Cyborg> Are you a shrink? If not get a job as one! :):):):)
and to both yours and warpmind's answer it's a religeon that is orginated with the agent Norse people of scandinavia, that was taken up by the vikings. <grimaces at wroten fruit being thrown because of it's a viking religeon> sry if it brought ill will!
Either way, any good movies been seen by anyone and who else wants to see the replacements?? I mean it sounds really good and I'm dying to see it! Besides I LOVE Keanu Reaves! And he's in it so YIPPY!
And this is stupid, but I think I'm gonna try and get into colledge in England, and ditch Harvard and yale! Who wants to be a stuck up snob, or live with em? I'd rather go see friends in England and get my junk there! Well my sis is biting my arse to get off the computer so toodles and G'day!

Mandolin: Methos? heck, bring him in anyway.....an old friend of Sarah O'Neill's! {i used to imagine that she was the 5th Horseman - the one who shoed the horses}......yeah, i hated the ending of SG1 this past friday too - both because of Martouf's death {well, on the + side, Narim has one less compeditor for Sam's affections}....and did you hear him call her "Sam"? it's always been "Samantha" - there was more heartfelt in a nickname than the fullname for them!

something about the name Freya made me keep asking the show "where's the Azgard connection??" {Freya, goddess and wife}.

Hi! Not much happening here. I'm really starting to look forward to my first Gathering. Don't kill the mood Fire Storm!

Shadowrider> Welcome back!! I missed seeing your CR posts. That was quite a bike trip! I'm glad to hear you have a great time and look forward to any details you want to share in your next post! :)

Cyborg> You're right, there is a difference depending on what you use to view the CR colors. It is interesting how the two platforms do not agree on some colors. It potentially makes life that much more difficult for web designers. <MacBeth is Sean Connery> Oh yeah! I thought that when I first saw the character!

Katara> <wrist> Ouchie! Take care of that wrist and I hope it gets better really soon!

cherry blossom> **Hug** Change is usually difficult. I hope it works out for the best. We are here for you if you whenever you need us.

David> <kitten> Goblyn sounds like a cute kitten! Have you figured out her personality yet? <AC> Try not to melt in the Texan heat! Hope you get it fixed right away!

Warpmind> <486> I don't think you are going to like your next computer as much. I find they have gotten more fragile and difficult to tweak these days.

Yggdrasil> Welcome back! I remember some similar experiences when I first learned how to drive a car. My drivers education teacher was driving us out to the range and we all watched her drinking coffee, changing the radio stations (this gave a moment of no hands on the wheel), and pretty much ignoring a few stop signs. Before it was our turn she said if you do any of the things she did you would fail the road test but she was experienced so for her it was okay. :)

Stephen R. Sobotka, Jr.> Congratulations on becoming an uncle! Here's to Amanda. Cheers! **takes a drink**

Niamhgold> I'm fine. :) I'm looking for a special friend to spend time with on a regular basis. **His eyes sparkle** Hey, did you get my last email? I sent it about the time you left for the wedding and baby shower. ^_^ <need help> I'll help :) Let me know what you need and I'll send it immediately!

Yay! Shadowrider's back! ** Hugz ** I was getting worried! :)

Zath: I have only an inkling as to how the boat became airborne--I believe the crackpot owner had one of those airplane kits, but decided to spare buying the body and used his boat. Smart, eh? I'm picturing him having a friend push it off a cliff for him...

DPH: Wow, you've really got a tough workload. At my retail job (which I do in my spare time from my other job, just so I have a consistent cash flow), the longest they're allowed to work us before two break days, is five days. I think it may be a law to not have an employee work more than ten days straight. However, we all know how some companies easily get away with these things...

Stephen: Congrats! ** Hands him a cigar, candy-type ;) **

Some help for Niamhgold: I need someone who is able to access www.gargoyles.ch/episode/s2be.html for me...I need some pickies off the site to finish a project, and I'm getting desperate! Help!

Thanks and adios!

**Work Related**
As much overtime as the factory is doing, I am suprised that they do not shift to 4 10 hour days and 3 12 hour days. They would cut back on overtime and bring employee morale up and decrease absentism.
**End Work related**

I have a simple plan: as soon as I finish surfin the 'net, take a shower and catch up on sleep. 20 straight days and 6 more until a day off.

Taleweaver>"something being done about the dark colors" I find there is only a problem with them on some monitors. I will probably be pelted with rotten fruit for saying this, but so far, with the different monitors I use, I have found that the imac screens have the least problem with the dark colours.

Warpmind>"It has no power button. That broke - I now have to physically hotwire it to make it run" Sounds a bit like how I 'fixed' my VCR... with bubble gum.

Hi ya'll. Not much to say today. I thought some of you might be interested in the most recent addition to my household, though. I bought a cute little black cat a few days ago. She's about two months old. When I bought her, I was told that she was a boy, so I named her Tybalt. A bit of observation on my part revealed the pet store lady's error, so I've changed her name to Goblyn.

I've always wanted a cat named Goblyn.

Oh well, I gotta go gripe to my building manager about my broken AC again. See ya'll later.

*Warpmind enters, carrying several never-seen-before weapons, both edged and blunt.* Ah, the joys of creating an RPG set on an alien world... I'm having a friend help me devise multiple melée weapons for the game, as well as a unique form of martial arts... this's gonna be fun working with, guys. :)

Oh, well... Rodlox, I got your e-mail. Check your inbox for response - if you didn't get it, it got lost in the blackout here today, and I'll have to write a new reply.

Cyborg: To fix an unwilling PC, no screwdriver is necessary. A few well applied death threats, combined with some basic kung fu knowledge will suffice. ;) But really, I'm actually terrified that my 486 has survived for as long as it has, the way I've been using and treating it. (It has no power button. That broke - I now have to physically hotwire it to make it run. It does.)

Stephen: So, you're an uncle now? Congrats, man... at least there's one bright spot to light up the present, eh?

Christine: Will do. Watch out for e-mail order.

Yggdrasil: Your vivid descriptions make me think of how I treat my computer. I myself am so accustomed to it, that I think nothing of the dangers I know are connected (no pun intended) to hotwiring it the way I do... and I know from experience that 12 volts into the hand stings *badly*. I guess with experience comes that undefinable something which makes all the motions go smoothly and efficiently, where you no longer fear the clumsy accidents that are usually caused by split attention, like having to check the textbook...

Gside: I know. But anyway... until I get a new PC with my own connection (and I don't consider modem a "connection"), I won't be online. Them's the breaks, man. Oh, well, at least my Necromancer is well armed for fightin' by now... a clay golem, seven skeletal warriors and three skeletal magi... *sniffs, wipes tear from eye* My little minions... all grown up and wreaking havoc. ;)

Oh, well, that's it for now... gotta be going.

New Jersey county fairs are very scary. I have learned from experience.

End of Gundam Wing: There are two things I can't quite figure out. What happened to Hilde, and did the engineers get caught in the blast?

Niamhgold> <<I'm glad that the cheesecake has been reincarnated in a new and more delicious form>>: It has been such for somewhere around twenty years now, but it is just. That. Good.

Warpmind> Let me just say this. You never know when someone is going to pop up online. Or in Diablo.
<<just grease yourself with a wee bit of patience for now>>: I wouldn't normally associate grease and patience.

Cyborg> <<have you ever had kosher cream cheese (for meat meals)?>>: Nioe, but I like my meat. Tofu scares me. Plus, maybe I am trying too much to be the antithesis of my brother.

Zath> <<I wonder if he'll ever finish the third book in the series>>: The Salmon of Doubt? Perhaps eventually, but I think he said it was moving away from a Dirk style book.

Taleweaver> <<Blazing Saddles>>: The sheriff is a n**bong**. You seem to be on a Mel Brooks kick.

Lady Mystic> Back button: It's probably a good idea to have the navigation links on every page, I was just sharing my own way of traveling through the web.

SRS Jr.> Enjoy the niece. And will the eyes stay blue (I think pigment can come in late)?

Mandolin> <<the others threw pillows at me to shut me up>>: **flashes back to suite life** An explanation: whenever anyone said anything said anything stupid in my suite, they got a pillow thrown at them (amazingly, I was not often in the line of fire). It often got quite frantic.

Welcome back Yggdrasil
<<last night I was mixing reagents with one hand while munching on a pizza>>: That's the way to do it. And the pizzas taste so much better. Probably almost like Jersey pizza.

Greetings Everyone! I'm back.

Well its been a long strange trip, but I'm still alive. My research is going along nicely and the thesis should be done by this time next year. For now however I had a few free min. to look through the CR. Just wanted to say hi, and I should be around for a few days before my Prof. shend me back to the abyss that is my lab.

On a side note, do any of you remember your parents saying, "do as I day and not as I do." This phrase has become a motto at the University. We tell the undergrads not to eat in the lab, to wear their glasses, labcoats ect. and yet just last night I was mixing reagents with one hand while munching on a pizza. Across the lab one of my fellow grad students was running a gel in his pyjamas(the sleeping bag was under the desk.). Just thing we are the ones who are trusted to keep the younger students alive in the lab....scary thought isn't it.

See ya!

Stephen > congrats on the new niece!

Books > to clarify, at the moment and unless something changes drastically, Sabledrake (in other words, Tim and I) is the _only_ source for Dark of the Elvenwood. Believe me, I wish it was otherwise, but that's the breaks with the way we're doing it. We will be looking into what it takes to get it carried through amazon.com and making an effort to get it into local stores, but beyond that, I really doubt it'll show up at your local bookstores anytime soon. :(

Rodlox > the library? Well, since that's the province of the distributor, which means it'd have to come through Sterling House, and they are [unprintable], I'd say the chances of it turning up in the library system are pretty darn slim ...

Well, I came back from the beach thinking I'd be back to posting as regularly as before... but then work struck. That is, I had nothing to do, and asked Jackie for the nth time if there was something I could do on the department web site. For once, there was. I've spent the past three days pulling together a bunch of sampling guide web pages based on a bunch of Word files my supervisor gave me. I was pretty much allowed to put them together however I saw fit. Jackie's just thrilled with me and refuses to let the secretary grab me away for inventory now. Web page work is a heck of a lot better than data entry, and I can put this on a resume. :)

Now to the catching up.

Mary re: rapes> Gaah! That's scary! Be careful, okay?

Stephen> I'm sorry about you and Andrea... I really don't know what to say. Hang in there, all right? **hugs**

But congratulations on becoming an uncle. :)

Mara> Happy birthday! **gives her a huge wrapped package** Whatever's inside is up to you... :)

Christine> The book is out! The book is out! Yes!!

G2K stuff> Well, I'm going, but... **sigh** That same weekend, my mom's family's having their first reunion in ten years down in North Carolina. I tried to exchange my tickets to get to NC on Thursday and Orlando Friday, but it didn't work out. And I haven't seen my cousin Steph in five years. Darn it all.

On a lighter note, I'm still debating over whether or not to bring an important piece of equipment to G2K: my new digital camera. On the one hand, it would be great to have... on the other hand, a lot of people at G99 recall what happened to my regular camera in Dallas. (Some may recall it vividly, what with the panic attack I had.) But it's still tempting. I'm not doing the Masquerade this year - I have NO time to throw a costume together - so maybe I'll be better able to hold on to it. Then again, maybe not.

Patrick> The fanfic panel reminds me. I still cannot get into my school account at home. If you know who's managing the G2K mailing list, could you tell them to e-mail me at weird_web@hotmail.com so I can get the school addy taken off and my Hotmail one put on?

**SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT'S STARGATE! MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILERS!**

I know there are a few SG-1 fans here, and I needed to vent. While technically, "Divide and Conquer" was a good episode (even with the Sam/Jack UST, which thankfully was handled well, and despite the fact that Freya/Anise is just annoying), and the ending made for a plot twist that I didn't see coming until it was brought up...

They killed Martouf. I was so happy to see them bring him back (considering Anise was getting on my nerves), only to kill him off. Argh! And they couldn't even bring back Peter Wingfield's excellently creepy Goa'uld infiltrator to just point fingers at...

Okay. I'm done.

**SPOILERS END!**

Gside re: Dogma 4 times> <<but did you regret it?>> No, although when they got sick of me reciting lines, the others threw pillows at me to shut me up.

Need to try to get caught up on TGS stuff now, then crash... night, all!

Greetings all...

As of today, I, Stephen R. Sobotka, Jr. officially entered the ranks of all Uncles and Aunts out there when my first niece, Amanda Marie Ellington, was born via Caesarian to my sister Patricia Ann Ellington and brother-in-law Roy Ellington at 6:40pm EST. Both mother and child are doing well... Amanda arrived as a 8 lb. 2 oz, 22 in. baby girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Father Roy is also doing well, since he's now allowed to have his dinner at 10pm EST. :)

Something that made my day, and I hope everyone will join me in a toast: To Amanda Marie... may she have a long and happy life, and a loving family to support and cherish her.

19 straight days of work and I have to go in tomorrow. If I get hired, I will ask for one special condition: I do not have to work more than 26 days in a row without time-of.

Does anyone have any idea when computer prices will fall again? 4 more weeks until I can afford to buy the computer I want. Of course, that would deplete my checking account so in actuality, 6 more weeks.

ZATH - Well, the thing that actually discouraged me about recruiting from the Arthurian newsgroup wasn't so much the prospect of their not being familiar with Gargoyles as with the fact that their attention was focused almost exclusively on the issue of "Was there a real King Arthur or wasn't there?" and on the background of the real 5th/6th century Britain, rather than on the legendary Arthur of medieval romance - and the King Arthur of TGS and Gargoyles both is clearly the latter. (More or less, although his hair-style does strike me as more appropriate for an ancient Celtic chieftain than a medieval monarch). So the Arthurian aspects that they're focused on wouldn't be the same as the Arthurian aspects that TGS is focused on for "Pendragon".

Clut-classic video to rent this weekend: Blazing Saddles
Why? It has a hot title and it's pretty hot here in SoCal. (Memo to self: Talk to Chaos Technicians to release more butterflies in China)

Our office is shutting down for the week so I may not get a chance to post for a while. Everyone who is going to the Gathering, safe trip there and back. Take lots of pictures and make friends with people with scanners so those of use who can't can live vicarioulsy through the experience.

Recruitment: I think the argument to recruit from the TGS room can be won by the fact that there are usually more lurkers than posters in the room. In think 5 or 7 post every single day while 10-11 post every other day or twice a week, and more every once and a while. That doesn't mean that only 20 people read TGS. There are a lot of people who read, but don't post for one reason or another. I don't think a recruitment drive would deplete the readership.

New CR> It may be late to comment but is something being done about the dark colors? I don't want to eliminate them, but dark colors like red and blue don't show up well on a black backround. Is there anyway around it?

Stephan, my sympathies are with you. I hope things will turn out better for you.

Well I have to go. See ya

Cyborg> <<but I was trying to find as many reasons as posible for her not to be so scared.>> Sorry I snapped at you. It's just that I've met some people who think being drunk really does excuse rape, and those people deeply disturb me. I just overreacted to your statement and replied without stopping to think.

Stephen R. Sobotka> <<my missus Andrea and I are splitting up>> I'm sorry to hear that. I don't really know what else to say. : (

Entity> Sorry I missed this one the first time <<USC does require an interview, though. Meaning you've gotta fly out there, right?>> I didn't have to have an official interview, but I think an interview sometimes works in favor of an applicant if they cannot decide whether or not to accept them. I don't remember their policy on who needs one and who does not. Have you checked their website www.usc.edu ? It's not the easiest site to navigate, but it probably has the information you want in there somewhere. Also, as other people have mentioned, there is the possibility of phone interviews and interviews with people who live in your area.

Gside> <<everything I have taken so far has been requirement for either one of my majors, my minor, or one of my honors programs. The pressures of multiple majors...>> Many of the classes I listed fulfilled general education requirements. We have 6 broad categories of classes and need to take one of each in addition to whatever classes our major requires. The chemistry I took because for a little while I thought I was going to major in biology. I have since changed my mind and am searching for a new major. <<Publishers like authors with whom (on the cover) they can have a short (height-wise) line with the first name, then a big honking font right underneath with the last name. (Credits for theory go to Douglas Adams, Long Dark Teatime of the Soul)>> **LOL** I remember that part. I wonder if he'll ever finish the third book in the series which he's supposedly been working on for what seems like the past decade or so.

Todd Jensen> <<we're rather hesitant about doing the recruiting in this room for fear of eroding our audience, so we mostly search for new recruits among Gargoyles fans who don't come here>> Even just for art staff? <<I've considered at times recruiting staff members for the "Pendragon" portions of "Gargoyles" from an Arthurian newsgroup that I periodically visit>> You might as well try. The worst that can happen is everyone will say "no." Who knows, you might find a couple of closet Gargoyles fans.

Emambu> <<Hopefully, we'll be able to conduct some "interviews" with the people standing around outside>> I have a friend from high school who plans to go there to protest. It would be funny if you two ran into each other. Unfortunately I can't give you a physical description beyond "tallish and skinny" because I haven't seen her in over three years, and she's one of those people who drastically changes her hair color/style every couple of months.

Mara> Happy Birthday!

Niamhgold> <<turns out the plane wasn't actually a plane, but a * 9-foot rubber boat with wings and a propeller attached>> How on earth did they even get the thing airborne in the first place, a giant slingshot?

Okay, I'm going to be rather busy in the next few days, so this is probably my last post until I'm back in TX. I hope everyone has a good weekend, because I certainly plan to do so. : ) Bye for now.

Gside>"decided to swap the proportions of sour cream an cream cheese" Speaking of cream cheese, have you ever had kosher cream cheese (for meat meals)? It's made with tofu, and I swear, it tastes better that the 'real' thing.

Niamhgold>"MacBeth: I'm picturing Donald Sutherland or Anthony Hopkins" No way! The only person who could ever do justice to MacBeth is Sean Connery. I heard that the way the character moves and talks is based on him.

Warpming>"Your CR posts seem fine to me" They are fine now, but it has taken quite a bit of work to get them this way. My first experiences with guestbook entries were not so lucky, and that seems to have soured me on the whole thing. I'm no good with yearbooks either.
"after seven years, I *still* manage to tweak it to give me more power" I think it was only two years ago that I said goodbye to the ol' XT, or at least what was left of it. As long as you have a good screwdriver...

This is just on Napster. Scroll past if you're sick of hearing it. :)

Gasper> See, even that URL you posted is giving in too much by proposing that downloaded music be paid for. The record industries could have done something like that. They could've sensed a new market and taken advantage. But instead they're pursuing the philosophy that all major corporations seem to have been following in regards to the internet: squash, crush, vanquish, destroy.

The one undeniable fact is that CD sales have GONE UP. Unless this information is fake (though I've gotten it just about every source I go) it means that the record companies have absolutely no base to their case against Napster. It's all about money. But Napster's helping them out. They're just doing this because they're paranoid and ignorant.

Other places> There was an age before Napster, but unfortunately, in the interum it seems that all the old sources of mp3's have folded. Filequest.com has apparently been absorbed by Scour, and Scour (last time I checked) is down. As for iMesh, that program has been a real letdown. It's impossible to connect. Scour Exchange is almost as bad, and it's going down right after Napster. Where does that leave us.

Anyone see that Metallica satire from newgrounds? I don't have the link on me, but it's hilarious.

Well, I'm back to seriously working on my MagiTek RPG system... Guys, I'm making reasonably good progress, but there are things I'd like assistance with, which would be fairly credited: Flora and Fauna. If any of you feel up to it, I could use any suggestions for plants, animals et cetera, for an alien world. Any suggestion would require a drawing (just about any file format would be fine), and an information text (preferrably plain Ascii - no fancy, clever word-processor letter-juggling, please) with the biological data on the plant or beast. Look, if anyone is interested, let me know, 'kay?

Now, on to replies...

Cyborg: Your CR posts seem fine to me; I really doubt you'd find a guestbook entry more complicated...

Rodlox: I'm afraid my schedule hasn't allowed me to read many fanfics lately. :( Still, if, as you say, you've wiped out about 90% of mankind, I'd say you've got pole position... but really, HOW did you do it? (I'm not familiar with MYST, so please enlighten me...)

Mara: Hey! Happy birthday, girl! Hope you have a great day!

Christine: Ooo, the Dark of the Elvenwood books have arrived? Mmmm... you have my credit card number and address, right? Please send me a copy as soon as possible, 'kay? (I don't mind waiting, but remember - two weeks is quite likely the minimum a package will need to cross the Atlantic; if you can't send it (which I doubt you really can anyway) before G2K, try to get t done one of the immediately following weeks.) *Looks at Christine with extraordinarily large Bambi-like eyes.* Pleeeeeeeeease? :) (Naturally, I'll be wanting a signed copy.) ;)

Gside: Um... still, I am forced, agains my will, mind you, to have what the common humans call "regular hours" throughout the day; I myself am more comfortable with a 36-hour day. Still, with my oh-so-annoying waking hours, I cannot access Battle.net at *your* hours without being presented with a ridicolous phone bill. Now, if I myself had a computer with the necessary power to run Diablo II, and a perm connection, which is relatively cheap in Norway, compared to regular connection, things would be different. As it is, I am forced to play on my father's P2-350MHz, since my 486SX33 just won't cut it anymore. (It frightens me - after seven years, I *still* manage to tweak it to give me more power...) Oh, and as for the resurrection thing - it will all become clear in the next fic - just grease yourself with a wee bit of patience for now - it's mostly nestled safely in my brain, waiting to be typed.

Winterwolf: Where Diablo 2 hours are concerned - see my post to Gside. As for my guestbook - not yet today... but after I've posted, I'll check it again.

Gotta run. E-mail to check, guestbook to oversee, y'know, regular stuff...

Greetings all...

First, a very big thanks to everyone's support for me and Andrea concerning our split up. We're taking it day by day... and it's not easy on either of us, but we're coping right now.

Happy B-Day Mara! Take care of that big lug Don... and enjoy his attentions. It isn't every day a girl gets a guy popping out of a cake! :)

Christine: Said it before, but will say it again, CONGRATS! The books arrived, and I know several people that will be pleased to get them at the Gathering! :)

Have to go continue packing for the return to Florida... yes, the vacation that was only supposed to be for a week to visit family is turning out to be a permanent relocation. Thankful that my old friends and family will be there waiting for me.

Maintain and Check Six... and thanks again to all my family here.

** Niamhgold enters **

Hello! I come baring a report from the strange and heinous:

Now, usually, the local new is either filled with reports of bad happenings or good happenings...but a couple nights ago, it was just _weird_. Apparently, some guy's plane crashed into a riverbank (more specifically, into the *only* rock on the riverbank), after taking the tops off some nearby trees. But that's not the weird part--turns out the plane wasn't actually a plane, but a * 9-foot rubber boat with wings and a propeller attached * <:P ? WTH? This is the single weirdest thing I've heard on the news...

Anywho, onto the replies :)

Winterwolf: It's good to _be_ back! :) ** Hugz ** Thank you, I did have a great time! The wedding went off with only a slight hitch, which was that the priest got stuck in traffic. And the baby shower was nice; she liked the clothes I got the baby (at least I knew it was going to be a boy ;) How's things for you? :)

Gside: Thank you, and I'm glad that the cheesecake has been reincarnated in a new and more delicious form ;D

Shadowrider: Hey, where are you? I miss you here in the CR, like Winterwolf said! You didn't leave us early, did you? :(

Mara: Happy Birthday! ** Throws confetti ** CAKE!!!!

Entity: You're welcome for the help :) I understand that you might not want to take time off before going to college...I didn't want to, either :)

Coyote the Bando: Thank you, as well! Hope the storms in your area clear up soon...and I think that we're next in line to get them :0 But, I always love a good thunderstorm, since this year's summer has been quite the jip :)

Gargoyle casting: Elisa: Just not Salma Hayek (sp?). For some reason, she just annoys me ;)
MacBeth: I'm picturing Donald Sutherland or Anthony Hopkins
Bluestone: For some reason, Ben Affleck with red hair...** ducks flying fruit **
Xanatos: The obvious ;) And if not him, then Charlie Sheen.
Fox Xanatos: Nicole Kidman
Owen: Brent Spiner
Castaway: Kiefer Sutherland
Morgan: Keith David (since Morgan doesn't interact w/ Goliath)
That's about all I can come up with for now...

Christine: Congrats on the book! Will be looking for it, and, if I can't find it, I'll pester my local store to order some! :)

Doug & Kit: Thanks! Glad your car survived the trip!

I should get going about now,
Adios!

Christine>> Here's hoping that "Dark of the Elvenwood" gets a great debut at Gathering 2000!! *laughs* Here's a funny thing about Star Wars -- I'm sort of sentimental about it. The USA Network was running the Trilogy back-to-back when I was in labor with Ryan. Even to this day, I can put a Star Wars tape on and Ryan will be glued to the TV. Strange, but true.

G2K Art Show>> My artwork has been in Orlando for about a week now but I've had so many people ask "So, what are you showing at G2K? What are you selling?" that I finally went ahead and posted my G2K Inventory sheet on my site. Since my exhibit is featuring 11 illustrations from the The Gargoyles Saga, I thought I'd go ahead and post a link here. If they sell, they sell and if they don't, they don't. *shrugs* At least I'll be at the Gathering in spirit!

NO Rp today....that is, if anyone was waiting for more. ON Napster.

Damn you RIAA> DAMN YOU. You talk of Piracy. Oh, what's this....you'll screw over your own artists with a less then 8% cut on any albums sold? Oh, and wait, now you'll Screw over people who don't want to line your pockets, and only give the artist 8%. For what it's worth, Atlantic, I loved your Genesis and Phil Cd's. I bought those without looking...but now....I don't know. 20 bucks for Genesis is too much...(gross exaggeration). Why don't you stop trying to screw EVERYONE over, and just let us have our Mp3's. I can't take an MP3 in my car cdplayer, but now, I don't know if I want to take you either.

www.boycott-riaa.com

Let's tell them that even when our grandparents and parents made them what they are, WE CAN BREAK THEM if they try to pull anything else. Boycott all major labels from August until September...then join the larger boycott from September 28th on! Let's make it hurt!

Unfortunately, the RIAA's Golgo 13 has its sites set on Scour.com...and they brought in the Motion Picture Association of America for some Ungodly reason...maybe the RIAA is running out of money.....

iMesh.com It's the way to go right now. I didn't make, I use it, and it's pretty sweet so far.

Well, seeing as you all are going to G2K, I wish you safe travel and good fun with your friends and collegues.

Hi. I said I'd be back!

Mara> Happy Birthday!!

In case I missed anyone and I just might have, Happy Birthday to everyone the celebrated a birthday recently. Now I feel better. :)

Christine> Awesome news! I'll be checking it out!

DPH> Do the scissors end in a sharp point at the tip? I wouldn't consider it a weapon myself but you have to check what your local laws are on the subject. In the end you could use just about anything as a weapon.

Niamhgold> Hi again! I'm just really happy to have you back! **HUGZ** ^_^

Cyborg> <flirting> It is important to just be yourself. If he goes to far or makes you feel uncomfortable just tell him politely how you feel. Also for your safety, not that I think anything will happen, make sure there are other people around. Not to overhear what you say but just in case he becomes hostile. It seems some people are set off quite easily. :(

Warpmind> I understand the time difficulties. I wonder if we could manage to work something out regardless. Well as long as you have your fun. That's what really counts! :)
<website> Have you checked your guestbook lately? ;)

My beloved sorceress has just today achieved the title Dame Perky. I am so proud of her.

Also, I have been reminded how happy I am that my mother decided to swap the proportions of sour cream an cream cheese in her cheesecake recipe. Oh so good.

XenaTrek> <<in Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada), we woke up to a bright orange day, due to some kind of dust in the air and was told to stay indoors until it cleared up>>: Hmm. the New Jersey atmosphere must be migrating.

Welcome back Niamhgold.

Kyryn> <<The average college student will change his/her major at least once during college>>: I officially did that, but it had been my plan from the beginning. They don't like people coming in as five year students.

Winterwolf> Yup, gside. Forgot to capitalize, but I doubt battle.net cares.

Warpmind> time zone calculations: Yes, but how about when all us crazy college students are on, about oneish or twoish. Or, if you are my exroomie (jinxx), three straight twenty four hour streches in a row every couple months.
Oh yes, read your latest, still wondering how you are going to pull off these resurrections.

Doug> <<Good quote from Adams>>: Not exactly a quote, but still amusing. The bit in the book started when they didn't recognize the name "Richard Bell" on an envelope because it lacked its trademarked shape. Probably was mostly a jab at Stephen King.

DPH> <<I carry a pair of scissors with me to work>>: I carry two swiss army knives wherever I go. Probably a concealed weapon, but I've never gotten into trouble.

Happy birthday Mara.

Once again, I plague....er, GRACE you, with my presence.

Napster decision: Of course I hate it. This is all a real grey area for me. I don't think it's as cut and dry as the judge has made it out to be. Yes, Napster is essentially a form of pirating, but then again, is it really that different than taping a song off the radio or making dubs of a cd that a friend has let you borrow? I know that, here in D.C., the local rock station has a show on Sunday evenings called "Seven CD Sides", in which they will play half of an album for 7 chosen cds. Hell, one week they played half of Creed's "Human Clay" album, and the next they played the other half. Bang, I have the whole Creed album on tape, and I didn't have to pay one cent.
Still, I'm sad to see Napster go. If this was really all about protecting copyrights and not just about record studio greed, maybe I'd feel a little differently. But that's all it is. It's just the record companies scared to death that they won't have a stranglehold on the way we listen to music. You think artists make money from studios? Ask Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. He doesn't give a damn if Napster has his songs, because he's said in numerous interviews that the studios pay dick to the artists. It's the touring that counts. But whatever. Napster is dead. It just means that the rest of us 'net geeks will have to head over to one of the other sites. I think I heard of a new one today--Scour.com. Gonna try that one out.
Oh, and to Lars Ulrich: Be thankful people still want to steal you music, bitch.

TGS "recruitment": I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I still don't get the arguments against recruiting from THIS room. Like others, like Pat, said, I think you'd be hard pressed to find more dedicated workers for the series than in this room. And I don't really see how that would "deplete" the audience. And I don't know what the stigma is on this room. What, just because this is a TGS discussion room, suddenly somebody might have a conflict of interest? I think the recurring criticism of this room is that TGS isn't discussed *enough* in here. I don't get it. But maybe it's just me not understanding things again. Whatever.

Gargoyles Casting: If they ever did a movie....which, unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever see, at least not in my lifetime....I'd love to see how they cast the film. Of course, the usuals would have to portray the clan. However, I wouldn't go with Salli Richardson for Elisa. It's blasphemous for me to say, but.....she would not sell the movie to the mass public. I like the suggestion of Thandie Newton. She might be a decent Elisa. Of course, with our luck, they'd probably cast Halle Berry. In a bad wig.
As for casting Bluestone....Watch the first (and unfortunately last) season of the old Fox show "Strange Luck". D.B. Sweeney IS the real-life, flesh-n'-blood incarnation of Steve Bluestone.
I'd like to know who'd they'd cast as Owen. Brent Spiner, perhaps? How about Macbeth? What about Sevarius? Hmm....

***ENTERTAINMENT STUFF***
I think Tim Roth must have hit his head very hard recently and damaged it somehow. Cause it appears as if he's going to sign on to the cast of the Tim Burton remake of "Planet of the Apes". I'm with you, Robby. Harry Potter is a film franchise waiting to happen. Planet of the Apes is a disappointment waiting to happen. Now, I'm not necessarily against a remake....I just do not think there's enough interest for one.
No word yet on what role Roth will play if he does sign, but it could be that of Dr. Zaius. Also, Michael Clarke Duncan, from the Green Mile, has been cast as one of the "good" apes.

In other news, one of my favorite all time shows is going to return anew to network television. The show "In Search Of..." will be revived and begin airing on the Fox Network this fall. Anyone remember that show? It was the coolest! They would do shows on all the cool paranormal stuff like Atlantis, or the real Dracula, or Egyptian tombs. And they did it all with the deep, often-creepy voice of Leonard Nimoy narrating. I believe they still run the old eps on A& E or the Discovery channel....anyway, they'll be bringing the show back, and the folks who made the Blair Witch Project will be producing it. No doubt that fact may upset some of you, but I think it adds to the show--the BWP, if nothing else, had one long and rich mythology set around it. If the BWP creative team is going to put that much work into a mythology that doesn't really exist, I'm confidant that they'll treat the old myths and legends with respect as well.

And finally, some GREAT Joe Michael Straczynski news! JMS was at the Comic-con this week, and he let slip some cool stuff he's getting into. If you haven't heard, he's producing his own imprint of comics, published by Top Cow (which itself is run by Image). The flagship title is his truly stunning book, "Rising Stars"....which JMS has just stated he's been hired to write the screenplay for. I'm drooling with anticipation to see a live-action Poet utterly mop the floor with a live-action Flagg.....
Also, JMS, being the fan-friendly guy that he is, has decided to really give his loyal supporters their money's worth. He's going to publish UNPRODUCED scripts for his canceled Babylon 5 spinoff show "Crusade" on the website Bookface.com. Click on my name to go there. It's a cool site--you can download books for free! He's already stuck some scripts up there right now. But the best is yet to come--he's currently writing a novel that will be posted on Bookface.com for FREE. Utterly free. Take that, Stephen King.

Okay, now I'm more coherent ... **kisses Mara-ko** Then again ... ;)

XenaTrek: Ouchie ... sounds almost like the storm that hit us at 6 this morning ... I kinda sensed it, but it didn't wake me up (the thunder's kinda hard to ignore when it shakes the entire house. ;).

Welcome back Niamhgold.

Christine: Coolies! New novel! The mind simply boggles ... :)

DPH: That goes into a discussion I had with XenaTrek a few days ago ... TNT showed the movie "Race Against Time," a sci-fi flick with Eric Roberts and Cary Elwes whose main gimmick was that all ... and I mean *all* ... of the backdrops were CGI (the actors were all filmed before a green screen). The topic came up, is it cheaper to film green-screens and put the backgrounds in later, or to build sets? XenaTrek's answer is it's to build sets because they're about even, however the cost of computer generating the backdrops is slightly higher.

Well, that's it for me tonight ... :) **goes back over to Mara-ko's side, helping her celebrate her birthday**

Ahem.
Pleased to announce that Dark of the Elvenwood has definitely arrived in time for the Gathering! We had two boxes sent to the hotel just in case, and the rest are now piled in the entryway of our house. I hope those of you attending the con will honor me by coming to my Friday afternoon reading!

In other weirdness, click for something to once more prove people have WAY too much time on their hands ... ; )

Entity>"But the thing is, all of this stuff could help me as a writer, but not to get a job" This probably didn't come through in my post, but I meant for you to get your training as an economist, a pundit, a psycologist, a historian, a computer programmer, etc. Some colleges (mine for example) won't let you graduate without taking a certain number of courses not realated to your major, you could take various english classes at that time. Then you can apply what you have learned in those feilds in the workplace as well as your writing. You may even find that your job includes writing, say if you were a proffessor, wrote a column in a newspaper or journal, or produced propaganda for the government or a political party/candidate. Isaac Asimov started his career as an author writing the textbooks he wanted for his chemistry class.

Hmm. At last things are somewhat normal at work.

**ANIMATION vs Live Action Topic**
Which is cheaper: a computer-animated movie or a live action movie with lots of special effects? Which one will look better?

greetings, good sentients!
Apparently my sentiment of Mr Duchovny as Bluestone has been generally rejected (thinking back, I understand why...) and my sentiment of Goliath and Elisa's species has been echoed. Ah, well. A wise sentient once said, "You win some, you lose some."

Emambu>> I personally wish to go see Politicalfest, but fear I will not have the chance. with luck, it will not be a one-time-only event.

**RP HERE- WARNING**

In his Atlanta office, Ted Turner hangs up the phone and then looks at Geoffrey Fieger and Steve Case as they walk into the room. "The Justice Department wants to see us about the merger," the latter says. "Do you have time for that today?" Turner nods. "I've made time for it, it's very important to our plans. By the way, that was Lord Cromwell on the phone just now. It seems Paisley has been eliminated by the Catholic Schoolgirl Scouts." "Oh great," Fieger grimaces. "His Orange Order was going to be shock troops for us." "It is no problem," Turner shrugs. "Geraldine, Omar, Maxine, and Al are out looking for new shock troops for us, which we should have soon. I've also ordered Socks and Buddy to go after the Scouts, they have revenge issues. As for those Ravens who discovered our plans, Lord Gothmenes has assured me his demons are after them. And in the meantime we have new orders." "What are those orders?" Case asks, and Turner begins to reply. In another location, a glowing purple gateway opens and three figures step out- Pastor John Gould in the lead holding the leash of a hellhound, with Bishop Galante and Jerry Bennet behind him. "Alright, you two," John snaps. "We have our orders. I hope you can trash you Pope-worshippers to remember who's in charge." "We're demons now, John," Galante retorts. "Just like you. I don't think that's a worry." "Yeah, it isn't," Jerry growls in agreement. "Besides, we want revenge on the Ravens too. And our fat will be in the Pit of Fire for all eternity just as much as yours if we fail, so we're motivated to succeed." "Good," John smiles. "Now let's go over the plan again. I'll pursue the Ravens while you guys head for Beaumont and Houston, Texas. Recruit any old enemies of Doug Elder and Kitainia Telman's old enemies you can find there, if any still remain alive. Give them demonic powers, then come to meet me with them and the Githyanki platoon Queen Valerian gave us in tow. I'll meet you wherever the Ravens are." "Got it," Jerry nods. "It shall be done," agrees Galante. The two demons then disappear while Pastor John kicks the hellhound in the side and pulls angrily on its leash. "Alright boy," he orders while it barks in protest, "find the Ravens." The demon dog barks, sniffs the ground, and then takes off running. John sprouts wings and hurries to keep up.

The screen image changes to the Underground City beneath Ankara, where Gubio, Erin, Mist, and Terrell have just been attacked by Dao the evil genie. Buffeted and swept around by his wind attacks, the foursome is unable to even call out to one another, let alone draw weapons and strike back. Laughing, Dao keeps up the barrage, concentrating on Erin and Gubio. This allows Terrell to roll aside quickly and draw a sword, which he causes to flare with electricity via a switch on the side. Then, giving vent to a mighty roar, he charges the genie's flank and strikes. "Ow!" Dao screeches, spinning around to face him. "That pricked me!" Terrell snarls and then lashes out again, sparking a wound in Dao's side. The genie seems only slightly injured, but the distraction is enabling Gubio, Mist, and Erin to stand up and draw their own weapons. "That's some nice electricity you got there!" Dao yells at the caiveh warrior, ignoring them. "But it can't compare to this!" With that he makes a gesture and lightning sparks down from overhead, hitting Terrell dead-on. Roaring in pain, he falls over and slumps to the ground unconscious. "Ooh!" Dao cheers. "Direct hit!" "MRRROWWW!!!" Mist roars, firing her chaingun into his side and knocking the genie back as he spins around and tries to block the shots with a mystical forcefield. "How do we stop this thing?" Gubio asks Erin, grimacing as their shots also bounce off the shield. Dao makes another gesture and lightning falls again, this time striking Mist. The cat screams as its fur goes completely black and then falls back and hits the wall, falling unconscious. Laughing, Dao crosses his arms and then moves in on Gubio and Erin, throwing around more wind barrages. "I don't know how we kill him!" Erin shouts as they are tossed around. "I've only had to fight a genie once before. Then I took control of him by grabbing his lamp! I don't see any lamp around here though." "I don't either," Gubio grimaces. "Great!" "My lamp is in a safe place, mortals!" Dao laughs. "You can't get it and control me! You will die!" "Maybe not!" Erin snaps back as a wind barrage knocks her into a wall. She grimaces and stands up, shoving a ring off her finger as she does so. "Lloky! Help!" There is a flash of light as the ring hits the floor and Lloky appears in human form. "Yes?" she looks at Erin, who points at the genie. Dao frowns and raises his eyebrows. "A-a dragon? Master didn't say anything about a dragon!" "These are my friends, pal!" Lloky snaps in reply, transforming into dragon form and growling at him. "Hurting them was a big mistake!" Roaring, she charges the genie with nostrils ablaze. The screen fades out as he scrambles to retreat.

**NEXT TIME- GENIE VS. DRAGON. FOR NOW, END RP**

Hi everyone. Good to be back in here. Thanks to those who gave welcome. The trip went well, for those of you who are wondering. Like Kit said, there were no arguments between our families and we had a good time. Mom and Enzo were a little dismayed by all the problems our car had, but there were no major problems over them and they're getting fixed right now by the local Volvo dealer (hopefully the starter deal is going to be good to go permanently this time <fingers crossed>). All in all, it was a great visit. Still, it's good to be back here and seeing you all again. :) Things are going okay right now, my security guard job has me working the graveyard shift for the next four nights but otherwise no major hassles. As far as fanfic goes, I'm doing my best to get work done on "Losses," but it's taking a while thanks to all the time commitments in my way (job, errands, sleeping, etc.). Lack of motivation is also an occasional problem, hope to get more feedback soon from readers so it stops being an issue. If you owe it to me, please get it in soon. Currently, I have three scenes in the story finished, fifteen left. This story is going to concentrate mainly on Demona and Seth, but the rest of the main characters will also be featured, and many of the changes they and Manhattan have undergone since the Night of the Symbiotes will be detailed. Still not sure when it will be out, but I hope to get it done before classes start up again on August 28th.

SJ: Sentinels in the next X-Men movie? Hmm, wonder how the effects department will deal with that. Twenty-foot mutant-hunting robots vs. our human-size heroes was easily worked in animation and comics, but in live-action? We'll see what happens. Hope they'll also be dealing with Wolverine's past. As for Rogue getting "pumped-up," I wouldn't mind that if only because it could make for some interesting character development. Might also be fun to see Anna Paquin kicking a little ass. <grin> I too am glad Buffy's been nominated for some Emmys (hope it gets them) and I agree with you about X-Files. I too hope the show ends soon, and am a little disappointed Bruce Campbell didn't get the part as Scully's new partner. Oh well, Robert Patrick's character seems interesting in its own right, I look forward to seeing how it develops and turns out.

Katara: Glad the Comic-Con went well, and congrats on meeting Greg. He's a great guy, isn't he? Hope that you and Crzy didn't drive him too nuts. :) Also thanks for letting us know what went on at the convention, it was very interesting to read about. :)

Christine: <moment of silence> Sorry you lost your Grandmother, good luck dealing with the loss. Like you said, at least her suffering's over now. But as we all know, that never makes mourning any easier. <sighs> Hope Dark of the Elvenwood arrives safely, so Kit and I can order a copy and read it soon.

Janine: Finding a companionable mate can be easy or difficult depending on the people involved. Hope that finding yours isn't too difficult a process, and good luck. I know from personal experience loneliness is no picnic and therefore hope you get out of it soon. Congratulations on clearing your head.

Joe: Welcome back, glad you're doing alright and have more free time now. Hope it stays that way for at least a while. Good luck with your senior year.

Welcome to Ray, RAM, equation, and all newcomers. Hope y'all enjoy this place.

Kyryn: Yeah, this car had lousy timing all right. That was what the dealer found was causing the starter trouble, difficulty getting fuel to the engine through the filters. This, after we spent nearly $1200 on a new alternator and getting it tuned up on the advice of other mechanics and not seeing much of a change in the problem. Hope they weren't committing false repairs. <sighs> The car should be fixed tomorrow, at low cost this time around. Thanks for your wishes of good luck.

Daphne: You're welcome. <Duchovny as Matt Bluestone> Can't see it happening, Duchovny probably wouldn't agree to it nor would he look right in the part IMO for the reasons Zath mentioned. I can see why you'd have the idea he'd make a good Bluestone though. Personally if I had to put Duchovny in the movie, I'd cast him as Travis Marshall. They look and act more alike.

Jannie: Very glad that the operation went well, I was praying for you. Sorry it had to happen and make you miss the Gathering, but at least you're healthy and feeling better now. :) Hope you can read this soon, if not I'd appreciate it if someone (like Jenna) would give you the message. I pray you'll recover speedily, and promptly be back in the room. :)

Niamhgold: That Da Vinci machine is indeed incredible, I've heard about it too. Glad your friend had a nice wedding and it didn't keep you away too long. Welcome back.

Female Brooklyn: Congrats on the new dog, hope it makes a responsible member of your family and not a nuisance. :) Glad that you enjoyed the Patriot and X-Men.

Taleweaver: Thanks for the advice, I hope many of my fellow writers and readers will read and heed it. I agree with you 100% about bad writing (always drives me nuts when I see it published and bought by many people too). Glad you enjoyed Spaceballs, it is indeed a cult classic that deserves all its fame. (Favorite part- "He shot my hair!!" <massacre>)

David G: I remember you. Heh. Thanks for the good bit on utopia, and welcome back.

SOROW: Congrats to your brother on his wedding, hope it's a happy marriage. Sorry that your life temporarily went sour, hope that doesn't happen again for at least a while. May your road be easier and your happiness in better supply. :)

Emmabu: Good job handling the cat situation, I feel your pain about it having to die though. <sigh> Hope that it will at least be easy and painless when it comes. :( Glad your college orientation went well. Looking forward to your feedback soon, hope you will explain the Redwall reference you caught but I did not. Good luck having fun at the Democratic Convention. :)

Green Baron: Sorry your mother threw you out, but at least you're happier away from her (so you said). Thanks for keeping us updated on your life, hope you can come back in here again soon.

Entity: Sorry I can't recommend any good writing colleges, my own skills are pretty much self-taught though I have taken a few creative writing courses with good instructors. Good luck to you in honing your own writing skills, I might read the results when they come out. :)

Mary: Another rape? <angry growl> Hope they catch the guy who did it soon, I'll be praying. Hope they catch the other rapist soon too, people like that shouldn't be out on the streets walking around nonchalantly. Thanks for keeping us updated on what's going on, hope bad situations don't hit close to home again. <fingers crossed>

Archwolf: Mid-November release for Winter's Heart? That's good, looking forward to it. Thanks for letting us know it was on the way.

Mandi: Happy Birthday. Good to be 21, isn't it? :) Also welcome back. Thanks for wishing Kit a happy birthday (same goes to everyone else who did).

RAM: I too am looking forward to Season 3 of the main TGS series. I'm confident it will come out soon like Todd said. Hope it has good stories when it does. Welcome to the CR.

Stephen King: I too like the guy's work, though I haven't been reading it much of late. But I am also among the many who don't appreciate his hypocrisy when it comes to Big Publishing. They helped him become the phenomenon he is, and now he's acting like he's sticking it to them. Unfortunate. They probably snubbed him on royalty checks or something. <sigh> Not admirable, and neither are many things about Big Publishing, but still IMO they don't deserve the treatment King is giving them. Hope he eases off soon. In any case, I'm going to wait and see how many installments of his new novel there are (and if it's any good, some of his work, such as The Regulators, hasn't been that great at all in my opinion even if other books have been excellent) before I pick it up.

Gside: Publishers hate long last names? Then how do you explain the success of authors like Clive Cussler, PT Deutermann, Nelson DeMille, Eric Lustbader, RA Salvatore, and Troy Denning? They all have many books published (that are mostly great in my opinion), and long names. Good quote from Adams, but I don't think it applies in real life (thank the Lord above! If it did, I'd probably never have read all the above great authors. :).

Warpmind: A quarter of the world's population? That's some body-count alright. I'm not anywhere close to it myself (though my fanfics do have a large one currently and will have an immense one if I ever get done :).

That's all for now, must get back to writing so I can get at least another scene done before having to leave for work tonight. I'll be back as soon as I can, with more comments (no movie review though, nothing of interest to me is coming out this week. Nothing except Nutty Professor 2 in fact, and I wouldn't be caught dead seeing that). Later everyone, hope things stay cool and all our lives go well.

**BACK TO RP NOW**

The screen comes on again, this time displaying the Ravens staring at Doug as he grimaces, having just asked Tom, Leah, and Mansfield if he ever worked with Thailog. "Who told you Thailog was your friend, Doug?" Kit asks again. "You must know that's not true." "I…" Doug gulps, then nods. "Yes, I know it wasn't. I, I just had to be sure." "You had to be sure?" Stephanie gapes. "For the love of God, man, what is wrong with you?" "He lost his memory, remember?" Lathrop replies. "Obviously Thailog found out and is trying to take advantage of it." "That's exactly right," Doug nods. "That's what my instinct tells me anyway. The guy I talked to said it was you guys taking advantage of my amnesia, but I didn't think that was true." "Like hell it's true," Jammer growls. "We wouldn't do that to a friend." "No indeed," says Boris. "I'm surprised you believed this guy for a minute." "Well," Doug frowns, "he was a little convincing." "But he was lying, Doug," Kit says, walking forward and taking his hand. "You're on our side, you've always been on our side. We're trying to help you. Did he offer any help restoring your memory or did he just say we were your enemies?" Doug frowns. "The second thing." "See?" Keith says. "He didn't have your best interests at heart, we do. We're your friends. Trust us." "Yeah, Doug," Tom says. "You were really scaring me when you asked if you worked for Thailog." "Yeah," Elena agrees. "I heard and called the others. You scared me too, and that's not easy." "In any case, you don't work for Thailog," Leah says. "You never have. I should know, I was on his side, once. Now, as you know, I'm not, I'm on yours." Kit frowns and looks at her. "Are you?" "Yeah," Leah nods. "You can trust me, both of us in fact. Right, Bobby?" Mansfield nods. "Yeah. We aren't trying to turn your pal Doug to our side, are we? Tom here can vouch for us too."

Kit looks at Tom, who nods, and then shrugs. "Alright, fine," she says. "We'll trust you two for now." She sighs and looks back at Doug. "Who was trying to turn you to Thailog's side? If he's still on the base and we can find him…" Doug frowns. "It was some guy named Jerec. I met him in the main barracks bathroom." "Jerec?" Tricia's eyes widen. "The Dark Jedi?" "Dark Jedi?" Doug repeats, grimacing as the Ravens look startled. "What's a 'Dark Jedi?'" "A bad guy who uses psychic energies called the Force to do terrible things," Kit replies. "That's the basics anyway." "They're known for deception too," adds Lathrop. "They always want to turn people to their side of things." "Okay," Doug shrugs. "Then maybe this guy was bad news. He said he and I had disagreed though, that he was here to tell me the truth." "He wasn't," Kit says. "Why don't you believe that?" "Yeah, Doug," Stephanie growls. "Do we need to track this guy down and make him fess up to make you see we're your friends?" "I believe you're my friends," Doug insists. "It's just…" He sighs. "I'm confused." "Then let's find Jerec and un-confuse you," suggests Jammer. "You said he was in the main barracks bathroom? We'll start there." "We'll need something if we're to confront him," Orion points out. "Last time we got pretty bad. I'll go ask Agent Rho if he has what we need on base." He turns and runs off. "What's he getting?" Doug asks. "I don't know," Kit says. "Guess we'll find out soon. Tom, you and these two prisoners stay here. Everyone else, spread out and look for Jerec." "We want to help you!" Leah insists. "Can't we…" "Maybe later!" Kit cuts her off. "We can't trust you for now." She turns away from Leah and Tom's glares and looks back at the Ravens. "Look everywhere you can. If you find Jerec, engage him and keep him distracted. Hit your panic button, we'll rush to help. Doug, you stay with Lathrop and me." "Ah, alright," Doug nods. Kit takes his hand and they head out, many of the Ravens exchanging glares with Leah and Mansfield as they pass by. Tom gives vent to a heavy sigh as he watches them go. "I'm really sorry, guys," he says to the two commandos. "I know we can trust you, but…" "It's okay," Leah interrupts. "We'll have to find some way to prove ourselves, I guess. Hope one comes soon." "Me too," agrees Mansfield. "By the way, could I take a quick restroom break?" "Alright," Tom says, pointing to a door nearby. "Don't be gone too long, it's over there." Mansfield nods his thanks, then gets up and walks towards the door as the screen's image fades out.

Hey all,

College> Thanks for all your advice, kathy, Cyborg, Kyryn, and Niamhgold. I have to admit I'm not very keen on taking an intermission before going to college. It seems too risky. The suggestions of taking courses in history, politics, economy, etc. to gain a knowledge-base make sense. In most cases, authors do need to be omniscient, or pretty close to it. But the thing is, all of this stuff could help me as a writer, but not to get a job. I don't want to come off shallow, but while I do want to grow as a writer, I'm also majorely insecure about the nature of the field. Maybe that's not a good combination. :)

Napster> Here's a recent thing that's managed to annoy me. I read an article about the reactions of Napster users in response to the court ruling. When the article referred to individuals like Eminem or Dr. Dre, the tone of the sentence was perfectly professional, they got their names hyperlinked, etc. But when the article began to quote Napster uses, it put their names (like coolo85 and so forth) in quotes, obviously emphasizing them to discredit them.

For anyone who sides against Napster, click on my name for a fairly decent article that outlines every way in which Napster is justified in existing. Read it carefully, though, because the article is somewhat conservative in its presentation of the arguments.

One thing I forgot (sorry for the double post): There is a guy in my driver's ed. class that has been really nice to me. Me, Miss. Oblivious, just thought he was being friendly. Now I realize that he is probably flirting with me. What do I do? Is not saying that I have a boyfriend first thing 'leading him on', or should I wait and see, or just wait for the subject to come up? I never know what to do in these situations.

Warpmind>"If you think it always sounds stupid when you sign a guestbook... maybe you're a bit too much of a critic?" That could be, just ask Brooklyn, but I feel that its more me unable to express what I mean properly (though I am making progress).

Entity (re: major)> You could major in something that would help with your writing because it uses the same ideas as what you would write. For most fiction, that would involve mostly psychology but also history (as Niamhgold pointed out), economics, or politics. If you want to go into a specific genre, major in things like history (again?), and religion or folk legends for fantasy, or in one of the sciences for science fiction. For example, W. Gibson (Neuromancer, Johnny Mnemonic) has a background in computers.

Kyryn>"The average college student will change his/her major" I'm going onto number three (or is it four?) this fall (knock on wood).

Au revoir

Well I've been lurking for a while now and now it's time to speak.
First off, TGS staff debate- I understand what Todd is say by looking for outside help for writing. More hands can help lighten a load, but it's important to remember whose hands they are. When Todd mentioned an Arthurian group that made a lot of sense. Acurarcy has always been an important of both TGS as was the show. The thing to keep in mind though (and I mean everyone) is that TGS is non profit. If your heart is not in the work then you really have business heading a project. Helping is something different. For example Todd could have gone to that group and asked them questions about, what ever and taken notes. That alone would be a major contrabution even if they thought a Gargoyle was just a "glorified rain spout."
Everyone following me here? (who's reading this that is)

I myself am a artist who is in college and I do my own writing on the side. If I sat around and waited for someone to come and ask me to help I'd honestly probably be waiting forever. That's why I thought the recruitment drive was a good idea. You present some of your work, a small bio, similar to a job interview but in a more relaxed set. Like I said earlier, they do this for free. Well I was just trying to express everyone's viewpoint and not take a side, because I partially understand what y'all go through.

Kyryn- Well so far I haven't changed my major, but it's definetly going to be a bumpy road ahead.

*Warpmind enters, angry and wielding a large calculator.*
Okay, I just found the latest calculations...

*WARNING: ALCOHOL TAXATION RANT!*
As you may know, Norway has the highest special tax level known to man. Precisely how bad it is, just changed... keep in mind that one Norwegian crown roughly equals 1/7 to 1/8 US Dollar. This calculation is for one bottle of Whiskey; a rough average.

Cost from Arcus (presumably the import company): 28.49 crowns.
Profit margin at the vendor: 11.57 crowns.
State alcohol tax: 197.12 crowns.
Regular sales tax: 54.55 crowns.
Container (the bottle itself): 0.28 crowns.
Bottle refund: 2.50 crowns.

This all adds up to the grand total of 294.51 crowns - more than ten times the cost at the import company... with these figures in mind, I shall do my best to speed the Nereus Project on this side of the Atlantic. Wilek, make haste, will ya?
*END RANT. IT IS SAFE NOW.*

Gside: Here's the time deal: Norway is between six and eight hours ahead of the US, depending on location in the US. When it's 1800 hours in Norway, it's noon in New York, and 1000 hours in LA, unless I miss my mark. So, when it's late evening at your location (when is when you'll be playing, I presume), it's *really* early in the morning here. And, undoubtedly, just after the time when phone rates go up from their night-time low again. :( As for the Project A-ko thing, well... I'll see what I can dig up. It was a full feature, not a TV-show length cartoon, so... :|

Hmmm... not much to comment on now, so I guess I'll just upload my latest fic to the archive... Yep, I've finished my twenty-second episode in my ongoing series. Needless to say, the clan is getting constantly smaller... scratch three canon characters and one original... :| Out of sheer curiosity, is there *any* fanfic author out there who is even near my total bodycount? (About 1/4 of Earth's population so far...)

See y'all later.

Entity> Actually, tech writing doesn't mean that you have to have a great knowledge of a specific subject. A lot of the time it is like website design. You get handed a bunch of stuff and are told, "Put it together so that anyone reading it can understand it and make it interesting."

BTW, folks, something to remember> The average college student will change his/her major at least once during college.

I'm back!

My plane came in late last night, so I held off on a post until today :) And, looking at the room, it seems a lot happened since I was gone!

Napster: Oh, for cripes sake! How can they do this to me _now_? :(

Jenna: Since I know Jannie might not get to a computer for a few days, I'm going to send her and Dennis my prayers via you. I'm glad things have gone well, and I hope she recovers in record time! :) ** Hands jenna a virtual bouquet of lilies and roses to help Jannie feel better ** Smiles! ^_^

Stephen: ** Reads his post ** Oh, man...I'm truly sorry. I, too, am glad you are separating amicably...although it does make my heart ache. ** Hugz **

Emambu: Congrats on your placement :) Aren't the SATs easy? I was so surprised!

Entity: I'd have to agree with Kathy...if you get the opportunity to take a year off from college, try it. Writers need a wealth of experience, a well of inspiration. Also, you might want to major in something like history or such, since many writers need a _huge_ knowledge of case precedents :) For me, picking the school I wanted to go to was the hardest, since picking art as a major was a last-minute choice. My teachers and parents thought I was semi-nuts because I had shown proficiency in chemistry and economics (wouldn't they have _loved_ it if I had worked on Wall Street). But I decided for myself that art was something I would be *happy* with. Besides, in a way, it combines all the knowledge I have in other places, and the SATs don't cover art as a possibly successful field ]:)

Methinks that be all! :)

Adios!

Entity > That's a tough one. Have you considered taking an aptitude test to see what else you might be good at? Or since broad experience is helpful in building a wider world view, (a good thing for a writer to have) have you considered taking some time off before college to see the world? Maybe do some volunteer work in some off the beaten path place? You could write about your experiences and submit the articles or stories for publication. Maybe you will find that you earn enough to support yourself (or not). Either way, you'll probably learn something about yourself and that's always useful information.

Good luck.

Good morning! Just a quick post... kinda of a weird night last night at the lightning capital of the world... just as the sun was setting the sky suddenly became bright yellow, then bright orange, bright purple and then darkness... the only thing that came even close to that was the time while in Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada), we woke up to a bright orange day, due to some kind of dust in the air and was told to stay indoors until it cleared up. Also the lightning took out my cable box not once... but twice. Later.

Double post - sorry.

TGS recruits > While some of what they say about not wanting to deplete the readership makes sense, I'm not sure where the current TGS staff thinks it's going to find more people interested in helping keep the project going if they are going to totally disqualify offhand everyone in the group that regularly follows TGS and has the most passion for it. It seems to me it'd be less problematic taking on a few people who've been longtime followers who have the drive and desire to help produce more stories and art than taking on recruits from the disinterested masses who are there just because someone hounded them to join up. The best stuff to come out of TGS when I was on staff during seasons 1 and 2 was always from the former group, and rarely the latter.

Also, speaking to the staff now specifically here... if the staff is too small to support the workload, maybe it's time to scale back the scope of what you're trying to accomplish. If you are realistic with your planning and communicate the status of things effectively (rather than everything always being indefinite), you'd probably get a lot fewer of these "I want new eps!" posts and e-mails.

Just my two cents.

Only 8 days left until The Gathering!

Attention Napster users... you've got ONE more day left to complete your collections. A federal judge has issued an injunction and ordered that they must shut down the service until the case brought by the music industry giants goes to trial. So for good or bad, it's back to the old way of collecting MP3's... mindless hours searching the dark corners of the web for stashes hidden on private servers.

Warpmind> <<I'd have to play sometime in the middle of the night>>: Who says we wouldn't be doing just that over here, expecially when I get back to my beloved ethernet.
<<There are three more parts? AGH!>>: Well, if you saw only B-Ko in the battle suit (I am not sure if I will ever purge my memory of that disturbing image (I am referring to the other who wore the suit, B-Ko looks just fine in it)), there's more out there.

Fire Storm> <<How do you find Gargoyles fans interested in writing about TGS who are not readers of TGS?>>: I'd reccommend putting a notice on the submit page of the fanfic area of gargfans.

Time for another roatation in my ecclectic choice of mp3s. This time I choose a more somber piece, Let the Night Fall by The Band. Plus, if you ignore the connotations of the title and chorus, it could be applied to the gargoyles universe (rather like another of thiers I put up, Twilight).

*Emambu strolls in wearing a long sleeve Pittsburgh Panther shirt, and sweat pants*

Well, I got in about six hours ago, and I think I've finally sorted through the ton of information I've received about U of Pitt. It was a fun three days. The best part about it, other than the cultural experience, was that I only had to take one placement exam. I thought I was going to have to take exams for English, Math, Spanish, and Computer Science. However, I placed out of Spanish becuase I passed an AP Spanish class in High School, I placed out of Math because my SAT I and II scores were both above 600, and I placed out of Computer Science because my high school scores were good enough that I automatically got to skip the intro courses. I don't know how they came to that conclusion, but I'm not complaining. :) So, let's see what happened while I was away...

Entity: Brown University was the first college that came to mind. You can practically make your own major over there if you want. However, they are selective. As for colleges in Ohio... I have no idea, sorry.

Mary: This is awful. I've been out of the loop for a little while, and I hope that within that time they were able to catch the creep who did it. I will wish for your safety.

Mandolin: Despite the sunburn, it seems like you had a good time. Welcome back.

Jannie: I extend my wishes of safety to you as well. I hope everything goes without a hitch. If it's any comfort, my grandmother went through a bypass surgery and she pulled through. Be strong.

Rodlox, Doug, and Kit: Welcome back! Honestly, I didn't know you left. Although that could be because I was preparing to leave too.

Happy belated birthdays to Kitainia and Mandolin! Hope they were special :)

*Emambu takes time out of his post to give a friendly wave to R.MacD, Abbadon_13, and Skyrender* Welcome to the CR!

Doug: Expect comments on your story "Comatose" soon. Just one thing though: I really liked the little bit of homage that you paid to "Redwall." :)

Sevarius Jr: ROTFL! :)

Stephen: That's rough, but I am glad to see that you're still putting the needs of your child first, so don't be too hard on yourself. No matter what, you're a good parent because of this.

TGS Staff: Please don't turn a blind eye to this forum just because you're afraid it will erode your audience. There are some very talented writers here who are chomping at the bit to write epsiodes for season 3, and you guys say that you're understaffed so... problem solved, at least partly. Note, I'm not yelling or criticizing. I'm only giving a thought.

Christine: Innocent bystanders, schminnocent bystanders. A showdown between the creator of "Gargoyles" and one of its most talented fan fic writers will be fun for the whole family. ...As long as we stay out of the crossfire. :)

Janine, Cyborg, and Kitainia: Thanks for the advice. After I got back from Pittsburgh, I called up the owner. basically I combined all three of your ideas and it seemed to help. I cut right to the chase (no beating around the bush), explained exactly what happened, showed him the results that I got back from the vet, and then offered to drive him up for a re-test. He thanked me, but I could tell from his eyes that it looked like he was going to break down right in front of me and cry, not that I could blame him. Anyway, we took the cat back to get re-tested, but barring a miracle the results are going to come out the same as last time. Furthermore, the cat has now gone deaf in the few days that I was gone. It won't respond to any type of sound anymore, only sight and smell. I'm fearing the worst, and it's breaking my heart to have to watch this. Still, I want to thank you three for you help. *Gives all three of them a quick hug*

Well, I'm off. I have to prepare for the big Republican convention that starts in a few days in Center City. Personally, I'm a moderate Democrat but the last time a convention like this rolled through Philadelphia, it was 1945 so there's no way I'm going to miss it. Daphne, I hope you decide to join in on the fun too. :)

My brother and I managed to conjure up a pretty official looking reporter ID using my brother's old Xerox security ID, an exacto knife, and some scotch tape. Hopefully, we'll be able to conduct some "interviews" with the people standing around outside. Don't worry though, we're not going to try and get inside the building with it. I may be a bit nuts, but I'm not stupid enough to risk going to jail. :) Fortunately, most of the civilians outside won't bother to check reaalll closely. With any luck, I'll get some great stories. Take care everyone,

I will make this short because I really, really need to sleep. 17 days straight and I have to work this weekend. Thankfully, I am off next weekend. Is there a law anywhere limiting the number of days a person has to work straight without having a day off?

**Politics**
Greend Baron pointed me to a sight that I can take a simple test (Libertarian party) to determine where I fall politically. I fell Centrist, but I am not to sure about how close I am to either extreme. Can anyone tell me a spot that very accurately gages where people are politically?
**END POLITICS**

**DPH spots Miss Information in the room. "I have a present for you due to what you did to me at work." DPH summons a thunderbolt attack and no trace of Miss Information is found in the room.**

**RP RELATED**
For those of you interested, I will be catching up on the Speed Star threads during the Gathering and the week after. That means a lot of RP posts will be time-dated.

If anyone thinks that I am missing some small plot point in the BFTS RP, let me know. I do believe in following continuity, which is why DPH is finally grieving the loss of Connect.

In the other RP, is there anything scheduled to happen to the body of #9? I am just curious because, if there is not, I would like to be able to borrow the body during the RP crossover.
**END RP RELATED**

Welcome all newcomers, to the room of insa . . the CR room.

**BFTS RP continues**
DPH finally stopped crying. "I am ready. Jason, please the ring with Connect's powers on the body towards the center."

Jason complied. SOS, SuperSpeed, and DPH gathered in an equilateral triangle around Connect's body.

DPH said, "Jason stand in front of me."

Jason complied and SuperSpeed, SOS, and DPH started to cast the spell transfering all of Connect's powers to Jason Filler.
**END BFTS RP for now**
Will this transfer of powers cause any side effects for Jason Filler? Tune in next time to find out.

Man, this week's turnin' into one downer after another. But I gotta pipe in. Stephen, I feel for you, really. And I'll tell you exactly why ...

It sounds like your situation is vaguely similar to what happened between myself and XenaTrek ... for a long time we were extremely close, then eventually we drifted apart, not helped much by the distance created when I left college. Fortunately enough it was an amiable breakup ... a situation like yours, actually, we realized that we'd been becoming more and more like strangers to each other as time went by. We agreed together to end things, much like you and Andrea did. And now we're pretty much each other's closest *friend* ... not necessarily significant others, we can live without that. And in fact, Mara and XenaTrek get along really well (though sometimes XenaTrek wonders about the both of us ...), which was *the* biggest thing I worried about when I chose to enter into a relationship with Mara-ko, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't lose a close friend to gain a closer one.

My friend, we're here for ya, all of us. Have the other two hard bottles ... I'll keep ya company (sans alcohol for me, of course), and of course everyone else will. And you can make yourself a good life in Tampa ... even maybe finding someone else to not necessarily take Andrea's place (and certainly not Abbee's), but to offer companionship to ye.

ON RECRUITING PEOPLE - Well, first of all, we're not starting our recruitment drive just yet. Second, we don't steer clear of our TGS audience in general so much as those who post in this room. Most of this recruitment generally comes about through individuals on the staff recommending people whom they think would be good for it.

(As a side-note, I've considered at times recruiting staff members for the "Pendragon" portions of "Gargoyles" from an Arthurian newsgroup that I periodically visit, since there aren't too many people on TGS - other than myself, of course - who are that familiar with the Arthurian background for "Pendragon". However, I decided against it, partly because I wasn't certain just how many of them would be familiar with "Gargoyles", but more significantly when I noticed that the bulk of the discussion on the newsgroup was more over whether there had been a historical Arthur, and arguments over 5th and 6th century British history and archeology, than on the conventional legendary Arthur a la Camelot and the Round Table - and the King Arthur of "Gargoyles" is clearly the latter. So they might not have been the most appropriate recruits for such an activity).

Gasper> I had the same problem with a professor one year who was a misogynist. I was consistently turning in A quality work (as agreed by other professors) and getting Cs. Fortunately I was able to take my case to a departmental greivance board and get the grades changed. I hated that guy and he hated me, but since I was able to argue his grading policies against women and his gradebooks bore it out, I was able to win. I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you've had. (sigh) Part of the problem is always that writing is, by its very nature, a subjective work and many people interpret things differently.

I'll agree with you and Taleweaver though. Half of your college experience is finding stuff out for yourself. *grin* This also applies to most college experience and its use in the real world.

USC requiring an interview> Well, they didn't when I applied, but that was back in 1985-86 (showing my age here). Usually though, you don't need to go to the college for an interview. They can either do a phone interview, or find a rep/alumnus in the general area who will do that.

Hey Everybody - Comments on this and that...
Health and best wishes to those that need them. Happy birthday to all the July babies. Welcome back to all that have been away and Bon Voyage for all those who are traveling in the near future.

Stephen: That's tough. Best of luck in your transition.

Entity: Just a question but what kind of writing do you want to do? (Assuming you're shooting for a career as a professional novelist). It seems that the most credible writers have experience in something else that pays the bills. Just a thought, but you might want to major in an area that might get you a job when you graduate and take writing classes as your elective.

Stephen King - Uh, I quit reading this guy years ago, about the time I decided that his editors had given up trying to ride herd on him. Most of the books he wrote during the 80's could have had a giant pair of scissors taken to the middle of them and it wouldn't have made a lick of difference, IMHO.

That's it for me. See everyone who's going at The Gathering!

SEVARIUS JR. - We haven't held the recruitment drive yet because we want to wait until after we've completed Season Three Breakdowns for "Gargoyles" (which, fortunately, are almost done). We felt that new recruits coming on in the middle of a Breakdowns period might feel too confused and lost about it all.

Hello all. Summer's not even over and it's starting to get busy already. I'm so scared of my senior year, it's not even funny. Pretty soon, i'm not going to be able to spend any time with my friends and my best friend. *sigh*

Grinz> May this situation be quickly overcome.

Warpmind> Project A-Ko: If you (in the general sense) have broadmand, broadcast.com ahs parts two through four available for streaming download, though that tends not to be very good.
<<I'd be having to pay a preposterous charge, mainly due to the time zone difference>>: Unless your rates change drastically in off hours, that doesn't make much sense. Though who says our hours ar anywhere near normal.
Character> I tend to like the spell slingers, so I'd say Necro.

Entity> <<USC does require an interview, though. Meaning you've gotta fly out there, right?>>: MIT had me talk to a local alumnus. He helped derive equations for nonlinear capacitors. But that doesn't say anything about USC.

Zath> <<I'm basically taking anything that looks even remotely interesting>>: I'll have you know that everything I have taken so far has been requirement for either one of my majors, my minor, or one of my honors programs. The pressures of multiple majors...

Welcome Ray.

SRS Jr.> Best wishes for whatever will come of this.

Mrs. Morgan> <<Big Publishing spends all their money on folks like him and the other Big Names>>: I just remembered why you have been having problems getting published. Your last name is too long. Publishers like authors with whom (on the cover) they can have a short (height-wise) line with the first name, then a big honking font right underneath with the last name. (Credits for theory go to Douglas Adams, Long Dark Teatime of the Soul)

Winterwolf> <<That must be a painful sorceress to play>>: Yeah, it's starting to get annoying, but the early stuff won't be used again, and it is nice having all these different types of attacks available. Though I do like glacial spike (that was the one, plus the chain/spike +1 staff).
<<<level 25> You passed me in level but we are in the same area>>: Actually, only if you average out have I remembered my correct level both times you asked me. First I was too high, and this time I was too low. Though I have fianlly made it to Diablo's chamber today. And I decided I hate the Oblivian Knights (mages, quite resistant, and their bolts hurt).
<<I beat Andariel and Duriel without dying>>: Let me say this: $!@#.
<<We should get together sometime>>: I've tried /where-ing for you a couple times. Do you have any extra numbers/characters added on to your name?

Gasper looked at the face he dreamt about after her death. The face that was etched in his mind when he found her in the burning dormatory 2 years ago. But that was a lifetime away it seemed, as his aging had slowed and his brief travels through time had made it longer to him then to her. She wiped the last little trickle of blood from her mouth, and then wiped it on Gasper's jacket. He didn't cringe, just looked at her with sad eyes.
"Nice to see you again Beckers. I didn't think you'd come down here.... What with all the God Talk you used to give me."

Rebecca Sanders stood at about 5'9", wearing some shoddy clothes that had been torn and sewn back together many times over. He red hair was matted with dirt and blood, not having been washed for a time. She stared daggers at him now, like the few other times he'd made her angry.

"Well, it's your fault I'm here. I dont' know how, but if it wasn't for your friend Repike coming over, then maybe I'd be singing in the chorus with the angels...."

"REPIKE!" He yelled out in shock. "He....he did it to you...he was the one! I'LL RIP OUT HIS-"

"Ooh, what are you going to do, kill him with your incredibly dense skull? Or your shouting and lung capacity."

"Funny. So what was Riptide doing down here? I thought I sent him and Repike into the voi...nevermind, that's why. Well, seems to easy of a punishment to let him off like this." Rebecca sat on a stone by the pond where Gasper found them and began to wash her arms and hands.

"Oh you sent them down here Gasp, but you don't half the story. Your friend seems to like to play with his prey, and happened to do some nasty stuff which I won't even go into. After a little while...I just kinda woke up here." Gasper crossed his arms put a hand to his chin, playing with the light goatee he'd let grow out.

"The police said that you'd been stabbed 37 times. 36 of which was with the knife left to loosely frame me, and the 37th...well...they never found th...DAMN!"

"What Gasper, come upon another one of your ideas as to why I'm here?"

"HFIL daggers...but how could Repike have gotten his hand on one...."

Stephen--I'm sorry to hear that you and the missus are breaking up. Nothin' much I can say, other then I'm sorry to here, and hope that you are doing okay.

Kit, Congrats, if we ever meet, and since you're 21, we'll have to go to the bars or something. Heh heh heh.

Creative Writing--Wish my school had a major or minor or even series like that...but no, we get "Story Writing". And I wanted to take that class, but I had to have Intro to Lit studies before hand. Well, it turned out that my instructor was a HUGE feminist, so I was given no critcism other then D's and F's for B's and C's writing. I got a D in the class, and later found out she taught STory Writing as well, so I said screw it. But I wish I was in a Creative writing course. Maybe some day...but then again, I've been writing since Freshman year, and consistantly getting better.

On another note, TaleWeaver, you hit half the college exp. on the head. Finding stuff yourself.

She dresses so she isn't so sweating when she's dancing. Gosh...now why are you wearing that red suit that's form fitting? And that Catholic School girl ditty? Hm....I'm guessing the hiked up skirt was so you weren't so hot. There's a word that comes to mind now that I think of you saying that....no two words. One of them is Tease. And the second, is Bone-headed. Many a red blooded american 14-30 year old probably doesn't care if you sweat, but don't be so dumb as to say you don't dress sexy, then come out in the outfits you wear...please, that's just redundent and stupid. With everyone else occupied Winterwolf walks over to Plastique Saber. He asks, "So what has been going on while I was away? Anything interesting?"

"No nothing major. Excuse me, I need to make an important phone call." Plastique walks into another room and closes the door.

Winterwolf takes a seat and is in the room all alone.

Greetings all... H-B-D to Mandi and Co... good to see more people in the 21 & Up club.

<sighs> Well, I have a really downer bit of news to report, and while I wish it were otherwise, there's no getting around it:

As of today, my missus Andrea and I are splitting up.

Before anyone goes off on "Can it be saved?" or "What happened!? You two seemed so happy together?", let me explain... it's been building up since about a year ago. Basically, I've been negligent in a few areas that I should have paid more attention to... mostly housework, laundry, contributing to the household expenses. Really easy things that someone should remember, right? But, in my case, I've been letting my online time and my writing get in the way, or supercede a lot of the tasks that need to get done. Andrea's tried to overlook it, but she finally put her foot down this morning... bascially, we tried to make it work, but it's gotten to where we both realize that it's not going to work anymore.

For the sake of Abbee (our little one), we're keeping it as nice a split as possible... no fighting, no "I hate you!" tirades. Just to adults that have come to understand that while they both care for one another, they can't live together.

So, that trip I'm taking to Tampa in August is turning into a permanent change of Address... Which won't be so bad, considering my family in Florida knows what happened, and they're offering whatever help they can to help me get settled. And, thankfully they're not placing blame on anyone... seems my fears of getting told "We told you so!" were unfounded.

Anyway, I can still be reached here in Washington for the next couple of weeks... after that, my net contact will be tenious until I can get a phone line and net access again. Of course that will happen after I get a job... <sighs>

It's just... after being and living with two people I really care about, for two years, and now it hits me I won't be seeing their faces again... we'll at least were staying good friends.

Sorry for taking up a lot of space here, but I wanted to let everyone know in my extended fan-family what's happened.

Thanks Todd, I had put up posts with an idea or comment or somesuch and a question of when we were going to get new episodes several times without any responses, so I decided to try something "different." It appears my little trio of messages with appropriate pictures elicited the desired response. I am looking forward to new episodes. I enjoy Timedancer the most, then mainline. Pendragon is not as important to me, and dark ages has no interest(I want to see what is going to happen to the gargoyles, not prequel stuff)...

I still think it would be neat if the main line moved forward on a 10 year to 1 year pace.

**SJ walks into the CR wearing a "Bush and Dick" campaign button.**
WHOOOO!!!! The presidential race has now upgraded from "complete ennui" to simply "boring as all hell".
But now we have Bush and Dick! BUSH and DICK! BUSH.....and now DICK. I LOVE Bush. Bush is wonderful. Quite a few people in here love Bush as well. I'm not a fan of Dick, though.....I can't get excited over Dick. I prefer Bush over Dick any day. Bush is the thing for me. Don't need any Dick. But hey, who am I to complain? I think most of us will agree that nothing goes better with Bush than some Dick.

First off, I'd like to discuss this whole Stephen King web-novel thing.......Something about this just sticks me. Okay, I downloaded it......eh, I'm gonna pay later......and I read it, and, well, it's a beginning to what could be an interesting novel. However, it's only about 20 pages of text. I'm wondering how many installments of this novel King actually has planned. Roughly 41,000 people have already ponied up a dollar for the first installment of the book.
Which is what sort of sticks me. I know he's Stephen freakin' King, a virtual god of publishing, and that he could publish his grocery list and a million folks would buy it. However, look at the numbers here. 20 pages of text. 41,000 people paying $1. That's $41,000, none of which King has to pay the publishers, as he's doing it all through his website. So.....that's $41,000 for 20 freaking pages. That's $2,050 a page. It's roughly 5,000 words long......so that's $8.20 a word. That's just.......depressing.
I mean, we're giving it away for FREE here on the net. All of us aspiring writers, we get nothing for our efforts, but Stephen King is getting $8.20 a filkin' word!

So, from now on, I am charging $1 dollar per download of any of my fan fiction stories....whenever I get around to writing them. To be paid using the honor system, of course. ;)

Speaking of writing and TGS....you staff folks keep saying that you're under-staffed. So, when are the recruitment drives?

Jannie: By now it's a little late for you to be reading this before your surgery, but I have been praying that all goes well. Speaking as someone who comes from a family with a looong history of heart problems, I can sympathize. I'm hoping you make a full recovery, and are back to entertaining Denis, Fred, myself, and the rest of us very soon. :)

Buffy Fans: Good news for DVD owners. In January, they're going to release the ENTIRE first season of Buffy onto DVD. I'd be first in line, if I actually owned a DVD. But this is one more reason to get one! :)

Grinz: I'm sorry that you are having family problems. I can definitely relate to that. But I have to agree with Cyborg--what's an odinist?

*Cyborg enters after a really long day* You know it has been a long day when you have to look up 'really' in the dictionary to see how it is spelled.

***Warning: My Two- Cents Worth***
Elisa and Goliath> I think in one episode, Elisa told him that she was human, and that was how it was meant to be. Meaning that she wouldn't become a gargoyle even if she had the chance. I think that is exactly right. I believe that it was Daphne (the apprentice word-smith) who first mentioned that Goliath and Elisa should have to work out the problems of an inter- species relationship. Gargoyles, when it first was created, would often do that, deal with complicated issues. Perhaps, expecting to have a much longer running period, the character interaction was set up in such a way that the show could be able to address that large issue, and all the issues surrounding it, believably and thorouhgly. If Elisa became a gargoyle, or Goliath a human, or some other 'solution' like that, it would be a cop- out so that we would not have to actually think or deal with such a thing.
*reads a few more posts on the subject* I am glad that so many of us can see this.
***End of My Two- Cents Worth***

If you want to continue, it will cost $5.95, the charge will be deducted automatically from your account.

Zath>"That shouldn't excuse it" Of course not, but I was trying to find as many reasons as posible for her not to be so scared. I probably didn't do too well (since you couldn't see that), I don't have much experiance at being optimistic.
"once I was in drivers ed I realized how much I hated being behind the wheel" Personally, I am terrified of loosing control of the car. I have been hit by so many cars, I really don't like them, and I think that they are far too much power for a species that takes such little responsability.
Now for the harder, more correct reason: I don't think I am capable enough to drive.

Grinz>"I was afraid to come home aned hung at my buds place" If you were afraid because of physical violence, then that was probably a good thing to do. Otherwise, I would recomend that you go back home, stay there, and act like everything is normal. This will give your family the opportunity to:
A) realize that osinism is not a bad thing and that you are still a good person,
B) decide that you are going through some kind of teenager rebelion/angst phase and that you will eventually grow out of it, and/or
C) not agree with or ignore your choice of religion but still mend their bridges with you.
That course of action stood me in good stead (and I got all three of those reactions, and some variations).
By the way, what is 'osinism'?

Warpmind>"in my 50's, 60's and 80's, respectively" I'm somewhere between 18 and 81 myself, or maybe I'm both at the same time. I haven't decided yet. *Gets a mental picture of that baby in a sphere at the end of the 2001 movie and giggles*
"WHY is Wilek the only one so far who has signed my Guestbook" Because everytime I try to write something in one of those things, it always ends up sounding really stupid?

DPH>"If I do not post for 2 days, no one notices? Oh well" People only tend to notice things like that if you are gone a long time. Otherwise they may just assume that you have nothing you want to say for the moment.

Au revoir

Hi Everyone!:-Þ I thought back in 99 life was at an end with the ending of the series but since I just recently jump on the internet bandwagon and found you guys, my life is soooo much happier!!! Thanks for keeping the series alive!!!!!

I just finished season 1 and started season 2 and I am at "The Scottish Play". I see I have a lot in store for me. I had to admit I am the type to jump to the end of a book just to see how things work out, especially paying close attention to Elisa and Goliath (can the person who does the images for our chat room do a pict of Elisa and Goliath glancing at each other like they did in the beginning of "The Mirror" Please!!!!!!!) I read "Something old, Something new" and "Seeds of Change" and can't wait for next season.

Jannie: Quick recovery from your surgery. My father has diabetes and recovered quickly from the quad bipass and still loves his glazed doughnuts. So, if he can recover from it so will you. Think of this as a new lease on life and it's what you do for your health from now on that counts most. Make the most of it!!!!!!

Kitainia: Happy birthday to you! **Toot Toot*** 21 a spectacular age to turn. You have your whole life in front of you and you can do whatever you want. Just remember, what goes around do come back around so plant the seeds of goodness!!!

Mary Flanders: Just be careful. Watch your back and always go with a friend. There is safety in numbers as Goliath wisely knows.

Female Brooklyn: Your parents are just showing how much they love you. I know the Christianity most people see is not the way Christ was. Maybe find out what he has to say for himself from his book and let him defend himself. I know religion is a touchy subject and this is just one persons perspective.

Thanks again for the series and look forward to next season. Til later.

RAM - Please be patient. At this moment, we really are working hard on TGS, but since we've got a lot of other things going on in our lives and demands upon us, we don't really have as much time to dedicate to it as we'd like. So the new episodes will take a little while, because we want to make certain that they come out as good ones rather than frantically written and sloppily edited ones. Remember, patience is a virtue.

All that we can say about "Pendragon" at present is to expect it some time after the Gathering, but that's ALL that we can say for now.

Patrick Toman> <<The Gathering 2001 will be in Los Angeles>> Cool, any idea yet about the exact dates and location, or will that be decided later? Too bad it isn't a large enough event to get the convention center.

Kyryn> << I would highly recommend trying to get Professor Stephen Moore for the Shakespeare class>> According to the online schedule of classes, I actually have a Moore (doesn't give a first name, but I'm assuming it's the same guy) teaching my "Contemporary Prose" class. <<The USC creative writing course is fairly extensive, involving at least 3-4 courses, but the slots fill up early>> And you have to have taken at least 2 literature courses before they'll let you sign up for any of the creative writing classes, which is why I'm not taking any this semester. <<Blaise, who posts in the S8 room, is also going to USC>> Really? These are the things I miss by not keeping up with that room…

Warpmind> <<it's called Project A-ko>> That was one of the first ones I ever saw, possibly the first, but I can't remember whether or not I saw Vampire Hunter D before or after it. I saw it back when I was very young, very naive, and thought all animation was for little kids. Needless to say, I was shocked, although looking back on it, it was all pretty silly. Since then, I have changed my views of animation and broadened my horizons so I am now much less easily offended. : ) <<And from the Game Master's perspective, a Fumble is nothing but an excellent opportunity for slapstick>> **LOL**

Entity> <<What are you taking right now, out of curiosity?>> This semester I'm taking two English courses, both about literature, a drawing class, and a general fine arts course that is a prerequisite for many of the more interesting art classes. Last year I took biology, chemistry, anthropology, art history, linguistics, writing, classics, earthquakes (a mixture of geology and other sciences), and computer animation. I'm basically taking anything that looks even remotely interesting in hopes that it will help me get closer to figuring out what I want to focus on. I can think of almost a dozen things I'd like to have minors in, but I can't find a major.

If I do not post for 2 days, no one notices? Oh well.

I have to do mandatory overtime this weekend. Next weekend I am off. The Saturday after that weekend I am off. I do not know about the following Sunday. The company is re-considering overtime policy. If I get hired by the company (I am working as a temp right now), I will probably get moved to 3rd shift.

If I keep working, I expect within 4-5 weeks to have enough money to buy the PC I want. I will not buy a new PC until prices go down, which I expect within a couple of months.

**Work related**
If only somebody could convince 2nd and 3rd shift to work on quality for a few days and cut down on the amount of work being sent to be re-done, my work would not be so bad. It is annoying everyday to see more stuff sent to you than you know you can get done. I am thankfull for having 2 new people in my area to handle rework.

Well, I'm home from vacation, and can return to regular posts again. :) And, as promised, click my name for the Memorable Moments of Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying. :)

Japanimation: I saw a great one this week - it's called Project A-ko. If you haven't seen it... DO SO! I won't say anything of it, because doing so would spoil it... except that EVERYTHING is exagerrated. :)

Jannie: This may be a little late, but All Best Wishes for your operation.

Archwolf: If you think the flare gun event was something, you should have been there when he made a toilet explode... All in the Memorable Moments page, on my link. :)

Kitania: You just turned 21? Um... Congrats, but I sort of pictured you to be... somewhere at the other end of the 20's... (Then again, online, people have percieved me to be in my 50's, 60's and 80's, respectively... and I'm just 20 yet...)

Winterwolf: My not playing online is basically just due to phone line charges - if I were to play on Battle.net while you guys play there, I'd be having to pay a preposterous charge, mainly due to the time zone difference. And besides, I'm too greedy to share my finds with random strangers anyway. ;)

Gside: My Diablo II character will be either a) a Paladin (because he tends to kick undead butt), or b) a Necromancer, because he can swiftly create an army of undead in his service. Actually, I'm kinda leaning toward the latter... and just forget about the Barbarian, or any of the women. I'm up for the extreme ends of the Light/Dark scale here. :)

Zath: Actually, no, he's nothing like that in RL. In fact, he's got the Red Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, and is extraordinarily strong. He just had a few unfortunate Fumble rolls. :| And from the Game Master's perspective, a Fumble is nothing but an excellent opportunity for slapstick. ];)

Oh, and all newcomers, Welcome!

And one last thing... WHY is Wilek the only one so far who has signed my Guestbook? Please, feel free to stop by and make comments about it! :|

Thanks to all who gave Happy Birthdays! :)

Zath: In the Harry Potter books, the Dark Mark is Voldemort's symbol. It's a skull with a snake coming out of the month. Very sinister and gross. All his followers (the Death Eaters) have it magically tattooed on their forearms and he can use that fact to summon them whenever he wants (though they can choose whether or not to answer).

hey...
Zath too bad... when you said that little bit it freaked me cause two things, 1. Gargs are the reason I started writting so I not only love them, but owe my career as an author to them. and 2. because I am the biggest movie buff you will ever meet. :)
Ok can I ask something here I said it before but ya might of forgot <talking to everyone> Friends call me just Grinz, call me FB or Lyn if ya want but I'm better known as Grinz. :)
Ok my rant is kind of gonna be short and bad cause well sunday morning I believe my entire family relitives and all, began to hate me. Think about family totaly evolved around christianity and then I go and yell that I'm an odinist, they freak start yelling blah blah blah, I was afraid to come home aned hung at my buds place. So that was a lowdown junk. Ah Merde I'm doomed, back home all's ignoring me, but doomed. :(:( Any tips??
Ok uh I've got this huge flow of story idea's coming, do you think that a short fic in the series but still practically meaningless is good? But it's got a good plot line.

Kitania and Mandi> Happy belated birthdays!

Janine> Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Zath and Entity> I'm an alumnus of USC with a degree in English Literature. I didn't want to recommend their program because I've been out of it for ten years now, but I just checked and noticed that many of my professors are still teaching there. I didn't get to take the creative writing course, but I did get to take the poetry courses and would recommend the creative writing course. I had the rare pleasure of working with the poet David St. John as my poetry professor and learned a heck of a lot from the man. Zath, if you get the chance and are interested, or have to, I would highly recommend trying to get Professor Stephen Moore for the Shakespeare class (he's the reason that I still read Shakespeare). I would also recommend any classes with Professors Gustafson, Schor, or Manning. Entity, if you decide to try to apply for USC, let me know. I'll be happy to write you a letter of recommendation if you need one.

The USC creative writing course is fairly extensive, involving at least 3-4 courses, but the slots fill up early.

Funny, I go to USC and then end up in Texas. Zath goes from Texas to USC.

I would however, side with Robby in that I would recommend at least a minor in something else, or at the very least take a couple of tech writers courses or some background courses in journalism. Tech writing pays very well (as opposed to fic writing until you get famous).

Blaise, who posts in the S8 room, is also going to USC I believe and may have more current info on their programs.

I think that there are also some good smaller colleges around the country that have good writing programs, but I can't think of any specific ones at the moment.

Later all!

Howdy all>
Entity> Creative Writing. Like most have said, most schools have a Literature/English major. Creative Writing is usually a single course in an extensive curriculum. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Things to look for should be the faculty (Are they there for the students? Do they care?) the campus (Is there a lot of interest in what you like to do) and knowing what you want. (Even if it is a vague idea, just a direction.) I rate USC much like NYU, good schools, but their many strength is in networking (knowing people who will be in positions of influence) and what I call the Wow factor. As in 'Wow, you graduated from USC!'. Granted it's hard to get a feel for the campus or even know the faculty on one visit or no visit if it's far away. I wish there was. I know US News & World Report rates colleges. You might want to check their Jan, Feb, Mar issues, I think the college edition is in one of those months.

One last bit of advice, be prepared to learn on your own. I've taken a lot of English classes were the only thing refined is a student's ability to BS to a certain number of pages. If the classes don't teach you what you want to learn, be prepared to find it elsewhere. You can't change schools easily, but you can find online classes, seminars or writers workshops.

The writing class I came away with the most was a Technical communications class for Engineering. We were penalized for BS and really put through the paces to get our point across. But for writing there is no substitute for practice, practice and more practice.

Gathering in LA> That one I can make. Sorry I'll miss out on this one. I hope folks will post pictures from it as soon as possible.

July 25, 2000, and we've reached the top ten of our countdown. Just 10 days remaining until The Gathering 2000.

The Gathering 2001 will be in Los Angeles (that's just over the mountain and through the desert from Denver, right?)... we are really getting psyched after seeing how many "Gargoyles" fans have been turning up at other Southern California cons like Anime Expo and Comic Con.

G2K Fanfic Panel - I'd actually heard that the original one on Saturday hasn't really been cancelled at all, but I have no firm info either way. Supposedly the person organizing it was going to post in the CRs again looking for more participants, but so far that doesn't seem to be happening. If I find out any more definite info, though, this room and S8 will be the first to know.

Well, I just woke up... And I went to sleep at like 7. Eeesh.

But, for the next day or two in any event my life will still be busy... I'm trying to put some last minute touches on the product I've spent the last few months on... And I'm nearly done! (Good thing too since its due at the end of the week!)

Shinigami and Coyote- "Continue doing what they were doing in the adult chat last night... Three guesses, first two don't count." Why do I get the feeling I missed out on something? I didn't even know there was gonna BE a chat. Ah well... In no particular order
1- Baking cookies?
2- Going through the process of adopting a puppy?
3- Spending time down in some deep dark cavern tossing off riddles back and forth with a several thousand year old lizard creature named Gollum who is obsessed with his ring of invisibility?

Any of those? No, I suppose not...

The Tick Live Action SHow- Anyone else seen costumes on this thing? THe Tick shows his entire face and it just looks... Wrong. Unfortunatley, I give this show 2 weeks at best before the fact that its a witty and clever comic book spoof done in live action catches up with it. Maybe it'll somehow strike a cord with proper advertising, but I somehow doubt it. "Tickkk... You can't fight evil with a macoroni duck!"
"I'll be the judge of that..."

Doug and Kit and Rodlox and anyone else who left for a short while and is now back- I honestly hadn't realized you were gone. But then, I've been missing myself... Welcome back in any event...

Entity- Your best bet is likely to actually major in something else and take several creative writing classes as electives. Cause to be honest, near as I can tell, a degree in creative writing is about as useful as a degree in philosophy or comic book art. You may apreciate such things, but other people won't. However, print journalism or something else is a different matter entirely. It's best to have a fallback since in that particular field, its more a matter of talent and name recognition than anything else. (Myself I'm an art major starting in August, but I have to take all the other pre-requisites as well...)

Lady Mystic- Okies.

Goliath and Elisa- Turning Elisa into a garg is NOT the long term solution to the problem. However, in my ficverse (if I ever leave TGS I'll HAVE to get back to that thing)Elisa gets turned into a gargoyle... With less than positive results in the long run.

Katara, Crzy Demona- The San Diego Comicon sounds like it was a lot of fun. Especially since everyone from Antarctic Press is now back from it and I'll be hearing about it all day at work...

Hopefully next year I'll be able to hit all the cons I want to go to. A-kon, Comicon, Botcon, Gathering... Nah, not very likely unless I hit it big in an extreme hurry. As is, Dallas is probably the far reach of my con going...

Aaron- Check your e-mail.

In any event, that's Lina's sister, Luna, who is the knight of Ceipheed, the great dragon that slew Shabranigdo and split him into pieces. (I think. It's been a while, I may have mixed up the name Ceipheed with something else.) Luna has a part time job as a waitress in between saving the world. (Guess where the inspiration for my newest RP character came from.) In any event, most net speculation says that Lina is quite likely the knight of Shabranigdo, or the knight of The Lord of Nightmares. I'll talk to ya more about it next SAAS meeting on SUnday.

As far as Xellos and Filia lemons... I know Mara has pictures...

Mary- Eee... That doesn't sound good.

Gasper- Of course I don't mind that you RP in the situation I set you up in. I set it up after all. Hee. Just remember, if your character gets ludicrously strong, he'll likely have to come into the battle a little bit later so everyone else can be smacked around for a while first. 8) (DBZ routine- Really powerful badguy arrives. Heros fight for a while, get their buts kicked. Then, backup arrives, usually in the form of Piccollo, Vegeta, or Goku, and the heroes start to win for a while. Then the villain goes to his second form, and the heroes start to lose again until Goku pulls a massive source of power from out of nowhere and then gives the villain a fist through the chest... Regardless, DBZ is fun.)

Beast Wars games- The first one was REALLY bad, avoid it. I haven't played Transmetals, so I dunno. And there is an English DBZ game for the playstation... Sorta. Its actually an English DBGT game... I forget the exact title, but good luck in finding it, it's not available ANYWHERE...

Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe- Gee, I'e answered this question like 3 times now... Tenchi Muyo was the OVA (Original Video animation) series, and was based off of the manga. They ran out of budget after about episode 13. However, the series was immensely popular, and so production of an all new original television series that basically ripped off the OVA series began. Thus, Tenchi Universe was born. Later on, Tenchi on Earth and Tenchi in Tokyo followed the same continuity. (I think. I haven't seen those, only heard.) Much later, after that series had run its course, Magical Girl Pretty Sammy, which was basically a spoof of Sailor Moon with the Tenchi cast was made. The movies, near as I can tell from watching them, follow the OVA storyline. So, three ubrelated continuities.

OVA/Movie
Television series
Magical Girl Pretty Sammy

That clear it up?

**RP HERE**

SJ and Kari are in the middle of their touching moment, when Kari suddenly does a double take and realizes, JUST who is there.
"Katherine?"
The girl in the waitress outfit put her hand to her forhead. "You know I hate that name KAROLYN, just stick with calling me Kitty."
SJ blinked, as a few words that were rushed between Kitty and Jim back in HFIL catch up to him. "Wait a minute, she's your sister?"
"Yep."
"WHy didn't you ever tell me you have a sister?"
Jim shrugged and answered for Kari. "I'm betting you never asked." SJ opened his mouth to retort, then realized Jim was right.
Kari looked at her sister for a moment. There was some tension in the air, apparently the two did not get along well.
Or so it seemed until Kari's eyes brightened, her arms outstretched, and the two siblings hugged with a great yell of "SIS!" and "It's been a while!" and other such stuff.
Sammael, still in SJ's original body, looked at SJ. SJ looked back at him and shrugged.

Hey there, folks. Long time no see. Time Dancer was pretty good this last season -- I had a tough time following the plot towards the end, there, though.

Gathering> Yes, I know it's very soon. (4th, 5th, 6th August.) Yes, I know it's in Florida. Yes, it's WAAAAYYY to expensive for me to go. :-( So, does anybody have the faintest idea where the Gathering will be held *next* year? Preferably someplace a *tad* less pricey than Orlando. If you could arrange to have it in beatiful Denver, Colorado, that would be nice. If that's too much to ask, just hold it someplace *inland.* I'm 1500 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and roughly equidistant between the Atlantic and the Pacific, so the further inland you hold it the closer it's bound to be to me. :-) Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City . . . any of those would be better than New York, LA, Orlando, and so on . . . .

Of course, there's always Qaanaaq, Greenland. It's about four hundred miles north of the Arctic Circle, which shouldn't bother the gargoyles or the fey much. As for the humans, they'd be well-advised not to forget their thermal underwear. :-)

********BEGIN RP************
The Dragoon smiled as another day ended in his struggle against 4. She was never going to break, but the training regimen had started to speed up his healing as of late, and usually after 12 hours, was ready once more to take her on. His thoughts though were in a different place this day as he walked through Hell. He didn't belong here, as most heroes ended up somewhere else, but atleast he wasn't being tortured. Walking along the path he heard a distant cry for help. Spear already in hand from its dimensional pocket, he took off into the empty space that passed for the air in Hell. Landing after only 39 seconds in the air, he noticed the fact that he'd be outnumbered 3 to 1.

"Just my kinda odds." he said with a smile. "Hey guys, wanna get your hands off the lady?" The criminals looked at eachother then to their play thing. She was crying, and bleeding from what Gasper could tell. From what he could also tell, the leader was the larege one in the Scoripion type uniform.

"Leave us Dragoon, we know who you are, and are not afraid of you." The leader picked the girl up haphazardly, and held her in his grips. Smiling, Gasper chuckled.

"Don't say I never warned ya." Immediately, he shot out a ki blast that blew a hole through one of the gang. He fell down, his spirit already dusting itself off and running away. The other lackey ran for his life (if he could call it that.).

"Dragoon, your days here are numbered. You can have the B****, but watch your back." He threw the girl to the ground and disappeared. Gasper ran to help her. She shrugged off the help and sneered at him.

"Get the hell away from me."
"Nice way to greet your rescuer."
She spat away some of the blood from her lips. "You don't care anyway. Atleast you have a chance of going back up. They'll just come after me again. What does it matter."
"Because I can't stand around and do nothing." Fires flared when she turned to look at him. He aquinted, then slowly stood agape in shock.

"That's right Gasper, it's been a long time...have you forgotten me, the first women who loved you and you let die in your hands?"
********END RP*************

Robby, hope you don't mind if I RP a little while I'm in hell. I've got a few questions for ya. First off, how does Tenchi Universe and Tenchi Muyo! fit together? Alternate Universes? Good series so far...but I"m confused.

Next for anyone in the CR here. I have a PSX, and have considered getting either Beast Wars Transformers or Beast Wars Transmetals the PSX games. Anyone played them? If you have, let me know via e-mail. Address provided.

There seems to be quite a few friends MIA. :(

Niamhgold> Darn. I missed my chance to say good bye and have a nice trip! I'm looking forward to having you back soon! Have a wonderful time! :)

Shadowrider> How are you doing? It feels like I haven't seen you in a long while. Hope you are having a great vacation/road trip. I'm looking forward to hearing about it when you return.

R.MacD> Welcome to the CR! Feel free to post anytime.

Gside> How is Diablo 2 treating you? I haven't played much myself since I've been busy with other projects. :)

Doug and Kitainia> Welcome back guys! Sorry I didn't wish you bon voyage before you left. RL has been fairly hectic for me.

G2K activities> Are the listed activities on the Gathering page up to date? I want to figure out how I loosely want to map out my time. ;)

Green Baron> I hope your current situation with your folks works itself out for the best.

abbadon_13> Hi there! Welcome to the CR! I have to agree with Patrick and Todd on this one. I think Elisa should remain a human. It is an entertaining thought having her as a gargoyle but I don't think there is a simple fix for the two of them.

Cyrway> I'll take a look for your work! I'll bet it is unbelievably good!

Lady Mystic> I look forward to seeing the results. I'm sure most of us are interested to know which pictures are going to be around.

Mary Flanders> I hope the police get both of those scumbags. Nobody should have to live in fear.

Warpmind> <D2> Enjoy! <not online> Really? Is it a phone thing or an ISP thing or both?

Jannie> <health> Oh No! I'm going to be saying prayers for you!

DPH> No Monday post? Oh well, it gives me a decent excuse for skipping my RP today.

Kitainia> Happy Birthday! So your b-day is July 25th? Hope it is a really great day for you! Enjoy!

Good night eveyone!

**BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE'VE HAD ANY RP, SO HERE GOES :)**

The screen comes on to show Gubio and Erin staring at Terrell, Mist frowning too. The elevator doors open, but only Terrell seems to notice. He gives them a glance and then looks back at his friends. "Are you alright?" he asks. "Did…" Gubio gapes. "Did you say there was a n-nuclear bomb down here?" "Yes," Erin gasps. "Is it true?" Terrell nods. "Unfortunately yes. None of us has ever seen the bomb, but the threat of it is powerful enough to make Vincent do whatever Abdullah tells him. We don't know how he got the bomb into the city, he probably has some agents down here. In any case, there's not much we can do about it. I just thought you should know." "Not much we can do about it?" Erin replies, looking aghast. "There has to be something!" Terrell sighs. "We don't know where the bomb is. We'd have to search the whole city, as well as the mines, the farms, all the caverns below us. It'd take so long that Abdullah's agents would spot our efforts while we were doing it, and then it'd be too late. Besides, it's probably well-hidden and we have no way of detecting radioactivity." "Then get one," Gubio shrugs. "A Geiger counter's easy to find. Maybe if I call Bessus, he can get one and bring it down here. Then…" "No!" Terrell makes a scything gesture. "There is nothing we can do about this device, I'm sorry. He forces us to use our expertise with herbalism to create drugs, the very fumes from them damage our people's lungs terribly, but…" He sighs. "Abdullah can destroy our city, and yours too, in one stroke, if we defy him. We can't." "That's assuming there is a bomb," Gubio points out. "You said no one's ever seen it. Maybe it doesn't exist?" "We considered that," Terrell sighs, "but we can't take that chance. If there is one…" "I understand," Erin cuts in, "but didn't you always tell me it was better to die quickly than live a slave? Please, Terrell, let us help you look for this bomb. We can call Bessus and…" "Fine," the caiveh warrior grimaces, recognizing the look on her face. "You're welcome to try. But if you fail, and this entire city is destroyed because of you…" "You don't need to tell us that," Gubio interrupts, pulling out his cell phone. "I'll call Bessus. These things do work down here, right?" Terrell nods. "Come on, we best move while you are talking. The Desert Night you need can be found in the market. Let's get it now." "Alright," Erin nods as Gubio dials. She looks at Mist, who meows worriedly. "It'll be okay," Erin assures the cat as they step out of the elevator. Mist shakes her head, meowing again. Then Terrell frowns as he sniffs the air. Gubio grimaces even as he talks to Bessus on his cell phone and Erin feels whatever they are too, shivering uncontrollably as layers of dark shadow envelope them. "Terrell," she asks, "what is…" "Greetings, mortals!" a loud voice cuts her off, followed by deep booming laughter. The shadows coalesce into a dark red-eyed face. "I am Dao! My master has wished for your deaths, and so you will die. I hope you have made adequate preparations!!" Chuckling again, he forms arms out of the shadows and begins striking at the three Ravens and caiveh warrior as they gasp and do their best to dodge. "Bessus, just get a Geiger counter, then come down here and meet us with it in the market pronto!" Gubio yells into the phone. "We got some trouble, I'll call you back!" He hangs up and looks at Erin as a blast of wind knocks him down. "What is this thing?" "A genie," she replies, gasping as she too is knocked over along with Terrell and Mist. "It's trying to kill us!" Gubio's jaw falls open. "I thought genies couldn't kill anybody!" Erin sighs. "Disney movies censor a lot about reality." Gubio grimaces. Then the screen goes blank as Dao snickers and moves in for the kill.

**HOW WILL OUR HEROES SURVIVE THIS ONE? FIND OUT NEXT TIME. END RP**

<A large Kawasaki motorbike roars into the CR and comes to a stop. The figure on board, who wears a black leather jacket that looks a lot like Loki's, gets off, takes off her dark blue with winged unicorn designs helmet, shakes out her hair, and smiles at everyone.>

<grins> Felt like making an entrance today, I don't know why. Maybe it's cause today I'm finally 21. Yep, Mandi, you got it right, today was my birthday. :) Thanks for remembering, it means a lot. Hopefully you're not the only one in who will give me the appropriate words. :) Happy Birthday to you too, doesn't it feel good to be this age? <smiles> Hope you had a good birthday, I've had a wonderful one so far. Went out with my friends, partied hearty, ate nice cake, got great presents, and now I'm back in here posting. Wonderful day. The trip to Houston was pretty good too, Doug's and my parents were actually able to get along with each other and us. :) His mom still treats me with only grudging acceptance, but we didn't get into any confrontations this time around, which was no small relief. :) The trip seemed a bit too long, and the movies we saw while on it were so terrible I won't even dignify them with reviews like I said I was going to (let's just say What Lies Beneath was dull and confusing as heck despite the good acting done by its stars and thus didn't entertain me while Loser REALLY lived up to its name), but otherwise it was a good trip. The families demanding visits are placated now, at least for a few more months. Things went well, but it's great to be back. Really great. <grins> Thanks to all who said welcome. Now let's see if I can get caught up.

Gside: <I didn't say anything before because you were gone and would be back in a reasonable
amount of time.> <sighs> Should have guessed that. Still, though, something would have been nice. <sighs> I suppose we just wanted a little attention. It doesn't feel that great to think your presence and friendship are being taken for granted, you know? Glad to see it's not so. Thanks to everyone again for the welcome backs.

Kyryn: Thanks for the good luck wishes about our trip and our car. Our parents didn't like hearing about the problems it has, but they took it in stride. <grimace> We're doing our best to get it fixed, the mechanics at the local Volvo dealership will look it over Wednesday. Hopefully repairing the problems won't cost more than we can afford. <fingers crossed> Glad yours is okay.

Todd: I know Alex is too young, it was just a creativity demon. I too wonder what Emrys thinks of Harry Potter. <Slytherin T-shirts> Oh boy, looks like someone made a mistake. Or maybe not, who knows. I, though, would prefer to get a Gryffindor or Ravenclaw one and proudly wear it. At least they haven't made any with the Dark Mark.

Cyborg: <Wolverine's expressions made that line great> You are very right. When they make the X-Men sequels, he better come back. <smiles confidently>

SJ: Thanks for the response. I still don't understand what happens on Survivor in case of a tie, but since I don't watch the show anyway it probably doesn't matter. So that Gervase guy is going to win, huh? Wonder why the other contestants like him. If all he does is laze around and insult people, that doesn't sound like something in his favor. And him being as much of a chauvinist pig as you've said would seem to make him persona non grata in the eyes of any self-respecting woman. Do the other contestants have serious mental problems or what? It seems like if they were in the right minds, the guy would be gone by now. But instead he's hanging around, remaining a liability. What's the deal?

Aaron: True, Edward is hot. But she won't go with him. Disappointing. I like your idea about Jason and Damien too, wonder if it will ever come true. Damien does give me the creeps though, I don't know why. <shrugs>

Shadowrider: You're welcome. Enjoy the vacation, I will miss your kind and friendly words until you get back.

Firestorm: Sounds like you and LM had a great vacation. I envy you, it's been quite a while since I've had one of those. :( Glad you're back, hope you can soon get your e-mail working again. Also hope to soon see answers to those questions you posed on Pendragon Season 3. :) <Detroit Horror Stories> That man was very lucky, hope he learned his lesson and won't try suicide again. As for that mother, I hope she is appropriately punished. My parents would have answered b) and c) (the latter determining the grounding's duration) to the question you asked. Wish the mother you mentioned had done the same. <sigh>

Coyote: Sorry to hear your work situation is still atrocious, I hope it either picks up soon or you're able to find a new and better job. You'll be in my prayers. <I'm going to the Gathering as an artist, not as a writer> Well, your art skills are as great as your writing, so that's fine. However, I do pray you will take up writing again someday. I and many others are still waiting for the remaining chapters of WCC.

Christine: Sorry about your grandmother passing on. It's good her suffering is over though. <takes a moment of silence> Hope that the copies of Dark of the Elvenwood arrive safely, Doug and I will order one for ourselves as soon as we know whether or not.

Joe: Welcome back, briefly. :) Yep, I've changed my color, I like this one better. Didn't realize you'd been gone so long you hadn't noticed. <sighs> Hope you will return again soon.

Equation: Hey, I like brains! Even better if they come with good looks. Personality is most important to me though, I've been screwed over many times by guys who looked like movie stars but didn't have what counted in the character department. <sighs> Hope you find someone right for you out there, don't worry, I have confidence you'll meet her someday. :)

Curly++: You're welcome for the prayers, I'll keep giving them. Good bit about utopia.

Jannie: Good luck with that quadruple bypass. My grandfather had one of those, and if he could survive it (he did, died later of a stroke) I'm confident you can too. Nevertheless I will be keeping you in my prayers. Sorry you won't be attending the Gathering this year, hope you will get to attend one someday. May we soon know whether or not you are alright.

Daphne: Duchovny as Bluestone? God save us from the horrors of typecasting. Forgive me, but I too do not think he would fit the part. Bluestone and Mulder are very different characters after all. I don't know who should be Bluestone, but I don't think it should be Duchovny. Good idea though. Hope the makers of the movie are able to find someone more appropriate for the role if it's written in. :)

Female Brooklyn: I've never been to England, I often wonder if I'd enjoy it. Thanks for telling us about your trip there, it gave me a few ideas. :) Congrats on the new dog.

Janine: Hmm. Very strange dream. Hope you discover the meaning of it someday. Wish I could help, but dream interpretation is one of the few aspects of psychology I'm absolutely no good at. <sighs> Glad your head is at least clear.

SOROW: Don't worry, venting is often necessary. It prevents explosions. We understand it. <grin> Glad you've gotten over the things that made you vent though. :) If any are still causing problems, I hope they ease up soon. Please convey my congratulations to your brother on his marriage. I'm glad it was a beautiful wedding. Hopefully mine will be as good, if Doug and I ever get around to it. <shakes head and sighs>

Emmabu: That cat situation indeed sounds problematic. What I recommend you do (if you haven't already) is to take the cat back to its owner and recommend that he drive it to the vet immediately if he can. That way he finds out about the problem himself from an authority on the subject and you won't have to go through all those awkward "Are-you-sure?" questions. I don't know if that's the best way to do things, but it's what I'd do. Cyborg's idea is probably better. Whatever happens, I feel bad for the cat being sick, hope its death is not painful when it comes. <grimace> Good luck with your exams in Pittsburgh, hope you get back soon. (Don't worry, Doug will wait for his feedback.)

Welcome to Ray, Abbadon, Skyrender, and other newcomers. Hope you all enjoy this place.

Green Baron: Sorry to hear your mother threw you out, but it's good you're taking it well and you have a place to stay. :) May things somehow get patched up in the future, I'll be praying. Thanks for letting us know what was going on.

Rodlox: No one wished you well/off? That's funny, I thought we did. <shrugs> Well, if we didn't, sorry, and if we did, great. Thanks for the great words you posted to welcome us back. They made me smile. :)

Elisa and Goliath: Elisa may look great as a gargoyle, but I too do not think she should become one again. It'd ruin the whole feel of what she and Goliath have, and not really be in keeping with her character IMO. I'm not saying it couldn't make a good story, just that it isn't the best thing for their relationship in my honest opinion. Hope that they can work it out and be happy together the way things are now, they're already well on their way to it with what they've done so far. :)

Katara: Glad that Comic-Con went so well and you had such a great time at it. Thanks for keeping us up to date on events. I envy you getting to meet Greg. <sighs> Someday…

Mary: Another rape? What is going on in your town? Hope that soon the police catch the guys responsible for these things and start enforcing the law. <growls angrily> Your safety remains in my prayers.

Mandi: Glad you had such a nice vacation, and welcome back. Happy Birthday and thanks for saying the same to me, as I said above. <grins>

Archwolf: Winter's Heart will be out in mid-November? Excellent! Thanks for letting us know. I'm not looking as forward to the book as much as I am to Tom Clancy's next Jack Ryan story (The Bear and the Dragon, out next month), but it's still good to know it's on the way.

<scans CR again> I guess that's everything. Thanks again for all the welcome-backs, and thanks in advance to anyone who wishes me a Happy Birthday. I hope I can keep enjoying what's left of it. :) <puts her helmet back on, then turns to her bike and mounts it> Later everyone!! <roars out of the CR, running over and seriously injuring DC as she goes>

**MORE RP HERE**

The screen comes on again, displaying a large repair bay at Area 51. Borg maintenance drones are working on the Onslaught's trailer in it, and Tom, Leah, and Mansfield sit at a table nearby. The latter is looking on as the Ravens' engineer and his fellow commando talk. "So you were too late to save your friend," Leah is sighing. Tom nods. "I managed to get the demon who killed her though. That made me feel a little better." "Avenging people we lose often does that, temporarily," Leah nods. "You think you'll be alright?" Tom nods. "I think so. I just wish Kit would trust you guys. You're on our side, why can't she see that?" "I'm with you, buddy," Mansfield shakes his head. "But I don't blame the lady in charge of your group either. She's got every right to doubt us. We worked for Thailog after all." "Yeah," Leah sighs. "Given the choice now, I would not have worked for him. I mainly joined his side because I was with the General. There were so many things about Thailog I didn't like- he associated with people like Kharsus, Jerec, that crazy Dr. Edison who kept wanting to do experiments on us…" She shakes her head. "Then there's that Gardner woman, his political adviser. She's wacked-out, convinced the world needs cleansing of its 'undesirables.' I think she's insane." "Gardner?" Tom repeats, frowning. "Donna Gardner," Leah goes into further detail. "She was a professor at the University of Texas, political science. She tracked us down through the Marsh Corporation, which she inherited, and joined up. Thailog listens to her about many things." "Blonde?" Tom asks. "Wears a green dress a lot? Kinda looks like Jodie Foster?" Leah nods. "I know who she is," Tom groans. "I had that woman for a class once. Anyone who didn't conform to her philosophy in their papers got a failing grade, no questions." He clenches his fists. "And now she's hooked up with Thailog." "Yeah," Mansfield nods. "So are lots of bad people. The General's an okay guy, we went over to Thailog's side cause of him. But now, as you know, we're thinking of joining you." "Well, I'd be glad to have you along," Tom shrugs. "I think we can trust you. Kit though…" He shakes his head. Leah nods. "She's right in some of her concern. There are those on Thailog's side we do not want to fight- the General and our other friends. Kharsus, Jerec, Gardner, Edison and the clone army he's making, those hackers Tyl and Corax, Nipon and his Imperial troops, them we have no problem with, but the General…" She sighs and Tom nods to show he understands.

Before he can make a response, though, there is a polite "Excuse me." The group turns to see Doug standing next to them. "Hey, Doug," Tom says. "Good to see you. Kit and the others are out looking for you, you know." Doug grimaces, then looks around and nods. "I need to talk to you guys," he says. "Do you have a minute? It's very important." "Sure," Leah replies. "What is it?" "Yeah, you look worried," Tom adds. Mansfield nods in agreement, frowning. "What's the matter?" Tom asks. "I need to ask you guys something," Doug answers. "Something I think only you guys can tell me. I'd ask Kit but…" He sighs. "What?" Mansfield asks. "Just spill it, man." "Yeah," Tom says, grimacing. "You can trust us, or me at least." "Just tell us," Leah says, frowning slightly at Tom's words. Doug sighs. "Okay. Like I said, I'd ask Kit, but…" He shakes his head. "There was this guy I just met, he told me some things that sounded crazy but I need to know if they're right. Since you all once worked for Thailog, I figured you could tell me." "What do you need to know?" Mansfield asks. "Did I ever work with Thailog?" Doug asks. "Was I ever on his side? Ever?" "What?" Tom's jaw falls open. Leah and Mansfield frown and exchange glances, then look back at Doug. "Yes or no?" he asks. "Doug, I don't believe…" Tom shakes his head. "You didn't work with Thailog. Ever. He's always been your enemy. Who told you otherwise?" "Yeah!" a voice barks. "Who?" Doug gasps as he spins around to see Kit and the other Ravens staring at him. The screen locks onto the angered expression on Kit's face, then clicks off.

Jannie > oh, no!!! I wish you the best, so sorry you'll have to miss the con (and more importantly, your meeting with Denis!). I know it's small consolation, but I'll be sure to send you your book asap!

Update > I have been doing NOTHING write-wise this week, been reading instead, totally binging on the Wild Cards books (it's the fault of watching X-Men, putting me in a superheroics mood <g>). Plus, am too excited about our upcoming trip to concentrate on starting a new story. Have been working on catching up on other stuff, including trying to get the August Sabledrake ready to go. It'll even include an excerpt from the new book, and a cover by Spike to go with it! Tim's folks are gone, taking their cat and dog with them, so things can be back to normal around here for a week.

Green Baron....hope to be hearing more from you soon.

Mary Flanders... I'll be saying a few prayers that you remain safe. SUCKS what this world is coming to sometimes.

*kneels down and prostrates before CRZY* I am your most humble and unworthy slave....er assistant. LOL I STILL think Troopers should have Higgins be the one to save the world.. LOL

Jannie...so sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it to G2K. I know that you will be missed there. You will also be in my prayers for a sucessful operation and speedy recovery.

ArchWolf...well..I _had_ to suggest Keith David for something in there, considering how partial I am to his voice. *grabs towel off nearby bed and wipes her chin* Some of the other people suggested were Christian Slater, Kathleen Turner, and lots of other names were suggested. (and of course I can't remember any of them) When Wendy asked what we thought of Leonard DiCraprio..we nearly had an angry mob scene on our hands. LOL I can't wait to get my film developed so I can show you the pictures of Winnowill. If there were ever to be a live action movie, that lady would be PERFECT for the part!

Okay folks... that's all from me tonight. *wanders off singing, "Just Can't Get Enough* ;-p

*Archwolf and Warfrost enter the room, looking beat up and bearing new scars from the battle with RL. The only thing about the Archwolf not in some way torn or scarred is his white shirt with a red wolf's head on the shoulder and the words 'The Light, Manetherin, and Lord Golden Eyes' printed on the back*

Jannie>I wish you the best with your surgery. You are in my prayers.

Katara>Glad to hear you had fun at comic con and that you got to meet the Pini's *Warfrost growls in envy, and recieves a smug glance from Canyon* As for the voices, the only two ppl I could see Keith voicing would be the crazy old Human chief who burns the Wolfriders out of the Father Tree, or Picknose. Oh well, maybe I just don't have the imagination to see him fit anywhere else.

Christine>Have not been around to post much, so I'm sorry if this is late, but I too am sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother

Doug, Kit, and other WoT Fans>It is official, TOR IS releasing Winter's Heart in mid November (exact date still undecided) OH, welcome back Doug and Kit!!

Warpmind><<guy who shot himself with the flare gun. Twice. Within less than ten minutes>>sounds like a group I play the World of Darkness games with. I had a Werewolf character I had who had a talent for jumping out very tall windows for various reasons (and surviving...lemme tell you, it was tough surviving a 14 story fall...thankfuly the vamp i chased out the window broke my fall......). We had one guy accidentally kill another character (a vamp) by turning on a UV light, not knowing this other guy was in the room at the time.

**chips in his own prayer for Jannie** We're all here for ye, lass. Take your time and recover ... you'll be in our collective thoughts.

**chuckles** Ever seen "The Doctor" with William Hurt? He has a good line for a female bypass patient who's concerned about how she'll look after the operation ... he tells her, "You can tell your husband you'll look like a Playboy centerfold." "Really?" "Yep. You'll even have the staple marks to prove it."

**hugs** Apologies if my attempt at humor goes unappreciated. It's really ... kind of intense for me, my grandmother had a bypass my senior year in high school ...

**sighs** Well ... just keep in mind we're all thinking of you, you're in our thoughts, hearts and prayers.

Jannie>> Oh... my... gosh.... I'll be lighting a candle for you when I go by the church in the morning. My father-in-law just went through a multiple bypass and as scary as it may sound right now, with today's technology, the surgery itself isn't that bad at all. All our thoughts are with you.

Goliath&Elisa>> It would not be right to change either of their genetic makeup. this would change them so drastcally they would no longer be the characters we have come to know and love. Instead, they should learn to cope with their differences. I look forward to seeing how the issue of offspring will be settled.

Happiness to all!

*Cyborg sneaks in, wearing her nightie and hugging her Gargy- Bear to her chest* I can't sleep, so I thought I would read a bit more of the room until I nod off. I really should try harder to nod off though since Dad has an early doctor's appointment tomorow.

Mary Flanders (re: rapes)> Scary stuff. That's the good thing about boyfriends, I always know that Stephen will protect me from things like that.
It sounds to me that you may not have to worry about that second rapist. If his identity was so known (since he was at a friend's) they were probably able to pick him up fast. If he had been drinking heavily at that party, it may have been more the alcohol than his actual tendencies.

Jannie>"I'm having a quadruple bypass in the morning" Don't worry, you'll be fine. There was a woman parked in the head case ward while my Dad was there who we all thought had not had a procedure done and was just waiting on tests. Not so. She had had heart sugery and then was up and around and perfectly fine in only a couple of days. It will be a nice little pampered vacation (not as nice as G2K, I know, but you can still keep those of us not able to go company:) ), and then it will be over.

*She curls up in a comfy chair and goes to sleep* Bon nuit

*quick post*

I had my heart catherization test this morning and to my shock - they found 4 blocked arteries! One at 100% and the other 3 at 90%. I'm having a quadruple bypass in the morning. Needless to say, I will not be attending G2K afterall. *speaks thru the tears* I realize that my health is more important, but that does not take away from the disappointment that I feel at this time. The surgeon allowed me to come home for the evening so that I could take care of as many things as possible before having this surgery.
This is a nightmare and a shock! I'll keep in touch via phone with Denis as much as I can.

*holds Denis tightly, wiping the tears away*

*CONTINUED NEWS ABOUT SECOND RAPE*

OK, aparently the two rapes that have happened this past week are not related to each other, so we have two different rapists in Davis. I can't find more in the article because the article ran out of space on the front page, and they did not continue it on any other page in the newspaper. <grrr....>

**Mandi comes into the CR, a bit sunburned and eating a bag of Jelly Bellys.**

Well, now that I've recovered from spending my 21st birthday in OC, a few bits and pieces.

Emmy nominations> Wow. I have never been so not surprised in my entire life. *yawn* You know, I like "The West Wing", my mother loves the show, but they need to institute a limit on how many nomination slots one show can take. Nice to see a writing nod for "Hush," and "Freaks and Geeks" got two nominations... and "Ally McBeal" was largely ignored.

Speaking of largely ignored, though, I'm going to have to vent a tiny tiny bit about this. Maybe I should be glad that N&A got a nomination, but... MAIN TITLE DESIGN??? Did the voters even watch the episodes they were shown? (Or did the producers send their worst eps in?) That's just insulting. I still suspect that Emmy voters don't really watch the tapes - they just skim them and pick out names of overhyped shows they recognize.

Christine> *hugs* I know it's belated, but I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother.

Survivor> Still don't watch it, although I can understand why it's such a hit. "Big Brother," on the other hand... it's on six nights a week now (gag), and the only reason people watch it is because everything else is a rerun.

Fanfic Panel> CANCELLED?? What? I signed up to be on the damn panel too! **groans** I need to e-mail Jubes again - my school account is unreachable and that's where I suppose they're still sending newsletters. *sigh* Well, I guess I don't have to worry about volunteering conflicts. Unfortunately, my plane leaves on Sunday at 1:45, so I can't even go to the unofficial one. :(

Kitania> I know your birthday's around the same time as mine, so Happy Birthday (early or belated)!

Kyryn> << Fair warning, try to stay away from too many Lit courses, as they tend to concentrate on analyzing works to death.>> Hear, hear! (Sorry. Still haunted by English Senior Sem. Will shut up now.)

Entity> Washington College, I've been told, has a good Creative Writing program, but they're on the Eastern Shore of MD, which may be too far out. Also, in '97, the professor in charge of it, Robert Day, took a three-year sabbatical and left a relative newbie in charge of the program (which is why I decided not to go). I don't know who's running the Creative Writing program down there now, but it's supposedly a good program.

**VACATION REPORT!**

I'm going to have to get my friend Jen something nice for her birthday. Around 8:45 Friday night, she finally showed up in her mom's Buick with Michelle and Debbie (they'd come from Frederick, and took a heck of a detour to pick me up), and then we headed down Rt 95 to get to Ocean City. Surprise, surprise, traffic was a pain, but that was the least of our problems. In the middle of the Bay Bridge, with torrential rain pouring down, the passenger side windshield wiper committed suicide. Amazingly enough, the wiper blade, instead of flying off as we'd suspected, got itself stuck between the windshield and the hood, and we managed to recover it. (Debbie's suggestions for a Chinese fire drill were shot down.) We somehow made it to Michelle's friend's apartment around, oh, two in the morning.

Saturday was all right - we went to the beach, Deb and I got sunburned, Jen and Michelle contemplated massing an army of seagulls (Michelle lives in OC, so I couldn't believe she was actually feeding the things), and we eventually dragged ourselves back to shower. The apartment was a block from the boardwalk, on 1st street, so it wasn't a great haul. They took me out to dinner at a place that mercifully didn't humiliate customers on their birthdays, and then we hit the boardwalk.

We didn't go to a bar. Deb wanted to go to the Purple Moose Saloon, but when Michelle gave us the lowdown, we decided not to. (Not for our own safety, but the safety of anyone who tried to harass Jen.) We respectively wasted money on a video game - we were halfway through killing off the end boss when we ran out of quarters - and one of those old time photos. (We picked the gangster scene. All of us were armed. Jen got the tommy gun, of course.) Closest thing we got to a bar was Common Grounds, a coffeehouse/internet cafe which had a fairly decent DJ after 10. I had a pina colada, and then we stumbled back to the apartment and crashed around 3 am - after Debbie finally saw "Dogma." I've seen that movie four times now.

Sunday, we didn't do much of anything; slept til noon, bought some posters, packed up, and left. Although since we were three flights up, Michelle took great delight in throwing the bags that just contained pillows and blankets over the railing. After a bottle of calamine lotion cracked and one of the plastic bags split in two, I made her bring stuff down the conventional way.

On the way back, we got lunch, I finally found a copy of "Hogfather," Deb gave me three pounds of Jelly Bellys for my birthday, we got some Thrasher's fries, and nearly drove to New Jersey before we realized we missed the turn. We didn't get back to my place until 8:30, and Mom got everyone something to drink and gave me my birthday present before the other three finally got back on the road. I crashed around 10.

**END VACATION REPORT!**

Ow. My sunburn just reminded me it was there. Need to pick up my room so the floor's clear and Dave won't step on anything when he comes over tomorrow.

Well, okay, that wasn't "bits and pieces" by any means, but you get the idea.

(P.S. The N&A fandom is still bugging CBS... write to Mel Karmazin on July 31st if you get the chance.)

COMIC CON!!!!

We lived to tell about it.

Katara - It was so great to meet you!! That Troopers panel was awesome!! I loved the response Greg got when they mentioned his work on Gargoyles. YAY! Now we just need to get THOSE Gargoyle fans to G:2001!!

I spent WAY too much money... and had WAY too much fun. Greg took me to see 'Henry V' on Saturday night. I LOVED IT! It was awesome!

I got some GREAT additions to my collections and met some AMAZING people! Katara - we gotta get a Gargoyles panel going at Comic Con next year... Okay?? YAY!

*Warpmind enters, seemingly a bit frantic about something, juggling three CDs.*
Whee! I got Diablo 2! Finally! But guys, don't expect to see me online with it much... too expensive. :(

Anyhew, on to more important matters...

Gside: Fun little world? True, I find myself spending an amazing amount of time there, myself... ;)

Zath: Heh, you've seen the picture of Manxine, who's one of my key characters in my fanfic series, right? Now, look at her picture on my site, and tell me you *really* don't believe I watch "Cats" for those chicks in tight catsuits, eh? ;)

Hmmm... a lot of catching up to do, I suppose - I'll just skim most of this...

Wilek: Your distortion plan makes more sense to me now. :)

Okay, heck with it; I'll just skip the whole dang CR until this post, and start from there next time I get a chance to visit - over one week is just too much. :(

But, stay tuned for Memorable Moments: a page to be added to my site. You see, I GM'ed a Call of Cthulhu game here, well, actually several in a row, and I have written down the most memorable moments from it... like the guy who shot himself with the flare gun. Twice. Within less than ten minutes. (He also accidentally made a toilet explode.) A few entertaining fumbles. And I promise you - with each new game I run, I shall write down the most entertaining situations for future generations. :)

See ya later, gang.
*Checks out.*

Damnit!!! Around Friday night/early Saturday morning, another raped happened in my town. A 20-year-old woman was over at a friend's house having a few drinks, talking to two men whom she had just met, she fell asleep on the couch, and the two men slept behind the couch. The woman soon wakes up, to find one of the men raping her. Now I feel even MORE unsafe. :( I'll give more details once I get my hands on the article from my mom.

****As Kyryn slams open the door, the CR dwellers catch a brief glimpse of DC being chased by a crowd of angry gremlins before the door swings shut****

Urg! I hate it when the net is down, but they had to replace the T1 line here at work.

Entity> Most colleges will offer what is called an English Literature Degree with an emphasis in Creative Writing. Creative Writing courses are usually offered as part of the set of English courses. Fair warning, try to stay away from too many Lit courses, as they tend to concentrate on analyzing works to death. This can result in writing problems as you overanalyze your work before you even get it written. I can't recommend any specific colleges, but I wish you luck in your quest.

Welcome to the newcomers!

Welcome back to Doug and Kit! I hope that you two had a good trip!

Aaron, in response to your Slayers Try questions... =)

**** SPOILERS! SPOILERS! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SPOILERS! ****

Re: Lina's Fangs - different series, different animation style. You can't help but look from Slayers to Slayers Next and notice the incredible difference in the art style... personally, I think Next is the best-looking of the whole Slayers series. But it's an interesting theory, anyways. =)

Re: The "Sorry! Intro Only!" character from the opening... that's Lina's sister, Luna Inverse. She's a knight of some sort, and Lina is both incredibly jealous and incredibly *SCARED* of her. In episode 2 or 3 of Try, IIRC, Filia coerces Lina into helping her by threatening her with some sort of letter from Luna - I don't know for sure, as my experience with Try is limited to the original Japanese taped off Japanese television, so I had no subtitled. ^^;

Hee hee hee. Xellos and Filia... ^_^ I won't spoil too much for you, except to say that their rivalry has very deep roots.

**** THE SPOILERS ARE TOO MUCH FOR ME, GO ON!! GO ON!!! ****

That's it, I guess. ^_^

Aaron drags himself into the CR and flops down in a comfy chair.

Ooh. I spent saturday helping a friend of mine move, and I'm still sore. Anyway...

SOROW> Sorry things are so crazy for you right now. (Hmm, I have trouble remembering to put an a in crazy. Wonder why) Hope things calm down soon. And don't worry, no one here minds if you need to vent a bit.

On a happier note, I did get to pick up the first Slayers Try tape.

************Possible spoilers*******************

I'm probably off base, but I wonder if channeling the Lord of Nightmares doesn't have some lasting effects. I swear Lina's grown *fangs.* It's not just when she's angry or hungry, but in almost every shot, her canines seem longer then they used to be.

In the intro, there's a character with a little sign that says "Intro Only. Sorry" Does anybody know what's up with that? Or is it the demon known as "Lord Not-Appearing-in-this-Series?"

Filia. I like Filia. Heck, I like anybody who keeps an iron morningstar in a garter holster. Plus, the interaction between her and Xellos is pretty amusing. Are there any Filia/Xellos lemons, I wonder.

****End spoilers and post**************

Later.

Thanks Patrick, Niamhgold and Cyborg!

I've seen English Language and Literature a lot, but according to collegeboard.com Creative Writing is what I want. But I'll investigate further.

Thanks immensely for that list, Niamhgold! I'd been skimming over Denison.

If anyone else has names of colleges jump to mind when I say the word "writing" please share! :)

*Cyborg enters by squeezing through the air- vent. She falls to the floor, followed by a large bag. She removes from it a toolkit and her arms and legs. Before she reattaches them, she uses a leg to wack DC.* Boy was it ever hard to get in here. That trap I laid for DC (for helping the Mail Daemon mess up my e- mail) didn't hold for very long, and then in retaliation he made it impossible for me to get in here. Oh well, I'm back now. Now for a catch- up post.

(This is from a looong time ago) Equation> "Where are the women who find brains attractive?" My theory (from a girl's point of view) is that since we were considered second class citezens for so long (in regards to sufferage and such), we got used to choosing weak men as mates, even if we found brains attractive. This would be because the women who find brains attractive probably have brains themselves, and the only way we could excersise those brains is by controling a weak and less inteligent mate.

David G. (re: Utopia reading list)> I would add _Voyage From Yesteryear_ by James P. Hogan (I love his work). It does not really talk about Utopia as such, but it gives some really interesting theories about social structure, and also describes an anarchist society. Incidently, that society manages the problem of scarcity, as well as those other things very well.

Zath (re: class scheduling)> If you work really hard, wake up really early, and get an order from the Prime Minister, you can find out what classes are being offered- for that semester- about a month early, but that doesn't mean that you would get whatever classes you wanted (like what happend to me this summer semester). We only register one week before the semester acually starts. So I guess that means that 'B' ("not know which classes you have at all") is correct.
"I'm one of those rare teenagers who hates to drive" I'm being dragged kicking and screaming into a drivers license, and by the time I get it, I won't even BE a teenager. You are not too rare.

Emambu (re: F.I.V infected cat)> I would explain to the owner that you, believing that cat was a stray, took him to the vet and ask if he wants the results of the check- up.
I know how you feel. I have two cats that I let outside (though we have to limit that due to a new law) and I would hate for one of them to have F.I.V. We also take care of strays (two of them currently). My Dad and I gave one of them a bath recently. I always worry about how those strays are and if they will make my cats sick. I don't like letting mine out when one of them is hanging around.

Entity>"Specifically, I'm aiming for Creative Writing" I would also expand your search parameters for the program title 'Language and Literature', that's what my college calls it.

Top of the page, au revoir.

Greetings everyone! Just a real quick post before running off to work. For anyone that has been interested in my Comic-Con reports, sorry for not posting last night. Got tied up with trying to figure out how to work my new Quick-
Cam. =]

Yesterday was by far the best day of the con for me. Attended the panel for Starship Troopers. That rocked! They showed us one of the episodes, which just happened to be one of the ones that Greg did story editing for. After the show, they also showed us some some CGI that they played around with. It was a parody of a GAP commercial, with the squad singing the song "Just Can't Get Enough" (everybody wears camaflage)and a spoof of Blair Witch. Crzy and I were almost rolling on the floor. That's another reason the panel was so great, I FINALLY got to meet Crzy...*HUGGLES* and Greg, who was sitting on the panel. The poor man was SO AFRAID that we were going to give him a hard time.. but we didn't. We were perfectly behaved women. *weren't we? =p* After the ST panel, I joined Crzy, Greg and Aimee Major for lunch at Kansas City BBQ. After lunch Greg left, and the 3 of us headed back to the con so Crzy could get more cells. *does her donkey impersonation* I had a GREAT time hanging with them and can't wait until G2001! It is _so_ going to _ROCK!_

Well anyways, time for me to get to work. I'm ready to go back, just so I can rest up from my vacation. =] Responses to come later tonight. *another quick huggle for Crzy before dashing out the door*

** Niamhgold enters **

Hey, all! Just thought I'd make one last post before I head out this week...and boy, am I in a wonderful mood!

Why I'm in a wonderful mood: At approximately 3 o'clock in the afternoon yesterday, six days after having my wisdom teeth removed, the pain disappeared :D Yay! I feel like I can take on the world! The oral surgeon was impressed by the speedy recovery, that, and a little miffed at the fact I didn't have to pay for him to heal some post-operative problems ;P But it's just because I told them to take the teeth out about five years before they *had* to. So, anyone who's yet to have them out--Have them out nice and early, and you'll be so relieved that you got it out of your way without hardly any pain!

Emambu: Thanks for the advice on the stitches! They just dissolved yesterday, so I'll be sure to be extra careful! :)

Winterwolf: Muchos hugs for you! ** Hugz ** Your e-mails were a constant source of optimism, support, and entertainment, and I'm sure they're at least partly responsible for my speedy recovery! ^_^

Entity: < Writing college > Hmm...I had a friend in high school who was highly into writing, and she's going to Bucknell. I believe they have a very strong literature department, especially in Shakespeare--I interviewed several professors there for my English thesis and they were pretty knowledgeable. Heh, of course, I went under the guise as a student applicant in order to get their cooperation... ;) Let's see, for writing (including creative writing), there's also:
Adelphi U. in NY,
Amherst college in MA (very good college),
Bennington College in VT (_very_ good, many of my writer friends applied there),
Brown University,
Colgate University, NY (Our class valedictorian went there on a full 4-year and graduate scholarship, with a $5,000 grant and her own, private dorm room >:|; they're very generous, and she wanted to be a political journalist)
Cornell University, NY
Denison University, OH
Illinois Wesleyan University (also very good & generous),
William and Mary University, VA

That's pretty much what I know of off-hand...you may want to check out www.searchsteps.com/college_undergraduate_home_3.htm for a better search engine :)

Doug and Kit: Welcome back! ** Throws confetti ** Yee-haw!

GB: Thank you for the update! We were wondering what had become of you :) Hope everything works out family-wise.

X-men movie: No spoilers, but just wanted to say I loved it! I thought Rogue's portrayal was the best...for reasons already semi-mentioned :)

I think that'll be all for now...I must catch my flight! I should be back around Thurs/fri. Bye!

SJ> Actually, I figured you'd know. I was just using my response to you as a chance to spout off some of the mass of trivia my brain stores instead of useful information. :)

I do hope Rogue ends up pumped a little (or a lot) in a later movie. A major part of the character is the terrible price she pays for her power.

ABADDON 13 - We're getting Season Three finished (as far as Breakdowns are concerned), we really are! It's just that we've got a rather small staff at the moment, and there's been a fair amount of illness, computer breakdowns, and heavy doses of RL that have gotten in the way. We're not neglecting it - not intentionally - but there have been a number of problems. Please be patient with us.

And I agree with Patrick that Elisa should definitely NOT be turned into a gargoyle.

Entity > I've never heard of any colleges that offer writing majors... what you really want, I think, is a college with a strong Enlish and Literature program. And you can start finding information about what kind of programs different colleges have to offer by visiting your high school's guidance office. There's also lots of reference books available at your local library to help you begin the search.

Goliath & Elisa > I'm not sure magically turning Elisa into a gargoyle would be any great "wedding" present. To begin with, who is anyone to assume that Elisa would _want_ to be a gargoyle full time? The rest of her life as she knows it (work, family, etc) would be OVER if such a thing ever happened. I know this "solution" to the major hurdle that Goliath and Elisa have in front of them is a common one in fanfic... but that doesn't necessarily make it a good one. It seems like a simple thing, but too often the pitfalls and new difficulties it would create are overlooked. If such a dramatic change were to happen, life will not instantly be "happily ever after" for either character. At least not if one was to remain true to the "Gargoyles" universe as established in the show.

Only 11 days remaining until The Gathering.

Hey all,

I come with a favor to ask. I figure since the fandom is pretty much split between either writers or artists, I got a pretty good shot at success here.

Anyone know of a good writing college?

If anyone has any recommendations, they'd be very appreciated. I can't find squat elsewhere. If you know of a good one in Ohio, specifically, that'd be great. I know what colleges offer writing, I just don't know where to go from there. So, again, any help is appreciated.

(Specifically, I'm aiming for Creative Writing. If that's the stupidest major to pursue... please feel free to let me know of that, as well:)

Hello, folks! I have news...though I will not be there, my artwork is going to the Gathering, as supervised by my bro Brian. And in that news, I'm currently working on a special piece just for the G2K!

XMEN MOVIE SPOILERS! *I think*

Overall, the movie rocked. I loved it...of course, me being the teeny little nitpicker, I did notice that a) Magneto is supposibly immune to Rogue's abilities in the comic, b) Rogue's name was revealed to be Carol, not Marie, and c) NO GAMBIT!!! GAH!!! Okay, so C was the biggest problem for me...but hey, they made up for it with a kickass Wolverine...Hugh Jackson...oh, nice! And I loved the interaction between Wolvie and Cyclops, esp. in the Statue of Liberty scene..."How do we know you're the real Wolverine?" Hee hee hee...that and the metal detector scene, where he flips Cyke off...cheers to the movie to highlighting my second-favourite X-Man (the first being the Ragin' Cajun). Also, I saw Monet St. Croix "M"...a black girl wearing a plaid skirt and sweater vest over a white shirt, her head held high with her nose stuck in the air, and I think Skin--there was a greyish dude there...and I did pick out Pyro, though Stephen says it's Rusty Collins, I don't think it is...Magneto and Xavier were well done, and, most importantly, Wolverine kicked ass... ;)

*END X-MEN*

Okay, I work on Gathering pic...

Hello, all. I've been lurking for a while, waiting to make some responses, but I'll be replying later, probably tommorrow. Right now, my main reasn to post is for an update on my life. As I mentioend earlier, I'm speaking to my fateh rgaain. My mother is not too happy with me renewing thsi relationship with my father, so she asked me to leave. I ma now at my father's apartmnet (a mile away) and using his Bell South DSL coinnection as opposed to home.com :)

In all honsty, I am happier away from my mother, though. I am still surprised by my mother's reaction, though. Not much to say for now, though my father is thinking of getting an ew computer depending on MRMA (Mississippi River Martime Association)'s budget so I may get this one and have a DSL line, but I'll let you know more about that, later. I just figured you may want toknwo what's going on with me.

Bye for now.

David G: Dude, you fail to realize what a supreme X-men fanboy I am. I know Rogue originally was a teenager, she got her powers from Ms. Marvel (well, the heavy duty ones anyway), I know that in the movie her character filled in the Kitty Pryde / Jubilee role with Wolverine....I know all that. I'm just used to an adult Rogue kicking ass, and instead in the movie she's a teenager that is pretty much a female version of Robin the Boy Target. But hey, after seeing the movie, I like what they did with her, and I couldn't suggest doing it any other way. I have no complaints, I'm just used to something a little different. I've read the backissues, but I'm young enough that when I originally jumped on board the X-Men bandwagon, Rogue was pretty much a young woman and no longer a teen.

Still, in one of the sequels, and I'm sure there will be another, maybe they can have her get a little 'pumped up'. ;)

Speaking of the movie, it pulled in about 23 mill this weekend. That's about a 56 percent drop from the previous week....which kind of worries me, but then again it did have some strong competition in the form of the Harrison Ford / Michelle Pfeiffer "What Lies Beneath" (which, apparently, is hugely popular among women) and, of course, the world-consuming Pokemon movie. Still, I'm happy with the progress of the flick. By now, it's probably made over a 100 million, and that's only in two weekends.

Hey, everyone.

Just a quick update... the G2K unofficial fanfic panel entitled "Bend It, Don't Break It: Making Improbable Occurances Logical in the 'Gargoyles' Universe" has been tentatively rescheduled for 2 PM on Sunday, August 6. A time change was necessary due to other changes that were made in the Sunday con schedule. It may change again... I will update again if it does.

I can't wait to see everyone in Orlando. :)

SJ> um...Rouge originally WAS a teenager. The X-men movie is made up of about three different bits of original comic book continuity all ran together. The basic plot is more or less similar to Uncanny X-men number 1 with elements of some stuff from the 80's and early ninties thrown in. The version of Rouge they were using was _Fairly_ close to the comic character's real origin.

When she was a teenager, she kissed a boy and her powers kicked in and put him in a coma, so she ran away from home. In the comics, she was taken in by Mistique, who was forming a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

In the movie, she plays a role more like what Kitty Pride in the 80s and Jubilee in the 90s did for Wolverine - being the soft foil to his hardbitten cynicism and inspiring him to be a "good guy." (And having a crush on him)

In the comics, Rouge eventually totally absorbed the powers of Ms. Marvel (super strength, damage resistance, flight, and a funky danger sense power that the X-men writers always ignore). She joined the X-men hoping that Charles Xavier could help her get rid of Ms. Marvel's psyche. I'm personally wondering what the movie franchize will do with that development...

*****COMIC-CON 2000...day 3*****

THE TICK LIVES!!!!!!

Yes people you heard me right! The Tick will be returning to Fox sometime in January. It's to be a live action show, and is supposed to air during prime-time. The writer that I talked to today didn't have any information about what day or time unfortunetly. It should prove interesting to see how they manage to pull this off.

No other real news to report for today, except that I did manage to encounter several Gargoyle fans while roaming around the con floor. Of course it helped that I was wearing my black Goliath G2K shirt. =] I lost count of how many people told me how much they loved the show and wonder what ever happened to it. Well, being the good CR dweller that I am, I was more than happy to turn them in this direction and spread the word of the Gathering! lol

Well folks, that's all from me for now. Got to go soak my ankles. They aren't very happy with all the extra standing and walking I've been doing the last few days. I'm ready to go back to work on Monday just so I can get some rest! =]

Until tomorrow..... SPOOOOOOOOON!!!!!

Huh, not much to say this time.

Female Brooklyn> <<Anyone have an idea when the new TimeDancer will be out?>>: We got to the season finale already. Need to wait for the other series to rotate through, first.

Welcome R MacD

And it is time for another mp3. I present a rather odd little song, but one that I like. Sun on Moon by James Taylor.

Just wanted to tell you guys that I love the Idea of Keeping the TV show alive in the Internet world. I disccovered the site about a week ago and I am already finished season 1 and have started the second. I'm already looking forward to a season 3. I would like to know if you have a Mailing list for episodes... If not I strongly recommend one.

Great work.

**Winterwolf enters**

Hi to all my CR friends! I feel happy! :)

Niamhgold> <next week> I'll miss you while you're gone! Have a great time! <email> Got your email! Hope you are all better now! I'll be sending you some a big reply later. ^_^

Katara> <Greg> You'll get to see him before I do! Make sure you ask him all your gargoyle questions. ;)

Gargoyle Wings> Some very interesting thoughts here! I'm going with thin muscle membranes myself but each of the ideas has merit. Anyone get an answer from Greg about this?

Female Brooklyn (Grinz) and David G> Welcome back!

Janine> I'll be sure to be on Sunday night. Hmm, maybe I should just say later today? Catch you then. <dream> Interesting. I'm going to have to ask when I see you.

Brooklyn> Got the picture! Great job. See you online Sunday night.

SOROW> :( **Hugz** I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong. With all the pressure wedding details can bring, the smallest things easily upset loved ones causing them to lash out. Hope all is better now. <looking up> I'm happy for you. Good to know it is better now.

Fire Storm> <coconuts> Well if a swallow were to carry a coconut... A swallow is too small to carry a coconut! Okay, how about an African swallow? Yes, but an African swallow is migratory bird! Two swallows then using a line to carry the coconut...

Rodlox> Hi Rodlox! Welcome back! <like any of you missed me> **Winterwolf gives Rodlox a hug.** I hope you feel better now. ;)

Time for some sleep. Good night!

Female Brooklyn> <<any idea what the movie is about????>> I have no idea what the plot will be. That little thing I posted was the entire article, which I cut and pasted directly from Dark Horizons, so you know as much about it as I do at this point. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. : (

Hi everyone. I just wanted to apologize for my rant yesterday. It was very childish and uncalled for, I know. But things are looking up, the wedding was beautiful (a little casual and different) and people are talking to me. But I'm tired.

You missed me? You really missed me! ::sniff:: I feel so "special." Of course I'm always "special" so...

Sorry I haven't been around much (at all?) this week. Life and all that. I just got back from picking up my brother from the airport. He's visiting from SC. Hour and a half drive each way plus the flight was late. And they had trouble getting the luggage compartment open. Ack.

Christine:
The chat was great! Thanks for arranging it. Maybe this should be a regular event. I was up til 3:30 EDT, but some maniacs, whose initials are LM, FS, and JF, were up til 6am! Such stamina!
