Business Question: For you photo-types out there, what do you usually charge for photo restoration, and how do you come up with a good fee to charge?

Longer post later.

Ran across something disturbing the other day ... they show Ronald McDonald cartoon videos at the fast-food joint of the same name, and if there's anything more sickening than hearing Owen's voice coming out of Ronald's _dog_, I don't wanna know what it is! But on the plus side, it kills the appetite ...

I'm afraid that the disney execs are still performing their own colonoscopies (in other words, their heads are still FULLY lodged up their @sses)they are turning that infernal *ug* 1 saturday moring into a weekday lineup, including the unspeakable harbinger of the current Cr@ppy state of american animation today(save for certain shows and most anime) as well as that godawful show abcess...er recess
and now, a scene from a crossover we'd all like to see

Demona: DIE PITIFUL DISNEY PROGRAMMING EXECS!!!!!
Speaking of Anime, there's one out called Aika:naked mission, it's full of gratuituous nudity/panty shots, sick humor and other fun stuff, but the kicker is that the main villains look like some kind of twisted adult-oriented version of Team Rocket (the Jesse & James not Butch and Cassidy) thankfully, they are sans Meowth
speaking of which, I Saw the first Ghostbusters movie the other night and so help me, Zuul and Gozer sounded just like Frieza (the american version)

**enters the room, switching out the candles. Sits down roughly in the lawn chair.**

Ughh ... bad day at work today, I *hate* working holiday weekends!!

Cherry Blossom: Close, but no cigar, sadly. The poster to the room you're thinking of is Ryvnn IcKevern, not (Lady) Ravyn Maza. And I checked it out to see if she was Ravyn using a pseudonym of her pseudonym, but it wasn't her ...
1) Ryvnn's RP style is much different from Ravyn's
2) Her Angelfire page lists Wyoming as her RL home state (Ravyn is in Arizona)
3) Ryvnn is a polar-opposite RP character to Ravyn's.
Thanks for the help, but unfortunately we're barking up the wrong tree. (I'll contact ye privately about who I'm talking about)

Robby: Slayers NEXT tends to follow Rule #31, especially near the end of the third tape (I happened to notice Lina's hair color changing, despite lighting changes, from red to green.).

Wilek: **rolls eyes at ReBoot comment** Oyy ... those jerks. No wonder why that tombstone Frisket pops out of in "Mend and Defend" reads "Here Lies the Mainframe Joint Alliance: An Unholy Union." :)

Night Walker: I don't think you missed it yet, it wouldn't be on until 8:30.
And now that I think of it, Bjork seems to do a lot for soundtracks, in my experience ... my personal favorite of her works is "Army of Me" from the "Tank Girl" soundtrack.

Fire Storm: The better stuff is on the WB (20 around us) on Saturday mornings, when they show Batman Beyond and Men in Black. Wish they had a decent action 'toon debuting again this year, like they did with BB last year and MIB the year before. (Of course, those two *were* at the expense of two other good series that never got a chance ... MIB replaced "Calamity Jane" and BB replaced "Brats of the Lost Nebula.")

Mary Flanders: Starting again? Well, it's only natural to be nervous, really. One thing for sure is that you always have trouble letting go of the first one you loved. I might be one of the lucky ones ... my split with my ex was reasonable and friendly, and we're still friends even now (she kids me about putting out an APB on me ... so you can pretty much guess she knows about Ravyn).
Seriously, though ... if it feels right, go for it, Mary. That's all I can tell ye on the matter. That and good luck to both you and Bahemut.

SOROW: It's called "going steady," FYI. And way to go, girl!

**sighs briefly, glancing up to the candle's flame, then continues**

Top ten shows of the '90s, huh? I think I can give a pretty thoroughly well-balanced list ...
1: Gargoyles
2: ReBoot
3: Ally McBeal
4: Xena: Warrior Princess (first three seasons)
5: 7th Heaven
6: The X-Files (first four seasons)
7: The Pretender
8: ER
9: Chicago Hope
10: Mystery Science Theater 3000

Here's a new tack for this list ... 10 *worst* shows of the '90s in my opinion:
1: NYPD Blue (there hasn't been a single episode of this series that's been remotely watchable for me)
2: Melrose Place
3: Silk Stalkings
4: Baywatch (there's only two reasons why this show was the world's most watched, and Pamela Anderson just got rid of them this year.)
5: Jerry Springer
6: Pepper Ann
7: *ANY* incarnation of Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, VR Troopers, or whatever the hell they come up with next from the right hand of Satan known as Haim Saban.
8: Histeria!
9: Ellen (all eps after coming out ... Ellen forgot that the point of her show was to be *funny,* not just to point out that she was gay)
10: Spider-Man (later seasons when the shows were so rushed they felt like "Speed Racer" episodes, especially in the dialogue ... the series had a lot of potential for me *before* they started speeding up the pacing of the actors.)
I might point out that these are my own personal opinions in this list, so if you're offended, I apologize in advance.

**sits back in the lawn chair, fixating on the candle's flame once more**

Hi all! I know it's been a little while since last post, but things have been a little hectic for me between school and trying to find a job and things like that.

**SHORT RP!***
Bronx still finds herself in the god aful desert, however, now she does have company. "So jack, where have you been all this time?"
Jack paused for a moment, then answered "I've been in section 32 for a time.. looking after this world."
Bronx sighs, this was going to be a long trip, and her brother is full of secrets.

**END RP***
Whew, I know I'm not really good at doing Rp here in the Cr, but I suppose practice makes perfect!

On Love> I might be a little late on commenting about this but oh well what the heck. It seems like there is alot of different opinions on the subject, what love is supposed to be, or what the negativity is causes, but in my opinion, it's a little of both. Today in the movies, people portray love as a happy ending thing, where it normally runs like this:
People meet, there is a presence of a feeling, they hook up but then something gets in the way, and they tear apart, but then the realize that they do belong together, and they live happily ever after.

Yeah Right. When in Hollywood.......

In real life though, love doesn't permit this. It's a trial and error thing, and there really isn't such a thing called love at first sight. (well maybe, I've seen it happen sometimes, but only in the utmost rare occasions) Friendships IMHO can often change into a relationship, and this is caused by very fraglie steps. It's really hard to go from being friends, to being an item. Elisa and Goliath had this problem- they felt that there was something more than friendship, but due to differences and the fact that if they did go farther, the bond would be broken and everything would be changed.

"You can't always get want you want, but if you try sometime, you can get what you need."- Mc Jagger

Compromise, a word that should keep in all couple's minds. In love, there should always be strong bonds so that there is never a point in time where there is awkward silence (that I really hate when that happens!) Also, IMO there must a line where love doesn't have to be there, (this is where some negative points turn up, be warned!) but however each other's presence and company only. It's really conforting to know that someone is right beside you, and that you know you don't have to be alone. Augh I truly gag at some points when I see people making out in the school hallways. Physical attraction is apart of love yes, but there is always a time and a place for that thing.

Anyway, I feel like I'm going to ramble now, so I will not continue with this!

Beast Machines> I finally saw the preview for it, and it looks pretty darn good!

New DBZ eps> Darn, I would've really liked to see them, unfortunetly though my cable doesn't have it available for ordering or viewing on television. So for now... I suppose I'll have to ask my Grandma very nice and maybe she will tape them for me at her house..

Night Walker> I didn't forget about you my rookery brother! I will answer your email back very soon I promice.

Will post some more later! Until then mes a mis!

Heeeelllllooooo everyone! Well, last night was probably one of the most perfect nights of my life, and my cutie and I are really thinking about going official (if that's what you call it)!

Princess Mononoke> I was watching a Siskel and Ebert special on animation and they had a preview for this. THe one part I saw was a girl and some sort guy sword fighting. I was just thinking that the girl looks a lot like my idea of Sata... if she were human.

Hello people! I don't think you need to worry about me and my love life anymore because I've found someone who is very funny and just about as kinky as me. ;P I believe some of you know Bahemut. I really like talking to him and last night we talked on the phone (the I won't say what about since it isn't very decent.;) He's more up-key for me than Dags and he's very enjoyable. I have to say he's growing on me VERY fast. But I also have to admit that I feel a bit nervous about starting a new relationship. I've never been in a real relationship before IRL and all guys kept at a distance from me and I just feel kinda nervous about all of it. I really like Bahemut but I can't help having these jitters. :/

Been a bit.
I'm starting to get bored of the THE GARGOYLES SAGA Comment Room. Usually I'll get interested in GARGOYLESish related discussion for about a month or so and then get uninterested. The excellent Episodes in THE GARGOYLES SAGA got me back in here, and the variety of topics that came up caused me to stay. I'm starting to get bored again, though.
Nevertheless, it seems I should've been in here.
The topic of caring for one another is a rather sensitive one, as is life itself, I'll be giving my views on that after I conclude other business, whatever little amount there is here.

First of all, the whole debate with Irina and Jewel Faulkner. Everything from it from where it started to perspectives and such have been moved out of this Comment Room and into Electronic Mail. So I'm not responding here anymore to that.
Its over now anyway, but regardless, just making sure there's no room for confusion here.

Doug-About the LUNAR Stories. Inform me when you read some, please, over Electronic Mail if I absent myself from this place again, or here if I don't.

Xenobia, Royce, and Phacia-Yes, they're in LUNAR: SILVER STAR STORY: COMPLETE. Note, though, its not an Anime, its a Video Game!

Caring and Love-Okay, this is a sensitive topic. So's life, too. I could probably go on about both life and caring for hours but I have other things to do.
This is my own view on this, and isn't in response to any commentary... Yet. I'll respond during the debate to the few viewpoints that got my attention moreso than others... From the way they were phrased, et cetera. Or maybe not, it depends on what comes up in the way I phrase this.
Doug, Kitainia, this should also show you why 'romantic' is a very, very shallow term, in my opinion, for Fei's, and Elly's relationship in XENOGEARS, as well as Goliath, and Elisa in GARGOYLES.
First of all, caring has nothing to do with physical attraction. If you think someone is pretty or handsome or whatever that's to be ignored. A physical relationship can be part of caring for someone, that's one form of unity. However, that depends on the person.
The whole meaning of friendship, and/or the next level, caring, or love, whichever term you wish to use, is to support one another. Humans are, by themselves, imperfect. That's why people have friends. To overcome that imperfection, and to support each other. That's why people need to have friends, and need to be cared for. That's why so many people want to be cared for, most likely. To have someone to go to when they're insecure, and vice versa. That's where emotional support comes in.
What it means to live, in my opinion, is to protect people you have as friends, and/or care for, and keep them from harm, as well as support your friends. And to have that support, both friendship, and beyond, returned. Even if not, to at least attempt to support others.
Okay, this'll start to show a bit of my philosophy about life now, at least in terms of selfishness, since the two aspects, life, and caring, are so intertwined.
Onwards.
In my opinion, many humans are selfish because they have no one to turn to. They've been rejected and despised by others so much that they think only they can help themselves and thus become selfish. Only wherever this vicious cycle started, when mistakes were probably made, and people couldn't support each other, most likely, is regardless. Its a cycle, though, because the continuous causings of pain, and agony are a result of this. It probably started from misunderstandings, present day society is the result.
Because people are alone they turn to themselves because they think only they can solve their problems. They have to support themselves because they have no one to turn to, and don't have time to support others. So others, viewing them as selfish, classify them as selfish. That's the majority of the population, it seems, although there are so many aspects there that even a 'half-generalization' isn't appropriate. That's why many people are selfish, though.
Then there are the results. The ones who force themselves to be strong while deep down they want to be coddled and comforted by others but won't show it because they're afraid. The ones who want to be healed so badly that they appear so selfish they might get rejected, or feel guilty. The point is, that's okay, too. If someone helps them they can live as well. The worst case situation is when someone is completely shattered by life, and just plain loses faith in humanity. Demona is an example of this, but Krelian is probably the best example here. Lacan, too, but Krelian's views touch upon life, and love much more in-depth.

"All humans do is place themselves at a comfortable distance from one another and call it 'mutual understanding', 'spiritual unity', or 'true love'. But it is all lies!! For one being to gain something another must lose it. Man cannot associate with others without first deceiving himself. That is the way humans are."-Krelian
XENOGEARS

That's sad.
Its not true, although it can appear that way. Some people want to be comforted so much they'll make mistakes, and just wrap themselves up. That's another aspect. They want to be comforted that they neglect what's really important in life, and thus, another person, or people, get hurt.
Comfortable distance... That's not true, either.
Yes, some people do, under deception of thinking they're in love. Most likely the third case scenario, those who will do anything to be loved, to the point of throwing all their pain on someone else, and having them deal with it. The third case and fourth case, the people who are really hurt by life, are usually the ones rejected the most, or they're afraid they'll be rejected, and they'll just retreat, and/or get hurt until they do retreat. Or become like the fourth case, like Demona.
She was hurt by her own actions, people can obviously be hurt by the actions of others.
Most people seem to think its wrong to show weakness, from what I've seen. That's wrong, thinking its wrong to show weakness is wrong. The third case, I've explained there. Take all their problems and then heal the person and they can live. In the fourth case, much more healing could be required, it all depends. Maybe less, depending on the individual.
Caring doesn't just mean boyfriend/girlfriend, it also means caring about anyone, or family.
Romance is a stupid on-the-surface term for caring about someone of an opposite gender. True, in some cases, that may be all that there is to a relationship... Just like 'dating' and 'looks' seem to be the norm in many other cases. Romance and physical relationships are, by themselves, lies. The term can be applied, perhaps, but that's only if the aspect enters relationships. Physical relationships should not be the result of looks but of unity.
Full physical relationships obviously involve mating. Mating is to produce children, its a sacred act that should not be misused, or abused for any other reason. I hear that many people do use this particular aspect for other reasons, and it disgusts me. Creating life should never be abused.
That doesn't mean I'm criticizing physical unity. Some people choose to become physically one before marriage, and while I don't agree with that, I will not criticize that. There's a difference between abusing mating and physical oneness.
However, marriage is important.
Marriage forms family, so then, physical oneness is definitely not a problem. Before marriage, well, its a bit different. Marriage creates a family, so in my opinion physical oneness should be reserved for after marriage, especially since its really to create life.
Physical oneness and creating life should be reserved for after marriage, but I'm not criticizing other choices. I will criticize using mating for 'fun', or 'enjoyment', which is abusing the privelege of creating life.
True caring comes from the heart and the soul, and is based around supporting each other. Its not just admitting love and/or kissing and all those types of aspects. It wasn't really necessary for Elisa to kiss Goliath at the end of HUNTERS' MOON, although it was in character. But since they both knew they really did care about each other, the kiss would have been unnecessary, without it, it was still obvious that then they did love each other.
And it wasn't romance. Their relationship is that of trust and emotional support. Emotional support, again, is the center of what caring should be, and deals with trust, and all those aspects, but especially with Goliath, and Elisa's relationship. The trust, of course. And having a close friend to depend on. Their relationship is emotional support, but seems chiefly in various issues. Trust and having someone who is human to show care, and that can be cared for.
Fei and Elly... Emotional support and all aspects involved, their relationship deals with all aspects of emotional support, and unity. Understanding and spiritual unity simply from understanding one's feelings. If you can care for someone well enough you should be able to understand them.
Spiritual unity is one of the most important aspects of caring, second only to being a family.
Marriage is a way to make unity into family, and family is the absolute most improtant aspect of life there is. The people in a family are always the most important.
Also, again, caring doesn't just involve boyfriend/girlfriend relationships, and marriage. There are plenty other aspects of love. Too many people assume that love just means boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. That's wrong. Love and caring are just another way of giving emotional support to someone, no matter who it is.
Love and caring are the two most important aspects of emotional support, they are emotional support, in a way. Emotional support is one of the two most important aspects of life, the other being family.

Coyote: Yep. Dearborn. EAST Dearborn to be exact. The west end of town as a density closer to 3-4 people per house or less.
Anal as hell citzen's group, though.
Saturday Morning: You mean there are actually CARTOONS still on Saturdays? Last I saw, it was basicailly Mighty Morphine Powerless Rangers and Beetle Borgs paired against SEVERLY chopped bugs and tweety.

Cherry Blossom: Trust me, it's not by choice. The longest I ever went like that (<3 hours of sleep per night/day) was when I was delivering papers at 2am, working at Office Depot 12pm to 6pm AND staying up to be with people (Personally though, I almost wish I didn't stay up to be with people.) That lasted roughly a month, and I averaged less than 3 hours per 24 hour period. And yes, I almost did fall asleep. I am pretty sure that I DID fall asleep and was finishing my paper route asleep. When I walked into Office Depot (This was when I first worked there and it was half-way decent) I knew I looked undead.

SJ: Let me guess... you did your post in WORD first, right?

Speaking of hentai... I was browsing for adult Disney sites, found 5, and on one of them were 2 pictures of Demona. Those very pictures are also available in the Adult GFW.

<PRIASE//GIVER-OF-WILL> (Ok... so I am a Starseige fan.)

Nightwalker: "All is Full of Love" is the song Bjork has on the Stigmata soundtrack. Third best on the CD IMO (the best is Natalie Imbruglia's Identify).

I promise I'll make a really long post on monday . Just a few quick replies.

Wilek and Xanathar-Thanx guys for trying to help, actuall deadly force was another one I had lined up to show her. But fate has delt me yet another bad card , that ep. was also lost to me.another one of my faves.

Firestorm-"All is full of love" by Bjork. That's actually the only bjork video that I've not seen . I've only seen pics of it. If you thought that one was great you should see Hunter. My fav.

Anyone that's interested-If you'd like to own all of bjork's videos from her first [Human behavior] to hunter you can find all 14 on Volumen [VHS]. And if you have DVD volumen has all 16 of her videos [released a few weeks after the VHS version so they added her two new ones]. I have the VHS version and haven't stopped watching it. You can find it at a Music near you.

Oh, and does anybody know which song Bjork has on the Stigmata soundtrack.

Another long one, not a title but a toss up. The longest one sylible word . Screeched.

Goodnight my rookery brothers and sisters. See you all on monday.

P.S. !@$@!@%!@% I just remembered , did I miss TGC today or has it changed . I heard that It was supposed to come on today but couldn't find it in the t.v.guide. NNNOOOOOOOO!!!.

goodnight all.

**No RP tonight either. My characters probably won't be doing much worthy of commenting upon until just before the fight with the cybersmurf...**

Fire Storm> <<Sounds like a DOOM cheat code. (DKSPISPOPD)>> It is, actually; the code was based on the game. There's a whole weird story there that I can't remember and I can't find anymore...

Jewel> <<And is it just me, or were cartoons, in general, much cooler in the 80's?>> It's not just you, my friend; they don't make them like this anymore. The 80s were the golden age of animation. Granted, the SFX weren't terribly advanced compared to the modern day, but that never stopped the shows from being incredibly kewl. I like to think that Gargoyles was made in the spirit of being a modern 'upgrade' to the grand old tales of the 80s--the same kinds of excellent stories and fascinating characters, with the interesting additions of an ongoing continuity and a literary bent. (To think this came from Disney. <G>) I believe the decline in modern animation can be primarily traced back to one Doug Funnie, may he burn in the eternal flames of perdition where his eyes will be plucked out by ravenous birds and his soul chopped into confetti and thrown onto a parade of serial murderers and network executives. Where was I? Oh, yes--It's about time we had a renaissance. Fortunately, such a thing may be in the works--anyone hear about a new CGI film called Final Fantasy? If it succeeds (along with Princess Mononoke), animation will finally escape from the shackles of 'childishness' to which society--Western society, at least--has condemned it. If it fails... <<They're even betting on what this mystery man is going to look like (so far, bets are on me meeting some 6'5" blond Norweigan named Sven).>> Will a 6'3" blonde gargoyle do just as well? ;P j/k

Doug> $<<Forfexx is a devout Christian? With Anoth I can see it, but Forfexx? Mr. Insane Gory Violent Man is a born-again?>> <L> It's hard for him not to be, when he saw it happen. ;) The whole Punisher bit started out as penance. He grew to enjoy it. >:) <<It appears so. The paper trail of their cash leads directly back to Marsh Industries, and beyond that to a company called Cloverleaf Corporation.>> Thailog didn't happen to inherit the thing from one Judge Doom, did he? <G>$ You seem to remember a lot about 80s cartoons. Oh how I envy that. ;) All I ever remember about shows from that long ago is a few vague details about the characters and general premise... <<Looks like I remember the vehicles more than the humans who drove them. :)>> Unsurprising; they were *extremely* kewl. I think I have most of them (albeit with a missing piece here and there). Of course, there were a lot I managed to miss. Oh, how I wish I'd been a more avid collector back then...

Princess Estra> <<pray for me guys, i'm going to a proffessional audition for a musical theater... i'm wanna be in "A Christmas Carol" one of my favorites!>> Kewl! Hope you make it. ^_^

Spacebabie> <<Oh I remember another cartoon COPS! There was one guy called Long arm who had this cool weapon.>> Hm...much of what I remember about that show involved what I believe was a member of the Sevarius family who had an exposed brain and insane glasses. :)

Sarge> <<Top Ten things you should't tell/ask the Mutates [...]>> ROTFL! :D

Coyote> <<What's worse about that accident is that it's on the very same highway that has had petitions filed about it, *urging* the provincial government of Ontario to widen it from its current width to four lanes each way (it's currently two.). It's one of the deadliest stretches of highway in Canada right now.>> Hm...then hopefully this accident will finally get the government to wake up and realize just how bad that highway is. <<Somebody please pull the execs' heads out of their @$$es long enough to see that their Saturday morning programming is dying a slow, painful and lame-ass death, PLEEEASE!!>> Oh how I wish that were possible, but I do believe it's too late--the ABC execs seem to have rammed their heads so far up that particular orifice that they have blipped themselves into an intestinal alternate reality. Look what they did to Reboot. Remember in 'The Quick And The Fed', where Bob got into a medieval-type game, and one of the game sprites almost pushed him into a pit full of spikes? ABC decreed that the makers of Reboot must never show a main character in that kind of mortal danger again. I swear by the Triat. What fools these mortals be.

SJ> <<His use of angels and demons as actual protagonists/antagonists has influenced me>> I haven't read those books, but I do hope to incorporate several good and evil angels into my own ficverse. :)

Lex Atello- I *did* do a gargs/TMNT crossover, but I never typed it out. Its in a notebook somewhere, and the world is better off if it stays that way.

Those whose football teams have won- Congrats!

Long movie titles- To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar? Thats 8 words...

Top ten animated cartoons? Hmm... American and otherwise... Only 10 is tough... My list starts off the same as Coyote's...
1.Gargoyles
2.ReBoot
3.Beast Wars
4.Slayers/Slayers NEXT
5.Batman: TAS
6.Dragonball/Dragonball Z
7.Sailor Moon (Japanese version only)
8.Robotech/Macross
9. Sonic the Hedgehog (The Good Saturday Morning one!)
10.The Critic

My list is based on how determined I was to catch every episode, if I have a lot on tape, etc. etc. The Tick for instance did not make the list as I haven't a single episode on tape. I don't have the Critic on tape either, but as one of the greatest comedy series ever, it deserves it. (Pinky and the Brain while good I can't watch indefinatley, while I still get a kick out of Critic reruns.) Swat Kats didn't make the list, only because every episode is the same. (Great show tho.) Road Rovers came REAL close, but it only had 13 episodes, and 3 or 4 of those were pretty lame... Pirates of Darkwater loses out because they never finished the series... I could go on and on. I have something more along the lines of a top 50...

COPS- I was just thinking the other day about a show with characters named Bulletproff and Miss De Meanor, and for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was!

Princess Mononoke- I have been looking forward to this thing since like a year and a half ago when I first saw previews...

SJ- To answer your anime questions...

Big eyes: Inspired by Walt Disney's animated films like Snow WHite. Bigger eyes can show more emotion, though they got REALLY carried away in the late 80's and early 90's.

Hair coloring- Anime law 31- Law of Follicular Chroma Variabilty. Any color in the spectrum is considered a natural hair color. This color can change without warning or explanation.

Real answer- Usually stories are done in black and white. Hair is left colorless since almost everyone in Japan has black hair, and its a waste of time to color it in. Upon becoming animated or reprinted in color, editors have hair colors made wierd colors to distinguish characters. This has been done so long, it is now a tradition, and hair colors now represent particular character types. (Red meaning fiery personality for instance.)

Long legs- Thats just artist preferance, and it really doesn't happen all that much outside of Sailor Moon and various hentai.

Incidentally, there really is a list of anime laws which I've been adding to. I'm up to 51.

SJ looked at the cloning tank, where inside the glass in the nutrient bath a tiny embryo was growing slowly....growing into a
fully grown clone of Jim Iza Noying. The young geneticist sighed. "Dern it, the process is still going too slow. At this rate, it'll
take several more hours, maybe even a few more days, before it's fully grown and ready to be 'born'."
"I guess we'll have to wait," Kari said.
"I wish we could, but with that psycho Smurf threatening to blow up huge chunks of the Earth, we don't have the time. We
really should get back up to the Avatar and join Wilek and the others again. If we're going to help in this fight, we'll need to
get up there and get prepared."
Kari looked at the growing clone. "Will he be okay while we're gone?"
"Sure. He may even finish growing. But he'll be fine....as long as the Smurf doesn't blow up Washington, that is. What I'm
worried about is, will *you* be okay? It hasn't been that long since your...you know, injury."
"I'm fine," she said with a smile. "Don't worry about me. Let's just get up to the Avatar and take out that little blue freak. I
want to get back here to my brother as soon as possible."
SJ nodded, and began to prepare the Scimitar for their return flight....
****END RP FOR NOW****

Attention Anime fans!!! The trailer for the upcoming theatrical film, "Princess Mononoke", is now on the net!!! For those
who aren't familiar with the movie, it was highly critically acclaimed in Japan--I believe it was the highest grossing film in the
nation's history till Titanic rolled around. Well, Neil Gaiman (author of "Sandman" and other cool stuff) adapted the
screenplay for the English-speaking audiences, and a cast of some of Hollywood's top actors/actresses (such as Claire Danes
and Gillian Anderson) have added their voices to it. It's coming out this fall, and is *not* a children's film. It is a beautiful epic
that is very mature and wonderful. Click on my name to go to the link to check out the trailer, but be warned: I believe you
have to have Quicktime 3 or better to view it.

Speaking of anime, I agree to an extent with Taleweaver. Anime can be really, really....well, weird. Like for instance, not to
be racist or anything, but how come nobody in those films has slanted eyes? They've got peepers bigger than mac trucks,
everyone of them! And what's up with the hair coloring? Nobody has naturally pink, blue, or bright green hair! Why are the
woman's legs totally disproportionate to the rest of their bodies? I need answers!!! ;)

Stigmata: Thanks to all of you who have given some support. I'm not against the Catholic Church, in fact I applaud their
stance on defending themselves from blatant attacks on them. But I do not like people like William Donohue blasting films like
Dogma or Stigmata over their content, when they haven't even seen the movies! I read a press packet Donohue and the
Catholic League put out a few weeks ago attacking Dogma for its content. There was not one, *not one*, first hand review
of the film. It was all "this person said this offensive thing was in there". Can they really be sure it was blatantly offensive
without seeing the movie? Perhaps the "offensive" quote or scene was taken out of context. The point is, I don't care if they
don't like films like Dogma or Stigmata, that's their right. I get angry though, when they condemn films like this without even
seeing them, so that they would know themselves what the content was like. Who knows, they could watch a film like
Dogma, and realize it's not an attack on the church, just a religious satire.
But, to sort of go into a whole other can of worms here, let's say these films are offensive to the Catholic Church. Is it really
right to try to make sure they *never* get aired (like they're trying to do with Dogma) when those films are free speech? Or
more importantly, like I said before, will these films really make people hate Catholics? I mean, it's like the whole "violent
movies make kids kill" nonsense. A few f***ed up kids, maybe, but most people, no. I think it's sort of the same way here;
even if these films were offensive, I doubt they'd encourage anybody else to hate Catholics. I don't like to think that the entire
American culture/society would change their views negatively towards Catholics just cause of a movie.

Doug: I'm actually looking forward to "Mystery, Alaska", for no other reason than the ultra-talented Russell Crowe. It's a
shame that he didn't get nominated in some way for his role in "L.A. Confidential", or that he hasn't made it to Hollywood's
upper echelon, while less-deserving people (IMO, folks like Tom Hanks or John Travolta) get 20 mill per crappy movie they
make. I'm hoping the movie does well, but I'm sure that Russell will get his "real" big break when Ridley Scott's "Gladiator"
comes out (Crowe is the leading man).
I sort of agree about Bruce Willis, though. I personally don't think the man has much talent aside from the Die Hard movies. I
mean, what, the Sixth Sense was supposed to show us he can act? The kid did a better job! Oh, and great payoff in that
movie, yeah yeah yeah. Oooo, scary. Bah humbug.

Cherry Blossom: I'm a fan of Frank Peretti! I've read about four of his books: This Present Darkness, Piercing the
Darkness, Prophet, and the Oath. All were excellent IMO. His use of angels and demons as actual protagonists/antagonists
has influenced me, and I hope to someday incorporate some of his ideas in my own fanfic. Of all his books, though, my
favorite was probably "Prophet". It's unbelievable stuff, very spiritual and emotional. Definitely worth reading. :)

I'm hoping that I can stay in here regularly now wihtout any interference from my mom, but hey, oh well.

nightwalker< yes! you aren't alone at all, bcuz Lexy and I live in the same town and obviously she is a Gargs lover, so... you're really not alone.

Long titles< well, I had one a minute ago, but I forgot it. it was the Disney movie with the garbage man turned football hero? that was pretty long if I recall correctly.

Firestorm< how can you survive getting 3 hours of sleep per night? I did it lasst night and I almost am falling asleep on myself!! wow

random subject< does anyone know how the conclusion to the Miami vs. Packers game went?? I went to bed and not a single one of my friends could help that I know of, so it would be really nice if you could help out.I think it was on Thursday.

Frank Peretti< the first book I read by him was This Present Darkness and I couldn't believe how it held my attention!! Until then I couldn't get my attention to stay on a book for more than a day or two (granted it was usually enough to finish the book hehe) but it really held me.
and while a bunch of you are talking about christians, I was wondering, who are the christians??
Coyote the Bando< I'm sorry, you have lost me. I do know that quite often there is a girl called Rayvn that goes to Gargoyles Fan Website chat room quite often. sorry

well all, I'm going to bed then, bye

Takes the time to stand in the center of the room and sing the Michigan State fight song as well as the obscene lyrics to "The Victors" (but not typing them out to keep the PG13 rating of the room intact, e-mail me if you're sick enough or hate U-M enough to want those lyrics) before sitting down.**

Good news ... like SOROW, my team won its season opener (Michigan State beat Oregon the other night). Bad news ... Michigan won *their* opener today (27-24 over Notre Dame).
Need to keep track of those two leading up to the beginning of October when they meet. :)

Menessah: Welcome to the loony bin! :)

Darwin winners: Ughhh ... oh Gawd, Darwin isn't just weeping, he's bawling his damn eyes out and revising "The Origin of Species" because he got it backwards!!

'80s 'toons: To be quite honest, I don't remember a *lot* about the 'toons, only that the two that I tried to follow regularly were the two based on Hasbro properties (G.I. Joe and Transformers). Of the oddballs, the one that I liked best was He-Man, mainly because that was the only one that I was able to catch on a semi-regular basis ... the others I was *lucky* if I caught an ep.

Cherry Blossom: Quite unconsciously, you've given voice to a thought I've been tortured by in these months that Ravyn has been incommunicado. I wholeheartedly agree with you.
**sighs, fixates briefly on the candle's flame, then continues**

Wilek: What's worse about that accident is that it's on the very same highway that has had petitions filed about it, *urging* the provincial government of Ontario to widen it from its current width to four lanes each way (it's currently two.). It's one of the deadliest stretches of highway in Canada right now.

Fire Storm: You mean Dearborn, right? Yeah, I know about that kind of crowding, I have an uncle that lives down that way.
And now that ye mention it, I *do* recall that January wreck ... in the middle of that blasted blizzard we got hit with at the start of the year, IIRC.

Princess Estra: Why limit yourself to simply American-produced 'toons? Here's *my* list ...

Top Ten Cartoons, Regardless of Nation of Origin:
1: Gargoyles (U.S.)
2: ReBoot (Canada)
3: Slayers/Slayers Next (Japan)
4: Batman Beyond (U.S.)
5: Pokemon (Japan)
6: Starship Troopers (U.S.)
7: Robotech/Macross (Japan)
8: Liquid Television (U.S./Canada)
9: South Park (U.S.)
10: The Critic (U.S.)

Shogun: I certainly agree with that sentiment ... too many toons on TV today are real-life based 'toons involving crudely-animated kids dealing with everyday life. It isn't an escape at all, like you'd think you'd want. I know, I know, Disney's execs are trying to pander ... err, market ... to pre-teen girls, but geez-o-pete, "Pepper Ann" is *the* most Gawdawful boring shows I've ever seen. The title character is a raging egomaniac whose life isn't any more deserving of spotlighting than anyone else's ... so how does she rate her own 'toon? Somebody please pull the execs' heads out of their @$$es long enough to see that their Saturday morning programming is dying a slow, painful and lame-ass death, PLEEEASE!!

Silverhawks>
Villains> Moleculad (evil shapeshifter), melodia, yes-man, and the minotaur was named mumbo-jumbo, and if memory serves, Hardware looked a bit like Slithe and more like a goblin from the hobbit movie by rankin-bass (gee I wonder why *sarcasm*)
Heroes> Bluegrass (counterpoint to melodia) Hocus-pocus (the only black guy in the whole show) Moonstriker, and Condor (a new recruit and Stargazer's former partner, respectively)

and in terms of C.O.P.S. (central organization of police specialists)

Todd: I read that Puck, Oberon, and Titania article in this month's Dragon. Thought it was very good, worked well for the play Midsummer Night's Dream. Not as well for Gargoyles, but that's not a problem. :)

Spacebabie: I remember COPS. Good show. The good guys were: Bulletproof (cool leader), Mace (tough guy), Long Arm (you're right, he did have one cool weapon!), Barricade (broke doors down), Bowser and Blitz (animal master and his K-9), some smart investigative guy whose name I can't remember, and a girl copter pilot called Barrage. Others too but I can't remember who they were.
The Bad Guys side had a crime boss aptly named Big Boss, his four main goons (Berserko, Rock Crusher, Turbo, and Miss De Meanor), and a female cat burglar called Nightshade.
That show definitely gets my award for cool names.

I remember the names for Silverhawk too. Let's see, there was...
Good Side: Quicksilver, Talyhawk, Steelwill, Steelheart, Copper Kid, Flashback, Backlash, Commander Stargazer.
Bad Side: Monstar, Sky Shadow, Buzzsaw, the minotaur (can't remember his name), Hardware (orc with toolbox of tricks), Windhammer (other orc with big spear that could shoot tornados), Poker Face, Timestopper, and some other guy (forgot who he was). Have I helped bring your memories back? :)

Where have I been, WHERE have I BEEN? Well technically I was off having a fun filled weekend right before labor day starts and hell breaks loose. Sure my B-day is tuesday, but labor day just means work right after. Work Work Work.

I was playing my friends playstation, Monster Rancer mostly. Okay game but I rather get Pokemon for my N64. I've also been going to many fairs around the state of Vermont!

It took me awhile to finnally load this up, and then the computer waited five minuets until I could read anything. So I've decided to get rid of this junk. I've also decided to hire some gargoyles to destroy it.

They[the gargs] of course are from my stories which I haven't put up yet, but hey I like to add a little RP here and there.......

::two gargoyles come out with the large Macintosh, one is a maroon colored with black hair, and the other is pure white with pink eyes and glasses. Picking it up they throw the computer to the ground and start ripping it up::

Now while they polietly shread that I will continue with the other things.

Top-Ten after Comment room Wipe-out!!>> I came in here and read from the beginning. I'm going to make a competition of this top ten....see ya there.

::The white garg throws a processor into a window shattering it as they continue growling and shreading::

MY top-ten>> oh I'm pleased you like them. I use to have many of them, but they were burned after a school year when I took my binder and threw it into a stove. So sometimes I make them up at the spot, other times I just write them ahead of time.

::The gargs starts using a Gilloutine against the coumpter's mouse, beheading it::

Here's another top ten

Top Ten things you should't tell/ask the Mutates.

10: (this comes from Elisa) Hey guys I'm trying to get Cagney healthy, is dry food better, or wet food?

9: Claw can you recite the Anicipation Proclomation?(I probably didn't spell that right)

8: (this comes from Diane) Don't make me neauter you son!

7: Guys, you can come out now, that dog is gone!

6: What do you MEAN you only eat mice?!?

5: I know you can't help it, but hissing at Bronx won't help.

4: You don't have to jerk your head every time a car goes by!

3: This happens every time I bring you to the park! You run after the birds and chase the squirles!

2: I don't CARE how sweet you sound when you purr! I'm not petting you Fang!

1: (This comes from Hudson) Talon, I can't watch tv and have you curled up in a ball on my lap at the same time....

_______

::The keyboard is thrown into a table denting it as the two gargoyles begin using knifes and automatic guns to disentigrate the computer::

Well I'll be trying to catch up later. See ya!

::The maroon garg walks over with a pile of dirt and hands it to Sarge:: Thanks Dan.......

Will: Wasn't ye'r tax program on that thing?

Special note to all "Gargoyles" fans who are also interested in AD&D. In the September 1999 issue of "The Dragon", there's going to be an article on how to handle the faerie-folk from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Oberon, Titania, and Puck) in AD&D. It will no doubt contain a different take on these familiar characters from the one that "Gargoyles" did on them, but you still might find it interesting. Just thought that I'd let you know.

SilverHawks.. yeah I remember that one too the main villain was named MonStar and he had a bunch of wierd cronies, like this minotaur and this guy with a real pokerface.
and their was this reoccuring cabby guy too.

I guess I also watched the real girly cartoons as well
She-Ra.My Little Pony,and Rainbow Brite.

Does anybody remember the name of this one cartoon. the premise began with the good queen dying in a parrel dimension and her enchanted horse carries her baby daughter through the gate towards our dimension and left on a single man's doorstep, and later when she is like 11 or 12 she visits her old dimension to help there. And there was this witch who had these little goblins and these evil spectors.

Oh I remember another cartoon COPS! There was one guy called Long arm who had this cool weapon.

Doug> Thanks for the comments. I personally think Survivor's Guilt was the best Freelance story so far. (I hope the upcoming trilogy I'm working on will be better)

(I'm sneaky with those shamless plugs, aren't I?)

Brigit Glorianna Ahearn (The Woman of Many Names) goes by Brigit in 'real life' (ie, that's what her adoptive parents would call her). Her stage name is Glorianna. Record company executives, reporters, and most other people shorten that to Anna. I thought about working in Glory somewhere, but decided she was confusing enough already. :) Episode three is about as bad as it should ever get with multiple names for Brigit. I tried to keep it as simple as I could, but the difusion of her identity is one of the major aspects of her character. As she develops, she will eventually have to decide who she really is, the persona she plays on stage, or the person she is when she's at home. The world will be pulling her one way, and her personal desires will be pulling in another. Then there's yet a third direction that she doesn't even know about..

**RP STARTS HERE**

Tom lowers his rifle and nods at Kaioto. "You're welcome." "Fools!" Galante's head roars at them. "I am invincible now! My soul may be in Satan's hands, but I have been given great power for it! You can never defeat me!" "Shut up," Tom snaps, kicking his head through the open rift like a soccer ball. The dark portal closes behind Galante, and all the remaining Bone Devils vanish instantly. "Nice work," Kaioto tells Tom, the Schoolgirl Scouts nodding in agreement. "No problem," Tom smiles. "I'm just glad you were to help eliminate those two." Suddenly a loud horn honking from outside interrupts them. "What's that?" They rush outside to find Shogun's team watching as a gray VW Rabbit swings into the hotel parking lot. "You guys are still here?" Tom asks Shogun. "Why didn't you come help me?" "We were about to," Doc Congo assures him, "but then we got knocked out and these other people showed up." "Oh." The Volkswagen suddenly stops in front of them and a familiar figure hops out. "Mr. Miller!" she shouts, instantly recognizing Tom. "I thought I might find you in Akron." "Agent Ripowski?" Tom asks. "What are you doing here?" "It's a long story," Janice answers. "We must hurry." She points at her car and the other vehicles around the parking lot. "Get your autos and follow me. I'll use my cell phone to explain on the way!"

**END FIRST HALF OF THIS POST'S RP**

Hi everyone. Happy Labor Day weekend! Hope you don't have too much homework to do over it. Kit and I have been lucky, but others might not be. :( Oh well, on with the post.

Fanfic Progress: Finally I'm up to the last big battle with Taro's forces. Part 2 of Protected Species should be done in another week and a half (work's unfortunately proceeding slowly due to school).

**WEEKEND MOVIE SPOILERS AHEAD**

Kit and I saw a couple of very good films last night. Here are our reviews and recommendations.

Chill Factor: Forget Phantom Menace. Forget Wild Wild West. Definitely forget Universal Soldier- the Return. This is the most enjoyable action smash of the summer. Not only that, it has a great plot with only a few holes and I've only seen one action flick (The Rock) with better defined and developed characters. Nice effects and preformances as well. Fitting they saved the best summer action flick for last, huh? 9/10, thumbs up. Go see it, you will not be disappointed. <grin>

Outside Providence: This movie was also great. Before I saw it, I thought the Farelly brothers could only make drivel full of dumb toilet humor like There's Something About Mary (Yes, I know a lot of people liked that film, but we didn't, excuse the personal opinions). This movie was much better than it in a number of ways. It had much better script and plot, way more interesting and well-developed characters, and fortunately never resorted to stupid toilet humor in order to get attention and get its message across. Great preformances from Alec Baldwin, Amy Smart, and the actor who played Tim (forgot his name). Also had a perfect soundtrack. Definitely go see this movie, just be aware that it is suffering from false advertising. The Farrelly brothers may have made it, but it is not their usual fare (thank goodness!). 10/10, thumbs pointed up at the Eyrie's top.

**WEEKEND MOVIE SPOILERS END**

Love: Congrats to all in here who have found it. To those who haven't, good luck finding it soon. Thanks to all, especially SJ, Jenna, Kaioto, and Jaden, for the good posts on the topic. I will remember all your words about love as I continue to deal with Kit. :)

Avalon Mists: Good job on it, Christine, and all my other fellow contibutors. Liked the cartoons and pics a lot, especially the art contest ones. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of good fanfiction in this issue, though (Beth of Both Worlds was the only story I really enjoyed, the others were IMO mediocre or not that great). Still a pretty good issue, 7/10.

Green Baron: I too would be willing to take a Political Science class from you. Good luck teaching one someday. <grin>

David G: Read Freelance 3 and enjoyed it. I agree with you about readers who give stars and no other feedback. (They should send more, at least something verbal!) Don't know why the guy gave you two stars, I give you four of them. Great plot and development on James (liked how you filled in his past) and Glory (that's what I'm going to call the woman of many names :). Nice bits with the Pendragon cast too. Hope they all get together again some time, and looking forward to Hot Lead and Coldsteel.

Jewel: Glad you got out of that bad relationship. <sigh of relief> Sorry to hear it's soured you to the idea of love, though. Oh well, from some perspectives, you do make good points.

Arianna, Estra: Congrats on surviving your first days of school. Hang in there, there's a lot more coming. :)

Once Bitten: I remember that movie. It's my favorite of Jim Carrey's earlier flicks. Especially like the ending scenes. "I think I have created a monster." <girl kisses him and pulls him back down into the coffin> "Shut up." L

SJ: I too envy you for that Criminal Justice course. <sighs> Why can't UT offer one like it? It sounds so interesting and exciting. Maybe when I get on the Austin Police force I can talk to the chief and he can talk to Dr. Faulkner (UT's president) and they can get something like it set up for us. Have fun in that course, man. Hope you have a great experience and do well.

I also agree with you about Stigmata, which I am going to see no matter what the extreme religious bozos say about it. It looks like it will be an interesting movie, with cool plot and characters. The soundtrack is also wonderful (listening to it right now), especially the David Bowie and Natalie Imbruglia songs. Stigmata should definitely be a better movie than some that are coming out this fall. Especially Mystery, Alaska (If I have to sit through its preview one more time...) and Story of Us (don't get me wrong, I like Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer, but the fact that this movie has even been made says awful things about our view of marriage in the modern age. Last night Kit and I were proud to vandalize a movie poster for it outside a theater. Under the movie's slogan "Can a marriage survive 15 years of marriage?" we used a permanent marker to write and underline yes.).

Wilek: $ Forfexx is a devout Christian? With Anoth I can see it, but Forfexx? Mr. Insane Gory Violent Man is a born-again? It's hard to swallow, and yet for some reason I am not surprised. <grin> $

Silverhawks: I remember that show too. Liked it a lot. Especially the cool-powered bad guys. The good guys had nice powers and character development too. There's a lot of Quicksilver in Moro (from Protected Species) and Flashback in Seth and O'Neil. General Byron Nordstrum, who will be the commander of US Forces under President Nance in my fanfic saga's upcoming Apocalypse War, is also somewhat based on Commander Stargazer and Steelwill, my two favorites of the Hawks.

Mask: Ah, another show I liked. I remember it very well, used to collect most of its toys. Talk to me if you ever want to recall details from it, Mandi. I remember a lot. To prove it:
Good Guys- Matt Tracker (drove the Thunder Hawk, car that became a jet), Gloria Baker (part of my inspiration for Nikki, she drove the Stilleto, a car that could become both a coptor and a plane), smart tough guy (drove the Rhino, a big truck that became a tank), and funny guy (drove the Condor, a helicopter/motorbike. Helped inspire my fanfic character Zack).
Bad Guys: Called Venom. Miles Mayhem was the leader, he drove a jet that could become a helicopter. They also had a cool tank/truck called the Onslaught (yes, that's where we got the Ravens' truck's name!).
Looks like I remember the vehicles more than the humans who drove them. :) That's all I can recall for now. Thanks to you and others for the interesting crossover ideas. (Some of them I may write, <grin>

Frank Peretti: I've read that guy and I agree with Cherry Blossom. For a fundamentalist Christian writer, his work is very cool. :) Some of the main demons in my fanfic saga (including Tiamat's friend Cantrum but not the Herald of Destiny Tainethal) have been inspired by his bad guys. (Note- both of the above characters will be introduced in Season 3.)

Longest Title: For a Wayans movie. "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood." It wasn't a very good movie.

Hmm, guess that's all I came to say. I'll be going now. Later, ppl!

**RESUME RP**

The small group of vehicles heads out with Janice's Rabbit in the lead, followed by Tom, Kaioto, and the Scouts in Jammer's station wagon and Shogun's team in their van (note- I assume you guys are staying with us for now. If not, take your characters away please). "So what's the deal, Agent Ripowski?" Tom asks via cell phone (which he and her are endangering their driving by using as they go). "Well," she says, "the other Ravens have been kidnapped." "We know that," Shogun says through his van's speaker cell phone. "Tom also told us that you're their former government liasion. Do you know where Doug, Kit, and everyone are now?" "Yes," Janice replies. "They're at Area 51-A, being held by my boss, Assistant Director Kincaid of the FBI. If you follow me, I will lead you to them now." "We're following you," Tom says, "but I'm wondering something. I know Kincaid has been trying to capture us so we won't endanger civilians in our quest to defeat Thailog and his forces. I thought you supported him in that." "I do," Janice declares, "but that's not all Kincaid supports. Recently a couple friends of mine in the FBI's Internal Affairs Division uncovered evidence that someone has been giving him extra money. I did my own investigation and discovered that Kincaid is the head of a faction in the Bureau that believes in capital punishment for virtually all crimes. They were responsible for what happened at Waco and Ruby Ridge." "And let me guess," Tom says. "Now they're in Thailog's employ." "It appears so. The paper trail of their cash leads directly back to Marsh Industries, and beyond that to a company called Cloverleaf Corporation. I traced the owner of the latter, and found out his name is Alexander Thailog. An alias our adversary has used before." "So let me get this straight," Congo says. "You found out your boss is Thailog's spy in the government. So now you're betraying him to us." "Correct. I'm also going to help you free the Ravens. They are the best people around able to stop Thailog and I want them to be able to do so. On top of that, I can not stand to have a misguided traitor like Kincaid connected at all to the FBI." "Then, Agent Ripowski," Tom nods, "we accept your help. Let's get on to Area 51-A quickly. I hope Kit and the others are alright." The others nod in agreement, Kaioto and the Scouts giving silent prayers.

**TO BE CONTINUED, END RP**

SJ: I think Thai boy's death is definitely up there on the list of "unpleasant ways to die." I mean, euuuuuuuugh.

MASK: Oh, I remeber that, too! And is it just me, or were cartoons, in general, much cooler in the 80's?

Arranged Marriages: I actually think these are a good idea. Hell, if someone wants to take the time (and therefore save *me* the time and aggrivation) of trying to find someone just so I can have kids in a few years (my 28-Rule: I'm having a kid before I'm 28), great. I agree with Sevarius Jr: We focus too much on the infatuation aspect and ignore everything else. That's part of my personal; problem with the idea of <romantic> love: we focus on one aspect and forget that there are many different emotions involved.

Anti-ROmantic: Me? Not an anti-romantic? That could have been argued, oh, about 2 years ago, but not now. When I see my friends getting all coo-ey with their men, I feel my stomach cramping. When I see people sucking face, I want to scream, "OH, get a room!" I suffered through one Romance novel *once* (a friend told me I had to at least read one, and gave me one of her favorites. I was ready to be physically ill most o fthe time, and I remember screaming either, "Oh, for the love of God, that's not love, it's lust! I give the relationship 3 months, tops!!!!" or "Yeah, *that's* realistic." If I'm going to have to deal with brain candy (something that rots out your brain), I'll stick with Springer. Last Valentine's Day, I swore if I saw one more stupid heart I was going to go on a psychotic rampage. It all strikes me as being society's great illusion on itself, and completely hypocritical. For you people in love, great. I'm happy for ya. Really, I am. And I hope you enjoy your delusions and that you stay happy. But it'll be a cold day in hell for me.

<makes face> So, of course, my friends have a betting pool about how hard I'll fall and when. So far, it's up to a free dinner at a swank, overpriced restaurant of the winner's chosing. And no, I'm not kidding about the betting pool--I was there when it got started. They're even betting on what this mystery man is going to look like (so far, bets are on me meeting some 6'5" blond Norweigan named Sven). And I wonder whether or not my friends have something better to do than plot out a lovelife for me (They're in relationships, so they want me to be, too--that whole "Jumping off a cliff just because all your friends are" thing).

Jenna: Why would I be offended? Everyone has their own opinions, and I would have no right to be opinonated if I didn't allow other that right. =)

Oh, I forgot who this was supposed to go to, but it's the guy who ended his post on love my saying, "...What they seel us for $9.99 on the HSN." Reading "Grail" by Harlan Ellison. I think you'll like it.

What is wrong with me? I'm going to slap myself for not posting in four days. So sorry! Shame on me!

Football season> Last night was our first game of the season... AND WE WON! By a landslide 41 to 0! This is a miracle because Turner is known for only winning 5 games in 40 years! It was also my first performance as a drill team officer... I could go on and on how I totally messed up when I slid on my ankle, but I don't like to think "Oh, man! Everyone was watching me and I goofed up" cause I know that lots of people would want to perform in my place. At least I get 9 more chances.

Gunjack> Yeah, the Usual Suspects *was* a really twisted movie. I'll have to add that one. I love Kevin Spacey!

Spacebabie> GEM? Uh, I have no idea what that is? I think you wrote the wrong person. Sorry.

Lord of the Rings> I'm really gonna have to read that soon. I have all the books on my brother's shelf, so maybe next summer.

Gotta read Av Mists and vote for Garg contest. So much to do! I have a date with my cutie tonight, so I guess I better listen for the phone... OKIloveyoubyebye!

**RP Here**
The Catholic Schoolgirl Scouts, now decked out properly for a fight with hellspawned-devils, quickly join in the fight. Pressing what advantages they can, they are still only able to defeat a few on the skeletal monstrosities at a time. They're tendency to regenerate coupled with the danger inherent in further widening the breach has left the Scouts in a mad dash to rout devils out a few moments before the next pair arrive. The battles rage and spill across the room, but the devils are fresh and fight with un-living persistence, and the girls are being given great reason to appreciate their battle armor.
Meanwhile, Toku Kaioto bars the devil he's sensed out to be Galante from passing the door to pursue Tom. Again and again, katana laced with a faint golden fire, and bone-scythe laced with black lightening do meet. Then, the blade lock up, as both combatants lean into the lock, striving to overwhelm the other. The excommunicated bishop has put his diabolical and unholy strength behind his weapon, but the stern resolve on the Seeker's face tells of a strength bolstering his own will even as his conviction lends him a contesting power. They lean further and further together, until all that is in either field of vision is their adversary's straining sneer. Well, Kaioto could've sworn the skull was sneering.
"You. Can't. Win," the human in gray spat out as the very veins in his hands seemingly ready to burst.
"I can, I will, and I'll feast on your soul … once I'm done with the Black Raven who took away my life," Galante boasts casually, betraying no strain at all. Probably because his corporeal form had no muscles.
"He did nothing but strip away your illusions fool," the Seeker charged, bending himself onto the toes of his boots, taking higher leverage, "You sold your own soul, and now you serve Asmodeus eternally, with all the trappings your black heart has earned."
"I sold nothing!" Galante spat back out, rage betrays in his voice, "I served an ungrateful God. A disobedient flock betrayed me. The old Order has failed, and the world dies around us. Best to finish with the remnants and begin anew."
"With those who think more like you in the role of Master and Creator this time, right? Heard it all before," the been-there-done-that tone in Kaioto's voice is punctuated as he slips the weapons to one side for the split second it takes to bring his knee across and smash through the Bone demon's pelvis. Completing his step, Kaioto forces the collapsing skeletal structure further apart.
**Pause RP**

Robby: On Animaniacs, I'd have to say that Pinky and the Brain were my uncontested favorites. Right below them were Rita and Runt and the Goodfeathers. It kind of annoyed me, the show, since they were mixed in with smatterings of such crap as Buttons and Mindy and of course, Chicken Boo. *sighs* Then, just when you think they might have done something right, separating Pinky and the Brain, they throw in Elmyra. *sighs again* It is like TGC all over again, but with a comedy …

Mandolin: Yup, Wheeled Warriors … Sawboss etc … plant empath little girl nicked "sprout" and a Han Solo wannabe who was the only character I remember as decent. *nods* Mask … yup … another show with a car that's doors turned into wings when it needed to fly … a very 80s conceit. Then there were the Go-bots *shudder*

Darwin Awards: My personal favorite was the French guy who was so hell-bent on suicide that he tied a noose to a tree over a sea-side cliff, but only jumped once he had lit himself on fire. Did I happen to mention he leapt with a gun pointed at his head? He wanted to insure that it would be quick I guess. Well, to make a long story short *ignores the choruses of "TOO LATE"* he jumps, pulls the trigger too late, and severs the rope with the wild shot. He falls into the sea, extinguishing himself. Rescuers rush to the scene and save him from drowning. Hours later, he dies in an emergency ward of a long, painful bout of hypothermia

Taleweaver: <Like Sevarius Jr. mention, love is something you work at. It is something that isn't some mysterious (and I'll risk it) divine force is put to motion. I'm probably the most contradictory dragon in believe in magic in everything from dreams to a sea breeze, but don't believe in magical thinking in romance. Fancy that, a magical creature, not believing in the magic of love. Probably bending a cosmic rule somewhere.>

Well, it depends on what kind of magic we look for. Being partial to clerics and spirituality, I've always identified magic as something internal. Even that which is Divine, I regard not as coming from the outside, rather, being nurtured or stirred to blossom from within the soul. Love is indeed something that is nurtured and stirred from seeds in the soul. One does not cast a spell ON someone to inspire love, but rather, enchants one's own life, and encourages others to awaken that power in themselves. Love can not be forced, which is why it is an internal magic, and thusly overlooked in the genre of fantasy where the mages bend elemental forces to their whims so they can call down bolts of lightening to obliterate pesky people.

Even Christ taught that lesson. "Go in peace. Your faith has healed you." Sometimes God's magic in our lives is not sent down from on high, as much as left sleeping inside each of us until a time comes where we are able to accept it, and let it grow out from ourselves. I like to think that God created us with everything we need to live well, if we only have the courage to unlock those gifts, and many times the support from others to find that courage.

Since I'm heading in this direction anyway …

LOVE: Love, like most things, is a delicate balance of all aspects of what it means to be human. When these aspects come out of balance, the True definition of love is lost, and there is no longer Love, but just something people mistake for it. First off, infatuation is not love. Second, lust is not love. Lust is simply an animalistic and basic unnecessary need. It is instinct (rather unnecessary instinct too) gratification. People who act stupid because they are lusting after a particular person are not in love. Lust is characterized by behaving in often a very base manner, or a very refined manner while still bluntly seeking a single goal, sexual gratification. Infatuation isn't really love either. Infatuation is about being in love with possibilities, fantasies about others that are mostly in your head. It generally contributes to tunnel vision and failure to come to grips with reality whenever the object of that infatuation is in range. It is characterized by the "Game" mentality of trying to win the object of that infatuation over, or the idea that a person is far more than they really are. Infatuation is a rather fragile emotional state.

Love, with a capital "L" is rather odd. It is an inherently spiritual state. It is a magic that manifest from within people's souls, with many manifestations stemming from one main root virtue: Compassion. Without compassion, there is no love.

Without compassion, there is no True Understanding of another human being, because one must care enough about how another feels in order to Understand, rather than know a person. Only when one Understands another person in a way deeper than a stranger/associate relationship can one truly develop a purely interpersonal trust. Knowing a person means that your trust situations or co-dependency to keep a person from screwing you. Understanding a person means you can leave them with a knife and your back turned because your have a grasp on their own values, as well as a respect for those values and the person's character.

With compassion, it is possible to love people of either gender, because friendship and brotherhood are extensions of Love just as legitimately as a couple's "True" Love. What distinguishes the Love between two people in a relationship from love of communities or brethren is the level of intimacy that is shared between the lovers. This does not necessarily mean physical intimacy, but more an extension of trust that reaches beyond what is typical in a friendship or brotherhood. Intimacy between lovers is motivated by a mating of souls, blending two people together to benefit both in many different ways. It also, however, makes baring the soul a requirement for the deeper levels of intimacy. This makes both parties very vulnerable, requiring extreme trust and honesty. Even friendship can make us vulnerable. We can trust men and women with our lives, and even some of our hopes, but in "True" Love, two people throw their lives onto the table, not just bodies, but hearts, souls, and mental well-being all at once, and all for broke.

Obviously, Loving relationships also blossom with the buds of infatuation and lust mixed in among the roses. Lovers bring their dreams and their desires into the trusting folds of "True" Love in order to have them cherished and fulfilled. Compassionate Love, however, does not require lust or infatuation to manifest or be worthwhile, even as "True" romantic love.

We human beings all too often define our universe by means of which illusions we choose to accept in our own lives. The main difference between Love and things mistaken for Love is that Love takes compassion as a facet of the Truth, while what is mistaken for love is a large web of illusions. Truth destroys illusions. When someone lies to themselves about the abuse their spouse deals out to them, they are thinking with Love, they are weaving illusion. Obviously, we humans are creatures who simply can't part with all our illusions and selfishness, even when we "fall in love," so we never experience Perfect Love, but we can come very close in "true" Love. All too often, many of us are more "in love" with our precious illusions (like an illusion of Love) than we Love ourselves and any of our fellow human beings.

Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians says it best:

"Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and it is not resentful.

Love takes no pleasure in people's sins, but delights in the Truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

Love does not come to an end."

Obviously, I've never met a pair of lovers on the Earth who always behaved like that, but I've seen many who live their lives together, sharing with those principles at the core of meaningful, mutually fulfilling relationships for their entire lives. I've also seen families and even just unrelated communities drawn together closer in Love than some lovers and a whole lot of folks "in love."

Love is a very simple, beautiful, and easy thing to find. As with most simple, beautiful, and easily accessible things, human beings treat Love like a rainforest. At a moment's notice they bury its natural habitat under six-hundred cubic acres of concrete, steel, glass, and plastic. Then, when they want it, they go to a zoo and find a few sickly specimens of the rich life that once was. If there was something important to that rainforest, humans merely make an artificial substitute for it in a factory somewhere and mass market just that one piece, and call the experience love. Infatuation, lust, or just plain old dependency are to Love what herbal tree oils are to the experience of the rainforests. However, our society and modern age make it much easier to go into a drug-store and pick up some oils then to travel to South America or Africa to see the dwindling natural wonders of the earth. Then, they use a lot of clever hype and advertising to brain-wash you into feeling like you haven't been cheated.

I'll never be cynical about Love, just what Society tries to sell me in its place under the same name for $19.95 on the Home Shopping Network.

And you can quote me on that.

**Resume RP**
The effect of Kaioto's quick strike is not really enough to shatter a Bone Devil, however. Quite efficiently, the two halves of Galante's form right themselves, even with only half a backbone each. Lashing claws strike out from either side as the Seeker tries to turn around. He only gets to block one …
With the sickening sound of rending flesh and sinew, the blacked claws at the end of Galante's skeletal hands tear into the shoulder of the gray trench coat, and the flesh beneath it.
Swallowing his scream and quickly blocking off the pain, the Seeker redirects much of his energies to warding the supernatural toxins invading his body from attacking his heart. He stumbled back into the fold of the Catholic Schoolgirl Scouts, trying to right himself even as Galante's headless body reconstructs itself and presses its advantage.
Then, a rumbling blast, unnatural sizzling and popping sounds, and an unholy shriek of frustration. Kaioto focussed him dimming eyes on the form of the Black Raven Tom, standing in the doorway. Returned from the parking lot, Tom is carrying a plasma rifle. All that is left of Galante's body is a black stain on the ground while his head curses impotently from the floor.

Bijork: Saw a Bijork video on MTV|2, and I have to say I wish that my VCR was recording. REALLY cool animatronics!

Warpmind: Sympathy? Hmm... Well, you DO have my pity. i have a few 486/33's sitting in my basement at my parents house. Word is that my dad is using one as a Unix box.

Xanathar: Yeah, I got System Shock on a bargin label. REALLY good game. Damn near the best one I ever played, plot wise.

Lady Arianna of Annwn: Senior Year: Hey, mine went REALLY wierd at some parts. I WAS able to get closer to most of my classmates, though. What happened was that one of my friends took a picture from another friend (All this took place at the second friends locker.) I took the picture from the first one to give it back to the second one, then he decked me! I gave him a look that said "What was that for?"
Soon after, everyone was being nice to me (I was able to get some Tylenol from a student. The office WILL NOT give any!) and I got a hug from one of the (very drunk) hot girls in school. After that, I started to hang a little with everyone in my class. I had always been well known, but during senior year, more of them talked to me.
(Point? Whats that?)

Spike: May you children have kids that are just like them!
(On that note, I don't think I want to have kids from what my parents tell me about me. If they are ANYTHING like me, I swear I would kill them. ;)

Ironwolf: GEEZ! And I thought I was a LITTLE bad.
But I have to agree with you about girls and boys. I was a terror when I was little and mellowed out in my teens. My sister... Well... to my parents she was sweet, anyway.

Mandolin: Ya know... I could actually see a Power Rangers/SG1 crossover working.

Jenniren: <Yeah, it was on now, so why didn't I feel it before? I still haven't figured that out. >
Well... Lets see... If you wern't properly grounded and it was a high voltage, low current (It sounds like a static electricity charge), you wouldn't have felt it. Were you wearing shoes? The charge was probally building in you. Electricity is wierd that way.

Theresa: <Love. Let's not forget the other dark side.> Eeek. I know people like that.

Coyote: *62* cars? Geez! I thought it was only about 14! Ohmygawd!
ALMOST as bad as that pile up on I-75 last winter. Remember? over 100 cars involved and THANKFULLY no major injuries.
The Fog: Hell, I looked out my front window as I was making bread and I though another house was on fire. (Ya know... come to think about it... a major house fire happens within two blocks of me at LEAST once a year. And no, I am not in a downtown area, but a suburban area with a population density probally higher than Detroit (AVERAGE of 14-20 people per house.)
Cyrway's "South Park Horrors": <Fire Storm shudders.>

Robby: Yep. Rocky Horror. No DVD that I can find.

'Puter problems: I am pretty sure it is the video card that I just bought. :(

SJ: Bizarre Gargs Crossovers: Hmm... Well, I am pretty sure they would KILL the Teletubbies and Banannas in Pajamas. (I am sorry. Those two looked like walking condoms.)
Darwin Awards: GEEZ! Well, at least it wasn't a fire hose!

Jewel/Wilek: Sleep Patterns: I remember someone vaguely telling me what "Normal" sleeping patterns were...
Lately, I have actually had a pattern! I am SO proud! Wake up (6pm) go to school, do reports/work crap, go to work, go to bed (3pm) wake up (6pm) go to school...

Wilek: <Smashing Pumpkins Into Small Piles Of Putrid Debris> Sounds like a DOOM cheat code. (DKSPISPOPD)

Does anyone here have the soundtrack to something called La Nouba? Extremely kewl stuff.

Warpmind> <<not to be disrespectful, but there are some SEVERE flaws in his theories.>> Don't I know it. (Random mutation will *debilitate* a member of any given species, not *improve* it...)

Jewel> <<Yes, it's far too early to be awake. But my biological clock seems to have set itself at the funkiest of all settings--I conk out at 10 pm and wake up at 5-somethig.>> Ugh, I've done that before. But *my* chronometer currently seems to be set to fall asleep at 6:00 AM and wake up at about 4:00 PM. Acckk. (Does ANYONE here have normal sleep patterns?) <<'romantic love' is a stupid and bad emotion for a myriad of reasons. It makes you stupid and lose touch with reality. I've seen more friends than I want to think about get treated like cr*p from their boyfrines, but they won't dump them because they "love" them...people who wouldn't take sh*t from anyone else take it and willingly from the people they 'love.' Likewise, how many women out there don't leave their physically abusive boyfriends and husbands because they "love" 'them? How many people have killed or been killed in the name of "love"? Any emotion that shorts out both a) common sense and b) the instinct for self-preservation, is not healthy.>> Er...this sounds like a co-dependency problem, not actual love...

Hi Ari! ^_^ Glad you could come here; a lot of people don't have that kind of time after going back to school. <<RL SUCKS!>> Amen, milady! >;) <<I'll e-mail you eventually...sorry I've been so long...>> No problem at all. School is a blight, no?

Christine> <<one of the eeriest things about those three numbers is that half the people you ask will instinctively, yet _wrongly_, think that 17+5=23.>> Although they're not far off (It's 22).

Aaron> <<That's one of the reasons I have to visit the park during G2K. I'm told they have a "Villians Store" in the park, stocking nothing but villians merchandise.>> Eh? Hm...I'll have to find it next year. Thanks for telling me about this! :D

Ironwolf> :O I'm amazed you're still alive after all that!

Stephen 'Coldstone' Sobotka Jr.> <<I dunno, I've been thinking about changing my nickname from "Coldstone" to "Dominic", in light of the "Roswell" series. What do you all think?>> Hm...I like it. :) <<I think one of the weirdest ones I ever had was my first one, Gargs/Gummi Bears.>> Hm...the weirdest crossover idea I ever had was a Timedancer/Titanic/Castlevania crossover which I have since discarded for being utterly moronic.

Mandolin> <<Anyone else recall MASK and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors?>> I do! I have most of the toys as well. (I have all kinds of old weird stuff.) I vividly remember a scene from Wheeled Warriors that would not have been allowed to be made today, namely the birth of one of the Borgish plant vehicle thingies: A large flower sort of swelled grotesquely and extruded a clearish blob with eyes and guts, which formed into whatever vehicle was needed by the bad guys. Try getting THAT by ABC's censors. Interestingly, the enemy forces--the Monster Minds, I think--had a rather spiritual bent in the European version of the show. The Black Light that apparently gave them their powers was some kind of dark god or somesuch. (I think, anyhow; my memory is rather rusty about all this and I could be wrong.) Why this wasn't incorporated into the US version, I don't know.

Coyote> <<There were at least seven deaths (hence the candles), over 30 injured people, and the accident itself involved ... **shudder** ... 62 vehicles, stretching a mile and a half on both sides of the highway. The accident was caused by quickly falling dense fog. It was aggravated by one of the vehicles involved ... a diesel hauler that promptly exploded on impact. One shot of the accident that's been played a lot on the news has been a *huge* burnmark stretching all across the highway, with five semi trailers sticking out of it. You have to take the news folks' word on it that there's 14 cars in the center of that burnmark.>> <shudder> That must me one of the worst accidents in American history...reminds me of the one that was caused by...er, you don't want to know... <<Cyrway's "South Park Horrors" (when Demona gets some good lovin' from Chef>> Er...<shudder> There's an image I don't need running around in my warped and fragile little mind...<<for a long time I considered it, and I still might do it, but I was thisclose to having G:CM cross over with ... ready for this one? ... "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." How, ye ask (Glad ye did! ;)? By having Paul Rollins show up. Only my version of Paul Rollins used the bedknob to transport himself to Avalon, where he chose to learn the ways of magic and is now a master sorceror.>> Um...heh...weird. :}

Nightwalker> <<But if maturity's the case , then do you think that Hunter's moon would be a good choice? I know that's going strait from beg. to end but I don't know if she's paying attention anyway.>> Hm...perhaps Deadly Force? <<What's the longest title you've ever seen for something.>> The one I can think of offhand: 8 words--the computer game Smashing Pumpkins Into Small Piles Of Putrid Debris (I am not making this up). I'm not sure where it can be found. I seem to remember encountering the soundtrack to a Monty Python movie with a really really long name, but I can't be bothered to remember the title. :)

Robby> <<Who DID put the "bomp" in the "bomp she bomp" anyway? And while I'm asking, who put the "ram" in "ram a lama ding dong"?>> Some mad scientist, I imagine, attempting to take over the world by rendering the entire population braindead through bad music. ;) <<I seem to recall one of the main characters being such an obvious rip off of Han Solo...>> Herc Stormsailer? I always kinda thought he was a ripoff of Micheal Garibaldi. <G>

Newcomers> Welcome! :D Soon, you will be liberated from the restricting taint of sanity, and join the ranks of the gleefully demented. There may be slight side effects, but don't worry, we have...contacts...in the judicial branch.

Menessah> <<Oh, yeah, and could anyone tell me when the next current episode will show?>> Um...<blink> No idea.

SJ> Woah...<applauds> Amazing little essay there. ^_^ <<Or how about the impossible/improbable "Gargs meets Star Trek meets Veronica's Closet meets Dick Tracy meets Huckleberry Finn meets Masterpiece Theatre meets B.J. and the Bear"?>> Hey...it can be done...oh, wait, no it can't; 'Time's Arrow' took care of that... Thailand Darwin Winner> I remember reading about that. As I hear it, someone heard the explosion and applauded, thinking it was fireworks.

Spacebabie> <<What drugs are SevariusJr on????? I want some!>> Only the heady drug of insanity, child; and as one of us, you already have it. :)

Sevarius jr.-This is the kind of thing that pisses me off. I remember watching the Exorcist and hearing that the catholic church actually liked this movie. Or at least most catholic organizations. And you arte correct,SJ, I myself am catholic and I do not find this offensive, actually, I've been looking forward to this movie for a while . "It'll scare the hell into you". Most people don't even know what the Stigmata are. Anybody here know, well I do, they were actually the cuts that Jesus Crist had on his hands when he was crucified. They were in this very strange pattern. If anybody wants to see what they look like watch the exorcist. Linda Blairs' character develops stigmata after she's possesed.

Cherry Blossom-Really only two hours away? MMMMmmmmmm.... I have something planned for you. Not really, but at least I won't be the only one wanting a Gathering chicago.

New topic-Okay, here's my first topic , I hope no-one did this already but here goes. What's the longest title you've ever seen for something. CDs, books, anything. And type the # of words then the title, and were we can find it, I'll start off.

89 words CD title mtv online -news Fiona Apple
When the pawn hits the conflicts He thinks like a king what he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight and he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring there's nobody to batter when your mind is your might so when you go solo , you hold your own hand and remember that depth is the greatest of heights and if you know where to stand, then you know where to land and if you fall it won't matter,'cuz you know that your right.

I seriously don't know how they're going to fit all that on a cd case , and what is everybody going to call it . Anyway it comes out nov 9. Okay, do you guys get how to do this?

I know I was about to write more but I'll save it 'til morning.

Goodnight my rookery brothers and sisters.

hi all!
to all<
I was just wondering whatever happened with the Heather and Robby fund thing, I was kinda missing for the finale of that and I didn't see any posts from Lexy for a while, so if anyone knows can you please tell me?

love and romance< in my opinion they are two different things, love is commitment and your feelings about some person. and romance is the things you should have after you're married like midnight dates and glasses of wine together late at night to keep the spark still there. but hey, thats jsut my opinion from what I've witnessed in my life.
******long rant*****hehe******
to all< why is it that when someone is like 12-17 and they say they are in love, most ppl are thinking and sometimes saying oh thats just puppy love? or something like it. I don't get it!! its not fair!! can't younger ppl really fall truly in love?? hmm??? I admit, sometimes it is puppy love, but what if its true love?? I've heard of that too!! Each person should be able to make up there own descisons without ppl critisizing them about it!!. Its just not fair!! it isn't!!I mean if I went to work and met this guy, over time fell in love, but I was still only like 16, I couldn't come home and tell my mom that!! she'd probably say to me, sure hon ok. Lets just give it time. But if I was 20 she'd get all excited and say oooh, is he the one?? I mean come on!!!!
Sorry all, this is just a subject that I think is very very unfair
******end of long rant*************
ok, now hehe

ironwolf< you really put your parents through a lot!! I only hurt myself once and my parents had a fit!

Warpmind< I agree with you on that Evolving has a coupla flaws. one thing I always wondered was, when did each species mysteriously decide to stop evolving?? and how did they decide??

night walker< I don't live in Illinois, but I do live in Southeastern WI! I'm about 2 hrs away from Chicago.

has anyone ever read any boks by Frank Peretti?? Like Piercing the Darkness, or This Present Darkness?? I'm in the middle of the Prophet right now and loving every bit of it.

well, I gotta really get to bed now, bye all!!

My, my, my. I open my mouth and look what happens.
Spike> Children may put gray hairs on your head, but before you know it, they're on their way to college, getting married or moving to the other side of the ocuntry and you're left wondering where did the time go.

80's cartoons> Ah fond memories of the 30 minute commercials. I remember Silverhawks and Wheeled Warriors, but by the time they showed up here, me and my brothers were confirmed Robotech fans. It was one of the few shows that had a storyline, And they didn't do the cliche' ending immortalize by GI Joe of letting the bad guys get away. After the fiftieth time that happened, I started to wondered about that. The cartoons I remember fondly are Transformers, Robotech, Pirates of Dark Water (and by the way Stephen, there 20 seas on Mer, not 7)

That does bring a question to mind. Could someone explain anime to me. I've watched hours of anime; Akira, Neon Genisis, Lodoss War, and anything the Sci Fi channel would put on. I've watched, subbed and dubbed and I still don't get it. The imagery is excellant, but the story always flubs it at the end. I'm left shouting at the screen "What!" I guess that's why I disliked Sailor Moon and Pokemon, that and the tapioca for brains background cast. (How many girls in Japan have six foot long blonde ponytails. And yet no one put the connection together that Serena might have an alter ego)

Love and romance> I'm not offended. In fact, I encourage anyone to shut me down. I'm overall anti-romantic. For me Romantic is not just bodice-rippers, but the way we paint things. Like the way westerns romanticize the Old West. We, both individually and a society, paint things in the ways that bare no resemblence to how things are. Like the Good Ol' Days, (I remember the good ol' days, where we they?) Especially with matters of the heart, romantics still have it that love is some mystical force that comes out of no where. Like Sevarius Jr. mention, love is something you work at. It is something that isn't some mysterious (and I'll risk it) divine force is put to motion. I'm probably the most contradictory dragon in believe in magic in everything from dreams to a sea breeze, but don't believe in magical thinking in romance. Fancy that, a magical creature, not believing
