Just a quick question.. I watched cybersix for the first time.. and I'm rather confused. I love the animation, and the plot, but is it an anime or not?

**NUMBERS TRICK**
I confess to using perfectly logical equations. all the numbers on the left side of the equal sign represent that triangular number and the number on the right represents what the expression evaluates to. The shortest definition of triangular numbers are numbers that come from this expression n*(n+1)/2.
example: 8-6=15. The 8th triangular number is 36. the 6th triangular number is 21. 36-21=15 so the equation is true. Be carefull what you think is insanity because it may be perfectly logical in its own way.

I have seen Brooklyn go online, thanks to Yahoo Messenger. He went offline with Yahoo Messenger before I could say a word.
Daniel Johnson, great to see you back.

Emambu>The job searching has been put on hold for the moment. I'm still in my SAT prep course and am still trying to adjust to being in school. I'm not worrying about a job right now, but I think I should get one some time in the not-too-distant future. Plus I need to deal with college applications also. <<Ranma fanfic>> You're not famliar with Ranma 1/2??? You my friend need to rent some and watch it! ;P
Ugh...miss talking to Bah-chan. Haven't talked to him or heard his voice in weeks! We is so busy. :( But, I am putting together something special for him. teehee...^_^

Spike> It's a fictionous cartoon? Okay - might be why I never heard about it up to now (but then - I'm living in germany - so there are a lot of series I never heard about :)
You made that name up? Peterbilt is something I know.... a car or truck, yes - but this 'von Dieseldourf' (as it is written in the story) sound like 'von Düsseldorf' - and Düsseldorf is a town near where I live *laughs* Strange things happen around here :)
Emabu> Don't worry - killing myself won't be any fun at all, so it's out of question - that's the fay - way :)
Well - see you all after the wipe :)

*Emambu strolls in*
hello all. Things are moving along at an oridinary pace this week, and yet I welcome the quiet and solitude. Been pretty busy as far as work is concerned, but it's not an insane amount so I can't complain. All in all, things have been fairly calm, which is good. On to replies now:
Warpmind: Glad you liked the car story, and congratulations on being able to attend the Gathering this year! Now, I'm really annoyed that I won't be able to go this year.
Caliope: Felicidades! I'm happy to hear that you managed to get it all in time. Keep your hopes high too. I seriously doubt you failed. BTW, I haven't rented any Spanish films yet but I did see a really good Central American film called "El Norte." You might want to watch it if you haven't seen it yet. "Open your Eyes" was reccommended to me a while ago, so I'll have to go get that soon. Again, congratulations, and I hope you get back some good marks.
Mary: How's you job search coming along? BTW, I might not have made myself clear last time (happens a lot): your stories were not confusing. I only got lost at certain parts because I don't know the Ranma storyline very well nor do I know the characters. However, your writing style wasn't confusing at all, and I enjoyed reading "Double Identity."
DPH: *Emambu goes insane trying to think about what the product would be when a black hole meets a temporal anamoly* Wait, was that your plan all along? :) Anyway, I'm glad you liked the story. I wouldn't mind selling it to a magazine or a collection of random stories for money, but I don't know where to send it. Maybe I could try to sell it to AAA. :)
Stephen: "Drunken Master" was a great movie, especially at the end when he drinks all that industrial strength alcohol. I never did quite figure out why it didn't kill him, or least cause him to go blind. :)
Daphne: I'm sorry to hear about your English teacher. What can I say, there's one in every group. I'm glad to hear that you got those six extra points back in another class though. If only my high school teachers would have done things like that rather then admit to the mistake but not do anything to fix it. :) Also, I wouldn't worry about the extra homework. If other kids want to use you as a scape goat so they don't feel guilty for saying something when they had the chance, then that's their fault, not yours. Lastly, I'm afraid I can't be much help interpreting dreams. My psychology professor pretty much denouned the Psychodynamic method (interpreting the subconscious ala Freud) on the first day, so I don't think we're going to learn about it in class.
Christine: Scary story although I'm glad to hear that it was resolved without anyone getting hurt. Also, I'm sorry to hear about the rejections. Keep your hopes high, and thanks for letting me know about the contributers part of Sabledrake. I always look for ways to plug my website. :)
Todd: The only reason I have't done any full length critiques of the Pendragon stories is because I haven't yet finished the first season. I read the stories but until I'm completely caught up then I don't feel that I can comment on them. However, when the third season of TGS starts up I'll be able to critique the stories (Doug, Rodlox, Brooklyn, and Mecord all know how annoyingly picky I can be) since I'm caught up with both of those seasons.
Gside: Nothing horribly humiliating happened. I received my nickname for the group though, "Ponch." I don't know if you've seen the show "Chips" or not, but apparently I look like the character Ponch on the show. BTW, if half of my classes are in math and sciences does that qualify me as a techie? Lastly, I wasn't able to make it to the Pitt vs Rutgers game (watched it on TV) so I can't comment on the band. The only time they were shown was after Rutgers scored. However, from what I was able to hear they sounded good. Out of curiosity, why did you want to know?
Firestorm: ROTFL!! Glad you liked the story too. :) Sorry to hear about your parents but these things happen, unfortunate as it may be. At least you're taking it in stride. Also, why can't they give the dog to you if they can't figure out what to do with it? Or put an ad in the paper for anyone interested? BTW, when WAS your birthday?
Winterwolf: That's kind of you to say, but I probably do need professional training, assuming that singing is even something I want to do as a profession. Hmmm... spicy tolerance isn't that high? Definately wouldn't this stuff then. The Habaneros would do you in. :) Glad you liked the story too. I'm not sure about a comedy skit, but it would make for a good promotion video for AAA. *Sees Winterwolf blushing about the song suggestion* No comment. ;) Lastly, Congratulations on your best friend's wedding. We'll miss your posts but at least it's for a good cause. Let us know how everything goes!
Katara: LoL! *returns hug* Just telling it like it is. That Goliath ride looks fun too. I've always been a big fan of roller coasters. *sigh* yet another reason why I'm disappointed that I'm not going to make it out west this summer.
Kitainia: I sure hope Lorna gets plenty of time to sit and think things over. I'm glad to hear that you've had a, more or less, normal week so far. Thanks again for your well wishes. Don't worry about my brother either. He's made of tougher stuff then that. The funny thing is that despite all the damage he indirectly caused, he himself did not get into an accident. The only thing that happend to his car was the timing belt snapped. That's all. I will agree with you about the crazy people though. :) Actaully, my brother has always had a guardian angel watching over him. He fell asleep at the wheel once (that's what you get from driving for 20 stright hours) for about a second, pulled off the road, and into a shopping mall where he woke up and stopped the car. He's lucky he didn't die or hurt someone else. There have been other examples too, not just with a car.
Spike: Didn't get a chance to say this last post but I really liked the artwork in the latest episode, particularly the first pic. They say a picture's worth a thousand words, and Caspian's expression (not to mention Lucy's "innocent" smile) worked really well. I liked the emotion in the last picture too.
Lady Ariana: Sorry, you must have left before I found this CR. Still, it's good to have long time veterans returning. Welcome back! Good luck with college too.
Doug: Thanks again for your comments. I might have been a little vague in my last e-mail. There's no way I'm going to be able to send you the first scene by this weekend so you don't have to worry about that. The earliest I can see is next weekend and that's only if my workload lets up. I still have two reviews to do for my website. I'm quite a busy person. :) Also, don't worry about my brother. He's not emotional scarred or anything, though I don't think he'll want to drive into Northern Florida ever again. ;) Glad to hear that Lorna going to have to do some time in prison, and I'm glad that you and Kit are doing better. My thoughts go out to your friend BTW. I wish him the best.
Tim: What a strange, strange world we live in. Some of those stories were absolutely hilarious! :) Thanks for sharing them.
Selanit: That sounds really cool. *Emambu raises his hand* I'll take a copy!
Robby: *Emambu hears Robby's plight and blasts DC to smitherins with his shotgun* Sorry to hear about your internet problems. I used to suffer from AOHell before going to college. Even though this T1 line is not as fast as I was lead to believe, it's much more reliable then AOL. Hopefully, you too will be saved from the pit of computer hell that is America On Line.
Niamhgold: Raging b**** doesn't do her enough credit. Sorry to hear about that too. Those kinds of teachers are never fun. I'm glad you liked the story, and I await the pictures when you have the time to send them. I don't mind if they're non-gargoyle pics. I asked to see some of your works because the one drawing I did see was really good (and I don't think that it was a Gargoyles pic come to think of it). Whether or not they're of Gargoyles makes no difference. However, if you happen to have one of Brooklyn then that's the best of both worlds... :)
Guandalug la'Fay: LoL! Don't kill yourself trying to finish those Gathering pics. I was only ribbin ya anyway. :) Glad you liked the story too.
Kyryn: Glad you liked the story. Actually, my brother went through several emotional stages. During the first hour, he was annoyed at himself for not charging his phone. During the second hour, he was getting rather annoyed at AAA. Then he almost lost his temper when the second tow truck's chain snapped. When the third truck showed up with it's two crushed cars and traffic on I95 began slowing down, my borther was shaking his head as if this wasn't happening, like it was a bad dream. After the accident (that was caused when one car going south-bound was paying too much attention to my brother's predicament and not enough attention to the road) my brother just starting laughing. When both sides of I95 became clogged, he stood up on his car and (I think) took some pride in seeing everything that he did (inadvertant as it was). He didn't even get angry when the bumper smacked him on the head. He just thought that was the perfect end to the whole ordeal. Basically, at first he wasn't laughing, but by the end he was cracking up at the sheer absurdidty of the situation. And I can see that you and Okami have been in similar situations. Three hours for a jack? I'm not sure I want to know what was going through your head at the time. :)
Daniel Johnson: Welcome back, and I'm glad to hear you're getting over your depression. Again, it's good to have you back.
Where are they now?: Rodlox, Wilek, Brooklyn, Mecord (haven't seen him on AIM in a while now), Archwolf (though he was at Shadowrider's farewell party), Cyborg, etc. Anybody know where they've been?
I think that's all for now. Take care everyone, (sorry for any typos)

Gside> Engineering is cool. I'm not an engineer myself, but I know an awful lot of them, and I dabble in my spare time. I don't expect to ever be more than a knowledgable amateur. On the other hand, that might even be more fun than being the real thing, 'cause somebody else gets to do all the hard frustrating work. ;-)
Tenchi in Tokyo> Today's ep was great. Everything came together, and Yugi continued to be the most interesting character in the show. Ooo, the scene where Tenchi cast aside Yugi's cloak and embraced her was . . . powerful. Yugi doesn't have any problems that a good friend can't fix. Well, maybe with some help from a highly trained psychotherapist.
Midterms> Ack, midterms are upon me! Quick, I've got to do all the Primate Evolutionary Biology reading I skipped earlier. Were the omomyoidae haplorrhines or strepsirrhines? What's Gingerich's formula? Which primate species are solely faunivorous? Which species lacks an opposable hallux? Eep . . . who was the guy who described clades as monophyletic groups? Oh yeah, Fleagle . . .
At least I went to all the classes. That helps a lot. Now if I can just wade through all this JARGON!
It's 2AM. Fatigue poisons are rapidly building up in my body. Goodnight.

Wow, sorry it's been taking me so long to reply, but I've been catching up on the episodes that I've missed. Two Big thumbs up for Timedancer. By the time that I was reading the one about the Ruby red eyes I was yelling at the computer screen to send Brooklyn home. Pendragon looks good so far and I can't wait to read the rest of them.
Birthdays- Please accept my late good wishes. I hope everyone had fun.
Doug & Kitainia- Thanks. I fully intend to do everything in my power to at least find a computer with Internet access. The CR is probably the best place I've found so far. I have more in common with my friends here than I do with people that I've met out in the "real world"

Selanit> <<techniques for THREE DIMENSIONAL PRINTING>>: Yup. Called rapid prototyping. We've got a couple at Rutgers. Another fun method works in a vat of polymer material, which a laser hardens layer by layer, with the platform that holds the piece moving down. And things get really funky when your inkjet starts using multiple polymers (I think I've seen one done usijng three types). Ah, I love being an engineer.
<<Sorry, I didn't realize that wouldn't wrap>>: At least now I know that annoys other people besides me.
Tim P.> <<I wonder if they could replicate the M-41A pulse rifles from ALIENS>>: I think Gunjack once posted a link to a place that sells them. Or was it Wilek?... Wilek, get back here.
Niamhgold> <<[Your next 'fic will] (hopefully) be up in the next two or three [weeks]>>: Nice. But can I truly wait that long? I'm not sure I can.
Winterwolf> <<That whole set was done with you in mind>>: You honor me.
Lady A> <<it's got to be weird without them>>: It's weird with them. Especially Wilek. Come on Wilek, what do I have to do to get you back? Go to Cook and start making random sacrifices? (Note: Cook College is a compus of Rutgers where we keep the livestock).
<<I love it here at Wake>>: Sadly, the only thing that comes to mind in reference to Wake Forest is an incredibly long band trip last year that I made while quite ill.
<<it was up at around 1000 words and I couldn't go over 750>>: I dislike you. I have habitually had trouble approaching word count minimums. But then, I am an engineer, and "just gotta take won simester of Inglesh."
Daniel Johnson> <<Guess who's back>>: Um, the Jedi? No. The King? No, that's not it. The Pink Panther? All right, I give, who?
But congratulations on the apparent vanquishing of your depression.

Daniel Johnson> I'm prone to periods of depression, but I don't think mine is clinical. I'm glad to hear you're getting through yours, and I agree that there is a lot of bad reaction going on to prescription drugs. People are slowly becoming convinced that all prescription drugs for mental illnesses are farces made up by psychiatrists. Yeah, there are cases where drugs are over-prescribed, and yeah, there are cases where pychiatrists go a little overboard on pinpointing illnesses, but there are also a great majority of illnesses and, subsequently, treatments that are viable.
Princess Mononoke> I've kind of missed the bandwagon of discussion on this one. I guess it's kind of old news now, but did anyone else who saw it feel kind of let down? I mean, after all the hype about its outstanding animation, I couldn't believe I saw the same movie. I think the animation in "Akira" was ten times superior. Additionally, I found the characters, their motivations, and the direction of the story all to be very muddled, and in the end, it was a rather dull film for me. To make matters worse, I watched the dubbed version, and the "all-star talent" was quite lacking. Particularly Billy Bob Thorton. On the opposite spectrum, the one GOOD voice was (of course) Keith David. His lead boar dude was very compelling. My favorite part (and probably only one I'll remember) was when he was bleeding to death and thought the disguised humans were his clan mates (heh, clan) back from the dead. Very nice vocals there. Ironically, Keith David was the only VA not to recieve credit.

Spike, re: Super cyborg assault armadilloes>
would you and/or anyone else on the TGS staff mind if I penned a few "episodes" of it? played purely for laughs sake mind you, It sounds like a bad sentai parody and It's been my dream to write something like that "only those five brave monsters, the super cyborg assault armadilloes can protect the earth from Baron Peterbilt von Dieseldorfs evil spandex-clad teenagers and his army of evil ninjas" as for the evil ninjas, it just seemed to be a fitting nod

Guess who's back!
Betcha thought those demons were gonna get me, huh? They sure were ugly critters; just who summoned them? Was DPH trying to eliminate his alter-ego again? Well, it didn't work. :P
But, seriously folks, I've been pursued by a very real demon: depression. I consider this a good opportunity to make a Public Service Announcement. Having experienced depression first hand, if I can help others to help themselves it will be worth it.
Depression is more than a mental illness; it's a *physical* illness. While psychological factors can effect depression, it has a biochemical cause. One of the most widely accepted theories says that a lack of the neurotransmitter serotonin plays a major role in depression. Whether this theory is right or not, drugs like Prozac, which increases the serotonin in the brain--or, more specifically, inhibits the reuptake of serotonin--are extremely effective in treating depression. And that's what is so sad about depression; millions of people suffer from what is one of the most treatable mental illnesses because they don't realize that there *is* treatment. So they suffer in silence. Like I did. You can't beat depression on your own any more than you can beat blindness by thinking happy thoughts. So if you think you might have depression, talk to your doctor about it. Please. Don't be embarrassed.
Hopefully, someone will find this useful. If not, perhaps it will have some comedic value. You could always point and laugh. :)
In any case, I'm so far behind here that it's going to be a long time before I can get caught up. I haven't even read the last four Pendragon episodes, which is unprecedented for me. Oh, well. 'Night all.

Well, it's parent's weekend here...I live at college, but I'm still in my hometown, so I saw my parents this evening (as is our current habit -- dinner Friday nights. Actual food. It's nice.), and we decided that there's no point in them getting all bent out of shape in terms of scheduling since I see them a lot anyway. Which is good...I have so much homework, I don't think I'd be able to finish it if I was spending my weekend going to football and soccer games. Ah well. The dorm will be quite quiet, at any rate.
Kyryn: <<Good to see you back! *grin* I felt the same way about my English classes when I was an English major in college.>> Thanks! I'm so glad somebody else understands...it feels like some sort of heresy, especially since my least favorite part of class so far has been Shakespeare. I mean, we did MidSummer Night's dream and Measure for Measure -- the first was fine but I really didn't enjoy the second -- which is odd, because I used to love Shakespeare in High school. Ah well.
Warpmind> <<Greetings, Arianna. Can't recall ever seeing you here before, so I'm guessing you've been away for quite some time now... :| I guess I should say "Welcome back",
but... aw, heck with it. Welcome back, Arianna. :) >> Awww. Thank you! For reference, I think the last time I posted was about one year ago in early september. Very beginning of my senior year. Think I got stressed? Oh, and that's great news about the money -- and the fact that it'll get you to the Gathering is just even better.
Dame Corax> <<And trust me, I know exactly how you feel about college!!! :)>> As I said earlier, it's nice to know other people have been through it -- and survived.
Doug> <<Great to have you in here again, hope this means you can now stop by more frequently. Hope many other friends who have been absent a while (Wilek, Rodlox, DumlaoX, and others) show up like this
someday too. :)>> I think it means I will be back more or less on a regular basis. I mean, I don't have a lot else to do beside homework, and that gets really old. I hope they all get to come back soon too...it's got to be weird without them. << Good to hear you've started college now, congrats on finishing high school. Good luck with your college classes, hope they don't get you down or take up your time too much. :) Good luck with that paper especially, I don't think I've ever known anyone who's had to do five drafts of the same thing just to get it past her quality standards (or does the class require it? If so, I recommend dropping that one if you are still able to ASAP). >> College -- oh yes, it's fun. I love it here at Wake ... if only they wouldn't shut down my favorite place to eat because of the debates. It's going to be closed all next week. And then on the eleventh -- everyone watch the debate and see my cool college campus! :) As for the paper...well, that would have been my fun English 165: studies in Brit Lit class. My professor is reportedly the most difficult one for Brit lit, and I think that played into my over-doing the proofreading. The first three times it was more for space than anything else...it was up at around 1000 words and I couldn't go over 750. I was more than a little annoyed. After that, I was just trying to make it sound like I was more intelligent than I appear. As for dropping the class -- I'd thought about it...but at root I really think the professor's good -- and I want to learnas much as I can, and something tells me there will be no end to the challenge in this class. He says himself not to worry about my grade, which in my past experience is just not a good thing. But hopefully he won't think the paper's too bad.
Daphne> <<I ask him about it, and he tells me to leave it with him and he'd take a look at it. halfway through the next period, he just walks into class, drops off the paper, and walks out. No new comments, but he raised the grade six points and wrote a letter apologizing for my original grade. I mean, whoa! >> Wow. That has to be the most cool thing I've ever heard of a teacher doing. That's great!
Selanit> Replicators> How cool is that? I can't believe it. That is just awesome.
Well, I'm planning to go out this evening, so I think I better get moving...I'm going through Border's withdrawal, so I'm gonna head there with my best friend who's coming in from State tonight. So...take care!
Later!

[enters] greetings, all!
***Rant about a different class!****
There was something in statistics class I was just not getting. (btw, I do get it now). But instead of trying to explain it a different way, the techer tries to explain definitions the entire class learned in 8th grade! then she asks the class if they want to try to explain it, and they can't, either. ok, fine. So later that night, I ask a frined of mine about it, and he explains it and it makes *total* sense. then he mentions that other students in the class told him about the mini-showdown I had with the teacher, and complained that I got them more homework... well, #1, I have the *right* to learn something in an *institute of learning*, and #2, the teacher said ahead of time if we didn't finish, we'd have the homework, so if they valued their weekends *that* much, they should've tried to explain it instead of sitting there laughing at me. I'm not a person; I'm a textbook... and I accept that. But what good is a textbook that can't explain the meaterial? no one has been able to answer that for me.
****End of stuff no one wants to hear about****
And Yeah, I know, six points was great!
Hey, does anyone here interpret dreams? I had a weird one last night... My mom said we were going somewhere today, but wouldn't say where, just that we had to leave at 11:50 AM. Then, I sleep in 'til 3:44 PM. (which I *never* do). I can't figure where that might've come from!

"So that black box lets sentient trees voice their thoughts?" Jason asks, interestedly.
"Yeah, and it sends the signal to the avatar, which stands in for the tree. Sparrowhaven's avatar goes to anything she wants to, and sends the information back to her. That way, she can go virtually anywhere without suffering root damage." Daphne is beginning to like explaining her world to Jason.
An incredibly loud noise echoes through the air, interrupting their conversation, and Daphne shouts in pain and grabs her leg. "What..." She bites her lip, trying to compose herself. "What in the name of all positive forces *was* that?"
Jason shakes his head. "It sounded like a rifle." Noticing the lack of comprehension on her face, he explains, "Um, a gun?"
Daphne looks up, more shocked by this information than by her fast-bleeding wound. "Projectile weapons?"
"Uh, yeah."
"The enemies from your Realm," Daphne whispers.
"What? How can you tell?"
"We haven't used projectile weapons here for about a hundred years. There aren't any functional ones left, and I don't think anyone even knows how to make one." She winces. "Especially with a projectile in such a strange size."
Jason watches Daphne bleed. He mentally asks Mr. Connect, 'Well? Do I have any healing powers?'

That's all for now folks.

quick announcement
Warpmind and I are going to be sharing a room at the Gathering and if possible for financial reason if anyone else wants to join in we still have two spots open. Male or female we're not picky and we don't bite.

Doug > yeah, that Simpsons episode sounds about the way I handle things ... I'm notorious for not giving the residents the attention-seeking results they're after. Once, a borderline was shouting that he was going to cut his wrists, and I told him to do it outside because I didn't want to mop ... got big eyes from my co-worker, but the resident promptly cut the BS and calmed down. So what if my former boss introduced me to the new guy as "This is Christine; she has no compassion; she'd kick a starving orphan." So what ... I have to put up with a lot less hassle that way! I keep telling you guys I'm not a nice person! ; )
Rejections > it begins ... got 4 now ... two form letters, one unopened with stamped note to resubmit after Dec. 15 (dunno what the heck that's about), and one very nice handwritten note from a small press. Sigh.

****The sound of a double shotgun blast is heard in the hall. Kyryn steps in after a moment carrying a smoking shotgun. "That's for DC messing up my email access all this morning."****
XenaTrek> Well, if you're having problems, too, then it may be a problem with Yahoo's servers. I was barely able to access my email today and it's still being squirrelly.
On Holiday Episode nit> *smacks self in forehead for missing that one*
Emambu> Car story> ROFL! Of course, I know that it wasn't funny to your brother at the time. I can remember spending 3 hours at a gas station from 2am to 5am trying to get someone to loan us a jack because Okami's roommate had borrowed his jack and put it back 'in the apartment' instead of in the car. We finally got a guy who was delivering newspapers to loan his to us -- fifteen minutes later we were on our way.
Robby> Try writing your post in notepad and then saving it before you transfer it to the CR. That way, even if the browser crashes, you'll still have your post.
Tim Phipps> Thanks for the weird news. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. BTW, if you used the frame for an automatic weapon, even though the replica might be nonfunctional, you could possibly come under Class 3 weapons laws. I'd check things out before using any real weapons parts in a replica weapon.
Daphne> Congrats on getting the paper grade raised. Sometimes the sqeaky wheel does get the grease!
Doug> Hmmmm! Well considering that Shauna shoots and I do, too (pistol and 30 lb recurve bow), maybe that's another one of those Virgo things. Thanks for the kudos for the editing on the ep. A lot of the credit goes to Christi herself, since she turns in such well written work.
Warpmind> Congrats on the windfall!
Later All! I've got to go see if I can get some RL editing done.

Super Armadillos> Spike, I think the story was in "Dragons' Wrath". I know it was first season Pendragon. I know it was a part Aaron wrote in the beginning. But a twitching in my tail tells me that they were mentioned earlier like the 2nd half of the first season of the main cycle. Another incentive to go back and reread everything.

Guandalag>> <About the Super Armadillos - Is this a real, exisiting series?>
Nope... the Super Cyborg Assault Armadillos is an entirely fictiously cartoon that got started in "The Yorkshire Adventure" (I think....) when Lucy suckered Arthur into watching the video with her. I got Graeme hooked onto it via the internet (and subsequently, introduced Graeme and Lucy to each other) and the whole thing sort of snowballed from there. "Peterbilt von Dieseldorff" is just a name I made up based on a type of diesel engine truck here in the States. *L* I see him as a giant boar that transforms into a truck -- just the thing to terrify your average armadillo...

Sevarius JR.:: Yeah, I'm glad he's getting this much work as a bonafide actor. The Rock is one of the best (not the best mind you, but ho-hum)entertainers out there and he shouldn't just be limited to what he can do on the mike in the middle of the squared circle. The Rock, Chyna, Triple H, Steve Austin and a few other wrestlers have been on tv. The Rock even hosted Sat. Night Live... the best rated one they've had in years! (Are you lonesome tonight?) He, Mick Foley and Chyna have written books (is Chyna's published yet, I forget) and Chyna's on the cover of Playboy. Playboy! The once big-chinned "she-man" of DegenerationX. I'm so glad for her... (nonwrestling fans, imagine the tallest girl in your elementary class who everyone said was ugly gets to be an icon in her late twenties-early thirties, has the adoration of both men and women who wanna be just like her... and she's now a national.. if not worldwide sex icon! Strides, my friends.. strides. *holds up her Va-CHYNA t-shirt with pride)In fact, the WWF gimmick to get young adults to register to vote has worked... 105,000 new voters from their site ALONE... within what.. two months? two and a half?
Robby:: Argh, I sympathize with AOHELL, having it myself. (sounds like a disease, don't it?) I'll be glad to maim Steven Chase just for yiou, should I ever meet the guy.

*unlurks and steps out of the shadows*
My, what a busy week. I had barely time to follow this room's discussion - and there wasn't any time to post at all..... but okay, I think I can spare some minutes now.
I won't say much 'bou the latest TGS story..... I liked it a lot, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next part. Hope it stays a two-parter and doesn't again end in those ugly three words.... for I dislike cliffhangers like that :)
Emabu> [I like the pics, but it seems disorganized] *chuckles* Disorganized? Not really..... the pics are grouped and as far as I remember sorted. Oh, of course there are a few pics in the Gathering section that were taken after the costume ball, but that should've been made clear with the texts I still didn't put in.... *sighs* No time for that, unfortunately. :)
And that story 'bout your brothers car.... well, sometimes reality beats every comedy show...... :))
Kitainia> [You ain't whistling Dixie about huge groups of people being a pain on the roads] Whom ya tell..... at college I _never_ park my car near the entrance to the building, even if I'm there early enough to do so - the chance of getting my car out of the lot in one piece is slim to null there.......
Spike> About the Super Armadillos - Is this a real, exisiting series? If so - is that name of the main villian true? I couldn't hide a laugh when I saw it.. it looks german, and the 'Family Name' sound like a german city near where I live - it's spelled different, but I guess the spelling in the episode comes as near as possible to the german name - at least when spoken :))
*sighs as he turns around and vanishes back to lurk* Time's up, work's calling again.

Selanit: I agree that the language isn't dead-on, but this episode it's been spoken mostly by the gargoyles. One thing that particularly struck me was one gargoyle that exclaimed "ripping" (whilst Lucy was sounding very American). But then this makes sense. If the gargoyles' best exposure to culture is a mix of American television and books like the Famous Five then I suppose it stands to reason that they'll have a slightly odd variant. I'm not sure if this was what Spike was actually aiming for. It's far more of a problem IMO when we see human discussions though. But I think the stuff with Jane at least has been pretty good this season.

Hi, all, I've been lurking for awhile mainly due to fast-approaching midterms and highly ambiguous crits. Apparently, the entire class's work $ucked for this week's abstraction project (the teacher called it "camouflage," which confused us, because camouflage implies that _one_ or a few elements are concealed while abstraction implies the entire rendering of a life observation...blah, blah, and some more important words...). So, now we all have to do the project over again, _in addition to_ our new assingment of phenomenology >:( My professor has been aptly dubbed the raging *itch...
Phew, got that off my chest!
Doug and Kit: Thanks for waiting for my new fic! It might take a few more weeks, but it'll (hopefully) be up in the next two or three :) You guys are the best!
Winterwolf: Got your e-mail, and will respond to it when I can! Right now, I've been writing papers, papers, and more papers, so I've taking a little sabatacle from composing ;) Thanks for thinking of me, however!
Emambu: That was one good story! :D I will e-mail you a few of my works when I sit down and compose my e-mail for Winterwolf...they'll be works that are either in progress or have been completed so far! (Some might be non-gargoyles...is that okay?)

At the fancy restaurant where Kari and SJ were enjoying a nice, quiet evening, the demon warriors (who had decided to accompany the young couple just for giggles) was avidly watching SJ and Kari eat their food.
"This is getting boring," Nelgault said. He combed a scaly hand through his spiky hair. "All they've done is sit and eat and make googly eyes at each other."
"I do say," Angol Moa snorted. "But I distinctly told that waiter that I wanted two *boiled* eggs. These are obviously overeasy."
"Will you stop complainin' about the food?" Belzelk snapped.
"I have every right to complain! I'm paying for this little meal, after all, in case you have forgotten!"
"So I left my wallet in my other tux. Sue me."
"Shhhh!" The dragon-like Gaunt said, peering at the couple through the leaves of the plant that separated the two tables. "I think she's about to tell him something important!"
Kari nervously wrung her napkin. She had been dreading this moment...telling SJ about her powers, or rather her sudden lack of them....but she had to do it. He had a right to know, and their relationship had to be bound by trust.
"Junior," she said somewhat pensively. "I...I'm ready to tell you something now."
He looked at her, his fork still buried in a mound of pasta. "Sure, Kari. I'm listening."
"It--It's about me. You see, I've been--"
Before she could finish her sentence she was cut off by a large noise from the other side of the plan. "See here!" The prissy voice of Angol Moa called out. "That was entirely uncalled for! I simply asked you to retrieve the *proper* dessert that I ordered, instead of this filth--"
"NOOO!" A new voice called out. It was apparently the waiter. "I've been taking food back all night! I'm through with this! You will eat this food and LIKE IT!"
"Angol, you ass, you're gonna give us away!" Belzelk cried.
***END RP FOR NOW***
Top News Headline for Today: It ain't about politics, it ain't about the world, it ain't even about sports. It's that Anna Nicole Smith just got awarded 449 million dollars for screwing some geriatric for 14 months. That must be some sort of record take for prostitution.
Oh, and if anyone gets upset with me for saying that, that's what I view her marriage to that old guy as. Prostitution. Even if I was the world's biggest optimist, I'd sincerely doubt that she married him out of love. She screwed him, and maybe washed out his drool cup twice a day, and bam--449 million dollars.
Laying the Smacketh Down: My favorite wrassler, Duane Johnson aka THE ROCK, has just made himself a payday. He's signed on to star as "The Scorpion King", which is the name of both the character and the movie, a prequel to "The Mummy" (that starred Brendan Fraser). This will be the second time that the Rock plays the character; the first was a small part in the "Mummy 2", due out (I believe) next summer.
The Rock is going to get 5.5 million for the role, but it's a pay-or-play deal, so if the movie doesn't even make it to theatres--he gets more. So, either way, the Most Electrifying Superstar in Sports Entertainment Today gets a boatload of cash! Eh, I'm a mark. I'll watch anything he's in.
And the Oscar Goes To: FINALLY, some recognition. Did you hear about this? The Academy has finally given us an award we can actually care about--they've created an animation Oscar. This Oscar will go to animated features of 70 minutes or longer. The GOOD news: Films like Princess Mononoke will beat the living hell out of every piece of sh!t Disney puts out (YES, even Toy Story. Mononoke makes Toy Story it's bitch.). The BAD news: The award won't debut until 2002, so unfortunately we won't get to see Mononoke make Toy Story its bitch *this* year.
And just in case you guys haven't heard, here's some anime stuff you might be interested in:
OCTOBER 20th is when Cartoon Network will debute the Gundam Wing movie "Endless Waltz", which Robby says is horrible, but hell its more giant fighting robots, so check it out if you want.
And OCTOBER 16th - 20th the Cartoon network will air 5 days of the anime "Blue Submarine No. 6". Mmmm, more animation goodness.

CHECK
THIS
OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<gets a grip>
Okay. There I was, browsing through New Scientist, when I came across this article:
http://www.newscientist.com/features/features.jsp?id=ns225821
It's about techniques for THREE DIMENSIONAL PRINTING. It's incredibly super-cool -- they've got REPLICATORS! (Albeit fairly primitive ones compared to Star Trek.)
There are a number of ways they work -- the one I understood best was kind of like inkjet printers. Instead of putting down a layer of dots of ink on a piece of paper, it puts down droplets of liquid polymer which solidify. Then, it goes back and puts on another layer of polymer, and another, and another, until the object takes form. The US Army has a truck-mounted version using metal powder instead of polymer -- they can replicate tank treads and replacement hubcaps, from the same machine, in the field.
Furthermore, the article mentioned that there is a company which does this for private citizens on a per-item basis. They're called ToyBuilders.com, and they can replicate anything you can imagine. (Clickies for their page)!
Prices range between $25 and $25,000, depending on the complexity of the object to be replicated and what materials you require it to be made of. (EG, gold costs more than copper or plastic.)
SO! Who wants a copy of the Phoenix Medallion??

<--- "Christ, I thought I lived in a weird world, but yours is F^%*-ing Nuts!"
Strange but true stories that I found on the net!
LEAD STORIES
Muslim-dominated Pakistan allows a large, prosperous brewery to operate, even though its product is off-limits to 97 percent of the population and is regularly denounced by the nation's leaders, according to a July dispatch in the San Francisco Chronicle. Non-Muslims can purchase Murree Beer by applying for a consumption permit (stating religion, profession, income, drinking history, and for females, the name of her husband). Muslims are allowed to work at the factory, and apparently many Muslims pay consumption-permit holders to purchase beer for them.
Ms. Ezola Foster, who is Pat Buchanan's Reform Party running mate and a longtime conservative skeptical of most government social programs, admitted in August that she had submitted a false document in 1996 in order to get California worker compensation benefits. According to a Los Angeles Times report, she claims now that she never had the "mental illness" that entitled her to draw money for about a year before her retirement as a schoolteacher in 1997. Rather, she now says: "I (had) two choices to survive. Since (my condition) wasn't physical, they make it mental, don't they? If I don't have a broken leg or they don't see blood, or I'm not dead, they said I have to be crazy." Her "mental illness" was worked out "between my doctor and my attorney. It's whatever the doctor said that, after working with my attorney, was best to help me."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Names in the News
Arrested in Bologna, Italy, in July and charged with burglarizing a pasta shop: Mr. Stefano Spaghetti. Scratched, as an inappropriately named horse, by Saratoga racetrack officials from the opening-day races in July: a 2-year-old colt named Mufahker (which means "glory" in Arabic). The arresting officer, in an undercover sting operation that charged two 46-year-old men with soliciting sex with other men at Hugh MacRae Park in Wilmington, N.C., in July: Sgt. Bud LaCock. Charged with allowing underage teen-agers to have a keg party in her home near Pittsburgh in March: Susan Beer, 50.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Won't Take No for an Answer
Rancher Marvin Edison Hale, 72, was arrested in August in Hays County, Texas (near Austin), after allegedly shooting to death a Department of Public Safety trooper who had tried to pull Hale over for violating the state's seat-belt law. Hale has been feuding with the government since 1982, when his ranch increased in value and property taxes were raised, and a 1999 seat-belt ticket apparently set him off. DPS had advised troopers to be cautious, especially on seat-belt violations, because Hale appeared ready to fight to the death.
Fred Craig continues with his intensive, 14-month campaign against a Fashion Bug store in Fulton, N.Y., according to an August Syracuse Herald-Journal report, which started over a pair of $3 panties for his wife that the store would not take back, even though the panties had shredded during their first washing. Craig picketed the mall store, picketed the mall owner's headquarters, picketed the home of a mall executive, and drove around with a large trailer-sign denouncing Fashion Bug. Finally, Craig won a $36 judgment in Small Claims Court but is still picketing because the mall has now barred him from the premises altogether.
Donna Harris-Lewis (widow of basketball player Reggie Lewis) announced in August that she would appeal her May lawsuit defeat and thus continue her quest to pin her husband's death on Boston cardiologist Gilbert Mudge. Mr. Lewis, with his wife's blessing, had continued to play basketball despite 12 cardiologists' opinions that his heart was too weak, and when he had a second attack, Harris-Lewis had him transferred surreptitiously to Mudge's hospital because Mudge had given a more favorable basketball prognosis. After Mr. Lewis died anyway, Harris-Lewis (who collected about $12 million on her husband's contract with the Boston Celtics) sued Mudge because, as she told a Boston Magazine reporter, "I need to be taken care of, too. Everybody has to say I'm greedy, but I do want my money back this time around. Why should I lose?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cultural Diversity
Despite its endearment as a pet in the United States, guinea pigs continue to serve many needs in their native Peru, according to a June Associated Press report. Almost all rural households raise the animals, which are a major source of protein, but folk healers ("curanderos") also use guinea pigs to diagnose illnesses and remove bad luck. The guinea pig acts as kind of a CT scan; the "doctor" rubs the animal over a patient's body and then cuts it open to check for discoloration because the guinea pig is believed to pick up sympathetic illnesses in the same part of the body as the patient's illness.
As Russia's economy and drive toward democracy falter, consumption of vodka increases, but drinking habits long ago created a public health crisis for the country, according to a June Boston Globe story. Life expectancy is down to 59; average vodka consumption is three bottles a week; and two-thirds of all adult men are in fact drunk when they die.
The bond between mother and son in Italy (called "mammismo") appears to be growing even stronger, according to a May dispatch from Rome by the Chicago Tribune. According to Italy's premier sociology research organization, 70 percent of Italian men reach the age of 30 while still living at home, and 43 percent of married men live within a half-mile of their mothers. Of the Italian men not living at home, 70 percent call Mamma every single day. In explaining her relationship with her son, Guiseppa Liuzzo, 88, could be speaking for many mothers: "He's very attached to me because I spoiled him."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Controlling the Supply and the Demand for Toxic Cleanup
In July, the two owners of Hi-Po Inc., which had won a state environmental contract to clean up diesel fuel from two Ann Arbor, Mich., bodies of water, were indicted in Detroit for secretly having dumped the diesel fuel in the water in the first place, in order to create the need for the cleanup contract.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recurring Themes
News of the Weird has occasionally reported technological and architectural advances in bathrooms, from full-service toilets (1988) to Singapore's (1996) and South Korea's (1999) national pride in having the world's cleanest or fanciest public restrooms. A July 2000 Wall Street Journal survey on the state of restroom design mentioned the one at the China Grill (Miami), inside which users can order drinks, and the one at the Mandalay Bay casino (Las Vegas), where patrons can use 11 glass cabanas that house televisions playing music videos. At a Royalton Hotel (New York City) restroom, a lavish waterfall is triggered when a patron enters, and at Bar 89 (New York City), the stalls have clear glass doors that become liquid-crystal-activated, non-see-through only when the door is tightly closed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Least Competent Criminals
Life Imitates the World Wrestling Federation: Bank robberies in Worthington, Ohio (July), and Oshawa, Ontario (December 1999), were foiled when the robbers managed to get clobbered by chair shots to the head delivered by, respectively, the president of the Guernsey Bank in Worthington and a 64-year-old man, who was selling raffle tickets next door to the Bank of Montreal branch, heard gunshots, and went to investigate.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, in the Last Month ...
Anti-child-abuse vigilantes vandalized a pediatrician's home, apparently confusing her occupation with the word "pedophile" (Newport, Wales). Workers at a seafood plant found a human head inside a 5-foot-long cod and tentatively identified it as that of a former crew member on the boat that caught the fish (Cairns, Australia). A 26-year-old man charged with driving a stolen Mercedes, asked the judge if he could use the car as collateral for bail (Port Washington, Wis.). A candidate for sheriff left town mysteriously after having been caught spreading sugar on the ground (to draw ants) the day before his opponent's fund-raising picnic (Macclenny, Fla.).
Sometime I fear for humanity.
Jackal: <<I found out today, that a friend of mine got 60 years in prison, guess that's why I haven't seen her in a while..., god, I can't imagine that, I can't stand sitting 3 hours in jail!!!! I'm hoping she'll be out in 5 years, I just feel so bad for her... >>
I'd offer my condolances, but what was she convicted of? No offense to you, but if she did something serious, I hope she stays in jail a hell of a lot longer than 5 years. I know you're friends, but there is the larger picture to consider.
By the way,I hope for the best for your new kid!

ok, so no news, test-wise. next time, I'm asking her firdt thing to see the question sheet, no matter what I get. I'm not real worried about the class, though, because I always do well on the essays.
Also, I asked another teacher about a paper that he graded but barely commented on, because Ilike my papers to be good and I want to know how to improve. So I ask him about it, and he tells me to leave it with him and he'd take a look at it. halfway through the next period, he just walks into class, drops off the paper, and walks out. No new comments, but he raised the grade six points and wrote a letter apologizing for my original grade. I mean, whoa!
BUFFY SPOILER: call me low-brow, but I got a kick out of the "bator" jokes. "The dark prince... bator" Hey, I found it funny.

[THE REALM]
Daphne looks up. "Jason!"
The others also are drawn away form their activities by the newcomer who steps away from the portal.
Keeping her sudden nervousness regarding the upcoming mission in check, Daphne looks around. "Jason, these are my friends: Gregory," the tall human; "Jonanthan," the navy blue gargoyle; "Miriam," the winged lioness; "Sparrowhaven," the tree; "and I think you know Travis."
Jason murmurs acknowledgement to then all, a confused look on his face. "Yeah, nice to meet you."
[LATER...]
Having said their hellos and goodbyes, Jason and Daphne are on their way.
"Ok, why are there gargoyles out during daylight?"
Daphne smiles. "Oh, you mean Jonathan? He's part human. Wow, the hands usually give him away."
"What do you mean?"
"Five fingers. Full-blood Gargoyles only have four." Daphne is amazed Jason does not know this.
"Oh, ok. But what about Miriam?"
"Miriam's not a gargoyle. She's of a magick-born race."
"Which means...?"
"Her ancestors were full-blooded humans. She's like that because of of magick... scientific and fae, I think."
"Oh." Jason does not quite grasp the concept "scientific magick". He continues. "Were you guys really talking to a tree?"
"Of course. Wait, let me guess. Your people havent' discovered plant sentience?"
"Never heard of it, actually." Jason grins. "So that's your boyfriend, huh?"
"Yeah, that's Gregory." Daphne sighs. "But a lot of people have a problem with us being together."
"Why? Just because he's African-American?"
"He's what?"
"You know, his race."
Daphne is completely confused. "His race? we're both full-blooded human."
"Oh. What, then?"
"It's because he's third caste."
Jason just looks at her, completely confused but resolving to ask later.

Begin Part 2!
Emmabu: Man, what a story. I can honestly say I am glad I've never gone through anything like that. Though I have seen and had my fair share of car accidents. <sigh> Thanks for sharing with us what happened, hope that all the people involved retain only small emotional scars. Thanks again for your encouragement too. Hope I can continue giving comments on your writing too. <fingers crossed> Looking forward to the next bit. Congrats on the weekend going so well.
Jackal: Glad your baby is turning out well so far, hope he continues to be so. Sorry for what happened to your friend, unless she's guilty. Then I must unfortunately withdraw my condolences. :( If she's innocent or repentant, I too hope she gets out soon.
**BUFFY, ANGEL SPOILERS**
Liked both of the season openers last night a lot. Xander's humor during his time as Renfield was surprisingly lame, but his humor when not under Dracula's thrall as well as the bits from Riley, Spike, Giles, and Buffy more than made up for that. Also liked the plot, dialogue, and the undertones of Buffy's power and its mystery, which I hope will be developed more as the season goes on. Dracula made a good villain too, even if they did have to throw in all the various cliches about him a little too much. And I liked the intro at the end for Dawn also, looking forward to seeing more of her next week. 8/10 overall.
9/10 on Angel. It made a good season opener, introduced and developed all the main characters well. The good guys anyway- Lindsay, Lilah, and Darla didn't get much screen time, though what we saw of them was nice, especially on Darla's side. Enjoyed the bits with Gunn especially, he and Cordy have decent chemistry together and their banter made for good laughs. Dennis throwing books at Wesley was also good for laughs. The whole plot of the ep was well-written, with good supporting characters thrown in and nice fight choreography and effects. I liked the development on Angel best- his guilt about killing the good demon was well-acted, as was the others' surprise over it, and it was good seeing him make amends for the latest mistake. Liked the pregnant woman and demon karaoke bar too, hope more will be done with them someday. And of course the scene where Angel sings was hilarious. He, Spike, Oz, and Giles have to form a band someday. :) It was especially good to see Faith at the end, she's looking beautiful as always, glad to know she's adjusting well to prison life. Hope she's not in too-long and we keep seeing her. Also looking forward to next week's episode (which looks like it will have great Angel development and be tres creepy) and the hopefully soon return of Kate.
**SPOILERS OVER**
SJ: Thinner is indeed a creepy Stephen King novel. Not his best writing IMO, but it is REALLY creepy. Hope he didn't really do anything to that guy who hit him, it would be bad if he did. I don't know, though, King's taking revenge on the van with a baseball bat does make one wonder. <shrugs> I'll wait for the verdict, hope it doesn't take too long. Thanks for letting Kit and me know of the day the D&D movie will hopefully be coming out (we're not seeing it for the dragons, but for the interesting-looking characters and plot, as well as the good actors- Marlon Wayans, Jeremy Irons, and Thora Birch.).
Arianna: Hey, welcome back, old friend! :) Been a long time, have missed you much milady. <grins and kisses hand> Great to have you in here again, hope this means you can now stop by more frequently. Hope many other friends who have been absent a while (Wilek, Rodlox, DumlaoX, and others) show up like this someday too. :) Good to hear you've started college now, congrats on finishing high school.
Warpmind: Condolences on what happened with your savegame, hope you are able to have as much fun with the new character as you did with the old. <Kills DC creatively for what happened, throwing in extra havoc for my recent e-mail woes> Congrats on being able to attend the Gathering, and the extra money you got. Kit and I envy you bigtime. :(
Calliope: Congrats on the tests you've completed and good luck on those ahead. Hope you do well on all of them. :)
One last thing I must mention tonight. Everyone who can, please pray and hope for a very good friend of mine who has recently gone into the hospital. I speak of Lawrence Edward Charles, a co-worker of mine on my current security job. He is a veteran officer who has been a sheriff and prison guard in his time and been a security officer at various positions for the past eighteen years. A fan of Gargoyles, and Pinky and the Brain as well. A man of honor and experience, who has been a big help in teaching me about things that I should and should not do on the job, someone I respect immensely even though he does have his grumpy-old-man side and we've had arguments at times (that have almost always been my fault). The deal is this- Tuesday night he came on duty saying he wasn't feeling that great but was going to work anyways. I nodded and let him relieve me. Then Wednesday night- last night- he started coughing up blood while on duty and was only barely able to finish out his shift. I heard about it from Abel (the boss) today when I called him about a schedule confirmation. Charles is in the hospital now, and we're not sure when he'll get out. The man smokes a pack a day, has been doing so for practically his entire life, and this may be the precursor to a bad disease too- cancer at worst. <sighs> I really hope it's not, I really hope he'll be okay soon. And not just cause he's a really good officer and we need him. He's also a good friend and a man I respect and look up to a lot. I would appreciate any prayers sent his way, I'm sure he would too- I hope they will be sent by all the people in here. <sends up some of his own>
That's all for tonight. Will talk to y'all again soon, probably next week. Hope our lives will stay quiet and full of good things, those bad things that do come ending soon. Also hope for continual good writing in the stories and TV shows I enjoy. Later friends!
**RESUME RP- RAVENS' SAGA**
"Well, guys," Anthony grimaces as everyone in the Onslaught's trailer looks at him. "Um, I'm not really sure you'd believe me if I told you everything about my past." "You don't have to," says Elena. "Just give us the basics, something besides 'I'm interested in this competition of yours.' That's all well and funny, but it doesn't really explain what you're doing here." Anthony frowns, then nods. "I guess you're right." "You can leave out the details if you want," says Keith. "We didn't even know Orion's story about Tanith till he told us on the Avatar. I think Shap knew it, but the rest of us…" He sighs. "And if you can't remember stuff," Doug adds, "that's okay. You're not the only one with the problem." Anthony nods. "Well," he then begins. "I guess I'll do the basics then. There's this prison for big-league scumbags, it's full of real hardcase jerks. It's got great security but recently a whole bunch of prisoners escaped. So myself and a few other people have been assigned to track them down, get them back in any way possible. My boss heard a rumor that some of these guys may be hooking up with people you're fighting, so I thought I'd hook up with you. Haven't seen any of them yet, but we soon might. You never know." "So you do have bad guys from your past waiting to jump out at us," says Mansfield. "Yeah," Anthony nods. "But nobody we can't handle. Of that I'm pretty sure." "We'll take your word for it," says Kit. "Just hope the bad guys don't disappoint." "You're basically a federal marshal?" asks Stephanie. "Yeah, something like that," Anthony grins. "I can't go into more detail right now." "Can you explain how you know of a doorway into Hell?" Leah asks. "That's a pretty amazing thing." "Not really," Anthony shrugs. "It's in Mesopotamia, in a cellar of Babylon. I have a cousin there whose family had some wizard in it way-back-when who created the doorway and was never able to close it. Still there now, for all I know. You have to do a certain ritual to get through from either side, so not too many demons come out." "Maybe Saddam Hussein did," jokes Jammer. "Maybe," Anthony agrees with a shrug and grin. "If that's all there is to it, let's get some sleep now," Doug suggests. "We may have a big day tomorrow, meeting Shap and Shauna and all." The others nod, then begin to break up and head for their cots. "Nice story, Anthony," Tom says. "Hope you'll tell us all of it someday." Anthony nods, then turns over himself, contemplating the nine strange blue tattoos on his wrist as Kit turns out the lights.
The display changes to the meeting room in Thailog's secret base, where five strangers have just walked in and sat down. Thailog, Donna, and General Zale are looking them over- the clone gargoyle with a thoughtful expression and the general with an eyebrow raised. The professor too scratches her head as she considers the odd group. One is a tall brown-haired Frenchman in a military uniform, an old-looking M-1 carbine slung over his shoulder along with a bulging backpack full of combat gear. He seems to be sizing Thailog up with a strange grin. Next to him is another soldier, tall and redhaired with Slavic features who is dressed in the uniform of Zale's militia and carries a SAW. On the Frenchman's other side is what looks like a short man in green helmet and armor with an sinister smile on his average face and gleaming white teeth. Next to him stands what looks like a ten year old girl with long curly blonde hair and unnaturally pale skin dressed in an expensive-looking purple dress. Her smile shows a hint of fangs. Both she and the armored man are dwarfed by the fifth being, a huge male royal purple gargoyle who seems to be missing his wings. Only the membranes of them up to the elbow joint remain on his back, and what's there is covered with scabs and blisters. A pained yet grim look is on his noble face. Thailog frowns and taps as he considers the group. "So you all want jobs?" he asks them. "Yes," the Frenchman replies in a heavy accent. "Provided you're not a weakling who doesn't know how to properly conduct a war." As Thailog grimaces, the strange gargoyle tosses him a small package. "I suggest you eat what is in there, quickly," he intones in a raspy voice. "Had I known what you were before we came in, I would have stayed outside. I have a condition, it may spread to others of my kind. Including half-gargoyles and gargoyle clones." Thailog raises his eyebrow, then opens the package and grimaces as he chomps down on the strange weeds that are within. "I've already hired Lieutenant Schaefer as a member of my militia," Zale tells him as he does so. "I'd thought he was dead in our first encounter of the Ravens, but apparently he wasn't. It just took him a while to get back to us. He vouches for the others. I don't know if his judgement is correct, but…" "What are your names?" Thailog asks the applicants, cutting Zale off with a wave of his hand. "I'm Paul duGaul," the Frenchman replies. "Xothux," the man in armor says, suppressing a heavy grimace. "Ty-Ubemngoe," rasps the gargoyle. "Pronounced how it sounds." "And I'm Claudia," the little vampire girl curtsies. "Pleasure to meet you." She smiles again as she stands back up. Thailog looks them over again, tapping his fingers. "Do you want us to detail our capabilities now?" duGaul asks. "Show you our resumes, what we can do?" "Schaefer was a Green Beret in the Gulf War," Zale supplies. "Iraqi artillery burst took half his face off, a miracle he survived. His jaw's iron under the flesh, he can't speak. Still has his training, his skills, very reliable." Schaefer nods in agreement with this when Thailog looks his way. "Um, Lord Thailog," Donna says. "Shouldn't you dismiss that gargoyle? If he's spreading a disease…" Thailog cuts her off with a wave of his hand. "You do not need to detail your exploits," he tells the group of applicants. "Whether or not you can serve me is best detailed in a test." He takes a folder out from under his desk and shoves it across the table. "Your targets. Go kill them. When you bring back proof of having done so, your status as employees of my organization is assured." DuGaul and the others frown and give each other and Thailog strange looks, then Schaefer reaches to pick up the folder as the screen goes blank.

"Watch out Sarita!" Patty shouts unnecessarily as the flesh golem lunges at Hassan's girlfriend and she dodges its initial blows, fighting back with several kicks to the golem's midsection that look like they would make any normal man tumble over with multiple rib fractures but only slightly upset the golem's balance. It strikes back with punches that Sarita does her best to dodge, taking the few that land. "Mom, we've gotta help her!" Patty tells Mary, who nods, looking grim as she goes to her unconscious son and husband and checks that they are still alive and have no serious bleeding wounds. "Go call 911," she tells Patty as Sarita continues to hold off the golem. "Tell them we're being assaulted and in danger. We'll get the police here to help, explain things to them however makes sense. We'll think how when the time comes." "Ah, alright," Patty shrugs, scampering off. Mary glances at Jazeem, who is still gasping and bleeding heavily on the floor, then nods grimly and grabs Fasil's Desert Eagle. "Sarita!" she cries, taking aim at the golem. Sarita nods and drops to the ground just as the golem's latest blow hits her in the stomach, only partially out of wanting to dive out of the line of fire. Mary shoots the Desert Eagle several times, emptying its clip and disintegrating the construct's head in a spray of smoke and flesh. "Oh my God!" Mary gasps as the gun clicks dry and the golem still stomps toward her, seemingly seeing without eyes and thinking without a brain. It reaches out its hands for her throat. Then a loud yell sounds from behind it and Sarita knocks the golem down with a flying tackle, raining her fists down on its back as it flails its limbs on the ground. "Get off it!" someone yells, and she does so, just in time as a gout of flame washes over the golem's body and burns it to ash. "There we go!" the now-in-miniature-dragon-form Lloky smiles, coughing out a last puff of smoke and grinning as she suppresses the fire with a wave of her hand. "Those dang golems are always hard to kill," she shakes her head, looking at the large black spot on the rug that is all that remains of the golem she torched. "You recovered quickly," Mary says. "I'm a dragon," Lloky shrugs. "We do that. Is everyone okay?" Mary nods, smiling. "Thanks to you and Sarita, yes." "Good thing I was fashionably late, for once," Sarita smiles. "I got the drop on these two jokers." Chuckling, she walks over to Hassan and gives him a kiss. "Wake up, my Arabian stallion. Your Spanish mare has saved your sorry life once again. You owe me a thank-you." Hassan, coming awake at the kiss, smiles and nods, then looks around. "Yes, everyone's alright," Mary answers his unspoken question. "Your father's still unconscious, but I'm about to give him medical attention. Patty's called the police. Do you need assistance?" Hassan shakes his head, then gasps. "I…I could have had that guy if his big buddy…" "Thanks to me and your girl there, it's dead," Lloky interrupts him with a smile. "Don't worry." "Yeah," Sarita chuckles along. "Next time go get that big scimitar in your room before you attack anybody, give him a little Hassan Chop!" Hassan grins, then nods in agreement. "Is Dad gonna be alright?" he asks Mary, who nods. "Go get the smelling salts, Patty," she says. "He's just stunned, we'll bring him around. Abdullah obviously wanted us alive." "So it was your loco relative that sent these two?" Sarita growls. "I should have guessed. What do we do with the other one, the guy I knifed?" Lloky looks toward Jazeem, or where he should be, and grimaces. "Uh, maybe we need to first find out where he is?" The others look at the same spot she is looking at, see that only blood on the floor remains of the sorcerer, and give each other frowns as a siren sounds from outside, growing louder as the police arrive.
Meanwhile, in the mines beneath the Underground City, Gubio and Erin rush forward low to the ground as gunfire from their side and the enemy's splits the air. Both sets are intended to cover and distract and thus do not do much besides shatter gems on the walls and cause Annabelle to keep her ears covered as she looks for the source of the enemy and calls out their position. Gubio and Erin nod at each other in response to her cry and get to the rock formation the two caiveh thugs were hiding behind just as they panic and try to move. Gubio intercepts the male with a kick to the crotch that makes it roar in pain and then a pistol-whip upside the head that knocks it unconscious. The more savage female snarls at Erin and then leaps at her as she brings up her rifle, unluckily impaling herself on its bayonet. As the thug gasps in surprise and pain, Erin fires several rounds pointblank into its body and then shoves the corpse to the ground. "That takes care of those two," she says, and Gubio nods, grimacing at the brutal way in which the female thug died. "That's all of them, right?" he asks. Coming out from behind their cover with Annabelle and Mist following, Terrell nods. "I don't see Kovu or Tiara, though. Wonder where they ran off to." "Perhaps we can search together," a voice cuts in, and the group turns to see a large party of caiveh standing in the middle of a nearby corridor around a mine-car in which they arrived. Vincent and a smiling Bessus stand in the front. "Vincent!" Terrell greets his people's leader. "How'd you find us?" "The homing device you wear," Vincent replies solemnly. "I decided I needed to ask for your help after all with the bomb situation, and I was surprised when you said you were under attack by caiveh soldiers loyal to Kovu and Tiara, so I came to you as quickly as I could. Your friend Bessus here explained everything on our way down- it seems I owe you a substantial apology for my earlier disbelief." "Did you get the guys who were after you?" Bessus asks as they shake their heads and say it's alright. "Not all of them," Erin shakes her head. "These were the last two thugs, but Kovu and Tiara are still out there." "Go search for them," Vincent orders the Isolation Patrol soldiers accompanying him, who nod. "If you find them, do what is necessary but try to take them alive. We want a trial for treason at least." "Yes sir," the leader of the soldiers replies, and they spread out to search. "Are you all alright?" Vincent turns back to Gubio, Erin, Mist, Terrell, and Annabelle. They nod. "All six of us," Annabelle says, patting her belly with a grin. "Don't worry about the nuclear bomb Abdullah put down here," adds Gubio. "We had a certain genie get rid of it before the thugs shot his lamp and sent him back to his home plane." "That's a relief," Vincent smiles, looking at Terrell. "I'm willing to give you Kovu's position as Defense Minister once we've found and arrested him, if you accept." Terrell nods. "Of course I do." Then he frowns, his ears perking up at a loud humming from further down the tunnel behind them. "What is that noise?" As the noise grows louder and everyone turns towards it, the screen goes blank.
**THE NOISE'S SOURCE WILL BE REVEALED NEXT TIME, END FIRST BIT OF THIS POST'S RP**
Hi everybody. Doing alright? Things are going fine here, just about everywhere except on my job. <sighs> It's good to be doing your best to get rid of the bad workers, but when the only people you find to replace them turn out to be convicted (and unreformed) felons, people who want to work but can't find a babysitter, or worse, those who get the job and then don't show up their first day and forget to call in and say they won't be showing up… <shakes head> That's even worse IMO. Hope we can find good people able to replace the bad ones soon. In other news, Gus's girlfriend has been sentenced to five years in prison, at least two if she gets paroled, which she may or may not. Jammer, who attended the trial, said she seemed surprisingly calm and apologetic facing the judge. <shrugs> Go figure. At least she's having to pay a pretty hefty fine to both the store and the state no matter what. :) No good movies coming out this weekend, saw Almost Famous last weekend and enjoyed it. I don't remember seeing Billy Crudup anywhere other than Mononoke before, but he was real good here. So were Kate Hudson and Fairuza Balk (who I quite enjoyed in a comedic role). Great plot and script to the film as well, and many good laughs and character moments. It had its downsides, see Kit's post below for them, but overall it was worth the price. :) One more thing- Kit and I found out that Yahoo doesn't allow you to change your e-mail address once you get it from them. Not once you give them an ID- we could get a whole new account but that would give us a bit too many e-mail addresses. :( So Kit and I decided to leave the e-mail as DougElder21@yahoo.com for now, and switch it to DougKit4Ever or something like that once we find a new ISP. Which will probably take a few months due to all the time constraints in our lives right now. <sighs> Good to have the debate over the new address settled even this way. On to comments and replies.
First, to Rodlox, if he's still out there: $ You still have not responded to my query last week about your characters in the RP, so Kit and I are gonna go ahead with ideas we have for the part of the plot surrounding them. Hope this is okay with you, please let us know ASAP if it's not. Look below for what we're doing with them right now. Some things I have to point out about the bad guys you contributed- Schaefer and Claudia are our own additions to their party, e-mail us if you want full details on them. I also hope you don't mind us taking a bit of liberties with Ty-Ubemngoe, in absence of data on his personality or history (which we were going to ask you about, but are unsure if you're still around, so we're waiting), we're trying to mold the most intriguing story around him that we can. Same goes for DuGaul, Xothux, Anthony, and Oskar (who will be brought in sooner or later), though we do have more data on them. Hope to see you back in the RP and the CR soon, if that's what you want. <hopeful tone> $
Batman Beyond: Yeah, this season of it hasn't been that great so far. The opening ep had its moments in the Bruce and Terry interaction, and the nice use of the incidental character, but the villain was boring. The ep with the Static Teens was just a bleah predictable one-shot IMO. The Royal Flush gang ep was just plain great, but it's been the exception. In fact, lately the comic version of Batman Beyond has had better stories than the TV cartoon- check out the latest issue for a nice story developing the Terry-Barbara relationship- and why they haven't had any more trouble from her about interfering in police business. Hope that storylines in the cartoon version pick up soon, things like that should really be resolved in there. Guess I'll find out Saturday morning. Like what's been done so far in MIB season 4, not so much in the other shows. Jackie Chan has its moments, but I've never really been as big a fan of him as some.
Graymonk: Good to know you want Nimue to make an appearance in Pendragon too, hope she will soon! :) And welcome back.
Taleweaver: Waiting eagerly for that ep about which you cackled. Congrats on the Jeopardy spot and good luck.
Jenna: Sorry about your car being impounded, good that you were able to get it out. Like Kit, I hope you get a new one soon and wish you better luck with it. Kit and I are certainly having such with our new car (as you all know, we got frustrated with all the repairs the Volvo kept needing and traded it for a Ford Focus a month ago. Hope it continues to perform well for a long time to come.).
Firestorm: Hmm, that new guy you brought in sounds like he's wronged me in the past. What with all the Volvo repairs and so on. So…<grabs Otto Mobile, beats him up severely with a nightstick, chains him to the floor, then gets behind the wheel of the old Volvo and runs over Otto with it, leaving it parked on top of him. Doug then gets out and as the Destroyer of Cars gasps and begs for mercy, throws a lit match into the gas tank, causing a huge explosion. He then grins.> There, I feel a lot better now. Thank you so much. <bows>
Niamhgold: Congrats on the new job, hope it is going well. Don't worry, Kit and I will wait as long as we need to (just hopefully not forever) for your next fic.
Winterwolf: We're happy that things are going okay too. Thanks much for your encouragement through it all.
Skippy: Good to hear from you again, and know you're still thinking of us. Hope that you are able to come back and get your own net access soon. :)
Daphne: Nope, haven't heard of the bread-squeezer around here, hope he is soon punished for his misdeeds and/or cleans up his act. Sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved teacher, I mourn him too. Good teachers are unfortunately very rare in this world, we must never cease in showing those that exist our appreciation. <grin> Condolences on the test too, but such things happen. Hope the grades you get soon improve, good luck with tests ahead. And if the bad grade was the teacher's fault and not yours, hope she is soon motivated to shape up and does! :)
SOROW: Yeah, things have gotten chillier here too recently. It's very nice, what with all the summer heat we had, but I do have to wear a coat on night shifts so it's not all good. Then again, Kit does think the coat in question looks sexy…<shrugs>. Congrats to your football team on the great game, it's good when a team has those even if they lose. :( Hope to soon see you back in here again.
Highlander: I too don't like its continuity (or lack thereof) that much- the underlying concept of the show is interesting, and many of its plots and characters have been cool, but it has too many problems to be a real classic IMO. Nice comments on it from David G- interestingly enough I was planning to have Zack take the Rat King's head in my ficverse (in "Family Ties") and thus get his powers over talking to and controlling rats- much to Zack's chagrin and Kara's disgust. He wouldn't have had much choice in the matter, or need to practice with the power much to use it (not that he would want to). I too wonder about the powers Duncan and Connor should have but apparently don't.
Katara: Good to know I'm not the only one whose life has been really busy lately. College and work are really competing for my life right now, I'm actually having to make time to sleep! <shakes head> Hope your kids soon get well, if they aren't already, and continued good luck with all the hassles in your life.
Christine: Nice job dealing with that trespasser, glad he didn't cause any real problems. Your story about him made me think of the Simpsons episode where a guy with a machine gun goes nuts in an old folks' home that's probably a lot like where you work and the on-duty nurse responds with "Our <shotgun blast> residents <shotgun> are <Boom!> trying <Boom!> to sleep!" That made me laugh my head off, unlike the end of the same episode. <grumbles> Getting off subject. Too bad the cops didn't do what they were supposed to in there, hope your complaints get through. The incident reminds me of a situation we had at the north store recently, where a guy went back into the employees-only area looking for assistance and cussed out the first employee he found when she told him she wasn't in the shoe department (which he needed help finding something in) and thus could not help him. He then went to the shoe department and started pulling merchandise off the walls and throwing it around. I was called to escort him off the premises, but he refused to leave, so we had to call the police. They fortunately responded quickly and arrested him for criminal trespass and disturbing the peace, making us all breathe easier. Too bad it wasn't the same with you. <sighs> Guess cops everywhere are unfortunately not all alike. Thanks for mentioning that radio ad, wonder if Kit and I will ever hear it here. <shrugs> Strangely enough we hope for lots of appliances as our wedding gifts, provided they're useful ones. Camping and outdoor gear's okay too, though we don't get to camp out that much. China we hope not to get, we're the type who prefer to eat out or off plastic. But then again china might make great projectile weaponry if burglars break in. <grin>
Jaden: Good luck getting Internet access in Korea, and with things in the place in general like I've said before. Hope you have good times and come back quick. :) Enjoying your posts in here in the meantime.
Happy Belated Birthday Coyote! Many Happy Returns! Hope it went great as you hoped and better than you planned. :)
<moment of silence for Kelly of the Mini-Clan> I never knew her, but wish I had. :(
Kyryn: What a coincidence, Shauna's a nitpicky Virgo too. :) Heh. And you're both real good at your respective jobs. Speaking of which, great job editing the latest Pendragon ep! I didn't find a single typo or grammar mistake! :) There was a continuity mistake Selanit pointed out, but that was the only one of that sort. Hope such mistakes can be eliminated in future eps.
**PENDRAGON SPOILERS**
Like I said above, the editing on "On Holiday, pt. 1" was marvelous. So was the art, character development, and writing. Great pacing on the plot, too. I can't recall ever seeing it so good. :) Also liked the dialogue (especially when it included the two rangers) and the foreshadowing of Mary becoming more wolflike and whatever it is Feldman and Radcliffe are up to. Looking forward to finding out where the staff is going next with those threads. The Caspian and Rosalind scenes were good too, as were the Kylie&Brianna and Michael scenes. The newly introduced young Londoners have nice scenes too, their personalities have been established well, and I can hardly wait for more scenes with Lucy and Dorcas. More catfighting is on the way, right? :) Until she comes out of her shallow personality, which I hope she will someday, I'll be entertained by the squabbles between her and Lucy very much. Also liked the moments concerning the beasts, I too laughed my head off at Caspian all wet. Kirstie was also funny, and I liked Lancelot in the little glimpse we got of him- too bad we probably won't see more. Good development on Dulcinea, Doug (nice name! :), Mary, Caspian, and Michael as well. Appreciated the My Side of the Mountain plug too, I liked that book a lot when I read it. Wanted to emulate the hero for a while too, until Mom talked me out of it. <grin> Can't wait for next week's episode, this one gets a 10/10 from me.

Welcome back Arianna.
David G.> <<I figure Graeme and Lucy e-mail more than they chat, too>>: But there have been so many references to "let me know when the other person is online," that it seems like they are doing a lot in real time.
Warpmind> <<9 Crowns today) that I had coming. Per day, six days per week, since October 29th>>: Congratulations. Enjoy your newfound wealth. And it looks like you will. Now how do I go about getting the time and money for a transcontinental trip while getting an internship and maintaining my free time during fall and spring semesters...
<<I have an excuse for the mix-up>>: Of course. I was just doing some un-mixing.
<<prepare yourself for another song I stumbled upon somewhere>>: I shiver with anticipation.
Calíope> <<I have to read El Mio Cid>>: Just watch out for the airships. And give my regards to Mid.
Fire Storm> <<ALL BOW DOWN BEFORE THE CHOSEN KING OF NORWAY>>: **Bow, grovel, repeat**
<<FS starts welding his costume together>>: Mmm... welding. Need any help with a control system. Or could you hold off on that until I finish DLD?
Selanit/CSH> error: When I got to that point, I assumed they would pack everyone into a trailer or something then leave. I forgot about it when they actually left.

No comment about those numers (of course, that could be constructed as a comment) YET.
**DPH's wacky theory about spying & the recording industry**
I start this theory with a comment about something I thought about programming once. I thought about making my own encryption program. But the problem remained for me was how to hide the encrypted information in front of your noise and you would not know it. So then, a brilliant idea occured to me. After several layers of encryption, why not convert the encrypted data into music? I would use the data to decide where to put the notes and let the computer randomly put notes out.
Then, I thought someone could use this exact same procedure to smuggle data of the country but releasing music and turn the spying ring into a profitable venture. Who would think to check music for patterns? So that is my whacky theory.
**END WHACKY THEORY**
**JOB RELATED**
From out of nowhere, I had a phone call for a job in the computer industry. I will have to wait 2 weeks to find out more because the guy is going out of town.

SELANIT - I'm afraid that we currently have no Brits on the TGS staff. I've spent some time in England as a boy, but that was in the late 70's, so my acquaintance with the country is probably a bit behind the times.
And thanks for the "at first night" nit; we'd all missed that one.

** More Spoilers, no rant this time **
It was a pretty good ep. I kind of wish more time had been spent working on the villains, though. In particular, I'm interested in more development of Morgana's plot to frame Arthur; it's far more interesting than all these desultory enounters with bit players from the colossal conflict last year.
Admittedly, you have to do SOMETHING to lend an episode dramatic tension, and it would be tough to focus totally on Morgana's plot without bringing it to a premature conclusion. It would be nice to see some further development of various characters -- some more time spent on Mary would be nice, since she is a major character this season.
One thing I am pleased with is the reasonably realistic depiction of the British. Their habits and architecture, anyway. The language could use some work. For example, I never once heard a Brit say "Bubble & Squeak" in the entire year I lived there. Except once, and only because *I* brought it up. Also, the thick Scottish accents seen in Brianna and her clan aren't particularly representative of the Scottish population at large. Of course, you can't get much further from a "representative sample" than a clan of gargoyles living isolated in a forest, so I don't know why I even brought it up.
Is there someone on TGS staff who has experience with Britain, or is British? You've got some good details put into your settings, particularly the real ones.
** End spoilers **
Hurray! Axis Systems has finally shipped my new comp! It'll be here tomorrow. And it ONLY took them a MONTH AND A HALF from when I ordered it!! The hardware had better be good, since the service was so awful. At least the price was pretty good, and I had a lot of options when customizing the system.

<begin rant>
Um, I'm actually not done reading it yet. But I came across something that I just have to shout about.
Caspian: "Once Amanda has the extra medical supplies ready, we could leave at first light."
No, they couldn't leave at first light!! It's pretty tough to travel when you're frozen in a stone shell. Come on, this is fairly basic. Sheesh.
I wish the series would emphasize the gargoyle's nocturnal perspective to a greater extent. I often find myself forgetting that the setting is at night in these stories -- our diurnal habits seep into the characters' perspectives. Writers should make an effort to explore the differences of thought and speech that might arise from being totally nocturnal.

Well, this is one of those bad news/good news kinda days...
Bad news: DC killed my Necromancer. The computer went down, and somehow, the savegame file became corrupted. My Necromancer is no more. Thus, I've started a Barbarian instead. :( (Though, I'll admit, the Barbarian IS fun - two weapon combat and all...)
Good news: As some of you are well aware of, I have been recieving social services money for some time now. It suddenly became clear that the office had made a small mistake in their files: I was supposed to have recieved a pay increase from my 20th birthday. In fact, there was the matter of about 23(!)USD (after quick conversion - USD is about 9 Crowns today) that I had coming. Per day, six days per week, since October 29th. When I was at the bank today, I was informed that in my account, there were 58,000 crowns - roughly 6400 USD - that I didn't know where came from, until later today, when I recieved the phonecall which cleared everything up. So, now I suddenly have a rather substantial amount of cash... substantial enough to mean this: I'LL BE AT THE GATHERING FOR SURE!!!!!!! :) That's right: I'm telling the bank to lock away about half of the money for, say, six months, so I've got the money I need for airfare! No force, be it from this world or any other, can keep me away from the Gathering! :) So, I'll be seeing some of you there, then. *Happy smile!* :)
Now, on to the replies...
Winterwolf: What I meant was that having an equine in charge of computers does not behoove the Archive. ]:)
Stephen Sobotka: You don't know? Ah, well, no biggie, just curious. (Never got around to seeing that one in the first place, anyway...)
Gside: I mixed up the references? Aw, dang! (I don't think either show ever aired here, anyway, so I have an excuse for the mix-up...) Oh, and prepare yourself for another song I stumbled upon somewhere... I'll e-mail it to you later. ;)
Greetings, Arianna. Can't recall ever seeing you here before, so I'm guessing you've been away for quite some time now... :| I guess I should say "Welcome back", but... aw, heck with it. Welcome back, Arianna. :)
Well, that's about all for now... see y'all later, I've got banking to do. :)

Let's see if I can remember how to do this...
*A vaguely familiar figure enters the CR.*
Hello everyone. Remember me? Lady Arianna of Annwn?
To quote somebody...I have returned. :)
Explanation: RL, that abominable thing that eats people alive during their junior and senior years of high school came for me. It's still here. But now it comes with that great thing known as COLLEGE! Which means...I have just as much work if not more, but I also have huge chunks of time during my day to do it in! Of course, there is alwayss the late-night solution...especially when one has just finished the fourth draft of an English paper on Milton that's due tomorrow. One draft to go, gods help me...
Anyway. I've missed everyone so much! I hated being away for so long...but there was just so much work. I had no idea it would get so tough! I'm hoping to be able to be by here fairly regularly now that I've settled in a bit. Plus I keep such weird hours here...it gives me something to do when my room mate goes to bed at 12 and I'm still up for three hours. ^_^
Let me see...I'm so far behind on the fandom stuff. I read some of the comment room, so here's my attempt at being relavant to current topics...
lots of hugs to anyone in need of them...
Happy Birthday to Coyote! (A little late...but I was close...) Also, to everyone who's had one or more birthdays in my absence (I forget the last time I posted...it's been so long!), a belated happy birthday...
Um...I can't be more relavant than that I'm afraid. So I'll leave it at this...I missed you guys so much!
Till later...I think I might actually try and sleep a bit tonight. I do have a nine thirty class tomorrow...*shudder* Somehow, i don't think someone hoping to be an English major should be this upset about an English class... ^_^

my two creds on super S>
okay, first off I miss Chibimoon as comedy relief (those scenes were her attack doesn't work are PRICELESS) and there's no Sailor Pluto or Saturn to my knowledge in this series (but the other two outer scouts are there) but it does have one thing going for it *prepares for incoming barrage* circus-themed villains because let's face it circus themed villains rock! and the only thing better than that are undead (CarnEvil) and alien (Killer Klown) variations and in terms of sheer grotesqueness, these guys are right up there in my pantheon of circus bad guys ( somewhere between the killer klowns and the red triangle circus gang from Batman Returns)
one final thing, Zircon or whoever the ringleader of this operation is, when I first saw him I thought he had this "mysterio" thing going with a fishbowl head, then I saw his/her face, am I the only one who notices the extremely subtle resemblance to Mumm-Ra?

FS- Don't get me wrong..., I hate Britney Spears as a human being, but as a piece of meat...., that's meat I'll eat any day of the week!!!!
I just wanna say- The popularity of that song..., "Who let the dogs out", is proof xtc is only on a greater rise! hehehe I mean really... Acid and X seem to be taken over the muzik scene. Forgive the pun, but it's like acid's effect on muzik is back, but it came back with a nifty lil friend, X. Can we say CANDY FLIP!!! <-- druggie joke
Luk @ vids like Christina Aguilera- Come on Over, that Janet Jackson song, Madonna's "Music". All are bright colored and visually stimulating, that would appeal to a good trip. And all have the light hearted, happy go luckyness to make a great roll, better.
Personally, I love xtc and would reccommend it to anyone with a shread of responsibilty, but acid is waaaayy different. That's xtremely powerful and only should be taken if the user feels they are ready for it. Oh, listen to me..., I can talk about drugs all night long if I don't watch it, heheee. I haven't used lsd since aug...., 10th I believe, and since, decided to quit using it, no particlular reason, it's just that if you get caught with acid, you're goin anyway, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You can't argue that you're using it for medical purposes, because there is NO medical purpose for it. Now, Mr.MDMA, he use to legal, and had a great medical purpose! But only became illegal with wide spread "misuse", I feel if the government hadn't been so badly embrassed by the rise of crack in the 80's, they wouldn't have came down soo hard on mdma (xtc). It's funny if you really think about it, no one died from xtc use until it became illegal in 1985. So, in my eyes, yet another problem caused by the government, I hate to sound like an MDMA activist, but if it wasn't illegal, you'd have no undeground labs pressing the pills, that could be possibly bad. You wouldn't have novice users popin the shyt and dying cause they didn't know what was happening to them. It's all about EDUCATION!!!
Not tryin to put the lid on another stimulate, when will the government learn not to try and cover things up?! Ya know, the ONLY reason X is a class A narcortic in this country, is because there's been no approved human testing..., Spain has approved testing on human subjects..., what the hell is the FDA for?!?? I mean, damn.., if they need volenteers, they can look my way!!
Sorry, I got carried away... I didn't think I had an opinion about all that. ::shrugs::

The other day I saw a couple people handing out revolutionary Marxist propaganda (thier words). I think they could have found a better place than an engineering campus.
David G.> <<I carry on correspondence with people in Belgum and South Africa (7 hours), and we get by>>: But then you aren't forced to stay on the same side of sunset/sunrise.
Fire Storm> <<I have been wanting to hear that again for years!>>: Where did you originally hear it? And would you reccommend anything else? I just picked up The Pandas Must Die, Americans, and Dolphin Boy.
<<I gotta see if I can find that site that has all the cool ads>>: Adcritic.com?
Winterwolf> <<If anyone is interested here is the answer key to my last math set 13 = 10>>: I like it.
Odd thought: What separates a clichéd character from an archetype?
Taleweaver> <<I dig quantum physics humor>>: Booh yah. I am fully convinced that I would be a Green Strange quark. And I know someone who would want to be a Red Beauty (using the English naming system).
Warpmind> <<if a talking horse is in charge of the archive>>: Mr. Ed is the horse. Mr. Rogers is the guy with the cardigan, shoes and neighborhood. But I was referring to the person credited as webmaster, to which email is to be sent regarding volunteers for recoding.
Recently you heard some interesting parodies of singning styles by Corky etc. Therefore, I bring (from a long distance) one of the parodied songs, 500 Miles by the Proclaimers.

Hi! Well another coworker is leaving at work and I know there is a second one that is going on interviews. It seems that working in the same place for a year is long enough and then it's time to move on. It sure seems that way where I am right now! So much for becoming accustomed to the workload! You'd think they would hire some new people already! Sheesh!
******PENDRAGON SPOILERS******
This was quite an involved episode. First I really enjoyed how this story included and tied together Arthur, Emrys, Mary, as well as various characters from London and the Caledonian Forest Clan. There were also a few reminders of the losses and effects of the Unseelie battle. The characterization and interaction between the various characters was excellent. I really liked fact that the gargoyle adolescents where involved in this and I think it gives a sense of realism to the London Clan. IMO it also adds to the rich tapestry of how things are in the London Clan, which seems to be very mysterious and suppressed in most of the stories. Interesting developments - Mary becoming a more feral wolf. This one is especially amusing to me! Gee I wonder why! LOL! It is nice that we have a problem that hasn't been easily solved and is apparently getting worse! Caspian's thoughts and moods as well as Rosalind's own will be interesting to watch develop in the upcoming story. The behavior and actions of the Gargoyle adolescents will be another interesting plot development. I'm particularly interested in Lucy, Dodger and Dorcas. I think they each have the greatest potential for character development based on the setup so far. The exchange between Brianna and Kylie is touching as well. Plus Pony-boy is really getting himself in trouble with Rosalind. The greeting he gets by Kirstie is priceless! I liked the character Tiberius too! You should be able to figure that one out without an explanation. ;) Dulcinea also got some good characterization. She seemed to just be a background character lately. Although that roll seems like it might be Rory's at the moment. Ratcliffe and Feldman on the other hand just didn't seem to come off very well in this story. With their ties to the Illuminati they should be able to cover their tracks better. I'm sure they'll be in better form in story at least in the beginning! ^_^ One other thing that was odd was how Emrys slipped back and forth in the story from Emrys to Merlin. It just felt a little odd so I thought I'd point it out.
Example:
>"That's right," Emrys said. "You and I really must be going."
Then the next time he does something:
> Giving the barest glance over his shoulder, Merlin said loudly, "Arthur? What are you playing on about?"
It almost goes without saying but I love the artwork! Of course when you consider who did it you know it's going to be great before you even get to it! ;) Absolutely awesome work by Christi Smith Hayden (Spike)!
Finally what a setup line for part 2! Line follows:
"There's nothing in these woods that can get the better of me."
Won't he be surprised! ^_^
That was fun. I should probably do this more often except for the fact that most of you that read will probably be asking me explain it because it doesn't make much sense! ;) Heaven help us when I start putting up my writings and ask people to read it! ^_^

Hey, all! First off, I've got to apologize to the Green Baron, and anyone else who was interested in pictures...I had a rough weekend back home, and never got to see my dad, so...I never got those pictures. I promise to send 'em, though, as soon as I can! Sorry about the delay. Let me know if you're interested in the identity of the Dame...
Green Baron> Still *loved* the pic ya sent...great robe. ;)
To all who wished me luck on tests> Thank you SO much! I passed my math test (YAY!!!) and I think I did okay on my other ones. Couldn't have done it without support! :)
Highlander: Endgame> Ya know, I finally got to see this movie...and I loved it! The only major complaint I had was with Duncan and Kate...if I remember right from the TV series, wasn't Duncan sort of cursed never to be married, which was why he felt so guilty about Tessa being killed after he had asked her to marry him? And no offense to Connor fans, but I've always thought he was weird anyway...glad to see good ol' Duncan in a movie. (Although wasn't the end fight scene freaky? I thought it was. Especially with the voices...) And the song at the end was beautiful, but I loved the version in the TV shows a whole lot better.
The movie needed more Methos, though. Much more Methos. He rules. Edge was also pretty cool, although he might have been on screen for a total of *maybe* two minutes. All I can say is...sequel with Duncan and Methos and Edge!! :)
Okay, without further ado...**The Dame whistles, and a large blond-haired blue-eyed half-garg flies into the room, crashing through one of the windows.**
Oops, Alex, ya've got to watch out for glass next time...
**The gargoyle whips out a box, then brushes off the dust on the Tea Table of Peace in the corner. Then he sets the box on the table and puts on a party hat. The Dame then opens the box, which has a large birthday cake inside!**
Happy Birthday, Coyote!!! **She passes around party hats to everyone in the room.** Hope you have a great one! :) Here, have some cake! **Alex quickly grabs a piece before diving back out the window. The Dame waves before disappearing into the shadows, and a "Happy Birthday Coyote" banner falls into the CR, along with tons of balloons to play with.**

Kit > you mean after all that fuss, she hasn't read the darn book yet? LOL. Hey, heard a radio ad today made me think of you guys ... I forget what company it was for, but it was about "Doug and Lisa" opening their wedding gifts and being all miffed because they kept getting appliances and china when they wanted camping and outdoor gear. Must've been REI or something. But it drew a grin!
Jackal > yup, it's true ... and usually the in utero hiccups commence just as mom is about to drift off to sleep ...
Cop stuff > I got to write the complaint letter. Co-worker Stan, after reading it, said, "Moral of this story -- never piss off a writer." Of course, now they'll have my name on file and when I have to call next time, in a more emergent situation, I can just see it ... "It's that woman who wrote us the bitchy letter! Let's take our time, huh?" :P

Todd - <<I really would prefer more detailed reviews>> Alright bu remember you asked for it :)
***********Spoilers for Pendragon**********
I'd originally intended to post reviews as new episodes came out but the insanity that is returning to University kept me too busy to post anything of any real substance. In case I run out of time I'm going to devide this review into 2 parts : The season so far over all and then next time I get a chance I'll post reviews of the individual episodes.
Enough introduction, on with the review!
First of all I'm greatly enjoying this season. So far the London bassed episodes have been IMO the best this season. It's nice to see some development on Rory and Briana, I'm hoping Kevin, Leba and especially Dulcinea will each get their own spotlight episodes in the future. Arhtur, Merlin and Mary's adventures are fun too, although they do remind me of Scooby-Doo. Think about it, a speaking canine, a blond kid who talks a lot and A brown haired guy who talks funny ;)
Molly Sefton: She is quite possibly my favorite new character this season (although, granted up until this week's episode there wasn't a lot of competition for the title). It's interesting to see the perspective of someone who, unlike the rest of Arhtur's supporting cast, didn't join him willingly, nor had any previous knowledge of the Earth's more fantastic elements. While her bickering with Merlin can sometimes wear thin more often than not I've found it entertaining. I hope she sticks around after this season is over. It would be interesting to see how she'd interact with Banshee, both of them are hanging out with Arthur's crew because they have no where else to go and both are stuck in forms that make their lives much harder than they have to be. I imagine they'd have a lot to talk about. Finally I hope she doesn't get cured of her werewolf-ness. Not only is it a clever twist on the traditional werewolf formula but it also gives Nigel Sefton a better reason to want Arthur caught beyond purely political reasons. I can't wait to see his response when he finds out "The Connection" has kidnapped his daughter.
This brings me to a concern I've had about the Arhtur-on-the-run plotline. Aside from interrogating Colin Marter Braddock and Winslow don't seem to be doing much to find Arhtur. So far all Arhtur & Co.'s problems with the law have amounted to is them periodically hiding when they see a police officer/car/etc. or people who might recognize Arthur (as in this week's episode). I don't recall any mention of news reports about Arhtur or a police manhunt. I really don't feel that Arhtur or the knights are in any danger of being caught, especially since the cast has yet to have any real confrontation with the police. Thus far Morgana's frame job feels like an excuse to get Arthur on the road so he can meet more magical creatures. Will the Police be stepping up their pursuit of Arthur later on in the season?
Speaking of Morgana, I was pleasantly suprised to find out she was the architect of Arthur's problems. I'd initially suspected her but dismissed the idea because it seemed too obvious. Kudos to the TGS staff.
Well that's pretty much it for Part 1, well except taht like I said before I hope Merlin meets up with Nimue this season.
Thanks for your attention

PENDRAGON: "ON HOLIDAY" PART ONE
***Further comments. SPOILERS may follow.***
Spike: Well eleven or twelve is a hefty addition all at once, don't you think? And I added in that bit about 'and minor characters' (or whatever I said) to disclaim myself. :) Dire memory and all that.
Two other nice touches I forgot, btw: the Super Cyborg Assault Armadillo things and Brock's mention of Graeme's internet link with Lucy. Not big stuff, but sweet. :)

WARPMIND > Actually, I dunno if it will be remastered, since I never saw how the original one looked... but I'm certain they'll have it spruced up for the screens.
SAILOR MOON > Speaking of which, did anyone catch today's episode?!? Not only was it a continuation of the Dark Circus Series (got to love the Amazon Trio), but to my shock and surprise, they actually SHOWED SAILOR CHIBI(aka Mini) MOON'S ORIGINAL TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE! Now tell me, did they just have a lapse in the sensor department, or did someone over at CWI and Toonami finally grow a brain? :)

Stephen Sobotka: Oooo, Drunken Master is hitting (pun intended) the Big Screen in the US? Sounds fun! Will it be a completely remastered version, or just a re-release of the original? (While on the subject... reckon "Shaolin Wooden Men" will be remastered, ever?)
Daphne: May I recommend random acts of sabotage against that teacher of yours? ;) Seriously, though, isn't there someone you can complain to about her?
Gside: Mr. Rogers is in charge of the code? Um... if a talking horse is in charge of the archive, I suddenly find it a LOT less surprising the code is so impractical... ;)
SJ: The guy who bumped into Stephen King is dead? Hmmm... *ponder* maybe just as well it was Stephen King he nearly killed, then, and not, say, Dean Koontz... while King is plain ol' scary, Koontz can *really* scare the <Censored> out of ya with his scientific stuff... ];) From the article, it isn't clear what killed the guy, either...
Fire Storm: The URL? Sure; just click my name. I found it by accident - searched on a fic title in Altavista; found the very file itself... :| Oh, and it was *I* who supplied Gside with the MP3. :)

***BUFFY SPOILERS***
I watched Angel last night and thought it was good. Taped Buffy and just watched it now. Thought it bit.
I did like some parts: Spike's monologue on how Dracula's fame effected other vampires, Xander's Sesame Street line, and Buffy's "fanboy" line regarding vamps who've called themselves Lestat.
The rest was mediocre, at best. It seems the only reason they brought in Drac was for the sake of a cliche-fest, like Rahsaan says. There was no story worth telling. I couldn't help but think, if this had been a TGS episode, we would've thought of an interesting angle for introducing him.
Also, the part at the end where Buffy repeatedly stakes him annoyed me. For one, it just felt jarring, like the directing was off or something. For another, I was severely disappointed that Drac had been staked in the first place, and _wanted_ him to come back. Ironic that Buffy pokes fun at the cliche of the villain always returning from the dead, but it's done it all the time in the past. Why, who was JUST brought back from the dead over in "Angel"?

PENDRAGON: 'ON HOLIDAY' PART ONE
***Post contains SPOILERS***
A quick glance at the room suggests that this episode has been fairly well-received so I don't feel as bad stepping in to say that I didn't like it that much. Not to say that it didn't have brilliant parts, mind you. Particularly outstanding was the development on Mary and Emrys, and the doubts that some people have over Jane Nelson. Lucy had a few nice moments too. But the biggest problem I had was the number of characters. The ridiculous number of characters.
With the initial disclaimer that I have a bad memory, and the additional provisor that this is really our first contact with either the London or Caledonian clans this season, I had really hoped that we might have been left a few hints as to who all the characters were. At least, we might have seen them introduced GRADUALLY. I reckon there were at least twenty new or minor characters in there. At any rate, it was more than enough to confuse me.
As I say though, I loved the sections with Kylie and Mary, Emrys' sullen and awkward personality (done far more awkward and IMO far better than previous episodes). But whereas previous episodes this season had a plot which was fascinating in itself but didn't require note-taking, sharp memory or lengthy study to follow fully, I always felt like I was missing something here. Probably quite a lot. So I guess in a way it's my fault as much as it is the writer for my own not following it, but I really don't have the time (or energy) to look more closely at the stories at present. I'm not suggesting that the stories should be simplified to destruction so that they can be read in a spare half hour of course. But I'd really appreciate it if writers could keep the number of characters on stage or discussed at a time only as high as is necessary.
Brilliant art, btw, Christi. And still some very nice stuff in there.

Hi all,
Since everyone else is weighing in on Buffy and Angel and I have a couple of minutes to spare, I hought I'd toss in my comments.
****Buffy Spoilers****
Buffy> I had a lukewarm reaction to this to. Xander and giles made me laugh, but Dracula has so much myth and mythos about him it was hard to get at any story through all the cliches. I loved Xander's first encounter with Drac. "One...Two...Three victims ahahah." but if Buffy can blow him off with typical 90's smart-mouthery, why not Xander? I hope this is the last time Xander is the 'buttmonkey' as he puts it. Overall the episode was good, but lack of a really challenging story kept it from being great.
*****Angel Spoilers*****
Angel> The opening gambit was good. I sat up in the couch say "Looks like they've got their act together" Overall, the story really delivered on depth on Angel and his mission of redemption.
That said, I know why Angel develops the dark, brooding, 'I'm-so-tortured-please-love' air. Because once you see a man do karaoke or dance so weird version of 'electric boogaloo' it's hard to respect them. I wonder if Buffy would have thrown herself at Angel if she saw him like this first.
I knew karaoke was evil, but not demonic. (I will give points to Tenchi Universe though. Washu putting the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle into a karoke number was hilarious, but then again I dig quantum physics humor)
It seems that Angel was good overall, but lacking details, while Buffy was good at point, but weak overall.
My prediction is that Dawn is the next Slayer to be called. No real reason, just a random thought.
Well, my two minutes are up. Catch you on the flipside.

Thank you very much for the lovely comments on "On Holiday" -- I just hope Part 2 lives up to your expectations! (And believe it or not, this was supposed to be a one part story -- it grew on me.)
Todd>> Thanks for the origins of Dorcas' name -- I did not know that! Actually, I derive most of my names for the London clan from English literature -- Dorcas, Dodger, Agnes, Weller, Pickwick and Copperfield are from Dickens; Lucy, Caspian, and Aslan are from C.S. Lewis; Beatrix are from Beatrix Potter (my son's nursery done in Peter Rabbit); and Musgrave is from Real Musgrave, creator of Pocket Dragons.
Kitaina>> I can safely say that Caspian is NOT using magic on Rosalind; back in "My Lady Fair," he admits to Una that magic is no good in affairs of the heart. His horn glows for an entirely different reason.... to revealed in Part 2. For a clue, you have to go back to something Merlin says about magic-users in "Night of the Weird."
Caspian's Snapshots>> Since Caspian carries a camera, I thought it would be funny to have a few candid vacation snaps as a change from my regular illustrations. Rosalind took the one of Cas and Lucy. (I can relate to Caspian -- I've had the same discussion with my son and his dog!)
"My Side of the Mountain" by Jean George has always been one of my favorite children's books and I still have my old copy in hopes of the boys discovering the same magic in it that I did.

KITAINA - Yes, Dorcas is a real name. It shows up in the Bible (Acts 9:36) as the name of a woman in the early Christian community at Joppa who was raised from the dead by Peter. (She was also named Tabitha - which sounds a bit similar to "tabby" - which may be what inspired Spike to give that name to the character in "On Holiday").

Oops, wrong color. Heh. Oh well.
Here's Part 2. For Part 1, see below.
Emmabu: Man, what a crazy accident. <shakes head> I cannot believe all that happened, thank goodness all was eventually resolved. Strange world we live in indeed. Full of crazy people. :) You're welcome on the well-wishes, thanks again for your encouragement and well-wishes to me and Doug. Congrats on the good weekend you had with the choir, and if I haven't said so before, on getting in too. :)
Calliope: Congrats on getting through that first test, good luck with the others. Doug and I envy you for the progress you've made through the round so far. :)
Daphne: That teacher indeed deserves your ranting. Hope you can get things straightened out soon, sorry to hear you did so badly on the test. :(
**BUFFY, ANGEL SPOILERS**
Catchy beginnings to both seasons, I have to say. :) Buffy had its lame moments- Dracula was one big lame-o pretty much IMO, but then he was supposed to be, so I can ignore that. Just wish Xander had made a better Renfield. For once I actually didn't laugh at the jokes he made. :( Good character development bits throughout the ep with Buffy and Giles, not so much with the others though they did have good character scenes. Particularly enjoyed the Spike & Riley one. Dracula didn't make the best villain, I thought, but he was dark and creepy at times. It was just overdone a bit too much. <sighs> I agree that the scenes with Buffy killing him again and again were hilarious. And it was interesting that he knew Buffy's powers better than she did. Can hardly wait for what happens next with that. As for Dawn, well, she seems like she may be somewhat entertaining- she and Buffy definitely have the same thing Stephanie and I do going on, and that should be fun to watch. Heheh. Looking forward to how things develop with the two of them next week and finding out exactly where Buffy's sister has been hiding all these years. Hope Xander stops getting dumped on soon too, Mandi's not the only one here who likes him a lot. :)
As for Angel, well, it was good too. Better than Buffy in many ways, like last season. <sigh> The new title sequence wasn't as good as Buffy's (loved all the great scenes in that one BTW) but still good to see Gunn in there. The Buffyverse has always needed a token black guy. Particularly since they killed off Kendra and Forrest. :( Catchy opening, much more so than Buffy's was. It was funny, and not just spooky. Heh. Nice to see Wesley on the social scene and Cordelia improving her acting skills. Nice to see her relationship with Dennis developing also. :) The demon karaoke bar was of course hilarious, especially when Angel went on stage. Definitely keeping the tape of that scene. LOL! All the demons had good singing scenes actually, particularly liked how the first one had a montage of events playing alongside it. Good job developing the villains in this ep too. Darla reminded me of Drusilla a little, but then she acquired her own menace. Lilah and Lindsay were also very good in their bits, hope we'll soon see exactly what kind of new hand Lindsay's got. Great fight between Angel and the good demon, and Joss did a great job on the writing in the scene that was its surprising result. Very nice also to see our heroes dealing with a terrible mistake- their astonishment and guilt was very well-conveyed. The demon informant made a hilarious character also, especially liked Angel's interaction with him a lot. Ditto with the karaoke bar owner. As for Gunn, his opening scene in the story was excellent. Funny too. :) So was his scene of meeting with Cordelia and Wesley- great line from her about a demon with a gun. :) Good to see him developed also- his interaction with Angel was in top form just like last season. <grin> The ep also had a great plot and good pacing (like the Pendragon story this week), and a script I hope they will equal in quality many times in upcoming eps. Nice imagery and symbolism in the scene where Angel explores the good demon's residence. The pregnant woman made a good and interesting character also- somewhat surprising for a victim in this show, it's been a while since we've had someone like her in the Buffyverse. <sigh> As for the demon knight, he was appropriately dark and menacing. As was the Tribunal. Great entrance for Angel in the scene with them, and the joust between him and the demon knight was an excellent fight scene too. Loved the camera angles. Definitely dug all the surprising developments in the episode. Especially the one at the end- I thought we'd never see her again. Good to have her back, very good. <grins> Nice development too, hope to see more of her in the future. And great preview for next week- can hardly wait to see what develops with that. Especially with the scary-looking villain. :) The only disappointment of this ep was I didn't find any disappointments. Which was great. That's all I have to say about that.
**SPOILERS END**
SJ: The guy who ran over Stephen King is mysteriously dead? Spooky indeed. :) I wonder what happened, hope we soon know. Thanks for mentioning it in here. I disagree with you about Dragonheart, I liked it a lot except for the lame villain and lack of kissing. But that's just me, you're entitled to your opinion too. Thanks for the Buffy spoilers also, looking forward to seeing how they play out in the episodes ahead.
One thing I must ask before I end this post- has anyone seen or heard from Rodlox lately? I only ask because last week Doug asked him an RP-related question that he should have answered if he was lurking in the CR at all. And if he's not here…well, that's worrisome since he's a friend of ours and all. If anyone knows where he is or how to get in touch with him, please let us know. In the meantime, we'll keep moving the story of his characters ahead in the RP- we're intrigued enough by them to do that without him. Just hope he comes back soon and gives us license (or not, in which case we'll immediately stop. The next bit with them will occur in Doug's next post early Friday morning, hopefully Rodlox, if he's still out there, will have responded to the query posed last week by then. <hint, hint>
That's about all for this post- I must get some sleep before work tomorrow. Everyone have decent rest tonight, hope Doug and I do too. See you next week, and later!
**RESUME RP- RAVENS' SAGA**
The screen comes back on, displaying a frustrated-looking Thailog seated at a meeting table with his lieutenants. "So the planes sent after the Ravens have all been destroyed, General?" he asks Zale, who called the meeting. Zale nods. "Yes sir, I'm afraid so. After their pilots failed to report in, I sent a team to the planes' homing beacons' transmission location, and they found a lot of debris and ashes. No sign that they got the Ravens, the pilots are probably all dead. And we lost some damn good hardware." Thailog growls out a sigh. "Did you get the flight data recorders?" Zale nods. "The comm boys are going over them right now." "Alright," Thailog replies, grimacing. "We will have to think up some new plan to take care of the Ravens." "Sir?" Zale frowns. "Uh, with all due respect, I think we oughta just let them be and concentrate on other things. They're not exactly concentrating on us right now- my spy tells me they're distracted by something going on in Atlanta with Ted Turner, probably the same thing Nipon's investigating. We should concentrate on other plans while they're distracted." "No!" Thailog snaps. "We will eliminate them now, before they become a problem again. We can go after them and still work on the main plan." Zale shrugs and nods, still grimacing. "What about those intruders?" Thailog asks him. "My soldiers were still looking last I checked," Zale answers. "I'll see if they've found anything yet." "My imps have probably already found and eliminated them," says Kharsus. "They were given the command." "A command I did not tell you to give," Thailog snaps. "Don't do that again." Kharsus nods, though his expression says he doesn't really care. Thailog turns to Donna. "The security system?" "Stephen and the others are working on it," she answers. "They'll have it back up in another three hours, tops." "Get it up quickly, we need it now," Thailog growls. She nods. "I'll have them do their best. Perhaps we can have Edison clone a few hackers to help speed things up. By the way, I notice Gar isn't present at this meeting." Grimacing, Thailog nods. "He was called to come. Perhaps he needs to be reminded who is in charge." "I'll take care of it, sir," says Dahak. "Do that," Thailog nods. "You are all dismissed for now, get the intruder problem settled and then resume working on the plan. Send in those people who wanted a job interview on your way out." The lieutenants nod and rise from their seats.
"So you're going to kill that cleric Orion?" Jerry Bennet is saying elsewhere with a sinister grin, eyeing the demon Tanith lustfully with his red-rimmed eyes. "I believe you could do it." "You better," Geburah laughs. "I've trained her for it these past few years. She is looking very forward to completing her mission." "Yes I am," Tanith agrees, angrily clenching her fist and letting her eyes burn. "Once I believed the pap about harming none and letting all things do as they wilt, but then the world showed me that philosophy was ridiculous. I follow a more realistic viewpoint these days." "Good to hear it," Galante says. "We'll of course be happy to have the aid of you both in the upcoming battle. We've learned the Ravens will meet tomorrow at the Mall of America through divination spells. Pastor John Gould, my esteemed associate, has gathered many enemies of theirs from the dimension known as RL, and should be arriving with them later tonight. In addition, we will have the forces here, and some backup forces I shall recruit if it becomes necessary. They are already gathered at a site close to the Mall for the time when they will be needed. Once John and his associates get here, we can begin discussing the plan for how we can attack the Mall. Are you bringing in anyone else, Geburah?" "Not to the strategy session," the cornugon replies, giving Tanith a cold smile as she barely pays attention to the talk, instead humming a mad tune and closing her eyes in rapture. Jerry continues staring at her with lust. "Lady Synatia has allowed me the use of a Goroistro if we need to demolish the place, but otherwise what we have here and what is coming should be sufficient." "Good," Galante nods, checking his watch. "Now if John would just arrive…" Suddenly there is the noise of a loud screech from outside and the demons all turn their eyes towards it. "Go check that out!" Galante commands the githyanki troops, and the bald male in shining armor and red-haired female in thin loose white silk robes commanding them order three warriors to rush outside and do so. Geburah looks on with a frown as he does this, while Tanith, seemingly engrossed in her own madness, continues to ignore everything but the tune she is humming and the points of her long nails. Outside the window, Shauna curses the rat she accidentally startled as it runs away screeching and does her best to steal away into the shadows. She didn't hear all of the demons' plan but what she did hear has been enough to make her heart beat significantly faster. It leaps in her chest when a hand falls on her shoulder halfway to the edge of the motel parking lot. "Ssh!" Shap hisses as she turns around and sighs in relief. "I thought you were asleep," Shauna gasps. "I'm a good faker," the paladin grins back. "Luckily for you. We better get out of here, girl. A lot more eyes able to notice you are about to arrive on the premises." He points to a line of cars and pickup trucks approaching the motel. Several of their drivers are driving in an unsafe manner that makes it look like they're drunk, and nearly all the vehicles are sporting Peeing Calvin or other obscene stickers. At the very back is a wreck of a car that seems like it's barely able to drive, making lots of thumping and crackling noises as Holder tries to push it along. The hellhound in the back of one pickup begins to bark as Shauna nods at Shap and they quickly run for the safety of their own motel room across the street. Pastor John and the githyanki looking for them do not spot them, and the vehicles begin muscling for space around the demon-inhabited motel and causing a huge traffic jam as they compete over the most convenient spaces while the screen goes blank.

"Boss!" the male of the two caiveh thugs Kovu and Tiara has left is yelling as the screen comes on. "Saran is dead! Tomas is dead! They're all dead! We gotta get out of here, sir! These humans are just too tough!" Kovu turns to face him with a growl, but Tiara is quicker and backhands him across the face, causing the female thug to gasp and the male to wince. "No more of that," Tiara snaps. "Remember, we are superior!" "And we can beat them," Kovu adds with a chuckle. "I know this mine. You two stay here and distract them, Tiara and I will use another tunnel to sneak around and hit them from behind." The two thugs grimace but nod. On their side of the cavern, Gubio looks at his teammates and sees that they've all reloaded. "Okay," he says. "Let's do it this way. Mist, you and Terrell lay down cover fire. Erin and I will circle around and try to hit their flank. Annabelle, you…" "I'm staying down here," Terrell's mate cuts in. "That rolling pin was my only weapon, I'm not much good without it." "Just be spotter for us," Terrell says, and she nods. "They're behind that pillar formation over there," Erin declares, cocking her assault rifle and wincing in pain as she does so. Gubio looks at her with concern and she shakes her head. "I'm alright, just still feeling the wound. I'm more worried about my family." Gubio nods, though his face shows he wonders why. Mist meows, and he nods again. "Okay, let's finish this so we can get back to them then," he says, cocking his pistol and readying a grenade. "Careful with that," Terrell cautions him. "Tiara's nearly caused a cave-in." Gubio nods and puts the explosive away. Erin gives him a smile of encouragement and they then get ready to rush the formation as the two remaining thugs reload and prepare to commit to their end of the battle. Kovu and Tiara have already headed out to try circling around. Above the group in the Underground City, Bessus continues to tell a surprised and angry-looking Vincent of the events that have been going on so far.
Meanwhile, as the door of the Bey family's apartment hits the ground and the flesh golem retracts its fist, the four family members present gasp in shock. "Take them!" Jazeem orders his golem, which steps forward only to be intercepted by an angry-looking Lloky. "No you don't!" she snaps. "Protected by Dragon, Do Not Enter!" The golem barely seems to react to her challenge, instead simply drawing back its fist and hitting Lloky hard in the face before she can move to block it. Patty screams as Lloky crumples unconscious to the floor. "What do you want?" Fasil snaps at Jazeem and the golem. "Who are you?" Mary meanwhile tries to comfort their daughter while Hassan looks on, frozen in fear. "An associate of your cousin Abdullah," Jazeem replies. "Come with me quietly and there'll be no trouble." "Never!" Fasil replies angrily, Mary nodding in agreement with a grim look. Jazeem shakes his head, holding up a hand to halt the golem. With his other hand he fires a lightning bolt into the apartment TV, destroying it in a burst of smoke. "You are next unless you comply." "And I said we will not comply!" Fasil retorts, drawing a Desert Eagle from his belt and firing it several times at Jazeem. The bullets hit an invisible shield and the sorcerer shakes his head. "Have it your way." With that he fires another lightning bolt and hits Fasil, causing him to fall over stunned. "Dad!" Hassan screams, rushing at Jazeem as Patty screams again and Mary gasps in shock. The golem steps into Hassan's path and knocks him out with two quick blows. Jazeem gives it a nod of thanks, then turns to the two Bey women, who look shocked beyond belief. "Are you two going to come quietly or end up like them?" the sorcerer asks with a sneer. Then he gasps in shock and falls over, a large knife jutting from the small of his back. "Hello," the short darkhaired teenage girl with pouty features wearing expensive Gucci clothing who stuck it in him declares as he collapses. "My name is Sarita Montoya. You do not threaten my boyfriend and his family if you want to live." As Jazeem moans in pain, bleeding heavily, and the golem turns to face her, Sarita gets into a Luchador stance. And the screen goes blank.
**END FIRST BIT OF THIS POST'S RP**
Hi everybody. Did everyone have a good weekend? Doug and I had a very quiet one, which was good- we needed it desperately. :) Thanks to those who gave their congrats on the event that made this so, and their encouragement beforehand. <smiles at GXB> I checked on how the results of that were going yesterday, and it seems Lorna's working out a plea bargain too. God bless that process. Her sentencing's tomorrow, and Doug and I can't go to it as we have work, but the manager of the Tower where I work (who's pressing the shoplifting charges) will be there and let us know how it goes. Hope she gets as many years as she deserves. :) It's a different judge than it was for Gus, so I can't make many assurances. But I can hope. <sigh> Not much else has been happening in Doug's and my lives lately. We have our first round of tests coming up next week, hope we have good luck with them. School and our bosses are working us to the bone, as usual. We saw one good movie on Friday- Almost Famous. I had to admit I wasn't too excited about this film at first when I saw its previews- it looked like a bigtime mass of clichés waiting to happen. In some ways, it was, but after seeing it I must also say that Cameron Crowe has scored another masterpiece. Good script and plot (though I wish the latter had had a little more closure on a few things), excellent acting from Kate Hudson and Billy Crudup as well as Fairuza Balk (who was IMO hilarious in the film), and nice touches of realism and emotion as well as personality driving things. The main character's actor (forget his name) wasn't very good (though he did do good with personality and script bits where it was required for him to act a certain way, I thought it seemed too much like acting, and Anna Paquin's talent was IMO wasted, but those are small complaints. Go see this film if you get the chance, the scenes with Russell alone make it worth the price of admission if you're (like me) the kind of girl who enjoys seeing cute guys going crazy. :) On to replies.
Politics: Forgive me if I'm not in the mood to comment on this too much, I usually don't pay too much attention to politics- especially not during an election year, as some of the things that go on tend to make me shake my head and grumble more than smile proudly. Doug said enough last week anyway, we know who we're voting for. And if he doesn't win, we'll deal with it. Just hope Bush does if he doesn't- like Jannie's said, there are some good things about the man. He has a nice wife too. And IMO anybody would be better than Mr. Gore. <growls> We need a President who's honest and true to himself, desperately. Bush might not be that, but at least he's closer than Gore is. To avoid losing my temper and dragging out old redundant arguments again, I will say no more about that.
Jaden: Good luck getting Internet access in Korea, we'll understand and miss you a lot if you don't get it, but we would like it if you did. :) Of course, Internet access is only one thing. Finding the time to actually get online is another. I know from experience so far this semester it can be quite difficult. <sigh> Good luck to you in your pursuit of it in the Army- hope your drill sergeant digs Gargs. :) Congrats on the new laptop regardless of what you are able to do with it in upcoming months.
Guandalug: You ain't whistling Dixie about huge groups of people being a pain on the roads. Especially when they all want parking space close to a particular thing. People waiting for other cars to clear out of spaces they want, caring nothing about the congestion they cause and all the cars behind them, tick Doug and me off something fierce. <sighs> But unfortunately we have to deal with them, even though we're the type who usually park far away from the store or wherever we're going so there's less chance of our car getting hit or trapped, and then walk.
SOROW: Congrats on getting your e-mail working, I bet that feels good. Doug and I have been having problems with ours lately, as he detailed last week. Still trying to decide on a permanent name for the new one. Glad that the talent show audition and football game went well too, hope things continue to be exciting for you in your life. Let me know if they're not, and I'll do my best to bring cheer. :)
Jannie: Welcome back, great to see you in here again! Hope your daughter has good luck with the new path she's chosen for herself and that it helps build her character in the necessary ways. I too sympathize with your attitude about her- it's unfortunate that things are that way, but not your fault it's so. Good luck with those new kids in your class, it sounds like they seriously need discipline. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you are able to handle them in the months ahead. Try using the principal as a backup babysitter if things get too much for you- the revenge for what she's done to you over the years should be well worth it. :)
Revel: Interesting question about gargs and color-blindness. I too wonder about the answer. Maybe it would spark intriguing discussion if you posted that bit in the main CR. I was surprised it didn't get any response till now in here. You know, Greg is color-blind too, or so Doug has told me. Hmm. :)
Tests: Hmm, according to the ones we've taken, Doug and I are both Independent Helpers dedicated to hunting down and finding missing children. Strange. 92% compatible with each other, too. As if we needed further proof we were meant to be together. Oh well, I shouldn't say more about it. That wouldn't do good for my being only 53% Bitch.
GXB: Like I said above, thanks very much for the encouragement. It was appreciated (and as things turned out, right :). Nice sword you got on eBay, glad it didn't set you back too much. Congrats on getting out of your dead-end job, good luck with the next one (and in the meantime, with school).
Mandi: Glad your talent show went well too, even if the person who you thought deserved awards the most didn't get them. <sighs> Not all contests can be like Olympic Diving was this year. Nevertheless, I'm glad things did not go badly. Hope to soon be seeing your pics.
Batman Beyond: I saw that Royal Flush gang episode too, and liked it. The other two new episodes so far this season haven't been that great IMO, their plots were pretty predictable except for the excellent use of the incidental character Kenny in Payback. But that ep was really good with nice character bits on all sides. I do kinda wish we'd seen an elderly Catwoman in the episode like I first thought we might when I saw Paxton's aide's appearance, given what the RFG had stolen and all. But we didn't, and that's okay too. Just hope we do find out whatever happened to Catwoman someday (and the Joker, and Robin, and Nightwing, and so many other characters. The writers should be paying more attention to them instead of dealing with one-shot villain eps like the static teens. <sigh>).
Taleweaver: Fine, cackle away. I'll be waiting for that episode. <grins> Congrats on your Jeopardy spot, I wish you luck.
Jenna: Sorry to hear about what happened with the car, glad you got it back. Hope you are able to get it off your hands soon- better luck with the next one. <shakes head> Too bad you don't live here. At least if our apartments tow somebody's car by mistake, they credit the impound fees against our next rent check. But not in your place…:(
Niamhgold: Congrats on the new job, hope it goes well but doesn't keep you too busy. Like Doug, I am eagerly looking forward to reading and enjoying your next fic. :)
Winterwolf: We're glad things are getting better too. Hope they stay that way. And as for a book, well, if some company ever wants us to write and publish one, they'd have to pay us pretty well. And they'd have to agree to publish all of Christine's work too before we could even begin negotiations. :)
Christine: The Men's Diving has indeed been great on the Olympics. Not as good as the Women's though. There's a lot to be said for seeing a former UT student climb the board with a broken foot, execute some stunning moves, and then win the well-deserved gold. :) Glad that trespasser didn't cause too much trouble and you were able to take care of him. You are certainly within your rights to file a formal complaint with the police about the little they did about him. <shakes head> Don't worry, I'll get my comments to you on Dark of the Elvenwood as soon as I can. So far I think it's been a very good book and I've enjoyed it a lot. Hope to keep doing so. Right now I can hardly wait to see what new facet of the scheme Solarrin thinks up next. :) As for Stephanie, well, I'll try to get her to send you comments soon, but I don't know if I'll succeed. Just yesterday I asked her what she thought of the book so far, and she nonchalantly said she hadn't had time to start reading her copy yet. Sometimes I just want to smack my sister. <growls>
Happy Birthday Coyote! Hope that it goes well, and that many more good ones are waiting on the road ahead. :)
<moment of silence for Kelly of the Mini-Clan> May her memory live on forever in the hearts of her friends. Moment of silence for Daphne's teacher as well. <sniffs>
**PENDRAGON SPOILERS**
The latest story "On Holiday pt. 1" definitely gets a 9.9/10 from me. The writing was excellent, with great development on the various characters and nice dialogue and scene bits from them all too. The illustrations were wonderfully done, especially the hilarious first one. I think I laughed as hard as I did at it because of an experience a few years ago when the stray dog Stephanie took in (who eventually became our family pet until his death of old age about six years back) knocked Ray into the pool- you could have put the two of them in Caspian and Lucy's places in that scene easily. Heh. Just put a backpack full of sopping wet homework over his shoulder to increase the irritation. :) The new characters are all very interesting, especially the young Londoners. I liked Dodger, Prongs, and Tiberius the best, as they seemed the most intriguing and fleshed out. Dorcas was nice too- it's good to see Lucy with a foil and she has a perfect name for her character (Is Dorcas a real name? Somehow I'm not sure I could believe it :). Winston, Musgrave, and Agnes were entertaining to watch in action too, even if they did seem like a bit of the cliched fat kid, worry-wart, and nice girl at times. Liked the development on them all, particularly in the "roughing it" scenes. Thanks to Spike for posting the pic of them last week, it helped with visualization. Also liked what was done with Caspian and Rosalind- while I'm really not that pleased by his use of magic to make her love him, the reactions and story potential (as well as possible developments) when she finds out (as she should!) will make for a very intriguing and entertaining story- thus I can forgive. :) His bits with Kirstie and the potential love triangle should also be interesting to watch play out. <grin> Lancelot was also a very intriguing new character, too bad we won't be seeing more of him in upcoming episodes. :( Hope to see the exact scene of what happened to him (and the others involved in the Caledonian Clan's last battle with the Unseelie) someday. Good bits with the London Clan adults too, Michael got some nice developments in his interaction with Griff concerning Brianna and Jane especially. Can't wait to see if anything more is done with that little bit. :) And I liked what was done with Perry, Brock, and Amanda too. The Caledonians were likewise nicely developed- I enjoyed seeing Quaid as the hesitant leader and Kylie as the elder who knows her time is close and wants to leave many good memories behind- and she has. :) Great pic of her and Brianna, can't help but wonder if they're related in some way. Enjoyed the bits with Arthur, Mary, and Merlin as well- Nice to see her adapting to things about her other self- the enhanced senses and so on. Hope they come in handy many times in future stories, and keep sponsoring intriguing developments. The fact that she is becoming more wolf-like in personality should sponsor some great future development and stories as well- can hardly wait to see what's done with that. Excellent bits of foreshadowing also with Merlin's connection to the Caledonian area, and of course I was laughing out loud at the jokes in the scene where they come upon Rory and the horse. It was entertaining seeing Feldman, Ratcliffe, and the Illuminati involved in things again too- the two louts don't exactly make the best villains but their witty banter was nicely written and well-done. In fact, good job on the dialogue all throughout the story. And kudos to Spike on melding an interesting overall plot with several smaller and equally intriguing subplots. Great imagery with the forest, beasts, and train too. Really appreciated the My Side of The Mountain reference, that's among the many good books I've hoped TGS would one day plug. :) The only thing I didn't like about this story was that it's only Part 1. Now I have to wait impatiently for Part 2 next week. <sighs> Oh well, I'm looking forward to it. Hope it's equally good.
**THESE SPOILERS END**
That good enough for you, Todd? :) End Part 1 of catch-up post.

Hey Everyone! Happy Tuesday! Only 3 more days left till the weekend (unless your weekend happens to be Fri/Sat like mine, then only 2 more days! YAAAHH!)
Emambu..>actually, I don't think I even noticed the typos. Is what I get for reading it 30 mins after you posted it. :)
Emambu & Gside..>thanks for your comments on the web page. Glad you thought it looked good visually. *hugz*
Winterwolf..> Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It's a GREAT coaster! If you manage to make to to the Gathering next summer in LA, I'm sure that you'll get a chance to go to Six Flags, as it's not all that far away from where the convention will be held. I'm sure that if enough people are interested, something could be arranged like for G2K, an unofficial Gargoyle day at one of the local attractions. Although I'm guessing it will be at Universal Studios as the hotel is right there at US. The Six Flags web page is supposed to have a "virtual ride" video for Goliath, but I've not been able to get it to come up yet. (I put a link to the park on the pic of the coaster)
Okay, that's it for now. Time to go back to watching Olympic coverage. Yipppeee! US Women's Volleyball beats Korea!

Sorry about this...
Warpmind: <GFW>
Ok... maybe having the directory you got would be a good idea.
The one I found is from the older GFW. I think anyway. It has dates for August 2000, but not all the new files. (Under the directorty for my stuff it only shows a few files. Maybe it the older DIRECTORY files are there...)
Bonnieway, it looks fun! And it definately appears that the error's are in the code, not the file structure.
Quick fix, it looks easy.
Long term... I have no idea.

Hi! Well as usual work has been keeping me busy but I've adjusted to it pretty much completely! The only big news I have is my best friend from high school is getting married October 14th. The wedding is in Champaign Urbana, which lies between Chicago and Indianapolis. This means I'll be out touring from 10/12 - 10/15 on the off chance anyone might miss my posts! ;)
Jannie> <Mini Clanners> My heart goes out to you and everyone that knew Granite (Kelly). I know it is difficult when you lose anyone but it is especially difficult when it is someone so young! My condolences to you and all the Mini Clanners, may she live on in your memories of her.
Katara> <web page> Nice job! It looks great! That looks like a roller coaster I would like to get on! :) It also reminds me how much more I want to add to my own web site!
Pendragon> No spoilers here. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the story and see excellent potential for the conclusion! Great job to the entire staff that worked on it! ^_^
Emambu> <story> love the car story! Would make a killer comedy skit! LMAO! <chili> **eats a tiny spoonful and starts crying** lol I don't know. I don't have a low tolerance but it isn't high either. From how you describe it I probably couldn't handle the chili! ;) <personality test> It was one of the ones on the first or second page I believe. I'd have to check but it was one of those could go either way type questions. <Dreamie and Winterwolf> No comment. ;) <getting to do a solo> So I guess the question is when do you plan on getting some professional training? Although, maybe you don't need it! ^_^
Caliope> **Hugz** <test> By now it is all over and done with! One down and many more to go! ^_^
DPH> You know at first glance it is more insane but it is also highly structured. The addition part is (2n+1) + (2n+1) where n is the last number set. First n = 0 then n = 1 then n = 3 then n = 7 then n = 15. The second part is 2^6 - 1 then 2^7 - 1 then 2^8 - 1 then 2^9 - 1 then 2^10 - 1. Interestingly if you subtract out the left side and take mod 10 of what is left you always get 1! Cool huh! If anyone is interested here is the answer key to my last math set 13 = 10. :)
Daphne> <test> That is mean! I've had that experience so I know how cheated you feel! **shakes his head** Unfortunately it looks like a no win situation. :(
FireStorm> <parents> That's sounds like sad news. I take it the news wasn't exactly unexpected?
Happy Birthday to Coyote, Pogo, Wolf-Marian and Wraith!
Okay. That's it for tonight. Good night everybody!

Fire Storm: You apparently have never seen or heard Gilbert Gottfried do his impression of Dracula. Most of the time it sounds just like a dead-on impersonation of Martin Landau in Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" ("Home? I have no home!"). It's hilarious. He's done it quite a few times before, often on Stern.
Jackal: Here's an article on the driver:
Autopsy Slated for Driver Who Struck Stephen King
September 25, 2000 1:47 pm EST
PORTLAND, Maine (Reuters) - Horror writer Stephen King said on Monday he was sorry about
the untimely death of the driver who struck and severely injured him last year.
Police found Bryan Smith, 43, dead in his home in the hamlet of Fryeburg, Maine. The
disabled former construction worker's cause of death was not immediately apparent and a
routine autopsy was scheduled. But authorities said they did not suspect foul play.
Smith was driving the 1985 Dodge Caravan in June 1999 that struck and nearly killed King.
The author of "Misery," "Carrie" and "The Shining," underwent several operations to repair a
broken hip and fractured leg. He spent months on crutches and underwent physical therapy to
learn how to walk again.
"I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Bryan Smith," King said in a statement. "The death
of a 43-year-old man can only be termed untimely."
Smith was found dead in his bed Friday night. Autopsies, however, are routinely performed in
Maine when the cause of death is unknown.
Smith was convicted of aggravated assault and driving to endanger in the King incident,
charges that carry more than 10 years in prison. But after reaching a plea agreement with
prosecutors, only his driving privileges were revoked for a year.
He was expecting to find out next month whether the state would renew his driver's license.
A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday.

Coyote is the victor by 35 seconds!
LM and I went to the Michigan ren-fest this weekend. It was cool! And Ice-fragging COLD!
Oh no, I will be fine in shorts and a tee-shirt. I don't need my jacket!
I LITERALLY felt myself cooling so much I was starting to loose conciousness.
TOTAL loss of appitite (even for hot coffee, which I WAS NEVER ABLE TO FIND!), queasy, blurred vision, unable to feel body parts, cheast pains...
Geez... I nearly died, didn't I?
OH, wierd news...
My parents who have been married for 8 and 13 years are getting a divorce. Not too bad, I guess. Not totally unexpected, though. They are selling the house (too bad. It is a REAL beaut. And I would buy it... if I wasn't broke and couldn't afford the $1200 a month mortgage payments).
I just hope they don't put the dog to sleep because they don't know what to do with her.
Good news: I picked up The Sim's this weekend. Addictive little game, isn't it?
Gside: <Do you use http://visualroute.datametrics.com>

OH! GAY ESKIMO! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I have been wanting to hear that again for years!
<But who cares about the team?>
YEAH! Screw the sports! Give us the important stuff! Art, music, and <gasp> education!
Batman Beyond?
Ok, why the slag did that girl need to be in a bubble? I missed the first 7 minutes of the ep.

BTW... are fan-fic writers getting jobs on TV shows? I mean, Buffy mentioned Lestat and Janeway (Kate Mulgrew on Voyager) said something like 'do you think I am queen of the faries?'
Only fan's would sneak that sort of stuff in!

And your right... that story WAS funny!
Robby: <Baaaad editing and dubbing, and I can get original copies.>
Do you know of anyone who just happens to be... 'disposing' of their copies of Escaflowne and maybe even Card Captors?
Todd Jensen: <I really would prefer more detailed reviews>
I'll try, but I can't promise anything. They say you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar, but vinegar does get alot of complaints where honey get's nothing.
(I'll read the story tomorrow.)
Mandolin: <t was 80 on Saturday, but the temperature dropped to 45 degrees today in Frederick.>
Yeah... that sounds about right.
The REALLY wierd thing is that I have seen changes that drastic in a DAY!
8am: 90
8pm: 45
That was REALLY freaky.
Or snow (and 20 degree weather) on one day, 70+ the next.
<I literally fell off my chair when Angel launched into "Mandy.">
Me too!
I say again... were Buffy and Angel written by Fan-Fic authors today?
Singing demons, Dracula, Lestat, a joust...

I missed Buffy!!! Shoot me in the head and call me a son of a catdog.

My friend Ruth is reading over my shoulder as I write, so pardon any weirdness. (More than the usual, anyway.)
**BEGIN MINOR WHINING**
Maryland weather is nuts. It was 80 on Saturday, but the temperature dropped to 45 degrees today in Frederick. Naturally, because of the boiler system, they couldn't turn the heat on in the dorms. I'm going to bed early because I think I'm catching a cold.
**END MINOR WHINING**
Anyway....
Coyote> **hugs** Happy birthday! **checks watch** Okay, happy birthday in a few more hours, but you get the idea. :)
Rahsaan> I am probably the LAST person to say this, but CONGRATULATIONS! You *have* to let us know when it's going to air when you find out...
Jackal> <<Well, now @ 29 weeks, the baby has way more than that! He's developed most everything he's gonna need, including a penis. But when you're a guy do you really need anything else??? >> Hehehe... it's good to know he's healthy, period! :) **gives Ruth a look before she can express a snide comment**
Oops. Happy birthday to Pogo, Wolf-Marian, and Wraith too. :)
**BUFFY/ANGEL SPOILERS**
Buffy> Only real problem I had was that Dracula relied a tad too much on posturing, and that white makeup distracted me. It didn't help I watched this with a chronic nitpicker (but she made me watch the "Men In Pink" episode of Hercules, so she should talk!). Loved the repeated times Buffy had to (supposedly) kill him - "I'm standing right here." :) I hope that the Dawn thread plays out all right, and that Xander does indeed stop being everyone's doormat. Poor guy deserves it; lately, every time he gets dumped on in this series, I wince. Hey, I like Xander, okay?
Angel> I literally fell off my chair when Angel launched into "Mandy." (Ruth's comment that "He's singing to you!" did nothing to quell the hysterics.)
**END SPOILERS!**
Okay, TGS stuff to do, then bed. Night all!

***BUFFY / ANGEL SPOILERS***
Well, another year, another season of Buffy and Angel!
BUFFY: Okay, I suppose I'll be odd man out or devil's advocate here, but....after watching the Buffy premiere, at the end the only words that came out of my mouth were "That's it"? I mean.....I don't know, but this episode didn't really do it for me. I had heard word that this show was incredibly funny and great, but....I don't know, after watching it, I was sort of left with a "Bleh" feeling. Not that it was a *bad* episode. I just didn't think it was that great. Not that funny, either. Some good humor, as usual the funniest bits surrounding Xander. And I liked Dracula, although they seemed to opt more for the old stereotypical Dracula than a modernized version (BTW, wrasslin' fans, did anyone else think that the Buffy Dracula looked more than a little like WCW grappler and fellow Juggalo, Vampiro?).
Personally, I look forward to the day when Gilbert Gottfried plays Dracula, since he does the best impersonation of the Count. EVER.
So, unfortunately, while not a bad episode of Buffy, it sort of gets a sideways thumb from me.
Here are a few tidbits from Joss on the upcoming season: There will be 2 main villains, one male and one female, who are being described as like the Mayor or the Master in importance, but different from other villains we've seen before. Also, Drusilla will be returning somewhere down the line. And, unfortunately, Dracula won't be returning (although it damn well looks like he could. She staked him twice but he's still kicking.) Oh, and Tara has a secret which will be revealed. We don't know what it is, but Joss has promised that whatever this revelation is....well, Tara fans won't like it very much (I'm guessing she's a damn dirty demon, but that's just me).
ANGEL: Now THIS was a good premiere! Okay, the plot was pretty lame, what with Angel killing a good demon so now he has to protect this pregnant lady. Whatever. The humor made up for it. This is perhaps the funniest Angel yet. I loved the opening sequence, specifically Angel's reaction to the human sacrificing demons: "Stop that."
Plus we get lots of entertainment from the karaoke bar, culminating in what I'm sure will be a highlight for the best of reel--Angel singing "Mandy" (he must be very brave to choose Manilow). A fun episode indeed.
And I enjoyed the return of Faith. I hope that she becomes a regular, as Angel attempts to reform her.
All in all, a big thumbs up. Great show.

***COUPLE MORE REVIEWS FOR RANDOM ANIMATED SHOWS***
Like Robby, I caught a couple WB cartoons this past weekend, even though I feel that Fox TV has a much better Saturday lineup, Digimon being the exception (I could care less about the goddamn Digimon emperor).
JACKIE CHAN: An okay show. The one I watched was the episode where Jackie fights a Mexican Luchador (which is entertainment itself. I love lucha libre. El Santo could kick Triple H's ass any day of the week) named El Toro Fuerte. The show has good fight scenes, but it's a little weak in the metaplot. Maybe it's cause I walked into the show after a couple eps had already been shown, because I didn't really understand why the lame bad guys were so hot for the magical talisman, other than the fact that it was...well, a magic talisman. Still, it's Jackie Chan. I've seen dozens of his movies, and I've yet to be disappointed with the Chan man.
STATIC SHOCK: I've never read the Milestone comic, but I've heard good things about it. So I was optimistic about this show. After seeing it.....I'm none too impressed. First off, the animation--not the worst I've seen, but they could have been a LOT better. Than the characters.....I understand that Static is a teenage superhero. But for some reason the writers of the show have tried to rip off the old Spider-Man schtick and stick it on Static, but it just seems awkward. So, most of the time, Static wanders around tossing out horrible one-liners (I mean, REALLY bad ones. The writers really need to work on their dialogue). AND the villains suck. I haven't read the comics, so I don't know if they were this lame in the books, but in the cartoon, they're not imposing.
So, I wasn't too thrilled with the premiere episode, but it has possible potential, if it pulls its head out of its ass.
***END REVIEWS***
News that will make Wilek very, very happy: In case you haven't heard, my big blue friend, Danny Elfman will be scoring the upcoming Spider-Man flick. I know you're a fan, so you'll be enjoying Spider-Man swinging to the tunes of the Elfman. ;)
Tenchi Muyo: Well, I'm happy--it looks as if Sakuya is really some sort of construct that Yugi created to entice Tenchi. If this is the case, I'll breathe a sigh of relief. Cause it would make sense: NOBODY is more annoying than Sakuya. "Oh Tenchi, don't leave my side for one second!" "But Sakuya, I have to go to the bathroom..." "I don't care!" If she's some sort of Yugi puppet, it would make sense. God, even Mihoshi is less annoying. I mean, at least Mihoshi is amusing. Sakuya just makes me want to gnash my teeth.
Don't Mess with Stephen King.....EVER: Did you hear? The driver who nearly killed Stephen King with his van is now dead himself. And its under mysterious circumstances.
Don't mess with the scary horror writer.
What the hell did King do to this guy? I think he brushed his cheek and said "I curse you thinner." But that's me.
Dungeons and Dragons: For those interested in the movie, it will be coming out on December 8th. It's got dragons, people. Dragons. That's worth the money alone!
Oh wait, forget that. Dragons do NOT make a movie. Dennis Quaid, I still want my money back for that goddamned Dragonheart movie! Sean Connery as a dragon my ass. It's crappy movies like that that ruined your career! Well, that and the substance abuse....
Dreamie: I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think that Edge plays a regular Immortal in the Highlander movie, not a young Duncan.
BTW, can the rest of you believe that Edge and Christian lost the titles to those jabronies the Hardy Boyz? That just reaches new levels of heinosity! No more flash photography for E & C.

******PENDRAGON SPOILERS******
OK, since you asked so nicely, I'll give my first impressions. I really want to read the whole story again. I was interrupted several times while I was trying to read it this morning, so I didn't absorb it as completely as I would have liked.
1 - good story with some of the best pacing I've seen all season.
2 - some very interesting developments: Caspian's emotional roller coaster (when his horn started glowing was he just embarrased, or was it a sign of something else...), Mary's slide into bestiality, the whole clan second thing.
3 - some new stuff that looks interesting - like the humans who used to be allies with the scottish clan.
4 - I was impressed with the characterization, moreso than I have been recently. (Not that it's been activley bad, but this was VERY good) Of course, Christi's one of my favorite fanfic writers, and her art blows me away.
5 - I'm looking forward to the next ep. I want to see Caspian and Rosalind break up. (every good romance needs a break up first, so the lovers can realize how much they REALLY need each other). I want to see how things shake out with both clans, too.
Basically, a pretty good job all around. I didn't see any glaring problems except for a nagging bit about how stone sleep is supposed to heal you, yet some gargoyles still have lingering wounds. That doesn't really bother me, since the wounds were inflicted by magic, and we've already established that magic messes everything up.
I do wonder how Graeme and Lucy are going to communicate past the time difference. Then again, it's only three or four hours. I carry on correspondence with people in Belgum and South Africa (7 hours), and we get by.

**SPOILERS** New Pendragon: Very, very good. Nice pictures. Loved the "or so I told Will" line. Did he ever come up with anything original, or did he steal it all from immortals (or the nigh-infinitely prolonged). And I say enough with the armadillos. And you'd think one of them would have figured it out, especially if she said anything about Caledonia. **/SPOILERS**
<<initiation weekend>>: Sounds juicy. Anything horribly humiliating?
<<the infamous red "x.">>: I get a ripped picture of a square, circle, and triangle. Hey, it's the primatives.
<<I wouldn't worry about being a techie here>>: I don't, it's just that I don't really have a product, as many others do.
<<Give me a year and I'll be joining you>>: If you already are moderately adept, and the majority of your classes are in the sciences, I'd say you're already there.
<<How come Pitt can turn the ball over seven times and still beat Rutgers?>>: Because we aren't any good. To quote the Targum: "If Rutgers coach Terrry Shea wants to keep his job he has to win, plain and simple. Until the Turgers football team shows the slightest bit of killer instinct, that isn't goin to happen." Seriously, three years ago we didn't win one game in the season. But who cares about the team? How was the band? I think you were their away game.
Warpmind> <<someone NEEDS to do something about the fanfic archive code>>: And how long does it take to load the the author list page? It's completely disproportional to the needed data and available bandwidth. And it looks like the good Mr. Rogers heard our pleas, and is currently lookding for PHP and SQL people. I did take a course in SQL, bu tI have no real experience. That is a new announcement, right?
Calíope> <<I'll have to check Pratt out>>: Are you sure you are ready for Brooklyn. It's right on the edge of Bedford Stuyvesant, and just look at what it did to my brother (scary 1 of "scary 1, 1a.jpg").
Ieatu> Sorry, what? But welcome anyway. Do we know anyone else from Manitoba?
Robby> <<I don't *think* DC owns livestock anyway>>: Well, no, but it's the thought that counts.
<<SUper S started up today>>: It looks like Killer Klowns from Outer Space Redux. And now I finally get where that one image came from. You don't want to know what I'm talking about.
<<his "one more thing!" line>>: Wasn't that Columbo's bit?
DPH> <<But is it possible to be both logical and insane at the same time?>>: The best nonsense comes rooted in logic, as proven by the great mathematician Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. You have read some of his works.
<<ok, is that insane enough>>: Nah, still too reliant on patterns.

* SPOILERS FOR "BUFFY" AND "ANGEL"*
I thought that both were great season premieres.
BUFFY: The confrontation that was almost inevitable, when you stop to think it over. Buffy faces off against Dracula, the most famous vampire of all. It was particularly interesting to see that Dracula had the powers that vampires traditionally have in legend and the popular imagination but which "Buffyverse" vampires haven't displayed before now (turning into a bat, a wolf, or mist, and being able to mesmerize people). And he made an effective antagonist, too (I wonder if he's gone for good; a part of me hopes that he isn't, given that it's a little sad to see a major legendary figure like that depart forever, even a thoroughly villainous one - I had a similar concerned response to Oberon stripping Puck of his powers in "The Gathering".
I got a chuckle out of Xander playing Renfield myself (and LOL at the bit where Riley took him down with considerable ease), and enjoyed the bit about Giles considering moving back to England and Willow's response. And it will be interesting to see how Dawn gets handled in the upcoming episodes.
ANGEL: Also a great season premiere. I liked how they handled Angel's guilt over killing a "good guy" demon (particularly the part where Wesley suddenly realized in the middle of his comments how close the demon was to Angel in nature), and was particularly delighted with his joust to the death with the demon knight. And as for Angel singing in the demon night club - that was certainly a fun moment in its own right. Faith's cameo at the end was also an unexpected delight.
All in all, if the rest of the season remains this good, I'd say that we're in for a real treat.
* SPOILERS END *
A HUMBLE REQUEST ON TGS: One thing that worried me a bit was that so far, all the comments on this week's episode have been just a general "good story", but without really discussing or analyzing it or going into detail. I know that you folks are afraid of spoiling the episode for people who haven't read it yet, but please, I really would prefer more detailed reviews. I mean - that was the original purpose of this comment room, wasn't it? And the "Spoilers" warning can help to warn people who haven't read the stories yet not to read the comments.

Olympics > still haven't been watching much, but as I did catch some of the Men's Diving the other day, that's good enough for me ; )
Jackal > yes, they do get the hiccups. One of the weirder sensations, I can tell you!
Cruddy night at work. Had a tresspasser come in, refuse to leave, yell and cuss at me, and then fall asleep on the floor. Over the space of 2 and 1/2 hours, I placed five calls to 911 to get this guy removed because his presence was upsetting our residents (none of whom are exactly stable, and all the really high-strung ones were up all night anyway). Closest I got was a cop car drive up, an officer get out and look in the downstairs entryway, and then leave while I gaped in astonishment at the monitor. The tresspasser finally woke and I was able to get him to leave on his own, but to be let down by the police like that was VERY aggravating, and now the agency is planning to file a formal complaint.

*** SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON PREMIERS OF BUFFY AND ANGEL ***
Can we say "Joss Whedon is a pure genius." ?
I knew you could.
Where to start, oh where to start. The new opening theme was so cool, most of the shots taken from Whdeon-directed episodes (Restless, mainly). Nice to see Emma Caulfield in there, as well. The episode of Buffy was just amazing, I really have no quarrels with it (they could of used Spike more, I guess). Dracula makes the coolest villian, as long as they don't overuse him (if he's not the main villian for the season, anyways)...
Onto Angel... Gunn was in the opening credits, which is so cool. Nice way to introduce him to Cordy and Wes, I thought. Overall, a very nice episode. They handled Wesley great, and the element of Angel one day becoming human. And, you know, I can't wait to see what they do with Darla (and Lindsay, for that matter... nice hand there buddy). I thought her one scene was nice, and it's good they didn't start right off with her... And Boreanaz singing "Mandy" was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen...
And... that... that was Faith in the end. That was SO cool. I wasn't expecting that at all. Very cool, very cool indeed.
Ok, all for now...

Greetings all...
ROBBY > BTW, Speaking of the Chan-Man... coming October 20th, one of Jackie's older-but-damngood films "The Legend of The Drunken Master" is hitting theaters in the US.
Talk about a cool flick to catch when you just want to kick back with some friends! Athough I'm sure that some parents will be none to thrilled with the alcohol tie-in, it should still be a cool flick.
Got to go for now... Maintain and Check Six!

DPH heads inside his house quickly and goes in a special room for a few moments. Everybody else has been in the house for a few minutes when DPH comes out.
"Jason, I have something for you. It will allow me to keep track of you." said DPH.
Jason replies, "What?"
DPH hands Jason a special solar powered light bulb and says, "This will allow me to find you in a hurry. You notice that is glowing black right now. That is because I have adjusted it to glow black when I am in the same universe as you and it glows white when we are in different universes. It also acts as a homing beacon allowing me to open a portal or gateway directly to where you are."
Jason says, "You want to leave now?".
DPH replies, "Only if you want to. I wanted to make sure that I could find in a hurry if I needed you or I could know if you were kidnapped or just traveled back into the other universe."
Jason replies, "Well, I will make this a short visit. I will be back in a few days."

Oii, the TGS story I'm working on is just NOT ending! I've been writing this sucker for like two months and I'm not even half way through it yet. Oh well... You folks should enjoy it when it eventually comes out...
Geez, haven't posted in like a week. And I have three hours of math homework ahead of me and Babylon 5 will be on in half an hour... What does that add up to? Not enough time to cover everything. Oh well, I'll give it a go...
Gside- I don't *think* DC owns livestock anyway...
Various Tenchi series- All the Tenchi series have their good points IMO. Tenchi Muyo had the best character development, but due to budget, left a lot of plotlines dangling. Tenchi on Earth had a few enjoyable eps but seemed to mostly be filler recap, while Tenchi Universe was probably the best Tenchi series overall, due mostly to the way the entire story came together for the last 7 or so episodes. (Ryoko's "death" scene is one of my top 25 moments in animation and comics.) Tenchi in Tokyo... Uhm... Well, it has that one cool costume for Ryoko. Magical Girl Pretty Sammy is actually a great deal of fun being the parody that it is, but I'd be surprised if Cartoon Network picks it up anytime soon due to the Sailor Moon licence. (And SUper S started up today... Ewwww on the new voices. The main villain sounds like Yoda! And the dialouge translation is dropping a few more notches...)
SJ- ReBoot toys? Well... ALong with McFarlane's anime line and the ElfQuest toys, I'm gonna have to start buying me some action figures again!
New WB animated shows- SInce no one else has commented on these yet...
Men In Black season 4- Technically not new, but they're finally mixing things up a bit by giving L a partner and stuff. Bout time! Otherwise, the show is still good.
Jackie Chan Adventures- Okay, the basic premise is pretty lame... Jackie is an archeologist working for his friend Agent K... Er... And he has to find 12 magical artifacts to save the world. But despite that! The action sequences are great and true to Jackie Chan! His little side kick neice, rather than being annoying, is very entertaining! His uncle is funny when he shows up with his "one more thing!" line. Not a *great* show, but definatley fun to watch for the jokes and Jackie Chan action.
Static Shock- This one is a dissapointment really. Having read the original comics, I was expecting... More. Still, I'll hold off judgements until another episode has aired.
Pokemon: The Johto Journeys- Yeah yeah, it hasn't aired yet, but I've seen some Japanese episodes. Its just more of the same pokemon wackiness with 100 new marketing tools thrown in. But that's not important, cause now we got Brock back!
Batman Beyond- So far, more of the same. Some good eps, some not so good.
Cardcaptors- I've stopped watching this one for the same reason I'm not watching Fox version Escaflowne. Baaaad editing and dubbing, and I can get original copies.
4th Highlander movie- I just use the same ideal I use with the Dragonball Z and Sailor Moon movies. Alternate timelines. Nuff said. Granted, the DBZ movies have the excuse that they were made while the series was still going and contradictions were bound to happen, but still...
And nuts, I'm outta time. No RP tonight I guess...

Hi Ya'll. I don't know how many of you will live close enough to find this really interesting, but here goes...
Introducing…
The Metroplex Society for Interactive Theatre (MSFIT)
This is a project I've been thinking about for quite a while, but only recently a couple of my friends have prodded me into actually working on it. What I want to do with MSFIT is create sort of a LARPing co-op where several people combine their resources to put on LARPs.
I don't really have all the details worked out yet, but the basic system will be that members pay dues to join. That money is pooled into an account and used to purchase props and set pieces (and maybe costumes pieces) which can be used over and over again in a variety of games. The idea is to be able to create a more immersive gaming environment.
Right now my friends are putting together a MSFIT web site, which we will use to get the word out about what we're doing and how people can join. Which brings me to my point. What's the one thing every web site needs?
Server space.
No, wait, we already have that. What's the other thing every web site needs?
Content.
Right, content. I'd like to ask those of you with a writing bent to contribute essays on various aspects of LARPing (Costume on a budget, how to make those stats into a character, etc…). Obviously you're not going to get paid, but you will get a by-line and an e-mail link if you want one.
If you're interested, or just want to know more about MSFIT, feel free to e-mail me at david_goodner@yahoo.com.

*Warpmind enters, tearing DC limb from limb.*
Argh! The SOB killed the machine here three times in a row! When I was trying to type! During the past 30 minutes!
*Shreds DC's remains into even smaller bits.*
Rest in pieces, DC. ]:)
David G: "Do you promise?"... *Snicker*
Jannie: A Miniclanner has left this mortal coil? My condolences for the loss...
Gside: True, true, but you techies are still needed. For instance for database maintenance. (By the way, I've looked at the archive - someone NEEDS to do something about the fanfic archive code - I accidentally found the directory containing *all* the fics, in separate subdirectories for each author... imagine if I stumbled across the author information database...) Oh, and I'm happy, yeah. ;)
Oooo, new episode. :)
Emambu: Heck, I don't *believe* that I'm 100% certain to attend the Gathering, but my hopes are high, and I have favors to collect (not big ones, but still...), so... As for the car story... ROFLMAO!
Well, 'tis all for now. Friday, I'll be heading to an Asperger get-together, so I won't be posting this weekend. But, I'll be back tomorrow and thursday, so... :) See ya.

I wonder how Katara managed to comprehend it all. I must remember not to type up stories at 1am. ;) BTW Katara, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Take care, *Emambu apologizes again for all the typos and then slips out*

Man, what a crappy day, and I've never understood the phrase, "I'm so tired I can't sleep", until now.
Baby news- FORGIVE MY TYPOGRAPHICAL error in the last post about his height, at 30 weeks the average is 3lbs, and 14.8 inches. I don't know what the hell I was thinking, 17..., Right now he's at 29 weeks, so obviously slightly smaller than that.
He was reported to have the "hiccups" yesterday. But I doubt that was *really* the case, I mean, how does that happen to an unborn child? Then again, a small percentage of woman say they can hear the baby cry, weeks before the due date. ::shrugs::
I do know he is my last, if I got to have my balls taken out, so be it.
I found out today, that a friend of mine got 60 years in prison, guess that's why I haven't seen her in a while..., god, I can't imagine that, I can't stand sitting 3 hours in jail!!!! I'm hoping she'll be out in 5 years, I just feel so bad for her...
but shyt happens, huh? See ya!

Hey, gang! Wow, everyone must be having busy weekends. It's already Tuesday and this has been a slow pace so far (though I haven't helped it until now) :)
Hmm... not much going on in my life at the moment. I had a wonderful weekend with my choir group (initiation weekend) but somehow I doubt people want to hear about it. ;) I did finally get a reply back from cartalk about my brother's car story. They said it was good but they just didn't have room to post it. Therefore, I'll post it here later on because I know there are members here with stories of their own who will get a kick out of it. Perhaps they've been in similar situations... though I hope not. I'm also hoping that this pic shows up. Last time I tried to use the Phoenix Gate, I got the infamous red "x." I hope it works this time. Now, on to replies...
Guandalug la'Fay: I like the pics, but it seems disorganized. Having trouble with laziness hunh? Perhaps I can find new ways to motivate you. ;) No wait, that's from Star Wars. Seriously, those pics look great. I really like them.
Pendragon: Great episode. I enjoyed reading it, and I await the next one.
Taleweaver: That's terrific! Let us know as soon as it airs so we can all watch. Maybe you'll get lucky and your other two opponents will be celebrities... "That's S words Mr. Connery not Swords." ;)
Mecord: I'll say it once, I'll say it again. This is a good place to let out some steam if need be. I hope the outside elements of your life are treating you better. Then again, we haven't heard from you in a week. Let us know how things are going.
Warpmind: Yeah, I hope you can get there this summer too, though I don't think I'll be in the same part of the country as most of the people here this summer. *shrugs* Oh well, there's always next year and I heard something about it being held in detroit too. That's a heck of a lot closer, ergo a heck of lot more doable.
Mary: *Emambu rolls his tongue back into his mouth* You never let us have any fun. :) *The temporal void appears again and a feminine hand reaches out to slap Emambu across the head* Oh right, I have a girl now so I can't be drooling. My mistake. Anyway, think you could send some heat up this way? I'm freezing here. I liked you stories too though I must confess to not being very learned about Ranma 1/2. Still, I enjoyed the detail and the characterization even if I had trouble understanding what was happening at certain times.
Firestorm: I dunno, I just got a really humorous image of Barney acting as a sportscaster for a football game. ;)
Niamhgold: Oh I've been giving you the go-to for quite some time now. ;) Seriously, I'd love to see them when you get the chance. I just don't want you to kill yourself in the process or fall behind in your work. BTW, that was a pretty neat story. What are the odds that something like that would happen? Someone must have been watching over you. Either that, or you're incredibly lucky, whichever you want to believe.
Dame Corax: Congratualtions on passing your chemistry exam, and good luck with the upcoming midterms. Let us know how you do.
Nadia: I hope you were able to resolve your situation too. Coyote summed it up nicely so I won't repeat everything that's been said. However, you should follow your heart, follow what you believe in. Don't let anyone be the master of your own world.
Christine: I hope you haven't been disappointed with the Olympics this week. A lot of stuff happened, and I hope you didn't miss out on any of it. My favorite: Laura Wilkenson coming back from eigth place to win the gold. Good luck with the publishing ordeal.
Kitainia: Thanks you for the well wishes and now I extend my own to you and Doug. It seems that both of you have had an eventful couple of weeks. I'm to hear that it all got worked out and I hope this weekend was a bit more... relaxing. You both deserve it.
Gside: I sleep pretty deeply. When I was four, I was staying over my nana's house when someone got it in their heads to do road work at 4am. The jackhammer was situated right outside my window. it woke up most of the block. However, I did not stir. my parents have both told me that I sleep "like the dead" and surprisingly enough "like stone." ;) Also, I wouldn't worry about being a techie here. Give me a year and I'll be joining you. I have one last question: How come Pitt can turn the ball over seven times and still beat Rutgers? That's just my odd throught of the day.
Winterwolf: ... and a good job you did with the translation too. :) Thanks again for your well wishes. My next ambitious step is to claim a solo, which will be really hard considering some of the people in this choir have had their voices professionally trained whereas I have not. Just out of curiosity, what question did you answer differently? You're compatablity with me jumped up about 11% into the low eighties. BTW, if you spicy tolerance is low then you probably wouldn't want this chili. ;) Still, *offers the bowl to Winterwolf anyway* don't say I didn't warn you.
Caliope: Thanks for the encouragement. I'm not taking a spanish class this semester due to scheduling conflicts, which annoyed me. However, I did bring a lot of my books as well as a vocab and grammer book. Hopefully, my language skills won't atrophy in the next few months. ;)
Spike, errr... Lucy: Great pic! I particularly liked the one in the lower-right with the Harry Potter book. Reminds me of myself. :)
Doug: let me just say again how appreciative I am. The comments on my outline were tremendously helpful, and it will hopefully give me some good material to write with. I'm glad you enjoyed my comments for NotS 3 as well as the comments I gave on your other stories. I could go back and critique them all but that would take a long time. ;) Still, I'll try to do one every now and again. I think right now though I'm going to move into Donald Flemming's stories, and Kali Gargoyle as well. And of course, I'll be working on my own story now. Again, I'm glad to hear that things are settling down with you and Kit. You both deserve the break.
Mandolin: Congratulations! Those pics looked really good too. The guy really does look a little like the Rock too. I'm glad to hear that you won. Invest it wisely. :)
Stephen: Glad to hear you got a cable modem, and that you're back on-line. Keep in touch.
Skippy: Good to hear from you.
happy birthdays to Crzy Demona, Coyote, and everyone else. I hope they are special for each and every one of you.
DPH: This room is pretty insane by itself compared to some other forums I got to. Although if anyone visits my website then stay out of the Interactive stories, and do not read some of the stories in there. You will lose all perception of reality and the men in white coats will take you away. :)
Katara: Nice webpage. As Gside said, it's well organized which is a very big part of the whole process.
Jannie: I am so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathies.
Random thought: Does anybody know what would be a good song (not filk or parody but an actual song) for gargoyles? My nomination would have to be "Moondance" by Van Morrison. If that doesn't work then I nominate it to be the official song for Dreamie and Winterwolf, especially since Dreamie told me that she's a fan of Van Morrison. ;)
Car Talk story: Yeah, I said I'd post it. I hope it gets some laughs from you guys. I was cracking up after my brother told it.
Anyway, the story begins in the spring of 1996. My brother is on his way back home to Philadelphia from the Florida Keys. he had had a great week but he knew that it was time to come home. It was about 1:00 pm as a 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme sped down a stretch of I95 (north-bound) in Northern Florida. Around this time, my brother feels something snap in his car, and his control over the vehicle becomes sluggish. Slightly worried he pulls the car off on to the emergency lane, pops the hood, and takes a look. The timing belt has snapped. My brother is a bit of a mechanic but he knows he doesn't have a spare. Still, if he could get into a auto shop he could feasibly be in and out in fifteen minutes since these things don't take very long to fix. All in all, it's a temporary setback. Mt brother then proceeds to whip out his cell phone to call AAA only to realize it;s not charged. Now slightly angry for thinking ahead, he clamly waits by the car for someone to stop and help him.
About 45 minutes goes by when a cop car pulls up to him. The cop had been called out because there was an accident further down the road, but he sees my brother first. He pulls over and then calls AAA after my brother explains his plight. The cop tells him not to worry, that a truck will be out to come get him soon. Satisfied with the response, my brother thanks the officer who gets back in his car and continues driving.
My brother waits, and waits. About an hour goes by when he spots a truck going south-bound on I95. The tow truck got the directions confused and thought my brother was on the other side of the highway. There's a concrete median, so it can't well just hop across. it takes twenty more minutes before the tow truck finally reaches my brother.
Now there's something you need to know first. Northern Florida has several areas of swampy marsh that make up the terrain. Furthermore, there's nothing beyond the emergency lane except for swampland in the particular part of the highway. Now the tow truck comes up the mergency lane and pulls ahead of my brother's car and parks it on the edge. Actaully, it was too close to edge. My brother watches with mixed horror and fascination as the truck slids down the hill, and gets stuck in the mire. The driver gets out and calls AAA to come help him.
An hour later a second tow truck arrives to help my brother and to get the first truck out of the swamp. This driver is more careful about where he puts his truck. he yanks the twoing wrench off, goes down the hill, clips it on to the first truck, and proceeds to pull the first truck up. However, about halway up, the chain snaps, and the first truck sinks back into the swamp. The second sriver gets on his phone and calls for a third truck to come help. Worse yet, without a chain, the second trucj cannot help my brother out who has been waiting for close to three hours to fix a timing belt (a fifteen minute job).
The third tow truck comes about 30 minutes later, but it was reurning from an accident further up north. It had two flattened cars on its bed as it pulled off to the shoulder. It had to unload it's cars before it could help the first truck out of the swamp. it hooks the chain on and begin to haul the truck out.
Now, there something you need to know aboutt his median: it's high enough to prevent people from crossing it but it's low enough that people can see over it. At this point both sides of the highway are slowing down becuase they can see two crushed cars, my brother's car sitting there with it's hood up, two trucks standing on the emergency shoulder, and third truck being pulled out of the swamp. Needless to say, most of the drivers are wondering what kind of freak accident cause the is carnage. They begin rubbernecking and it isn't too long before a car traveling south-bound, slams into the back of another car. This accident completely strops up all traffic going south-bound. North-bound traffic is also at a crawl becuase of two accidents along that area now.
So now my brother is standing on top of the roof of his car, surveying eveything that he has cuased. Both lanes are clogged for miles (south-bound is particularly bad due to the accident), and two tow trucks were damaged while trying to load his car. My brother is just standing there, all the while thinking, "I did all of this." The traffic jam is larger enough to make the local news too.
Five hours after the timing belt snapped, the first truck is hauled out of the swamp. The second truck (the one with the broken chain) leaves, as does the third truck after it loads up it's two flattened cars. At this point the cops have arrived to clean up the mess that the other accident has caused. One of the cops recognizes my brother. it's the same cop that called for the first truck over five hours ago. he just looks at my brother and says, "You're still here?" My brother can only laugh at this.
Finally, the first truck loads my brother car on to it's platform. My brother decides to check the underside of the car to see if anything else got damaged when the timing bel snapped. As he inspects it, the bumper snaps free and whacks my brother across the head. This is just adds injury to insult. finally, they get to an auto body shop and my brother's car is in and out in fifteen minutes (as predicted). The entire ordeal took over six hours total. I just thought it was hilarious. My brother is now convinced that there's a vehicular Bermuda triangle in that section Northern Florida.
I hope everyone got a kick out of reading that. I know I got a kick writing it. ;) Take care and have a good night,

I forgot. Sometime this afternoon (it was this afternoon, because this morning did not exist for me). I rotated the mp3. For a really odd song, and a lampooning of many singing styles (notably Dylan's, if you can call it singing), take a look a Corky and the Juice Pigs's Eskimo.
Happy, Warmind? And how about you Gunjack? Was Warpmind's prediction right?

I hit me over the weekend that every other week, I have a long weekend. EE labs are rather crowded, so they have the some one over two weeks, and a lab is my only class on Mondays.
For some reason, I feel compelled to relate an anecdote from band camp last year. A graduate, known as Spoon, had been hired back to help instruct us on marching. It is always a task to get a band to return to a previous form, so Spoon developed many phrases from the standard "Quick like bunnies," including "Quick like gazelles," "antelopes," "...the mice in your beds," "...bumblebees," and teh drug series: "...bunnies on acid," "...smoking crack," "Oops, forgot about the drug policy." But perhaps the funniest thing he said was when he was trying to come up with a criticism of a particularly ugly form, which happened to be "That form is Schmagma." There then ensued a discussion on whether he consiously knew what he was referring to.
Warpmind> <<The techies were the VAST majority in the early days>>: Of course. The techies are required to set up the congregations of fans (e.g. CRs, fanfic databases). And they are needed while the show is still going on to prove physical impossipilites and/or come up with the theories that would allow something to be possible. After that, all the new stuff come from the right brainers.
Many happy returns to CtB, Wolf-Marian, Pogo, and Wraith.
Calíope> <<What college is he studying at, if he's in college?>>: He has graduated after a couple failed attempts from Pratt Institute (located in Brooklyn). I believe his degree is in commercial illustration.
May Kelly "Granite" have found peace. Those who knew her have my condolences.

Happy Birthday, Coyote! =)
*lowers head in a moment of silence*
I'm saddened tonight. We in Mini Clan have discovered that a fellow clanner was killed yesterday in a riding accident. Her screen name was Granite, real life name was Kelly.
She was such a sweetie, very kind, considerate, funny, and friendly. Her short life of 15/16 years will be remembered by those who were blessed enough to have met her both IRL and OL.
It is a time of mourning for Mini Clanners.

**Winterwolf appears in a temporal paradox**
A big friendly hello to everyone! I'd explain the paradox but it defies all logic!
******WARNING - BFTS RP******
Jason having removed all the Speed Stars from the area goes to check on Winterwolf. DPH, Plastique and Frost also head to the north side of the house. Winterwolf is sitting on the grass rubbing his head. Jason asks, "Are you okay? I saw you get shot multiple times!"
"I'm alright. I made some body armor out of thick ice so I didn't get hurt from that." Winterwolf continued to rub his head.
DPH asked, "So what happened?"
"Actually I tripped and hit my head against the garden hose pipe." Winterwolf points at the pipe.
"What a loser!" Frost exclaims.
Plastique ignores Frost and says, "Let me take a look at your head." After examining it she adds, "That is going to be a nasty bruise! You're lucky Jason took care of all the Speed Stars!"
Jason blushes slightly while DPH nods. Frost says, "They were no challenge at all! If they come back I'll take care of them myself!" He then heads back into the house.
Everyone else heads back into the house.

Well, some lucky folks have already seen the Buffy premiere that airs tomorrow night. For those of us not in the know, here's a few bits and pieces, so SPOILERS are following.
***SPOILERS FOR BUFFY PREMIERE***
It's titled "Buffy vs. Dracula", and here's the 411.
First off, kudos to Emma Caulfield, aka "Anya". She is now the latest cast member to actually join the opening title credits (no more guest star status!). Spike fans rejoice, James is still there as well. Riley haters, gnash your teeth, cause he's still there as well.
Apparently, the season opener advances all sorts of plot threads, and--as usual--is reportedly incredibly funny. One example of character development--Giles, feeling that his service to Buffy is no longer needed, confides to Willow that he is planning to head back to Britain. However, by the end of the show, Buffy convinces him that she still needs him as her Watcher.
Dracula is, apparently, a Romanian pretty-boy, who's suave enough to get all busy up in Buffy's stuff. The two of them even share blood. And--this is the part I like--he comments on Buffy's "Darkness". This thrills me, cause it advances the thread dangling from last season--that Buffy, as a Slayer, may be a little....oh, let's say, EVIL (it would make sense. Faith went evil, the first Slayer wasn't exactly a paragon of virtue...).
A couple more notes about Drac--he's ALWAYS a pretty-boy. None of that funky demon face morphing. He seems to have a Protean discipline, and in what I consider a stroke of comedic genius, he turns Xander into a Renfield-like publicity agent. And he has a castle in Sunnydale, leading to one of the show's funnier moments when Giles and Riley, on patrol, stumble across it:
RILEY: I’ve lived in Sunnydale a couple of years now. Know what I’ve never noticed before?
GILES (staring at the castle): The castle?
RILEY: The big honkin’ castle.
Giles and Riley then enter the castle, and apparently a Buffy-version of the Castle Anthrax skit from "MPATHG" ensues.
In the end, Drac bites it, BUT---apparently there's room for him to return (I think, as I understand it, Buffy kills him at least twice during the show. If he can come back after the first stake, why not the second?)
And in the end, we catch the briefest of glimpses of Dawn...Buffy's new sister.
I can't wait to see this show!!!

Greetings,
Highlander: Endgame> I saw the movie and came away feeling nonplussed for the experience. On the up side, it had the elements me and my mom liked in both the movies and the series: Swordfights to the maximus, great explosions, period piece costumes. (And for my mom and most of the other woman I know who love Highlander the Series, the gratuituous Adrian Paul butt naked shot) On the downside, it felt like they were trying to please everyone and wound up pleasing no one. I watched the series, but there wasn't much interaction between the old cast and Connor. Only four lousy scenes with Methos, what gives. And Connor's fate runs contradictory to not one, but two sequels.
part of what didn't satisfy me was that if you've seen the series you see this as the basic formula episode. A immortal from the Highlander's past shows up in the present with a monstrous grudge. There's some doubt he can defeat him, but in the end there can be only... Well, you get the idea. And at least a couple of times each season there is an immortal who wants Macleod to take his head, to end the long journey. In short, it's well trodden ground. I was expecting something new or unexpected. I thought breaking rules like fighting on holy ground or teaming up would give us some insight and maybe some closure on Highlander. Neither did. If you haven't seen it or plan on seeing it again, I'd say take an afternoon matinee. Don't pay full price for this one.

Hi ya'll.
My hands are really cold. It's like 50 degrees outside. I love it.
Anyway, a couple of comments on Highlander: Endgame.
1 - I think they're pretty much trying to say that the second movie never happened. Maybe Connor woke up in a cold sweat and promised himself never to have extra spicy chilli right before bed again or something. :)
2 - I think if you look very closely, the bad guys never quite _Broke_ the rules of the game. They came really close, but mostly just bent them.
I had some trouble with this myself, but you CAN argue that the flunky immortals really only attacked one at a time. As soon as one started to get beat, he backed off and another one attacked. (You could also argue that six against one isn't "Two against one" so it doesn't break the rule.)
I don't have a good answer for how they apparently had battles on holy ground, though. Possibly the ground wasn't really holy, or possibly they got just far enough away from the graveyards.
My personal opinion is that the writers did a bad job on that, but it wasn't as complete a hash job as I was worried that it would be. When I saw the first trailer, at the part where the announcer says "Highlander: Endgame!" I cracked up half the theatre by asking "Do you promise?"
3 - Connor as the winner. To get around this one, you kind of have to assume that in Higlander the Kurgan was just a really tough immortal and when Connor beat him, he just thought he'd won the game. Kinda stupid, I know, but it's the best I can do.
4 - All the cool ninja powers. This really bugs me. If you get an immortal's power after you take his head, Duncan should be a sorceror (If I remember correctly) and Connor should have the power of illusion. I SUPPOSE you could say they have those powers, but never use them, but that seems pretty stupid to me.
Maybe you get the skill and strength, but you have to practice to use the power. Even so, the power of illusion seems pretty darn useful. I'd have studied it.
Oh well. Endgame was the best of the sequels, which makes it worse than Highlander, but better than Star Wars: the Phantom Menace. :>
Now mind you, if I was the writer, I would have done a better job

Niamhgold: Heh, I'm still not sure who's touching who of the man and the monkey, but I'm leaning toward the monkey touching the man - though, as I recall the picture, they're not really touching; didn't the human wear gloves? ;)
Firestorm: Exactly. :)
SJ/GXB: The Kill Giulliano thing: Who said "Don't take it personally; it's only politics"? ;)
Gside: Oy! Remember Star Trek? The techies were the VAST majority in the early days, as I can figure it; remember, the Fandom has always depended on the techies to be able to replicate the more scientific details of the shows. :) Now, where'd I put the ol' tricorder? ;)
Well, that's it. See ya.

If yall don't mind, I wanna keep yall informed of my new baby's progress! I think the last tyme I mentioned the baby, it didn't have a sex yet. Well, now @ 29 weeks, the baby has way more than that! He's developed most everything he's gonna need, including a penis. But when you're a guy do you really need anything else???
His name?? Trenton (Trent) Kaos There's just sumthing attractively dark about it, to us anyway, and it's the only name that seems appropriate.
Birth date (estimate of course)- 12/12/00 Though I think he will be born early. Prolly Thanksgiving tyme.
Current Stats- He's a meany head. My other 2, when you poked @ them in the womb, they'd prolly poke back once or twice, then moved. This freak will try to knock you out! And if he does move, he's all pissy and the mother REALLY doesn't like when he's pissy. All in all, it's funny as hell if ur not carrying it! :o)
At 29 weeks, he should weigh about 2lbs and be 17 inches long, ruffly. Official weight and height will be known @ a later date.
Other official stuff says he's: "beginning to regulate his own temperature and the bone marrow is completely in charge of production of the red blood cells. The baby is even urinating about a half liter of urine into the amniotic fluid everyday!"
Now, isn't that sumthing only a parent could be proud of!!!
Birthing Classes- Start them in Oct. :o(
Personal Stuff- For sum stupid reason I feel I should prepare the world for him, and I've been having these really..., like.., "OMG that was such a parent thing to think" type thoughts. I guess it took 3 for me to realize, Hey! I'm a parent! ::shrugs:: But there is NO drastic change in who and what I am. Aside from..., I HATE THAT EVIL PEDOPHILE BITCH BRITNEY SPEARS!!!!!
And, yes, we are circumcising the baby. Why? The simple reason- oral sex. Yes, I do think about my children having sex, face it, they're going to, why is that sooo taboo?!???
Anyway, bye for now.

**Suddenly guns from the ACLU point at DPH and he stops the quote then and there to avoid having a fire fight in the CR room.**
You know I might have to bring the ACLU into the BFTS RP as antagonists.

I hope some people get the hidden message of this post.
Things are really bad at work: I handled the same set of wires 5 times. That means at least one of the wires had to be repaired each time. That is sad.

Ok, does anyone here follow the highlander series? I used to be a big fan but after watching this last movie I am getting tired of problems with plot. There are just too many holes. First, This latest movie took place in the present year but the second movie took place in the future. A future that Connor Mcloud was alive to save the earth from ecological destruction. Also, in the first movie he was supposed to be the last immortal, but of course in every movie and episode of the series there were plenty of immortals left. Plus, this latest movie was based on an enemy that was breaking the rules of "the game". But, when the rules of the game were broken in past episodes of the series very bad things of biblical proportions were supposed to have happened. Nothing bad appeared to happen this time though. I really do think the writers of these movies should at least be familiar with the series they are quickly destroying.

Jenna> <<I can relate- I always feel like the black sheep>>: If anyone's a white sheep in my family, I'm probably the closest one to it (barring my antisocial behavior that is). Or at least, I've pretty much always known that I really am a freak, so I didn't need to feel like one. The freaky parallels I mentioned would be that the younger brother was the techie.
Niamhgold> <<Gabe, who came up as an accountant and was offended>>: May I please wound him?
<<you shouldn't walk around off-campus wearing a laynard that advertises you as a college student>>: About an inch and a half of mine is showing, solid black.
<<I'd peg you as the mastermind type>>: But I have no sense of style or originality. I mean I've worn bandana for almost a year straight. And the number of long sleeve shirts I wear consistantly can be counted on two hands. But does anti-style count as style?
<<I say that our cult society screw up all the clocks by adding the 13th hour>>: But it doesn't divide well with 360. And the time zones would be all messed up.
<<was the monkey touching the man or was the man touching the monkey?>>: monkey->man. I almost have my train of thought worked out on that.
<<I hope to have my next fic out soon>>: Woo hoo.
Fire Strom> <<Odd song>>: Blame Dylan. Chances are he was on drugs (and probably doesn't need any more, now).
<<I quite liked it>>: Blame Dylan. His stuff gets wuite addictive when someone else does it. I just downloaded a whole bunch of different versions of Forever Young.
<<It tells me where the people that don't post their location are>>: Do you use http://visualroute.datametrics.com/ ? It told me that the Baron was using a Loyola computer for Mr. McLaughlin. I forget where I got the link, I think it was in one of the CRs.
Winterwolf> <<Don't worry about it! We love you in here!>>: I wasn't thinking about going anywhere. It's just that teh fandom is essentially constructed of and held together by the artists and writers that it's hard to get yourself noticed as a techie. I think Gorebash is about the only one.
Good to see you again Skippy.
Daphne> <<why is d@mn not considered as bad as some others?>>: Because it has no synonyms, and becomes harmless in a purely theological discussion.

Wow. This coming from someone who just recently mentioned that he'd get into politics.
What if you ran for an election and someone said "Gee, I hope somebody kills you if you get into office"? You probably wouldn't dismiss it so lightly. It's a very intense thing to wish death on another human being.
