Robyn was reintroduced, Jackal and Hyena were back, we saw an enrichment of Owen’s “The Gathering” restrictions, and we see the hateful side of Demona once more. And you’ve said yourself that it asks tonnes of questions, so how can it be a filler?
***END OF SUCH COMMENTS***
Mandi: Additionally, Merlin was meant to be a champion against Oberon so seeing him has a special and bitter irony for him.
Actually, although it rather cruel, and nothing against those absent, but I prefer the smaller CR attendance. Makes it far easier for me to keep up, and the confusing RP bits have dried up. Of course I have much more time now, so even at this size I’d normally miss most of the stuff… *shrugs*

Lunch break, more rambling since the room's so quiet.
Qulix> I get the impression that Oberon and company weren't too thrilled with the prospect of having Arthur in the Hollow Hill, so I don't think they'd be keen on "inviting" him to Avalon, considering that (from Oberon's biased viewpoint) it was Madoc's halfling son who brought him there in the first place. Besides, knowing that Madoc and Maeve are out and about, Oberon's not so focused on the Gathering anymore, since he's apparently letting Titania send out some of the Children (in "A Call To Arms").
And that's all...

I laugh at the fact that not even Oberon and the weird sisters relieze that if Egraine is Arthur's mother, then he is a halfling just like Morgana and his other two half-sisters that become sorcerers

Okay. I'm awake, I'm semi-sane, and the Help Desk folks still haven't showed, so I'm still unable to get anything done work-related. (Not that I'm complaining.)
Wilek> Oh, no, you're right! I guess sitting in front of a computer for eight hours really does cause brain-frying. I can't believe I didn't pick up on that!
Coyote> No, you don't. You have every reason to grieve, while I'm having a relatively uneventful holiday. Check your e-mail for further rambling which the entire CR doesn't need to hear.
Argent> Oh. Again, welcome! :)
