The impossible has happened, Rutgers has won a football game. Of course, this was against a team not even in our division, so it's not like it really matters.

Warpmind> <<YOU brought the whole question up in the first place>>: Actually, that was Rodlox, check the archive at http://tgs.gargoyles-fans.org/cr/archive/2000/07-09-2000.html in the middle of Friday afternoon.
<<I've been pimping your books at Callahans>>: Warpmind, the literary superpimp.

Shaodwrider> <<jello wrestling seems to me more...interesting than mud wrestling>>: Are you sure the word you're looking for isn't "tasty."

Warpmind is expecting me to post a specific and odd mp3 today, but I think I'll put it off for a while. You will know it's coming soon when you see The Mighty Quinn. Due to a request a couple weeks back the new mp3 is The Kefka theme from Final Fantasy VI/III by the Boston Pops (who rock my world). Wilek where did you go?

**PARENT RANT**
My doctor told me one thing to do and my dad wants me to seemingly do the opposite. Since we both have the same doctor, I might be tempted to call my doctor and ask him to tell the idiot (at the idiot's next appointment) what the doctor told me about resting my back.

I am NOT going to tell my dad about my plans for going until about 2 months beforehand, if that much warning.

My dad does not understand Science Fiction and given some of his attitudes, I think postponing telling him is the best idea.
**END PARENT RANT**

**Needless Rant About Interrupted Previous Plans For This Weekend.**
I was planning on finally purchasing a new computer and monitor this weekend. Of course, it would take about 4 days to receive it, but I was looking forward to it a lot. My plans were interrupted when my accident happenned.

Darn back problems and darn present and future medical bills. My medicine so far that I am taking has NOT done anything for my back problems. Zero, zilch, nada, absolutely nothing. YET. It hurts to stand for long periods of time (10 minutes and longer). I just want to wake up and stand up as often and as long as I want to without feeling any back pains. I am so desperate that I was thinking if my back pains do not go away, about getting a handicap sticker so I do not have to walk so far.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

This is just to let everyone know that I am going to be uploading a LOT of stuff to the server. The CR pics directory will be cleaned out and updated to include the new pics. So pics in here might not load properly or at all, at least for a while. Some may also end up missing permanently, as dictated by the results of the update. You still won't be able to use most of the images until Gorebash gets a chance to update the necessary data, that is once Fire Storm gets the coding done and sent to him.

FYI, just doing this now, beforehand, so we won't have to do it later. Sorry for any inconveniences.

I'm off to upload, will notify all when I finish...

*Crosses fingers hoping it won't crash WyrernWeb or take too much time*

Hi to everyone! Still busy, so I'll just make a quick pass of replies.

So, in U.S. Mononoke is already on video? Oh, well, maybe there's hope sooner or later they'll release it even here...

Warpmind:> <<...Martial Arts were, as you said, not created to break some jerk's face, but rather to avoid HIM breaking YOUR face...>> Yes, it is so. More or less...;)

Niamhgold:> Thank you. Don't worry, things will get better after Tuesday's exam (Actually, I'm not really worried about the exam itself...I have something else in mind, so I practically don't care if I'll pass it or not...)

Winterwolf:> Yes, probably once the exam will be over, things will improve...anyway, this time will be difficult. It is one of the though ones, and I'm not exactly *prepared* (as you can imagine, I have something else to care about these days...)
Gargoyles ticklish? Hmmm...I hope for them they are...and I've never seen any hint suggesting they are not...although, for being able to dig in the steel with their bare fingers without harming themselves, they have to be very hard fingertips...

Aaron:> <laughs> I see...don't worry, you're not the only one...

Fire Storm:> Hm, I hope that jerk will stop harassing you...anyway, you did the right thing in going to the police.

Doug:> You liked Warcraft II's cinemats? Then you should see Starcraft's ones...there are some that are really *fantastic*...I assure you!

Gside:> Thank you for the Jell-0 explanation. By the way, a jello wrestling seems to me more...interesting than mud wrestling...;)

Gotta go. See you all.

Christine: I don't think you need to go that far, just send the second copy ASAP. I will be able to handle and murder Stephanie if necessary. <growls> ("Okay, I have thought this through. I will send Bart the money to fly home. Then I will murder him." "NO!!! Then he'll know I told!")

Rest assured that your book is very much worth all the squabbling we're doing over it. :)

Doug > Tim got it all straightened out. Wow, by the sounds of it though, I should just come to your house, sit all three of you down, and read it aloud to you so there's no more squabbling over that one copy! ; )

Aaron > LOL ... that's all we need, out muses busting out like aliens ...

*Warpmind enters, coughing his lungs loose.*
Aw, this damn cold isn't over yet... *Grimace* I haven't even slept properly for three days (not to mention the nights in-between). :(

Winterwolf: And if we add a bit of guarana and just a *wee* dose of other potent uppers, we could have a problem on our hands. ;)

Aaron: You got to meet Marina Sirtis this week? *Ponder* So, how was it to meet her in person? Did she remind you more of Demona or Deanna Troi? ;)

Gyre: LTNS! Welcome back, amigo.

Fire Storm: I am an archiver too. In the sense that I never bother to clean out my in-box. ;) Oh, and Ash Ketcham with chainsaw and double-barreled saw-off... ROFLMAO!

Mandolin: Well, my fever is gone; now it's just the stuff that's clogging up mu windpipe... :( Still, with liberal application of cough syrup and Fisherman's Friend, I may endure this ordeal...

Gside: The Solar Flare: I asked you because as I recall it, YOU brought the whole question up in the first place. :) (It's a while back - I think it was around the time when Christine announced the book was being printed.) As for the other stuff... Righto. ;)

Well, that's about it... oh, wait, one last thing...

Christine: I'll have to admit something... I've been pimping your books at Callahans. :) You just might have some upcoming orders (unless they order from Amazon.com instead, that is). *Looks around* What, it was a discussion on good SF/F literature. :)

Well, that's it. Adios.

**RP WARNING**

"That's it!" Kovu yells in triumph as his two flamethrower-wielding minions continue to turn their weapons on Terrell's house. "Burn it! Roast them in their sanctuary! How you like that, Terrell? We have always been rivals, and now you are defeated! Ahahahaha!" Tiara shakes her head and grimaces as she listens to him. Suddenly the moment is shattered as gunfire erupts from the wide roof of the stalagmite-house. It smacks into the napalm-filled backpack of one of the flamethrower-wielders, and he roars in shock just before a huge explosion consumes him. The other one roars in anger and tries to get a bead on the shooter, but a grenade landing next to him is faster and its burst sets off the second caiveh's napalm tank, taking him out too. "Shoot whoever that is!" Tiara orders her and Kovu's ten remaining followers, who grimace, roar, and snarl as they turn their weapons at the roof. The laser fire sprays all over the place, but hits nothing but stone and flame. Then there is a sharp crack, and one of the shooters topples with blood spurting from his head. "Where did that come from?" Kovu growls, looking around for a muzzle flash. "Where is he?" "Never mind!" Tiara retorts as another of their shooters falls in the same manner as the first. "We must retreat! This isn't Terrell, he shoots too good. We must find Terrell and I have a way! Let's hurry!" Kovu nods, growling, and then he, Tiara, and their remaining minions turn to run off. A few more are cut down as they flee, leaving seven as well as the two leaders. From his post in the shadows atop a roof adjacent to Terrell's house, Bessus watches them go and smiles as he ejects a shell casing from his flash-suppressor-equipped PSG-2 sniper's rifle. "You started this war," he shakes his head at Kovu and Tiara. "I regret having to fight it." Drawing his Bowie knife, he leaps down from the roof and goes to make sure all the enemy caiveh who were left lying on the battlefield below are dead or restrained.

"This is Colonel Benji Amad of the Israeli Army," a small Palestinian with a bushy mustache is saying into a phone elsewhere. "Hello Fasil, good to talk to you once more. It has been months. How is your family? And my comrade Bessus? Good that they are well. You have an emergency?" He pauses and listens. "I see," Amad then says after Fasil is done. "Obviously you are in need of assistance. I can provide it easily. Give me a day. Right, I shall meet you tomorrow in that place. Talk to you soon." He hangs up and then turns to his listening adjutant. "Get me General Earle on the phone. Then Commander Ivan Uralyev. We require the aid of STRIKE." "Yes sir," the aide nods, then goes to carry out his orders as the screen goes blank.

**CYBER-COOKIE TO WHOEVER CAN NAME THE VIDEOGAME SERIES WE'RE BRINGING IN NOW. :) END RP FIRST BIT**

Hi everyone. Hope y'all are doing okay. Sorry I haven't posted before now this week, work and the start of my last semester of college have kept me very busy. But the pressures of them have eased now, so I'm able to come in here. <grins> Saw the new Highlander movie tonight. **SPOILERS** Yes, Mandi, I know I wasted my money. <grimace> The movie was just plain bad in so many ways. :( They had a story that could have been great, but instead they only made it make sense to Highlander fans, and even those people didn't like it very much if Stephanie's reaction to the film and what you said is anything to go by. They had so many cool things in the film- immortals who used weapons other than swords, an immortal Jet Li (or at least a fair facsimile), the most intriguing female immortal character I've ever seen, lots of great dialogue, etc- and they messed it all up in bad ways. Not to mention killing off the cool characters. <sigh> Oh well, at least Connor's death was good, the swordfights were pretty exciting and neat to watch (though Quickling immortals shouldn't bleed, their blood is lightning!), and the villain had his moments. Yeah, he turned out to be uninteresting and pretty cliched in the end, but I did get a lot of material out of him that I can use for Zack's arch-nemesis, the evil Quickling paladin Lysander Graves (who is one of four more dangerous Quicklings I currently have plans for him and the clan to meet), if I ever get back to writing. The film had its ups and downs, the downs far more in number. :( I'm real glad the franchise is done, or so it seems. <grin> **SPOILERS END**

Thanks go out to all who have given kind words about my fanfic situation. I too hope that I will be inspired to begin writing again someday soon. I look forward to that day very much. Keep hoping, and sending feedback and Ask Doug e-mails, and the chances will remain good that it will come. :) Remember, the forum is open for questions. All you have to do is send them in. I am eager to receive.

One event this week I feel I must note- the last issue of Preacher came out. That's right, a great comic I and many others will truly miss is now gone. <sigh> If you haven't gotten the last issue, I recommend you do so. **SPOILERS** It clears up a whole lot of mysteries in the series and brings things to a very nice conclusion all around. Especially liked what was done with Cassidy and the Saint of Killers, Jesse and Tulip's happy ending was nice too. They unfortunately didn't resolve the fate of God in a way I entirely liked, nor do they answer the question of whether Skeeter was him or not (I still think he was, too many amazing things happened around that dog for it to be otherwise. Read the Salvation issues and you'll see what I mean. It would have been cool if it would have been so, too. I've always thought that when in Issue 49 God confronts Jesse and tells him to "stop threatening me or be…you," he is realizing that by going after God and doing the right thing, Jesse is being himself. Having God realize this, and then disguising himself as Skeeter to learn more about his adversary and becoming endeared to Jesse as a result, thus accepting Cassidy's deal more easily and then, knowing Jesse and the Saint's plan, letting everything be resolved somehow where it would turn out good for all parties, would have been very interesting. It would have made God an evolving instead of static character, and satisfied us good Christian readers more than what happened to God in the last issue IMO. But what we saw is good too, and what I proposed here could have still happened behind the scenes- maybe the Saint shot an illusion. Maybe. :). All in all, it was a great ending to a fantastic series. Preacher fans should definitely pick it up. Non-Preacher fans need to pick up the whole series and read from the beginning, the graphic novels they've put the issues into should help. I guarantee everyone will enjoy reading this comic very much, though I must remind all that it is not for the bigoted, the religiously wacked-out (though the devout will enjoy it, if Shap and Kevin Smith are any key), or the immature. :) Thanks to Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon, and the whole Preacher team for so many wonderful stories, hope more are ahead for you soon. May the Word of God, and the memories of the great drama, dialogue, artwork, and characters (Starr, Hoover, and Featherstone especially since they were my favorites) you created live forever. :) **SPOILERS END**

**MORE SPOILERS** Thanks also to the TGS Staff for the latest episode they published. I enjoyed it a lot. Good to see attention paid to Molly again, and her and Rory becoming friends and working together once more. Leba's relationship with each of them also makes for great drama, hope it continues to get explored. Brianna's development is also appreciated, for a long while I thought she had been ignored, and I didn't like it. Good to see her getting attention now, and friends. :) Not sure what I think of Jane yet, I have to see a new character in at least two episodes before I render an opinion, but the bits with her in this ep were pretty good as far as establishment goes. Also liked seeing the Pendragon cast up against Isfet, knights and dragons have to duel sooner or later. :) I look forward to seeing how her plans get enacted, hope they will be explored soon. Maybe we'll see Fafnir and Albion again. :) The plot, artwork, and dialogue were all good in this ep too. Apart from what Kit mentioned about the pacing, I really didn't see any problems with it. Enjoyed the read, looking forward to the next ep. Keep up the good work! **SPOILERS DONE** Now on to replies.

Gside: Never considered level building that way, I always liked it myself. There is something to be said for killing strong foes for fun and profit. <shrugs> Oh well, I got the game today, so we'll see how I like the system. Hope it lives up to the hype. Also planning to soon get Parasite Eve 2, Warcraft 3, Lunar 2, and Duke Nukem Forever, if they come out this year like they should. :)

SOROW: We noticed your absence! :) Hope you can get over your stress soon and come back, we don't want to be without a friend any longer than we have to. :)

Happy Belated Birthday Kyryn! Glad that it went well.

Christine: Hope you got my voice and e-mails regarding the copy of Dark of the Elvenwood. May the book soon be sent, if Kit and Stephanie don't stop fighting over it soon… <sighs> Oh well, at least you may get a good filk out of this. If I can get Stephanie to send it to you and apologize. IF. :)

Niamhgold: Glad to know you're getting a lot of art and fanfic work done, hope I can soon see it. It's very refreshing to know that the writers whose work you follow, especially those who you consider better at the craft than you, aren't putting their stuff on hiatus even though you have to. <grin> And yes, if the creativity demons come back, and I get the time to indulge them, I will resume writing again. So far neither has shown much sign of happening, unfortunately. <sigh>

Firestorm: Kit and I have indeed missed a lot of Daria's last season, we need to catch up desperately. Unfortunately, not having MTV and the fact that Gubio hasn't taped every episode makes things a bit difficult. <sigh> Thank you for telling us about her and Trent, we regret to hear of their decision, but we can accept it. She seemed pretty happy with that Tom guy in the movie, so that's good too. :) The Quinn development in the movie was way better, of course. I too hope it was not the series finale. <fingers crossed> Good luck soon getting things straightened out with that guy threatening you, the cops better put him away for a long long time. :)

Emmabu: Hope I get to see Bedazzled soon. I keep expecting it to come out, and then it doesn't. The wait better not be too much longer. (One fanfic cast addition I must make now that I think about it- Brendan Fraser voices VJON.) Don't worry, I will post a review of the film in here when I see it. Thanks again for your feedback on NotS 1, hope to get more from you soon. :)

DPH: Glad things are getting straightened out with your accident, I've been hoping. Too bad the cops who originally got the case were inept and didn't get the full facts (or so it sounds). I pray things will soon be fully resolved. :) Hope your work woes will be fixed up soon too, and that co-worker disciplined or fired. Maybe the reason he isn't gone is that they have nobody to replace him. We have that situation at my job right now, unfortunately. Two people quit on us, and of the remainder, we have one who does things like put bricks on the gas pedal of the patrol vehicle and then lay back and let it drive for her unsafely, do reports at home instead of while on duty like she's supposed to, not take the work seriously, and never learn from her mistakes; another guy who's a big fat bag of hot air and thinks he can tell everyone how to do their job when he can't even do his job correctly (the boss caught him sleeping on duty once, he doesn't patrol as often as he should, doesn't listen to other people, always leaves the patrol vehicle a huge mess, need I go on?); and another guy who never shows up on time and tried to frame a fellow officer for leaving cigarette butts all over the cart when he was chewed out about it by that officer (who's a respected veteran and good friend of mine), and who also lost our gas can and blamed it on the boss not telling him of a secure place to put it. <grumbles> We want to stop having to put up with these people, but a personnel shortage prevents us from firing them. I really hope things can change soon. <fingers crossed>

David G: Congrats on the new car, hope it works out for you. Kit and I recently traded our old one and our savings in for a new 2000 Ford Focus, it's been performing well so far. Hopefully it will continue. It is riding on Firestone tires, so I do have my worries. <sigh>

Janine: Glad your school is going okay so far, congrats on beginning it. Please keep us up to date on the events and if necessary we'll send our prayers.

Shadowrider: I agree about Blizzard cinematics, haven't seen Diablo's but if those in Warcraft 2 are anything to go by the company definitely does a great job. Especially like the Orc ending <King whimpers "Guards…." :)>.

Mary: Glad your school has also started off well, and you have interesting teachers. Mine are a mixed bag- one is dynamic and cool in his delivery and visual aids, the second is so-so and pretty average, and the third asks too much work of us and could bore a rock. <sighs> This is my last semester of college, so I will make sacrifices with the latter. <fingers crossed> I hope that for both of us things turn out well. Good luck learning Japanese, and with the various classes and clubs.

Rodlox: $ Not much else in the RP right now, really. You have to write your character yourself if you want him to do any really cool stuff. <grin> $ Welcome back.

Robby: Congrats on beginning college, hope it keeps going as well as it has or better. Glad that you have time to post regularly again even while taking classes. :) $ Also good to see the Ten saga back in the RP plotline, though I did think you had more planned for Three. <shrugs> Oh well. $ Thanks for the great Daria news.

Revel: Glad your college has begun, and is somewhat well. Good luck with it, and also resolving your modem woes and surviving the heat. Hope you can soon post again. :)

That's about all for now, I'll see you again next week. May we all have an excellent weekend, do well at our jobs if we have to work, and may the worries and problems in our lives soon be resolved. And may they soon release better movies (not to mention good stories, and may they do the right thing with films like Mononoke soon too)! <fingers crossed> Until next time.

**RESUME RP- RAVENS' SAGA**

"Have you hacked into Ted Turner's computers yet?" Admiral Nipon is asking Guod (whose face is on his laptop's computer monitor) as the screen comes back on. "I managed to do it several hours ago," the AI grins. "Just give me a little more time, and I'll have downloaded what we need." "What's holding you up?" the blue-skinned alien growls. "There are a lot of files on here," Guod chuckles in reply. "I have to sort them by usefulness. Just give me a little more time." "Time we may not have," Nipon grumbles. "If you're detected…" "He already has been," a solemn voice interjects. Nipon spins around, gasping as he hears it. He frowns, unable to pinpoint the source. "We're right here!" another voice says. "Narf!" Nipon looks down and raises his eyebrows as he sees the speakers. "You're demons?" he asks. "Actually we are a pair of genetically engineered lab mice who want to stop Ted Turner from achieving world domination," Brain answers. "I think perhaps we share the same goals." "That's why we came to talk to you once we detected your intrusion into his computers," Pinky adds. "Poit!" "I see," Nipon grimaces. "Well, um, perhaps you can help me. I need to discover his plans for conquest and my associate here is having some trouble with it." "Let me assist you then," Brain nods at Guod. "A boost, please." Nipon nods, still grimacing in disbelief as he reaches down and picks Brain and Pinky up.

The display alters to the Nevada-Utah border highway, where the Ravens are scrambling to fight back against the planes attacking them and get under cover as they circle around again. "You go for the bomber!" Kit yells at Elena as they fly beside each other towards the planes. "The rest of us got the jets." "Cierto!" Elena replies, readying herself to launch beams of energy. Kit aims her rocket launcher meanwhile and blows up an F-18 as its pilot tries to target her with a Stinger. Two more planes fire their missiles, but Jammer reacts quickly and sends missiles from the Onslaught's launcher to intercept and destroy them. Orion downs a second F-18 with a bolt of holy lightning, while Leah gets another with the tank's main cannon and Doug and Boris both fire rifle grenades that hit and destroy a third. The remaining F-18's pilot manages to hit the tank with a Hellfire missile, but it barely does any damage thanks to the heavy armor. Mansfield quickly sticks his head up and targets the plane with the tank's machine gun, then disintegrates its wing in a spray of shells. The pilot manages to get off a missile at Mansfield before he goes into a death spiral and his plane blows up, killing him. The missile streaks forward, then suddenly blows up thirty feet from target. "Hmm," Tom frowns. "I didn't see anyone shoot that." "Maybe we got lucky," Mansfield laughs. Leah shrugs. "Maybe." "Kit, the bomber!" Doug shouts meanwhile, and Kit looks at Elena, who is firing energy bolts at the B-2 Spirit and seems to be missing every time. "What's the matter?" Kit asks her, gliding up alongside. Elena shakes her head. "I don't know. I'm aiming, but they won't hit!" As Kit stares at her in confusion, the bombardier sets up a target lock with his ordinance and Clarence and Victor ready their plane for a dive.

**UH OH- SOMETHING'S GOING ON HERE. WE'LL SEE WHAT NEXT TIME. END RP**

***HIGHLANDER SPOILERS***
They killed off Connor? I'm actually relieved. I'd be much more upset if they had given Duncan the axe.

I'm sorry if that offends some of you. But I look at it this way: which would I rather have die? Connor, the star of *one* good Highlander film, and two very, very, very, VERY bad ones (Mario Van Peebles, the tribe has spoken. Your career has been voted out of Hollywood). Or Duncan, the star of the cool Highlander tv show, which was very entertaining for several years. My choice is to keep Duncan around.

Plus this is sort of symbolic. Christopher Lambert passing the torch, so to speak, to Paul. If this movie does well, maybe they'll make another one. Or give us another spin-off show (personally, I always thought that Methos should have been given his own series).

Well, once again the fates have conspired against us in the suites. We had a blackout for an hour or so. Of course the light were on on the other side of the street.

Warpmind> <<Christine/Gside: Do you guys by any chance remember the Magelore Solar Flare debate>>: Why are you asking me?
<<Last I checked, that was the description of organ donation>>: Also used for blood donation.
<<Threats to your physical existence, now there's another matter entirely>>: My physical existance is unimportant. My mind can live on without my body.

Winterwolf> <<You made the room have a horizontal scroll bar>>: Links are excuseable. The long exclamations tend to bother me more (as they can be broken up).
<<Griff and Brianna tickling incident. So is this an exception or the norm?>>: I never actually came to a conclusion. It can go either way.

Aaron> <<Am I the only one amused that the Station 8>>: I'm getting there, I'm getting there. Could you give me time to get over the daily network downtime and for my roomies to get their IPs (currently I have the only connected computer here).

Welcome back Gyre.

Niamhgold> <<because of the ethylene oxide>>: Ahh, my bad. Though supposedly you are able to set off a geiger counter if you eat a bananna earlier because of the trace radioactive potassium.

Fire Storm> Good luck with your stalker.
<<But it's the mean thought that counts>>: Expos alone is an evil thought.
<<Sharpee. Office Depot. 12 for $6>>: I meant more directory structure and acutally deciding what should go and what should stay.
<<Or is it Ms?>>: Mlle is Ms, Mme is Mrs.

Quickie from my room at school (which has become the designated site of tonight's Powerpuff Girls marathon). I haven't been here in forever, so I'm not going to try to catch up all the way. :)

Witchblade> The ratings for the initial run of the movie were very good for TNT; according to Comics Continuum, it got a 4.5 rating, and was the #1 movie of the week. TNT still hasn't said whether or not it's going to be a series, but they can't complain about the ratings.

"The Reluctant Thief"> I can only take a tiny bit of credit since I only worked on parts of the outline (the Rory/Molly parts, mostly), and I've got to say that Aerie did an excellent job of writing the episode. <<is it just me, or does Molly *not* want Leba to know what she did?>> Leba just thinks Molly was mixed up with the Minions, and doesn't know her true nature - and Molly would prefer it that way. (Leba's already hostile towards Molly; can you IMAGINE if she found out Molly was really the Banshee and sided with the Unseelie?)

As for Molly still being detectable in her human form - well, Oberon was actively looking for Puck in "The Gathering, Part One." We've never said that he's actively seeking out the Banshee...

Now another note that I feel obliged to pass on: when it comes to "Highlander: Endgame," I'd advise folks to save their money.

**"HIGHLANDER: ENDGAME" SPOILERS!!**

They killed off Connor. They had Duncan take Connor's head at his request. We were not happy (in fact, Michelle and Ruth were screaming when we left the theater).

It might not have been so bad if the villain in this movie, the reason that Connor told Duncan to kill him, wasn't so damn irritating. The actor must have graduated from the William Shatner school of Over-Dramatic Pauses, and he gasped out every line. You know, if they were going to kill Connor off, you'd think they'd AT LEAST give us a decent villain. True, they didn't kill Methos off, but he didn't show up for very long.

Warpmind> <<I've got some freaky cold-virus-on-steroids. Nothing worse.>> Yeah, well that's still no walk in the park. Hope you're feeling better as I write this. :(

Kyryn> Happy (very) belated birthday!
Am I overreacting? I was never a very regular "Highlander" viewer, and the movie pissed me off. The die-hard fans of the series I went to see it with left the theater screaming and vowing to go to L.A. and beat the crap out of the writers.

Good stunt work and well-choregraphed sword fights do NOT make up for a lousy plot and a disappointing villain. 4/10, and I'm being nice. I'm glad I used a gift certificate and didn't have to spend $6 of my own money on the movie.

**DPH shifts into WEEKEND mode, spots DC, and summons a thunderbolt attack against DC. That was for causing Netscape to crash before I posted.**

Winterwolf, I raised the sanity level and opposite way I raised the insanity level. Someone else needs to fix the insanity level by inserting insanity/illogic into the room.

Daphe - I heard a saying once. Every life is important and everyone's story is important. I am not sure I could accept a boring life.

**WORK RELATED**
I keep being visited by a co-worker at least 4-5 times per day while the guy is supposed to be busy. the other day he borrowed my scissors and did not return them to me. The scissors, luckily, were found the next day. That same day, he borrowed my scissors and left them in his pocket. He sent me on a wild goose chase to find my scissors. I got them back and told him to NEVER borrow my scissors again. I let everyone at the table I am working at borrow my scissors, but they never leave the table. Today, I asked him 4 times for a pen to complete paperwork for my job and someone had to get me another pen to do paperwork with. He was using the pen to doodle. Later, he borrowed the pad I use to keep track of what has been done to doodle with and I asked him for it back NOW and I had to grab it from him. I needed it right then to write down what we were about it while I was waiting for a few moments. I tell you if there was a camera watching what he does, he would have been fired for leaving his job too often. Personally, I think the guy is bored at his job and needs to do something different.
**END WORK RELATED**

I have more work related, but I am saving it for another day.

**BFTS RP continues**
Jennifer and Greg work out several alternative ways to store the weapons and ammo in multiple tractor trailers. They go home separately and sleep the night. The next morning, they share their concerns with Fred Hitman and he agrees with a plan to split ammo and weapons among 4 tractor trailers evenly.
**END BFTS RP for now**

<Fire Storm enters the CR with a police escort>
Hey all! Guess what! Ya remember that jerk I told ya all about?

The one that just kept calling?

The one that threatened to sue me?

GUESS WHAT!

Today, on my voice mail, he threatened to KILL ME.
Yes. Not hurt but KILL.
No, I won't put it on the net because 50% of it is swearing,
and HELL YES I went to the police ASAP!
This sucks.

Warpmind: < don't bother with POP mail, actually - I prefer just reading my e-mail straight off the web>
It's not too bad, but I am an archiver.

Robby: <I think Gunjack meant Ash from the Evil Dead movies...>
Oh, I know. But can't you just see Ash Ketchum with a chainsaw arm and a double barreled shotgun, but STILL wearing his regular clothes and hat?
<Ash to Team Rocket> Come get some!

NOTE: That Princess Mononoke available now is in Japanese with Chinese subtitles.

Greg "Xanatos" Bishansky: <Since a few staff members are assuring people that Brianna and Jane will not become like Demona and Andrea>
Heck, I am glad that Jane and that other art chic wasn't like that!
Remember, many people see Madame Destine's work as the real thing, so you are fighting that.

Niamhgold: <Banana thermite>
Ah ha.... <FS jots down a few notes>

Winterwolf: <It is great, but I wouldn't try it with a really high end chip. Too pricey if I destroy it>
Gotta love Celeron's! 550MHZ for under $100!
<I'm not sure if a second fan would be able to cool it enough.>
If you get a very nice dual fan heat sink with a inch of cooling blades and have sufficent air circulation in your case, then yes.
<Do you change your multiplier at all or is it locked on your computer?>
Fixed multiplier, BIOS modifable bus speed (up to 113mhz)
<Next time you see them ask them why they stopped visiting me. ;)>
They lost your address :)
<You made the room have a horizontal scroll bar! How could you do that to the rest of us?>
I am mean
I am evil
I am cruel
I am the Demon!

Gside: <Where would you come up with that amount of raw text that at first glance might appear almost studius? Other than the original source, that is.>
Oh, I know. But it's the mean thought that counts!
<Yeah, I just haven't gotten out to get them yet. And, I need to organize what I want to burn.>
Sharpee. Office Depot. 12 for $6
<Nah, it's currently good enough>
Yes, but my 450mhz P3 WAS good for me. WAS. :)
733mhz is CURRENTLY good for me. BUT I hope to get a 667mhz soon and make my computer a nice little 1100mhz box.

Kit: <I need to watch the movie again, find out what the heck she was doing with Tom when she belongs with Trent IMO.>
Ya must have missed alot of the last season. They both realized that they wern't made for each other.
A very moving episode.

Mrs. Patrick Toman: <Heh... do I sense that the works of a certain fanfic author have been unduly influencing the way people are seeing those two characters' interactions? >:)>
DEFINATELY! It will be hard to top Mrs. Destine's portrayal of the characters!
(Or is it Ms?)

Aaron: <Oh, and guess who got to meet Marina Sirtis this week?>
Todd Jensen? :)
Did you get her to sign a Demona pic?

Gyre: <Just got back from a little two weeks in the woods at government expense.>
Qua?

Todd Jensen: <Actually, I recall that there were certain speculations floating around about Demona and Andrea having a "Willow-and-Tara" kind of thing going on before you and Kathy set up your "Madame Destine" pseudonym.>
Absolutely! BUT Madame Destine DID make the idea mainstream.

And I'm finally caught up enough with work and school to post.

Am I the only one amused that the Station 8 room had a bit of a flame war over the weekend, and we didn't?

Like Katara said, Comedy Central's Battlebots is worth checking out. I'd almost say it was pro wrestling for engineers. The only way they could improve the show would be to replace the MCs with Tom Servo and Crow. (C'mon, it's a fighting robots show on Comedy Central. Joel Hodgeson's got to be involved somehow)

Kit> Actually, I loved Terrible Thunder Lizards, especially the hard rock opening, which they didn't show anymore after it merged with Eek.

Doug> If you feel you need a break, then it's time for a break. Step away, recharge your creative batteries, and come back fresh.

GB> A cat army? Somehow I'm reminded of those cat-herding commercials. Or that Sandman story. "Little one, I would like to see anyone, be he prophet, king, or god, get a thousand cats to do the same thing at the same time."

SOROW> We do too notice.

Kryrn> Happy, if rather belated, birthday.

Spacebabie> Escaflowne><<sounds like a kid/woman when he isn't.>> Not having watched what Fox has done to Escaflowne, I can only assume you're talking about Pyro-boy, I mean, Dilandu. And thus all I can say is... Sore wa himetsu desu.

Christine><<It's in you, and you'll never get rid of it.>> Unless it comes bursting out your chest one day, in a huge spray of... What? Why is everybody looking at me like that?

Mara> <<Count the times I say man in this post>> 3. Is it a contest?

Spike> Congrats.

Coyote> Alternative to Gunjack's suggestion, you could always smuggle an octopus in under maternity clothing.

Gunjack> You don't have Modern Manners? Too bad, it's a riot. Chapters include how to have a real party, the Horrible Wedding, and How to have a hip funeral.

Winterwolf> The diabolical duo, eh? I like that.

Shadowrider><<You got the point, I think. If there is cold, I can wear a jacket...but if there's hot, there's a limit to the things I can take off...>> LOL. I can't count how many times I've said something similar. "When it's cold, there are trenchcoats. But when it's hot... I can't exactly walk around nekkid. (I'm more of a Pinto then a Ferrari, so people object)

Robby> Thanks for the catgirls link.

Later.

Oh, and guess who got to meet Marina Sirtis this week? :)

Three day weekend! Woo Hoo! It looks like a bunch of people started without me with the last post being 7AM this morning. ;) I'm making this post short.

Mecord> Adding to what I've said before I eagerly await the next story! I wonder what happens next? :)

Fire Storm> You made the room have a horizontal scroll bar! How could you do that to the rest of us? ;)

Gside> <gargoyles> After I wrote that I remembered the Griff and Brianna tickling incident. So is this an exception or the norm? <what are you on and where can I get some?> I store up silliness if I don't use it regularly! **Pulls out a barrel of the secret formula and puts it in a corner of the room** Careful it is super concentrated! One tablespoon lasts 42 hours! ^_^

Warpmind> <caffeine> Let's make it more potent by combining them! It's alive! ALIVE! ;D

Janine> I'll be looking for you later. I'm going to have to find a way to visit you soon! ;)

*Warpmind enters, nursing a cup of coffee.*
Sweet caffeine... only thing I'm missing is a *wee* drop of Bell's... but that's just me, dig? ;)

Christine/Gside: Do you guys by any chance remember the Magelore Solar Flare debate we had running here some time ago? Honestly, I reckon Arien's slightly-not-as-planned fireball by the construct might qualify, eh? :)

Spacebabie: You gave the gift of life? Last I checked, that was the description of organ donation, which would either mean that a) you're quite dead, or b) you've signed some agreement arranging for any functional organs you have eafter death be transferred to terminally ill patients in need of those exact organs... which is more accurate? ;) Proud o'ya.

Robby: Okay, that's quite... descriptive... thanks. I keep my hopes up for the movie to reach Norway, and I pray that we get the US dub, and not only the Norwegian one. (You have something we sorely lack on this side of the Atlantic: Real Painful Puns! Dubs over here lose invariably 75% of the verbal jabs.)

Ana: *Hirr* If you think "Bimbos" is an embarassing book to *buy*, think about how it must be to poor Sharyn McCrumb. She WROTE it. :) Anyway, it IS a good book, much of an observation of fandom, and over the dreadful commercialization of sci-fi literature... (Originally, the title was used on a practical joke - you'll probably get to read that in the foreword, though.)

Winterwolf: Ginseng is the best of the best? Well, I'm afraid I must challenge your opinion... "Ever feel like a two-years-old corpse in the morning?" *Zooms in to a cadaver.* "Want to do something about it? Fear not; here's the cure." *Pours coffee over the corpse, then revives it.* "Instant coffee. Strong enough to wake the dead. You may not look like much yet, but at least you'll function."

Gside: I am *perfectly* aware of that international shipping rates being rather steep. And honestly, I wouldn't *dream* of trying to talk you out of a fully functional computer. (Threats to your physical existence, now there's another matter entirely...) ;)

Ah, well, that's the end of the CR, and the snailmail is here... gotta scoot. Bye.

Well, I'm at Rutgers enjoying my ethernet right now (and transferring a bunch of files), but there was a scare earlier when someone did something wrong with a router and we had nothing for the first few hours.

Warpmind> <<I wasn't referring to data transfer possibilities, but a cheap, easy way for me to advance from a 33MHz>>: Sorry about that, wasn't thinking in the right way. But is transatlantic shipping really that expensive. And I would prefer to hold on to it for less intensive purposes.

Shadowrider> <<Jell-0 (I don't know exactly what it is, but sounds good...)>>: It's a brand name for flovored gellatin. If that isn't easier to translate, it is a powder mixed in water that solidifies to a very elastic substance known for its jiggling. It is also a standard joke that Jello wrestling only involves well endowed women, in the same nature as mud wrestling.

Fire Storm> <<I would be cruel and give him the wrong info>>: Where would you come up with that amount of raw text that at first glance might appear almost studius? Other than the original source, that is.
<<Blanks are cheap. Without the case, a 50 pack is about $35>>: Yeah, I just haven't gotten out to get them yet. And, I need to organize what I want to burn.
<<Have you discovered the joys of overclocking yet?>>: Nah, it's currently good enough.

Niamhgold> <<Banana thermite is inaptly named; there's no explosion>>: Nor is there really one in true thermite, but yours still souns like fun. But I wouldn't think potassium and aluminum would react very well (both metals).

Winterwolf> <<Gargoyles are thick skinned and resistant to temperature extremes. Do you think a gargoyle can be ticklish?>>: Since the nerves would seem to be more insulated than other animals, I would say the chances are low (though they do have to have some feeling). Either that, or only their heat sensing nerves are insulated, and pressure nerves are more prominent, so who knows?
By the way, what are you on and where can I get some?

That's about it for me. I should sleep soon so I can get up in time to help movein, and Steve Weiss won't deregister me from all my classes (actual threat from organization higher ups).

**Winterwolf romps into the CR** ROMP ROMP ROMP ROMP ROMP HEY! :)

It is really fun being silly! I have to remember to try this when I'm not in such a good mood! ^_^

I'm curious, silly and I want some opinions. Gargoyles are thick skinned and resistant to temperature extremes. Do you think a gargoyle can be ticklish?

Warpmind> <jokes> Of course I have to add the best of the best! REVIVE with Ginseng. All creatures guaranteed to last up to three minutes! **Winterwolf hits himself with a banana creme pie** Wow that was bad! :)

Shadowrider> <exam next Tuesday> Ah! Another exam for you to ace! Don't despair! Your social life will boom once that exam is behind you! :) <great tolerance to cold and heat> It is an interesting thought. I can't think of any animal that has both. It would be necessary to find out what the limitations are on that tolerance. I think it is related to how sensitive gargoyles are to different types of stimuli. This brings up my silly question above. ;) <Italian wolves> I'm pleased to hear that the wolves are fairing well. It is great when we can strike a balance with nature. ^_^

Caliope> <Late late late> LOL I guess you didn't finish on time. :P <Florida> Oh, the search for $$$ with the summer job. Do you have any idea where you'll be working? I can send my horde of cousins to visit you! :D <Witchblade> Thanks! I've got it on tape now! <pics> I'll definitely let you know when they are ready. I'm planning on finishing the lot of them early this weekend. This includes putting up my G2K journal as well! :)

Fire Storm> <overclocking> It is great, but I wouldn't try it with a really high end chip. Too pricey if I destroy it. I'm not sure if a second fan would be able to cool it enough. Do you change your multiplier at all or is it locked on your computer? <I spend alot of waking days thinking about monsters ripping people apart> I remember those guys! They haven't visited me in a long time. Next time you see them ask them why they stopped visiting me. ;)

Robby> Disney does that annoying rental only thing quite a bit. Normally they release a limited number of copies then you can only rent it for a long time. Well there are a few that are like that anyway.

Stephen R. Sobotka> Good Luck!!

DPH> No! The sanity hurts my eyes! How did you get that sanity in here? ;)

Greg "Xanatos" Bishansky> Now I can't wait to see what happens with both pairs and Gargoyles isn't ready to go at present! That was a huge tease Greg!

Niamhgold> <trade> Sounds like another rough day! :( Let me help you out! I have so much silliness I can just give some away! :) **Winterwolf takes half of his silliness and bottles it for Niamhgold** There you go! Just for you! ;) **HUGGLES** <email> Awesome! Now I don't have to banana creme pie the entire hotmail staff to get them to fix your email! ^_^ As for how it makes you feel, well I just want to make you beam with pride cause you really deserve every word of praise! :)

Ana> <Jell-O> **Winterwolf drops many bowls of Jell-O in the room** Enjoy! <college> You're working full time! Oh! Okay. :) <costume> WOW that must be some costume! ;)

******WARNING - BFTS RP******

Frost feeling badly, takes a room and doesn't speak to anyone for the rest of the day. The next morning he wakes up and decides that today he will become Plastique Saber's boyfriend!

DPH, Jason and Plastique work to improve their skills. Plastique announces that she is going to eat breakfast and asks if anyone wants anything. Both Jason and DPH decline having had something earlier. She leaves the training room and goes to the kitchen.

Winterwolf begins his rigorous daily workout. This includes the practice of drawing perfect rune symbols to activate various spells. That was part of the magic, the only part he knew.

Frost walks into the kitchen to find Plastique preparing some food. He speaks softly to her. "Hi. I'm new around here! My name is Frost."

Plastique turns to the voice remembering DPH and Jason talking about someone new that was going to be with them for the time being. DPH was going to introduce him to her earlier but Frost was asleep earlier and then later it was forgotten. When she turned and looked at Frost she let out a little yelp then managed to compose herself. She smiled slightly to cover her initial shock. "Hi Frost. I'm Plastique. I was going to have some breakfast. Can I make you something to eat?"

Frost beamed with joy showing his razor sharp fangs startling Plastique again. "Thanks! I'd like that." He inhaled deeply savoring her scent. After she begins working on the meal he decides to do more than just stand there. "Let me help you."

They eat breakfast together with Frost completely oblivious to Plastique's discomfort. Afterwards Plastique says, "I'm late! I need to go train with DHP right away! Would you please clean up Frost?"

"Sure, I'll take care of it!" Frost starts cleaning up immediately. He daydreams how Plastique likes him already and how they will be perfect together.

DANG! I missed the entire Jell-O thing didn't I! I hate when that happens. Seriously sounds like fun though...might actually try it!

Winterwolf>No I didn't add classes...*ducks head in shame*. I will be in college forever! No, seriously though, I work full time right now so part time is my best bet. Like I said, next semester, I promise!!!

To whoever suggested that I read "Bimbos from the death sun"> Do you have any idea what kind of look I got when I asked for it at the bookstore?!? I may have to hold off buying books until they stop staring at me. Amazon may have been a better choice after all. ...this better be worth it.

Bravo Pendragon Writers! that's all I have to say about that.

It's going to end up costing me more to make my costume for G01 then it will to go! Any ideas to knock prices and still look awsome? I heard some of y'all looked amazing this year! Can't wait to see who come next summer!

Bye all

** Niamhgold enters for a quickie **

Hi! I'm pretty maxed out today...

Winterwolf: Whoa, you're on some serious silly pills! Care to trade for my lethargy? :) Your email was delivered and received! Will respond in due time, although I am _so_ psyched to be mentioned in your piece! (And now I feel bad knowing how long you looked for my stuff!)

Shadowrider: ** Hugs ** Hope things get better!

Gside: Banana thermite is inaptly named; there's no explosion, but it deals with the reaction between aluminum and banana. Wrap an unpeeled banana in Al, stick a birthday-cake sparkler halfway through the banana, and light. Just watch out, since the ensuing goo eats through many objects! >:) Always had fun with banana reactivity in chemistry!

Adios, compadres!

Since a few staff members are assuring people that Brianna and Jane will not become like Demona and Andrea, I feel the need to tell all you readers that you don't know what direction Demona and/or Andrea are going to go. I'm not at liberty to divulge spoilers, but I will say that I am writing a story that deals with at least one of those two (or both) that I am having a lot of fun with.

**DPH notices that there is a forcefield surrounding the CR room preventing DPH and only DPH from entering. DPH gets around it by opening a portal directly into the CR room. I told the temping agency about my problem and was told that the temping agency would tell someone at work about my 'problem'.

**DPH successfully reverses the sanity/insanity mix in the room, which causes the forcefield blocking DPH from entering the room to cease to exist. Someone else needs to return the room back to its normal insanity level because the room is leaning toward sanity now.**

Paula listens to Greg and Jennifer explain their problem.

Then, Paula says, "Hmm. Mobile inventory but risky. Fred Hitman once again gives us a slight problem. Here's my suggestion: ask how much risk he is willing to take with our inventory being 'confiscated'. If he is willing, then split the ammo among four tractor trailers with each one carrying the same thing."

Greg and Jennifer heard the advice and prepared to follow it.

Well, I finally got my college scedual worked out so I'm not exauhsted, I'm only visiting Antarctic Press one day a week now instead of seven, my TGS work is going along smoothly and I've fit an hour or two of working on it into my schedual, which means, at long last, I HAVE THE TIME TO POST REGULARLY AGAIN!

I think. Scheduals *DO* change, but regardless...

DOug- I know how the writing thing goes. I'd been having that sort of trouble with my TGS work until just lately, but eventually the motivation comes back to you. Here's hoping it comes back to ya soon.

Space babie- I refuse to watch the dubbed version of Escaflowne since they cut the first episode, in much the same way I refuse to watch Cardcaptors... But regardless, judging from the commercials, I would say that Brian Drummond provides the voice of Allen. The old Vegeta/Zechs Marquise voice is difficult yo not recognize.

Daria news- The movie was used to test how well Daria was treated. If it recieved good ratings, the series would get renewed. If not, well, it was going to tie up the loose ends. And so the good news is, it did well enough to merit another season, so... YAY! The movie was NOT the end of the series, we're getting a season 5!

Spike- Coooolness. But how is the ending going to be changed to avoid the gargoyle transfusion?

Pendragon ep- I may not have been at all responsible for any of the writing or illustrating of PD season 3, but I was one of the major planners of the Jane/Brianna arc... I think you'll all be interested in how it turns out... And I promise it won't be like Demona and Andrea...

Fire Storm- I think Gunjack meant Ash from the Evil Dead movies... But judging by your grin, you already knew that...

Firestorm- Where aquiring a copy of Mononoke is concerned... WQell, if Disney is gonna shaft us, I'm gonna find a way to shaft them on it somehow...

Caliope- Not paid for the announcement, just excited. I've already rented my copy and plan to watch it again tonight!

Warpmind- No easy way to describe Mononoke. Highest grossing Japanese film of all time... Ancient animal gods and all well developed characters. A wild beast girl. Strong female leads. Cool hero. A cross between the Hobbit and Jungle Book in some ways. Awesome animation. No clear cut villains. Its a 4 star movie which Disney has been shafting us on for months, largely I suspect because its far better than anything they've done in a LONG time and they can't compete. Ah well...

**RP HERE! (AND ABOUT TIME)**

Kari had left the company of Jim and SJ to do some catch up with her sister, Kitty.
"So, are you going to stick around?"
Katherine/Kitty shrugged. "I don't know. I'm pretty busy at work..."
"You're a freakin' waitress! What kind of job is that for someone who has the powers of a god?" Kari questioned.
Kitty grinned. "I could ask you the same thing sis. Or should I say, Avatar of Athena?"
"At least I'm doing something with what I got!"
Kitty frowned and narrowed her eyes. "No you aren't. You didn't use your powers at all during the battle with 4. You're just hanging around with that SJ guy."
"Is that wrong?"
"Not really. Still.. Why DIDN'T you use the powers you had available during the fight with Four?"
"Weeeeell..."

Meanwhile, out in space...
"Yes my lord, that is correct. Four has been killed."
"This is most disconcerting. Very well. This planet Earth shall recieve our full attention then," One frowned.
"So does that mean its my turn next?" Three grinned.
"No. You know the policy. If a planet had defenses strong enough to defeat one of us, we do NOT send the next strongest. That is dangerous."
"But I'm twice as strong as Four was!" Three screamed.
"And Four was nearly 200 times stronger than the more powerful earthling we knew about. Your power will not be enough."
"But..."
"Are you arguing with me Three?"
"Yes my lord. I think I am suffiecent for the task..." Suddenly, with a great ball of energy, Three was vaporized. "Never question my orders."
Two blinked and looked at his leader. He would have pointed out that One's actions just broke evil overlord rules. Like at least consider the advice of trusted liutenants. Don't kill trusted liutenants just to show how powerful and evil you are. Stuff like that. But Two wasn't about to point that out.
"So Two, ready to go to Earth?"
"Yes."

Good news, I convinced my Mother to let me get a Cable modem soI could get us online with some speed under our belt. I'll be letting everyone know after it gets installed!

No new job yet, but I'm going to see about getting work out at the local airbase again... wish me luck!

*Warpmind enters, sniffling a bit.*
Well, seems this ailment is retreating now - I feel better than I have for days. :)

Shadowrider: Yeah... honestly, I see no point in breaking ANYbody's face, no matter how agressive he is. After all, with present day medical science, doctors can repair just about anything, as long as there's no brain damage. ;) But seriously, Martial Arts were, as you said, not created to break some jerk's face, but rather to avoid HIM breaking YOUR face, don'cha reckon? *Sigh* Hunting for revenge is a pursuit I never will take up. Far better to calm down and think "What comes around, goes around..."

Fire Storm: Oh, *those* Premium Services... I don't bother with POP mail, actually - I prefer just reading my e-mail straight off the web. (So far, I've cut off one webspace provider, namely Geocities, moved to Xoom, I've got *Calculate* 5 e-mail addies, two of which are single-purpose PBEM-addies, and I haven't had to pay a cent for it...)

Princess Mononoke Video: So, maybe it's time for me to ask: What's It About? (For that matter, does anyone have a clue when it's due to ship to Norway?) *Sigh* I guess I shouldn't be too hopeful - we just recently got the Tarzan DVD version available... that is, those who weren't gifted with enough foresight to buy it from USA up to three months or so in advance... :)

Well, later. I gotta go nurse my sore throat. (Y'know... that DOES sound kinda yucky, come to think about it...)

Brief announcement, real post after I'm done with college for the day...

PRINCESS MONONOKE IS NOW OUT ON VIDEO!

That's right, the highest grossing film of ALL TIME, (And rightfully so) that actually made more in Japan than Titanic made in America, one of the best animes I've ever seen, heck, one of the best FILMS I've ever seen, tne movie Disney is trying real hard to cover up since they don't like being beaten at their own game, the story that has no absolute black and white characters in it, the movie which has had its video release delayed for MONTHS and MONTHS, the cartoon with some of the best animation ever and some incredible music, IS FINALLY OUT ON VIDEO! YAY!

Oh wait, there's a catch.

It's only available for rent.

Dern Disney bastards...

I do believe their making it a rental only proves once and for all that they really ARE trying to make the movie fail...

But thats besides the point... MONONOKE IS FINALLY OUT ON VIDEO! WOO HOO! Go out and *RENT* your copy today!

Kit: <his name is Trent, not Tom>
Trent is Jane's brother. Tom is Jane's ex-boyfriend and Daria's current boyfriend.

Gside: <We're pretty generous>
I'd say so! Although, I would be cruel and give him the wrong info.
<That would actually probably make a good engineering final. Even more so if no outside materials were used.>
"Now, here's some marshmellos and some thread. Get to work! you have 1 hour." :)
<though I still will need a source for blanks>
Blanks are cheap. Without the case, a 50 pack is about $35.
[Your new computer]
Have you discovered the joys of overclocking yet? I frequently run my dual Celeron 433's at 733. (And I DO have a box-fan near my computer for heat.)
Wait.. arn't Athlon's un-overclockable?

Emambu: <Congrats on the DSL boost too.>
It's coming tomorrow!
(Dang, that was quick!)

Hmm... My DSL is only taking a week to get it installed, and yet the wait time to get repairs from Ameritech is 6 weeks. Go figure.

Warpmind: <But premium services? Uh, I wouldn't know about those>
The only premium service that is worth anything is POP access. (So Netscape mail can download it.)
For a buck a month, it was worth it. (And considering that I paid for 12 months and so far recieved 24, I am quite happy. This is the only thing DC ever did right!)

Gunjack: <Spent all last night dreaming of murder, gunfights, and my girlfriend... bad combo...>
Would it help to say that I spend alot of waking days thinking about monsters ripping people apart and cheering for the monster to do it again?
<There was a Daria movie!??>
Yup. And it was good! (Ok, so I am evil!)
And no, I don't think I can transfer it to CD-ROM. My vid-card is baked.
<o_O ...'kay... That's probably the wierdest thing I've ever heard...>
Welcome to the Detroit news.
<Ironically enough, a friend and I once got stuck in traffic in front of an armored car, and spent the time figuring out how to crack it open w/ a potato gun and home-madeHEAT ammo...:)>
Sick sad scary thing: I can see that happening.
<Ah, yes... Ash, the only man who can squeeze three shots out of a double-barrel shotgun...>
Hmm... Ash Ketchem? <G>

Ed: <Has the ‘Dennis the Menace’ cartoon shown over in the USA?>
Yeppers.

Niamhgold: <Daria was wacked out, but pretty good>
Yeah... thats a pretty good description of the movie!

Todd: <And actually, the "Dennis the Menace" cartoon that you mention doesn't air over here>
Nickolodean (SP, but I don't care) showed the show for a while about 9 years ago.

Hey!!! Gotta be quick about this, lets see if I can finish on time!!! :P

Jannie> Was it good?! see! I always miss the good ones! I've read a few of the comic books, not too many. If you get past the scantly clad women, its actualy kindda interesting But personaly I prefer Darkness comic books out of the two :P Thanx tho! There gonna give it again today, but I'll proabably miss it again, we'll see :)

Winterwolf> <<Florida>> Well, I have an aunt who lives there and me and my brother are planing on getting jobs and actualy making some $$$ this summer :P <<Wichblade>> Well, they're airing the movie again tonight at 8 on TNT so you still have a chance! <<romantic relationships>> lol Well, good luck to ya dearest! :)<<pics>> Well when you get more up, tell me!!! <<email>> I havent cheked it! But I will! Just not now, I'm late for class! I'll get back to ya, kay?!

Shadowrider> <<you got the point, I think. If there is cold, I can wear a jacket...but if there's hot, there's a limit to the things I can take off...>> LOL Exactly!

Rodlox> In Spanish, both Emambu and Niahmagold are right, except exiles is exiliados :)

Katara> So its one of those "eh, it was ok, but its not my new favorit move" types? :P Thanx for the info! :)

Gotta go! Gotta Go! Late late late!!! Bye guys!!! *HUGZ all and runs out*

<Shadowrider enters> Sorry if I'm not here often and for long nowadays...I got an exam next Tuesday (last one before leaving, probably) so I am a bit busy...my social life is getting low...

Warpmind:> A good attitude, I think...and I really hope you'll have no more troubles of that kind. Martial arts, after all, were created for better purposes than breaking some jerk's face...

Niamhgold:> You're welcome...and thank you for the Jell-0 (I don't know exactly what it is, but sounds good...). Unluckily, I'm not having that great time now...not a bad time, but not a good time as well. Oh, well, I'm used to it...thank you for asking, anyway! <hugs>

Winterwolf:> Gargoyles weather tolerance: I can't imagine to go out on a snowstorm with just a loincloth...as a minimum, I would sing as a soprano for the rest of my life, what is not exactly one of my priorities...for sure, they tolerate weather better than us. (But, a sudden thought: is biologically possible a species with high tolerance both to extreme cold and heat?)
About my personal preferences...I somehow agree with you: I tend to prefer cold to heat...but I mainly don't like extremes of both.
Glad to know about the red wolves. Another new that could please you: yesterday, the Italian section of WWF has published a report saying that, thanks to the severe protection laws, the population of Italian wolves has doubled in the last ten years, and that packs of wolves have been sighted in zones where they had disappeared decades ago (Mussolini had instituted a reward for killed wolves...what caused a slaughter of wolves).

Kitainia:> Congratulations about the raise! A reward is even more appreciated when, like in your case, you know you deserved it. About Buffy...I have already a deal with my little brother, he'll record the episodes so I'll be able to watch it when I'll be home. So, I'm supposed not to lose too much. Oh, and good luck for the shool restart.
<<...Except when I got shot...>> You got shot? Ouch, I didn't know it...well, I'm glad to see you are stil here. I already knew your life has not been common , but seems you really have seen and lived almost everything...

Gunjack Valentine:> Yes, revenge...and reaction...are satisfying in the immediate. But, when adrenaline stops...you realize that you simply sanked at the offender's level. I know, the impulse is to react violently, but a human being is supposed to be stronger than his instincts...
A sauna? Hmmm...I never understood what is the point in sitting in a room filled with steam...but, if so many people like it, I think there is a point, isn't it? ;)

Gotta go. See you all!

Katara: Grazie - I'm sure Gunjack and I are just as eager, though. ;)

Gside: I wasn't referring to data transfer possibilities, but a cheap, easy way for me to advance from a 33MHz... ;)

Winterwolf: And I just thought up a few more practical jokes... "You said Gollum? I thought you said GOLEM!" Not to mention good ol' "Prepare to meet your ancestors!" ];)

******WARNING - BFTS RP******

Winterwolf thought about having Frost around. He wasn't happy about it. He figured it was the worst thing anyone could have done to him. To steal his very self and sully his very existence. Part of him hoped that Frost wouldn't be accepted. That he would have to leave. A darker part of him wanted Frost to die. Then he would be the only one, the only Winterwolf. Things will have to change one way or another.

Jason Filler was startled to see a large werewolf sitting with DPH. He cleared his throat to get their attention. He wondered why he could see Winterwolf right now, maybe the ring was granting him more additional powers.

Frost and DPH stopped their conversation. DPH spoke frist. "Jason this is a new ally that will be helping us. His name is Frost. Frost this is Jason."

Frost grinned and extended his hand. "Hi Jason." When Jason made no attempt to shake his hand he sighed. "I know I look like Winterwolf but I'm Frost. I'm Winterwolf's twin."

DPH disagreed with that but Jason corrected him his eyes glazing over noticeably. "You are a magical clone of Winterwolf. Not the real one at all! I must consider the implications of this." Jason starts to walk off.

Frost sighs. "Look I just wanted to keep it simple. I'm sorry I wasn't completely accurate with my description."

DPH starts to wonder. How different are those two? They certainly aren't exactly the same. Before Jason leaves the room he replies, "You can't help yourself Frost. It's in your nature."

******END WARNING - BFTS RP******

Well, everything is packed except for my monitor, tower, laptop, and sax. I am going to wake up at an absurd time (for me) tomorrow to get to New Brunswick (more Piscataway, but there too). Soon I shall feel the power of my new toy on the Ethernet (and move all my files, so even more fun for me). And yes, I have my IP address, so I should be able to get it set up when I arrive. Here's hoping I don't lose the postit (the only other copy is electric on the eden server).

Warpmind> <<Winter issue, compadre?>>: Sounds good.
<<And if your laptop wasn't cutting it...>>: I'm on an ethernet and you expect me not to download huge messy chunks of data? Messy chunks of data just aren't meant to fit in a 2 Gig drive. Mmm, messy chunks of data, I think it would make a good stew. What do you say.
<<100MHz Athlon? Shouldn't that be 900>>: You are absolutely right. But in some areas, order of magnitude is close enough.

Gunjack> <<I got to spend all that time playing FF1 emulators and reading net comics>>: A taste for the classics, and a look at my current addiction, good job. As an aside, is it just me or is most of the fanbase for cyantian.net, aka Satin and Silk, aka Syke, garg fans? I mean 3/4 of the entries (2/3 of the entrants) were by such (and I'm hooked too).
<<have the archives been updated recently?>>: Lady Mystic and Fire Storm have been good about it lately (about twice a month, I think).
<<Homemade haggis, anyone?>>: Not unless you've got some squab.
<<I just recently discovered Napster>>: Yes, that has greatly expanded my collection.
<<What was that quote about absolute power?>>: It's kinda neat.
<<*fastballs a grape jello cube at Gside*>>: **Who then promptly adds it to another 287 carefully aranged cubes** Now to contact the aliens. Sorry about that, just saw 2001 for the first time and am verry happy that fast forward was invented.
<<wearing enough to block it all out can occasionally make you immoble>>: **remembers A Christmas Story**

Warpmind> <<Warpmind de InzanE, the part-time deceased>>: But would you use yourself to summon a skeletal mage?

Rodlox> <<wouldn't that damage the wings?....the tail?>>: Depends on how you sit.

Mrs. Morgan> <<that's too bad about the java; maybe next issue>>: Is it really something you would want? There isn't any true original content, other than reinterpreting what you said so each instance fills the same grammatical niche.

Niamhgold> <<You said you weren't an artist, so get those pictures out of your head>>: Hey it wasn't my idea, you put them there. Actually, I did have to try hard to come up with something witty to say. Jello always requires that something witty be said. Though wittyness and I tend not to mix.
<<as long as we find a foot-long diameter of ground that we won't mind being damaged>>: But we need to have an I-beam to melt through.
<<I'll set up some banana thermite>>: Sorry, what? More importantly, how and what does it do? Anything like the glowing pickle?
<<bubble night>>: Going to make a giant bubble arount someone? You only need a wading pool and a hula hoop.

Katara> <<BATTLEBOTS!!!!! God this show ROCKS! buzz-saws, hammers, flying debris!>>: And don't forget about Bill Nye. I'm sure I saw him holding the kinetic enerty equation. Mmm, scientist with equations.

Spacebabie..<Montel Williams> what happened? don't leave me hangin'!

Mary..<school>glad things are looking good for you. ROP is a wonderful program. I took a couple of courses through it a few years ago. Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT! Course it helped that I had the same wonderful woman as instructor for both my Business & Offices Occupations and my Word Processing course. She really instilled a lot od confidence in me, which really needed boosting at that point in my life. Because of her, I was named one of 12 Outstanding Students of the Year ('96). Not bad considering there were over 45,000 people taking ROP classes in San Diego County alone that year. Thanks bazillions Mrs. Ramirez!

Well, I guess that's it for now. *starts to leave the CR, and pauses* Hey, anyone want to help me make a batch of chicken soup for the sickos? I know where we can find a chicken to feed about 20! haa haa haaa *a loud growl is heard from outside the door.*

Hi! Jell-0 night was a great success :) First, all of the Resident Assistants showed up to make sure that there was no *special* Jell-0 in the mix (it was funny watching them slosh the stuff around in their mouth, though, trying to taste _anything_ at all). It's funny how many people _won't_ take you up on an offer for Jell-0, simply because we were handing it out for free ;). Still, we handed out over 300 shots of Jell-0...not counting my commission. Jell-0 Tuesday again in two weeks!

Right now, I'm working on "conceptual mapping." What a fluff name for a personal manifesto :P

Gside: ** Appropriately bops him with a pillow ** You said you weren't an artist, so get those pictures out of your head! ;) But you _can_ wait til I finish a piccy of the Sisters, though it won't be anything like you're thinking! <Sparklers and thermite> Well, as long as we find a foot-long diameter of ground that we won't mind being damaged (I suggest a golf range, since I detest the sport ;) ) And, for those who want to play it safe and just see oozy stuff, I'll set up some banana thermite. Now _that's_ fun to play with! >:}

Winterwolf: Hmm...I checked my e-mail and can't find a reply! Darn Hotmail! < Busy day > I'm wishing you the best with work and all, hope you're not as busy as I am! (At least I get labor day off now that the summer's over) :) Basically, I'm working on making every night a celebration...Jell-0 night, bubble night (getting five hundred residents to make bubbles all at the same time ought to be fun!), anime night, movie night, hopscotch night, ice cream night, and potluck ice hockey night! Of course, all this is before my full course load kicks in and I start taking some additional classes at the law firm and med center. :( I can't wait for those pics to be up, but there's no rush! ** Hugs **

Warpmind: You're very welcome! I have to keep you alive, since the both of us are gonna have to work out a way to get to G01 ;)

Adios, muchachos!

My co-workers could tell I was in pain when I was standing up for a brief period of time. I plan on visiting my temp agency to show them doctor's reports. I will put a reminder to myself that when/if I get over this to be thankfull for my back.

Winterwolf, that is the best AND worst thing about buying a new PC. At this rate, I might end up buying a 700 mhz or higher. Most of the costs are fixed, though.

I did two incredible things while shopping today at Walmart (which was painfull for my back). First, I spent an EVEN dollar amount for the groceries I purchased. As hard as that is, the number of items I purchased equals the amount of money I spent. Should I get something special for doing both of those?

Hey people! ^_^

*sighs happily* Had my first day of school today. :) My teachers are very interesting from what I can tell. My math teacher seems like a very modern woman (she'll actually say 'shut up' to her students! @_@). Unfortunetly, my seat in that class is next to two chatterbox girls who won't shut up even when the teacher is talking!!! >:P I have the same teacher for physics as I did for chemistry last year. But he's doing a very shocking thing! He's actually going to be nice! @_@ ;P Nah, he's a great teacher, he just likes to mess with peoples' minds. hehehehehe...>:) I think I'm going to LOVE my California Literature class. I think it'll help me understand more how people see us pesky Californians and see for ourselves how multicultural and unique we are. ^_^ It'll also help me understnad how I think as a California person. ;P Japanese 1 will be very educational for me(help me with my Ranma fanfics!) and I like my teacher (A nice woman from Japan!). Plus I'll have a good excuse to watch anime more often ("Mom! We need to rent Ranma 1/2 so I can practice my Japanese!" ;P). ^_^ I also have ROP Food Service, which means I work at our school cafe. I signed up to work there during lunch on Tuesdays and Wensdays so I can earn some money in tips. :) But those are the days I'm supposed to have Anime Club and Japanese Club meetings. *sob loudly* Ah well, it's only for a semester. I can catch up on my anime during the weekend and there's a possibility that my Japanese Club will meet on Thursdays. :)

OK, must go now. Talk to you guys later!

Gahh... Looks like the bug is making the rounds... I was down hard with something nasty the last couple days. :P
On the upside, diseased stupor gets you out of schoolwork, so I got to spend all that time playing FF1 emulators and reading net comics. :)

Warpmind><<I've got some freaky cold-virus-on-steroids. Nothing worse.>> Same here. Does yours make you feel like you haven't slept in a week all day, and then keep you up all night? <<(The annoying bit is that since it's a non-lethal virus, there's too little effort made to find a definite cure.)>> When you take over, remember to put funding into the search for Panimmunity... Medical Nanotech probably wouldn't hurt either. <<As for Army of Darkness, there's another good one...>> Ah, yes... Ash, the only man who can squeeze three shots out of a double-barrel shotgun... :) "This... is my BOOM STICK!"
<<So you think necromancy is disgusting, do you? Well, I guess it kinda is...>> Necromancy by itself has good gross-out potential, but I'm betting that practical jokes involving re-animated body parts would be VERY disgusting...

Kit><<Guess what- I got a raise.>> *Happy Dance* Congrats! And good luck on going back to school... <<You must have missed all my little stories about the experience over the years I've been in here.>> Did you mention it in the last ten months or so? 'Cause if so, I was kinda busy blasting my life apart halfway across the country... :P Earlier than that, well, I've got a memory like a steel sieve... <<Check the archives for lots of info on the experiences I had with them, they were very fun.>> As an aside, have the archives been updated recently? last time I checked, the most recent week was two years ago... <<But once I got past all the bad parts, then it was fun. Mostly thanks to the great people I rode with.>> The snake and buzzard sound fun... With friends like mine, you WILL eventually eat wierder than that. Homemade haggis, anyone? <<Except when I got shot, that wasn't.>> Ouch! I mean, OUCH! Glad to see you made it back in one piece... By the way, is it legal to carry while traveling by motorcycle?

Gside><<The new mp3 is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (LSD) by The Beatles.>> For the record, do NOT play this song directly before or after ANYTHING that gives a combat high. Drugs and weapons do not mix. *Twitch, twitch* <<By the way, how much of that is my fault?>> Maybe a quarter? I just recently discovered Napster, and that kinda brought things to a head...

Christine><<but the EIB PCs did make rather frequent and judicious use of their "memory jewels" ... ;)>> Ooo, FUN! *Flash* "You are ceaser, emporer of Rome." What was that quote about absolute power? :D

Delphi - ;P Yuck! Sounds like you're going through the wringer... Here's to hoping Life quits the dirty dealing soon...

Niahmgold><<** Tosses up any flavor you wish, including the all-famous and totally all-encompassing ~ Grape Jell-O~ **>> "Tosses up" is right! *gag* Oh well, they make good non-lethal projectiles... *fastballs a grape jello cube at Gside* JELLO FIGHT! ;D <<(My art instructors totally tore that piece apart, even though it wasn't submitted for any grade. They don't like any type of cartoons whatsoever).>> I'll bet solid money they also condemn any form of comics... Philistines... :P

Shadowrider><<So, as I started practicing, I used to think "Well, next time anyone will come harassing me, I will give him what he deserves!". But, as time passed, I stopped thinking this way...gradually, but I stopped.>> Good attitude. Not nearly as satisfying as knocking a WBH through the offending torso, but a good attitude.
What can I say? I'm a Smiter at heart... <<If there is cold, I can wear a jacket...but if there's hot, there's a limit to the things I can take off...>> True, but even extreme heat is comfortable if you handle it right... think about a sauna. Extreme cold eats at you no matter what, and wearing enough to block it all out can occasionally make you immoble...

Kryryn><<As noted above, I'm working my way through the Harry Potter books and enjoying them immensely.>> Have fun!

DPH><<**DPH creates a forcefield around the room which should block Chaos from entering.**>> Considering the fact that about a third of the world's chaos is in here already... *shrugs*

**PENDRAGON COMMENTS/SPOILERS**

WINTERWOLF - You wrote: [It sounds like you are talking about Isafet. Is this because of the bolas in the story?]

There was that. But also the fact that she was speaking with that sort of dragonspeak where all the S's were slurred - like when she says six, it was sssssixssss or something along those lines. And also the fact that she's described as Gargoyle like - that suggests to me that she has some Dinosaur/Dragonlike qualities. (In fact if it weren't for the Human characters having so much experience with Gargoyles that they would refer to such a being as Gargoylelike, I'd expect them to say Dragonlike since that's the nearest equivilent. In fact people are more used to the idea of Dragons from fiction than of Gargoyles so I'm always wondering why so few to no Humans ever refer to Gargoyles as possible Dragons, especially in other parts of the world.)

And of course at the end by connecting that being to the person that Jane is working for adds in another clue. When Jane mentioned to her employer that she was attacked for some reason, as the employer left, Jane mentions that she sees her draw blood from her right hand because she is so upset that her nails are digging into the palm of her hand. But she only mentions that as being on her right hand, not the left. And as we all know Isfet's (Thanks to everyone who refreshed my memory as to what her name is) right arm is the only one that is flesh. Her left one isn't so there wouldn't be any blood to draw from it. If both hands were bleeding then Jane would have mentioned it but she only mentions the right hand and leaves the left one out. It's a curious omission that leads me to believe for now that the new threat to the homebased PENDRAGON cast is Harthoth.

Urk, what a night... I can't have been able to sleep more that two or three hours. :( Oh, well... on the bright side, I finished Dark of the Elvenwood... all I have to do now, is to wait a whole year for the third book. :( Agh! Where did I put that Phoenix Gate... ;)

Niamhgold: Thanks... *Guzzles chicken soup.* Good to know people do care. ;)

Stephen R. Sobotka: If it is guaranteed to come with Christine's illustrations, I am 100% certain to buy "Bloody Vixen". Without the illustrations... oh, say, 80%? :)

*Warpmind looks at Delphi's problem description, and deliberately infects DC with the cold.*

Christine: You've got that nice, sadistic streak, y'know? ;) As for the Morvalan dialect... it figures. I've taken some German classes myself (compulsory, I might add - I hate the language with heart and soul), and I'm aware of the gross, rigid grammar they've got.

Winterwolf: I've got some freaky cold-virus-on-steroids. Nothing worse. (The annoying bit is that since it's a non-lethal virus, there's too little effort made to find a definite cure.) As for Army of Darkness, there's another good one... "I've got a bone to pick with you!" :)

Gside: Your Java RGG is running late, my QBASIC RGG is not yet finished... *Sigh* Winter issue, compadre? :| And if your laptop wasn't cutting it... *Shakes head* Never mind. I'll have to wait and see what comes around. As for your computer specs... 100MHz Athlon? Shouldn't that be 900? *Sigh* Oh, what do I care? Either way, it's way beyond my humble 33MHz... :(

Well, time for me to drag my disease-ridden body into the living room and pop in the fifth Gargoyles tape into the VCR... ]:) Man, buying those tapes from England (Well, the tapes, the postage, and a tiny little extra for the copying job) is without a doubt the BEST investment I've ever made. :) See ya.

**TIME FOR A LITTLE RP**

"Terrell, do you smell something burning?" Annabelle asks her mate as he slams down the phone and gives out a loud growl. Seeing her worried expression and those of Gubio, Erin, Bessus, and Mist, he sniffs the air. "Yes, I do," he frowns. "Did you leave a cake in the oven?" "No, I did not!" Annabelle snaps. Just then, the front door of the stalagmite-house flashes with heat and begins bursting into flame. "Someone's trying to burn the house down!" Erin gasps. Bessus dashes to a spyhole and looks out. "It's those guys outside!" he reports. "Two of them have flamethrowers!" Mist meows angrily and Gubio waves at her to calm down as he checks his clip. "We have to stop them!" he yells at Bessus. "Are they in range?" "They're both wearing full body armor!" Bessus shakes his head. "Nothing we got can pierce it. A headshot or a few bullets in their napalm tanks might do the job, but given their positions and our gunports, even I couldn't pull off such a precise shot…" "Never mind!" Erin cuts him off. "Terrell, do we have a back way out of here?" "The stairs to the roof," he answers, "we can jump out. There's also a tunnel in the cellar that goes to the mines. Maybe we can use it." He growls. "But I don't want to let them burn down this place!" "We may not have much of a choice, hon," Annabelle fumes, grabbing a sack and stuffing as many valuables into it as she can while the walls of the house catch fire. "We have to get out of here, now! You guys have everything?" "We do," Erin replies, Gubio and Bessus also nodding. "So is it the tunnel or the roof?" "Both," Gubio says. "One of us goes up to the roof and keeps them occupied, the rest escape through the tunnel." Terrell nods. "Good plan." "I'll hold them off," Bessus says, checking the clip in his sniper rifle. "Maybe from up there I can even get the flamers." He hands Gubio a black box. "Take the Geiger counter, if it starts beeping you may be close to the bomb." "You think it's down in the mines?" Terrell asks. Bessus nods. "The central deepest part. That's where I'd put it to cause the most damage. If Flanagan or some other expert demolitionist working for Abdullah put it down here, that's where it would be." "Then we'll look," Gubio replies. "Thank you." "No problem," Bessus shrugs. "Just hurry!" Erin nods that they will and then she and the others run towards the cellar while Bessus heads for the roof and the house continues to burn.

Meanwhile, in Ankara's British Consulate, a small nervous-looking darkhaired man in an old brown suit picks up a ringing phone. "Hello?" he asks in a deep British accent. "Oh hello Mary. Yes, things have been going fine. How are…You need my help? What's up?" He listens for several minutes, his expression darkening as he does so. "Oh, indeed. This man Abdullah must definitely be stopped. I've tried to encourage Fasil to try something like this for a while now. I wish he would have decided to do it at a better time, when the help I could bring in wasn't so disorganized. Yes, Arthur's in trouble. My cousin Colin says they think he's someone he's not. He and the clan have to lay low, I don't think I can bring them over here very easily right now. I'm sorry. James might still be available though. Or not, if that's how you want it. I, of course, am at your beck and call at any time." He chuckles lightly. "Change a couple letters in my name and you got the strength of my word. Just call and give the time and place. Alright, I'll be there. Thank you. Bye." Smiling, Michael Marter hangs up and begins writing info down on a pad, a worried expression on his face. In her family's home, Mary Bey also hangs up, nods and smiles at her husband Fasil, who's on the other line, and then picks up the phone to dial again as the screen goes dark.

**TO BE CONTINUED. END RP FIRST BIT**

<Kit enters wearing a big smile> Hi everyone. Doing alright? I am. Guess what- I got a raise. A very small one, only ten cents more, but still it's a raise. :) The manager of Tower said it was for helping out with the inept worker we had to suffer through recently and putting up with all the double shifts I had to. Felt good to get it, let me tell you. <grin> Even better to have Malcolm Morrison working the shift after mine now so I can go home at the proper time. Things are altogether looking up for me, which is a good thing since <Sally Brown voice> SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW!!! Yes, Doug's last semester of college and my last one before I get my bachelor's of psychology. Will be trying for a master's after it, so I'm staying a little while longer, but still, it's good to know I'm so close to one goal. :) Yet still I'm of course dreading the prospect of going back to school so soon. At least I can still work while going. And come in here as often as I get the chance. :) On to replies.

Christine: Thanks so much for helping out with the Stephanie situation, Doug and I really appreciate it. We found out what the problem is- it's what he thought, she's too shy to ask you directly for a book in any way. <shakes head> Strange, for Stephanie, but true. I keep telling her you don't bite, but… Oh well, you're sending the book, so there are no problems. Thanks again, please let us know as soon as it's in the mail (charge it to us anytime you like, the financial crisis is over now. :).

Gunjack: Yes, I did ride with the Hell's Angels. You must have missed all my little stories about the experience over the years I've been in here. <shrugs> It's okay if you did, just a little surprising. Check the archives for lots of info on the experiences I had with them, they were very fun. Except when I got shot, that wasn't. Neither were all the spills I took when first learning to ride a bike. And sleeping on hard ground and eating buzzard and rattlesnake took some getting used to. But once I got past all the bad parts, then it was fun. Mostly thanks to the great people I rode with. :) Glad you enjoy the Harry Potter books too.

DPH: What the police did in your accident would make me angry too. <sigh> Hope you get things straightened out soon somehow. Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Shadowrider: Not as happy as I am. <grin> Glad Buffy is continuing to be interesting for you, hope you can still watch it while you're in the military somehow.

Mecord: Love never should be taken lightly, glad you're not doing so. :) Like I said before, I wish you luck. Hope it all works out the best it can for both of you. Also hope to someday see published that cool Caregivers story idea.

Daniel Johnson: Thanks for posting all those good bits of wisdom and humor. :)

Before I forget, thanks to everyone who has encouraged Doug as far as his writing goes. Him giving it up bums me too, as much as it does any of you. But he has his reasons. <sighs> Oh well.

Kyryn: Good luck purchasing a house sometime soon, Doug and I also want to do that someday. Hope you find a nice one. Happy Belated Birthday also. :)

Firestorm: Glad you liked the Daria movie too. Gubio got it on tape, and we all sat down and watched it again last night with popcorn and soda. It was very good. The Quinn development especially (since it hit home mucho for Stephanie, Tricia, and myself :). Liked the Daria and Trent stuff too (his name is Trent, not Tom)- it fit in very well with what we did with them earlier in the RP. :) And the mentor bits were of course great too. Kevin and Brittany were also as fun as ever. L.

Emmabu: Good that you have an excellent roommate, I know I couldn't have survived long at college myself without Shauna there by randomness my first semester and by choice all the others until I moved in with Doug. :) Good luck with the years ahead and making new friends, I'm sure many are there waiting for you. It may all seem daunting now, but trust me, you will get used to it. Or, at least one can hope so. :)

**SPOILERS FOR PENDRAGON**
Nice job on Reluctant Thief, TGS people. I liked the illustrations a lot, and the writing was good too. The pace of the story did seem a little jumpy, rushed at times and too slow at others, but that wasn't really a problem. I also didn't think the four thugs sent after Jane really needed names if they were gonna die at the end, but it was okay that they got names too. <shrugs> Many high points in this story- I liked the development done on Brianna a lot, her scenes with Griff were good and so were those with Jane. I like Jane as a character, and hope she gets more development soon. Her husband needs some too. As for her friendship with Brianna, well, as long as it doesn't get too much like Demona and Andrea, I'm sure it will be a good read (though I might could enjoy a Story of B from Madame Destine :). Also enjoyed the development on Rory and Molly in this story, hope we see more of the latter this season. She's become a very interesting character. :) Leba's development I enjoyed also, though not as much. And of course I find it quite intriguing to see Isfet threatening the Londoners. Wonder what plans she has and how they'll be enacted, also if Harthoth will show up too. They can't always be working together, but he is a great character. :) One small note- did anyone else think the new antagonist the clan was up against had to be Sekhmet until Isfet's appearance proved them wrong? I did, after reading the description of the human form Isfet used from Jane. Still wondering if Sekhmet's dead or alive after the Unseelie War too. <shrugs> Maybe someday we'll find out. Really liked the dialogue too, and how no one seemed out of character once. :) All in all, pretty good story. 8/10, thumbs up.
**SPOILERS END**

Rodlox: I too was worried about you, good to see you in here again. :) Hope you can soon post once more, and also get involved again in the RP.

Delphi: Welcome back. Man, I wouldn't want to suffer the kind of troubles going on in your life right now. Hope you can get them all straightened out soon, I'll be praying. Good luck.

That's all for now, must get a little sleep before work today. Have to be on the clock by 8:30 (I help open the store at 9:00), so I better jet. Everyone have a good life and live it to the fullest! Later all!

**RESUME RP- RAVENS' SAGA**

"Somebody's bombing us!" Tricia yells into her radio as the screen comes back on. "That's what the Onslaught's instruments say! They're still pinpointing the source, but they'll get it!" "They better get it fast!" Kit replies. "These guys keep missing, but if they manage to correct their targeting before they run out of ordinance…" Her words are cut off by a large explosion that hits the road near the Road Moccasin and knocks it aside with the force of the blast. Doug and Kit are thrown off and gasp as they get to their feet. "You okay?" Kit asks him, and he nods. "You?" She nods, then looks at the bike, which has suffered several dents and a busted headlight. "They're gonna pay for this, big." "Hey guys!" Stephanie yells out her car's window as the convoy stops beside Doug and Kit. "Are you?" "We're fine!" Kit replies, Doug also nodding. "Just a little shook up," he adds with a smile. "I got their location!" Tricia shouts out the Onslaught's window. "They're in some planes above us. I can't detect the bomber, it's probably Stealth, but there are some F-18s in formation to be escorting something!" "I got them over here too!" Mansfield yells from the tank. "They're circling for another pass! Leah, get them with the main gun!" "Ten-four!" Leah shouts back, aiming the tank's large cannon. "Can you really hit them with that?" Tom asks her with a frown. She nods. "Just watch me!" "Backup plan," Elena says, stepping out of the station wagon and turning into her Liberation Angel form. She then takes off. "Be careful!" Boris shouts after her. "I'm going up there too," Kit tells the others. "Doug, get my bike into the Onslaught. We'll fix it after we're safe!" "Okay," he nods, picking the bike up as Orion and Anthony open the Onslaught's trailer ramp and doors. "Here they come!" Jammer shouts as Kit climbs the Onslaught's side and takes off in a glide. "Hurry!" Just then, the planes come screaming down out of the sky, dropping more bombs around the Ravens' vehicles. Leah fires at them, but the shot only blows up one of the F-18s whose chaingun fire is bouncing off the Ravens' vehicles while they duck down. "Damn it!" Leah curses, trying to correct her sights as the bomber and other planes circle again. Elena and Kit take off after them, weapons ready, while the other Ravens scramble to load up the bike and the two cars inside the trailer for added protection. "I thought that was perfect!" Leah growls as the doors are closed. "You'll get them next time, don't worry," Tom tells her. "Or someone else will. It'll be okay." She nods, looking doubtful. Mansfield shrugs and loads another shell.

On the B-2 Spirit, Clarence is yelling at the target spotter and bombardier. "Get it right this time!" he orders them. "We just lost one of our escorts, and we only have so much fuel!" "Roger!" the bombardier replies, saluting. "Yes?" the navigator asks, raising his eyebrows. "Nothing," the bombardier frowns. "He didn't mean you," Victor tells Roger. "He was just acknowledging Clarence's words." "Oh," the navigator grumbles. "Can't you guys think up some other way to do that, without saying my name?" "I guess," Clarence shrugs. "It does get a rise out of you, though." "An excellent reason to keep doing it," Roger fumes sarcastically. The others chuckle as they get ready to try to bomb the Ravens again.

**MAYBE THEY'LL SUCCEED THIS TIME. _MAYBE_ . FOR NOW END RP**

I thought I might as well add a couple more tidbits about the mp3. It was supposedly inspired by a drawing by Paul's (?) child, which all members have claimed to have seen, but now has disapearded. Also, the oldest austriopitacus skeleton was named after this Lucy becase they had only one tape of music and were saving it for a special occasion. And, this appears to be the first Beatles mp3 I have posted. Amazing because I quite like much of their repertoire.

Caliope..<WitchBlade> I caught it. Don't worry. I don't think you missed all that much. It's a good thing I got a copy of the movie edition comic book from the ComicCon, otherwise I'd have been even more clueless that I already was. I'm sure that you will get to see it again soon enough. TNT played it back-to-back. It was supposed to be a series, but that plan has already been scrapped. Did anyone else that saw it start to think that maybe Yancy Butler _might_ be able to play Elisa?

Stephen...sorry to hear about the interview not working out. Good luck on getting something else real soon. Just out of curiousity, where in FL are you? I forgot.

Well, guess that's it for now. At least it's enough to at least mark my place for future reference. :-)

Rodlox> quotes: For French, try:
Quel sujet noble. Seul, si nous avait un roi noble.
Si tous savait le bannissement peut être comme ci, nous aurons une monde des exilés.
Or maybe that last bit could be "une monde plein des exilés," meaning "a world full of exiles." And the second sentence of the first quote is (here) "Only, if we had..." Andyone is free to contradict me.

Warpmind> nose: May you have the best of health (but I wish everyone that daily, anyway).
<<Oh, and as for your new toy... *SHAMELESS ENVY*>>: If you really want to envy, I got it because my 233 laptop wasn't cutting it, and you can't upgrade a laptop. But don't worry, eventually you will upgrade. Maybe after you get over here, but eventually.

Winterwolf> <<What no additional specs?>>: Well, I didn't want to bore anyone or sound like I was bragging, but since you asked: 100Mhz Athlon, ASUS K7V motherboard, 256MB PC133 RAM, ATX case, 300W power, 30GB HD @ 7200 RPM, floppy, Nvidia GeForce2 AGP w/ 32MB RAM, 17" Impression monitor .25dp, keyboard, Win '98, 10x DVD, Creative Labs Value sound card, Eastern AX-4106 speakers w/ subwoofer, 3Com network card, and a 8x4x32x CD-RW. And I had to bug them today for another cable to hook up the CDRW to the sound card (if I can have a choice of drives with wich to play CDs, why not go for it?).

Shadowrider> <<congts about the new toy!>>: Thank you. I hop to enjoy it, and pass the enjoyment on to you in the form of mp3 goodness.

Niamhgold> <<My friends and I are throwing Jell-O^TM Night>>: So many images are brought to mind, especially right next to that Weird Sisters picture. Yes, I know I need professional help.
<<some sparklers>>: There going to be any rusty pipes and aluminum foil in the area? If so, I can make thermite.

SRS JR> Good luck with the job hunt.

Delphi> May your problems be quickly solved.

Mrs. Morgan> <<Avalon Mists > last call for submissions! Wednesday for written stuff>>: Sorry, I don't think the Java will make it, even if you did want it. And I'm still not sure how to make an exe (always had to run java in Unix with the class name as an argument (eg: the command would be "java rgg" (after compiling with "javac -g rgg.java" (that was more than anyone here wanted to know about java on Unix systems)))).

If separated far enough apart, time signature changes can be quite fun. I give as an example a song that goes from 3/4 (waltz time) in the verses to 4/4 in the chorus. An you can really feel it. The new mp3 is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (LSD) by The Beatles.

**Winterwolf wanders in**

Hi. Tomorrow is probably going to be another long day for me. Good thing Labor Day is on the way! :)

Shadowrider> <hot and cold> I wonder what the extremes for a Gargoyle are to feel uncomfortably hot or cold? They are supposed to be very resilient to heat and cold. You have to be though if only wore a loincloth all year round. Personally I like the cold weather but it probably foes without saying being a Winterwolf. I am easy to please though because unless it is extremely hot or cold I don't mind much. ^_^

Warpmind> <green around the gills> You aren't coming down with something are you? **gives you a box of soft tissues and some cold medicine** <Army of Darkness> Good one! :)

Niamhgold> <pictures> Thanks! I have several more pictures to put up and I plan to do it as soon as I can. <email> The last email I got from you was Monday morning and I sent you a reply late Monday night! Did you get my reply or should I resend it? <pics and webpage> I told you they are totally awesome! Please consider my request. It would be a wonderful favor that you'd be doing for me! <Jell-O> Thanks! I bet you're having a good time with all the wobbly Jell-O! Enjoy the simple pleasures when they make themselves available! ^_^

DPH> <legal> That sounds bad. **paws crossed that it just sounds worse that it is** <medical> This sounds like fairly good news. Just get some more rest. :) <computer> The good thing with computer purchases is that better stuff keeps coming out so if you need to wait a while the computer you can get will be a little more powerful or if you go for the same one you would have gone for a little cheaper. <RP> I guess I'll take one more night off too so everything can move forward tomorrow.

Delphi> Great to see you! I've missed the humor posts. Sounds like you are having your own battle with technology. I hope it all gets sorted out and everything works again soon. :)

Daphne> Hi Daphne! Been busy?

Airwalker> It sounds like you are talking about Isafet. Is this because of the bolas in the story?

I enjoyed "The Reluctant Thief". It really sets the stage for the upcoming stories. Bravo! It is very well written and beautifully illustrated IMO.

Good night!

Gunjack > well, given that necromancy's not known among the elves, that wasn't an option ... but the EIB PCs did make rather frequent and judicious use of their "memory jewels" ... ; )

Warpmind > hey, I live for reactions like that! ; ) As for the Morvalan, I think what happened to them wasn't a Yoda complex but was that at the time of their character conception, I was taking a lot of German in school. Often, in German, the more complicated the sentence gets, the more the verb gets shoved to the end ... and it sort of got out of hand from there ; )

Witchblade: **CONTAINS SPOILERS!!**

Okay.

I liked the movie. Found it to be quite interesting how they were able to translate the comic's first four or so issues into a television movie, though Kenneth Irons was too unintimidating. Yancey Butler does a good job as Sara Pezzini, even though the costume doesn't match. But why would it match, if it did you'd have to consider the movie nearly soft porn considering what she uses for a costume (nearly nothing but what the Witchblade composes for her as armor).

Of course there's going to be little nits that the fans will have (i.e. Captain Siry's name was spelled wrong on the note to Sara), but as an overall product, much like X-Men, it's very enjoyable.

Best moment for me: the very ending, the final pull through Kenneth Irons' gallery of past Witchblades (after all the paintings' faces have been changed to Sara's), the camera pulls in closely on the new work in Irons' gallery, a piece of promotional artwork that Michael Turner did for the comic. I thought it was a very nice way to tie together the film and the comic.

Overall, I really liked it, and I hope the ratings for it are good enough to get a full series.

ED - Thanks for the explanation. And actually, the "Dennis the Menace" cartoon that you mention doesn't air over here - maybe because the US has a comic strip entitled "Dennis the Menace" of its own, which bears almost no resemblance to the British strip in "The Beano" except for having the same name, and things could have gotten confusing as a result....

Heya! Nice new Pendragon ep, I have to say :) How have you all been? Looks like G01 is gonna be a doozy, and I can't wait! :P

Oh, BTW...My friends and I are throwing Jell-O^TM Night tonight in the apartment area :) Even though you aren't here, I bring Jell-O for you all! ** Tosses up any flavor you wish, including the all-famous and totally all-encompassing ~ Grape Jell-O~ ** There will be Jell-O jigglers only by special request ;}

Winterwolf: Wow, thanks for all the pictures! Yours are very well taken. Now I get a good idea of what went on there. Did you catch the e-mail I sent you? And, yes, we are *definitely* going to have to arrange a huge send-off for Shadowrider! I'll bring multi-execution cake, some sparklers, and sparkling cider (for everyone's tastes). And Jell-O! <caricature> I might join her this upcoming summer, or even start my own up in a local theme park... Oooh!

Firestorm: Daria was wacked out, but pretty good. A lot of threads were tied up and started...I especially liked how Daria became a mentor to a kid who was a lot like her. It's kind of interesting to see how she was as a tyke ;)

Shadowrider: If you want it to be a surprise...don't read the above statement to Winterwolf :) Just kidding! Hope you're having a great time, and thank you for the comments about my painting! Man, you get some *sparkling* Jell-O!

Rodlox: Hey, buddy! Long time no see! Missed ya :)

Emambu: I believe that the "ser" does belong there...it's also been a while since I've taken espanol, but I'm pretty sure that the unconjugated verb form should be there...
You would actually want to see more of my work? Wow, this whole CR is so supportive! (My art instructors totally tore that piece apart, even though it wasn't submitted for any grade. They don't like any type of cartoons whatsoever). I'll have to get some more digital pics before I can show more, which might take a while, however...but thank you so much!

Kyryn: Crud! I _never_ forget a birthday, and yet here I am, missing yours! Happy Belated Birthday, compadre! <|:D

**PENDRAGON COMMENTS/SPOILERS**

Interesting episode with a focus off Arthur and Merlin and onto the rest of the cast which only increases my pleasure towards this episode as I enjoy reading about the London Clan and Human Cast much more than I do reading about Arthur and Merlin.

I like the movement onto the development of Brianna's attitude towards Humans. We've heard some of her acceptance of city life in the last season but there wasn't that much concentration on how her attitudes towards Humanity were developing aside from just a general discomfort. Here it seems that the discomfort is more on the level of general distrust and wariness, kind of like Goliath through THRILL OF THE HUNT.

I enjoy this angle and I'm sort of sorry that she's the only Gargoyle in the cast with this sort of attitude. It helps to personify and focus on it but at the same time it makes it feel that she's completely in the wrong when there are some very strong reasons to justify such feelings she might have. The London Clan is being played as very unisolationist which seems to be bringing it more in line with Manhattan Clan than it should be. This is a clan that has had to hide in plain sight for close to a thousand years. They should have familiarity and ease at dealing with humans in general in certain settings but also a general wariness as a whole - after all they didn't have this much human contact until recently and they didn't even start protecting people until recently (and on that I still think there should be some opposition in the ranks of the clan to it - centuries of isolationist policy shouldn't be so easily overcome). They have a thousand year history that Goliath and his Clan doesn't and it should have some influence. There should be tradition and such that should have some influence and not just that Griff showed up one day so everything has to immediately change.

What I just hope is that the Brianna plot doesn't go down the line of "Humans bugged me but since I met you that's changed and I was so totally wrong." Just once I'd like to see someone keep their own opinion even if its in disagreement with everyone else. Everyone from Griff to Caspian keeps telling Brianna that she'll eventually grow to love Humans and I'd like to see her retain some of that alien look towards them - why does everyone have to get used to everything and fall into line with what everyone else wants? And just because she's getting a human friend now shouldn't have her go down Demona's road which is basically the situation I described above. I'm hoping that she might lighten up a bit only to be betrayed and then have her original opinion harden up a bit in response. Why should there be a happy ending to all stories? (I know we haven't seen the ending but in TGS there tends to be a run towards happy ending over everything else - I'd like to see a few more METAMORPHASIS and SANCTUARY endings.)

I do like the new threat for the Clan and Cast now that Arthur is gone that is connected to Brianna's new acquaintance. Is it my imagination or might that just be Harthoth's assistant who's name seems to have slipped my mind at the moment? I hope it is - Harthoth TIMEDANCER stories are always great and it would make sense that a character like him would have links in all the spin-off series. And even if it isn't its still a good diversion - this way Arthur and Merlin can concentrate on the problem that Morrigan has given them while Griff and the rest can work on the new problems popping up at home. I really hope to see more of this plot come up soon.

Finally the Rory/Molly/Leba plotline. Something else that really holds the attention. I like the idea that some consequence of the war on the losing side is being shown through Banshee/Molly (although really the rest of the consequenses is kind of present in the threat that has forced Arthur and Merlin to go on the run). She picked the wrong side and even though she eventually left before the real battle started, she has to pay the price. It's an interesting restraint that the staff has her put on herself in that she doesn't allow herself to transform. It keeps from having a magical solution to any problem come up although this is still Banshee and even with a little growth that might have come from her friendship with Rory and Umbriel, it still should be more of a struggle for her to restrain herself. She should be in a constant inner debate over having to use her powers or not, seeing opportunities that her powers could help her and forcing herself not to take them as a real strain rather than as just a matter of fact. Some arrogence should be around and some discomfort should be present since she doesn't have a limitation on her power anymore. Also that she is in human form should be only a short term solution to her problem since Oberon can track Fey that are in Human Form. Remember in THE GATHERING he came to a place where Owen was living in Human form and where he wasn't transforming that often. He found him pretty easily. That threat should stay open and present always - that if Oberon and the Weird Sisters wanted to they could always find her. She should be more on guard and less carefree and maybe wonder a little why they haven't come for her yet.

I did like Leba's intervention in the whole matter throwing a possible suspicion onto Molly that we know isn't true but at the same time I had mixed feelings on Rory's reaction and at how quickly he found Molly/Banshee again. It's obvious that he acted more out of emotion than logic but at the same time the search time for her should have been longer to give him some time to think and sort things out. Jerking around with his trust every five minutes isn't going to leave him with a stable friendship/relationship/whatever. This revelation probably should have come a few episodes down the line so that the impact could be greater, so that some trust can be built up and then shown how fragile it is with one imagined betrayal. Like this it felt like a rush to get it out of the way so that Molly/Banshee could join the cast partially. (But now that she's in I am looking forward to seeing her interaction with Leba. Is it possible we are looking at a love triangle developing?)

All in all a great episode that is building up more situations for the rest of the season to develop on.

TODD - You wrote: [The multi-ethnic population of London - the bulk of the staff being non-Brits, I don't think that we've quite realized that.]

It is a point in MIA. I don't think that the man those thugs were running after that first Goliath and Elisa beat up and then that Griff and company scared away were attacking him because he might have been Irish or Scottish but because he was from some other part of the world. I wonder if even being Scottish or Welsh would make that much of a difference in England nowadays.

1) Qué tema noble. Si solamente él tenía un rey noble

2) Si todos los hombres supieran que el destierro podría ser como esto, tendríamos un mundo de exiles.

Hope that helps. I'm not sure if the "ser" belongs there or not. It may just be "... el destierro podria como esto..." I haven't taken spanish in a few months so I'm a little rusty, but I'm pretty confident about the first one.

(real post tonight hopefully). Take care,

Hi guys and gals! Just to change a bit from usual, I have little time, so replies!

Gside:> Oobleck: how could I forget it? I actually saw it only once, but it is quite funny...
Oh, and congts about the new toy! ;)

Gside and Winterwolf:> About Blizzard cinematics, I didn't know the prize thing...but I'm not surprised, many of their cinematics can rivalize for pathos and suspence to a lot of movie scenes made by the best directors.

Emambu:> Oh, well, glad to know your college experience is going well. The institution of the college is one thing I envy of you Americans...it is the opportunity to live away from home, with a lot of people of your age, and acquiring the necessary self-confidence. Keep us informed about your studies!
You biased about Italy? Naaahhhh...;).

Warpmind:> Your example of water is very appropriate, indeed. About the revenge thing...I don't know. It used to work the same way for me as I began with Taekwon-do. Although I was not exactly the scapegoat of the town, I was not "Joe Cool" for sure...I was indeed considered "different" by the other children, because of I was very shy (what I am still...) and because I liked a lot reading and studying. And, as you surely know, who is anyhow "different" becomes automatically a target for every kind of cruel jokes. So, as I started practicing, I used to think "Well, next time anyone will come harassing me, I will give him what he deserves!". But, as time passed, I stopped thinking this way...gradually, but I stopped. Probably will be the same for you, I think.

Rodlox:> You want those lines translated? In any language? Oh, well...
Italian:
1) "Che nobil uomo! Se solo avesse un Re altrettanto nobile!"
2) "Se tutti sapessero che l'esilio può essere così, il mondo sarebbe pieno di esiliati!"
[NOTE: I gave priority to the meaning, so the translation is not litterally precise]
I'll try to translate them in Latin, if you want. Not now though, I can't in this moment.

Caliope:> You got the point, I think. If there is cold, I can wear a jacket...but if there's hot, there's a limit to the things I can take off...
Anyway, someone listened you...yesterday finally rained. Not too much, but it gave us a bit relief.

Goodbye, everyone!

**Winterwolf returns**

I'm back! I was sidetracked for a bit and I pressed for time so right to the replies.

Kyryn> Time to read some Pendragon! :)

Patrick Toman> You aren't going to count down every day until Gathering 2001 are you? ;D

David G> That good news about the car! So are you driving around more than before now?

Warpmind> <practical joke> The big one being the three stooges complex in tight spaces or doorways with a large number of followers. "Out of the way chowder head!" ;)

Rodlox> <Brianna> Um, do you mean Cassandra? I remember she usually used Brianna's picture. I haven't seen her in the longest time. :(

Caliope> <closest> **HUGZ** Well I'm sure you'll have a good time in Florida anyway! What part of Florida are you going to? <Witchblade movie> Doh! I had no idea there was one on! I'll have to see if I can find a friend that tapped it. <romantic relationships> Thanks! That means a lot to me! I think I'm just a little scared and I'm not forward enough in my approach. I'm working on it. :) <pictures> I'm glad you like them! I plan on putting more pictures in tonight and hopefully this will even include some pics of me. ^_^

DPH> <back problems> Hope the pain subsides and your back is back in top form soon. <RP> I wanted to post this last night. I'll be respectfully taking a day off from RP. That was for yesterday. <father has issues> That sucks. :(

Ana> <dropped most of my semester> Ack! Did you put in any replacements? While it is better to drop than do poorly, you do need to get a certain amount of classes in so you aren't there longer than you need to be.

Janine> It's wonderful to see you have some time for a post and it's great that you have a schedule that you like! I'm happy that school is working out well so far! Of course I'll keep the email coming to ya! :)

Gside> <900MHz toy> What no additional specs? My little 333MHz is still doing nicely so I'm not ready for the joy of a new toy myself yet! :D

Anyone interested in having a big send off for Shadowrider? September is almost here!
I have to go! I'll probably be back tonight! Bye!

****Kyryn stumbles in.****

Well, the parents are off to the airport and it's back to work for me.

*grins* I had a pretty good birthday. My folks got me Harry Potter #3 and 4 and a new pair of Reebok cross-trainers. Then, we went out to dinner at the Traildust Steakhouse. Okami and four of our friends got me a beautiful print of corvids (bluejay, magpie, crow, and raven) by a lady named Sandra Santara. Click my name to see what the print looks like! Okami also got me a cake from a shop called Candy Haven. It was this huge heart-shaped spice cake with cream frosting, a layer of rasberry jelly, spires of white chocolate, and white and regular chocolate dipped strawberries. Monday we went and saw "Space Cowboys" -- fun movie.

Gunjack> As noted above, I'm working my way through the Harry Potter books and enjoying them immensely.

Ed> Thanks for noting the artist credit problem. I thought that I had gotten that done. I'll get it this evening.

Rodlox> Good to see you back!

Later All!

Jannie: > Re: Witchblade >> It *is* the pilot for the tv series; however I do not think it will be bought into that fashion since hard-core WitchBlade fans (like myself) would most likely expect more from it. I have yet to watch it in its entirely... from what I have seen the characters and the history of the "Witchblade" is pretty much the same... but every thing else especially the costume is completely different. When I first heard that they are making a Witchblade movie... I was under the assumption that it will be for the big screen purely for the fact that Sara Perez's costume is next to nothing (which I'm sure a lot of people would have thought), then when it was stated that it will be shown on cable, I figured that they will change a good chunck of it. I plan to watch the tape this weekend, and I will post my review of it on here if anyone is interested.

PENDRAGON: “THE RELUCTANT THIEF”

***More SPOILERS may follow***

James: Er, I beg your pardon? What comment are you replying to?

Todd:
(Sergeant Slipper)
Sergeant Slipper is a very thick-built northern Policeman with phrases like “eeh, what’s all this then?”; he’s occasionally featured in the comic, ‘The Beano’, and on its spin-off TV show ‘Dennis the Menace’. ‘The Beano’ and its sibling-comic the ‘The Dandy’ are 32-page weekly comics printed on newspaper-style paper and sold weekly; they’ve been around for around 55 years now. It’s just packed with 1 to 3 page comic strips on trouble-causing child characters – Minnie the Minx, the Bash Street Kids, Rodger the Dodger etc. Dennis the Menace, the star of ‘The Beano’, makes an enemy out of the Beanotown local policeman, Sergeant Slipper, who became a regular feature. Slipper’s bobby-on-the-beat-style attempts to extend ‘the long arm of the law’ usually end up in chaos of course. Has the ‘Dennis the Menace’ cartoon shown over in the USA?
(Ethnic diversity)
Well London is a major city so of course loads of different people are there: there’s less diversity in the country. Well, until recently, due to the incredible influx of refugees.

Caliope> I watched Witchblade. I was taping it for Denis and watched it too. I've never read the comics, so I had no preconceived notion of what it was *suppose* to be like. I enjoyed the movie =) I have seen the comic version of the Sara, but she certainly wasn't like that on TV - which I was glad to see. I understand this is a one time shot movie, but I am hoping for a series to be developed from it.
I don't get into all of the analysis of a movie or TV show, it's strictly entertainment for me, so I can't give you all of that or the comparisons to other movies/shows. Just that I liked it :)

*Warpmind enters, looking drowzy. He pulls up a bastard sword (quite appropriate, no?) and reduces Sli Sludge to a pile of pulp.*
Urk... I think I've caught a cold or something... my schnoz is clogged. :(

Christine: That's the sort of reaction you HOPED for? Hmmm... you sure your maiden name wasn't Sevarius? ;) But seriously, such scenes could be terminal - imagine if the poor, unsuspecting reader was drinking or eating something? Or worse, driving a car! (Okay, that last suggestion is dangerous anyway, but still...)

Gunjack Valentine: *Hir* So you think necromancy is disgusting, do you? Well, I guess it kinda is... elemental magic is, after all, far more entertaining... As for my shoe size... do note that size 43 is European sizes - probably something around size 11 or so in US terms... ;)

Gside: My friend... there's ALWAYS a graveyard somewhere. ;) Oh, and as for your new toy... *SHAMELESS ENVY* From the bottom of my heart (around the area where my feelings for my 7-years-old 486SX33MHz are stored), MAN I envy you... :)

I got a new toy today. A 900 MHz toy, that is. Therefore, I didn't program much (was installing divers, trying to get DVDs to play, and looking at the inside). Though, I do only have to code up the case for magic weapons and the control program, although the control could get complicated (nested switches a while loop).

New Pendragon: Once again, quite good. And what have we learned? Lucy plays Worms: Armageddon, and gargoyles like time signature changes as much as I do (even though Candide was written to annoy musicians).

Emambu> <<which allowed me to unpack without the hassle of having thousands of people running around like madmen>>: Which is one of the main reasons I signed up for the engineering orientation committee. We get to move in a day before the freshmen and two before everyone else.
<<strong student-teacher relationship and I really don't think I'm going to have that luxury anymore>>: Wait a while. Once you get into the higher level classes, your class sizes should drop significantly.
<<How are you planning to do the random dice throw?>>: random() in java.Math generates a (semi)random double between 0 and 1. if you multiply it by six, cast it to an in then add one, that should give you a (semi)random dice throw. I turns out to be small (three lines, probably could be done in one). The hard part is the rerolls, multiple values for one attribute, and just typing out all the switches. And since I can't draw and have no idea how to do graphics or a GUI in any language (let alone java), the result should be a text description of the character.

Warpmind> <I think I could enjoy the necromantic powers, myself. Imagine the vast number of practical jokes>: But where would you get and keep the dead bodies in preparation for said jokes?

Rodlox> You said you wanted lines translated? To which language?

Gunjack> <<Does [oobleck] sticky up everything it touches?>>: Pretty much, though you can adjust the consistency to make it more manageable. I don't think it's really sticky, more gooey.
<<I maxed out my 6.4 Gig HD yesterday... Darn mp3s>>: That is why you will make friends with the guy with the CD burner when you do get to college. (I don't have to do that anymore, though I still will need a source for blanks) By the way, how much of that is my fault?

Na zdorov'ya.

ED - Thanks for your review. Just out of curiosity, who is Sergeant Slipper?

And thanks for your comment on the multi-ethnic population of London - the bulk of the staff being non-Brits (actually, I don't think that anybody on the TGS staff actually lives in the British Isles), I don't think that we've quite realized that.

(Although it does remind me of a creativity demon that I once had where Arthur would come to the rescue of some of these Londoners being attacked by the racist thugs from "M.I.A." and after thwarting the thugs, tell them that their slogan of "Keep Britain pure" is utter nonsense, since Britain has had immigrants of various sorts all throughout history who mingled with the population - Celts, Romans, Saxons, Danes, Normans, etc. However, I then found out that recent genetic studies have shown that the modern-day British population is almost entirely descended from the "very first Britons" in prehistoric times and that it's not so "mixed" as was once believed, so I discarded the idea without even suggesting it to the rest of the TGS Breakdowns crew).

PENDRAGON: “THE RELUCTANT THIEF”

***This post will contain SPOILERS.***

You know, whilst I quite like the season 3 set-up with the episodes divided, it does seem a little cheeky to have the series called ‘Pendragon’ but featuring barely anything of the sort (unlike the episodes without Goliath in ‘Gargoyles’ since that has a generic title). I shouldn’t whinge though: interesting plot, nice character focus on Rory and Leba, the following up of the Molly plot and some new villains: what could be better? I loved it: the episode avoids the temptation to drag on with loads of little subplots, but has a good focus on its main story, blending in small asides for future episodes. Seems that Greg’s plan to use Castle Carbonek is to be picked up upon and that’s cool. We also got a hint towards some mysterious gargoyle creature. This could have been made more of really since it was an interesting addition, but at least it’s a nice plot strand for another day.

Jane’s a nice character: her turning out to be Scottish is a bit silly, mind. After all, London has Indians, Pakistanis, Irish, East Europeans and Chinese, amongst many other nationalities, in abundance – what’s so special about her being Scottish? Come to think of it, the diverse ethnic background of London doesn’t seem to be exploited to the same degree as in America… maybe this should be dealt with in decent episodes? It would be far easier to tie up interesting legends from outside West European mythology by doing this. Anyway, back to Jane, her nervous wish to make contact with the gargoyles, and her linking them to gremlins was fun.

The in-focus characters and emotion, of Rory’s thieving past, were beautifully dealt with. The relationship between Molly and Rory is perfectly balanced between tension and maligned friendship. Rory and Molly also have quite a nice contrast; him having given up stealing for the sake of it, and her still stealing for necessity. Love it.

The dialogue is lovely: the guys banter away, and the characters are fleshed out a bit. There does seem to be a bit of an inconsistency early on: (“Men are so impatient-"/"'Tis because women are slower than an afternoon soap."/ but Leba subsequently rebukes: “You sound like an old woman”). This isn’t really a problem though: it isn’t like in dialogue people are naturally consistent.

A few notes: all the policecars in Ireland have, as I recall, Gardai spelt without the ‘u’. Also, ‘bobbies’ sounds pretty dated (or at least reserved for reference to a Sergeant Slipper sort of character). ‘Cops’ would be more standard (see all you American folks, you don’t need to try so hard to emulate the English after all! ^_^).

One last note, there’s no artistic credit on the story page itself, which is a pity since the first illustration is hilarious and the third one very dramatic.

Top job Carolynn, Mandi, Nicodemus, Noel and Spike! ^_^

Gside><<Oobleck is quite fun (a favorite of engineers and scientists), and so counterintuitive.>> Does it sticky up everything it touches?

Coyote><<Case in point ... in '97 during the Wings' Cup run, IIRC, someone threw a *39-pound octopi* on the ice, complete with a bowling ball shoved in its head to make it bounce.>> o_O ...'kay... That's probably the wierdest thing I've ever heard... <<But what makes me wonder is, how'd he even get it *in* the arena?!>> Easy. He probably tied the legs around his waist, and disguised the head as a potbelly... If the gaurds tried to check him, he could get all defensive about how they were picking on fat people...

Firestorm - There was a Daria movie!?? *Begins beating his head on his desk* I *HATE* not having TV... <<"Police are now searching the local countys for a man who shot up a bank with a wepon described as "A gas-powered potato launcher on steroids..."">> Ironically enough, a friend and I once got stuck in traffic in front of an armored car, and spent the time figuring out how to crack it open w/ a potato gun and home-made HEAT ammo...:)

Christine><<we ended at 9:30. Damn I'm good! ; ) All that, they were totally into the whole EIB thing, and not a single combat. Can you imagine? A con game without combat and they _liked_ it! Woo!>> And therin are the reasons I will *NEVER* be a con GM... First, I've never come up with a good plot that took less than 50 hours to finish, and combat is usualy half the game... How do you do it? :)
<<Anyway, it went so well that I'd love to run it again at the Gathering. Though this time I'll make up some pre-gen characters beforehand to save some time ...>> Ooo, hey, I'm there! (assuming I get to the Gathering in the first place...:P) Though the "no combat" part might be a problem. I'm a "Garrote first and use Necromancy to question the corpse later" type...:) *Goes back to writing "I will not spoil the GM's record" on the blackboard*

Spike><<"No, son... as I love you, I won't throw seafood at YOUR hockey games. Forget it!!">> ROFDFL! :D Now THERE'S a fun picture... And congratulations on the CD!

Survivor - If the core of the game is politics and popularity contests, why bother holding the fragger on a deserted island? I was under the impression the the goal was to *survive*, as in remain undefeated in the face of hostile conditions... As it stands, survivor is a beauty pagent with rats... not a good combo.
Still wish I coulda seen that speech SJ was referring to, though...

Green Baron><<It seems you got shafted, too. That must be awkward when you go to College.>> I prefer the term "Involuntary Heart Donor"...;) Really, I'm not bitter, just very sad. You ever meet someone who was just a great person? Well, she was one of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. It's a pity it ended this way, though... As for college, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it, and I'll have a year to heal in the meantime...

Daniel Johnson><<quotes>> "The illegal we do immediatly. The unconstitutional takes a bit longer." Did you get those quotes off the GURPS Illuminatia cover?

Doug - Sorry to hear about the end of the 'fics, man... Here's to hoping the urge to write comes back...

Aaron><<Ah, a fellow P.J. O'Rourke fan. Do you have Modern Manners?>> Nope... BHC is the only book I own, but I've also read "Give War a Chance"... Loved the Automobiles vs Pedestrians essay! :D "Strip a pedestrian of it's clothes and an auto of it's paint. Which looks better in good light?" "Roll a pedestrian and an auto through salt slush at 70 mph. Which comes out better?"
Good stuff, that...

Oh, and I forgot to mention! I maxed out my 6.4 Gig HD yesterday... Darn mp3s...

thanks to you all!

congrats on the Books, Kids, Birthdays, and other Important Events.

here's the lines....either one is fine:

1) “What a noble subject. If only he had a noble king.”
and-or:
2) "If all men knew that banishment could be like this, we'd have a world of exiles."

Well, my latest fic is in the archive. Read it now, before DC decides to mess with the archive again!

Christine: Got the book today. Looks good so far; I've read the first three chapters so far. *Sigh* The scene when Tahm came home... I'm tellin' you, my eyes bugged out so much, they could be seen five miles away. You really enjoyed that, didn't you? ;) And later today, I'll read further... just needed a few hours to let my mind come to terms with THAT unforeseen event...

Fire Storm: Seems it was just a brief hiccup. But premium services? Uh, I wouldn't know about those - I never bothered exploring them; maybe I should...

Shadowrider: About water... for that matter, ever considered what a slow, steady drip of water can do to a rock? Patience seems to be the key, eh? ;) As for trouble seeking me out... it's something I'm somewhat used to... nine years as the... not precisely the scapegoat, but more of the public laughing stock... has taught me to keep my calm. 'Course, there are those who I am just *waiting* for to make another offensive move against me... Revenge is a sucker's game, but oh! how sweet it is when it falls into your lap like that. ;) And the Latin translation... yeah, you're right - that does sond better. *Scribbles down the translation*

Emambu: Waitaminute... Romeo and Juliet are GOLDFISH? Argh! That hurts... so the solution would be that the window blew open, hit the fishbowl, and the bowl hit the floor, shattering. Did I get it right this time?

Winterwolf: Your friend sounds like someone I could like to hang out with... *ponder* Heck, I think I could enjoy the necromantic powers, myself. Imagine the vast number of practical jokes... ]:)

Ooo, new Pendragon ep... I'll read it when I'm done with the post.

Actually, I'm done with the post now, so... *Joins the stampede.*

Hey all, I'm looking for a few good volunteers. I promise it won't take a lot of your time and you'll be helping a good cause.

Okay, here's the pitch: I'm looking for people who are already planning to attend upcoming Science Fiction and Fantasy Conventions or Gaming Events, especially those folks on the WEST COAST.

I'm also looking for people who are friendly with their local COMIC SHOP, GENRE SHOP, or OTHER LOCATION or who belong to a SCIFI, FANTASY OR GAMING CLUB who would be willing to post CONVENTION FLYERS.

If you fit any of those criteria and would be willing to post flyers for THE 5th Annual Gathering of the Gargoyles PLEASE CONTACT ME as soon as possible.

Thanks!!

Hi ya'll. I bought a new car last Thursday. It's a 99 Escort, metal flake red, with practically every option I could think of. (5 speed instead of Automatic, though. Oh well.) Since the car I was driving was a ten year old Sentra with a slow oil leak, a cracked windshield, and a headlight held in place with JB Weld, I've moved up in the world.

Emambu> They died of asphixiation (sp?). I'll let other people try to figure out why. :>

Hi! I finished my first picture page from the pictures I took at the Gathering. If you want to see them go to http://www.veoweb.com/members/brooklyn/g2kpics1.htm or click on my name and I'll take you there directly! :)

Caliope> My first pictures are up with more to follow soon! ^_^

Jessie> Enjoy the first set! :)

Spike> <story going into production as an audio drama> That's wonderful! Congratulations! To this and many more future successes!

Kyryn> Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had fun at your dinner! Was that a dinner/party? **sends you birthday wishes**

Warpmind> <friend> Then it was really just a laugh shared between friends and there's no harm in that. Except for a little hurt pride I suppose. ;) <uniques> I understand. My friend that is higher level than me is the unique king at the moment. Everything he has excluding rings and amulets are unique items. He gets +6 to all skills with the items his character uses. That makes one powerful necromancer. He is great to party with since he keeps the monsters busy while I kill many of them.

Spacebabie> Your very welcome! If you want to see you pic and some others check out the page! :)

Christine> I can remember many games I've been in where making characters took forever so I can relate. I know your game will be a great hit! ^_^

Shadowrider> <cinematics> I completely agree! Each one brings the story to life. :)

Niamhgold> <fun> I try to have fun whenever I can. **hugs** Thanks for asking! It sounds like you are having fun, which is great! ^_^ <email> Do you need me to resend the message? I keep a copy just in case of such emergencies! <caricature artist> That sounds like fun! Are you thinking of joining her to see what it's like? :D

Rodlox> Welcome back!! You gotten several people worried sick about you! How are you these days?

I don't know if I should put my Gathering experience here for everyone to read because it is a bit wordy and long and should probably be proofread. Still I want to share my experiences.

Okay I just tried to post it and it was too long to fit in the scroll box. I'll upload it and post the URL soon.

Good night! Don't let those bed bugs bite!

*Emambu strolls in wearing an assortment of Pitt paraphernalia and holding a schedule in his hand. After a few seconds, he slids comfortably into an easy chair*

I gotta say that, without a doubt, this forum has the most comfortable furniture. I'll be making appeals to the webmaster at my own site for some of the stuff that you guys have acquired. :) Not much to say so far about college life. I arrived earlier then most of the other kids which allowed me to unpack without the hassle of having thousands of people running around like madmen. I met my roommate, who's pretty nice. He's a tad quiet but I prefer that to obnoxiously loud. He also looks a lot like a blond Liev Schrieber. I'm going to rent "Sphere" tomorrow and show him because I don't think he believes me. I got my computer up and running (obviously) but I don't have a workable e-mail account. That's why I haven't posted my e-mail address next to my name. As soon as it's fixed though, I'll let you guys know... and I'll be able to send some long over-due comments to various fanfic stories. Lastly, classes start tomorrow. While I'm not too worried about the work content, I am a little worried about the personality of the professors as well as the atmosphere of the class. My high school, despite all its faults, really tried create a strong student-teacher relationship and I really don't think I'm going to have that luxury anymore. After all, the size of my freshman class increased about 10X. Enough about me though, let's see what I've missed over the past few days.

Janine: Congrats on your new boyfriend. I hope he is able to fill your life with joy and happiness. Also, good luck with classes.

Lady Mystic: I'm probably too late on this one, but I would categorize the pics buy series first and then by species. After that, they can be listed in alphabetical order. Just my two cents though.

Katara: That is one cute panda. :)

Todd: A belated birthday congratulations to you! I hope it was special.

Warpmind: Well, if you really don't mind taking another crack at it (anyone else can to, though I thought this one was old enough that it would have been solved a while ago): Romeo and Juliet are found dead in a puddle of water in a room with no way in other than a small window. There's a table next to the puddle of water and there's broken glass scattered in and around the puddle but nothing else was found in the room. No wepaons were found, no viles filled with poison, nothing save for the objects already described. The window, while open, is intact and is much too small for a human to crawll through. Now, how did Romeo and Juliet die?

Here's some hints: 1) Don't think of the two shakespheare characters. The names of the victims are purely coincidental. 2) Romeo and Juliet, although their names are human, they themselves are not human (that's a big clue BTW).

CrzyDemona: Cool pics! I'm glad you had a good time.

Caliope: I'm glad to hear that the hurricane didn't hit you full force. Too bad about the rain, but considering what might have happened I think it all worked out for the best. Again, it's good to know that you're safe.

Stephen: Close... it's Emambu (you had one too many "M's"). I've checked out your page, and it looks like you're off to a great start. I'll be checking weekely for updates. Thanks for posting my comments and thanks for cleaning up the typos. :)

Also, I know this is late, but you have my best wishes on your job interview. I hope you were able to get the position you wanted.

Archwolf: I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Good luck with school. Too bad about your date, but there's always next time.

Kyryn: Happy belated birthday to you too.

Gunjack: Glad to hear you're feeling better. Usually listening to "Your Song" by Elton John or "In My Life" by thr Beatles helps pick me up when I'm depressed, so I'm glad to know that the wounds are healing. Also, happy belated birthday. I'm not sure how I missed that. *grins sheepishly*

Mecord: Hey, even members of the Third Race need to vent every now and again right? I have no doubt in my mind that you will always find support here if you need it. Also, as soon as I get my e-mail fixed I'll try and send a lengthy critique of your story to you. I'm glad to hear that there are others on this board who have many cats too. :)

Niamhgold: I really liked that picture of the world map that Gside had on his site. Would you mind sending me a few more samples of you work as soon as my e-mail is up and running?

Firestorm: ROTFL! :) Congrats on the DSL boost too.

SJ: for mentioning Christ you must endure the misfortunate of having Jerry Falwell come to your house, kick in the door and start shouting about how you're gay, your computer is gay, and everything else in your house is gay, gay, gay. :)

Gside: If you're still working on the RGG, I have one question: How are you planning to do the random dice throw? My limited tinkering with Java (hopefully that will change after this semester ends) resulted in unsuccessful attempts to get something like that to work. Actually, that looks as of to be the hardest part in the coding. That and incporating the numerous amounts of pics needed.

Kathy: That Gathering 2001 page looks mighty cool. It sure makes wish I knew whether or not I was going. Although with my luck I'll probably be near it, but not be able to attend (kind of like how this year turned out).

Shadowrider: You're welcome but it's the truth. It was a nice way to commemorate the fallen (profound in it's simplicity so to speak). BTW, I had another relative visit Italy not too long ago. She got back yesterday, and had a wonderful time. I'll tell you, your country does a good job at stunning us with its visuals, and impressing us with its culture. Then again, half my family is from there so maybe I'm a bit biased. :)

DPH: I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Your logic does not sound flawed, and I hope everything is straigtened out soon. I know from personal experience that these things never seem to give, in the end, an accurate result of what actually happened. Still, you have my wishes, and I'm also glad to hear that you were not harmed. That, if nothing else, should be counted as a major plus.

Green Baron: My condolences on your loss. She sounds like she was a wonderful person, loved by those who knew here best. If it's any comfort, you still carry memories of her inside you. As long as you have those, she is never truly gone from you life.

Brooklyn: My critique of Episode 3 is done. As soon as my e-mail gets fixed, yours will be the first one sent out. Just to let you know though: this was my favorite out of the three due to the plot twists, and the detail that you give your characters.

Jessie Feff: Thanks for posting your Gathering stories. I'm glad to hear that you had a good time for the most part.

Kitainia: Thanks for the well wishes. I'll admit it was a bit intimidating at first. I felt like Morgan Freemen at the end of "The Shawshank Redemption" where he says, "I just want to be back where things make sense." After all, I knew absolutely no one coming here. I had no identity at all. However, my roommate introduced me to a few of his friends, and I'm slwoly working out a system. The first day was the worst, but it's been getting beeter ever since. This, ultimately, leaves me optomistic about the future.

Doug: I'd like to see Bedazzled, but I think you'll get there before I do. Let me know if it's worth it. BTW, I've had comments on your story for so long that I think I'm just going to post them here regardless. It's not like there's anything bad in the review, nothing that I couldn't say publicly (after all, I did say that I liked it). However, I know that it's sometimes better to read it via e-mail. Then again, it's not fair to you that it's taken this long. Let me know, becuase I have no problem with either possibility.

Also, I tend to share Christine's view: You are a writer, plain and simple. You have the talent, but you're lacking the desire right now. That's fine. Almost every writer has to take a break sooner or later. I take breaks from my reviews and my writing all the time. I wish I show a bit more ouput on the latter part but... :) Anyway, when things in your life return to normal (or as close to normal as possible) I'm sure you'll be able to find the needed inspiration. And, of course, you'll always have support here if you need it.

Mary: I hope you're feeling better.

Spike: That is so cool! Let us know how things progress (particularly where we go to order copies). :)

Rodlox: Welcome back! A few of us were getting worried.

Daniel Johnson: LOL! Great quotes!

Pendragon: Everything I wanted to say about the story has already been said, so I think I'll take this time to congratualte Lady Foxglove on the incredible drawings. I personally loved the glare that the Arthur gets from the eagle in the one pic. Also, the pics of the wolf were fantastic.

That's all for now. I hope I didn't miss anyone. Take care,

First of all, let me correct an omission from my last post:
CSH> Congratulations on the CD.

And now for a further explanation for my last post: Expos is short for Expository Writing (or Exposition and Argument, in our case), the *required* English course at Rutgers.

I have been working more on the rgg. Just finished coding up the hair output. I am glad that they invented switch, and I don't have to use a mess of if/then/elses. However, I am not sure if I could finish by Wednesday, and I don't think it quite fits the submission guidelines. The source code could fit in as a .txt file (though it's preferred to be labeled .java), but an executable doesn't work, and for the "kinds of submissions [] Avalon Mists want[s]," it might barely fit under Game-related material, but that doesn't seem quite right. Heck, it doesn't even fit the requirements for the challenge that inspired it. (That was probably all an excuse for me not to feel bad about it not getting in under the wire.)

Happy birthday Kyryn.

Fire Storm> <<I just figured that no one would actually give him a copy>>: We're pretty generous (if we are consious), and we were all doing our papers at the last minute (and didn't really care about expos anyway).
<<I will weave a nice composite cocoon>>: That would actually probably make a good engineering final. Even more so if no outside materials were used.

Shadowrider> <<think of water: a drop of water is totally unoffensive...but what can resist to a tsunami>>: And how can one forget oobleck? It normally just oozes along, but hit it and your fist bounces right off. (recipe for oobleck: mix cornstarch and water with a couple drops of green food coloring) Oobleck is quite fun (a favorite of engineers and scientists), and so counterintuitive.
<<there's no doubt that at the Blizzard they know how to make a cinematic>>: I heard that they won an award for the Diablo intoductory cinematic at a film festival.
<<in Latin any phrase was supposed to have a verb>>: At least I did make sure to put honor in the ablative.

Daphne> <<listening to the Monkees>>: That could be my fault.

Na zdorov'ya.

**drags in a trailer behind him with Kyryn's Execution^TM cake on it. Stops to catch his breath for a moment before handing over the remote**

Sorry 'bout that, moving crew's on strike. Pick yer flavor, happy belated b-day.

One more thing ...

Spike: Now might be a good time to mention that the octopi are usually *cooked* before they're thrown (boiled, normally, because they'll bounce better). Also, the sizes of the octopi vary a *lot.* Case in point ... in '97 during the Wings' Cup run, IIRC, someone threw a *39-pound octopi* on the ice, complete with a bowling ball shoved in its head to make it bounce.
But what makes me wonder is, how'd he even get it *in* the arena?!
Oh, and while I'm on such a roll here ... Mr. Hockey, huh? Gee, I didn't know you were Gordie Howe's mother. (I know, it's late. Anyway, that's what a lot of folks around here call Gordie)

Hey all!

***DARIA MOVIE SPOILERS!***

I SO loved seeing Quin getting out of her shallow personality!

I SO FEAR this is the shows "Hunters Moon." I SO fear that was the SERIES finale.

Sure, It tied up a helluva lot of loose ends, but it also created alot of new ones.
It was great! It felt like the end.

I am confused. :(

I LOVED it! Janes bisexual thoughts! Daria and Tom! Kevin and Brittney! (What, did they get a -20 on the PSAT?). Quinn showing <GASP!> intelligence! The crying fashion club girl (I can never remember her name!) showing a spark of intelligence, but flushing it down the toilet for being "popular." And Quinn (My favotire part!), showing up Sandy!

And I don't know about you, but I couldn't get into the chat. :(

***END SPOILERS!***

For the rest of you who DIDN'T see the movie... SHAME ON YOU! :)

** Niamhgold enters **

Hey, all? What's up?

Nothing new on the homefront. I'm still a bit busy, but I'm meeting a lot of nice people :) I've recently met a girl whose mother works for Disney, so she always got summer jobs as a caricature artist in the theme parks. Pretty nifty, eh?

Spike: That is soooo cool! I'm very happy for you! :D

Winterwolf: Thanks for the prompt e-mail! However, my server's been screwy there, so I only got to read it before it crashed :( Having lots of fun, though...are you?

Doug: Whoa, I read that post way too late! Man, your work is always going to be missed...I'm glad to hear that it wasn't feedback that was a problem. But, will you maybe bless us with another story again if those creativity demons repossess your head? :)

Adios!

Sorry for double post, I forgot something...

Warpmind:> About the Latin stuff...Gside's translation is OK, but if I am allowed to make a suggestion...well, in Latin any phrase was supposed to have a verb...so I'd suggest: "Non superbia sine honore est". This way, the meaning turns a kind of "There's no pride without honor", but the phrase will sound a bit more "Actual Latin".
Just a suggestion, anyway.

See you all!

Just some replies today...

Warpmind:> About the fact of how the flesh can be at the same time soft and hard, it is itriguing indeed...but, think of water: a drop of water is totally unoffensive...but what can resist to a tsunami? Or air...you eventually can't feel air, but the power of a hurricane can delete a town. And think to the grass...there's nothing more inoffensive and defenseless, isn't it? But, in years, the simple grass can pulverize stone with its roots. There's always a logic...
About the rest, well, I agree...I've been thaught that a fight is the last resource, to be used when there's no other way...and, although I'm not the best of Taekwon-do students, I tried to learn and apply. Furthermore, I am for nature a tolerant person, better versed to reflection than to violent action...but, sometimes, there's the impression that troubles come searching for you, isn't it?

Fire Storm:> MTV programmation: hmmm...sounds rather depressive to me, indeed...and in America it makes success? You Americans are really strange in some things...anyway, they should change the channel's name: MTV is supposed to mean something like "Music Television"...and, as you tell me, they practically don't broadcast it anymore...

Winterwolf:> Diablo II: taste is taste, indeed...and I cannot deny that the power of magic has its...how can I say it?...grasp. I mean, I *worship* running into the thickest packs of monsters and start cutting them down to size with my flaming sword screaming a shameless warcry...but pointing a finger and evocating huge flames from nothing...that is power, isn't it? Speaking of flaming swords...any comments about the Diablo II cinematics? I've just seen the third one...the one where the Archangel Tyreal appears and fights Diablo...as far as I'm concerned, there's no doubt that at the Blizzard they know how to make a cinematic. (just look to Starcraft's and Broodwar's ones...)

Gside:> About Diablo...see below. :)
About grammar...oh, well, I'll do without the equivalent...but I find the thing intriguing, anyway.

Kyryn:> Happy Belated Birthday!

That's all! Good night!

HI all! Pink... Maaaan... why pink?

Angie-chan:: Why not pink?

Wow, haven't posted here in a bit-- man it's been a full week and my doza has done NOTHING to repair or replace my monitor. Hmmph. IF he wasn't half of my genetic code...

Anyhow, camp has ended. Hooray! I've been payed and most of the money is going to my "Get Mara airsick for six hours on the way to LA" fund. The only problem is my kids were *crying* and didn't want to go home. Apparently I'm one of the more popular counselors this year. (what else is new?)
Almost made me cry... man I'm gonna miss the evil little Children.

Tonight is Summerslam, so if anyone needs me, I'll be the one painstakingly close to a large-screened tv and attempting to stroke Triple H's large pecs through glass.
Just thought ya should know...

Man, I need a life.

Oh yeah, I owe you all a Gathering exploit.... soon, babies.. soon.

Doug > about the book, I haven't even seen Tim hardly all week to tell him about billing a new one, so I will hopefully have a chance to mention it tonight. Hold off 'til Weds. Got it.

Warpmind > I'd have to ask Tim because he's the business and mail guy; see above, have barely seen him all week. :( Between both our works, the company picnic, and going to Dragonflight on different days ... who is that stranger leaving his socks on the couch? ; ) But I think it was some time ago that he sent it.

Winterwolf > six is just the number of people I feel most comfortable handling in a game, that's all ; ) I had seven yesterday and it went pretty well, though. LOL ... I scheduled my game to run from 11:30 to 6 PM, because I always run over, right? Took them about two hours to get their characters made up because one guy kept interrupting with entertaining gamer war stories. Three of them ducked out at 2 long enough to sign up for a 7 PM event. But when someone finally pointed out it was 7 o'clock, all three of them basically said "screw it," and stayed in mine. Had another guy whose wife was getting increasingly impatient over waiting, a kid whose dad kept coming by to see if he was ready to go yet ... we ended at 9:30. Damn I'm good! ; ) All that, they were totally into the whole EIB thing, and not a single combat. Can you imagine? A con game without combat and they _liked_ it! Woo! Anyway, it went so well that I'd love to run it again at the Gathering. Though this time I'll make up some pre-gen characters beforehand to save some time ...

Doug again > I have a feeling that this is only going to be a hiatus for you ... whether you're currently writing or not, you _are_ a writer. It's in you, and you'll never get rid of it. I mean that in a good way, you know, not trying to scare you or anything. You're very good, you have the knack and the fire, and I'm sure that when things settle down in your life and the stresses lessen (say that five times fast), you'll be inexorably drawn back to the keyboard. Which is a good thing! ; )

8 more days til new DBZ
21 more days till the troll ships off
29 more days til new Buffy/Angel

Now for reviews

Cybersix debuted Data seven a highly intelligent attack panther set out to attack Cybersix. It turns out the brain of the panther belongs to Six's brother 29..I wonder if there is a seven of nine? also debuted a kid named Julian. I'm looking foreward to seeing more of Dataseven and maybe a few more eps with Juilian
Digimon: this Ken/Emerpore is a jerk. The guy is full of himself. We got to see David's sister and learned that cody's father is dead. Patamon and Gatomon recieved their armor and it appears that Gabumon and the other's digivolve when the spiers are destroyed. The music is much better than last season. I hope a CD comes out.
Escaflowne: Intorduece's Allen Schezar and his Mecha. Allen is a cool character and I believe is voiced by Brian Drummond((Robby can you verify this?) although I'm not sure why that one villian sounds like a kid/woman when he isnt. It also appears Van has a thing for Hitomi. He looked a little jealous when Allen kissed her.

Ah, Semtex. Gotta love it. :) For some reason, I can't log into my usa.net accounts... I think they're suffering some downtime or something. Guess who's at the heart of it?

Green Baron: Lovecraft story with cat army? Hmmm... Bast's involved there, isn't she? Mmmm... Bast. ;)

Winterwolf: *Hir* I've had to move quite a few points to Strength, yes, but not all of them - my amulet, for instance, gives +18 to Strength, and my rings and pike give a few extra points there, too, as well as to other attributes. Don't recall all too clearly about my boots or gloves (funny - on Nightmare level, I use more unique tems, 'cause it seems they're getting WAY better than the Uniques in Normal difficulty...) but I know I've got all my stats boosted. :) As for my humiliating experience... alas, our relationship is strictly platonic. ('Sides, I kinda doubt her husband would approve otherwise - she's just a friend of mine.) We occasionally play a few games of chess or other such intellectual games.

Spike: Ooooo, I *loved* "Despair and Deliverance"! Do let me know when and where I can get that CD! :)

Hey, all. I've been gone for a while, I know . . . I just have one question: Where can I access the archive of 3rd season TGS eps? When the season began I was just too busy to read them. Having three family members in the hospital simultaneous with moving 32 years worth of stuff from one house to another is not fun. So now that things are back to something resembling peace and quiet, where can I go to catch up? There's no "season 3" link in the Gargoyles archive.

Alternatively, could you just give me links to this season's eps? Or even just a list of titles? Usually you can guess the episode's file name if you have its title.

Thanks!

Warpmind> <<do entwives have ent-titties?>>: Depends on whether they nurse their young. Though would tend to expect them to be entities unto themselves.
<<you increase Skeleton Mastery>>: Nice. The working was unclear to me in reference to magical damage.

Shadowrider> <<Where the sound of steel colliding, where the warm, salt taste of spilling blood?>>: Replaced by the sound of metal rended by a spike of ice, and the smell of charred bodies. That, and necros let their golems take care of that business.
<<So you don't use such constructions?>>: Upon further consideration, we do have hundreds, thousands, millions, billions, trillions, and sagans; but those are used to imply huge quantities that you don't seem to want to use.

Warpmind> <<a translation of "No Pride without Honor">>: Non superbia sine honore. That or: Nulla superbia sine honore. I'm not sure whether no is an adverb or adjective.

Fire Storm> <<Sgt. Pepper and his band>>: Sgt. Pepper taught his band. And they're always in style with me.
<<Did he get a copy?>>: Yes. You expect people to be asleep at college?
<<WTF is <How to Get an Idea for an Expos Paper> all about?>>: Short answer: nothing. We had a bunch of papers to read and then apply each one to all the previous ones. That was a chat log of between two people talking about the papers. Us being engineers, disrespected the topics of the papers, especially since they were crammed with buzzwords. We theorized that we could ace the course if we kept a random number generator running long enough, with a buzzword assigned to each number.
<<I was walking in the parkway>>: Sorry, not a clue. Though, in case you were wondering, exit 109.
<<What does that make me?>>: A promising larva.

SOROW> <<I haven't posted in a week, but no one really notices anyway>>: We notice, but assume "she'll post soon" or "she probably has a good reason to be away."

Honey, can you tell me what your name is? Well, I don't know the name of this one. The new mp3 is Don't Know the Name of This One by Maynard Ferguson and Sam Kenton.

Might I make a slight correction, Spike ... the fish thrown are *octopi*, not squid (eight arms as opposed to ten). And there is significant meaning to it, enough that the octopus is an unofficial *mascot* for the Red Wings, right down to Al the Octopus (a 25-foot in diameter purple octopus that resides in the rafters of Joe Louis Arena for the entire regular season, then opens home games in the playoffs).
Significance: Back when only eight wins were required to win the Stanley Cup in the NHL playoffs, in one particular season (I think it was '50, IIRC ... FS, LM, feel free to correct me) the Wings won the Cup by winning eight straight games. The next year a Detroit fish market owner came up with the idea of tossing a symbolic octopus on the ice ... eight arms = eight wins.

However ... don't try it in any other city. Also, ya don't want to do it in Detroit even if it's the middle of a period, because due to NHL rules the Wings get penalized for a game delay. (And they get dead serious about no octopi at road Wings games in the playoffs, so much so that during one series against Chicago, fish market owners were requiring *driver's licenses* to purchase octopi.)

I kid thee not, there is a squid patrol and squid bins for people to dispose of their squids before the game. A few people manage to get them in and, yes, they do throw them on the ice.

Top Ten!!

Hi! Not much going on this weekend I'm finished writing my gathering report and now I'm getting all the pictures ready for the web. So I should have it all ready soon! :)

Christine> <game> That sounds cool. What's the significance of six? Does it have to be exactly six to get a game going? You know six is actually my number witch is the only reason I'm being so silly right now. ;)

Spacebabie> <school> Sounds like it was a rough week! Enjoy your weekend. I imagine it will get better once you adjust. :)

Caliope> <pictures> Shall I just put them up on the web and give you a link or would you like me to email them to you? It's only about 3MB in pictures. :P <closest I'll get> Ever? :( <what have I been doing?> Well I've been trying to build a romantic relationship, but so far I find that I'm very bad at it. I've had absolutely no success. So I wind up just hanging out most of the time. ^_^

Mecord> <long list> I think Gside saw my confusion. I thought the entire list of new releases was yours! I'll be reading both soon and sending feedback. <cats> I really liked the story with your cats. I could actually see the parallels you mentioned. :)

Doug> <fanfic> It is a sad day to find out you will not continue your fanfic at present. I believe that this will not be a permanent change and that your love for writing and creativity will return. May this dry spell pass sooner rather than later.

Niamhgold> <busy with artwork and fanfic> **big hugs** I'll really going to miss not having you around as often but if you are getting plenty of artwork and fanfic done then that's wonderful news!! It sounds like you have your creative energies flowing at full power again!! :) I eagerly await any and all fanfic as well as artwork pictures you'd like to send my way!! ;) I'd be extremely honored if you would like to make use of my editing suggestions in your new fanfic!! ^_^ <email> Yes I did. I'm sorry I didn't write back sooner. My reply should be waiting for you in case you haven't see it yet. **more hugs**

CrzyDemona> Excellent!

Gside> <skeletons in Diablo II> My friend plays a necro and these are just our observations. After normal skeletons are mostly fodder, bosses kill them in one shot. Magi does increase missile damage with levels but never increase hp 61. Iron Golems and revived creatures are lethal! Magi are useful since their range extends off screen.

Warpmind> <Necromancer is a magician-type character> That kind of concerns me. How many points have you had to put in strength and how many will you put in dexterity? Big damage weapons seem to require very high strength. I know there are items for strength but eventually you wind up wearing what you have to wear vs. what you'd like to wear. For melee use dexterity must go up every level or you can't hit effectively anymore. This gets ugly fast IMO. However if it works for you I must say Congrats! :)
<humiliate> It sounds funny and I doubt that it was more than just a laugh you both were able to share. ;)

Shadowrider> <warrior> I just didn't find the warrior classes an attractive character choice in Diablo II. With the monsters I've seen melee is not where I want to be and I've been almost completely successful in keeping out of the monsters range. For the times I haven't Frozen Armor saves me from taking more hits than I can. I understand the glory of personal combat and would revel in it myself but not in Diablo, at least for the time being. ^_^

Fire Storm> <DSL> You lucky scoundrel! I need to get a nice speed boost myself. It is torture trying to upload pictures with a modem.
