Greetings, all!
Emambu>> you're quite welcome
[pauses in memory of a great teacher who died this week] I admit, I freaked out at the funeral... First open-casket viewing I'd ever been to. God Bless you, Mr. Kop.

Have any non-philadelphians heard about the bread-squeezer? this guy has been going around to supermarkets squeezing bread and poking cookies... he's caused $9000 in damage. I'm still not sure I understand the verdict... It was iverturned, but I'm not sure which way, because he was guitly for the cookies and not guilty for the bread... And I'm probably confusing you all. well, good. I'm confused, too.

censorship>> ok, the Cr@p/sh!t thing I relate with. my question is why is d@mn not considered as bad as some others? If you think about the meanings, it's actually as bad as if not worse.

Milk tax>> i'm not even gonna venture a guess.

Happiness to all!

Not much to say except the room size needs to grow. 1/2 meg per week would be nice because it is not taking me long enough to read the CR room.

I will do my part to increase the size of the room if everyone else does their part.'

Aaron<<I happen to LIKE Eminem>> Maybe I'll check him out. I'm always looking to expand my musical horizons.

You may like him or you may hate him but he will piss you off either way. That's why I like him... also it makes the ten year olds stare in awe when I can repeat all of "The Real Slim Shady" from start to finish without fainting from lack of oxygen.

Trigun> Hmmm, I've gotten to watch the first two tapes, the 2nd subbed and the first subbed and dubbed. (Pretty good dub, except for a couple of changes that bugged me)

What changes? Personally, I like Vash's VA. So cute and so versatile...

So, how long do you think it'll take Meryl to admit she's attracted to Vash?

Whenever she can get it through her thick skull that he IS the $$60 billion man.

And yeah, I hope Greg brings whatever he's worked on to the next Gathering. It was a lot of fun, MiSTing it with him there.

Hehehe... dibs on the floor again!

Politics:: I don't know whether I'll go through with it or just wimp out and vote Democrat like my mom wants me too, but I've been considering Nader, since he has the least press and dammit I want to piss off people.

I still can't believe Bush and Gore won't do a debate using the WWF as an open forum... WWF smack down your vote has gotten 90,000 people registered in under two months... does that mean nothing at all to them?

Hi! Hopefully everyone is enjoying the weekend! I'm between activities and thought a little post was in order!

Niamhgold> <busy> LOL! You really love being busy! Congratulations on the new job and as long as your happy that's great! :) <Gabe> I hope Gabe is feeling better now! It's just for fun and he shouldn't let it get him down or upset! <everything will get better> Thanks! You're right of course! I'll let you know how it goes! **Hugs** ^_^

Gside> <compatibility> Don't worry about it! We love you in here! The test just goofed on your scores! ;)

Taleweaver> Alright! I'll be watching too!

Mandolin> Yeah! I knew you'd get it to work out great! Congrats! :)

Caliope> <Nahir> I was wondering who Nahir was! Actually I wonder about a few names in my secondary list! ;) I might have to stop by and sweep Nahir off her feet! Of course that's if Nahir is a girl! LOL! <weekend> Enjoy! I'm getting ready to head back out myself now! Until next time! **Gives you a hug and an innocent little kiss** ^_^

Doug and Kit> You know you two could really write one amazing book about your life! Happy to know things are getting even better for the two of you! :)

Lucy> I believe this was Spike right? Excellent work! It's great! I got a big smile when I took a look! ^_^

Okay. I've got to get ready for tonight. Going out with the guys!

Firestorm> Thanks, I like it and thought I got a good deal for it.

Politices> Giullani dropped out of the senate race actually. And that was a good thing, cause I'd have to go and vote for Clinton. Now I'm not sure who to vote for, but I'm glad that Facist Giulliani isn't going to Washington. Did you know this artist in NYC has been arrested and fined for drawing and selling pictures he did of Giulliani as Adolf Hitler? The "Mayor" there is violating First Amendment rights. Yes he has cut crime, but the cost of that was too high. The guy is having homeless people arrested. If by any chance Giulliani ever becomes President, I hope some one kills him.

Sorry for the rant, but I really hate that evil Facist.

Taleweaver> Congrads. I normally don't watch game shows, but I'll watch that day. The whole fandom will probably be watching you.

<Fire Storm strolls into the CR with a rather large older German male next to him>
"Hey all! I would like to introduce you all to DC's cousin, the destroyer of cars, Otto Mobile."
"He made me mad. He fragged my car. HE killed my car AND made it so I couldn't go to work Friday OR get my paycheck."
"Say hello and good bye to him, cause he's agonna die!"
<FS pulls out his dual Pulse-Plasma-Minigun and just lets Otto have it all. After 10 minutes, FS runns out of ammo and Otto is just a little smudge on the floor>
"Hmmm... Nope. Still not enough!"
<FS whips out a uzi and empties a clip into where Otto's head smear should be.>
"Hmm... Nope. STILL not enough!"
<FS pulls out a face hugger and slapps it on DC's face. Several hours later, a chest burster frees it's self from DC's ribcage>
"Ahh... All grown up now! Please, hold this grenade and stand on this pile of blood!"
<The stupid Xenomorph holds the grenade for a few seconds, after which the grenade explodes, covering the area with a yellow-green acid which burns through the smear of Otto and a bit of the floor>
"Hmm... Yes, that shall do quite nicely!"

When I was coming home from the store, I turned a corner and heard a HORRIBLE grinding noise and a "thump" every time the tire turned.
THANKFULLY it wasn't the tie-rod, but the RIM! Yes, the rim was nearly sheared off! The only thing holding the tire on was 2 bolts out of 5 on the car!
I am SO glad this happened in front of my house instead of on the freeway at 65! That tire would have come off and I probally wouldn't be here right now! (I would DEFINATELY be in the hospital!)

Robby: <ANyone else here remember that night?>
Oh yeah! I remember that night!
When was that? I know probally 1998 or very early 1999, but when?

No info on the company, eh? So that piece of equiptment must be over 20 years old.
Man, i am glad I checked into that before I bought it!

Warpmind: <So let's drink to keeping Rapture at bay, right, lads? :)>
May happiness be forever un-fulfilled! <G>

Gside: <Quinn>
Odd song. I quite liked it!

Politics: Is it just me or is everyone's decision on president either picking the worse of the two evils or just randomly picking?
We really don't have much of a choice this year, do we?
I don't mind if Gore win's, but I am voting libritarian.

Green Baron: <Firestorm is the only one who caught on by IP. The only other one who could catch that would be the JEBster. I am
impressed, Firestorm. I figured it would be good for a laugh :)>
<IP> Yeah, I trace route nearly every IP I see. It tells me where the people that don't post their location are. For example, You (Timmy, anyway), Sj, Wilek, and who-not.
I got a good laugh out of it!
And Thank You <Bow's modestly>
<I guess, but being related to Wallis Simpson was something my grandfather saw as an embarrassment.>
At least it ain't Homer Simpson or OJ simpson, eh?

Greg "Xanatos" Bishansky: Beautiful blade for only $45!

** Niamhgold enters, yawning **

Hey, all? How are you guys doing? I know it's been a couple of days but I needed to get some work in order. I've got a new job, in addition to school work, so things are going to get even *busier* than they are now :)

Winterwolf: ** Hugs ** got the e-card, and the ice-roses, you're so nice! Yes, they very much did brighten my day! :) I'm heading over to take some of the other tests, soon, my friends are having a ball with it! (Except for Gabe, who came up as an accountant and was offended...he's one of those guys who feel that artists shouldn't be interested in any other field but art :() Hope everything is going well with your personal life, don't feel bad about e-mailing me with stuff! I promise you, everything will get better!

GB: <Disco dancing and stipping> Damm it! How did I miss that? I'll have to get him to do an encore some time in the future! As for politics...I know who I'm going to vote for, but I hate getting into discussions about politics since I'm liable to upset *someone*. Let's put it this way: I'm picking the lesser of two, well, fools. ;)

Caliope: I saw you on my list of compatability! What a fun test! :) Don't worry about the Spanish take-home test, I'm sure it'll be muy divertido!

Gside & Caliope : Parentage: Let me see...my family is a jumble of Chaos. My mom's a choreographer/costume designer, but that was after she went to learn sports medicine and cancer research in a couple years of med school. My dad, on the other hand, is a computer scientist/aeronautics designer, but he didn't go to college. He could've gone to MIT (he still gets letters from them), but didn't have the money or the desire. And my bro...well, he's fourteen and I can't quite tell anything about him yet, but he looks interested in architecture and computer science--although, like his big sis, has a little bit of an interest in illustration and chemistry, too ;) Gside: <keys> Heh, problem was they _were_ attached to a laynard. But, around this city, you shouldn't walk around off-campus wearing a laynard that advertises you as a college student, or else, presto, you've got instant mugging ;) So I put them into my purse. <Accountant> Don't get me wrong! That's fine...but, somehow, I'd peg you as the mastermind type. "Just don't learn German..." ;) <Thirteen> I say that our cult society screw up all the clocks by adding the 13th hour...because, damn, I really need extra time in my days!

Warpmind: <So *grin* how ya doin'?> I'm doing fine, thanks ** readies a snap-prepared towel just in case ;)**! (Hmmm, gotta get Brian to take this test). So, was the monkey touching the man or was the man touching the monkey? ;)

Doug & Kit: Thanks for the wishes; and I hope to have my next fic out soon...d@mn college workload...

Adios, compadres!

Well, just like last year, I'm going to a get-together for adults with Asperger's Syndrome. And it is the upcoming weekend; 29th to 2nd. Which means I won't be able to post then, but I'll probably have a good time anyway. ;)

Christine: Oh, good - how'd you like'em? :) Oh, and that also reminds me - I sent you some GURPS artifact stuff, didn't I? Any guesses as for when those will show up in the 'zine, if at all before the shutdown?

Taleweaver: Congrats! Ask their brains out; that's how you get answers. ;)

Revel: Glad to be of help; though, if you asked Greg, you'd probably get an even more accurate answer - I just presented *my* theory on the subject. :) Oh, and if you don't mind my y chromosome, I'd be honored to split a room - provided I can find the means to afford the trip itself, that is...

Gside: Agreed; Griswold was far too good a man to be reduced to a mindless minion of Diablo's... :( Still... he was quite the challenge, no? ;) As for Guildenstern... no, I think I can safely assume he never had this particular coin...

Well, that's about it. Gotta run; got some packin' to do...

Calíope> <<is your brother the black sheep of your family then?>>: Nope, just the artiste. You can see some of his work at my link. Most has the prefix "Tim - ".
<<My brother is also proabaly staying in the science area to>>: Freaky parallels.
<<Your 100% compatible with... I'm 100% compatible with>>: The closest I get is one 84, followed by an 81 and an 80 (which just happens to be the same person as the 84). I don't think I really belong in this fandom, but I rather knew that at the beginning.

Warpmind> <<And the Griswold reference was to the first game>>: Natch, but I can still pity his fate.
<<I don't know *who* Guildenstern was>>: Neither did he. But we are almost sure that he was a companion of Rosencrantz. R&G are Dead is a play based off two minor characters from Hamlet. But the thing is, in the play, probability essentially stopped for the first half, so when Guildenstern was flipping a coin, it always had the same result. I'm not completely sure why I was reminded of the play.

Spacebabie> <<they killed Tom>>: But they reinstalled him, so I have no big problem with it.

Taleweaver> <<Yours truly will be on Jeopardy later this month as a contestant>>: Enjoy. Another person I slightly know getting on a national gameshow. So far, one of my middle school teachers was on (would've won if we wagered more at the end), and I fellow Rutgers student (who spent nearly five minutes insulting my mother) was on WWtbaMillionaire.

To all Texans complaining about how Gore is describing your state, welcome to the club. My state (Arkansas) was described very badly when Clinton was 1st running for president. Frankly, I do not believe a word coming from presidential campaigns describing any state in the union because of the way my home state was trashed.

Hi all,
I got some BIG news. Yours truly will be on Jeopardy later this month as a contestant. That's right, I will match wits with Mr. Trebek and two others to win money and glory. (I'm partial to the money) I'm going up on Oct. 25. *grin*

Tenchi saa> Of the three, I prefer the first one. There are some plot gaps, but only one or two bad episodes compared to Tenchi Universe that had way too many fluff pieces. And definately the OAV is head and shoulders above Tenchi in Tokyo. Someone should tell them that a villain needs to be involved in the story. Nothing that's happened in the soap opera part of the story s Yugi's doing. Sakuya I don't out right hate. She's just boring. If Tenchi and Sakuya wind up together it's just another story of a boring couple, blissfully happy with one another. Boring! I watch, especially anime to see ordinary people thrust into extraordinary situations or extraordinary people thrust into those same extraordinary situations. What made the Tenchi love heptagon so enjoyable was seeing Tenchi negotiate the very volatile minefield between the numerous girls. And lately, the actions Tenchi's made in the past few episodes put him up to be more of a mondo jerk than anything else. But overall, this third series has yet to impress me.

Duval> I guess with hints and teasers being dropped like rain. I should add that there will be an episode involving Duval and Jennifer. I won't say anymore, just cackle maliciously.

*Warpmind enters, pondering.*
Is it just me, or does it seem the Olympic Spirit is experiencing a revival this year? I mean, this african swimmer who swam 100 meters for the first time in a 50-meter pool, at a record-*bad* time, still finished... And that was when he was all alone in the pool, too... I'm guessing some of the ideals that seemingly have been dead for ages aren't really dead, just sleeping... who knows, by next Olympics, we might actually see ordinary people competing for fun. :)

Christine: Right on. Oh, and you *have* received the four CoC investigations, right? (I didn't get those maps scanned, so I used the Ascii version...)

Revel: Unlike cats' eyes, gargoyle eyes seem to actually produce light themselves. Thus, there you may have your explanation. Cat eyes merely reflect the light, and as such, there's not enough light to reflect color. But when your eyes function as flashlights, well... :)

GXB: Oooo, that sword looks nice. :) But here's another link for the weaponry-interested: www.brubakers.com - lots and lots of swords and stuff. :) Haven't been there in a while, though... I guess I should. (But, since I haven't been there in a while, the link may be dead, and I'm not assuming responsibility for that.)

*Hands Jannie a glass with something green and fizzy.* Jeeze, with that description of your workload these days, you sound like you *need* this... :| Hope things turn to the better soon. *Hands over a "Wheel of Fortune" card from a Tarot deck.*

Winterwolf: Well, 65% ain't bad - I'd worry if it dropped below 50, as that might suggest our practical jokes weren't as innocent as they are. ;)

Spike: Yay, cute card. :)

Doug: Oooh, tranquilizer arrows... y'know, most people would use *darts* rather than arrows, but I can imagine she handles them expertly. :) Oh, and as for Jammer being about to rent "Ice Castle"... there is a quite reasonably large chance it is another film than the one I referred to - when I said "Ice Castle", it's becasue that's the best direct translation of the Norwegian (original) title. And, knowing how movie titles often are translated, I'd say it's probably safe for him to watch... but he might want to read the cover first - if it states the original title is "Isslottet" and it was recorded in Norway, he should turn and flee as far into the hills as he possibly can. ;)

Gside: Thanks for the links in the e-mail. I've been thoroughly examining them since I got it. ;) And the Griswold reference was to the first game, not the sequel. As for the coin, well, I don't know *who* Guildenstern was, so... it's possible...

Jackal: You're a deaf performer? Sounds a bit impractical, if you ask me. ;) Seriously, though, you sound like someone I'd rather have with me than against me. :)

Well, that about sums up this post. See y'all later.

Green Baron><Yes, that was my joke :) Firestorm is the only one who caught on by IP. The only other one who could catch that would be the JEBster.> Actually, I figured it out, too, but the Internet line in our area decided to go down (glares at DC) while I was trying to set up a post.

BTW, the personality test pegged me as an accountant type. Well, being a nitpicky Virgo fits that, although I do editing work for the accountants instead of being one. :D

Jaden> Good to see you back for a while!

Real quick before I get ready for class... the photos for "Little Bunny Foo-Foo" are up on my site. They're eventually going to be part of the Hood Theatre website, hence the bars and title. Click my name to see how insane we all were. (Yes, that IS the Good Fairy. Yes, he was imitating the Rock. Yes, I am planning on getting a copy of the videotape.)

DOUG - I saw that episode of "Batman Beyond", and thought that it was pretty good myself - although, actually, I'd forgotten about the "ace" part. The two bits that I most remembered, and got a kick out of, were:

1. The bit where the King is complaining about "do you know what it's like to always live in someone else's shadow?", to which Terry replies, after defeating him, "Actually, I can relate."

and:

2. The bit at the end where Paxton Powers is protesting that he wouldn't have dreamed of helping assassinate Bruce Wayne, "he's like a father to me", to which Barbara Gordon replies "Bruce Wayne doesn't glow at night."

OMG, yall!!! My son and I went to see Christina Aguilera, here in Atl on Wenesday, it was the bomb!!! And we had damn gud seats! It was..., it was.. omg!!! It was mad fun!

The voting issue- I don't think I will vote to be honest. But I don't know, if I don't have anything else better to do, I will. But in all likely hood, I'll prolly be masterbating or sumthing. I'll just close my eyes and punch it in, would it really matter who it votes for?
Hmm.., I just relized that last sentence didn't sound too gud!! :o)

Lil survey thingy- I didn't compare myself to anyone, but these were the results:

"Like just 5% of the population you are a PERFORMER (DEAF)--You are extroverted and strong-willed..., you are good with people and aren't willing to let opportunity pass you by. Congratulations. I'm sure all the peons you've stepped on never saw it coming and didn't feel a thing.
You like being naked.
Anyhow....., your exuberance can earn you many friends and admirers, despite your ambition, or it can intimidate the less confident into keeping their distance. It's also possible you're Madonna."

I really should remember to copy my post to notepad when I try to do something funky with navagator (e.g. try a georgaphical ping). Let's see how much I can reconstruct.

Read the latest Pendragon. Once again, very good.

Dev. Jr.> <<If it's a joke, but NOBODY gets it (outside of someone with a PhD), is it still funny?>>: Yes, because he is referencing material a football is not supposed to be able to understand, makeing him an apparent non sequitor.

Warpmind> <<Hey, I wouldn't know - I got it from a chapp called Joey Tribbianni>>: Right, I was referring more to the plying Niamhgold with innuendo.
<<I can't really imagine this CR's rulebook as being one of those heavy, brick-sized tomes>>: Oh, you meant the CR rulebook. I would be scared of the collected archives though. But a brich isn't really that large.
<<the mp3 I sent ya... take your time>>: I try to put requests up at the next opportunity. It just happened that Green Baron gave me an opportunity (two songs removed, though).
<<he could make out the letters "GRI_W_LD" just beneath the hilt>>: That poor zombie. I feel sorry for him.
<<Halting for a moment to pick up a small, divinely enchanted coin>>: Did that happen to have belonged to someone named Guildenstern (presently deceased)?
Side note: interesting quote: "All your life you live so close to truth it becomes a permanent blur in the corner of your eye. And when something nudges it into outline, it's like being ambushed by a grotesque." I thought it was somewhat appropriate considering the subject of the CR, and if I may take the time to reccommend the movie and/or play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. I didn't have to look up how to spell their names. Sad, no?

Jannie> Good luck dealing with your students.

Random thought> Should there be some indication of which week Traveler killed in the CR archive?

Mandolin> Congratulations on the contest.

SRS Jr.> Enjoy the bandwidth.

Not that I could ever have the finances to buy something like that. :) Thanks again for your encouragement on the recent messes related to Gus, we appreciated it. And on your interest in politics, I'd say go ahead and run for President if you can. Kit and I just might give you our votes. :)

Just got back from the talent show, and there's good news and bad news.

The Good News: We pulled the damn thing off. The audience was howling. It helped that the guy who played the Good Fairy was doing a dead-on impersonation of the Rock. I'm getting a copy of the videotape and I'll try to post photos tomorrow.

The Bad News: One of the entrants was this incredibly talented guitarist who sang a song that she wrote herself. She was easily the best act there. She didn't win the $100 first prize.

We did.

I'm still in shock, and I need to print out my Honors paper now. Will post the link to the pics tomorrow.

Doug> Thanks for your support there. And I'm glad the B-tch is no longer a problem. As for the submarine, well I honestly wouldn't know. Oh, and if Gus is ever a problem again, let me know and I'll grab my sword and come down to Texas and help you two out ;)

Politics> I think I should become a politician sometime. I don't like the way the government is being run at all. And I'd like to think I'd make a Hell of a president. I know I wouldn't be concerned with TV violence or any of that other crap, I'm all for artistic integrity, as long as no one gets hurt. That'd be my policy "The rights of people end where other's rights begin."

Alec Balwin> The guy's acting mentor and friend is a good friend of my mother's and I've heard nothing but good things about him as a human being. Though since I heard it from a friend of his I'll admit I probably only hear the good things. Still, I hold no negative opinions on him.

And here's Part 2 of the post I made below (don't worry, Robby, Kit and I will never make them have more parts than this!).

Dame Corax: Congrats on passing the test, I bet you had to work hard for that. Good luck with those upcoming, and the homework too. And getting time to sleep, can't forget that. Don't worry, it'll all be worth it. Especially in the feeling you get when it's over. :) I too am glad the original Batman's coming back to TV, I'll definitely be having Gubio tape the eps. If there was a show that popularized the comic fight and the cliffhanger, that was definitely it. :)

SJ: I completely agree with you on the Redskins, their owner needs a major wake-up call. The players too, but him more for hiring them. <sighs> You're also right about Alec Baldwin. I dig the guy's acting, especially as villains, but some of his opinions really make me grit my teeth. <shakes head> As for the Olympics, well, I for one would rather watch girls doing gymnastics than people eating rats for millions of dollars, but that's just one horny perverted freak's opinion. <earns Kit's ire by drooling over Dominique Dawes on the bar> :) The other people in the world are entitled to theirs.

Nadia: What Coyote said about your relationship you should definitely take to heart. I can't add much to it, except to say that if you feel pressured to do what you alluded to, you probably shouldn't do it. Something like that should happen at a time when you are both completely sure you want it to happen in the relationship, not before. Ever. Yeah, I know Kit and I are one to say that, since it only took us two months, a month after first base,…but we were sure. And because love was involved, it ended up being good. It has continued to be so. :) We of course want it to be so for you too. Sorry we haven't said anything about the situation before by the way. We've been debating what to put down. :) Hope this advice is enough. Feel free to rant in here anytime, like Coyote said. We'll give our sympathies and advice to you. And venting prevents explosion. :) Good luck with the situation, hope it's soon resolved. Good luck also with your schoolwork (I can not imagine having to deal with seven courses at once in college…Good luck! :) and the other hassles in your life. Especially hope that you find a new friend as good as your roommate was soon.

Voting: Kit and I agree with all the bad stuff that's been said. We hate Bush for not having a lot of the knowledge he should have if he wants to be President (not all the questions the press has asked him have been gotchas) and for neglecting his current job to campaign for one he often acts like he's already won IMO. Some reactions he's had to various things also bother us. :( Jannie has said good things about Bush, we know, we agree with them, but at the same time we do have to consider all this too. We think highly of his wife and like what we've heard of his children, but as for the man himself…<sigh> Gore- well, we hate him enough to have planned a dire ending for him in the RP that we'll do soon enough. As soon as we finish the business in Minneapolis. Heheh. Things we hate about him? The list could go on for ever. His lies, his dumb jokes, his opinions on various things, his recent comments about our home state (which is a great place to live despite the problems), the awful way in which he kissed his wife…we don't need to go into it. Don't even get me started on the boy's family. Kit and I are definitely not voting for either one as President. In fact, we're not even voting for anyone currently on the ballot. We're gonna write in and put a check beside someone else's name, that of a man we respect immensely and who we are sure could do the job of President way better than anyone else who's asked for it this year- Alan Keyes. Yeah, I know his chances of winning seem like slim to none, especially since he isn't campaigning anymore, but our sense of honor demands we vote for him instead of the other people anyway. And who knows? Maybe if enough people who don't like the choices on the ballot remember they have another option besides not voting at all, he might actually win. <shrugs and grins>

SOROW: Don't worry, we still enjoy your posts whenever you make them. Wish you could stop by more often, but we understand. Congrats on the various good things that have happened in your life recently, especially getting your e-mail working again. Kit and I are pretty jealous. Heh.

GXB: Like I said above, thanks a bundle for your encouragement on the Lorna situation. Kit was indeed able to handle her easily (though her ribs are still sore from a nasty kick the <bleep> gave her before she and the Tower security guards could administer full restraint). Kit would have used her taser, but she'd forgotten it that day. <shrugs> Even without it she's definitely not a pushover, her opponent was winded, and help was close by, so it all worked out fine in the end. Nice sword, thanks for showing it to us. Congrats on the buy, hope it didn't set you back too much. By the way, speaking of eBay, is it true one can currently buy a Russian submarine on there for the current asking price of a few million dollars? I heard a rumor in Russian History class last semester one could, maybe you're in the know. Congrats on ending your job at Shop-Rite, since that seems like what you wanted. Hope the experience of it was good in at least some ways. Good luck with your school, and your next job too, whenever you get it. I know I'm not the only one who hopes it turns out better than the last.

Spark Tests: They sound interesting, Kit and I may have time for them tonight too. We'll take them when she gets home. :) Thanks to all who have posted the link.

Jannie: Thanks for expressing your political opinions, Kit and I were glad to read them. We don't entirely share your thoughts, but it's still good to be reminded that sometimes people who seem so aren't all bad. :) Good to see you back, welcome back. :) Glad you're doing alright, despite all the hassles in your life. Good luck with them, especially those students. They really sound like terrors, I bet the principal only makes the situation worse. A bit of advice I hate to give on the situation- don't try going to their parents about the bad stuff. You'll regret it immensely. About a month ago on my job I was working at the 290 store, and I encountered two women who were having a rather vicious argument. One of them had stopped in the fire lane in front of the store to drop her kids off before finding a spot, which is perfectly legal and okay, and the other one's eight year-old daughter, who had a learning disability, had leaned out the window of her mom's SUV and yelled at the first woman for holding them up. This irritated both women to no end, especially the first one, who thought the daughter was swearing at her at first. So she started following woman #2 around for a while, to talk to her about that once she stopped, and this made woman #2 worried, so she honked at me and got me involved. We talked about the situation, and woman #2 got very upset, especially when woman #1 said her daughter had been swearing (she wasn't) and when I told her that she should be angry at her daughter about the problem and not woman #1 for pointing it out, that a learning disability is no excuse for letting your child scream and yell at other people for no good reason, that such practice is asking for trouble in fact. (Such kids can be taught to act responsibly and nicely despite learning disabilities if a parent only puts up the effort- Mary, Stephanie, and I are living proof!) I was able to calm them both down, while amazingly remaining in control of myself, but it was a very tense situation. One I'd only wish on my worst enemy. Thank God it wasn't Holder involved in that, he was still working for us back then. <sighs> Like I said, good luck dealing with these little brats. And good luck with your daughter too- I totally sympathize with the attitude you have about your relationship with her. It's awful to hear bad things, but good to know she's alive. It surprises me too she's joining the Army, hope they can straighten her out a bit. You know, she reminds me a little of a guy who works with me named Calhoun. He makes mistakes and refuses to learn from them, talks about wanting to do things that make no sense (the boss has offered him overtime for lots of extra money on numerous occasions, but he keeps insisting he wants a part-time job instead, can't figure out his reasoning), and somehow he's managed to stay with us nonetheless. A while ago, he quit for a job that would have given him a higher salary, but they were gonna put him in a work environment he didn't think he could stand the boredom of (a guard station instead of patrol), so he quit that before his first day even started and now he's back with us. He's expressed a desire to join the Army too, numerous times. Again, I can't understand his reasoning. I hear he still lives with his Mom even though he's 21, that he depends on her to wake him up every morning, fix him breakfast, and remind him of stuff. If anybody needs straightening out and lessons in self-sufficiency and the way things work… Like I said, good luck with your hassles, hope they are over soon or at least ease up. Hope I have the same degree of luck with this and other causes of frustration. :)

That's all for tonight, sorry for the length of this post (or posts) inconveniencing anyone. I had a lot to say, and as you know, Kit and I are the kind of people who have to say it all. Traveler was too, God I miss him. :) See you all again next week, maybe before if the occasion arises. Hope our paths are smooth till then, with many benefits and few hassles. And if it gets bad, maybe some of you, like me, can feel better after a little time with their significant other and the music of Garth Brooks. Later!

**RESUME RP. APOLOGIES TO FANS OF EMINEM ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS WITH HIM IN THE SECOND PARAGRAPH**

"That's some story, Orion," Anthony is saying as the screen comes back on displaying the inside of the Onslaught trailer, which the Ravens are resting inside as they have stopped outside a Wal-Mart in Des Moines to rest for the night. "So you still don't know what happened to her after the demon took her away?" Orion shakes his head. "I hope to find out someday. I have delayed this long not because I do not care about Tanith- I do, I still love her very much- but because I know that finding out what happened to her and rescuing her if she was in danger might require that I undertake a journey into the bowels of Hell itself. Thus I have spent these past years building up my knowledge and power as a cleric in order to be able to undertake that journey and stand some chance of surviving. In the course of my quest to do this, I was appointed to a position at a church in Nacogdoches, Texas, where I met and trained the paladin Benjamin Shapiro. Through my friendship with him and my reassignment to the University Baptist Church in Austin a few years later I met the Ravens." He sighs. "I must say I have gone through many trials since joining their company, ones that have made my power immense. Perhaps after this business with Thailog and Ted Turner is done I can go and see about Tanith. I would definitely like to." "And we'd be glad to go with you," says Kit. "Just make the offer." "Wouldn't we need to find a portal to Hell first?" Stephanie asks. "I know where one is," Orion answers, grimacing. "Roughly anyway. Fortunately it's not one that has to remain closed for the world to survive like the one in Sunnydale, California." "I know of one too," Anthony says. "Maybe we can use it if I'm still on Earth by then." "You have some spectacular story to tell us too?" Jammer turns to him with a raised eyebrow and asks. "Maybe that you've told us before?" Doug adds. "Orion's recounting brought back a lot of memories for me. Maybe you…" "No, I haven't told you before," Anthony cuts in, sighing. "And I'm still not sure how you'd take it." "Don't be worried," Tricia says. "You're our friend. We'll understand, whatever's in there." "Yeah," Boris agrees. "You've helped us out in three pretty tough battles so far- on the Avatar with Mephisto, with Jerec, and with those bombers too. You think we're gonna forget that?" Anthony frowns. "I understand his hesitance," says Mansfield. "You guys were certainly reluctant to accept me and Leah." "That was because we were worried about you still working for Thailog," Tom replies. "But you have no idea about this guy Anthony's past!" Leah points out indignantly. "And from what I've seen, you don't have the slightest problem about having him on the team!" Everyone frowns at this, Anthony especially. "She has a point," Doug says, several others nodding to show they agree. "Enough," Kit cuts in before anyone else can say anything. "Anthony can tell us when he's ready, I think it's alright. Is that okay with all of you?" Doug and a few others shrug and nod, but the rest stare at her in protest. Keith, Stephanie, Leah, and Mansfield look especially angry. "We can't just have this guy with us and not know about him!" Stephanie expresses herself with a grimace. "What if he's like Jaden, with bad guys from his past just waiting to jump out at us?" "Yeah," Keith agrees. "I know it's really up to him if he wants to reveal his past to us or not, but…" Anthony grimaces as all eyes of the team turn his way.

"Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?" Asil is meanwhile asking a crowd of Eminem lookalikes in a stadium in Atlanta. When she gets no response other than shocked gasps and stares, she fires her BFG and obliterates two of them. "Please stand up!" she repeats, punctuating her command with another blast that kills three more of the lookalikes. "Please stand up!" As the next blast goes off, security guards do their best to hold back the panicked screaming crowd of fans, whom Asil continues to ignore. "Alright, alright!" Eminem shouts finally, stepping out from among his lookalikes and bowing with a large grin on his face. "I'm the real Slim Shady! Now what the <bleep> do you want, <bleep>? Is this about something I said, something I did to a friend of yours, what? I am calling the police about you shooting my buddies here!" "That's already been done!" someone from the audience waves a cellphone. "I have grievances," Asil replies to Eminem, smiling. "Your music says terrible and untrue things about women and other people, and yet is somehow very popular. I don't like this." "Well, blame them!" Eminem waves at his fan, the majority of whom suddenly stop yelling and trying to push past security to stare at him. "They buy and listen to my music! I have freedom of speech to sing what I want! Can I help it if it's popular?" "Drug dealers say the same thing about selling their product," Asil growls. "Don't you realize it's immoral to publish such garbage? And sell it to people when they could be hearing better music instead?" "Again, blame them!" Eminem snaps, waving at his fans. "I've done nothing!" "You want me to kill your loyal fans in order to save your own life?" Asil shakes his head. "You're that full of yourself?" "Haven't you listened to my music?" Eminem replies with a sneer. "Ego's all I'm about! Me, me, me! God, lady, you are one dumb <bleep>!" "That's it," Asil growls, raising her gun as several in the crowd clap and cheer, others holding up Eminem CDs and cracking them in half while others yell swear words and give the rapper the bird. "I was going to do this eventually, but I was hoping to banter a little more first. Since you…" "Wait!" an angry voice cuts in. Asil and everyone else turns to see a slim blonde woman who's somehow made it past security climbing onto the stage "If anyone's going to kill that lousy stinking mother<bleep>er, it's gonna be me!" she shouts. "And you are?" Asil frowns, noticing that Eminem is growling in anger and four of his lookalikes are holding him back as the rest wail over their dead comrades and giving futile protests to Asil. "His ex-wife!" Kim Mathers screams. Asil raises an eyebrow, then smiles and hands her the BFG. "Now, Kim, don't do anything stupid!" Eminem whines as she cocks it in the way Asil shows her and takes aim. "You don't want to kill me! I can change! I take back all the wrong things I've done, all the things I've said! I'll have that awful song you hate so much taken off the CDs, I'll recall the ones out there that still have it! I'll issue a public apology in Rolling Stone! I'll do anything! Just please don't fire that gun!" Kim looks at his pants, then at his face, and smiles as the lookalikes release Eminem and he falls to his knees in an expression of pleading. Asil raises an eyebrow, drawing her backup pistol. Kim flashes her a grin and then shakes her head. "You <bleep>ing liar. Shut up." As Eminem's jaw falls open, she fires and he is reduced to a pile of dust and a huge black stain on the ground. "I have to take that back now," Asil tells Kim as everyone around them gasps and stares while sirens echo from nearby. "Thank you so much," Eminem's ex-wife smiles at her, handing the gun over. "I feel so free now, I…what's your name?" "Hey lady, killing that guy was immoral as Hell!" somebody shouts from the audience. "He deserved it!" Asil retorts. "You know I'm right!" She then turns back to Kim with a smile. "My name's Asil. If you ever need me, here's my card." She hands the smiling Kim a slip of paper and then runs off to make good her escape as the sirens get louder and the screen goes blank.

**SOMEWHAT LONG RP HERE**

"You imbecile!" Kovu rants at one of his thugs as the screen comes on displaying the gem-filled cavern beneath the Underground City. "I specifically said I wanted that genie's power! And you have to kill him by destroying his lamp!" "But, boss," the thug whines, "I was aiming at that human man holding it! I hit it by mistake! I…" Kovu cuts him off by drawing a laser pistol and shooting the thug dead, causing the other six remaining thugs and Tiara as well to simultaneously gasp. "I assure you," Kovu smiles as the dead thug's body crumples, "my shooting skill is much better than yours. The rest of you will practice enough to put yourselves at that standard, understood?" The startled thugs all nod, some looking frightened and others angry. Tiara is also glaring at Kovu with a look of indignation, but she holds her protests inside because the thugs are nearby. As Kovu chuckles and turns away from them, a shout rings out from behind a large stalagmite in the cavern. "Kovu!" Terrell cries out in a challenging tone. "Now I'm sure it's you who have been behind these attacks on us! I know you're there too, Tiara. You two are as thick as thieves, loyal to each other as dogs! I'm surprised you're not a couple!" "Love brings weakness, Terrell!" Tiara laughs in reply. "As you make clear by hiding when we stand ready to do battle with you!" As she sneers, a purple-furred paw briefly emerges from behind the stalactite and throws a rolling pin at Tiara, hitting her hard in the forehead and causing her to fall over gasping in shock and pain. "I'll teach you not to say things like that to my husband!" Annabelle roars, loudly enough to be heard over the volley the thugs and Kovu are firing in retaliation to her toss. "Hey guys!" Gubio shouts as it subsides. "We just saved your city from a nuclear disaster! Our business here is done too! Don't you think that should allow us to at least leave here alive?" "Abdullah has bid us to kill you if you interfered in any way with his designs down here!" Kovu retorts. "Since you got rid of the bomb and killed one of his lieutenants, we can now comply!" "Idiot!" Tiara screams at him, unable to restrain herself as she gets up and slapping Kovu across the cheek. "What?" he protests. "They'll be dead soon anyway. Who cares if they know why?" "Traitors!!!" Terrell roars suddenly, leaping out from cover and firing his laser rifle at the surprised thugs. Gubio, Mist, and Erin, who has been shaking her head in disbelief for the last few minutes, are quick to follow, while Annabelle, lacking a weapon, remains crouched behind their cover. Their initial volley takes out four of the six thugs, while the other two, Kovu, and Tiara dive for cover sporting moderate wounds or grazes. "Filthy humans!" Tiara spits, hurling a stick grenade just as she hits the ground. "Looks like we have to finish them off," Gubio says to the others with him as it flies over their shoulders and the explosion shakes the cavern. "Agreed," Erin sighs and nods. "Don't worry," Terrell chuckles as he reloads. "Once he finds they were traitors, Vincent shouldn't get too mad."

"Ah, nuts!" Mary shakes her head elsewhere as she and Fasil look at a score display on the television. "The Americans won the gold in another event! What about the Irish?" "Now, now, Mary," Fasil chuckles. "Remember, Erin is in love with an American. They can't be all bad. Although I must say that it is worrisome that in athletic matters this Olympics they are so superior to the Turks…" As he shakes his head, the doorbell rings. "I'll get it, that must be the pizza." As he stands up and starts walking over, a curious Hassan and Patty come out of their rooms. "It's the pizza," Hassan says to his little sister. "Ali's Pizzeria sent us an order by mistake. Mom didn't feel like cooking tonight, so we're taking it." "That's funny," Patty frowns. "The only pizza place around here is a Domino's franchise owned by a guy named Haroun. There's not any Ali's Pizzeria in town that I know of, and I've read the phone book." Fasil hears her and frowns also, hesitating as he reaches the door. More insistent knocks and doorbell ringing echo from the other side. "It looks like two pizza men," he says after checking the peephole. "Go on and open it, dear," Mary says. "Maybe Ali's is a new business." Fasil looks at Hassan and Patty, who shrug. He does the same, reaching for the knob. A hand suddenly appears and catches his arm halfway. "Don't!" Lloky cries out, now visible. "Those aren't pizza men!" As everyone turns to face her with a shocked expression, the door suddenly shudders and falls to the ground, knocked off its hinges by the flesh golem's heavy fist. It and Jazeem, the illusion covering them dropped, stand revealed in the doorway as the screen goes blank.

**END FIRST BIT OF THIS POST'S RP**

Hey everybody. Feeling good today? I know I am. Got back my first test in one of the classes I'm taking (we had it last week, Dr. Bore-a-Rock-But-Getting-Better wanted to give one earlier than everyone else) and I got a B+, which for me is wonderful. As are better, I know, but I'm the kind of student who makes them rarely. <sigh> Even better, Kit doesn't have to worry about Gus's girlfriend (you know, the person she mentioned as having cussed her out on Tuesday? Thanks to Greg "Xanatos" Bishanky for his words and prayers related to that, thanks also to any others who gave theirs but didn't say they were) anymore. Somehow she got the idea that it would be poetic justice to make Tower fire Kit as revenge for her getting Gus fired. Thus this afternoon she was in the store and tried to walk out with a bunch of CDs, DVDs, and other merchandise she hadn't paid for (store loses merchandise to shoplifting, store loses money, store has to lay off workers, most recently employed ones are the first to go and Kit's only worked at Tower four months). It set off the door alarm, and the store's security people (who had already spotted and tagged her as someone worrisome) were chasing her out into the street. Just then, Kit (who was heading for work) had turned the corner on her motorbike and saw the incident. Guessing what was happening when Lorna Saunders (Gus's girlfriend) dropped some merchandise and the security people called out "Shoplifter! Stop, thief!", she joined in the chase too. Eventually Lorna ran out of breath and collapsed on the sidewalk. Kit pulled over and with only minor difficulty restrained her as the store guards ran up and put handcuffs on. About two minutes later, the police arrived on scene and took Lorna (who cussed Kit out again when she took off her helmet) away. Because of this she should end up in the same place her boyfriend's in now for a while, Tower frowns on shoplifters a lot. Needless to say, Kit and I are very relieved about this happening, it was exciting for a while too. :) The press, not surprisingly, did have questions about the event, but we gave no comment, not wanting the attention. Your congratulations in here will be enough. <grins>

Two things I want to note before replies: 1. Kit and I are having problems with our e-mail right now, it won't let us send messages. We can still receive but we can't send. Thus we're thinking of getting rid of our current Internet provider and finding another one. Their tech support department's help with this situation has been ineffectual. :( For now, we have a new e-mail, DougElder21@yahoo.com. We'll change the address to mention Kit as well as me once we verify it works- I sent a message to Christine with comments on her latest book a few days ago and am waiting on the reply to know it went through. Hope it arrives soon. :) Y'all can still send e-mail to the old addresses (frostfire@mail.utexas.edu and space_coyote@sprynet.com) if you like, just don't be surprised when you get replies from the new address. 2. Once again, there weren't any good-looking new movies this weekend, so I don't have a review of one in this post. In fact, the way it looks right now, I may not have one until the week of Oct. 6, when Get Carter with Sylvester Stallone, Rachel Leigh Cooke, and other good stars comes out. That film looks like it has a lot of great action and a decent story behind it too, making three things about it Kit and I think we'll like. Just wish Hollywood would put out some more films before it that seem worth watching. <sigh> We may go see Almost Famous, but we're not sure. On with the specific comments and replies.

Rodlox: $ Just an query- do you still want to be involved in the RP? Kit and I are worried because you haven't made a post with a bit of it for so long. If you still want to participate but lack the time right now, we understand. We're even willing to write bits involving your characters for you, as evidenced below. We enjoy having them in the story too. :) But if you want out for any reason, just say the word. <sighs> That can also be written. $

Warpmind: Yep, Shauna's as deadly with an arrow as most are with a shotgun. :) Especially when she tips the heads with tranquilizer poison as she does when she's hunting. Many a deer has been put into a merciful sleep before being tracked down and killed with her knife thanks to that. It saved her from being killed by a mad puma that had earlier mauled a game warden a few years ago too. She'd never use it on a person IRL, that's illegal, but on animals it works wonders. Every time I see her intelligence and skills in action I too have to catch my breath. :) Thanks for mentioning all the things you did about that movie Ice Castle btw, Jammer heard some guys at the club where he works talking about all the "great action" in there last week and being the big fan of action films he is, he was gonna rent it. You fortunately changed his mind. <grins>

Guandalug: You're welcome. You don't have to post often, just whenever you can. Kit and I used to post a lot more than once or twice a week like we do now. <sighs> Then our lives got busier.

Spike: Thanks for letting me know that a Caledonian Clan story is on the way. I look forward to reading it. No offense, but it really irritated me when TGS ended last season with their fate after Morrigan and her troops broke into their cavern unresolved. :( Nice pic of the London Clan children, btw. Thanks for posting it. Hope to someday see all the characters in there and learn their personalities and names.

Christine: Thanks for letting Kit and me know about Greg's Birthday, we'll definitely send our regards. Good luck with those publishing companies, Kit and I have been praying they won't all send back rejections. Hope you got the e-mail I sent (see above), and if so that you are able to reply to it soon. :)

Shadowrider: Don't know if you'll read this, but good quote. You'll have to let me know where you read it when you get back. :) Looking forward to the stories you mentioned you'll probably have by then. As I've said before I hope the time goes by quickly. Good luck. Fare thee well, friend. :)

Mary: Like Kit said, congrats bigtime on getting your sister moved back out of the house. If my sister were like that…well, let's just say I owe my freedom and she owes her life to the fact that she's not and leave it at that. :) Hope she can meet the real Bahemut someday like Sarah met the real Kit and have all her words about him being what she said he was thrown back in her face! L. Good luck to both you and Bahemut in the future and to you in school as well. :) With that heatwave too, we know just how you feel here. Last week it got up to 112!

Gside: <nods> You hit the nail right on the head with Shauna and pool. That's another thing she's really good at. Mention her name to the pool enthusiasts down at Paradox (the club where Jammer works) or the UT Union and you'll get nothing but jealous praise. Good points on Huck Finn too. Kit and I also hate Illinois Nazis. And Texas Nazis. And German Nazis. And Nazis in any way, shape, or form. It should be obvious why. If we ever are held up by one of their parades while driving, we're doing what the Blues Brothers did. :)

Jaden: Nice story about basic training, it's good that you were able to survive and handle it despite all the various hassles they put you through. <shakes head> Now you know why I've never been in the military, and learned most all the skills they can teach you that are useful elsewhere in other places. :) I'm sorry it's not working out for you so far, hope it improves at least a little before your three years end. Good luck in Korea, I look forward to your stories about the experiences you have there when you return. Be careful too, I'm sure many people have already said that. We all have good reason for it, as you know. I too would be worried if I had your job, though Kit does make good points about why one shouldn't be too worried. <shrugs> Have fun while you're over there, if you can. And please convey to your twin sister my congrats, hope the marriage is happy and if so lasts a long time. :)

Green Baron: $ Glad you were just kidding, sorry I missed the joke. Heh. <shrugs> Don't worry, we won't be bringing her onstage for a while, we're gonna let you finish the current storyline your characters are involved with (the Russian subplot with Benny Hinn- who I'm wondering about btw. Is he a real person? I've never heard of the guy.) first. And there will be a few posts with her and the others going through training as Laybourne's evil Scouts before they actually are sent after your Scouts too. Seeing them subject to Nickelodeon game show treatment, drenched in slime, and protesting about it all a lot should be fun (Janet Jackson will be complaining about her suffering especially- apologies in advance to fans of her in here for the treatment, Kit and I are doing it because of her comments about Renee Zellwegger a while back- when the actress was gonna introduce Janet at an awards show she asked who Renee Zellwegger was and made some very rude undeserved remarks about her and Jim Carrey while asserting her egotism- and because we think she's a selfish jerk. We'd include her brother Michael in the torture too, but I think he's already been killed somehow in the RP. <sigh>). Hehehehh.

**PENDRAGON SPOILERS AHEAD**
Decent job on Giants in the Earth. Seeing Eddie, Char, and Lucius again and getting the development we did on the latter was fun reading. (Always nice to see a group of bad guys at odds with one another- anyone else see the new Batman Beyond episode last weekend? It had a great script full of very good moments from the Royal Flush Gang that were in such a vein. The jokes throughout it were nice too, especially the one about having an Ace in the hole. :) Also liked a lot what was done with Merlin and Mary, it was a bit cliched but still quite enjoyable. Her bits of indignation were entertaining too (loved the one with the basset hound). And I liked the pic of her and Merlin, most of the dialogue, and the development on Arthur too. The bad thing about the ep, and I know people have said this before but I'm saying it too, was the giants. They should have been used as more than a plot device to drive the character interaction and development IMO. And talk about boring cliches! <shakes head> Hopefully this is the last we'll see of them, I'm probably not the only TGS reader who wouldn't mind if they just kept right on sleeping forevermore. <sighs> That's not the reaction a writer wants, I know, but I still feel compelled to mention the mistakes. The ep was great and very enjoyable otherwise. It was especially good that they didn't find Manannan's Mantle at the end, I look forward to future plots involving that (which will hopefully be interesting in more than character development). Looking forward to the Caledonian Forest episode next week too and finding out that clan's fate. I also hope to see Jennifer Camford again soon, maybe Elaine and Norman as well. Definitely have to see Duval, and find out what involvement he has in the Connection business (I know the Illuminati must be connected to him in some way, no pun intended :). Also, I wonder if I'm the only one who wants to see Merlin and Nimue encounter each other again this season. It could make for quite an interesting story (one that could develop their characters and Arthur and Mary's too) if they did. <grins>
**END SPOILERS, BACK TO REPLIES**

Emmabu: Looking forward to your comments and outline whenever you can send them. Congrats on getting into the choir, you deserved it. Thanks for your words on Gus and Holder, I too am glad the business with them is now done. The business with the former's girlfriend too. It seems it's done anyway. Sometimes we still worry. <sigh> But that should pass with time. I too hope we get some rest now. We need it. Congrats on the good luck you had with your last weekend, hope it continues for a while. Glad the wound healed too, and your friends are apologetic about it. My congrats to your grandfather on surviving so long in this world, glad he has a good family to make the time easier. :) You're welcome on all the encouragement, which I was happy to give to a friend.

Mecord: Sorry to hear your weekend went so badly, it amazes me how worse things got. <shakes head? Hopefully they have improved by now, and won't go bad again for a while at least. Good luck bearing it, congrats on being able to so far- I admire your strength. :) <Gus ain't the type to get time off for good behavior> Definitely not. :)

Niamhgold: Glad that Kit and I aren't the only ones with the occasional lucky break in our lives. :) Congrats on getting your keys back, to be specific. That was indeed fortunate as heck. Hope the pace of your life eases somewhat soon, excitement can be fun but isn't good in large doses. Looking forward to your next fic, whenever you can get it out.

Lady Mystic, Firestorm: Got some time to glance over the pics that made the cut this week. They look great, and are definitely all ones that deserve it. :) Thanks again for posting them to the archive, hope that we are soon able to see and use them all in the CR.

End of Part 1.

**Winterwolf enters through the front door**

Hola! I've been having a pretty good time these past two days! Some very special friends have made me feel really loved so I sent each of them a nice little surprise! ^_^

Warpmind> <glue> That was quite a sticky situation! :D Hey it was fun and in good spirit so I played along and we had a few laughs! I'm really happy how Dreamie saved the day for me! ^_^ <65%> Were only 65% compatible? I guess it is your dislike for politicians that made the percentage take a hit! ;)

Guandalug> <rules for driving in NYC> I like your additions! LOL Now we just need to add the rules for bikers! :D

Caliope> <personality test> I guess I could save you some time, on my people I know section you came in third after Dreamie and Niamhgold at 89%. It must be all the hugging! ;) **HUGZ** <classes> That is a great position to be in! College is a wonderful time and there really are so many different things to learn I'd love to take advantage of that! <driving> That is so true! I remember driving around with my cousins. They are complete maniacs! Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on who you look at it I rarely use those skills! ^_^ So tell me have you acquired those driving skills yet? I'd still ride in your car but I'd definitely put on the seatbelt immediately! :P

Mandolin> <Computer assignment and Little Bunny Foo-Foo> Eep! How did it go? I'm guessing with your talents it was difficult but you managed to pull it off! ;)

SOROW> <email> Awesome! I'm happy to know you can send and receive email again! I'll keep the flow going! ^_^

Jannie> Good to have you back! So you have a killer class of kids? Glad to hear your daughter is okay at least. I say some prayers for you to hang in there and that it all calms down!

Green Baron> <driving> For the most part the only time I do drive in NYC is on the weekends. It is usually a good time for driving since there is a massive reduction in the number of vehicles on the road. To give you some interesting numbers I can drive from one end of Manhattan to the other in 30 minutes on the weekend normally. During the week it will take 30 minutes just to enter Manhattan from one of the other boroughs! **shudder** I've worked a few Saturdays down in the village and I come from the Bronx. From my house to the office is only 20 minutes by car on Saturday. It is easily over an hour Monday through Friday. This tends to be why the drivers are so brutal in their approach! :)

Okay that's all for now! Adios!

Politics, again: You see what a sticky wicket this subject is? No way to broach it without, at the very least, confusion over the various personal opinions.

Entity: If you really knew me, you'd probably have a good laugh at what a joke calling me liberal-minded really is. ;)

Green Baron: I like McCain too, but I'm thinking that he might not make another go at the White House in 2004. He'll be in his late sixties by then, which isn't necessarily a detrimental to becoming president, but his health is a question. It's not a good thing that his skin cancer keeps returning. Still, I like him, and I hope that he could campaign in the future.
I'm actually pulling for George Allen in the upcoming senatorial election. I thought he made a pretty damn good governor back in the day, and I'll most likely be voting for him. I can't bring myself to vote for Chuck Robb. This election is kind of funny to call, too, though; at times VA can be a real liberal state, but the last few years we've been pretty conservative. I think Allen has a good shot at winning.
Oh, and yes, Bab 5 is on 7 p.m. eastern. :)

Hillary vs. Lazio: And what a cage match it would be. Who's more masculine, Lazio or Hillary? I gotta say Hillary.
If I was a New Yorker, I'd probably vote for Lazio, because I absolutely LOATHE Hillary. More so than I could ever begin to dislike Bill. I mean, say what you will about Bill, ultimately he's a horny good ol' boy from Arkansas with a lot of charisma. Hillary, on the other hand, is just to repugnant for words. For all my ragging on Bill for screwing Monica, IMO he was actually moving UP the food chain. Maybe this is sexist of me, but I can't bring myself to like a woman who has no ankles.
If I could ask Hillary but one question, I would ask her exactly where I could buy a cheap, quality carpet bag.

Lazio....I don't have any strong negative feelings toward him because I just don't know him. Although I thought it was darkly humorous the way he practically assaulted Hillary on their first debate. That's the closest I've ever seen a piece of paper come to being a deadly weapon. I was expecting the Secret Service agents to draw their firearms and ask him to politely put it down. ;)

I was actually sad to see Rudy get out of the race. Because--and here's the real clue for all of you who think I might be liberal-minded--I think that Rudy Guiliani is the BEST thing to happen to New York in a looooooooooooooong time. Yes, you read that right. Some of you may be spitting in disgust. I love the man. A few years ago, New York City was a sh!thole, ESPECIALLY under Dinkins. But Rudy's actually made it a great place once again. I love visiting New York. Goddamn, I want him to run for the senate. Or for Governor. Or for President.
It's Guiliani time!!!

Jannie> Ech, I can see how you misinterpreted what I said. I really wasn't clear. What I was trying to say was that Bush's drinking problem couldn't have been trivial, because of the way he "found a new direction" afterwards.

I know Bush has openly admitted those days, but in my mind that simply makes him up to speed on the latest edition of "How Not to Make Clinton's Mistakes."

Incidentally, the "in your shoes" comment was self-jest. I meant that I couldn't imagine being in your shoes (i.e. defending my state), given that I'm in Ohio. Translation: I don't feel any particular state pride like you. That's all.

Lastly, apologies for the multitude of posts. I've tried to compensate by avoiding my Xanatos pic.

Green Baron> Well as a New Yorker I can honestly say that I do not like either Lazio or Hillary... the latter is not a New Yorker and has no business in my state. Lazio is a pompus bastard also. I'm really glad that Giuliani dropped out of the race though cause he's the worst of the three. I actually saw him out side of City Hall about a year back and barely resisted the urge to curse him out. I don't know who I'm voting for though.

*drags self in, exhausted* Coyote, may I borrow your chair for a moment? I need to sit down for a while.

Thanks to those who welcomed me last week and asked how I was doing *hugs*

I've gone back to work - this is my 2nd week back and I've entered the classroom from hell. We have 3 additional students and they are either severely retarded or very odd.
One student has Angelman syndrome - a rare syndrome of various disabilities including retardation. This student is aggressive and is constantly into things. It's like having a large sized toddler in the room. The other student is a 5 yr old downs syndrome child who needs his fanny spanked... very defient!! The 3rd is a high functioning autistic child.
Three out of five of the students are in diapers and they've all been dumping the mother load in them every day. It's the most disgusting thing I've had to do in my history of teaching the handicapped.
I've been hit, kicked, slimed, pinched, and have ran several times down the hallways chasing runaway students.
I've decided, for the first time in my career, that this one student has no business being in a public school setting. He's not capable of learning any type of skill and is a constant disruption and danger to the other students. But, I don't have a choice - he's there and will remain there. gaw, is it June yet???

Entity> where does it say in the Bible that you cannot be forgiven? You stated that it's not possible to be a "drunk" and then become a non-drinker when you find or renew your christianity. Bush has talked freely and openly of his drinking days - they were when he was a businessman and enjoyed the cocktail hour a bit too much.
How can you say that his behaviors would be more damaging than Clinton? Clinton's affairs have been dated back to before he was even governor of Arkansas - I've never heard of anything close to this about Bush. Are you aware of something that we Texans are not aware of from our governor?

Yes, Texas pride is strong... but we have something to be very proud of ;) I'm not sure how to interept your comment about not wishing to be in my shoes, so I won't say anything in response to that.... other than not everyone can be blessed and be born in Texas. ;)

A quick update concerning my daughter... she called last night and said that she was going to join the Army. I encouraged her to do so. Of course, I'll believe it when I see it, but one can always hope. Today is her birthday and it's with mixed emotions. I'm grateful that I do ocassionally hear from her, but when I do - it's to tell me of behaviors that are NOT appropriate or condoned. *sais* At least I know she's still alive though.

*drags self back out to finish up the evening's work before going to bed*

Green Baron> I'll be honest. I have given very little consideration to the local elections. To my defense, I'm eighteen, just registered over the summer, and the presidential election represents my first step into the (active, at least) waters of politics.

Heh, that was lame.

In any case, while I can't comment on *my* local stuff, I can on other people's: As far as Hillary Clinton vs. Rick Lazio, Lazio's a pretentious lil' shit. Hillary wins by default. My two cents. :)

P.S. I took that Spark test, and I'm a Dreamer. Apparently, that's the most common one. I feel jipped. I have to wonder how wide the margin is, though -- could someone else have answered differently for six or eight questions but still fallen into the same category because they qualify for other reasons? 16 personality types may just not be enough, especially since I bet half are rare, freak cases. The mainstreamy ones should be broken down more.

DPH> That is weird. I retook it as Thomas M Logan Forsyth and I came out as a businessman. I am also 86% compatible with myself and only 80% compatible with my cat. Both Businessman and Mastermind are fitting personality types for me. My Businessman side is 81% compatible with Xena Trek ::kisses XenaTrek passionately::, but I am less compatible with others.

GXB> Well, I knwo youhate Bush and Gore. How do you feel about the Senate race between Rick Lazio and Hillary Clinton, who I think has been endorsed by the New York Communist Party :)

Todd> Did you get my e-mail about the test. I think a lot of us wonder what you'd get on the personality test :)

Well, this has been quite a month so far. As some of you know around the beginning of August, I got a job at Shop Rite in the Seafood department. It payed well, but then school started and for the first couple weeks i was failing since due to my job I didn't have the time for homework. Well, I quit on Monday, because I had a feeling that if I didn't get out then, I'd never get out, and I want to go to a decent college and get a good job, not work at Shop Rite forever. Also, my family went to Rio for 10 days and returned yesterday, while I had the house completly to myself. If it wasn't done on such short notice, I'd have thrown a mini-Gathering in my house. Oh well, next time maybe ;)

SJ> I already know about "Babylon 5" starting on the Sci-Fi channel. I don't get Sci-Fi, but I still have all the episodes on tape. And if B5 does well there, Sci-Fi may pick up and continue "Crusade". So everyone here has to watch "Babylon 5". If you don't I'm going to come to your house and duct tape you to a chair and FORCE you to watch it!! BWA HA HA!!!! Seriously, please watch it, and all newbies stick with it/ It starts off slow but gets better.

Politics> I personally hate both Bush and Gore and am not planning to vote for either them. In the other comment room, people were talking about Dominique Destine running for president, the Star Wars fandom is having Darth Vader wun for President, and the Transformer fans are having Galvatron run for President. If only these candidates were real, then we'd have a fun election ;)

Kit> Well, I'm glad that jerk will be out of your way. Hope his girlfriend doesn't do anything too rash. But hey, you can take her ;) If anyone pulled that crap on me, I'd scare them off with my latest ebay acquisition (click my name to see it), and here's the URL anyway

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=438287205

ALso, I'm glad to see "Giants In the Earth" got the positive reviews it has. I was originally going to write it, but couldn't due to school. Todd did a better job with it than I would have so my hat's off to him.

Later all...

**PERSONALITY TEST**
Wow. I did a complete turn from accountant to dreamer, this time after retaking the test by listing dph_of_rules@programmer.net as my email address. I am only 77% compatible with myself when I used dph_of_rules@yahoo.com. Heck, I might take the test again with each of my email addresses to figure out what the heck I really am.

Hmm. Maybe the mood I am determines which type personality I am. That is scary.

Ok, when I use my yahoo email address, I am 98% compatible with Daniel Johnson when he uses his mac email address.

To everyone, I am curious about having a different personality when you use a different email address. Is it just the 2 Daniel's who have this problem or does everyone?

RP WARNING!!
**St. Petersburg, Russia

Benny Hinn is now preaching to everyone mesmerizing the crowd with his hypnotic powers, as a crime wave strikes the city. Bernadette shoots a warning shot at Benny Hinn.

"Ack!! Who dares disrupt my sermon? I must be running low on funds. God is firing at me. I need more money..."
"Give it up, Hinn. Your schemes are at an end, you bible thumping heretic. My name is Bernadette and you shall face the wrath of the Catholic schoolgirl scouts."

"You French strumpet. I don't fear a little girl with her rosary, just because she looks pretty in her miniskirt and has such nice cleavage. You are a temptress too. But I know you only bestow your charms upon that Green Baron. Well, no longer. My people shall take care of you and your cadre...yeooww!!"
"That's just a small sample of my power. I would prefer to have you and your so-called missionaries slowly tortured when we play Inquisition, but I'll fry you right now if I have to."

Two mesmerized Russians grab a hold of Bernadette, while another mob take the other four girls by surprise.

"Good. We finally have the Catholic schoolgirl scouts. Now, we all we need is the Green Baron, and no one can foil our plans."

From a Russian Orthodox Church, a priest looks on with concern as he scratches his beard thinking.**
TO BE CONTINUED!!

Winterwolf> that's worse than the situation in New Orleans, however I wonder why bother driving in New York City?

SOROW> ::hugs:: It will get better. It always does.

Dreamie, Corax, SJ, Emambu, and Firestorm> Tim-may!! Tim-may!!

Yes, that was my joke :) Firestorm is the only one who caught on by IP. The only other one who could catch that would be the JEBster. I am impressed, Firestorm. I figured it would be good for a laugh :)

Todd> You sometimes bring up mention of Judeo-Christianity in the original CR in the same vein that you mentioned it here. It seems to be a theme of yours. BTW, are you a clone of Jesus :)

Entity> Somehow I suspected you would vote for Al Whore, since I think you've mentioned you tend to be more on the liberal side. Out of the two mediocre candidate, I'd vote for Bush, since ideologically, I agree with him more. Bush will lay the groundwork for privatizing social security, as well, and he isn't afraid to tell the media, especially liberal rags like the NY Times, where they can stick it. Sure, I would like John McCain, or John Kasich, but I'll settle for a lackluster candidate who has a proven record a Governor of Texas, and basically did like Clinton in not screwing up a good thing.

Bush has another advantage. He's bipartisan. Bush has been endorsed by many Democrats in Texas and Louisiana. How many Republicans in Tennessee, Arkansas, or Mississippi have endorsed Gore?

Second, I believe the Democrats will retake Congress and a Republican minority with conservative and moderate Democrats will work better with Bush than Gore, plus it would create a balance of power like we had in the early 80s and during the last six years of prosperity.

As for Supreme Court candidates, Bush will probably appoint a bunch of Souders, Kennedys, and O'Connors which will lead to a right-leaning centrist court, except Stevens and Rehnquist will retire soon, so it will be a little more conservative than now. Gore won't bring back a tragedy like the Warren Court, but he will have more like Ginsberg and Breyer, who are rather uninteresting, but will make the Court a little more Liberal than now.

Now, the other reason I support Bush. Al Gore. Al Gore will do anything to get elected, and that means anything!! He is just as unprincipled as Clinton, may cause more damage, as Gore is not as self-serving as Clinton. During the Gulf War vote, he determined how he would vote based on which side offered him the most airtime. Gore also makes expensive promises that will cost us our surplus and not effectively lay the New Deal and Great Society to a proper burial. Also, al Gore is in bed with the Labor Unions who are power abusers and need to be disbanded. They served a purpose early last century, but they will only cause trouble in the century ahead. Finally, he is known for sleazy campaign tactics. He invented the Willie Horton controversy during the 88 Democratic primary to attack Dukakis and that helped Bush the Elder win (it didn't hurt that Michael Dukakis is an ACLU member).

Dick Cheney is okay, but I would have preferred better. Lieberman is also good, but he has betrayed his good positions like vouchers and privatizing social security when he became Gore's running mate.

If either Gore or Bush we will be in the same boat. I also hear a recession is on the way. If that is so, maybe I'd like Gore to win so he and the next Speaker, "Slick Dick" Gephardt will take full blame and 2004 will be all wrapped up for John McCain :)

Firestorm> I guess, but being related to Wallis Simpson was something my grandfather saw as an embarrassment.

DPH> If you think Democrats will retake the House, vote for Bush to keep a balance of power.

Niamhgold> I was hoping to catch you at the chat. Attila also did some disco dancing and stripping :)

Nadia> I think Gside and I both have an idea what you are talking about, though we may be wrong. I myself do not think it would be a good idea if you let him pressure you for sex. I don't think that's the right reason to have sex. It would also be wrong of him to pressure you like that. Talk to him about it and let him know where you stand. He seems nice enough to stop the pressure. Some things I believe are best saved for marriage anyway, and that should be a long time away, like after you get a Degree :)

SJ> I agree with you about that air headed jerk, Baldwin. $In the RP, I had my Irish Catholic schoolgirl scout hurl some big rocks at him until he was a bloody pulp, just because of what Baldwin said about Hnery Hyde.$ Baldwin is also involved with the ultra-Liberal People for the American Way which staunchly defended the sex-Offender in Chief.

Is Babylon 5 going to be on 7pm EST? That will make it 6pm my time. Then I can watch it in its entirety :) As for Batman, I loved that show. I don't understand why they pick the Sci-Fi channel, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth :)

Speaking of Politics, what do you think of George Allen as your next Senator?

Christine> Well, in the Sav A Center in New Orleans, the America's Choice milk is the same be it skim or low fat. I prefer skim, myself and if skim is cheaper elsewhere, then yay for me :)

Fire Storm> If you think Loyola's windows are cool. We are built around Holy Name of Jesus Church, which is very pretty and still has its Communion rail. Granted, the beauty and art in New Orleans would take anyone's breath away, especially a suburbanite's :)

Dame Corax> Somehow I thought you'd support Bush/Cheney. I think Fred Thomspon or Liddy Dole would be better running mates, but Cheney does have the experience that Bush is accused of lacking. The only downside to two oilmen in charge of the nation is that it won't be too good for public transportation, which I heavily support, but Gore is whining about people being able to make car payments so he won't be much help to me there, either.

Caliope> I guess you need to check that test more often :) Well, if I get stationed in Puerto Rico, I'll look for you :)

Entity (again)> Actually, Al Gore has doen more to position himself for politics. He joined teh ARMY in Vietnam, because veterans have better election bids and to help keep his father in the Senate. Aside form speaking at Bob Jones University, George W Bush hasn't done anything too bad (as opposed to Al Gore's embrace of Sharpton or having environmental views similar to the Unabomber's). When it comes to religion, Gore and Clinton flaunted their views more than Bush has recently. Sure, he mentions he is religious in the primary, but he doesn't talk about it as much, now. Geroge W Bush was an alchoholic (and it is avery common problem in this day) and he quit drinking thanks to a new religious path he chose. Bush is not soem off-the-wall faith eitehr, but a Methodist, an older more respectable faith rooted in Anglicansim. Perhaps he's more animatd than most Methdoists, but he's not in one of these religions that's under a century old where the Congregation drops to the ground like a roach sprayed with raid when the preacher looks at them funny.

Since some people have mentioned their family's views, I feel I shoudl take the liberty. My family is moderately conservative. Fiscally more conservative and socially more liberal (comapred to most Southern conservatives that is). My mother is a regsitered Independent who had a childhood crush on William F. Buckley. She usually voted Republican in the Presidential races, but more because she likes the Democratic candidate less. My father is a moderate Republican and his aprenst were among the earliest registered Republcians in New Orleans (as in back in the 1940s when the GOP didn't really exist in the deep south). My father is not concerned about issues liek abortion or homosexuality (especially since I have soem cousins who are gay and also politcially conservative), but he is consevative on issues like gun control, capital gains tax, welfare, and taxes in general.

I do have a question for you, Entity. While you've made clear your support for Gore, what do you think of Mike DeWine? I'm more curious about how interested you are in the other elections in your state. Louisiana has a blas'e election cycle.

Just a few words before I go wash my filthy car

I went to my cousins house yesterday because I have to help them move this Saturday. Anyhow, I sit dow to take a break after overstuffing a box and start to do some drawing. My eight year old cousin (the youngest of the three) looks over my shoulder to see what I'm doing. I was inking a pic I'm going to turn into MGC when he asks, "If Gargoyles live at night how come they can see color." I stared at him blankly for a few minutes before saying I don't know.
The scary thing is he's probably right, most nocturnal creatures are color blind.

Just thought I'd say that.

SJ> Thanks for responding. Don't take offense, but your views seem to be more liberal than conservative to me. The formers seem to outweigh the latters. *shrug*

On Bush vs. Clinton, the oddest thing is, Bush strikes me as more of a "Clinton" than Clinton. He seems like just the kind of guy who'd screw an intern. That probably just ticked off some people, like Jannie. Sorry.

But as far as his "drunkenness," I was speaking loosely (which is why I said "drunkenness" rather than "a drunk") but I wasn't as far off as you make it out, Jannie. Bush admits to a period of his life of heavy drinking, during which he neglected his family, and after which he was more or less born again a Christian. You don't "just do a lot of drinking" and refind God.

That Texas pride thing always gets a smile out of me. I don't mean that sarcastically or anything. Just that I couldn't imagine being in your shoes, speaking for Ohio. You Texans. ;)

Warpmind faced the Inner Sanctum of the Realmsfarer Armory. He was forbidden to take the full kit within prior to the Final Battle, but that was not his only option. Looking around in the dusty room, he started opening coffers, wiping off shelves and looking for anything that might give mankind an edge against the remainder if The Ten. Eventually, he had come up with a few swords, axes and other close combat weapons. The oddest item, though, was a sword that clearly was skillfully crafted, albeit by mortal hands. Wiping off the thick layer of dust from the business end, he could make out the letters "GRI_W_LD" just beneath the hilt. Gathering the few weapons in a small briefcase, he headed out, preparing to meet up with SJ, Sammael and the others in their party. Halting for a moment to pick up a small, divinely enchanted coin, he entered the portal back to the mortal realm.

argh, correction: Bush was a businessman before becoming the Governor, not the president.. hehehe, sorry!

P.S. Clinton had very little to do with the economy. Almost all of his bills were vetoed in congress. It has been the Republican congress that has passed the laws, not Clinton.

Entity> while I had told myself that I wouldn't get into any political debates, your statement has made me change my mind... you said, "Bush is in politics because he had nothing else better to do with his life. He's only been Governor (or holder of any office) eight years, and at the time of his election, he knew nothing of how to perform his job. He went through a seven year period of drunkenness and neglect, after which he 'found God.' "

I don't know where you have gotten your information, but it is incorrect. G. Bush, Jr. was never a drunk. He went thru a period of time that he did a lot of drinking, but would not have been considered a "drunk". Also, he was a businessman before becoming president. He is or was, part owner of a baseball team in addition to his businesses.
You have jabbed Bush and said he hasn't done anything before becoming the gov. of Texas... ummm.. Clinton has never held a job outside of politics to speak of, has never even owned his own home (has lived off of others and taxpayers, etc.) What experience did he have to be President?
How can George Bush be an embarassment?? Compared to whom? Clinton? Gore? I haven't heard of any charges brought against Bush that have been lodged against Clinton and Gore.

I don't know where you live, but I live in Texas and have been extremely pleased with Gov. Bush's record of performance. He had a hell of a mess to clean up after Ann Richards did her destruction here.
Gore is attacking Texas with a vengence now... that's because he knows Texas is a lost state to him as far as votes go. Even the democrats here are angry with Gore for his bad-mouthing and insulting comments about our state.

sorry, I don't mean to sound harsh... I've returned to work and I've entered the classroom from hell.

Robby and Taleweaver> Thanks for the comments on Tenchi in Tokyo. Yuki mentioned today (or was it yesterday?) that once the bonds of trust holding Family Musaki together had completely dissolved, she would be free to take over the Earth.

So apparently it's world domination she's after. Tsk, tsk, tsk. I had anticipated something far more . . . *personal* than that. I figured maybe the Musaki family holdings held some ancient artifact/power which she wanted; or, I thought perhaps someone in the family had done her a great wrong generations ago, and so she was working intently on their destructions for revenge. I also considered that she might be working at dissolving the family so that she could separate Susami from them and convert her (and her pet) to the Dark Side -- this based on the fact that Yuki and Susami are friends.

At any rate, I had sure hoped it would be something more subtle and interesting than plain old world domination. I mean, HO HUM!

Having said that, I do find the villains in the show interesting. I like their ambivalence; Hotsuma (sp?) keeps making moves on Ryoko, despite the fact that he is her enemy. Yuki's friendship with Susami is another fascinating angle. I find their whole approach to the problem interesting. It is sinister, deliciously so, in a way that plain old brute force could never be.

I will continue watching the show, despite the fact that I find Yuki's objective so dull and ordinary. Her approach is enthralling, even if her quarry is mundane. One wonders what she could do if unleased on the Gargoyles universe . . .

***BEGIN RP***
It was a week before the aliens were to arrive, and the future was uncertain. Earth's fighting forces knew that they faced perhaps their most difficult battle ever, so each, in their own way, prepared for the upcoming fight. Kitty made Jim and Black Tiger get their drivers licenses (which is a separate story, one which this author hopes another will certainly write, given the joy he experienced watching Piccolo and Goku do the same ;), and Kari decided to go out on a date with SJ. Unbeknownst to him, she was about to drop her secret.
Oh, and did I mention? The demons, bored with their waiting for the carnage to come from space, decided to tag along. Most, specifically Belzelk, did this because demons are naturally curious--i.e. nosy--creatures. Angol Moa, however, did it because he liked the restaurant.

SJ seated Kari himself, than slipped into his own chair. He was dressed in a suit, and had combed back his usually spiky hair. He gave her a warm smile. "Wow. When you said you wanted to go out for dinner, I didn't expect you to pick a posh joint like this!"
She smiled back at him. She was looking very beautiful in a navy blue dress. "I just wanted for us to actually go out on a real date for once. Something nice. Usually when we try to spend some time together, we face some sort of life-or-death crisis."
"Don't I know it," SJ agreed. "I'd like a nice quiet evening for once."
Kari's smile faltered. "There's something else, though....I have something I want to tell you tonight."
He looked puzzled. "Sure. What is it?"
She nervously wringed her napkin. "Oh....it can wait. Right now I'd just like to eat something. I'm starving!"
It was at this particular moment a very loud voice cried out. "Now listen hear, I did *not* order the lobster! I ordered the filet mignon! Now, manservant, do take this back and see that you get it right!"
It was the cultured, yet arrogant voice of Angol Moa. The massive, reptilian demon was arguing with a very anxious waiter who had apparently mixed up his order. All 6 demons had followed the couple into the restaurant, and decided to take a table exactly behind them (although they were obscured by a rather large plant, and thus neither SJ or Kari knew they were there). Most of the demons had ordered only appetiziers, preferring to spy on the couple instead of eat, but Moa, the "cultured" member of the group, had insisted on ordering a full course meal.
Belzelk snorted at him. "Why did you do that?"
"What?" Moa asked.
"Send the food back. You know that whatever you order now, they're just gonna spit on it."
Moa seemed to ponder this a bit, then shrugged.
Belzelk glared at him. "Moron. And did you have to wear that tuxedo?"
***END RP FOR NOW****

Politics: I'm sorry if I sounded hostile towards you. It's just that I'm insecure. I'm always a bit wary when someone who opposes my political views asks me to explain mine. To me, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's like "I disagree with all your political beliefs, but I want to hear all about yours." And to me, when I hear that, I'm expecting that the unsaid addition to that statement is "So I can then ridicule those beliefs". Yes, I'm that cynical. (But trust me--if you grew up in the family I have, where *everything* you believe in is questioned, you'd be a little trigger happy too). You probably weren't aiming for that, but that's my fault that I feel that way.

In all fairness, if you want to know my political beliefs, here's the 411:
I pretty much am a Republican (which must prove, at least on some level, that I like playing the villain). Most of that is probably from my parents, both of whom are super ultra conservative. If there really was a right-wing conspiracy, they'd probably be a part of it. Me, I'm probably a little more on the moderate side. For instance, I'm for homosexuality and affirmative action (even though, IMO, it doesn't work very well). However, I do have some strong conservative beliefs. For example, I'm pro-life (but that really stems more from my religious beliefs).
My thoughts on Bush and Gore: I said both can bite my ass, and I still stand by that statement. I really don't like either of them. Neither of them really, truly give a filk about any of us. I truly believe that. Both of them have sold their souls long time ago to get where they are. Being a Republican, you think I LIKE supporting Bush? I don't. But I like him.....no, I take that back--I'm marginally less disgusted by him than I am with Gore. My own personal, which doesn't necessarily mean correct, view on Gore: He's NOT honest (I base this largely on his failure to explain the whole campaign finance debacle, or his inability to accurately explain why he voted so conservatively during his senator days--he was, for quite a while, vehemently pro-life--and then, when Bubba came calling, he became Johnny Democrat), he's gone through more personality changes than Sybil since this campaign began (this week he's Al the Working Man's Friend, next week he's Al the Man Who Will Clean Up Hollywood....my personal favorite is the comedic Al the Stud, from his convention kiss), and what really pisses me off, most of his campaign up until a couple weeks ago is "Gee, we've had a great 8 years, don't you want 4 more?". This annoys me, because if you were to attribute any success from the 8 years to a single person, it should be the president. Gore didn't cause an economic boon. Fortunately for him, he's switched gears recently. I could go on, but frankly, that would be tedious.
Now don't take this as a slam against Clinton.....well, okay it is, but don't think of it as piling on Clinton....but you made a reference to Bush being an embarassment to the presidency. How much worse could he be than Clinton? Now that's a matter of personal opinion, really. But honestly, what will be the Clinton legacy? He really hasn't done anything of *extreme* importance, unless perhaps you count the good economy (but even under the best of presidents, that's always an x-factor). In the history books he may go down as a popular president, but he'll also be remembered as the president who got impeached for screwing an intern and then lying about it (not that I can blame him. I wouldn't be bragging to my friends about Monica either). The scandals will always plague him. Bush may like the bottle, but I don't really think he'll get impeached for diddling an intern. The idiot president vs. the horndog president, maybe.

I suppose it doesn't really matter, because I'm honestly convinced Gore will win, though he won't get my vote. Gee, that'd be unique, wouldn't it? A political election with a disappointing ending. Although, let's be honest--it'll be disappointing no matter who wins.

Boy, that was a can of worms, huh? On with the show...gather up all Juggalos and go......

"Al, I haven't seen a tackle like that since Theseus slew the Cretan Minotaur!": This I find just utterly hilarious. The folks over at the Encyclopedia Britannica website, Britannica.com, have decided every Tuesday to list explanations for all of Dennis "Mr. Obscurity" Miller's jokes from Monday Night Football. Finally! All references to ancient, deceased Egyptian hieroglyphics artists will now be explained!
My question to Dennis--If it's a joke, but NOBODY gets it (outside of someone with a PhD), is it still funny?

Tenchi in Tokyo: I agree that the animation isn't up to snuff with this incarnation of the show. And the villains are terribly weak (I mean, the main villain looks like a 10 year old girl. A far cry from the evil Kagato). But the part I like about the show is the soap opera. I love seeing Ryoko go out on a date with Tenchi, then getting her heart broken cause he's playing tonsil hockey with Sakuya (that bitch!). It is the inferior of the shows, though. Personally, I think that overall the Tenchi Universe was the best of the series, but I like all of the characterization and the backgrounds from the OVA series. For instance, in the OVA, there's a great episode with Washu where she remembers her husband and child. It's a tender moment. Great characterization. I'm a little annoyed that they always press the reset button every time they redo the show....

It's an Action Figure, damnit, not a Doll!!!: For all of you die-hard Reboot fans--they'll be making a whole bunch of Reboot toys! The Irwin Toy company has decided to make and market several Reboot action figures, both in the standard 5 1/2 inch and a very manly 9 inch format. Characters include Bob, Dot, MegaByte, and a whole slew of other characters that I can't name because I don't watch the show.

Warpmind > I'd love to see my books get overseas, but I doubt it's feasible ... by the time we factored in shipping, and what we'd have to sell the store the books for so they could still turn a profit, it would probably mean a loss on our part. We're not really in a position to do that just now. But we have got a line on some distributors, and will be at least investigating some possibilities.

Off to work an hour early tonight ... see ya!

Warpmind> <<Niamhgold:... so, *grin* How you doin'?>>: Isn't that usually my line?
<<does it strike you as unnecessary cruelty to let me know *that* there is, and neglect to tell me where?>>: Very much so. But I wondered about the CR rating, and also you own web researching skills. I'll send some links after I post.
<<Don't want Robby to throw the book at us, right?>>: Depends. If it's one of thoes mini-books you see near the check out counters of bookstores, I can take it. But I dread that he could get his hands on some illuminated manuscripts.

Calíope> <<I, being the daughter of 2 scientists run as fast and as far away fron the study as I posibly can!>>: So? Both my parents are biologists, and I'm still a techie. Granted, I don't do dissections, but it's still in the same column of the periodic table. And I do have my brother to balance it out. Now, if I may ask, why did you start out in the sciences instead of going straight for art?

Mandolin> <<it doesn't help that the script had to be rewritten three times to fix the ending>>: You could always have changed it to the completely demented version.

Danile Johnson> <<Maybe I just have multiple personalities. Or I'm a really good liar>>: Or maybe one of your personalities is a really good liar.
<<If I'm using the mac.com address I guess I'm in an Accountant mood>>: That seems conterintuitive.

After Billy the Kid, I feel it is time for another the. I just happened that I'd promised Warpmind something after Quinn the Eskimo. But I happen to have four versions (Dylan, Hollies, and two Manfred Mann). Which one, though? One of the Manfreds is a long live version, the Hollies use horns and a banjo, Dylan wrote it, and the other Manfred is the famous version with flauts. Dylan couldn't sing to save his live, so he's out. I don't think I like the live Manfred's middle instrumental section, even though it is more than twice as long as any of the others (and it does kill my quota by itself). I think I'll go for the studio Manfred since they did the main version of it.

Personality test:
How odd. I first took the test last night, without a name, just to see what would happen and got Mastermind. Today I took it and put in my mac.com address and got Accountant. ? I thought I had given the same answers, so I took it again; I got Mastermind again. ?? I tried once more to make sure I didn't do something wrong and again got Mastermind, so I'm guessing that I must have clicked the wrong button somewhere that one time. Unfortunately, it seems that once you take the test with a given address, you can't change your result, so I took it AGAIN with my bellatlantic.net address. Oh, and I got Mastermind again. Maybe I just have multiple personalities. Or I'm a really good liar. :)

So, If I'm using the mac.com address I guess I'm in an Accountant mood, and I'm feeling like a Mastermind when I'm using this address. >:)

**PERSONALITY TEST**
DPH confesses to being . . . an accountant on the personality test. Interestingly enough, I am about 60% compatible with Winterwolf and Daphne (2 other BFTS RPers).

Interstingly, I am 100% compatible with David Shanske and 96% compatible with Green Baron. Daniel Johnson, have you took this test yet? I would like to see how we match up against each other.
**END PERSONALITY TEST**

1+1=3 3+3=7 3=7+7 1=3+3

That's all for now. I gotta finish editing the BFTS RP archive.

**sticks her head in**

God, it's been a hell of a week. Fortunately, the computer probs were the worst of it - but that only added to the complications caused by going home. My Computer Algorithms prof didn't bother to post the homework until half an hour after I'd left on Thursday - so I didn't even get a chance to see it til Sunday. It's due tonight. Also, now that I just got the video card replaced (thanks to that three-year extended warranty I bought for my Dell), the printer cartridge ran out of ink. I just walked six blocks to Staples, got back, and realized I'd bought cartridges for the wrong version. Sigh. And there's also the talent show for tomorrow night; Hood Theatre is doing "Little Bunny Foo-Foo (the slightly demented version)" and yours truly is organizing it. I want to kill half the cast. We have yet to find a practice time when ALL of us can be there at once. I stood outside Brodbeck for half an hour last night waiting for people to show - and they forgot. We still don't have our lines down. Of course, it doesn't help that the script had to be rewritten three times to fix the ending.

Bush vs. Gore> I'm leaning towards Gore too, mainly because of the issues (and the fact that I was raised by Democrats).

Classes> Thanks to my summer job, I don't have to do work-study during the semester... unfortunately, the space that work-study takes up is soon filled by other crap like the above.

Anyway, I've got to go. If you'd like to see a version of what the script looked like (a friend adapted it for her comic characters), click my name for "Foo-Foo Fighters."

SJ> Well, I'm not really "requiring" that you qualify your political views. I'm curious. If we all keep to our views, don't discuss those views, and that's that -- well, that's rather limiting.

In any case, I'm leaning towards Gore right now. Yeah he's a fake, but even in spite of that asinine kiss and his model-of-orthodoxy running mate, I think he's more honest than your usual politician. Or maybe just Clinton. Whom, incidentally, I liked as a President -- which pissed me off even more when he continually demonstrated lack of balls.

Anyone watch that ABC (I think) documentary on Gore and Bush? That's been the most instrumental influence for me. Also, I've never seen the interview where he claims he
created the internet (so can't judge it, cuz of lack of context and all that) but I appreciated it when he made fun of it on Letterman.

Basically, here's how I tally it up:

Bush is in politics because he had nothing else better to do with his life. He's only been Governor (or holder of any office) eight years, and at the time of his election, he knew nothing of how to perform his job. He went through a seven year period of drunkenness and neglect, after which he 'found God.'

I'm approaching the election with a "what's the best way to hold out till next time" mindset. Gore is at least competent. Bush, IMO, would be an embarrasment to America ten years down the line. Kids will read about him in their history books. The idiot President. And besides, the Republicans getting in would be like them winning their whole anti-Clinton crusade. It's just the principle of the thing.

Crap, can't think of anything on another topic to say... sorry this was so self-focused. Hopefully you found it of trifle amusement.

Hey guys! *waves*

Green Baron> <<Spark Test>> LOL Really? I took that so long ago and havent checked in again since! I'll have to look into that!

Winterwolf> <<test>> lol I'll look into that! <<Classes>> Well, I realy do think that I'm fortunate enough that my parents are relativly well off economicaly to allow me to study like I want to. We're not exactly rich or anything, but its not absolutly nesesary for me to be looking into a permanent job as of now. If that be the case, I could proabably graduate in 3 years if I push myself a bit. <<Rules for Driving in New York City>> LOL you know, those sadly aply to Puerto Rico too, ecept your missing the one about if you meet an friend comming in the other direction, stop in the middle of the road and talk for as long as you can. Make sure to compleatly block trafic in both directions and for as long as posible :P

Gside> <<sciences>> Alas, it is easy to exlapin! I, being the daughter of 2 scientists run as fast and as far away fron the study as I posibly can! :P All in all, I'd rather be happy then rich and I love art so much more than science, tho I do find it fasinating as well :P

Emambu> lol De nada! I'm actualy backwards, I can speek both english and spanish comlpeatly accentless, but I can spell in either :P And dont worry about those accents, they get away from us all :P Just keep practicing tho, you sound like your doing fine! :)

Well, I'll get going now! I'll see ya guys! * ^_~ *

*the mirror in the corner of the room starts glowing and suddenly Guandalug steps out of the glow*

Kitainia> *nods* As I said, it's okay.... and regarding fans of every kind - if they are in a huge group, they tend to be a problem (parking space, traffic jam, etc) - no matter what nationality they are. And I can imagine that the German fans were a HUGE group..... :)

The City of Stone-Parts are a fav. of mine as well.... especially in the original english version. Don't like the dubbing though - but the worst dubbing I ever heard in Gargs is in 'The Mirror' - dammit, the german translation of Puck's spells aren't even _close_ to what he 'really' said. *calms down* No, I don't wanna discuss that again.... *sighs*

Winterwolf> *laughs* Thanx... but they didn't walk fast when Duncan and I were there.... quite the contrary :) I thought I realised the following rules:

a) If a traffic light for pedestrians is green, cars crossing are less likely
b) If it is red, go ahead but beware of the cars
c) If somebody in in a hurry or walking fast, evade him at all cost (maybe even step back into the hose you just left)

At least that's what happened on our last evening in NYC 1998. We were near the 'center', and leaving the Subway-Station we spotted 'Midtown Comics', a comic-shop. Well, we went in and looked for ..... exactly, for Gargoyles. Not finding any (not that expected them to be in plain sight) we asked the shopkeeper. He looked at us, thought for a moment and then went straight to the box with the letter 'A'. Strange - never would've expected 'Gargoyles' there, but oh well - he found 2 pieces of the same issue - one for Duncan, one for me. Well - both were sold for the original price of $1.50. Just - this $1.50 were normally accounted for our ride back with the subway..... Money was already counted, for we didn't want to take too much back home. Okay, so it was either buying the comics or driving the subway. Guess what - we bought the comics and decided to walk back.
I've to add - we were both clad in black - wearing the 1998 Gathering T-Shirt and a black jeans. Add our length (we're both about a head bigger than the 'normal' New Yorker) and you've got quite a sight when we walked uptown, following the Broadway. Well - we never had any problems..... we've had nearly all traffic lights show green (speak about timing your pace :) and nobody dared to stop us or stand in our way - not even the policewoman who stepped out of a house - she spotted us, turned 180 Degree and vanished back behind the door *lol*

And as I promised, here's the link to my Gathering 200 Picture gallery. Please excuse the mess - it's not quite done yet, but all the pictures are linked in and ought to work.

*turns and walks out the room, smiling puckishly*

*Warpmind enters, staring at the results of his Personality test.*
Me, a Mentor? Hmmm... fun. :)

Mary Flanders: You wanna... *sheepish grin.* :D

Fire Storm: That's right! So let's drink to keeping Rapture at bay, right, lads? :)

Niamhgold: I already did - scary and yet intriguing: turns out the two of us are the most compatible - both are Mentors, and compatibility reaches an amazing 81%... so, *grin* How you doin'? ;)

Nadia: *Pats back* If there was anything comforting I knew I could say, I would...

Christine: Want to know about? Maybe... I do have a simple suggestion for selling the Magelore books in Norway, at least... a small chain of bookstores specializing in RPG materials, imported movies (particularly sci-fi), et cetera... the fun part is, the chain is called Avalon. (There's no END to the King Arthur jokes made in their stores - I'd make Gargoyles jokes, but they'd fall short since the show is virtually unheard of here.)

Robby: I *know* what La Blue Girl is, I just haven't seen any of it. :) But believe you me, the utter inability to acquire any such material in this country (and I don't necessarily mean that strong stuff, either, but H-rated as a whole (including the w) is unavailable) truly annoys me. The only chance I've seen has been ordering VHS tapes - original - from US merchants. And with the video compatibility between Europe and USA, well... *sigh* :( Oh, and by the way... since there is an official rating for this CR, I suggest we drop the whole debate right away, hm?

Gside: Oh, right... now does it strike you as unnecessary cruelty to let me know *that* there is, and neglect to tell me where? ;) E-mail me 'bout it, 'kay? Don't want Robby to throw the book at us, right? ;)

Jaden: I read the description of one particular model of battlesuit... "There are only a dozen of these built, stationed in various places of the world. It may sound like too few, but believe me, just watching three in action at once can make any enemy general s*** his pants." I want one of those. ]:)

Winterwolf: Don't worry. I'm not likely to pursue vengeance, except if it is unusually cost-effective. And the glue is officially retired. :) By the way, the Personality test said we're 65% compatible. I kinda doubt it - I'd rather not associate with politicians. ;)

Well, gotta go. Ciao.

Hi! Sorry the rest of that RP was private! ;)

Dreamie> **tackle hugs** Thanks for saving me! ^_^

******SPOILERS - PENDRAGON******

This was another good story by the TGS crew! The characterization between Mary and Emrys (Merlin) was great. The villains seemed somewhat anticlimactic including the giants themselves. Overall though a fine story which I happily and eagerly read through!

******END SPOILERS - PENDRAGON******

Personality test> From http://www.thespark.com/ my top three for compatibility in order - Dreamie, Niamhgold, Caliope! I'm still waiting for a few other results to come in! ^_^

Emambu> Major congratulations on making the second choir! Also I'm happy to hear you're back in top form! :) <Spanish> You studied for 6 years but feel you don't speak or listen to spoken Spanish very well? I understand that feeling. It is something I'd like to change about myself. It is nice that you can read and write it effectively. Still with the good pronunciation you have regular practice will really strengthen your ability to easily speak the language. BTW - I primarily wanted to translate what you said so I wrote this up. ^_^ <chili> I wouldn't mind having some chili! My spicy tolerance isn't that high so I better taste it first. Mmm, I'm sure it's good! As for applying it to the glue I'm sure it would have dissolved but I think it would have also burned off several layers of skin! :D

Guandalug> <pedestrians> The basic rules there are travel in packs. This way the cars can't run everyone down! And anytime you can cross the street jaywalking is an underrated skill! :) Now you know why New Yorkers walk so fast! ;D

Mecord> That was a really evil week! Unfortunately these things happen and there isn't much if anything we can do about it. At least it has gotten better and you've been able to share your troubles which I find really helps lessen the pain!

Warpmind> Note to self never play a joke on Warpmind unless you want to be hit with a humorous response that is 10x worse! :P

It will feel so much emptier here with Shadowrider's absence.

Fire Storm> Sorry no info on that company! :(

Niamhgold> **sheds a few tears of joy** Welcome back Niamhgold! :) **makes a delicate bouquet of ice roses and gives them to you** I'm delighted to see you here! Sounds like you are so busy you didn't have time for anything else! Well since I know you like being a busy beaver I hope you really enjoyed yourself! Great to hear how everything worked out with your keys too! ^_^ <tests> I've taken them before and I took them again today. I wrote down the results so tell me which ones you want to hear about and I'll post them or tell you! **Big Cuddly Wolf Hugs** :D

Nadia> <relationship> This is just my opinion but you shouldn't have to do anything you feel really strongly against. Be honest with yourself and be honest with him too. It is certainly a very difficult and even hurtful on some levels but I feel it is for the best. I hope it all works out well.

Good night! See you again next time!

Still haven't read the Pengragon. Hopefully soon.

Emambu> <<I like to think I have a little bit of that Gargoyle regeneraion in me>>: How deeply do you sleep?
<<You're comp-sci teachers are Chinese? My professor's Indian>>: Well, this semester I have all white boys (one russian (I think) though). I've had to master the "socall Chingrish" to understand the inimitable George Weng, and both my physics profs were Indian. It's the TAs who really get you though. And how do you get the nickname Erick from Xiang Yang Hu? There does seem to be an even distribution of Asian and Indian TAs. And if you look at the research groups, they are pretty segregated.

Mecord> May you have all thie time you need, and some left over. Soon.

Warompind> <<La Blue Girl is on downloadable format?>>: Yup. Anime (Lady Blue esispode 1). And also a couple issues of the LBG Manga.
<<I am not precisely familiar with the plot>>: What I've been able to gather is that there are two rival ninja clans, one of which has an aliance with sex demons contigent on possession of a magic item.

Fire Storm> <<But they are so light and curvy>>: Vile artist. I like my beige and my boxiness (yough you can still put another layer over the beige). Anyone else think it would be interesting to make a golden ratio chess set? (golden ratio= (1+sqrt(5))/2 important number, recurs in spirals, shells, and stars)
<<Among others. The Phoenix Gate is currently gone>>: Just checking. Wasn't sure if it was something you could easily fix.
<<Hey gear-heads and tech-heads>>: Sorry, never heard of them.

Niamhgold> <<I *Could not find my keys*!>>: I tend not to have that problem. Mine are attached to me (well, to a lanyard-type object that is tied around a belt loop on my pants).
<<in this new society of ours, would, say, the breaking of a mirror or a black cat be regarded as a highly religious rite>>: Nah, it'd be the same as always. We're just out re reveal the fundamental significance of thirteen and its powers (that might actually be considered a pun. I'm going for the mathematical definition here).
<<You came out to be an accountant?>>: Yup. I see nothing wrong with it. Submissive? Check. Introverted? Double check. Concrete? Oh yeah. Thinker? You try to get me to be touchy feely (even excluding the fact that I'm male).

Nadia> <<it seems quite obvious that he wants to go>>: Assuming I have any idea what you're implying, um, yeah. What's the statistic? Every seven seconds (which seems rather high)? I say be strong (oops, there I go). Perhaps this is just me being (again) bitter about being denied. Maybe not being denied, but (yup) definately having no chances with the women. If I'm (once more) not getting any, why should he? Then again (and again once more), I do come from a moderately strong Catholic background, so that might influence my answer.
Oh, and check out my recent conversation with Warpmind for any other evidence.
And may your workload be diminished to a more manageable level.

Robby> <<That's only because DC doesn't own livestock>>: Can we ever be completely sure? How do we know he doesn't have a sheep hiding in a closet?
<<The CR was like a chatroom>>: I think I saw that one when I was researching the archives.
<<said schedual has kept me from wiping on Saturday the last two weeks>>: Are you sure you want to admit that. You probably could pull it off having everyone think you are a genius.
<<Why are hotdogs sold in packages of 8 and hotdog buns sold in packages of 10?>>: Because some people cut their hot dogs in half. especially with Shikhaus. Mmm, Shikhaus.
<<everyone considers Tenchi in Tokyo inferior to all the other Tenchi series>>The animators went completely insane.
<<The tentacles are um...>>: Hey, Wilek, I think you're letting the security on your tentacles lapse.

Kitainia> <<then detonating thanks to the heat (harmlessly since nothing is nearby)>>: And rather small, since the heat probably would mess up the mechanics enough not to have a good implosion.
<<a joint gathering of the Ku Klux Klan and Illinois Nazis>>: I hate Illinois Nazis.

Just a quick thought:

"I invented the internet, and I can take it back."
(Gore on the Letterman show...sure, he said it as a joke, but I still thought it was a great quote.)

I'm really into the whole politics thing this year. I think it's interesting to follow who's running, and how they get people to vote for 'em. Personally, Gore's too fake for me. I mean, he changes his freakin' accent wherever he goes to speak (a nice tactic, but he butchers half the local accents!), plus he's trying so hard not to be himself that it's just not cool. Like the quote from above, when he was trying to tell a joke...he just doesn't naturally joke, you know? And the kiss...God, was that out of character. Either way I look at him, he's just not true to himself or anything else.

Bush isn't much better personality-wise, but he at least seems to have that presidential 'air' that we haven't seen in a while. Plus his wife totally rules. She would be such a great First Lady. And he's from Texas, and I've heard he's done some nice things for schools in Texas. That's pretty cool. Plus his running mate, Dick Cheney, is a friend of the Rock...(which is how the Rock initially got invited to the Convention...he was Cheney's personal guest)

Oh, goodness...I just got into a rant on politics...somebody please stop me!

Ah! The perfect thing to distract me...the ORIGINAL Batman is coming back to TV!?!? REALLY??? Oh, wow!!! I loved that show!!! Batgirl ruled. I always wanted to be Batgirl when I was younger. And the villains are just great!

Okay, now I really have to go...I think my lack of sleep is showing... :) Party on, everyone!

P.S. Robby, I totally understand about college being so much more time-consuming! I've found that out as well. :)

**BIT OF AN RP HERE**

"Who is it?" Erin's brother Hassan says into the intercom of their family's apartment as the screen comes on. "Sarita?" "No, it's Ali's Pizzeria," one of what looks like a pair of pizza deliverymen replies. "We have your pizza here." Hassan frowns and looks at Mary. "Mom, did we order any pizza?" "No," Mary grimaces, then shrugs. "But let's take it anyway. I don't feel like cooking tonight." "Alright," Hassan nods, then buzzes the "pizza guys" in. In the doorway below, Jazeem smiles at his flesh golem assistant, glad the illusion he cast worked like a charm. Waving it to follow him, the evil sorcerer heads inside. "Who was that at the door?" Fasil is asking Mary above as he steps out of the bathroom. "Pizza delivery that came to us by mistake," she replies. "I said we'd take it because I don't feel like cooking." Fasil nods. "No anchovies, right? I hate anchovies." "So does our entire family," Mary chuckles. "I forgot to ask what kind of pizza, guess I'll do it when they get up here." "Alright," Fasil nods. "Where are the kids?" "Patty's reading the Arabic version of that new Harry Potter book in her room, and Hassan just went back to watching TV after answering the buzzer. He's still waiting for his girlfriend to show up for their date tonight." "Spaniards," Fasil chuckles. "Always fashionably late." He checks his watch and smiles. "Come on, let's go get that pizza. We can eat it while we watch the Olympics. I'm cheering for our athletes tonight." "They'll have to be pretty good to beat Ireland's," Mary laughs in reply, causing Fasil to hold up a finger and shake it as he grins. Mary grins back and they walk off together towards the living room. Behind them, an invisible Lloky follows as silently as she can.

The display switches to somewhere deep within the mines beneath the Underground City, where a large metal cylinder marked with radiation symbols sits among several veins of brightly gleaming gems. In a cloud of black smoke, Gubio, Erin, Mist, Terrell, Annabelle, and Dao appear beside it. "There's the bomb," the genie says with an undercurrent of anger. "I have fulfilled your first wish by bringing you to it." "What about disarming it?" Gubio asks. "That will require a second wish," snaps Dao. "Don't worry," Erin tells Gubio with a brief smile as Annabelle helps her stand on her feet. "You get unlimited wishes as long as you hold the lamp. That three wishes bit was just a literary device used by the storytellers. Real genies are subject to one's control as long as one holds their lamp." "Is that so?" Gubio grins. "I'm going to enjoy this." The others are also smiling. "Go on, genie," says Terrell. "Get rid of that bomb, and make sure it doesn't hurt anyone." "As you wish," Dao growls, then waves his hand. The nuclear bomb vanishes in a puff of black smoke. Dao gestures again and an image of the bomb reappearing in the middle of the Elemental Plane of Fire and then detonating thanks to the heat (harmlessly since nothing is nearby) is shown to the group. "Satisfied?" the genie grunts. "Good job," Gubio gives him a thumbs-up. "Now for my next wish…" "Let's make him end world hunger," Annabelle suggests. "Or how about finally getting the Israelis and Palestinians to agree on a peace plan?" Erin counters. Mist meows something about catnip, and Terrell merely shrugs. Gubio seems to consider all these ideas while holding the lamp in front of his chest and Dao waits impatiently. "Those are all great ideas," Gubio says finally. "However…" He is cut off by a stream of laser fire that shatters several gemstones in the walls and causes the party to gasp and scatter for cover. Gubio is too slow to find his, and a few random shots hit the lamp he holds as well as graze his torso and arms. "No!" Dao screams as the lamp bursts apart under the strain of being hit by the shots. "My revenge!!!!" In a puff of black smoke and a burst of loud noise, he vanishes. "There go our wishing plans, I guess," Terrell says as he and Gubio lie prone beside each other on the ground. The Ravens' hacker nods glumly. At the entrance to the cavern, Kovu is angrily cussing out one of his thugs and slapping him upside the head as the screen goes blank.

**END FIRST BIT OF THIS POST'S RP**

Hi everyone. Good to be in here again, especially after the day I've had. First there were the usual boring classes in the morning, then at work in the afternoon I was stuck appraising used CDs (which we buy) and had to encounter a succession of people who brought in scratched-up products and wouldn't take no for an answer easily when we told them we couldn't buy what they had to sell. <grimaces> The real clincher, though, was not the people trying to sell CDs to us (they were all made to understand our policy one way or another, eventually), but the woman who walked up to me between appraisals and got me really mad. Y'all remember that loser Gus, right? The one who's going to prison now because of the things he did to harass me? Guess what? He has a girlfriend. Today she walked up to me at the Tower Used CD appraisal counter and literally ended up cussing me out. First she flat out asked me if I was Lisa Telman, and when I said yes, if I was the same Lisa Telman who got her boyfriend fired and put in prison. I said yes to that too and she totally went off-kelter screaming at me about it. I tried to tell her why such things had happened, that Gus deserved what he had gotten, but she kept ranting and wouldn't even let me get a word through. The worst part is, she mentioned all the things Gus did to harass me and all the things he was gonna do and said I should have just taken them, that I deserved them for causing her boyfriend to lose the only job he could get (never mind that it was one given to him out of pity), and it was "just Gus's way to do the things he did. He never would have hurt anyone." I tried to tell this pitiful excuse for a lady that that was just not the case, and I had evidence to back myself up, but she wouldn't even listen. She said that what I did to the man she loved would put me in Hell, and she looked forward to sending me there herself. Then our in-store security guard ejected her from the building, probably just in time. <shakes head> Sheesh, some people. To think Gus has a girlfriend even dumber than and just as nutty as he is. At least I got him in jail before they could breed. I hope I don't have to deal with a harassment campaign from her now. If I do, I'm not even waiting for the police to say they'll help me, I'm taking her down myself. <growls> Your prayers will be appreciated, to say the least. <sighs> I am so glad this day is over.

Before I forget, thanks to all who gave congratulations on the cops getting Gus and putting him away. I too am relieved and glad beyond belief about it, and I too wish he could spend more time in the slammer, but such as things are…<sigh> I also am worried that when he gets out he will come back into my life and cause more trouble, but I am praying he won't. In any case, that won't be for at least a few years. :) Maybe not at all too. They're sending him to Travis County Correctional Facility and from what I've heard that's a pretty tough place. Doug's pal Charles at work, who used to work there, confirms most of the rumors. He says that the prison lost an average of twelve inmates a year to beating deaths while he was employed as a guard at it. I hate to say this, but because of what he did to me, I've sometimes found myself hoping that Gus will become a statistic as well. :( On to replies.

Guandalug: Like Shadowrider said, I was just responding to a post of his that mentioned German racing fans causing traffic accidents. I meant no disrespect to you or to the group as the whole, just those bad individuals. Sorry if any was incurred. Also, welcome to the CR and hope you will enjoy it. Glad we share the same favorite Gargoyles ep (Mirror is mine too, along with Turf and the City of Stone parts. :).

Welcome also to Nadia, Dreamie, and all the other newcomers who have joined us since my last post. Hope you will frequent and enjoy this place.

Favorite Disney Villains: I have many favorites, but Xanatos, Demona, Shan Yu, Scar, Maleficent, Castaway, Zira, Don Carnage, and Ratigan rank highest for character and sheer menace. Some others, such as the Beagle Boys, Flintheart Glomgold, Colonel Spigot, and Nega-Duck have also been good for laughs.

Buffy: **SPOILER WARNINGS** From what I've heard, Dracula will only be around for one episode. <sighs> Oh well. At least that ep should be entertaining in and of itself. I look forward to watching it next Tuesday. Also looking forward to Angel, in which we'll see Gunn as a regular cast member this season. :) Also, in the first ep Angel mistakenly kills a good demon. This should make for an intriguing situation. Hehehehh. I'll be sure to give reviews next week. **SPOILERS END**

GXB: For the crimes Gus and his pal were guilty of, they can put one away for about 5-50 years maximum in Texas. Gus and Sternie (his accomplice) got 3-15 instead due to their plea bargain and only being found guilty of the crimes they actually committed (the conspiracy charges were dropped, unfortunately. <sigh>). They may also have to do some community service when they get out, and they'll definitely be on probation. May their date of release be very far away.

Mandi: <laughs> Yeah, I too hope they never meet. But it would be quite a scene if they did. I wonder who has the higher level of archery skill. Glad the stalker who was after your friends has backed off, hope it stays that way. We'll keep them in our prayers just in case. :)

Niamhgold: <Twenty more guys waiting to replace the rapist> Unfortunately, you're probably right. <sighs> Hope the cops get all of them too, though I doubt it will happen. :( Oh well. Glad that you weren't sick for too long thanks to your roommate's cold. Congrats also on getting your keys back so quickly, that was a very nice bit of luck. :)

Censorship: I'm more inclined to agree with Entity in this debate than SJ (though I do agree with him about the hypocrisy of Clinton and Gore). While I don't like censorship one bit, we should criticize and do our best to get rid of the bad forms of media that are made with just sex and violence in mind. They waste many people's time and money. It's the forms of media that have sex and violence in them but also have a real good story, characters, writing, intelligence, and so on- stuff like Mononoke, Buffy, Gargoyles, Angel, and so on- that should not be censored, and it's the attempts to censor them anyway just because of the sex and violence in there that get me mad. I hope that they will survive this latest rash of negative bashing, I'm keeping it in my prayers. Hope all of you are too. <sighs> It will be a very good day (and a cold day in the warm parts of Hell) when all the censor-obsessed idiots of the world realize things don't have to conform to their views and lighten up. It'll be even better when we stop scapegoating.

Eminem: Having almost been run-down on the highway by guys playing his music too loudly numerous times, I can't say I like this guy much at all. Having to hear him on the PA at work and hearing all the awful stuff he says about women, homosexuals, and free-thinkers makes it worse. In fact, it makes me want to hunt down and kill him just like comic Bill Hicks wanted to hunt down and kill Billy Ray Cyrus and Michael Bolton back when he was alive. Let's face it, the guy is an egotistical no-good piece of doodoo and that's an understatement. I wouldn't listen to his music because of that even if it wasn't all a cacophonous mass of angrily uttered swear words and loud epithets that no one in their right mind should like IMO. I completely agree with Entity about him and his songs, their popularity is completely undeserved. I mean no disrespect or offense to any fans of the guy in here, this is just what I think of Eminem. And why I'm going to have Asil take him out shortly in the RP. :)

Shadowrider: Shauna hasn't run into any more trouble for what she did with the bow yet, thanks for your concern. Also thanks for your support and encouragement throughout this whole affair, they were really appreciated (same to everyone who gave theirs). Hopefully the problems are now over. Sorry we missed your send-off party, Doug and I were confused about the time of it. :( I'll miss you while you're away doing your military service; hope you will enjoy the experience, learn much from it, and get back soon. And that your ladylove will wait for you, absence making the heart grow fonder. :)

Robby: College does get like that, unfortunately. Good luck being able to deal with it. <grins> Good points about the various top banned books, I agree with them. The people who censored those novels just weren't thinking rationally. <sighs> I also share your worries about so-called "concerned parents." IMO, lazy idiot parents is more like it. If I could give the parents of the world one bit of advice, it'd be raise your kids so they can one day be self-sufficient in every way. Doug and I were both raised by our folks with that in mind, and though we both had problems with it at times we've both ended up thanking our parents greatly for it. We've also ended up a lot better-off, intelligent, and mature than many other people out there, or so it seems. Being shown the real world and told about it at an early age, as well as being disciplined for and finding out the hard way the consequences of our mistakes, are definitely some of the reasons. The things Jenna's said about children would be next on the list. :)

Christine: The next Guardians tale will involve Cobalt's backstory? Great! I'm looking forward to it. I'm also continuing to enjoy Dark of the Elvenwood, especially now that I can read it exclusively without Doug or Stephanie demanding to borrow it. Have currently reached the end of the first part, and will send comments as soon as I finish the rest. Thanks for the great entertainment. :)

Jaden: Welcome back once again, good to see you in here even if it's only for a little while. Glad that your Army Basic Training went well. It's good that you survived the negative aspects of humanity, one hates to have to endure them but when Nietzche said what doesn't kill us makes us stronger he was right. :) Good luck in Korea, I hear it can be a rough place. Don't worry about the specialty you've been assigned too much, shooting down things that fly isn't that difficult these days what with all the cool targeting equipment we have. And there are many more dangerous things to be doing on a battlefield. (You could ask my grandfather if he was still alive, he was a minesweeper in World War 2.)

Emmabu: Glad to hear that your wound is healing nicely, congratulations again on the good results of the situation that got you it. Glad that the bad results are easing in their caused frustration. May your luck not turn bad for a long time to come. :) Congrats on getting into the choir too. And thanks for your encouragement about Gus, the good side of me also hopes he gets the treatment he needs while he is where he is. <sighs>

Mary: Glad your sister's out of the house, I agree completely that she needs to get a life. <shakes head> Hope that many good times are ahead for you and Bahemut, and not for her. :)

SOROW: We miss you too, hope you can soon come back on a regular basis. Congrats on the talent show, football game, and 2 year CR anniversary. May many more years be ahead.

**SPOILERS FOR PENDRAGON**
The latest episode, Giants in the Earth, had its ups and downs. Among the ups were the excellent illustration, the developments between Merlin and Mary (good to see their relationship taking a turn for the better), and Mary's reactions to Arthur's being labeled the Connection, which were written realistically and well. Seeing Lucius, Char, and Eddie back again was nice too, I liked the character development they were given. Lucius made a good antagonist for Merlin also, I wonder if Grimalkin is still in his life. The ep also had a nice plot and pretty good dialogue all throughout. The downsides, though, were that it seemed too linear at times and a lot of the things that happened in it seemed more cliched than interesting. The giants for example would have been more interesting if they weren't the stereotypical big dumb caveman types IMO. Also, why did Arthur and Merlin let them go on sleeping at the end? Arthur was perfectly ready to kill their leader, and he is definitely the type to not let a threat like the giants remain in the world. <sighs> But I guess he had to retain the mark of a true hero. Overall I give the episode 7/10, thumbs up on most things. Looking forward to seeing the Caledonian Clan again next week, hope Jennifer Camford's reappearance is likewise not far away.
**END SPOILERS**

Mecord: <shakes head> Wow, that's a lot of problems to deal with in such a short time. Hope they ease up soon, you were definitely within your rights to rant about them. I'll be keeping you in my prayers, thanks for doing the same for me and Doug.

Dame Corax: Congrats on passing your first college exam, good luck with those next week. Doug and I have our first round of the semester coming up real soon too. :( Hope that classes don't cut into your sleep time too much.

Speaking of which, it is now time for me to get some sleep. :) So I will be. See you all again next time, hopefully I will have better news to report then. May those of us who have hassles in our lives have them soon ease up, and may good things follow. Later!

**RESUME RP- LONG BIT OF RAVENS' SAGA**

"So you're in Des Moines now and should be here tomorrow?" Shauna is saying into a telephone in her motel room in Minneapolis. "That's great, Kit. Shap and I are waiting for you. Right, we'll meet in the Mall of America food court just like we planned. We'll be outside the Cozzoli's stand. Get here quick as you can, okay?" "We'll try," Kit replies from the other end. "We've already run into some trouble with a fleet of jets Thailog sent after us, but we shot them down. As long as there aren't any more problems, we should be in town to meet you tomorrow night." "We'll be waiting," Shauna smiles. "How's Doug holding up?" "He's still suffering a little from his memory problems, but I think it's gotten to the stage where he's stopped dwelling on them all the time. Which is good. As soon as Gubio and Erin get back from Turkey, we shouldn't have to worry about the problems anymore." "I hope they do get back," Shauna grimaces. "I heard on the news the other night that some terrorists shot up the airport in the city they were going to. That's worrisome." "I'm sure they can handle whatever situation they get into," Kit chuckles. "This is Gubio and Erin we're talking about after all." "Right," Shauna laughs along. "See you tomorrow, girl." She hangs up the phone and then glances over at Shap, who is staring worriedly out the window. "What?" "That motel across the street," the paladin answers. "The room with a window facing ours is reeking of more evil than a joint gathering of the Ku Klux Klan and Illinois Nazis." "Think we oughta check it out?" Shauna asks, reaching for her bow. Shap waves her off. "Probably more than we can handle alone. Let's wait till the others get here, then maybe we can all go after it together. Safer that way." "Alright," Shauna shrugs, silently resolving to at least scout it out that night when Shap's asleep, just in case.

The display changes to the Time-Warner Building in Atlanta, where Ted Turner is relaxing in his private bathroom's Jacuzzi, sipping a dry martini and listening to Michael Bolton. The door to the room opens and Geoffrey Fieger walks in looking worried, which causes Ted to frown. "Geoff, I told you never to disturb me while I'm in here," Turner snaps. "Don't you know I'm celebrating killing OJ, an enemy we thought invincible?" "It's very good that he's dead, sir," Fieger replies with a brief grin that quickly changes into a sigh. "However, uh, we have a big problem." "What?" Turner raises his eyebrows. "And why is it important enough to disturb my bath?" "Asil has escaped, sir," Fieger replies. Turner's jaw falls open and his eyes widen. "You…you were supposed to keep her confined!" "I tried, sir!" Fieger protests. "Then the computers went down and somebody opened the cell door, so…" His words are cut off by a scream of pain as Turner launches a bolt of lightning from his finger and hits Fieger in the right eye. "OW!" "One more eye out and you go back to hell," Turner snarls as Fieger throws up a hand to stop the sudden bleeding. "Don't fail me again, Geoffrey." "Yes sir," Fieger whines. "Um, maybe I can get Asil back in custody. She just roared out of the garage. If I send some guards…" "See that you try," Turner snaps, shaking his head in frustration at his lieutenant's incompetence. Meanwhile, on the street outside the building, the Brain is using his human suit to drive a flashy black limosuine with license plate Turner 1. Pinky is on the front seat squealing in delight at their speed and Asil is leaning out the back window to shoot her BFG at several Time-Warner security vehicles chasing them. "We'll be at the hotel where Admiral Nipon is waiting soon," Brain tells her as she takes out the lead car with a volley of fire. "Ten-four!" Asil shouts back, obliterating another vehicle and causing the rest to turn around and speed off out of fear. Kitainia's evil clone laughs as they flee and then suddenly smiles as they pass a large stadium with a billboard advertising an Eminem concert. "Pull in there!" she orders Brain. "Um, why?" the mouse frowns. "We don't need to…" "Just do it!" Asil shouts. Brain shrugs and pulls into the stadium's parking lot. Asil hops out of the limo and rushes in as Pinky and the Brain stare after her. Inside the stadium, thousands of screaming fans and groupies are cheering as Eminem performs music, surrounded by over a hundred lookalike bodyguards. Just as he comes to the high point of "My Name Is…" a smoke grenade falls onto the stage and makes everyone start coughing and gasping. As the smoke clears, a volley of BFG fire blasts throughout the bodyguards' ranks and many fall over dead. Asil smiles as she is revealed with smoking weapon in hand, causing everyone who remains alive in the stadium to gasp in surprise and shock. She ignores the fans and turns to the remaining Eminem lookalikes with a grin showing a high depth of madness. "Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?"

Well, college is turning out to be more time consuming than I originally thought. Its not any more difficult or useful or instructive than I originally thought, just more time consuming. And all the time I'm putting into TGS is eating up my time as well. (But the stories and piccies I'm doing will be worth it I think... *grin*) Oh well.

Censorship- The thing of it is, I don't mind so much when "Let's kick some ass" to "Let's kick some tail!", but when they change it to... ANd this is an real censor I'm about to refer to... When they change it to "Let's kick some toe!", I just get upset. Ya see, there's a device that reads closed captioning in advanced, picks out "offensive words", briefly mutes the channel, and show a close captioned line with the offending word changed. (Which strikes me as stupid since you'll be fully aware EVERY time the thing is being censored... And anyone remotely astute would quickly pick up on what the replaced words stood for. Oii... But I find it REALLY wierd that the Christian Coalition finds the word "tail" as an offensive word that is not a proper substitute for ass. Cause basically they bought the device, added in twenty words to the ones that were already there, and changed some of the others. I didn't know we even had twenty offensive words in the language, let alone twenty added onto what was already on a list. Oh well... Just imagine the confusion that arrises when someone starts referring to a donkey as a "toe". Eeesh...

Gside- That's only because DC doesn't own livestock, and it would be cruel to harm animals for some of his doings.

Fire Storm- SLowest top ten race in CR history... Hardly. That record goes to the one time it took about 14 hours. Most of the room was on vacation and it was wiped early Tuesday morning when everyone else was at work or school. (It was around one of those week long holidays not everyone has...) On the other hand, the FASTEST race for top ten was back when Dumlao was still wiping the room, and he did it at abour midnight almost to the minute every week, before releasing the new ep of whatever series was going. One week, cause he was watching an award show (Emmys or grammys or something...) The room wipe was an hour late. The CR was like a chatroom. We had something like 130 short and conversational posts in an hour, and the top 18 spots were all claimed in under a minute, with half a dozen people thinking they were first.
(ANyone else here remember that night?)

Gside- Varying wiping times to keep you on your feet? That and my schedual were the main reason I switched to Saturday wipes, but same said schedual has kept me from wiping on Saturday the last two weeks. *Shrugs*

Olympics- I've never watched the Olympics. This year is no different. They're BORING contests of physical skill that *NO ONE* will remember unless they're the kind of person who pays a lot of attention to such things. (Can anyone in here, WITHOUT looking it up, tell me five names of people who won the gold in the Olympics we had just TWO years ago?) In fact, I have the same basic idea about most sporting events. I mean, unless your hometown was involved, who remembers who won the Superbowl 10 years back? NBA finals? (Again, people who obsess over this sort of thing or make it their hobby don't count...)

Spacebabie- I don't think Una does all that much running or climbing anyway, so it's probably a moot point to ask... But if I remember correctly, she did have hands, so she could probably climb if she needed and couldn't run on all 4's if she wanted to.

WIn Ben Stein's Money- Has anyone else here been watching the new season with the new co-host? I swear, that woman is just like a female version of Jimmy! Her jokes and delivery are *exactly* like Jimmy's, to the degree it's frightening! It's easy to see how she got the job tho...

Shadowrider- May be too late, but fare the well!

DPH- Here's another riddle... Why are hotdogs sold in packages of 8 and hotdog buns sold in packages of 10? *I* know the answer...

To those who don't know, its a marketing scam. Marketing people believe that *EVERY* hot dog you eat will be eaten with a bun. (Not actually the cas,e but it's what marketing believes.) So, you buy a pack of hotdogs and a pack of buns. Eat all 8 hotdogs and 8 buns, but then you have 2 buns left! And most people wont think to make a meatball sub out of that remaining bread, but will instead go out to buy more hotdogs! And due to the packaging, they'll have to buy more bread, so on and so forth. To balance it out perfectly, you need to buy 5 packages of hotdogs and 4 packages of buns! Sneaky huh? Not really a brilliant scheme, but a scheme nonetheless...

Selanit- The basic answer to your question is this. It's Tenchi in Tokyo. It doesn't matter.

No, seriously. Basically everyone considers Tenchi in Tokyo inferior to all the other Tenchi series, and most consider it to be complete and utter garbage. BEcause of this, there are no websites dedicated to Tenchi in Tokyo, and I haven't done any research cause I'm not all that eager to find out about it. I'm barely watching "In Tokyo".

If you want a real answer, its this. Sailor Moon was doing huge in Japanese ratings when Tenchi in Tokyo was created. So they stole the basic formula. Multiple minor villains who keep popping up to attack out heroes for no apparent reason until the very end of the story arc when everything is then explained. Unfortunatley, they ripped off the Sailor Moon formula BADLY, and the end result isn't that great. Like I said, *I* don't know the reason cause I don't care enough to look for it.

However, I *AM* looking forward to Magical Girl Pretty Sammy if Cartoon Network ever picks it up, because its a Sailor Moon parody done well, as its a total hoot. Especially since Ayeka is the villain. 8)

CrzyDemona- Wish I could buy some of those cells, but... It'll be a miracle if I get to the Gathering without spending anything all year as is! (And I'll likely only be able to make A-kon...)

Warpmind- La Blue Girl... Is... Er, well... Um... Its the kind of anime one can not purchase unless they are 18 or older... The tentacles are um... Well, just think dirty and you have the plot right there.

Reason to vote for Bush- To be quite honest, I don't want to vote for Bush. But what it comes down to is, it's a lose/lose situation with all the canidates (including independants!) this year, and he's the canidate I dislike the least. I may yet switch to voting for an Independant, but I will *NOT* vote for Gore. His basic policy is "Those who make money must give it up to those who do not". That kiss he gave his wife... If it was staged, it was in bad taste. If it was really spontaneous, he clearly can't keep his head on straight during a moment when he should be proffessional. Either way, he didn't kiss her very well. Watch the footage and you'll see that he actually BIT his wife. Gore's stance on medical benefits, tho they don't really affect me, seem rather odd. He's been in the whitehouse 8 years already and hasn't impressed me any. He's lied a bit more blatantly than politians usually do, (he invented the internet don't cha know.) Also, his running mate is totally pro-censorship, which is a definate negative. There's several other reasons too, but I won't go into them right now. Like I said, I'm not voting Buch because he's the ideal choice, he's got almost as many problems, but just because he's not the worst choice.

Mary- Ranma fanfics.... Ooooh. Wish I had free time. I'll try and read them this weekend, but this week is the monthly SAAS meeting...

Aaron- That reminds me... SAAS meeting Sunday.

Southpark- I stopped watching this show about half way through their second season cause well, it got bad. I recently started watching again. Its kinda sad really, but once you get past the cursing and violence, SOuth Park is the most HONEST show on television. They don't hold back and ANY subject, however controversial or sacred is fair game for them, and their commentary on whatever they're making commentary about usually rings true. And the writing has gone back up in quality again...

Nadia- Like Coyote said, to thine own self be true. The guy you're dating may be nice, but if he wants you to do something you don't want to do and isn't willing to let up on the topic after you've already asked him to, you may have to accept the fact he might be acting nice JUST to get you to do whatever it is he wants you to do.

And no, its not a normal guy thing to forget something after 9 hours. After twenty minutes sounds closer to about right. I'm joking. I think. But the advice remains, if after being told multiple times you don't want to do something he keeps on asking you to do it, there's a problem and you may have to reconsider the relationship.

SJ- Batman AND Babylon 5? I may have to start watching the Sci-FI channel again...

And that looks to be about it for now, sooo...

**RP... SORTA... HERE!**

Several weeks have passed since SJ's RP a couple of posts ago. The Administrator was able to confirm that the remaining members of the ten were on the way, and that they would be arriving about a week from when this post takes place. Kari has still kept her secret from everyone, Kitty has stayed with the group, and Jim has managed to convince Black Tiger to join in the upcoming battle. Things are quiet for the moment, and no ammount of training in the week left is going to make much difference.

So at the moment there are a couple of little things going on... Kari is spending some quality time with SJ before the world ends, and unbeknownst to them, all the Demons to be involved in the upcoming battle have tagged along. (The details of which I'll leave to SJ, since he's doing such interesting stuff with Kari...) Jim on the other hand is spending time with his sister and his son (Black Tiger), when Kitty brings something up.
"Bro..?"
"Yes?"
"Do you know how to drive?"
"Uhm... No?"
Kitty frowns and looks at Black Tiger. "Do you?"
"I have never had a need for learning to drive. I've spent my entire life training for the battle with the ten." The sone of Jim and the wererat Ratina notes.
"Well then," Kitty grins," You two are going to have to learn to drive."
"Why?"
"Because it makes for a good and hilarious filler episode, as Dragonball Z proved the other day."
Jim stared at his sister. "Except the RP isn't an anime based on a manga as its released. We don't need filler episodes to kill time while waiting for the writer/artist to get ahead of us, since this is made up as we go. We don't need to do filler, just what whatever sounds like fun."
"Oh, well then... I suppose instead we'll just have to..."

**END RP! AND POST!**

Warpmind > trading veins? Do I even wanna know? ; )

Book stuff > thanks for the support ... as for self-publishing Black Roses, we may resort to that but I want to really give it the good try beforehand because I feel this could be my breakout book. It's one of the best things I've written.

Milk costs > heh, maybe it's because the fat they skim out of the skim can then be sold seperately as half-n-half or cream, or used in other stuff ... so by leaving it in the milk, they're not getting the extra money they might otherwise be able to. ::shrug:: Dunno, really!

Olympics > thanks to our dish, we get both east and west coast networks, so I have the Olympics running on two different channel ... yet any time I actually take a look, I've got no events. I've got documentaries and retrospectives about past glories and touching tales of the athletes' personal lives. Aside from catching one snippet of a bike race and one snippet of tiny washed-up-by-age-16 gymnasts, there's no goshdarn events on! So, hey, I'm watching re-runs of Survivor! Go Rich! Have decided to write in Rich for President. Rich and Rudy 2000!

Nadia: Quite the complicated situation you've wound up in ... and I don't think it's something you really wanted, if I'm reading this right (don't be surprised if I'm not).
For starters ... please, feel free to rant. It's not like anyone will judge you here if you do. Besides, a good rant now and then is good for your heart and your blood pressure, after a while if you bottle it up you explode like a shaken bottle of pop.
Now ... if there's anything I can comment on with your situation, I'd just say there's a very old, very useful, very *true* phrase that comes to mind ... "To thine own self be true." If he's trying to pressure you into something *you* don't want to do, then don't do it. You are the master of your own destiny, no one else. If it's something you don't want, then *tell* him you don't.
At the very least, take some time to consider your situation and that which he's wanting you to go into. Weigh the positives against the negatives. And if, at the end of your consideration, the negatives outweigh the positives, then don't do it. I mean, you really don't want to do anything like what I suspect is going on without making sure it's a winning situation on all sides, not just one.
**sigh** But what do I know? Lookit my track record and ya see I've been run over more buses than I've outrun.

**BEGIN RP***
Kitty cautiously placed a hand on Kari's shoulder. To her relief, Kari did not jerk away. Rather, with her own hand she reached up to pat her sister's limb. "I'm okay, Kitty. I'm not dying or anything. I....just can't use my powers."
"But how can this be?"
"I don't know. If it was some sort of problem that had an easy answer, I wouldn't be in this fix. But I am, at the absolute worst time. The world may be about to end, and I can't do a thing to stop it."
"That's not true."
"Maybe, but I won't exactly be fighting any battles with the remaining aliens."
Kitty looked at Kari's friends, clustered together in conversation. "Have you told anyone else yet?"
Kari looked grave. "God no. I...I mean, this is a rather recent development. But I couldn't tell them. Not yet."
"You'll have to eventually."
"I know, but....but we were all concerned about stopping the aliens, and finding SJ--thank God he's back--I couldn't exactly mention it in polite conversation. 'Gee, I sure hope we kill those planet-destroying aliens and did I mention I'm suddenly powerless?'"
Kitty was staring at Sevarius Jr., a slight smile on her lips. "You really like that boy, don't you?"
Kari stopped and looked at her sister in the eye. "Yes," she said softly. "I really do."

"Okay, so we've been introduced to the team," SJ said. "Now what do we do?"
"We wait, I suppose," Sammael said.
"I hate waiting," Belzelk grumbled.
"Well, we're gonna have to wait until the aliens show up," Sammael said.
"Wait till we all die," Dyspare moaned sadly.
"Don't talk like that," SJ said. "I just got back from the dead. My little return to the land of the living is NOT going to be a round trip back to hell." He turned to the Administrator, who was standing calmly nearby, studying (or so it would seem) the rather unique physiology of the demon soldiers. "Ms. Administrator?" he called to her.
She fixed her glare at him. "Yes?"
"Can you tell us whether or not any of the other aliens are coming?"
She nodded. "I will try."
****END RP FOR NOW***

Football: WHOO HOO!!! Boy am I glad. My St. Louis Rams won another one this past weekend! They are now 3 and 0, and damn, they're gonna go all the way again this year. Kurt Warner is a god among men.
What's that you say? Me, a Redskins fan? I think not.

The Redskins are now dead to me. I wash my hands of them, at least for the rest of the season. I'm sick of this, I really am. You know what I feel like? Like the women on Cops, who, after their husbands beat the shyt out of them, they always scream at the cops "Don't take heem ahway! I luv heem!" They never press charges. Well guess what? I'm pressing charges. I'm sick of these losers. With the talent they have, they COULD go all the way, but as it is? We won't make it to the playoffs. Mark my words--this is probably a 4 and 12 season. But you know what? Doesn't matter. I'm through with them.
I'm tired of it all. After 8 years, I'd like a goddamn successful football team. You understand we won the Superbowl with Joe Gibbs, than totally imploded the next year with Richard Pettibon.....but that's not the worst. The worst is NORV TURNER. For 7 years Washington has suffered with this little pock-marked bastard, and it's time to send his no-talent ass packing. If "The Little Napoleon" Dan Snyder, that new prick of an owner, does one thing this season, I hope it's fire Norv's ass at the end of the year.
But I'm not going to fool with those losers anymore. I've attached myself to a WINNING team, the Rams! Call me fairweather if you want--after 8 years of embarassing and depressing lows, I'm switching my allegiances.

Olympics: America has spoken. The Olympics are here....and we'd rather watch Regis.
So far, ratings for the Olympics have sucked. And why shouldn't they? We live in a different world than we did 4 years ago. We have better TV shows to entertain us this time around. We have cable, we have HBO, we have "Survivor"....we have Regis, damnit! Who wants to watch little Chinese girls do gymnastics when I could be watching Big Gay Richard walk away with a cool million?
Besides....(and all non-Americans, here's where I show my *tongue-in-cheek* nationalistic beliefs) After all, do we really need the Olympics? We Americans already know we're better than every other country on the planet anyway, who the hell needs a gold medal to prove it? ;)

Goodbye, Mr. Baldwin: So Alec Baldwin said that he would leave if Bush got elected president. Do you know what the funny thing about this is? This is no joke--he said this, and once people heard about it--they resoundingly SUPPORTED his threat (if you can call it that). Basically, they followed Spacebabie's logic--booting Alec Baldwin's hairy, overrated ass out of the country is one more reason to vote for Dubya. Once he heard that people wanted him to go, though, he recanted. Damn. But that's funny--the guy goes "I'll leave the country!", and people *want* to see him leave.
If it seems like I'm overly hostile towards Alec, it's because I am. He's an asshole. Back when the Clinton scandal with Blewinsky was going on, Alec actually said he'd wish people would kill Henry Hyde. Folks, regardless of whether or not there was a "right-wing conspiracy" or not--you don't kill somebody just cause they shake a finger at the President for screwing an intern.

Politics: Speaking of the dirty "P" word (and it's the dirtiest of all words beginning with the letter p)....Entity, I'm always very wary of people who disagree with my political views but require that I qualify them. Maybe that's insecurity on my part. Anyway, since you asked, here's the long and short of my political views for the upcoming election:
Gore can bite my ass.
Bush can bite my ass too, but he most likely has my vote.
Maybe in 2004 we'll have some decent presidential choices. Hmm......nope, probably not.

Tenchi in Tokyo: The thing about this show is, its a soap opera. The focus of the show is always about Tenchi and his relationships with the girls, and the plot with that evil demon girl is secondary to that. Still, I must say--I love Tenchi anything. It's one of my favorite all time animes of all time. Big giant fighting robots are cool, and I like long, drawn-out martial arts battles, but for some reason, I'm never as entertained as I am when I'm watching the Girls. And Tenchi too, I suppose.
BTW, about this show....is it wrong for me to hate Sakuya? Cause I do. That little tramp.....IMO, Tenchi is only for 2 people--Ryoko or Aeka. Nobody else! I can't stand Sakuya, wandering around like a lost puppy dog the very minute that Tenchi doesn't completely dote on her "Oh me, maybe he doesn't like me after all". Please.

It's Harry Potter, not Harris Potter: British actor Richard Harris is apparently out of the running to play Professor Dumbledore, the head wizard / teacher / principal of Hogwarts. Harris tried to play it smart; he wanted a percentage of the gross and of merchandise sales for the movie, which would probably be worth millions given the already humongous fan base. But this price must have been too much, as he's now out of consideraton.

Todd: I don't know how familiar you are with the Old Testament, but you might want to check out the Pentatuch (the first five books of the Bible), specifically Genesis, or the books of the Apocrypha, because the Bible has its own take on the Giant myth. For instance, take Genesis 6:4, which reads: "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
There has been much speculation as to what that verse means. One of the most popular beliefs surrounding it in relation to giants is that the "sons of God" mentioned in the scripture were Angels, who fell to earth to copulate with mortal women. The results of these unions were giants. Sometimes these angels are thought to be members of the Grigori, who are later punished for these lacivious acts.
Of course, there's another popular belief that the sons of God is a reference to aliens. ;)

Holy Syndication, Batman!: Yep, God is out there, and he's answering my prayers. The ORIGINAL Batman show--the old campy 60s show with Adam West and Burt Ward--is coming to the Sci-Fi channel on Oct 3. And I can't wait!

And speaking of the Sci-Fi channel, this is an update: THIS MONDAY, the 25th, BABYLON 5 STARTS AIRING ON THE SCI-FI CHANNEL. Every episode, in chronological order, every day at 7 p.m. Watch it, it's quite possibly the best sci-fi show ever.

*walks very tiredly into the room*
Been having a rough couple of days. My life is suddenly far more complicated than it was a week ago.

*****RELATIONSHIP RANT... AND RANT OF TIREDNESS***********
I have, over the past month and a bit, been seeing this guy. He is a very nice guy, and I do like him a lot. He is the first male-significant-other I have ever really had. I went away to school, and he has driven for lots of hours to see me on two occasions. I am usually really glad to see him, but this time it feels different. I feel... very pressured to take this relationship in a direction that I don't really want to go... but it seems quite obvious that he wants to go. I mean I REALLY don't want to go there. I have told him so, and he says he understands but (maybe this is a normal guy thing, I don't know) he seems to have a rather short memory... in my mind, 9 hours is not a sufficient amount of time for one to suddenly decide to take this type of rather large step in such a young relationship...
:(
I feel guilty, because he has driven for so long and noone has ever done such a thing for me in my life before (except my dad (yay dad!!)). I feel almost as though I OWE him whatever he wants but... some part of me says this is not the way one should approach this subject...
My emotions are messed up in general, I had a group of friends who betrayed and abused me and my trust level is not very high. In fact it is rather dented and rusty and hidden very far away so noone will ever see it and expect me to trust them again.
I miss my mum so terribly :*( Dad tries to help me with these things but... sometimes you just need a mum).
I have too much schoolwork, I am taking 7 full courses instead of the four I am supposed to be doing. (this is not really my idea of fun but I have to catch up courses I missed last year because my mum was sick and I want to be in Honours so I can get a scholarship so I can go to Japan and study at the Jundokan Honbu Dojo... the list continues...) AND I am rapidly, though maybe not too surprisingly) becoming an insomniac. Which helps my schoolwork ever so much. Grrrrrr.
I am in a single room this year and I miss my roommate... I miss having someone to talk to, to share things with.

<SIGH OF BIG SUPER HUGE CONFUSED-NESS>

So what??? I don't know.

**********POSSIBLE END OF RANT************

Thanks for listening to all that, I feel a little better. Now I have to go and do more work before I rant for hours and get myself in a state :{

love anyway

Hey, all! I just passed my first college chemistry test! YEEEE-HAAAWWW!!! :) I'm really glad. I needed the boost, you know? :) Now comes the hard part...4 midterms next week. :(

Green Baron> *waves* How are ya? Would you be interested in me e-mailing you some recent pics of me? I'm going to try to locate my photo disks this weekend. I promise they're cool, and they include sweet cars! :) Tiim-aay!!

Anyone else interested in the pics, let me know! Like I said to GB, I'm going to try to find some over the weekend, and then figure out how to send attachments on my new e-mail program...hopefully I'll be able to send 'em! :)

Clone Jesus> Well, I missed most of this discussion, but I'll still make mine short: scary stuff. I think the site is probably a joke, but still scary stuff.

Well, better go. The never-ending battle with homework and all continues...plus I need to catch up on some sleep...

Aww, no! I missed Shadowrider's goodbye! :( I sure wish him the best, and hope he graces us again soon! Pal, it was my _honor_ to read your fics, and an honor to have been chosen to do so! ** Huggles and waves ** Please e-mail me again when you have the time!

Man, the last two days have been pretty high-paced. I had a mother of a drawing to do, so Reub, 'Thryn, Gabe, Austin and I all pulled together in Gabe's apartment to get it done. Took us so long that we couldn't catch the shuttle back to our apartments, so we all crashed at his place (two sleeping bags, a bed, and a hammock). The projects came out nice, and we even had chocolate chip waffles for breakfast (unfortunately, only items of the chocolate denomination inhabit Gabe's place), but I hadn't seen my apartment for three days.
Therefore, when I went to my apartment *today*, I changed and left to go to class, then to a couple stores. However, when I returned to my apartment, I *Could not find my keys*! Aack! I searched high, low, near, far, and then sickeningly realized where I had lost them--on the street, on my way to Rite-Aid :0 Now, you drop something on the street, and what are the odds that you're going to get them back? :(
Very high, apparently.
For some insane reason, the powers-that-be decided to let none other than my roomate's boyfriend find the keys on the street. I was _so_ happy when he knocked on our door that I nearly tackled him (and half of my friends, too(especially Reub, who's very overprotective and was afraid of someone figuring out whose apartment they went to, since I had my school ID attached))! This caps off a day of high excitement! :DDDDD

Gside: <wink wink, nudge nudge> Hmmm, high priestess. Why does that eerily remind me of Fushigi Yugi? But, careful there, since I'd make sure to be able to summon a very powerful dragon ;) So, tell me--in this new society of ours, would, say, the breaking of a mirror or a black cat be regarded as a highly religious rite, or some sort of blasphemy? <Personality test> Accountant? You came out to be an accountant? Weird, I would've pictured you as a Mastermind (when I took the test for the first time, I came out as a mastermind, but I dwelled on the question about fairness and, when I changed it, I came out as a Mentor). Heh. I was told not to learn German ;)

Winterwolf: Miss you, too! ** Hugsies ** That personality test was interesting...I came out as a mentor, giving me the highest compatibility with Dreamie (another mentor, I guess they're pretty rare, though). I also had some compatibility with you, Cali, Emambu, and GB (another mastermind!). Let's all take the other tests, as well!

Emambu: How are things going? I'll email you some piccys of my work, since I know they're long in coming. All you have to do is give me the go-to! (And thanks for the well-wishes about my workload--that's what i came to college to do!)

Adios for now, muchachos!

Real post later, but...

To the Uninformed: "Timmy" is a character that first appeared on South Park. Timmy, put simply, is a little retarded boy. He sits in a wheel chair, and do his unfortunate retardation, can not express himself or communicate in any other way other than to say his name, over and over again, with various decibels and pitches. Most of the South Park kids have adopted him as sort of a mascot. In his debut episode, a struggling South Park rock group made Timmy their lead singer, and his gutwrenching vocals "TIM-MAY!! TIMM-AY!! TIMMAY!!!" made them superstars.

It was really quite a good episode of the show. A social commentary about how we shamelessly exploit those who are less unfortunate than ourselves.

Or maybe they were just making fun of retarded people. Either way, it was a rather funny episode...

Anyone ever hear of a company called "International Harvester", or more specificially, one of their divisions "Solar"?

From what little I have been able to find out... ok, so I haven't been able to find jack on the company.

Could somebody please tell me what the "Timmy" post was in aid of? I still can't figure that one out. (Although I suspect that it unwittingly illustrated the truth of the proverb "The wise post because they have something to say; fools post because they have to stay something.")

One or two minor "behind-the-scenes" comments on "Giants in the Earth".

*WARNING - CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS *

ED - Glad that you liked the basset hound part; it was a notion that I couldn't resist. (Interestingly enough, I learned after writing the story that Greg Weisman has a basset hound; the actual inspiration for the precise breed of dog was my memories of Fred Basset when I was a boy in England - Fred was also always being left on a leash outside of shops).

In terms of the origins of giants - my personal theory is that giants may actually be a form of lesser halfling, whose "non-human" feature was increased size and strength rather than magic. This comes from the fact that in traditional legends, giants are often described as the offspring of humans by either gods or demons; the giants of Arthurian legend fall into the latter category in particular, suggesting that the Giants of Geen may have been the result of human/Unseelie matings.

SPACEBABIE - Actually, Lucius's name has nothing to do with the Lucius in the Harry Potter books (who was Draco's father, I recall); he was given the name before the series even came out. Lucius Adrians was named after the Emperor Lucius of Rome in Arthurian legend.

Spacebabie> Do you mean you're voting for Bush?

I know politics and religion are "the two" touchy subjects, but we've been able to field religion before. Surely politics is second-place to religion in the offend-factor.

If no one minds, what's your motivation for supporting Bush, people who support Bush? The race is a rather close one; there must be a sizable chunk in here. I know the reasons I'd rather vote for Gore, so I'm simply curious.

*Warpmind enters, grumbling something incomprehensible.*
Well, my copy of Arachne went the way of the dodo today, and I had to download a new copy. This'll teach me to keep backups of everything I download... Yeah, right. ;)

And Shadowrider is gone for a while... be well, good friend, and may the rigid foolishness of military systems refrain from giving you a hard time... *Snif* I kinda miss him already. :|

Christine: Well, you know, there are publishers who publish what they see as good stories, and there are "publishers" who just like to come up with creative ways to reject authors. ;) Y'know, you *could* go with self-publishing for Black Roses, too... Surely most of us CR dwellers would buy it. :) (And add to that, I have a few ideas and suggestions for trading veins, too... e-mail me if you're interested.)

Winterwolf: Those traffic rules were... interesting. :)

Oooo, new episode! Must seek out afterwards!

Gside: La Blue Girl is on downloadable format? Hmmm... but, is that the anime version, or the live-action version? ]:) (By the way, I am not precisely familiar with the plot. All I know is that it involves a young girl and tentacles... and that's about it...)

Jaden: Yeah, well, with the mandatory military service in Norway (and a generally sloppy training system altogether, possibly barring the Marines), I'm just glad I'm free from the whole mess. :) Oh, and by the way... I'd rather have a Battlesuit than a tank, any day of the week. Much more mobile. :)

Emambu: I hope to see the US someday, too. Preferrably, next summer. :) By the way, what's this about a personality test? Where? Where?

Oh, and could someone please explain who this "Timmy" person is? (Completely oblivious to this information.) Will you guys reveal it, or do I have to call... *fondles a small eye-in-pyramid lapel pin* my connections elsewhere?

Mecord: Yipe! That week sounds *bad*. Listen, I've got a little suggestion for you (don't know how useful it is, though) that you might find practical. Whenever you feel these violent urges, get yourself a LARGE axe, a few acres of forest, and go out and chop some firewood. All the while, imagine the wood being the neck of one of your current grievances. Now THAT, I can assure you, is therapeutic. Probably not something a regular shrink would recommend, but it works. :) Hope things smooth out a bit now...

Well, gotta go. See ya.

***********WARNING WEEK LONG RANT***********
This last week ranks (and it was rank) on my top ten list of being the worst in my life. It may not be #1, but it certainly wasn’t #10. I’ll just point out some highlights. First off, no free time. And I mean absolutely none. From about the previous Thursday on I was either at work, school, or committed to some task or another. That first Saturday I worked from 5AM to 9, came home and started some work on the computer. I then receive a telephone call, it’s work, they want me to come in from 1 to 10. I figure I need the money and accept. I then try to finish my computer work. It was about time for me to go when I realized I hadn’t had anything to eat yet that day. Well, that was the trend to start the week. If that were all it wouldn’t have been that bad. Then I had to have one particularly long day that ended with me wrecking my car. Okay, the damage wasn’t that bad and it was after midnight after being awake for 20 hours with only 4 hours sleep previous. So it was excusable and nobody blamed me. But then they twist the knife by telling me we were only a few months shy of being in the clear with our insurance company. Then my mother gets after me for not cleaning the house in all my spare time. One of our crew up and quit as well. Meaning I have to pull his weight. And for some reason I am the confidant of everyone at work. They seem to think they can come to me and tell me all of their problems and grips with work. That’s nice, and normally I would humor them, but my nerves are burning a short fuse. Even the small insignificant things that would normally be brushed off were torturing my mind. Then to top it all off I must have pushed myself beyond the limit. Last Saturday night I fall ill with a familiar flu. A year and a half ago this bug took me down for over a week (also on my top ten list). This time it only has in store for me a whole night of vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. But that’s not all. When I get dehydrated to a certain point, accumulated with exhaustion to the point I can’t possibly stay awake, combined with pain so excruciating I can’t possibly fall asleep, I enter a hallucination state not too dissimilar from the affects of LSD. Fun huh? But wait! Remember the man that quit? They hired somebody already and I have to be there Monday morning at 6AM to train her! And there’s no way out of it because your manager took the day off and I have to do her job and I’ll be the only one with a key and security code to get in with! And as long as I’m in town I should go to class because I am supposed to meet with my panel group. We have to have an oral presentation by next Monday. But does anyone show up? NO! By the time I get home it’s 3:30. Can we say “bordering on relapse”? Today is the first break in the storm. A whole day off. And it’s not even my birthday.
*********DEEP BREATH, RANT OVER***********

Sorry about that. I just needed to get that off my chest. So many people see me as this nice, gentle, and caring young man, I wonder if they would be surprised to find out how close I was to giving in to my more violent tendencies this last week. And when I say violent tendencies… I am a redhead after all.

Sigh, you always pick the week I’m out of the loop to talk about these things.

Censorship>> Ever hear of Catharsis? Ancient Greek term meaning a purging of emotions. They would watch tragedies with The idea that the violence, pain, and suffering the actors went through would be therapeutic for the audience. Whatever happened to this idea? I have a list of music, shows, and books that I prescribe to my various moods. If I’m depressed I listen to depressing music. I feel violent, I listen to some hard metal. It’s a good release. I strongly disagree with censorship. I do believe that stations, producers, and even authors should seriously consider and be responsible for what they show the public. I also believe that consumers shouldn’t trust everything that falls into their lap to automatically conform to their ideology of the world and how things are supposed to be. I already caught mention of Offspring’s disclaimer. “If you find it offensive, just don’t listen to it.” As for Harry Potter being banned. That’s a joke. These people either haven’t read it or just didn’t pay attention. If they can’t see past their own biases enough to see some of the larger issues dealt with in this book they don’t deserve to posses such rare treasures. Not that I’m glorifying Harry Potter books, but if they took a moment, they might see that their own biases are comically if somewhat accurately reflected by Harry’s Aunt and Uncle. If they read that book and don’t see that such unreasoning prejudice is ugly and just plain wrong, then they don’t deserve the gift which all such books can offer us.

Am I on one or what? Didn’t mean to go off like that on the Harry Potter issue. The stupidity of some people just never ceases to amaze me.

Kit and Doug>> I’m glad the whole Gus thing is coming to an action packed and slightly gory end (nice shot Shauna). The Ravens strike again. Archwolf and I decided we envy having friends like yours. But… I can’t help feeling that Gus might just be the person to come say hello after his sentence is over. And I don’t think it would be the pleasant chat type either. Hopefully prison will change his mind. One thing’s for sure, he doesn’t sound like the type to get time off for good behavior. >:)

Shadowrider>> This is probably too late, but take care of yourself. And come back to us.

Dreamie>> Welcome and nice site btw.

Winterwolf>> Laughing still hurts but those rules were great.

Cloning Jesus>> I’d like to see ‘em try.

Whitefang>> welcome.

I think that’ll do it for now.

*****RP TIME!*****
Deep within Thailog’s hidden base.
Lithanne slid through the shadows as only a thief and one time assassin of her caliber can. A troop of cloned guards clambered noisily down the hall. An old impulse to kill the last passing soldier nearly overcame the elf. Taking deep silent breaths, she waited for the moment to pass. She had enough on her conscience as it was. Random killing wasn’t going to help her sleep nights. Each life is precious. Or that’s what she kept telling herself. Believing it was another story.
A dark man wearing a red tunic walked down the hallway alone. It would be so easy to kill him, Lithanne thought. The man stopped and Lithanne caught her breath. Had she been discovered somehow? The man turned to look into the shadows, revealing his face, turning the elf’s blood into ice.
No, it can’t be, no, no, nonononononono.

Elsewhere.
Thicarrn and Mecord finished ransacking the hard copy files.
Mecord kicked an unconscious guard, “It was a long shot anyway.”
Thicarrn checked the other guard, “Well, maybe Senthet found… Mec!”
Mecord felt the heat across his face as he ducked. The ball of flame landed in the center of the room. The scattered files caught readily. Thicarrn threw something past Mecord. Scrambling away from the door, Mecord stole a look behind him. Several small demon-like creatures aglow with unnatural fire danced into the room. Mec fired a shot from his crossbow but the bolt passed through the ethereal creature without harm. Meanwhile the fire in the room grew.
Thicarrn kicked one of the imps away as Mec tried a water spell. Nothing happened, “Not good, My magic is gone!”
“Not gone, someone’s blocking it,” Thicarrn danced onto a filing cabinet trying to remove his boot, which had caught fire, “let’s fly Mec!”
“Believe me I’m trying!”
Suddenly the lights turned on and the sprinkler system kicked in. Dousing many of the fires almost immediately.
“Now they choose to get competent.”
“It’s not stopping these beasties though. Come on Thic, time to run.”

Selanit> About Tenchi, I've been following the show too and I'm as perplexed as you are. Don't feel bad, I've gone over each episode and there is little to no information about what her true goals is. Personally, I'm at the point of fish or cut bait. My expectation is raised that this is something big and earthshaking. But the longer they put it off and the more they have 'silly' episodes, the more I feel the reason is pretty weak. So your guess is as good as mine.

PENDRAGON: ‘GIANTS IN THE EARTH’

***This post will contain SPOILERS***

You know: I’m really not a big fan of Lucius, Eddie and Char. Compared to huge great big monsters, mafia barons, rogue magicians, suicidal/genocidal immortals, powerful robots and the other mainstay antagonists of the universe, they seem a little… well, tame. Still, I thought they did fairly well this issue. The Minions aren’t hugely characterised, but they were a bit of fun in the Jackal/Hyena vein, and there was a little of Lucius’ motivations described; though whether his own account of his motives is reliable is another matter. Still, dredging up all this ‘dark lord’ malarkey, though inevitable in a way, does stand out as a bit dated and sad after some of the other stuff that’s been happening to Arthur and the London Clan recently.

Obviously the Merlin/Mary stuff was really sweet. ^_^ I did think that as ‘cranky adolescents’ (crumbs what a stereotype!), Merlin especially didn’t go far enough. These guys are going around with each other for weeks on end, so they’re bound to get a bit crankier than that. It would have been nice to see Merlin appearing really unstable as opposed to the ‘well he’s not on top form but he’ll still pull through’ version that we’ve got. The fact that Merlin did pull through (even if he was a bit knackered at the end of it) undermines to an extent the whole angle of Merlin having had his powers eroded.

Mary makes a great addition to the team (injecting a bit of comedy into it which helps: the thing about wearing a lead, and her words to the basset hound were both hilarious). The picture of her in dog-form was neat too. Lastly of course, the whole angle of having Merlin captured is a good one. I would have preferred in a way if it had been Mary that had come up with the solution rather than Arthur. But then, Arthur really hasn’t had a great deal of characterisation lately. Maybe he needs shaking up a little.

The only problem I really have as it happens is the giants of the title. I felt like the ending was begging for some twist or interesting slant on the Giants, but instead it was a fairly standard scrap and then they were put to sleep again. Nothing stunningly different, funny or dramatic; they didn’t even leave the cavern. But also there are so many species in the TGS universe now. One of the neat things about ‘gargoyles’ is that although all the legends seemed to have a grain of truth, not all of them were literal. Most were down to one of the three races. So having separate unicorns seems a bit of a point waster: same thing with Giants. And Orgoglio isn’t exactly going to bring out those memorable lines of dialogue to chuckle or shiver at all through winter, is he?

Still, I think the season is going really well. All the episodes are of a nice enough size to read in one go, and all have some really nice character work going (especially with Mary, Emrys, Molly and Jane). The stories also don’t fall into the same trap of biting off more than the reader (or at least for me, being a bear of very little brain) can chew – each of them so far have had very specific (and consequently, much more memorable features). If – as the story, and Todd’s hints in the last room indicate – the guys are going to regroup next week though, it would be a little sad. I mean, it seems like the guys have only been gone three episodes (I know it’s longer, but the London episodes pad it out so it doesn’t seem all that long). Oh well.

Another smashing episode, and I’m looking forward to next week! ^_^

Greetings from germany to all of you out there, wherever and whatever you might be.

***** TGS Pendragon Spoilers *****
Just finished reading the new episode.

Well written story. I really like to see Merlin and Mary get along better... though the way this is done seems a bit clichéd to me ('protecting the poor victim' is a scene I have seen often lately).
Another surprise to me was Lucius. I did indeed expect him to pop up again..... but not here in Pendragon.
All in all keep up the good work - I'll await the next story with anticipation :)

***** END Spoilers *****

Emabu> I'll try to.... would be easier if I wouldn't be as lazy as I am. Speaking of lazy.... I finally found the time to scan my TGS pics. Now I just have to upload them.... guess I'll have a new URL for Gathering-Picture-Hunters next time I post :)

SOROW> [as soon as TGS starts up again] But TGS is running.... okay, it's the Pendragon-cycle that's airing currently, put that's a part of TGS as well, isn't it?

Winterwolf> [Rules for Driving in New York City] *laffs* Yeah, some of them met what I experienced 1998 in NYC.... do you have any laws for PEDESTRIANS in NYC? :)

*Emambu sprints into the CR as fast as possibly can go. At the last second he comes to a complete stop and does a back-flip.*

TAA-DAA! Leg's healed, and the only reminders of the incident are a thin scar mid-way up my thigh and the memory. I'd like to thank everyone who wished me a quick recovery. I don't what you said, but it worked. Around Friday I decided to do some running to help strengthen it, and it barely hurt. I impressed some people when they saw this. My brother thinks it's because I eat a lot of tomatoes. I like to think I have a little bit of that Gargoyle regeneraion in me. ;)

I had a good weekend. The send off party for Shadowrider was a lot of fun. I'm glad I got to be there to chat with some of you and extend my wishes to Shadowrider. I hope all of you had a wonderful time too. Like I stated above, in addition to making a full recovery (knew I would, the wound wasn't that serious. I hope I didn't overplay it when I posted my story about it. I tried not to) I got into Pitt's elite a capella group. About seven freshman who made into the choir got tried out, and only three were accepted. I was one. Saturday, I hung out with my vhoir the whole day pretty much. We went down to Three River's Stadium to watch Pitt vs Penn St. We got to the stadium around 11am and had a tailgating party until the game started. The tailgating party alone was worth it. And then Pitt won!! Sunday was the best day though. My grandfather came up for the weekend to stay with relatives in Avella (a town outside of Pittsburgh). They invited me down that day, and I got to spend the dya with them. It was great to see them all again (some I haven't seen in over a year). Around dinner time, we surprised my grandfather by throwing him an early birthday celebration (he turns 78 next week), because he was leaving for Philly on Monday (yesterday). His brother, my great-uncle, was there too, which made I'm sure made his day. Again, I thank you all for the support you gave me this past week. I'm glad to be at 100% again. Now, on to individual replies...

Warpmind: Ahh... didn't know Europe had fixed rates. My mistake *shrugs*. I do hope you get to see the US at somepoint.

Caliope: LoL! Gracias. :) (I think I missed a few accents too) ;)

Guandalug la'Fay: Welcome to the CR! I hope you stick around and post some more.

David G: It does sound like an improvement then :) I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it.

Shadowrider: I'm pretty sure I sent all this in the e-mail I sent you (besides it's not like you're going to get the chance to read this), but thank you again for your encouragement. It was appreciated, and still is. Personally, I didn't like my friends behavior at the party either, but he's doing everything in his power to try and make up for it. I wish you success during your time in the military. Hopefully, you will be back soon, so Winterwolf can throw another party in your honor (although how he's going to top the send-off party, considering the present he gave you, is beyond me ) :)

Ana: LoL! I'll definately be there in spirit if I cannot attend in person. All I need now are the times that the show comes on. Thanks for the invitation! :)

Christine: You actually liked it? You must be patronizing me :) j/k. Seriously, thanks for the reply back and I'll try to get my story submitted by the end of November. I guess I should then outline in to Doug this week then. ;) Also, thank you for your encouraging words. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. The back is much worse then the leg. I hope he's doing ok.

Lexy: *Emambu eyes begin misting after reading the song* That was wonderful! I truly enjoyed it.

Winterwolf: Nuts! I brought in an entire batch of my mother's chilie with me to help you with your situation. That stuff destroyes stomach lining, so it must be a pretty good solvent for super glue too. Oh well, I least I have some food. *Offers it to Winterwolf and anyone else who enjoys massachism through consumption of food* Elite tryouts were last week. I got an e-mail about two days ago that said I was in along with two other freshman tenors that tried out. Thanks for your encouraging words, as and the wishes on my new relationship (I'm not a ladies man BTW) :) Also, I should take time to congratulate you for hosting a great party on Friday! I know I had fun, and Shadowrider said he enjoyed himself as well. That congratulations also extends to everyone who was there on Friday. You all helped make it special!

Gside: Thanks for your encouraging words. I think I did scare him sober. He doesn't carry the knife around with him anymore either, and every time he sees me he tries to find something to do to help me out (like carry my books). It a nice gesture though I wish he would realize that I've pretty much forgiven him so he doesn't need to do that stuff.

*grin* You're comp-sci teachers are Chinese? My professor's Indian. he's absolutely brilliant with computers, but almost impossible to understand and the TA's aren't much better. :)

Whitefang: Welcome to the CR! Stick around and leave some posts so we know how you're doing. Don't forget to remove all pre-existing sanity. It's an essential step around here.

Kitainia: Thank you for the well wishes. I think my friends have learned their lesson. I'm almost positive that the one who stabbed me did. Also, that's great news about Gus. I hope that fifteen year sentence sticks, and gives him plently to think. It sounds like the guy is a few bricks short of a wall. Maybe he'll receive some needed treatment while he's there.

Niamhgold: Best of luck with your bust work load. I hope you are able to take a deserved break soon.

Mandolin: I hope you get everything squared away with your computer. I extend my wishes to you as well. Also, I agree with Jenna. Be careful. I hope that guy hasn't tried anything else.

Nadia: Welcome to the CR! I hope you enjoy your stay.

Favorite Gargoyle Episode: "Kingdom." I make it no secret that Brooklyn is my favorite character. The development that he receives here is wonderful (if only some of the smaller plot holes could have been tidied up).

I'm not going to cast my two cents with regards to censorship and banned books in this post. If the debate is still going on the next time I post, then maybe. For now though, a lot of good points have been made.

Daphne: Thanks for the two poems. I enoyed them both.

Aaron: No I htink they lost the second game last season but they did win their first 13-10. That was the game Irvin was injured in.

Doug: Thanks for you encouraging words. As I stated above, I hope both of them learned from this. I'm actually glad to hear that Gus has been appropriately dealt with. I'm also glad Holder hasn't tried anything. You guys deserve a rest after what Gus put you through. I'm glad you enjoyed the comments for NotS 2. I finished part 3 today so I should be able to send you comments soon, and I'll try and send you my outline with them.

Dreamie: A belated welcome to the CR! I hope you had fun Friday :)

Personality test: Hmmm... turns out I'm a healer. I have 100% compatability with Julia, Nikki Allen, and Sylvia. Okami is around 98%. David G, Xanatrek, Niamhgold, and Lawrence are also pretty high. Most though fall between 60-79%.

Green Baron: ROTFL! Tim-AY! :)

I think that's everyone. Have a good night. BTW, this post is dedicated to Shadowrider (hence the Sata pic). Take care, (and I apologize for any typos)

Danel Johnson> <<How about Triskaidekism, the religion for all dedicated triskaidekaphiles?>>: Sounds good. All ceremonies and parts of ceremonies last for a time that is a multiple of thirteen, with thirteen parts. Daniel, haw about heading the dioscese of Trenton? Niamhgold, you want to be my high priestess (wink wink, nudge nudge)?

Calíope> <<change her faculty to humatities, and Arts to top it off>>: Why? The sciences are so good.

Warpmind> <<Can you say "La Blue Girl"?>>: Yes: Miko Mido. Did you know you can get the first episode of Lady Blue semi easily over the net (32MB, real format)? The subtitles are easily readable.

Spacebabie> <<Gargoyles like Una with hooves do they run on all fours and climb the sides of buildings as well?>>: I don't see a problem with running, though to climb they must have better upper body strength.

DPH> <<Why does 2% milk cost more than fat free milk?>>: Perhaps the fat put extra wear and tear on the pasteurizer.

Winterwolf> <<Winterwolf waits for a kind CR dweller to help him out>>: Sorry, but you are going to have to wait for a female member. I don't generally carry nailpolish remover on my person. Or maybe you could borrow some acetone off DPH. Oh, Dreamie got you.

Dreamie> <<Why is it on network television Cr@p is allowable, yet Sh!T isn't?>>: Although they both refer to the same material, one is generally considered cruder. Couldn't tell you where that came from, though.

Will get to new Pendragon after DLD lab and Principles work.

Because the Green Baron happened to IM me when I noticed I was late in changing the mp3, he got to decide which one it would be. Therefore, I give you The Ballad of Billy the Kid by Billy Joel.

<Dreamie walks into the CR idly, noticing a struggling ball of fur at the far corner of the room>
<She curiously approaches the white puff as it whimpers and wiggles on the floor. Walking to it's other side, Dreamie notices it's actually Winterwolf in a mangle of crazy glue, his feet cemented to the floor. Apparently he had attempted to free his feet with his forward paws, accomplishing nothing but getting them stuck as well, then trying to free his front paws with his teeth, causing him to be in the most awkward position, his tail swishing high in the air.>
<Dreamie laughs>

Need a little help there, Wolfie?

<WW only whines sheepishly, his gaze transfixed on the sticky floor his snout was stuck to>
<She slings out her modified Cyber Soaker, pointing it down at WW... his eyes shoot wide.>

Don't you worry there, Wolfie.. I'll have you out of there in two shakes of a... well... wolf's tail!

<Dreamie pulls the trigger on her soaker, water blasting out of the nozzle and hitting the sticky floor under WW. The force of the water, while taking it's effect on the water-soluble crazy-glue, also knocks Winterwolf head first in a howling furry projectile across the room and into a large discarded pile of Shadowrider's cake, planting his head firmly into the mound.>
<Dreamie walks over giggling to herself, then reaches down to pull WW out of the sloppy mess. Winterwolf spits out a mouthful of cake and coughs.>

WW: <gruff voice> *cough* Thanks...*cough* Dreamie...
Dreamie: Now that you're all sugared up again... are you going to be taking another shower? <evil grin>

Well I'm guessing the same people who came up with that taxing system came up with the idea of marketing Pepsi One as "Great Taste with just one Calorie!", When Diet Pepsi has *no* calories, and above that doesn't taste like a watered down soda that was left on a car dashboard.

Hi all. I'm really sorry about my extended absences lately, but life is just too harsh for me to even have five minutes to get in here and say hi. Hallo, folks. Got a question, and it occurred to me that this is a good place to ask it.

Does anybody here watch the series _Tenchi in Tokyo_? It's on Cartoon Network these days. I've caught what I can, and it seems really cool. But I am slightly confused.

The main villain seems to be Yuki, the evil Empress of some weird quasi-negaversistic universe. She is working very hard at ". . . destroying the bonds of trust that hold together the Family Musaki." Okay, fine. Why? This is what I don't understand. What's her purpose in destroying said bonds of trust? What's her motivation? What's she getting out of it? She must have SOME kind of reason, given the singular amount of time and effort that she and her minions are devoting to the project.

So. Anybody know?

That's all really. I'm back from England now -- it was great, but it's good to be home. More importantly, it's good to be back at school. It was a pretty sucky summer (involving 3 hospitalized relatives, moving house, and a flood) but fortunately I am back in school. Compared with moving 32 year's worth of stuff out of Grandmother's house, studying Egyptian heiroglyphs, intermediate Latin, and Anglo-Saxon is a cinch. :-D

Speaking of which, I'm going to go watch the Powerpuff Girls, and then sit down to do my Latin for tomorrow.

**Winterwolf stands in middle of the CR**

Hi. I'm a little bummed that Shadowrider won't be around anymore. To hopefully brighten the mood a little I present:

Rules for Driving in New York City (This is serious! ;)
========================================

1) When on a one way street, stay to the right to allow oncoming traffic to pass.

2) Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.

3) The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it.

4) Never get in the way of a car that needs extensive body work.

5) Always look both ways when running a red light.

6) Never use directional signals when changing lanes. They only warn other drivers to speed up and not let you in.

7) Making eye contact revokes your right of way.

8) Whenever possible, stop in the middle of a crosswalk to ensure inconveniencing as many pedestrians as possible. And if a pedestrian ahead of you steps into the road, speed up, honk or yell loudly and chase him back up on the curb. Pedestrians have no rights.

========================================

Caliope> Hi! **Hugz** <personality test> I added you to the personality test bit at the end! So you can see me in there. ^_^ <classes> I think as long as you are enjoying your time and increasing your knowledge (with a good GPA) than it's okay! Everyone goes through life differently there isn't one correct way or magic formula about the whole process. I do believe as Green Baron points out it is important for your future and I agree but I'll say go the way you want too and keep your eyes open. :P

Nadia> <headless> That sounds very creepy to me too!

Warpmind> <crazy-glue and sole-shattering news> **tries to move but is completely stuck to the floor! Winterwolf just stands there whimpering slightly** ;)

Shadowrider> Stay well my friend! Until we meet again!

Christine> What? If I had a say I'd grab up your book immediately! **sigh** It should be an automatic no-brainer IMO!

DPH> <fat tax> You discovered the hidden truth! The men in black are on the way...

Niamhgold> **Huggles** I know it hasn't been that long but I've missed you! <personality test> Wow! I see you tried it out! Pretty interesting numbers at the end huh? ^_^

Stephen and XenaTrek, re: game: Missed it, I had to work and besides that it had no local TV here (not sold out in time). One good thing I can say is that at least we *finally* got our first offensive touchdown ... okay, so it was a Hail Mary at the end of the first half, but it counted!!!
Seriously, though ... Stephen, you're right, our teams will play each other at least one more time this season (not sure of the date, but I think it's in December at Raymond James Stadium), and I *also* have a sneaking suspicion they'll have to meet in the playoffs eventually, as well. Who knows? :)

Shadowrider: Good luck, good journey and Godspeed, friend. You will be missed ... but come back when ya can, 'kay? :)

Todd> Well, most non-traditional religions are variations of Christianity so I doubt they woudl try and interpet such a clause. I always find it funny how you bring that up. It sounds like you have a personal issue.

Nadia> Such vengefulness is truly admirable :)

Doug> $LOL!! I'm not mad. I was just surprised she came up again. If you did taht deliberately, then go for it. I just wanted tomake certain you knew she was killed. Killing her again will be fun. Maybe a Russian roulette game :)$

Firestorm> Well, Wallis Simpson was my grandfather's cousin on my mother's side. I forget how I'm his descendant on my father's side, though it's nothing special considering how many descendants William has.

<Enters, carrying a bag>

And so, here we are...I'll leave in a few hours, and this is my goodbye. Well...I never liked heartbreaking goodbyes, but I just want you all to know that you've been great friends for me, and I will miss you all. Take care of yourself, all of you! I want to see you all here when I'll return. And, of course, thanks to those who wished me good luck.

Some replies.

Emambu:> Got your email. Thank you for sending it! I'll send you my military address as soon as possible, and I'll wait impatiently for your letters and emails. And thank you for the wish...a good phrase, I must remember it. :)

Niamhgold:> You've been missed at the party as well. I thank you for your kind words, and for what you did for me, from the bottom of my heart.

Winterwolf:> Thank you. I am already looking forward to that day as well...:)

Also, thanks to Gside, Jaden, Kyryn, Warpmind and Spacebabie.

That's all. I'll try to write as often as I'll have the chance.

Goodbye, my friends. Like someone said, "Hello, I must be going..."

Ciao!

The other day's chat postings about the jurassic park-ish idea of cloning Jesus got me thinking and, after a wee bit of a surf on the net, I came across the tasty piece of information that some scientists in South Korea cloned a 30 year old woman back in December... eeep... They claimed that they destroyed the embryo because of the unresolved moral issues, etc.
I don't know about cloning Jesus but I got really concerned when I read about scientists perfecting the art of cloning headless mice... with the intent of eventually cloning headless humans to be used for organ harvest... I'm not making this one up.. this was in New Scientist... eeeep...

*Warpmind enters, pondering grave thoughts.*
Hmmm... hi, gang. I'm preoccupied somewhat with a greater concern at the moment... nothing you'd be interested in, though... Believe me.

Fire Storm: You got it... not to mention the likelyhood of censoring SOBs and their like taking over control of whatever's left...

Mary: Well... oops. ;) If you've communicated with him outside the 'net, that's a different story. :)

Shadowrider: Yeah, well, we'll try again on the Big One at the End of Time, eh? Or any one occuring in-between. :)

Revel: Heh, you said it well... Less censoring, more creative vocabulary. The F-word is, what, documented in use 500 years back? *Really*, one would assume some verbal growth since then. (Side note: when I'm *really* enraged, there are very few generally-approved swearwords slipping free - it's not what you say, it's HOW you say it.) :)

Winterwolf: *Wipes off cake remnants and grins.* No hard feelings whatsoever. By the way... *Grins wickedly while holding a small tube of crazy-glue between tow fingers.* Good luck trying to walk - I do have some sole-shattering news for you. Pun intended. ];)

Gside: So it's Voyager. That's what I suspected. As for the other Trek shows - thank GOD TV shows and movies are rarely dubbed over here - only cartoons and shows aimed at kids (as in 8 years or less) are. Obviously because they still have trouble reading the subtitles. Though... I'd LOVE to see how they'd subtitle Kirk. :) Oh, and rest assured... if ANY station EVER tries to dub a show with an adolescent to adult target audience, you Americans will not merely hear OF the explosions and screams, you will hear the havoc DIRECTLY! Oh, and I ponder sending screenshots from Ice Castle to a certain... individual... I've encountered - his talents are quite impressive; he does great altering work with Photoshop. Can you say "La Blue Girl"? ]:)

Jaden: Well, you might see why I consider myself lucky to be granted a release from the military system. (Asperger's Syndrome, y'know.) This despite the fact that I was initially stationed with the Cavalry. You know, the bad*sses in tanks. :)

Well, that seems to be it. Cheerio, gang, and see you all around the bend. ;) (Now, if I could only figure out why I chose *those* words...)

Greetings All... Turns out Gordon wasn't that mch of a much. Though the storm surge flooded a few areas here in the Bay area, surprisingly the place where I'm staying got only wind and very little flooding. Small blessings, I'm sure, since some areas of the Gulf Coast got the worst of it...

XENATREK > What, you missed the game? Well, it was a great contest, but with big deference to the Lions and their Silverdome (which is one of the toughest places for ANY opposing tem to come and play in). Our Tampa Bay Bucs had something to prove, and by gum they did! Even though Detroit drew first blood with a 1st Quarter field goal, Tampa responded with 21 points before the half... which would have been something had not the Lons retaliated with a "Hail Mary!" pass before the final seconds of the half; score 21-10.
But, come the next half, it was a Defense Battle from the get go, overshadowed only by the fact the Bucs offense came back to hammer home the win. Although a HUGE defensive effort at the goal lise proved that the Lions wanted back in this game (their defense and a penalty call forced a Buc TD to be called back off the score board; had to sttle with a Gramatica FG), But in the end, The Bucs just played a good game from start to finish, and ended up with a win in Detroit; 31-10 final.
Overall, while I'm proud of my boys, my hat is of to the Lions... so ar, they've given Tampa the srongest oppositio so far (New England and Chicago just didn't have their heart in the games when we played them, IMO), and any team that comes to the Pontiac 'Dome already haves two strikes against them... So while my team won, I give respect to the Lions and to Detroit. I have a feeling that we're gonna but heads again Later in the season...

BTW, Congrates on the last ep of Pendragon! Great work!

Warpmind> <<It's the whole goddamn process of dismantling the computer table it's embedded into that makes it not worth the effort>>: You could always have some fun with a jack and a set of wheels.
<<Voyager? DS9?>>: Voyager. I believe it has been said here that her breasts are the only things that currently keep in on air.
<<not even the original series has been shown in this country>>: Boy, your nerds have been deprived. But could the dub accurately recreate Shatner's.... unique.... speach pattern?
<<the soundtrack was too disturbing>>: It seems they have gone out of their way to stem off any imaginable way to make the movie remotely interesting. There's always photoshop after the fact, though...

Fire Storm> <<I kept the same keyboard for 10 years>>: Keyboards tend to be the most sturdy things on a computer. And a really good one is cheap. It's the bad ones that are expensive. There's no way you'll find my computer hooked up to one of those "natural" keyboards.
<<I know MARY was the virgin birth>>: Sorry, Mary was the immaculate conception. That means she was born without original sin (eden stuff). Jesus is still the virgin birth.
<<LM says that you sound like you are over 35>>: Well, I thank her for the complement. O believe that dignity increases with age and white hair (I would like to have a Merlin-esque beard). Though I do profess to only be in the first tenth of my second decade. I don't think it is easily provable over the internet, though there is only one Garside at Rutgers, and if you check the address in the white pages, it should say J Garside, a good indication that the Rutgers Garside would be a young relation. But anyway, does your Lady have any idea on the romanization of the second two phrases?

Mrs. Morgan> <<I just sent off 14 mail queries and 2 e-queries>>: Good luck, though if they could see your talent, you wouldn't need any luck.

Fire Storm, Lady Mystic> Did you notice that demona.jpg is out of proportion in the CR? Though it is nice to see that the apparent file corrution graphical glitch has been fixed.

Fire Storm> <<This has GOT to be the slowest top ten race I have ever seen in this CR>>: 1:29:14 to get to ten. I attribute it to varying wipe times. Which is prbaly a good thing to keep us on our feet.

Shadowrider> <<my post of tomorrow will be my goodbye>>: Then fare thee well, and may you easily find your way back.

Niamhgold> <<The universe is base 13, after all (winks at Gside)>>: Ha ha. My theory is spreading. I knew if I kept at it, others would believe. Maybe I should start a new religion...

Revel> <<if a person uses the F word more than three times in one sentence they do not strike me as an educated person>>: And they had a lot more creativity way back when. I remember reading part of curse that had something like 100 verses. Could you think of one hundred different horrible things to happen to one person? Oh, wait, yes, we have DC, but that's more direct harm as opposed to his livestock coming down with a plague.

FS- We're not slow we're, we're, we're... we're slow.
(just kidding)

I know sensorship was on the last board but I forgot to put my point in on it. I believe it depends on what you're trying to sensor. As an Art student nude figure does not strike me as being anything bad. Although things can be taken to an extream and that might not be good for younger viewers. As for language, I think they should be try to not as much sensor but try to use a little bit more vocabulary. Maybe it's just but if a person uses the F word more than three times in one sentence they do not strike me as an educated person. I mean come on, use a little variety people.
