<whimper> The "small problem" came back, and is once again managing to only read what he wants to read...as in, he decided my saying, "You can't use my characters" really means "you can use my characters when you want to, provided you send me drafts." He hasn't yet, but he's planning it. It's looks like I'm going to have to be a little...stronger in my statements to him. As in, "Use *any* of my characters, you maggot-ridden, dung-filled, ebola-carrying bratling snotrag, and I will personally rip out your spleen and feed it to my pet python."
Pope: No offense to any Catholics here, but...
I kinda had issues with him interfering in Italy's politics as well. He's supposed to be a religious figure, not a political one. Cleaning his own house (remember the rash of child-abusing priests a few years back? And how about the fact that there is a significant number of members of the Catholic clergy who have AIDS...gee, wonder how *that* happened...) should be more important than getting involved in Italian politics. Or any politics. I was PO'd when he said the US was wrong for executing that female serial killer Faye Tucker. Whatever. You run your Church, and leave politics and policy to the people elected to theirs...after all, do *our* elected officials tell the Pope how to do a Mass, or try to dictate Chruch policy?
SJ: What, are you saying the Republicans wouldn't have snapped all over the shooting if it could have helped their cause? Politics is politics, and they all are the same. Personally, I *liked* Clinton as a president, and wish to God he was running again, because he's a heckuva lot better than any of the chowderhead morons we've got running now.
<g> Here's a great article from Salon about a certain...Southern paradox. Kinda explains Clinton's "It wasn't really sex" claim about Lewinski... Click on my name.

Everybody! Be sure to vote in the Cartoon Network contest for Pesident! My vote goes to I.M. Weasal, he's by far the most qualified, being ridiculously "perfect" in every field imaginable.... (After him I have to give it Bugs Bunny...)

(And tell me who you vote for as well, I'm curious. I shudder to think of Didi or Brak becoming president...)

<<The Pope: Lately, I've been having some serious feelings about organized religion. You see, I think religion is a beautiful thing. Organized religion, however, has, as of late, begun to greatly disturbed me. Because it's all politics; there is little of what you could call faith in organized religion. I don't mean to be blasphemous to another's religion, but because of those feelings the Pope is sort of disturbing me. Cause I'm viewing him less as this emissary of God and more as just the head of this great big political entity that just happens to be religiously motivated. It just bothers me. Everybody says that we should keep our church separate from our state. How about we keep the goddamn state separate from the church? This is what turns people off religion in general. Instead of following the actual message of God (or whomever), we have dickheads like Pat Robertson going around involving themselves with politics. It's bothering me--the whole politics of organized religion is, in my opinion, destroying that which is holy.>>
I hardly know of any organized religion that isn't got it's hand in politics. That's just been the way of things for years. The problem today is that people that once were fringe extremists now have multi-media empires that allow them to spread their venom everywhere. People like Randall Terry, who founded Operation Rescue but got kicked out when he applauded the murder of doctors performing abortions. He still has a radio talk show and a new organization devoted to opposing equal rights to homosexuals.
Due to the power they weild, it's not suprising to find massive corruption within the ranks. Just recently Randall terry recived a letter of condmenation (the modern equivalent of the Scarlet Letter) from his church for an apparent affair he had. He's up in arms denying the incident. Pat Robertson is known for courting the help of facist dictators in Africa in his diamond mining operations. He even went on his show asking for money to buy a two airplanes that were supposed to be used for his humanitarian efforts, but in fact have been used more for his diamond mining. Just recently on Robertson's 700 Club, a Chinsese goverment representativecame on the show to defend their recent crackdown of the Qin Sho (whatever it's name was) religious movement. This had a lot to do with the fact that Robertson just recently acquired a lucrative TV licensing deal in mainland China. I couldn't help but notice he used o be all fire and brimstone about China, but has recently been much nicer about them. All too typical example of him selling out.
Honsetly, I find it poeticly ironic that all these Protestants, a whole brance of Christianity formed because of the corruption of the Catholic church, are now just as corrupt as the Catholic Church of olden times...

[Miriam and the inhuman form of Marilyn Manson are about to fight it out, when the former recieves a call on her commlock: "It's Rho. A vehicle full of people identifying themselves as the 'A-Team' just destroyed an unidentified machine up here." Manson takes advantage of the distraction to hurl a stream of dark energy at Miriam, who runs around a corner for cover. Miriam: "Agent Rho, can this wait? I've encountered resistance." Rho: "What I'm saying is, either the machine up here or the one down where you are is a decoy, or possibly a backup. The only way to be sure is to destroy both devices." Miriam runs down the corner as she hears the evil entity give chase. Miriam: "Of course. I'm on my way."]

**RESUME RP!**
[After several minutes running down the dank corridors and dodging the attacks of the demented fallen angel that Manson has become, Miriam arrives at a conglomeration of crystal antennae and warp coils that can't possibly have been part of the Avatar's original blueprints, attached to one of this sector's primary coupling nodes. Miriam stands back and readies her rocket launcher, then is knocked over from behind by one of Manson's fireballs. She leaps to her feet and casts psionic cryokinesis, hitting Manson in the shoulder and harming him significantly. She steps in with her lightsaber to deliver the final blow, but Manson extends a wicked-looking set of claws and flies toward her. She ducks and he overshoots her and blunders into the opposite wall, right next to the machine. Seeing an opportunity, Miriam readies her rocket launcher, launches a Black Shark missile, and hangs on to a nearby conduit. The warhead hits right between Manson and the device, spawning a black hole which rips the device out of the wall with a horrible *scccrrrkkkk*, sucks in a screaming Manson, wrecks the local power grid, and attempts to pull Miriam into it...she manages to hold on long enough to avoid being sucked into oblivion, as the black hole dies out about ten seconds after it forms. Rho contacts her: "Report. We just had a brief power outage in Sector 7 and we've traced it to your area; what's going on down there?" Miriam: "The machine, and the resistance I mentioned, have both been neutralized. I'm returning to the hangar bay."]

A few things tonight....
Saw the Beach tonight. I don't feel like writing a full review for it, but it was a pretty good film. Not quite what I was expecting; I was expecting a little more "Lord of the Flies" than what I saw on the screen, and I kind of would have liked it to be a little more dark, but still I enjoyed it, Leo factor and all. Hmm....3 outta 4 stars. Check it out before it gets totally dropped from theatres.
The Pope: Lately, I've been having some serious feelings about organized religion. You see, I think religion is a beautiful thing. Organized religion, however, has, as of late, begun to greatly disturbed me. Because it's all politics; there is little of what you could call faith in organized religion. 6 year old shooting: Of course this is a tragedy. Nothing like this should ever happen. But I got pissed off the other day, and I'm still mad about it. The day that it happened, our illustrious leader Bill Clitton....excuse me, CliNton....said something about how the kid got the stolen gun and how we should remember that come election time this fall.....
Christ that pisses me off. Excuse my language, Mr. President, but you F@#$& moron. That's nice; turn this tragedy into a way to shill for the democratic party and the anti-gun platform. A little girl's in the morgue and you want to talk partisan politics. Go molest another intern, you ass.

Wilek: <mpressive. I wonder how long it'll be before we can control machines with a thought...>
1995. On the Discovery Channel show "Beyond 2000" showed a device that attatched to the temple of a quadraplegic and by just thinking he could move the mouse pointer on the screen.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the future is here. :)
<<blink> I did not know that. Heh...>
Yeah. I remember Lady Mystic saying the the Beast was Robbie Benson, and I remember watching the "Making of KQ6" videos on the CD, so I remembered them saying that Prince Alexander was Robby Benson. (I had no idea at the time WHY they were stressing that. I had no idea who he was.)
Anne: Sounds like you have the Garg kitties!
<I think I really enjoyed Equality (season one) a lot>
DEFINATELY one of my favorites. I have written several fan-fiction stories based on this episode alone. (The usual dark stuff that I write. No real happy endings, that sort of thing.)
But here are my faves:
TGS: Equality
Timedancer: Requiem
Pendragon: The Ill Made Knight trilogy
Dark Ages: Hmm... I would have to say Prince of Thieves or Coming of Age
Christine: I was just looking over the titles of the TGS stories...
Why am I not surprised that you would write a story called "The Seduction"? :)
<I sent the first 3 chaps of Black Roses to the audio book company; heard back from them today and they want to see the entire manuscript! Hurrah!>
Way to go!
Reverend Attila: <Well, let's see, but I have never been too big a believer.>
Don't get me wrong... most of the time criminal rehab is a crock, especially in cases of murder. But given the childs age there may still be hope that he can be a productive member of society.
<I just hate how some politicians are using this event to attack certain freedoms.>
Agreed. Like our guns. Guns don't kill people. The lack of teaching people the differences between right and wrong does.
Gside: <"Let's see if I can't get every computer to play the entire dead parrot sketch every time someone presses ctrl...">
Yeah... But I didn't feel like it. I was just pissed that I could access my account info such as Address, Social Security number, Drivers license info...
(Needless to say I changed all of that info the second I realized I could hack the system that easily. I mean, I am by no means a hacker!)
By the dead parrot scetch, I assume you are talking about the famous scene from Monty Python, correct?
<but are they free>
Remember: Free is an odd term. Even if it is retail it may be downloadable, making it free.

< Shadowrider appears in a celestial light [special effects are really cheap nowadays, isn't it?]>
Greetings to everyone. I welcome the newcomers, I'm sure you'll enjoy here.
Gside:> The Pope: I think that eventual riots in Italy are supposed to be Italian Goverment's matter. Then, as far as I'm concerned, asking a foreign government to discriminate people according to religion or sexual preference is not "istituting an ethical system".
Cyclops & Kanenas: Mmm...You convinced me! Kanenas is quite a good name for Nathaniel Essex. Now, who of us is going to write to Marvel Comics to suggest it? ;)
My water shall mingle with your water: I've read Stranger in a Strange Land a few years ago and I found it interesting. Anyway, I was actually quoting from my preferred book of all times: Frank Herbert's "Dune". :)
Wilek:> Thank you for including me in your "project". I'm sure you'll not repent of it. Soon the world will know who really rules! ;)
Anne:> I'm glad someone feels the same of me about human/gargoyle relationships. I'm quite sure of what I said...as I saw the first time Angela on TV, I actually fell in love with her...but now I left it behind...'cause I've fallen in love with Sata! (I hope a certain red gargoyle not to know it, or I'm going to face some troubles...) ;)
TGS:> My favorite episodes? It's difficult to me,there's a lot of them I think are really great...well, in the main series I'd say "Equality" and...mmm...maybe "Strange bedfellows". In Timedancer I liked "Daylight" and "Crossroads" (really shocking!) and "Fleeting encounters" too (Funny, with a lot of quotings).
For Dark Ages...well, I've just began to read it, so I can't say yet. I will tell you as I decide. :)
Reverend Attila:> Tell GB I didn't mean to hurt his feelings. I was a little upset on my own as I wrote my posting about the Pope, so I think I was too rude.
Anyway, I meant the substance of my comment (the Pope's interference in Italy's politics); I have nothing personal against this Pope, I just can't accept him trying to impose his viewpoint over my fatherland.
For Cromwell...well, I agree that Irishmen have some reasons to hate him, I understand it, but I think that historical events have to be judged with reason, not with feelings. Some of Cromwell's acts may seem cruel nowadays, but maybe at Cromwell's time they were the only choice availabile. Anyway, I apologize again for the way I expressed myself.
Niamhgold:> I must confess that I also made a think about mutations...but I'd not like to be a winged feline...I'd like a healing factor, super-human wits, enhanced strenght and agility and...oh, yes, adamantium bones and three retractable adamantium claws on each hand. ("I'm the best at what I do,bub!" SNIKT!) ;)
Don't worry, the poll is not finished: I'll keep myself ready to resume it anytime someone will express his preference. :)
Timedancer:> Finally!! A release date for the third season !!! And it is CLOSE!!!! WHOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Wilek & Anne:> X-Files censorship:> I can assure you I'm not joking. Things are EXACTLY as I told. Consider that no other of X-Files "difficult" topics (incestuous relationships, demonic possessions, high-rate violence) has been censored or even mildened by Mediaset's censors. Obviously, the single thing they were disturbed by was Mulder's collections of adult videos and reviews. Obviously, in Italy a TV series' hero is allowed to kill as he likes (I'm not speaking of Mulder, naturally) but not to watch a H-C movie. You're right, it makes no sense. (By the way, I discovered it accidentally, as an English friend of mine borrowed me some tapes with a few episodes, which I already seen in Italian, recorded in the original version)
Sorow:> I'm afarid to hear about your troubles. I hope everything will be better soon.
In bocca al lupo, amico mio!

Anne: Fave TGS episodes? Gee... tough one; I read'em all in so little time... and there are so many great eps... I really can't say.
Gside: Nothing strange about ladies enjoying Knights of Xentar. It's a great game, and most of the H-rated scenes are quite tasteful Of course, the Snow White scene might be a bit... much... but the game on the whole is really a masterpiece. As for Chronotrigger; well, I was playing on an emulator. And I only used one single savestate all along. (And I use Snes9X, so I don't think that savestate format of yours will do me any good.) Wilek> MIDI: Thanks for the names, but are they free and/or under a couple hundred megs?
<<I take it you don't much like [Knights of Xentar]>>: No, I plan to start playing it pretty soon. Just remember that it is Hentai-rated, and think about gender here. I think things start getting really really weird when someone without a Y chromosome says anything good about something that closely related to porn.
Warpmind> <<I've seen all the scenes [in KoX]>>: There is either a joke or somthing dipariging to be said about you in there, or both, but I'm not sure what it is (and it could probably be thrown back at me very easily).
savegames: Now, that was a silly thing to do. If you were doing this from a cartrige and just left it on, I pity you. If you were emulating, couldn't you open a save state before lavos and go to a save point? If you want, I could give you a *.zst with ~level 56 characters first time through (I think).

For those of you who are clamoring for new seasons:
Timedancer will be starting in two to three weeks: either March 16th or March 23rd. We're ironing out some final details right now.
Pendragon and Gargoyles are still being worked on and have no set premiere date as of now.
Oh, just as a note: I generally don't have much time to post regularly in the CR these days, so if you see one of my posts (in peach color and with Cavall as the pic), I'm usually making comments in response to questions about TGS matters (when eps are airing, technical problems, etc.).

Ooh, boy. You know that internet hacker that goes by "coolio," the one who screwed up a bunch of sites on Yahoo and stuff, and the one who was just caught? Well, turns out he lives not too far from me. Could've easily been someone I knew! Actually, in a way, it's kinda cool :)
6 year old shootings: Eek. I'm just glad I have no kids right now. I don't know how I'd feel about it if I did, and they were put in school with another kid who has access to guns...
Anne: Dangit, and I missed all this? Sounds like it was pretty exciting! (looks over her shoulder and sees the mutant mistletoe hovering nearby; laughs nervously) Urh, hello...nice ta meet ya!
I have one cat, named Sugie (shu-GEE), and even though it's a female it has Broadway tendencies.
Oh, yeah, my favorite TGS episode: Well, for "Gargoyles", it would have to be "Strange Bedfellows." The classic team-up of hero and ex-villian still interests me, despite the fact that it's been done in the Goliath/Xanatos thread before |:} And, for DA, I pretty much like all the eps. Mostly it's because I know that one day, most of those characters will be dead, and it kind of gives me a respect for their life stories.
Gside: FFI-VII? Cool!
Shadowrider: Mutates were my second choice, after Battlesuits. Mutates don't turn to stone, and they can do that cool zapping thing. I can't explain it, but for some reason, the idea of becoming a cyborg just isn't appealing to me. Keep up the poll!
Anonymous: Er...um, yes, I write fanfic. Not too proud of it, but I'll take responsibility for its wrath ;)

RP WARNING!!
**Avatar of Gannon
Agent Rho and Wilek are aiming at the van, when the door opens and Mr. T steps out.
"Don't shoot, fools. Attila sent us, well me in particular. We're the A-Team."
The secuirty drop their weapons half-dissapointed they can't kill anything.
Mr. T starts walking and looking for the machine. He sses Sharpton's bullet-ridden corpse and mutters, "about time that fool got it." The Hollywood Ten all defend the machine, but Mr. T just says "boo" and they all run away. He goes up to the machines and starts pounding on it. He then picks it up and throws it against a wall destroying it. Now, no more bleeding-heart Liberals can come in.
Next, Hannibal Smith steps out with trademark cigar in mouth and talks to Attila.
"Thanks for the muscle, Hannibal. You'll get the money from one of my associates in the LA Underground, and Bush and McCain have agreed to pardon you if they're elected."

"Yes, Lord Cromwell. We have brought forth the papist mayor for the sacrifice."

Hey, I forgot to ask! What was all of your favorite episodes of TGS and why??? I mean, for each spin-off? I think I really enjoyed Equality (season one) a lot, because we got to meet a lot of future main characters and a lot of great character development went in there. For DA, I liked the "Nowhere to Run & Nowhere to Hide" parters, because of the great action and it starred some of my favorite characters. I can't qualify for Pendragon or Timedancer though, I haven't read all the episodes yet. YET!! :)

*Walks in with chibi-Claw and kittens*
Hi all! :)
Well, the kittens are still the same as the Gargoyles...Max still poses as leader like Goliath...Pumpkin always fights Max like Demona...Dizzy still has that gritty, Brooklyn-like attitude...Tanner still gorges on food, bumbles brainlessly, and loves to cuddle like Broadway...Georgie, the littlest of them (though he's a teensy bit bigger then his sisters) specializes in opening doors and being the basic mechanic of the cat family like Lexington...Patch has developed brains amazingly like Delilah...and Squeakers, she has that all optimistic Angela-like quality. Oops, rambling, ah well...
Hey, just how tired was I when I posted on Wednesday?!?! My apologies Doug, I gave ya two happy birthdays (unless you like getting two happy birthdays, those are fun! :).
Jaden> Thanks for the info, Dad's taking me to the library where I'll get more of the series. This sounds lotsa cool. :)
Green Baron> <<If you get into politcis at thirteen, you got me beat. I was 15 when I started the obsession :) >>. Hehe... But when it comes to voting...maybe I'll go back to the my sister and her friends' shows THAN... *g*
***MAJOR Mummy spoilers***
Wilek> Yes, me too! We've seen too many Frankenstein-like beings (not Mary Shelley's villain, just Hollywood in particular) decapitating beings for trying to find out what makes things tick (sounds a little like Adam on Buffy, yes?). Although, as interesting and funny as those films were, the Mummy seemed to mix a well-leveled amount of emotions in the scenes, not just blood and gore galore. I mean, of course some things don't make sense [like at the end, when the main lady (oh, I hate it when you forget their names!) is deciphering the message on the esophogus and happened to get it in less then five minutes even though that particular vocabularly is a different kind of Hebrew, or something like that, and this particular spell happened to save the day]. Anyway, I think the main thing that got me was at the end...when the Mummy dude helplessly witnesses his true love get killed by his own servants, before his very eyes--the look on his face is so terrible, I felt for the guy despite the evil he'd done. How many villains have we seen that had that look when they saw someone that mattered to them become lost? That look alone, I feel, had a partial add-in that made the movie awesome (sorry for this long rambling, I'm sure you've heard all this before). *Ponders something* If the sequel is just geared up for violence and mega swearing, I will be sooooo disappointed (cus I'm also looking for character development and a villain that is not only harboring revenge for them killing him, but also seathing because the hero and heroine "destroyed" all that he has cherished). Anyway, enough of my ranting! :)
***END SPOILERS!!!***
Wileky again> <<Darkart.de>> Hehe...I just knew you'd be interested in that. :) As for taking commissions, I have no idea. I was kinda wondering about that too...
Revel> Welcome to the CR!
Shadowrider> <<X-Files>> Woah! You're serious?!?! I agree also about the human/gargoyles relationship.
SOROW> I hope your x-rays turn out alright! *hugs*
Niamhgold> Welcome to the CR. :) <<If I may ask...what is the mistletoe?>> ...Er...um... *blushes as chibi-Claw shoots an evil smirk across the room at where the portal had been to the other universe during Christmas* Well, it's a long story. *Makes a "storytime" gesture to chibis, where they all gather in a crowd and sit down like kindergarteners*. Well, Niamhgold, a bunch of people can tell you what happened, but this is basically the whole story...kay, started out with someone hanging out the mistletoe for Christmas (I believe it was Jewel or Jannie...can't remember real well). Everyone was getting kissy-kissy underneath like it's a haven for huggling, until someone zaps the plant with some mutagen that started mutating it into this evil devil-like thing. Meanwhile, at Wilek's lab, he's also incubating a mutated mistletoe, who happens to be Nikolai perched on Wilek's shoulder over there(Nikolai is very sweet, BTW). The evil twin mistletoe sprouted wings, went berserko and produced babies from Coyote's mistletoe (yes, he had some mistletoe perched on his head). Bronx came along and chased the mistletoes into the corner of the room, where they produced even MORE in a frenzy...people were killing the evil offspring...the main troublemaker stayed put in the corner until Mara and Coyote showed up with chainsaws and bazookas galore. This is when we were just finding out about chibis, thanks to Mara. Lots of us were adopting them during that time, in fact. Anyway, the evil mistletoes all got killed off except for the main troublemaker, and he somehow got into the altered universe through some sort of coding. Mara and Coyote managed to get in there using Xellos' help, who's a chibi-friend of Mara's, in case you're wondering. I decided to tag along, and tagging along behind me came chibi-Claw. The rest is simply censored cus it got really nasty on the other side, so bad that chibi-Claw was covered toe to eartips with mutant mistletoe sludge. Wilek found out about the evil mistletoe's intent and used the evil mistletoe's death as apart of the training that made sure Nikolai would never become like that. Now he's just the sweetest wittle thing! *pats Nikolai on the head before seeing that all the chibis are asleep and all newcomers are wide-eyed like, "Uh, sorry, you lost us right before the first time you said 'Christmas'".* Um...I guess you'd have to be there to understand... *shrugs as chibi-Claw rolls his eyes*
*Watches as chibi-Claw eyes dosing chibis* Claw, you better not do tha-- *Too late as Claw zaps all the chibis in a heartbeat* *smacks forehead as Claw faces a bunch of angry chibis before he dashes for the front door, only to meet up with Benjamin, who easily electrocutes him back with a strong current* Ahhhhh, just like his Daddy! *L*
Well, bye all! :) *Walks out with crispy, er, chibi Claw*

Swiftly, Warpmind shoots a couple of tranqs at the nearest cops. As they fall, snoring, they are not replaced.
"Perfect! Now, if I can just tranq the humans, we only have to worry about the daemonic entities."
Then, there is a virtual fountain of blood, and the sleeping cops explode.
"Damn! I hate those kamikaze devices!"
The two fallen cops are replaced by a pair of dangerous-looking mercs.
"Oh, bugger..."

[Miriam arrives at the armory, to find Agent Rho awaiting her. Rho: "The Administrator's people just found out what's been generating the new arrivals in the hangar bay." He calls up a map of the station, with a flashing red dot in a fairly obscure portion of the station. Rho: "According to information we acquired from one of the enemy soldiers, the device is here. We know little else about it, so I wanted you to come prepared." Miriam: "A sound course of action." With that, Miriam begins selecting several heavy weapons, including a wrist-mounted psi amp and a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher armed with Black Shark rockets, and dons a personal force field generator while observing, "I'm surprised the Administrator has not already attempted to assimilate the device." Rho: "It's too dangerous even for her to bother with; if it isn't destroyed, it could easily start this all over again." Miriam finishes her preparations and tells Rho she's ready to begin the mission. Rho responds, "Then good luck, Agent, and good hunting." He enters a control sequence on a nearby panel, and Miriam is beamed as near to the device as possible (which is just far enough away to ensure that things won't be *too* easy)...]

Kit> That was sooooooo sweet what you said to Joe! We could really use some prayers down here at our high school. You're a great friend!

This is just a short message for the TGS crew. You may have wondered why I haven't been sending anything for about two weeks or so. It's that for some reason my current server 'forgot' my username and/or password, so I've been effectively locked out of the Internet for that time. This is the first time I've been able to get onto the Internet, otherwise I would have mentioned this sooner. I'm going to try something new over the weekend, and hopefully I'll be able to get back online. Wish me luck. (And sorry about this, but it hit me suddenly, and I've been trying my best to get this problem solved.)

Hi, I'm here again <a chorus of sad moans from the background>
Poll:>Well, in the last two days none send votes, so I suppose I have to consider it concluded. Here is the final results (N.B. If anyone still wants to vote, feel free to post-I'll be ready to resume the poll)
14 Gargoyles
10 Battlesuits
5 Mutates
3 Cyborgs
Seems we have a lot of Gargoyles-candidates here. Battlesuits-lovers held well their ground, while I have to admit I expected more by Cyborgs and, most of all, by Mutates (As the poll began, I was ready to bet on Mutates' victory...). Well, this will remind me that reality is unpredictable...
Gside: <<...vested interest...>> Well, maybe I'm dumb, but I can't understand why the Pope is supposed to have a "vested" interest in Italian politics. Is that because of, centuries ago, Vatican ruled (often in a very bad way) a large part of central Italy? Or is that because Vatican territory is enclosed in Italian territory (then S. Marine's Republic is supposed to send "suggestions" on his own, but id doesn't...). Italian constitution says that Catholicism is Italy's official religion, enstablishes that Catholic churches are not Italian territory (Police and Carabinieri have to ask priest's permission to enter a church, even for an emergency), that Vatican City is inviolable by anyone and promises that, if necessary, Italian army (only after official Vatican request) will protect Vatican City as it is part of Italian ground. The Pope has a total independence from Italian laws in Vatican City, and Italian citizens are allowed to send a part of their taxes to Vatican instead of Italian revenue, by simply putting a sign in a special space on the annual income-tax return. No other religion in Italy has these rights, and none, even the most nostalgic former-Communists, has ever proposed to remove them, so what else does the Pope want? (maybe I've been a little rough, but this is a topic I'm very sensitive about. Anyway, I apologize for any offence I may have done to anyone.)
Mr. Sinister> Well, "Nakenas" vs. "Cyclops" (I admit I missed the quoting-It's been a long time since I read the "Odissey")...the name is not bad, really, but I wonder...why Nathaniel Essex would choose to pick up a Greek name? Then, Odisseus' nemesis was not Poliphemus, but rather Neptune, or Juno. Anyway, "Nakenas" is not a bad name ,better than Mr. Sinister, for sure.
Wilek:> After a long and careful reflection, I decided to make you an offer: I want to join you in your attempt to rule this little world. If you'll deign to accept, I'll put at your disposal all of my skills, my knowledges, my resources, executing without discussion every task you'll decide to assign me. "My water shall mingle with your water". In return for my (well, almost) unshakable loyalty, I merely ask a little thing...complete control over Mediterranean Europe (including Spain, France, Italy, former Jugoslavia, Albania and Greece) to rule it as your viceroy. Waiting for an answer, I heil the future World Emperor.;)
Beast or Prince: I have no doubt: I choose the Beast (I never liked princes, even in fables I found them boring)
Kitainia:> Hi! I'm really glad to hear you. Discussing with you is very pleasant to me, little matter the topic, so I'll always be happy to do it. :) Well, about TGS...I finished reading the first two seasons of Gargoyles and Timedancer and I've begun Dark Ages...I'm eagerly waiting for new episodes to be published, 'cause I find TGS (especially Timedancer) very intriguing. Expect comments by me about each new episode, as soon as it will be published (you're warned!! ;) ). X-Files: well, the new episodes (new for Italian fans...we are not very numerous, but we will be faithful until the end or so...) will be broadcasted by next Sunday on...about it there's a thing that will make you laugh (I hope). Well, as you know, especially in the very first episodes of the series, there were a lot of innuendos (sometimes very clear) about Mulder's interest in pornography (both on reviews and videos). Now, in Italy X- Files is broadcasted by Mediaset (the most important private TV network in Italy). Mediaset never showed any worry in showing, even in children-watching hours, movies or series with explicit sexual content or high violence rate (Mediaset broadcasts in clear-it is not a restricted-access channel). Well, for X-Files, that was broadcasted from the very beginning at 22.30 (as childs are supposed to be sleeping) and is clearly made for an adult public, Mediaset was suddenly pervaded by a wave of Puritanism! It is the only way to explain why every single referring to Mulder's "passion" was accurately and completely removed, by twisting speaking in dubbing (so "Playboy" become "Donald Duck's Almanac"- and I'm not joking :( ), by cutting away frames and, luckily only once, by completely removing a whole scene (they forgot to re-write dialogues to remove referring to the missing scene-that episode seemed a little confused...). Funny, isn't it? Maybe not much, but...:-\ .
See you later, Kitainia.
Matthew:> Welcome! Well, your question has been already posted by many persons (myself included), but I think it is not bad keeping on trying...maybe one day we will be answered! ;)
Garg/human relationships:> Well, maybe this topic is a little old, but I wat to express my view anyway (if you are bored of it, feel free not to read). I don't see any difficults for a relationship between a human and a gargoyle. Well, maybe some social difficults (as for interracial human relationships), but not on the emotional side. There's no physical appearance, no matter how different from mine, that I can't accept, appreciate and even find beautiful-all I'd need is a bit of time (not much) to get used. Now, I don't think I'm such a rare person-there's a lot of people like me, in this Room, down in the streets, everywhere. We are not the biggest part of the human population-maybe we are the smallest-but there0s a lot of us anyway. I think phisical appearance is not really important. Cultural and psichic differences, instead, may cause more difficults, but I think it is not the case of the Gargoyles.
Ragga, se vedemu!

Lots and lots more pics; Demona May continues her illustrations of the "Damien" stories, plus takes a look at the upcoming hatchings; Crzy has a new Jericho and Demona pic that is just _gorgeous_.
Updated some stuff.
Added my entries from the G.I.R. Fanfic Contest (are the results posted anywhere yet?)

**RP HERE- EXCUSE THE LENGTH**
In the Avatar of Ganon's hangar, Shap listens as Al Sharpton criticizes his appearance and then rolls his eyes. "Listen, pal," he says, "I take worse verbal abuse than that from my girlfriend every day. Coming from you, similar stuff don't bother me a bit!" Shauna (who is still fighting off Micheal Jackson's dancers with her bow while the Onslaught battles the King of Pop in giant robot form) smiles at the remark. She then lets Mist and Elena take over killing the dancers for her and runs over to stand beside Shap. Sharpton immediately starts criticizing her appearance as well, and Shauna replies with nagging on his appearance, general attitude, and the stupidity he displays in making some of the remarks he does. Shap stands by and guards them both from attacking dancers while listening to the heated debate. Rapidly it turns to questions of racism (which Shauna accuses Sharpton of displaying in large amounts) and then Sharpton brings things to a head by accusing Shauna of not "being a good Christian or a good black girl." "That is enough!" Shap yells when he hears the remark. "Hey man, is yelling at people about what you perceive as their flaws all you can do?" Sharpton frowns at the comment, and then launches into another tirade about how Shap isn't a good Christian black just because Shap interrupted him, insulted him, and is fraternizing with people of other races. By the high point of the speech (which Shap and Shauna try their best to interrupt but fail to), everyone near Sharpton has become extremely pissed off. This includes Doug and Kitainia, who start firing their guns at Sharpton just to shut him up. Shap and Shauna sigh and do the same as the jerk continues speaking and when they're done, the Fundamentalist Extreme Racist Reverend has been hit by 19 of 42 shots that were justified this time even though he was unarmed (cyber-cookie to whoever gets the reference). This is enough to take him out, and cause the Ravens to breathe sighs of relief before turning their fury on a bunch of brutal and equally racist New York and Los Angeles white police officers who have gated in to replace Sharpton for some reason and immediately attack everyone in sight, yelling "Gun! Gun!" (you get the above reference, you'll get this one) The battle with the rest of the Hollywood Ten meanwhile continues, Micheal Jackson destroyed by a combination of the Onslaught's weaponry and Warpmind's rust grenades. He is replaced by the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, who looks for a target and picks out Jaden (your fight, friend).
Elsewhere in the hangar, Tom Hanks continues advancing towards SJ and Kari, the Scouts keep dueling with Geffen and Hayden, and most of the Black Ravens and Avatar crew members are battling various other heavily armed and very powerful Hollywood nincompoops. Only Tom Cruise is prevented from fighting, tied up in a net. He is approached by two strange-looking Avatar crew members- an eight foot tall humanoid with a squid-like head dressed in purple robes covered with Borg nanites, and an old white-haired man in a black suit who should look familiar to anyone who watches A&E. Tom Cruise frowns at them, then screams as his mind is ravaged by a searching spell from the illithid. "I have the information," the mind flayer says after the spell is complete and Cruise has screamed continously for five minutes. "The machine will be found and destroyed. This one is all yours." As it turns and walks off to report to Agent Rho, his companion walks up to Cruise and places a small black box beside him. "What is that?" Cruise asks him. "What are you doing?" "I'm exacting my revenge on you," Jim Phelps replies. "A while back, you ruined the reputation of a franchise I made famous with a terrible movie that portrayed me as a villain and a traitor to America. I've resented that for a long time." Cruise gasps as he realizes who's confronting him. "You must be very upset." Jim only smiles. "You're not going to see me very upset." He grins and then walks off. Cruise screams and struggles against the net, but not before the box opens to display a large plastic finger pointing at him and tape saying, "This stupid actor will be destroyed in five seconds. Good luck, Jim!" Lightning then lances from the finger and fries Tom to death. The Hollywood personality who replaces him, Nicole Kidman, sees the body and begins wailing with loss as the screen goes blank.
**PAUSE OR POSSIBLY END RP**
Hi everyone. Hope no one is bothered by the lengthy RP above, I had to get it all out now because Doug's parents and sister are on their way here right now for their obligatory birthday visit. We don't know when they're showing up, and if I'm on the computer when they arrive instead of smiling and saying hi to them...it won't look good. :) So, on that note, since I'm pressed for time, I'll get on to replies now. No movies to comment about this weekend, since there aren't any good ones playing. Next week if may be a different story (Doug and I are at least gonna see Mission to Mars).
Warpmind: So far I agree with you about Knights of Xentar, although I still haven't seen most of it (been unable to play much due to school). I am enjoying it even with the hentai scenes, and hope to continue to do so. Thanks for the hint offer, if I get stuck you'll be the first place I check for help (next will be gamefaqs.com).
Stormy: You got 3rd place? Congrats. If it were up to me, you'd have gotten first, but hey, 3rd's good too. <:) That reminds me, I gotta check out the Reunion page to see who else won, congrats in advance to any who did.
re- Hitman: I haven't read that comic, but if it's like Punisher and you enjoy it (some other friends of mine have as well), maybe I should. :) BTW, sorry you can't afford Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe. If you get the chance, I guess you can always read it in the store instead (just ignore the a-hole clerk who claims the place ain't a library). It's definitely worth it. (The plot, if anyone's curious, concerns how the Punisher's life would be different if super-powered people killed his family instead of crooks. Predictable but enjoyable results. :)
Niamhgold: Welcome! Good to see you in here, and glad you're doing what you can to enjoy this place. :) BTW, are you the Niamhgold who writes fanfic? If so, I guess I better give you the long-delayed feedback I've been meaning to. (Don't have time to say much at this moment, but if you are that Niamhgold I'll finish later. For now, suffice to say that I have enjoyed your work.)
Shadowrider: Just for the record, you don't bore me. :) Say whatever you like, I'm glad we enjoy discussing some of the same topics (martial arts, TGS, Gargs, and so on). To answer a question of yours from earlier this week that I forgot about, I do like X-Files. Have since Ep 1, though I do agree with you it's not as good these days as it used to be. :(
Mr. Thrugg: Thanks for clarifying what you were saying in your comments concerning Gargs and BNW. I guess I responded to them without thinking about what you meant to say, only about my perception. Common flawed action on my part, I'm sorry for doing it again. :( Good hypothesis about the clan's societal evolution btw, I would like to respond to it but I'm not sure how to right now (it's also a several day-old topic and would probably get lost quickly given the pace of things in here. :( ). I will say, though, that in regards to whether it was nature, the influence of culture, or the result of stressful situations that helped open the clan to more of a democratic than a tribal relationship, I think it was probably a combination of all three to some degree. Sorry I don't have time to go into why (if you think about it, you can probably figure it out on your own :).
SOROW: Thanks. Glad I was able to help you along. :) You are also a good friend to me, for the record. <hugs back> I will be praying for you, both because of your recent injury and the captain competition. Good luck in the latter, and I hope you are in less pain (and have better days) real soon.
Christine: I'm excited about the manuscript too. Sorry to hear agents are continuing to reject it. <sighs> BTW, I checked out the new Sabledrake magazine and read your story and Warmpind's. Both were pretty good, though Warp's IMO needed a little work on charecterization and overall plot development and flow (guess I should say that to him, oh well, I'm sure he'll read it here :). Yours was at the usual level of quality, there's nothing I can really say about improving it. :) You and everyone else who contributed keep up the good work, I'll try to read and comment on the rest of the stories in the magazine when I have time.
SJ: <mutters> I hate Leo and Matt Damon too. Why people are looking to them over stars who deserve way more attention is beyond me. <sighs> Oh well, like someone said, we have to turn the new generation of stars in media sometime. However, if the new generation of stars is exemplified by guys like those two and girls like Julia Styles and Denise Richards (i.e. people who just look good and can't act worth a damn), I don't have high hopes for the films of the future. :( I agree with you about Disney, too. I didn't like Clerks that much (thought it had too much sex jokes and negative character interaction, like most of Kevin Smith's work), but no show deserves the kind of screwing over Disney gave it. No director, either, and especially not Kevin (some of his stuff has been great, despite the above-mentioned fault). <sighs> I hope Kevin finds grounds for suing the mouse, and wins <doubts it, but one can pray>.
Politics: Staying out of this as much as I can, because I prefer not to involve myself in all the mudslinging. However, I will say that I did vote for McCain in today's primary even though some things about him bother me (his stances on the minimum wage and abortion, as well as his pattern of lying and denying Jannie mentioned), because I decided I would rather see him in the White House than someone like Bush (Green Baron's most recent post, and Robby's comment about what qualifications Bush has, have already said why).
Abortion Deal: I don't really want to get involved in this debate either, since I mainly view abortion as something that should be kept private and not even discussed by anyone. :( My view on the issue is that I don't like it when abortion is done, since I agree with the whole "children have a right to life" deal and I also know that even with the procedure the woman ends up feeling pain for it like Cyborg mentioned (great pain in fact, I haven't known it firsthand, but I have a friend who's had the operation and felt the painful aftereffects. She may not have to take responsibility for her child now, but the image of who they might have been and what she did still haunts her every time she thinks about it...) But at the same time- who am I, or who is anyone, to force our opinions, beliefs, demands, whatever on others? Outlawing abortion would definitely do just that, especially since so many proponents of outlawing abortion have cited religious reasons for doing so. Patrick brings up good legal points too, which I am going to mention to the resident campus abortion protesters next time I argue with them. :) IMHO, abortion should never have become a political issue. It should be left to the people who are involved in the troubles that might require it to determine whether or not it should be done. I and millions of other people may not like the deed, but I think it would be much more civil, politically safe, intelligent, wise, and so on to not do anymore about it than speak out. The people who might want to have abortions could then take our comments into account when making their decision, but the choice in the end would be left up to them, as it should be in a free democracy. :) Kaioto has already covered my feelings on sex, creating a child, and taking the responsibility for it, as well as my feelings on the ethical issues of who should settle the debate (though I must admit, I can understand Sharp-tongued's rant, even if I would never agree with its viewpoints in a million years). That's all I have to say about that.
Robby: Mastered 24 fighting video games, huh? That's quite an accomplishment. :) Either that or you have way too much free time on your hands. <sighs> As a fighting game fan though not a frequent player anymore (the local arcade got rid of Soul Calibur, the only one I really liked), I guess I kinda envy you. :) I also agree with you about BNW and that awful Reunion Round Robin tale.
Jewel: Those guys on your tech support are boneheaded alright. Give them some extra what-for for me if they keep calling you, okay? :) Especially the flirting ones. Man, if I was in your shoes and somebody did that to me, they would so NOT be getting the help they needed. :) (BTW, just so you know, even though I agree with your attitude, I also agree with Revel about jobs in general. Who can do them better depends on the individual, not anything else. I also agree with SJ that standards should not be lowered just to make equality in jobs easier, as I've said before. I'm sure you believe this too, right? :) <jk>
*mild spoilers ahead*
Buffy and Angel This Week: Liked both episodes. The demons in Angel looked cool and had very nicely portrayed personalities as well. I liked the villains also, especially the female lawyer (who I wouldn't mind seeing again). Good developments on Cordelia (the computer scenes were hilarious, and it was great seeing her being resourceful again instead of inept), Wesley (so he CAN kick ass! :), and Angel (who had excellent development all throughout). The plot of the ep was sorta predictable, but still good. I give it a 7/10. Buffy, on the other hand, gets a 9/10. I enjoyed pretty much all of it. The Adam subplot was good in and of itself, and has much potential for being carried ahead into future episodes (I'm one of the few who likes how things turned out and could logically see it happening too). The Willow and Tara development was well-written, and so was the Buffy-Giles interaction. Faith shined in all her scenes, whether portrayed by Elisa Dushku or SMG. I liked all the developments that were done relating to her, especially her meanness to Spike and the scene at the end in the church. As SJ and Anne said, it's good that Faith's true nature is beginning to shine through her potential for evil action, and I too liked seeing her evolve throughout the ep (especially since it generated so many great quotes). My only problems with the episode were that the Council soldiers weren't very interesting as either characters or villains (and thus a disappointing comeback for the Council, whose activities I'm still wondering about a lot. Maybe another Slayer was somehow generated when Faith went into that coma and they're concentrating on her?), and that Spike, Anya, and Xander (my favorite characters) didn't get much screen time. Hope that changes soon, for Xander especially since he deserves more attention. Oh well, the ep was still very enjoyable, for the Faith development and scenes if nothing else. :)
*mild spoilers end*
Anne: Thanks for the response, and the prayers. :) May your weekend this time around be equally as good, without the flawed haircut and the jerks pointing it out. <grin>
6 yr old Shooting: <sighs> What is this nation coming to? I too am of course distressed by this happening, and that's all I'm going to say about it. I can't do anything about the instance, nor can I do much to help the child who did it since his parents don't sound like the type who would tolerate attempts. :( I guess I'll just pray for the kid, and all who have been affected by the tragedy he caused, at the same time thanking God that most children in this world don't have to suffer the damage of being raised by such people of the type that cultivated him. <turns away and cries alone for several long moments>
Doug sends his thanks to all those who delivered birthday wishes. If you're wondering, we both had a very good time at the celebration and especially afterwards. :) He'll probably list his birthday gifts next time he posts if anyone cares.
Green Baron: Thanks for posting your column, I think you did a pretty good job on it. :) Though your point was a little hard for a person not involved in political science to pick out IMO. :( Hope you keep having good luck with such postings, and will let us know when they happen in the future, as well as improve. $ We're not mad about you taking out Hilary, by the way, you have a right to your opinion of her. Doug and I too have been somewhat annoyed with the woman of late. :) Tell you what, execute Guliani and we'll call it even. I'm sure you can think of an appropriate method. :) $
Garg/Human Relationship: I think one could be possible too. Of course, I do have to say that, with all the fantasies I've had about one. <grins, rolls eyes> Not sure if I'd be that ready for one happening with myself or someone I knew IRL at first, but probably after a while, I would be able to deal with it. :)
Joe: Glad to know you're doing alright. Sorry to hear that you and SOROW were fighting, but I too am happy it's over now. :) As for your pregnant friend and what happened to her because of it, I'm afraid I don't have the time right now to air my full opinion on the episode. Nor do I want to be in the kind of mood such a rant could get me into when Doug's family could arrive here at any time. :( Therefore, I'll just say that I agree with you that it is a very bad thing for your friends' peers to have done that to her, and about the high school in general not supporting her like they should have. <sighs> I'm glad you and SOROW supported her and remained friends with her even through all that (as I think you did), and hope that your friend somehow is able to handle the unfortunate situation. If you speak with her, please let her know she's in my prayers. :)
<sighs once more> That's about all I have to say for now. I think I better go ahead and post this, just so I have time to get ready for the family visit. Will see all of you later, hope you have a good weekend. Stay civil and friendly, okay? :) Bye!
**RP RESUMES, SINCE THERE IS A LITTLE TIME**
In his secret base, Thailog listens to Alchemist's report of where the Ravens may be headed next and grimaces. "They must not ruin my designs this time," he declares. "The fools can mess with my megalomaniacal schemes all they want, I enjoy them as rivals, but my revenge on the Nielsen ratings people...Never!" "What are we going to do about them messing with it?" Donna Gardner asks. "It's not like we can stop them now." Thailog clenches his jaw and glares daggers at her. "No, but we can throw obstacles in their way. Kharsus!" "Yes, my lord?" the wizard asks. "Summon your most powerful elemental thralls and send them to create havoc in Los Angeles's Beverly Hills District! Meanwhile, I want you, Tyl, to send e-mails to several of the gangs in South Central that will create an incredibly brutal war between them. I'm sure you can find websites that will help you accomplish that." "Indeed I can," Tyl nods. "Not that I'll need them, of course. Gang leaders are generally very easy to manipulate." Thailog smiles. "Both of you do me the favor of ensuring that the elemental rampage and the war burn themselves out quickly once they flare. We want them to last long enough for the Ravens to get distracted helping the local police solve the chaos, but not so long that too much of the city is destroyed. Making the events go on too long could betray our hand to the world, and this is not a major part of our design." The group all nods, and then Kharsus and Tyl get up to carry out their orders. Thailog then tells General Zale to have his cloned troops assist Tyl in starting the gang war if necessary, and Zale gets up as well. Dahak also leaves to aid Kharsus in his summoning and gaining control of the elemental thralls. "By the way, Mr. Thailog," Donna Gardner says after they leave, "shouldn't we warn your friend Asil that your enemies are coming to attack her?" Thailog frowns, then nods. "Yes, I was just about to think of that. I'll call her now." He picks up the phone in his chair arm and dials Asil's hideout. Unfortunately, Asil and the DLG have already departed the penthouse to make a supply run and then attack the Nielsen building, so the call is not answered. Thailog frowns at the ninth ring and then hangs up and sighs, hoping the diversions his other minions are creating will be enough to help Asil accomplish her objective as the screen goes blank.

Wilek: Deposit my sanity, eh? Is there a pick-up for it later? ;D If I may ask...what's the mistletoe?
Gside: My brain wasn't exactly in the right place yesterday--I meant to say FF8. I didn't mean to come off ignorant, because I've gone through VII and VIII, as well, and certainly know the difference! And, I think it's quite cool to own a bunch of posters of the characters. I was actually quite _flattered_ that my friend asked *me* to make a painting for him; sorry if I came off sounding a little harsh!
Revel: I feel for you on the midterm thing, my friend!
Ah, the weekend. The first time in ages that I _don't_ have to work on a Saturday! YESSS! It's fanfic catchup time!

Ok I decided to keep my big yap shut on the subject but now I can't.
If you all dont know by now but there have been four..count them four babies abandoned recently in the central Florida area(Don't worry they are all alive) One of the mothers was only 13.
Takes deep breath and rubs temples
WHERE THE HELLMOUTH ARE THIS GIRL'S PARENTS?! what kind of iresponsible trash doesnt keep their kid from getting pregnant at 13?! oy
Should these babies have been aborted? NO! already people have line up to adopt these kids. With good parenting they maybe future presidnets or one of them might find the cure to aids...unless that kid has already been aborted, but, ok I dont really believe in past lives, but in this case i believe the souls of aborted, stillbirth, and kids who died before they can atleast see jr hgih will be reincarnated. Get a second chance.
HARRY POTTER NEWS I read somewhere that the Sixth Sense Haley joel Osment is going to be cast as Harry... I don't know if he can pull a british accent but I liked his work so far. He was good in the movie and good as a cancer patient on Alley McStick.
Health News...well i'm healthy but recently my right foot..on the bottom of my foot above the heel near the center has been sore and hard to walk, painfull but not impossible. I'm not sure what to do either see a podiatrist or maybe a good soak in my mom's foot massager might help
TIME for the FAIR...Oy, I love the fair, I love the food especial the grilled corn on the conb that is soaked in butter and I LOVE the swing ride...its my favorite but if the people behind the fair and the people behind schedulain Spring break would get togethr. Sprin break begins the day after the fair ends?!...Wouldent it make more money if it was open at the same time as spring break?

For those of you that missed the "Talk to the Pros" chat last week at the Gargoyles Fandom Reunion, here's one of the chat logs (kindly hosted by Guandalug, one of our German fans -- Danke!) We hope to have a copy of the chat log up on the Reunion site as soon as RL slows down a little for us to do it.
Adoption>> I highly advocate adoption, having been through the recent adoptions of my neice and nephew. However, it can be difficult both emotionally and financially to adopt. My brother-in-law and his wife went through several agencies and two near-misses (cases where an unwed mother was talked out of giving up the child for adoption) before getting their first child. As result, they kept the second adoption totally secret from the family because the near-misses were so heart-breaking. We had no idea until they showed up with Andrew, that they were even thinking of adopting again. It was just one of those seredipitious events that happened to work out.

Wilek: Yeah, that sheet music stuff is confusing. Good thing I've got a good ear for music, then. :)
Revel: Ooo, you listed visiting me as a possible vacation goal. :)
Well, not much to comment on right now... I might be back later.

Well it's Friday. The great thing is that next week is the last week before Spring Break. Unfortunatly this is also a double-edged sword because next week is going to be a pain in the a$$. All my mid terms are next week and I have a mid term portfolio due on either Tuesday or Thursday. My TA won't tell us who goes when so that really bites. @#$%*@!
WARNING BAD JOKE (if this is bad for your health bla bla bla skip it) These were comprised by a demon, a pegan who lives down the hall, my roommate, and my Resident Assistant.
Top ten vacation spots within a college student's budget.
10. Your campus swimming pool(you could always pretend it is a small lake)
9. Motel 6 on Lake Conroe (good view, cheap)
8. Parking your car on the San Jacinto river and fishing (been there, done that)
7. New York City (if someone else pays for it)
6. Visiting Warpmind as an exchange student(woohoo international travel)
5. Anywhere besides school
4. Louisiana (I usually live in Houston so it's not that far)
3. Six Flags (if enough people chip in for gas it's not so bad)
2. San Antonio (Because we all agree it just kicks a$$)
1. Home (BECAUSE IT'S FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!)
END BAD JOKE
Well I think I'll leave before the stoning begins.

Green Baron & Archwolf: If we are comparing our Irish family trees, my Da was born and bred in Ireland. We are Curtin, with O'Sullivan on my grandmother's side. My Mom's a Fitzpatrick.
Gside: I didn't think you were being obscene, I just couldn't figure out what you were talking about. My dictionary was no help too. Thanks for the explanations!
Jannie: "I don't think it's the lack of people...in adoption and/or foster care" I agree with you there. Of course, you can call me a criminal or an anarch, but I just see the ways around the red tape. People can arrange addoptions and fosterings on their own. It's a very simple thing to transfer gardianship of a child- much easier than the adoption system and better for the child too. Only problem is that the mother/parents have to know someone who is willing and able to take the child. It's not a large problem though. My mother was adopted in that manner when she was a girl, and when I was younger, I had 'foster siblings' from that way too.
Mecord: I had heard something about a university teaching an AS like it was a child to learn more about psychology. I'm not sure where I heard it though.
Wilek-> the Beast question: I'd want my prince to stay a Beast. I would feel safer with a Beast to protect me. After all, (in the Disney version) didn't the Beast save Belle from that pack of wolves?
It's time for my 3000 mile check- up, but I'll be back later, Bye.

Rodlox> <<how many words in human languages are produced because of the _lips_? if someone has a beak, that might not mean they don't have lips>> I always thought the edges of the beak *were* lips, or at least close enough in flexibility and general shape to act as such (whether or not that is their primary purpose).
SOROW> <<I still can't move my neck and my back hurts really bad! But I'm still alive! I'm having some difficulty reading though.>> Ack...glad you've woken up at least, but the neck and back things *could* be symptoms of spinal trauma, and I don't even want to think about what might be causing the reading difficulties...hope these aren't as serious as I fear. O_O'
Fire Storm> <<I know those are the first things I read in Avalon Mists.>> Me as well; the cartoons are my favorite AvMists feature. (Second would be the Artists/Writers challenges. I always have a look at those, in the unlikely event that I might be able to actually do them.) <<Acutally UofM Ann Arbor made one about 6 years ago (Well... at least the hardware to do so.)>> O_O Wow...<speechless>
Mecord> $<<During that meeting a while back in the RP I got the idea was blast a superlaser through the portal and have the Dark Mage close it.>> Ah. I remember that, although I kind of got the impression that it would happen on the planet's surface...Guess I was wrong; wouldn't be the first time. ;) $ <<My favorite story was always Beuty and the Beast (though I liked the beast better as the beast not the prince).>> And I thought I was the only one. :) The Disney version of Beast (I've never seen any other, unless King's Quest 6 counts) is *way* kewler than his human form. I have to wonder--what is the logic in getting Belle to love him the way he is, and then changing his form when that happens?! O_o Ladies, which would you prefer (and gentlemen, which would you rather be): A puny weak hairless ape, or 300+ pounds of fur, fangs, muscle, and claws? Hm? <L>
Warpmind> <<Working a little on more detailed planning, bud.>> Thanks. ^_^ <<I seem to be something of a dyslexic when it comes to reading music. All those little dots and stuff confuse me...>> You too? I wish I could read sheet music; I could use my MID editor to compose a MIDI soundtrack for my fics...I'm musically inclined, but for some reason, that doesn't extend to actually *reading* the stupid thing. >:/

Not much time, so I'll be brief.
Fire Storm: Hmmm... I see your point. Personally, I hardly ever pass up such a chance. Unless I can clearly see I was intended to make the joke (just as fun in certain situations).
Gside: I'll pass on that band thing. I seem to be something of a dyslexic when it comes to reading music. All those little dots and stuff confuse me... As for Chronotrigger, well, yes, I found that secret room in Ozzie's fortress, and yes, I got that superweapon for Crono made from the Rainbow Shell & the Sun Stone, and no, I didn't use save spots to save before I scrubbed the floor with Lavos, so I don't have the "New Game +" option after all. :(
Well, gotta run.

Hey everybody. Things are starting to look a little better. The reason I was so derpressed two days ago was because I found out that one of my best friends is pregnant. And because certain rivals of her has the audacity to spread it all over school, she won't be able to finish the year with us. (high school is so stupid) SOROW and I also got in a fight that day, but things are better now:) Plus, the competition that she has been preparing for is coming pretty close so hopefully we'll have a little time to spend together before she has to prepare for her officer tryout. (It doesn't matter though cause it is pretty obvious that she's going to make captain) I'm so glad that there is a place on the net where I can just come and vent. You guys are great.

Rodlox-I remember two eps. when Brooklyn really showed his teeth. When Elisa first met the Gargoyles and when he was beaten up by his clone. Both times his teeth began at this beak and stretched back to his jaw.
Sorow-I would take reading difficulty as a bad sign. If it keeps up I would seek help soon. No need to take chances.
Fire Storm><<Do we really see the chances for peace and co-existence in real life, even though the answer is right in front of us?>> IMO sometimes yes and sometimes no. A person might pick up on it one time and completely miss it the next. If someone sees something that they don't understand, was taught to hate, or fear then most likely no one would see a peaceful solution until it was far to late. In the case of the four or five "The Planet of the Apes" movies they had a bunch of chances, but they never could get past old prejudices.
See ya later!

out of curiousity, will we be seeing/hearing more of the Tengu in the upcoming season(s) of Gargoyles/Timedancer/Dark-Ages ?? {the teachers-tricksters of Nipponese {japan} folklore}....though based on the reaction of Sata's clan, there may be eminity {a sore spot} between Gargoyles and Tengu/Karasu.

Gside: < <<the placental demons must die>>: Sorry, what? are you getting into embryology here? >
. actually, no, i'm not. Class Mammalia {mammals} has three sub-categories: Eutheria, Metatheria, and....drat, what was the third one? {Tricont-?}. the first means 'good mammals' {what did you expect when it's the group the classifiers are part of}, the second means 'middle' or 'half-way mammals' {marsupials}, and the third group is the monotremes {egg-laying mammals}.
placentals are the first group. {if you haven't already guessed that [much]}.

Rodlox> phonetics: Getting rid of bilabial and labiodental phenomes would rid you of p,b,m,f,v, vioced and unvoiced bilabial fricatives (beta and phi in International Phonetic Alphabet), vioced bilabial trill (B), vioced labiodental nasal (m with a tail), voiced labiodental approximant (nu), and unvioced bilabial ejective stop (p'). This severelimits pronouncable English words.
Cyborg> <<Bilabia...labiodent, dent...?!what??>>: Don't worry, it's not obscene. I am currently taking a linguistics course and was trying to sound smart. Bilabial sounds are those made with both lips (important are the vioced and unvoiced stops there, b and p respectively), labiodental sounds use a combination of lips and teeth (f and v are the unvioced and vioced fricatives there).
Rodlox> <<the placental demons must die>>: Sorry, what? are you getting into embryology here?
Fire Storm> <<Keep uploading those MP3's. I enjoy them>>: Don't worry, I currently have the playlist for the next month planned out with logical steps between every song, and I haven't even started to run low.
Random Rutgers news: There was a pizza eating contest in McCormick (my dorm) tonight. Didn't win, but while the second place tie was deuling, I managed to bring my total up to a full pie (minus crust for the second half). And I just found out I made the page o' stupid quotes (http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~tfarrell/stupid.html)
Warpmind> <<Not too many bands that keep a seat open for an ocarina-player, are there?>>: Eh, we could probably turn you, most likely to a flautist. (And you'd be surprised, one piece I played actually had a brief ocarina).
<<one may want to have Frog on the Lavos Attack Force, and in that case you've at least got to check out Cyrus' grave>>: Not with my levels. If you want, I could add a *.zst to my directory so you can see just how easy it is. And did you find the hidden room in Ozzie's fort (for Magus's best stuff)?
Robby> <<Animaiacs. Amazingly educational AND fun>>: Always. And we do have some mp3s lying around here somewhere...
Calìope> <<Mr. Typo Man, Calliope with 2 ll's is in english, I'm Caliope with accent on the "i">>: So I am put in my place (though I think I did that at least one time before). Dang language barrier. Oh, and depending on the accent, it is either Alt-0236, Alt-0237, Alt-0238, or Alt-0239.
Green Baron> <<I never thought that much about party and all. I just picked one party because I don't like the otehr major party>>: Nor have I thought too much about it. I just don't despise or adore one party that much. And I rather agree with George Washington about parties, they're not worth the trouble (I wish I knew the quote, anyone have any good quotations pages bookmarked?).
Shadowrider> <<By the way, why does he send his "suggestions" ... only to Italian government and not to other countries' ones>>: Perhaps because he has more of a vested interest in how things turn out there?
<<I have to practice irregular verbs (you think you have a lot?>>: Yes. Every time the subject comes up, someone always seems to say that English has more irregular rules than other other language, which makes it so hard to get right.
<<Mr. Sinister: so you think he'd be better to call himself "nobody", isn't it?>>: I just have a penchant for literary allusion and think that it would be neat that Cyclops's nemesis was named after someone who blinded a mythological cyclops.
