Here's something for the enjoyment of those who grooved on the Joes during the 80s.

This is the link to the website for the new G.I.Joe comic book which will be launched by Image in September. The animation in the first page shows a couple examples of the artwork for the comic. From what I see, it's just like the old comic, with the core Joes (Duke, Snake Eyes, Roadblock, etc.) taking on the core Cobra group (Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Dr. Mindbender, Zartan [please let that mean Dreadnoks!], even Xamot and Tomax. The artwork even shows your standard Vipers and Crimson Gaurdsmen.). I'm jacked about this new series. Here's to hoping they'll take Larry Hama's initial direction and make the comic more war oriented, as the cartoon/comic really started to get weird when they added all of the fantasy crap (shout with me, Cobra Commander fans: Serpenter was a douche bag!).

The website doesn't have much now, but they do have a mailing list and a nifty message board forum. My favorite topic in the forum is an explanation as to why the Joes were disbanded: Bill Clinton. That little pussy bastard disbanded the Joes when he downsized the army! Some say it was a plot by Dr. Mindbender, but that's letting Bill off the hook. Regardless, thank God we have a good, war-loving Republican in power to reinstate the Joe team. Yo Joe! ;)

Lain: Well, why NOT bomb the mall in West Edmonton? Sounds good to me. It'd be nice to get together with our frigid brothers of the Great White North and blow stuff up real good.
But the Canadians are real comfortable making fun of us, aren't they? You know who I blame for this, don't you. The French. It's those damn French Canadians causing all the ruckuss. I tell you, if the French didn't make such tasty croissants, we would have risen up against them years ago!
<<i DID learn the other day what a circumsized man looks like naked.>> Now if that's not a setup, I don't know what is. But I don't go for jokes that are THAT easy. ;]

Lain brought up the Israeli / Palestinian conflict, though. Our (the USA) latest tactic is to wiggle our finger at the Israelis and chastise them into letting up on the Palestinians. This, IMO, is incredibly foolish. Why? Let me be offensive: The Palestinians are terrorists. No, I'm not saying ALL of them are. There are civilians. But most if not all of the violent ones causing these conflicts are terrorists under the watch of the biggest terrorist amongst them, Yassar Arafat. I'm hoping I spelled that right.
Look, why won't anyone just say the truth? This is all anti-semitism. The Palestinians don't want "their" land back. It's all desert out there, they could give a camel's ass about the land. The only reason they want the land is because there are Jews on it. They just hate the Jews, bottom line. Been that way for centuries, maybe even millennia. No peace talks are going to stop this, and no measures leveled at Israel are going to do much good because Israel isn't the primary aggressor. They didn't start the fight, but they're damn good at ending it. What our government is doing reprimanding them, I have no idea. Way I see it, Israel is probably the only country in the Middle East that has any sort of worthwhile stability.
It's times like this that I wish Aris was still in here. I really would like to hear what he has to say about this. Aris, I know you lurk. Please, join the reindeer games again.

Aaron: <<I'm going to pass on a bit of wisdom given me by Elin Winkler: "The regular people, in *any* alternate lifestyle, (Goths, furry fans, otaku, whatever) see a TV camera and slink away. The *really* freakyones, the ones who're freaky even for their particular crowd, always run straight toward it.">> Tell me about it. This E! (the exclamation point is for fun!) channel show on goth nightclubs was just bizarre. Everyone was WAY over the top. There was this one character, for instance, named Rat Bastard. That was the guy's name. Big, fat, bald mofo. And at one point, he changes into this outfit so that he looked like a big, fat, bald poor man's Marilyn Manson. And he's bitchin' to the cameraman. "People always mistake this outfit as a dress. It's not a dress! It's Japanese samurai pants!" O.o Bizarre Bazaar. <<Spoken like a man whose home teams went a combined 82 and 116 in their last seasons.>> Let's not forget the wonderful 8 and 8 season for the Redskins. It's true, my hometown sports teams suck the big one. The only teams we have that are any good are the soccer teams, both men's and women's, but I'm with you, I couldn't watch that if little satanic imps were poking me in my posterior with little pitchforks.

Vash: I was the one with the Buffy spoilers. I've posted a bunch of them as I hear them. Most have proved incredibly wrong, as is the nature with most rumors. A few of them turned out to be correct, as it was rumored weeks ago that Giles would kill Ben and that Glory would get her ass handed to her by Buffy using the Troll Hammer, and that Buffy would die. Even though most of the rumors are just rumors, it is interesting to see the directions in which the show could have gone.

Hey, does anyone pay attention to the news? I usually don't, but I just read that Senator Jeffords of Vermont might be defecting from the Republicans to become an independent. He indicated that if he does, he would vote with the Democrats. This is a big deal since the Senate is split 50-50 right now, and it would give the Dems control. More importantly, from my perspective, is that the currently boring political situation will be vastly more interesting. Yes, I find politics entertaining. It's not good for much else. :)

hey you lot, i am here, in the library, talking to you for FREEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! HUZZAH FOR LIBRARIES!!!!!
*ahem*
anyway, my computer is being a psycho.. she says i dont have a modem but i can take the modem out, wave the darned thing in front of the screen, shout "LOOK HERE YOU MORON, THIS IS A MODEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!" put it back in, uninstall and reinstall the software, try sixteen gazillion times to connect and it still says i dont have a modem. daft nit of a computer... thats all *I* have to say..
im going to try to download a driver from the compaq site while im here and i might be able to get my Mutant Enemy of a computer to realize she has a modem but.. i will probably have no such luck, knowing me and murphy...

josh>> awww... no josh in canuck-ville? dangit!! well.. yeah august would be okay.. green baron is supposed to be coming to see me then but.. you started posting after he left so i am not sure if you know who im talking about. anyway, im sorry that she has mono, that has to have a large stink-factor. course.. you could always come and stay at MY place.. (see how freaked my dad would be with THAT idea.. heh heheheheh.. what he doesnt know wont hurt him..)
; )
ooooo im SUCH a rebel...

SJ>> ask gunjy about the time he asked if i had PMS.. my first instinct was to bash him over the head with something and my second was.. "hey! thats not FAIR!!! he noticed and *I* hadnt even noticed yet!!!!!!"
maybe this is cos i have a history of my parents pointing out my faults and being conditioned to respond with "yes, you are right, i know its all my fault, im sorry, i will not let it happen again..." and still to this day.. had a fight with daddyo for the past two days, and of course its ALL my fault, and none of it is his..

speaking of fights with my father, he says that im "barking up the wrong tree" in my friendship with gunjy. probably he says this because gunjy is not a "good atheist boy".. daddy wants me to meet someone who isnt "dangerous" to the ideals hes taught me. but sorry dad, if your ideals cant stand up to scrutiny, then maybe you ought to think about them yourself, and thanks for having so much confidence in my mental faculties, that you think i would be so easily influenced..
idiot..
i would at least like to think that i can hold my own, thankyouverymuch.
and then he was angry because of the number of minutes on the last phonebill which were spent calling gunjy. though it wasnt the number of minutes he was angry about, but rather that number compared with the number of minutes i spent calling HIM.. jealous much? its that many, my dear, because you also call me.. and because we hardly have anything to talk about, and if we talk for longer than a few minutes, we end up shouting at each other. is it really such a bad thing that i dont call him so much?
oh and i just had another idea.. the only calls that come on the bill are ones made to either out-of-province/country or out of the time-restricted area when you can call.. (cos i was on a 20$/month long distance plan) wo um.. those otherc calls to him wouldnt have shown up cos they were within the 20$ limit. so THERE. stuff THAT up your keister.. sheesh..

*******buffy*********
well i WAS gonna comment on the buffster but it seems that all has been said. i had a small thought though.. if buffys dead, and dawn was made of buffys blood, and buffy could die in dawns place, does that mean that dawn is now the slayer? or is that just a totally daft notion..
hmm.. oh well, just a thought
**********END BUFFSTER**********

aaron>> "<<what does it mean when>> That you're circumcised?"
...
heh hehehehehehbwahahahHAHAHAHHA... i refuse to comment on this matter, however i DID learn the other day what a circumsized man looks like naked.. and he was a darned sexy one, too..
dont look at me like that.. its an art class.. we have nude models.. and ive only ever seen the.. erm.. "natural" kind before so.. *turns slightly red*

gunjack>> while on this subject.. i would like to perform a small experiment for the entertainment of the other posters in this comment room..
*walks to gunjack, leans on one of his shoulders, whispers something in his ear and observes the response*

(for the benefit of the comment room, i will now type to you the two words that i spoke to the gunjack. they are as follows:
"NEXT WEDNESDAY"
*giggles in spite of herself* is my halo slipping again? ]:)

lynati>> yeah, no computer after allcomputerallthetime is a real stinker, no? well.. maybe when i (if i) ever get hooked up at home, and when you get back to school, we can get back to the IM parties. till then i suppose well have to write letters, huh? i asked both gunjy and warps to email you my address cos i didnt have it on me at the time, so i hope you have it now : )

anyway, im off to find the address of the israeli and palestinian governments so i can send them these nice letter i wrote.. should be fun, no?
and also today, i phoned 1 800 O CANADA and talked to my government, it was actually pretty cool.. our governemnt has a toll free number.. : D i though that was GREAT!!!! very friendly guy, very helpful. HUZZAH FOR OUR GOVERNMENT!!
and huzzah for the crew of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, who once again proved that many americans are trigger happy and dense when they did an interview with a pile of U S citizens who thought it would be in the worlds best interest if the canadian and U S governments were to jointly bomb the mall in west edmonton... gee i feel safe knowing you guys are the leaders in the Free World..
hee hee, oh, its okay. today i went to candian tire and found that they were selling guns there for less than 60$.. and i thought.. "guns are less than 60$? yikeroo.." and all the hair stood up on the back of my neck and i was forced to clutch my bungee cord and rear bicycle-basket to my chest and flee to the checkout counter..
yeah yeah, cant win em all..

anyway, now that ive finished bashing the home country of most of the comment room, and cheered and been afraid of my own country, i think i will retire to the israeli consulate webpage, and the compaq website and download my driver and find some addresses. yee haw..
see you lot later!

well, for those of you who still care, I am still alive. I've just been very busy with work and other things. For one thing, My fiancee and I are working on our own comic book that'll be called 'Fae In Tokyo'. if anyone is interested in reading the first issue just email me and let me know(we have the storyline down, its just that it may be a while before we actually get it into an actual comic book). I'm also saving my money up so I can hopefully get up to WA to see her in july. and also meeting my future In-laws. Since I'm saving up for that, I wont be able to make it to the Gathering 2001. well, I wouldnt want to go to the Gathering without my fiancee by my side anyways. but well, see you all some other time maybe.

TODD> Sorry, don't know how I missed it before. Nice review.

I didn't see that episode as my local blockbuster only has "Welcome to the Hellmouth", "The Harvest", "Angel" and that episode with the Puppet. All good eps.

BISHANSKY - Oh, my review's up; it's just some ways down the comment room. I posted it just after "Angel" ended last night.

Joss hasn't said anything about the Master as yet, although I agree that it would be fun to see him again. (I rented a few tapes of Season One episodes from the public library recently, and he had some good scenes there - especially one where he's reading out a list of prophesies about the coming struggle with Buffy to his vampire followers, saying after each one "So it is written", and ending with "And one of my followers shall get himself killed because he couldn't wait to eat until after he had carried out his work for me - oh, wait a minute, that's not written anywhere." - referring to a vampire whom Buffy had staked at the beginning of the episode.) Oh, one little correction about Dawn: Joss said that they haven't quite confirmed that they'll include her in the series, but that it's the direction that they're currently leaning towards.

Christine> Happy Anniversary! And does today actually have something to do with the Illuminati? I'd love to know, as today is my birthday, and the Illuminati have a big role in Vashkoda's history (so it'd be kind of a cool coincidence).

Finale spoilers> Heh, one think I like coming to this room for is reading the series discussions and spoilers (I'm so bad). Though I thought someone had mentioned that Spike was going to bite Buffy and have her drink his blood? And there was something about Glory's dad and brother showing up, and Buffy's mom having been dating Glory's dad.... Oh well, somethimes it's nice to have the spoilers be wrong and be pleasantly surprised. It wasn't here, but I had read elsewhere that Alex wasn't really dead on Roswell, and that the Skins were involved in the cover-up. I kind of wish *that* had been true--I hate to see Alex go. =(

Yes, S&P is the big reason why Christine Morgan only guest-writes stories for TGS, on occasion, but didn't join our staff - as I'm sure most of you guessed long ago. :)

A bit of news about the "Buffy" animated series coming out next year; Joss Whedon has mentioned that it will be set back in the time of the first season (when Buffy had just moved to Sunnydale and was meeting Giles, Willow, Xander, etc. for the first time) - but Dawn will be in the cast. Apparently, when those monks retconned her, they really retconned her. :)

Chibi-Pestilence wanders in.

"I'm coming into the room.
I'm ...coming into... the room.
I'm" -WHACK! He gets malleted by Chibi-Death.

"No thank you. I get entirely too much of Robin's pot jag as it is..." The clone clears his throat. "Aaron's brain is still fried from that kiss, and... some other things. So I'm stuck making his post. Aaron says:"

Gunjack> <<what does it mean when>> That you're circumcised?

Josh> <<a few channels that don't suck for an hour or two a day>> True. I used to watch something like 6-7 hours a day, every day. Now... If it doesn't have the letters NBA or HBO attached to it, I don't watch.

Gside> <<I would like to meet his sister>> Entertainment is everywhere. You just have to find it. ;)

Jannie> Personally, I can't wait until we get you, me, Heather, Demona May, and all the other auction maniacs together at G2K1. It'll be the mother of all auctions.

Patrick> That's the second biggest truck I've ever seen. I wonder if it's too late to pick up that RPG launcher to keep the road clear...

It's kind of funny, National Masturbation Day doesn't land anywhere near National Nude Week, that one day a year we invite everyone to get nekkid. (Of course, there are some people who I'd vote to have on permanent Nekkid Time) Oddly enough however, National Nude Week does begin on National Cheer-Up-the-Lonely day...

Beth> <<My boyfriend can't dance well at all>> Beth, you're dating an otaku. None of us can dance. Or do much else that requires physical coordination. Which might not bode well, romantically speaking...

Warpy> << the porn industry, or the sushi bars>> According to THL, we can combine the two...

Todd> Fortunately there is a shuttle that can get you from LAX to the Sheraton for $16/person (sure beats the hell out of a $60 cab ride!) When you land in LAX... find a phone and call SUPER SHUTTLE 1-800-829-2305 (this number only works in the LA area)

SJ> <<Why is a woman allowed and not a man? This is terribly unequitable.>> What can I say, SJ, sometimes life's a b!tch. <<They all came across as SO goddamn melodramatic.>> I'm going to pass on a bit of wisdom given me by Elin Winkler: "The regular people, in *any* alternate lifestyle, (Goths, furry fans, otaku, whatever) see a TV camera and slink away. The *really* freaky ones, the ones who're freaky even for their particular crowd, always run straight toward it." <<Rant>> Spoken like a man whose home teams went a combined 82 and 116 in their last seasons. ;) (That doesn't include the Washington Freedom, because, love women's sports though I do, there's no way in Hell you could get me to watch soccer. Well, maybe if they played naked...

Buffy> Not that I actually watch, but I hope she comes back as a vampire. Hmmm, the new show could simply be called Buffy The Vampire.

Death looks around. "I think that it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some actual work to do."

Pest pops up again. "Are you still pissed about the Knicks goin' out in the first round? Loser."

KER-SMASH!!! The obnoxious clone get crushed with a mallet the size of Rhode Island.

"A little bit, yes."

*peeks in*

I just have a small announcement: Direct linking to an author's story-page in the fanfiction archive now works as well. See my current link for an example.

I know this feature has been mentioned before, but I didn't fully implement it up to now. It's done - finally :)

The Archive itself seems to be kinda working. There are some minor problems already fixed, of course, but otherwise the whole thing's running. Mail me if you encounter any problems or have some new features you'd like to see. I'm still working on a nice feature........

Three words: 3 day weekend coming up.

Damn sinuses. I swear one of these days I will be oversupplied with antihistamines.

I send my hologram when I don't have the time to post.

I won't be going to the Gathering due to 2 factors: no vacation time YET.

I've been trying to save money up to make a downpayment of $2000 on a car, but without overtime, it'll be a long time before I can afford the downpayment because I don't have the money yet for a downpayment of $1000. Damn lack of credit.

www.freecreditreport.com requires you to have a credit card to find out about your credit, even for a trail membership. I knew it was too good to be true.

That's all considering I have to head to work.

Short post before I head off to dreamland: I have to be up at the butt-crack of dawn tomorrow (a.k.a. 6:45) for my first day of work. Real work, as in a job that doesn't pay by the incident.

Whoa! Tonight I'll actually be able to WATCH Buffy tonight! (cursed DirecTV doesn't get WB and UPN in Berkeley).

Hey I still have a week before Av Mists is due! Anyone wanna do some artwork!?

Jannie: <<car alarm>>: Here's the deal with that. The car is 8 yrs old, and the alarm was installed on purchase. When I called Lo-Jack they said "wait, you've had the car eight years and its never been inspected?". So they seem to think that the lojack battery is dead and its trying to charge the battery by draining mine. The alternator was either checked or replaced (I can't remember which) last year, so its not that. As for whether or not its junk heap time for Boomer, you have to understand that the car just went for 2k in repairs over winter break. This car is costing a fortune to maintain. And I don't make these big financial decisions in my family. I wish I did, because I would have junked it a long time ago and bought myself a new one outta my college money or something. So we'll see what dad decides to do with it. <<jaguar>>: grrr...a sixteen year old girl doesn't deserve such a fine automobile. <<I have been to several professional football games myself and enjoyed them>>: Football...the third most boring game in the entire universe (golf is second, baseball is first). <<sick to even consider a day >>: Lemme guess...you're a southerner?

Daniel Johnson: <<I guess there's no turning back now>>: You obviously have no idea of how airlines work. <<Douglas Adams stuff>>: Yes, I know all about all of that. Every mac site on earth posted a eulogy for "The Great Apple Master Douglas Adams". Yawn. Silly mac zealots...doh! <<6100>>: Yes, some other monitors work. It boots completely. It just won't work with this particular 15" Applesync AV. Can't figure it out. And neither can anyone else. <<LCD>>: I'm sorry, but a 15" LCD is just too small for me. 1024x768 is available on my laptop. I want more, bigger, faster, etc. <<cards with ADC also have VGA>>: Yes they do...THIRD PARTY cards. So in order to get AGP on a VGA monitor, you have to buy another graphics card. <<OS X>>: Oh, its useable...just not speedy enough to be a consumer OS. Of course, in 3 months I'll have a Titanium and this will all be symantics.

Greg X: <<a freaking god>>: How about they go with Satan next? I mean, only THE god can stand up to the awesome power of Satan, and with all the references to hell...it only seems logical.

Christine: Forgive my ignorance, but what does S&P stand for?

Lynati: There's always a ride available for my treasured artists...tell me what time your getting into Burbank and I'll try to be there. If you're going into LAX, try to get in on friday around noon so I can pick you up at the same time as Greg. If you're going to Burbank, try NOT to get in at noon on friday so I can pick you up after I pick up Greg.

When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight.

Warpmind: Awwww, sorry! I was gonna write you something, but the only things I could think of-as minor as they were- were not anything I wanted my parents to read, and they were both standing right behind me trying to get me to finish up and post so's we could go eat. *huggles* *nuzzle*

lain: sorry. at present, it looks like I'm going to have less and less access to the computer/my email account, and none at all to IM, for the rest of the summer. or at least, until after June. I know that I'm going to be in a place that doesn't have powerlines (let alone computers) from...I believe, June 5th - 17th. I wanted to try and keep in contact. I hope you feel better. if it helps any, I am curently sharing your pain... :P

Buffy/Angel stuff:
mkay, I'm guessing that the first half of next season will be the scooby's looking for a way to bring Buffy back, and the second half will be them dealing with issues that her ressurrection will bring. I liked how Anya was taken out AFTER all the fighting was over. Interesting that Spike was the (first) only one shown breaking down and crying. as for Giles...well, as I first new him as "Oliver" (VR.5), I was kinda already prejudiced into thinking he was cool...(Heh. I still miss the earring, actually. ) He killed people in that show in pretty spiff-esque manner, too.
Does Buffy's move to UPN mean that they'll be less character crossovers? I rather like them. (Will next season's "Angel" jump in right where it left off and allow for Willow to give an expose of the events; or will it simply jump to after her leaving and everyone just sitting around grieving? (or whatever.))
I liked the guy's reactions to seeing the Host's head..."He was..." "yeah." "Mmh." "That's it?" and they all scream like little scaredy girls and jump back, and Fred just stands there. lice pile...heh heh heh.

Mkay, all for now...oh.

Imzadi: yes, I need a ride. I'm making all the flight arrangements (I'm aiming for burbank) tomorrow.

quick note here...

David> no, I wouldn't suggest anything too outrageous and certainly not destructive *shakes head* I was referring to the balloons and such :) Maybe some hellium balloons, a welcome home banner and the wine & bread as a nice touch. =) Of course, shaving cream on the toilet seat would be funny... hehe ;)

Wow, I can't wait to see the Buffy and Angel episodes now! I don't receive WB here on this cable system, so my son is taping it for me in Houston. I'm not even sure if I can get UPN... O.o Welcome to Hootersville!

Stephanie> <<[my boyfriend] would make such a good father too>>: I am sure he feels that is entirely a matter of opinion.
<<It often manifests as being horny as hell>>: I say that has less to do with children and more to do with nerves, endorphins, and the pleasure centers of the brain.

Imzadi> <<Just one?>>: There are many, but that one happened to come up and serve as a useful example. I never said only. It has many friends.

Beth> <<She buys her clothes at the guy's department of the mall>>: So the shirt buttons on the right insetead of the left. Is there really that big of a difference?

More random comments, but no spoilers.

Let's see, we've had a powerful vampire lord, three psycho vampires, a Slayer gone bad, a really nice man who wanted to turn into a demon, the government and a mad scientist working for them, a cyborg demon/human hybrid and a freakin GOD! How are they going to top this, what can they do next as far as big bads go?

*** BUFFY SPOILERS ***

Spent all year building to this climax, and what a climax it was. This was a great finale and great final battle... far better than the final battle with Adam of Borg last season.

I kind of thought Buffy's death was a cop-out, cause they've got to bring her back, it's Buffy's show after all. But like SJ, I'm sure they won't pull a Xena on us, hopefully it will the same quality as the resurection of John Sheridan. But I wish Willow died ;).

Also like SJ, I found nothing wrong with Giles' actions, I think he just became my new favorite character, alongside Spike. I always liked him before, but that was great. I would have killed Ben also. I hated Ben, he was a selfish jerk.

The Spike development was nice also, I still miss evil Spike, but I got past that and decided to enjoy the new Spike for what he is.

Also nice continuity in this episode also, bringing back the Dagon Sphere, and the Troll's hammer, and Buffy-bot.

Well, what other adulation can I give. This is one great season. Way better than season 4. Not as good as seasons 2 and 3, but still great.

Let's see how they top it.

***BUFFY / ANGEL SPOILERS***
BUFFY: Well, to paraphrase the great Bones McCoy, "She's dead, Jim."
Yes, as was predicted by many (including me, to take credit where it is not deserved ;), Buffy bit the big one in the season finale. Oops, make that "WB Series Finale". Of course, seeing as the show will be on next season (actually, I'm pretty sure the new contract lasts for two more years), Buffy will be back. But we're left with a cliffhanger ending, even if Joss Whedon talks about how he hates cliffhangers and that this isn't one. I can only hope that when Buffy does come back from the dead next season, that it's at least poignant. I sure hope they don't pull a "Xena" here, and make the death utterly pointless. But knowing Whedon, I don't think we have to worry.

Some quick takes on the show, which was one of the finest in the season:
*Was it just me, or did the tension really build in the first half hour?
*The interplay between Xander and Anya was wonderful. I look forward to the wedding next season.
*The fight scene between Buffy and Glory was well-done, but for some reason, it did strike me that Buffy (who had her ass handed to her by the goddess throughout the episode) sort of defeated Glory a little too easily, troll hammer or not.
*Giles goes down on my list of all things cool. I'm sure that many Buffy fans were shocked by his actions, but I wasn't. He did what was necessary, and he acted like a real soldier. That's not blowing smoke, he acted like a REAL soldier. In every war there are acceptable risks, and he knew which risks were unacceptable. Letting Ben live was one of them.
*Has the transformation of Spike not become complete? He cried when Buffy died. Spike, previously one of the show's Big Bad, cried over the death of the Slayer. I'll miss the evil Spike, but I do love the new one.
*This is just me being sick and evil, but yes, I was a little disappointed that Tara didn't die.

ANGEL: Nowhere near the level of intensity that Buffy had, but an entertaining show, if a little anticlimactic. Perhaps too many of these catastrophic season finales have ruined things for me, cause I was waiting for something incredibly tragic or horrifying to happen, but it didn't. Oh well.

Some quick takes:
*Bear with me, it has to be said: THANK YOU JOSS WHEDON!!!!! Whoo! For a second there, I thought the Host was dead. But thank God he's not! Although keeping him alive pretty much cheapens his death, and that IS very Xenaish. But I will forgive this because I just dig the Host. Cheers to Andy Hallet.
*There was a lot of speculation on the net that when Angel slept with Darla he lost his soul again. I don't think that was the case. But tonight's episode posed an interesting question--is Angel becoming more in control of the beast?
*Fred seems like an interesting character. Everything about her screams "Angel's future love interest", but beyond that I feel that she could be entertaining. And damn cute, might I add.
*How cool was that Scanners shot of the guy's head exploding?
*How funny was the Groosalog, seeing as he's a parody of every single barbarian hero from Conan to Dungeons and Dragons?
*Wasn't it nice to see Wesley step up and take charge, showing his leadership skills?
*And wasn't it refreshing to see something happen that never happens but should--when the bad guy starts to give a long-winded speech, you just kill him instead of listening?
*Wasn't the last scene cool? Especially Angel's reaction. Look at his eyes closely, and the way they move. Some good non-verbal acting by David Boreanz.
*Big ups to David, as I hear he's dating actress Jamie Bergman. Don't know her? Think blonde, beautiful, and breasts the size of Texas. Yee haw.

And I'm out. Dunfar, do the Dance of Departure!

Well, I bought my tickets Friday so I guess there's no turning back now. :) I'll be landing in Burbank Thursday afternoon and renting a car, so if anyone will be around and needs a ride, we can discuss it.

This will be my first real vacation in years, so I'm really looking forward to it. Especially since I've never been to CA.

You've never read The Hitchhiker's Guide before? Dude, you're in for a treat. It only gets better. And this is what makes the loss of Adams so bad. While you're at it, check out www.douglasadams.com. Lots of great stuff there. Including the old Infocom game based on the book. Ever played or heard of Zork? Same kind of game--text adventure. Hilarious. You could also check out "Starship Titanic", a graphic adventure game Adams created. You might also be interested to know that his very last post on his personal message board was about Mac OS X. Adams was a huge Mac fan.

What symptoms is your 6100 having? Does any monitor work? Does it just chime and then nothing happens? If so, I might know what's wrong.

I love the fact that Apple's gone to all LCD. I've got a 15" Studio Display on my tower, and, of course, my TiBook. I can't STAND using CRTs anymore. Yes, they're more expensive, but the quality is vastly superior. And the price of LCDs is falling like a landslide. By standardizing on LCD now, Apple will only drive the price lower. This is likely to do to LCDs what Apple did to USB. And it's not like you can't still buy CRTs anymore. Oh, and you DO get the benefits of AGP with regular monitors since the cards with ADC also have VGA ports.

As for OS X...I don't quite know what to say. I'm always hearing people saying how incredibly slow it is, and I don't doubt you, but all I know is what I've seen. I've installed X on three computers now, my tower and 'Book as well as a beige G3 at work, and they all seem quite speedy. Even the G3, which is getting a little long in the tooth. I have never had a kernel panic, nor have I experienced unusual slowness in launching apps. I have programs crash occasionally, but I just relaunch them and keep going. The worst crasher? Internet Explorer. Blech. I use OmniWeb for all my browsing needs now. Ah, well.

I was going to wait until tomorrow originally, but I was that impressed by tonight's episodes that I couldn't wait:

* BUFFY/ANGEL SPOILERS *

BUFFY: A great season finale. Some particular highlights:

Anya making a couple of good constructive suggestions, both of which were ones that I hadn't even expected: the Orb of Dagon (I'd forgotten all about that - come to think of it, did anybody in the audience remember the Orb?) and Olaf's hammer. Good for her.

The surprise return of the Buffy-bot (especially its "diversionary tactic" use, which definitely took me by surprise, not to mention Glory).

Xander's surprise wrecking-ball on Glory.

A very chilling moment between Giles and Ben near the end (seems that there's some Ripper still in our favorite Watcher). I certainly agree that it was something that was inevitable, but which Buffy herself couldn't do.

But the ending was what especially got me. A very appropriate and moving ending to not only this episode, but "Buffy"'s WB run. Indeed very moving. The one question left is:

Since they're going to still be doing new episodes of the series, but on UPN, what are they going to be calling it now?

ANGEL: A very enjoyable season finale as well. I was glad that the Host wasn't quite dead after all, and he was as fun as ever (I especially liked his "That's it?" to Angel, Wesley, and Gunn, and his leave-taking with his family - I was LOL through both). One of the best new elements of the entire season, in fact. Five cheers for Lorne, everybody.

Good development for Angel as well, and his being able to defeat the demon inside of him was a great scene.

And finally, a very effective last scene back at the hotel with Willow's cameo. (Truth to tell, I knew that they'd have to have some reflection of Buffy's fate somewhere in this ep, and I wasn't at all disappointed).

Thanks, Joss Whedon. You did a fine job with these.

Hey everyone! There's enough of a demand for these...

DIRECTIONS FROM LAX TO CON HOTEL

Follow the signs to the 405 North
Merge onto the 101 East/South (don't ask, they're the same freeway)
Exit Lankershim
Turn right onto Lankershim
Turn right onto Universal Terrace
Its on the right, you can't miss it unless you're a moron (okay, so who's gonna be the first to miss it?)

DIRECTIONS FROM BURBANK TO CON HOTEL

Go to AIRPORT exit (airport is a street near Burbank Airport, how's THAT for confusing?)
Right onto Empire
Slight left onto Clybourn
Right onto Vanowen
Left onto Vineland
Slight left onto Lankershim
Left onto Universal Terrace (its on the right, you'd have to be a moron to miss it...and you don't wanna be a moron, do you?)

Okay, you guys are all reasonably internet savvy: USE MAPQUEST.COM!

Josh> ack! I hope you figure out the problem on your jeep. Since you have an alarm system, that could very well be the problem. There might be a short in the electronic part of the alarm. Have you replaced the battery? Sometimes you can have a few dead cells... or the alternator may be going bad.... or even the belt may be causing the problem. O.o I doubt if it's a serious enough problem to scap the vehicle though. :)
I have yet to read the Hitch hikers guide - I should, though.. we have a couple of copies of it around. Once I find it again (it's packed) I think I'll read it.
Driving your dad's BMW reminds me of when I drove my uncle's Excaliber (sp?) around Dallas one weekend. hehehe
Also, he had told his daughter that he would buy her a new car for her 16th birthday... she decided that she wanted a Jaguar and called Germany to order it! (she failed to tell him this) When it arrived at the local car dealership with a price tag of $90,000 he was quiet shocked! *L* The kicker is that she got to keep the car! *falls over*

Warpmind> what time are you arriving at LAX? As Denis said, if we're close in the arrival times, we'll be more than happy to drop you off at the con hotel =) (I'm renting a car for the weekend.) I arrive at 3 something and he arrives at 5 something pm.

which reminds me... can someone from the LA area please give me directions to the con hotel from LAX? which exits, etc.

Played tourist yesterday and spent the day at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. It rained in the morning and was cool weather, but we had a great time. I think Anna and I are going back on Friday. Saw a couple of great shows - the bass singer... *drools* of course, he's nothing compared to Denis *smiles innocently at Den* and the singer didn't have the french accent ;)

I have finally figured out who Glory (my new MinPin) reminds me of.... Peeps from SNL! She acts just like him! - except she doesn't try to mate my leg or arm... *L*
I tried to rest for a while today (headache) and she decided to curl up on my face... not _next to_ but ON my face. I laughed so hard I had to get up. She also jumps up and down - straight up and down - all four feet off of the ground at a time. Too funny... hehe

Looks like I'm buying another car. My uncle has a Suzuki Sidetracker for sale, 3100 miles on it, convertible top, 5 speed, 4WD... for $2500. Looks like Michael will have a "new" car... IF I let him have it ;) That will come in handy here next winter with the snow.

SJ> bravo! It infuriates me when I hear of the professional sports people's salaries. Our priorities are so f*cked up when one football player makes more in one season than a policeman will make in his entire career. But, as long as people attend the games, buy the merchandise, etc. these players will continue receiving such unholy salaries. And before someone jumps my case... I have been to several professional football games myself and enjoyed them.

Lain> I don't think that's maternal instincts... I think you're having a bad case of gas or something O.o *L*
Masterbation: that's sick to even consider a day being designated for it's awareness... geesh, some people really do need to get a life.
hey! I watch the Jerry Springer show! ;p Quality television *nods* I'm going to Chicago next year and am going to go to the JS show =) hehehe

Beth> awwww!! this is sooo cute! Keep us informed :) David sounds like a really nice guy and a gentleman.

David> sounds like it was an awesome wedding! I hope that you took pictures! :) Yes, Yes Yes... decorate the apartment ;)

G'Side> naw, I sold her the dresser for what I paid for it =) It went to a good home.

They had to take my dad back to the hospital today. =( Fluid has built up in his chest area. They gave him a prescription to help with that and instructed him to walk more. He doesn't want to walk because of the pain, but it's going to be necessary. He will walk with me b/c we have both had the heart bypass and I can relate to his pain...which for some reason makes him feel more like doing things for me. *shrugs* go figure. He's a youngster too... only 65 years old :)

Supper time.. it was Anna's turn to cook, so we're having Sonic burgers. hehe, daughter after my own heart. ;)

Her clothes are not jeans and t-shirts made for girls, they're made for guys. <<HOOK ME UP!>> I dunno man, I not sure if she'd be interested in meeting someone through the Net. My baby is dying! The love of my life, the single most stable thing in my mortal existence...is dying. ::sniffle:: My car's battery was dead today. That's the second time in two weeks, which means something's wrong with the electrical system. I hope we can get it fixed, otherwise its the scrap heap for the 1.75 ton Jeep Grand Cherokee. There's some speculation that the drain is caused by the LoJack alarm on it...so we'll see what happens if I remove it...I can only pray.

Today, I started reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. That book is hysterical. I especially like the reference to the "superintelligent shade of blue". My mom purchased a hardcover anthology of all 5 of his books at Barnes & Noble the other day. Really, the best time to buy a hardcover anthology is after the author dies, cuz you know they're not going to come out with another book and a bigger anthology EVER. Not like those fscking Xanth (sp?) anthologies.

Also, the phone guy came and installed my new line, so now I have an entire phone line (paid for by my tech support job) dedicated to my computer being on ALL the time. JOY!

And then, bummer of bummers, I found out that my cousin in Toronto has mono and there is NO way I'm going to visit her just on the off chance I might catch it. I have too much to do this summer to risk that. I might go later on in the summer.

Sorry, Lain. Would it be any easier to hang out in August?

Beth: <<Do you like>>: Okay, first, tomboy chicks rock. Its easier to find common interests with them. Second, what does "guys clothing" mean? Does it mean she wears jeans and t-shirts instead of skirts and dresses? If so, what's wrong with that? Now, if she wore a suit to prom...that's another story. As for the Goddess of... epithets, I think that's pretty sweet. So I restate: HOOK ME UP (ya know, provided she's cute and all). <<It's gonna take a lot of guts on David's>>: If you think THAT takes guts, I've got bad news: it only gets harder...um, no pun intended. <<Whatever mental image>>: I really don't think, even watching as much anime as you do, that you have any idea what kind of mental image I'm getting. So don't assume that you and David are even gonna get close to it.

David: Tomato tomahto. Point is, you have her keys.

Todd: You have not made a big mistake, but I'm afraid we can't let you claim ignorance on this one. You see, it is widely known that I am an LA resident (I have made numerous claims and offered much info on the subject since i joined). Also, there are a few other LA residents in the CR (both this one and the S8 one), not to mention a host of very friendly and helpful gathering staff members. Sorry, you'll just have to wear the dunce cap at gathering 8-)

IS ANYONE ELSE GOING TO BE ARRIVING AT LAX AROUND NOON ON FRIDAY!? I'd really like to NOT have to go there more than once.

Greg: Yes, I'm still planning on picking you up, provided I can get out of work that day. Be prepared to get a cab/shuttle if I can't (you'll know soon enough).

Lain: <<810 MB to 10GB>>: Now THAT is a jump! Jeez! What are you gonna do with all that space ::sees that she installed Win 98:: oh...what are you gonna do with the remaining 810 MB left? 8-)

Gside: <<One reason I am glad for my Y>>: Just one? Every day I think of at least 12 reasons I'm glad for my Y.

SJ: Love the comment about sticking a basketball where the sun don't shine. Anyway, you are dead right, this country places too great an emphasis on stupid things like WRESTLING and not enough on the really important stuff. We deserve to rot for it. <<need one of you peasants to carry me>>: Sorry, I'm not a peasant. I'm a spoiled brat. You'll have to find another CR-dweller to drag your rickshaw. <<double standard>>: So true. But I've learned not to accept is as an excuse. Or at least not until women accept "I'm an asshole" as my excuse. I mean, PMS is a genetically defined condition of being a woman. Being an asshole is one of my genetic predispositions. So why shouldn't that be just as valid an excuse? <<Kids just...annoy me>>: Ditto. I never want kids, and I even worked as a camp counselor at a sleepaway camp all last summer. <<It's not a terribly complicated procedure>>: I dunno...there's really not a lot of room for error. A little too much force and you could really injure yourself (not that I've done that or anything). <<wish your parents trusted you>>: I just wish I knew someone with the body of a porn star NOW, let alone 7 years ago!

YES! NEW STABBING WESTWARD TOMORROW! (thanks SJ for telling me)

Kyryn: Remember you said we were eventually going to ask about the ducks you kept stealing from the CR? Well, maybe you could use them to power SJ's richshaw!

Warpmind: <<*Grovel, grovel*>>: Pah-thetic. <<guidance to the hotel>>: The yellow cars with "Taxi" on top, those are taxis. You get in one, hand the driver some currency (preferrably US Dollars, not your bizzaro norweigan monopoly-money) and tell them "Universal Sheraton". If they respond with "Que?", "Where?" or any other comment that suggests incomprehension, get out and find another similarly marked vehicle and repeat procedure. <<girls are evil>>: Duh. We knew that already. Mathematical proof or no, its one of the universal truths. <<most likely doomed man>>: Or at least a guy who's not getting much play.

Stephanie: <<It often manifests as being horny as hell>>: LOL.

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

Hello all,

Gearing up for the Gathering? I live in the LA area. I might be able to help get people from the airport and back. I'll ask for gas money, but that's it. Besides, I'd like to meet as many in the fandom as possible. Drop an email if any are interested.

Hey, Imzadi, my condolences on having to visit Toronto when you come to Canada, Montreal is sooo much better.

Warpmind:<equation> *LOL*

<i see a baby and my uterus does cartwheels and shouts "ME TOO ME TOO I CAN DO THAT!!!!> I do not mind so much when that happens, what I really hate is when my boyfriend sees that happening and gets so scared he runs away. He is just so cute when he does things like that, and would make such a good father too. *evil chuckle* <And is there even a paternal instinct?> Yes, there is. Todd and Warpmind> could you email me with the details of your flight, please?

Jannie and I are both arriving Thurs. 21st at LAX, and we propose to drop you at the conhotel.

TV SERIES> Last saturday, a new show started last saturday, in Belgium, on the channel that co-produced the series. it's called LARGO WINCH, and personnally I loved the first part of the pilot. It really did honnor to Jean Van Hamme's characters and story. It was directed by David Wu, who happens to have been John Woo on some of his movies, and his mini-serie Once A Thief. Largo Winch isn't Van Hamme's first comic book to be adapted in a TV series. His saga of a beermakers familly, LES MAITRES DE L'ORGE has been transposed in a mini-series, in Belgium and France, a couple years ago. I hope that others series of his will be made in TV series or mini-series: Thorgal (a vicking based fantasy saga. VERY cool!) and XIII (read '13'. a spy series focusing on an amnesic man with a roman 13 tatooed on his neck, and a diabolical politic conspiration). I don't know if there's english version of those books, but gosh here, they're classics!

that's all for now!

Lynati: Whaaaa? You post, and not a single word to me there? *Sniffles, grovels* Waaah, need my fix... at least e-mail me, hmmm? *Grovel, grovel*

Flight schedule: Due to international flight schedules, I'll be arriving at LAX on the evening of the 21st, rather than sometime the 22nd... anyone already in the area is hereby politely asked to provide any guidance to the hotel...

Gside: Thanks for the offer, but I'm none too fond of shellfish anyway, toxins or no toxins...

SJ: Of course it's not okay for men to blame bitchyness on PMS. We're supposed to suffer in silence!

On that note, here's an equation some of you may find interesting...
For starters, we know that girls are a major investment of time and money, hence Girls=Time*Money.
We also know that time is money, hence Girls=Money*Money or Girls=Money squared.
And we also know that money is the root of all evil, hence Girls=(The root of Evil) squared. Which just proves that Girls=Evil!!!

(Brought to you by a most likely doomed man...)

In the news today: people are real pissed at Toronto Raptor star Vince Carter. For those who don't follow sports, the NBA playoffs are currently underway, and in the final and deciding game in the series between the Raptors and the 76ers, Vince Carter had the chance to win the game, but at the buzzer his last-second shot bounced off the rim. Now, if people were just mad at him for missing the shot, that'd be one thing. They're mad at him for something else.

He got his college diploma.

Yes, before the game Vince participated in the graduation ceremonies for University of North Carolina. He was back in Philly, however, a full FIVE hours before the game. Still, people are bitching that he was too tired to do well in the game because he went and celebrated his scholastic achievement. Silly him.

Folks, I could go off on a serious rant her that would be so big and long it would break this friggin' room. It would be a post worthy of Traveler. For the sake of everyone, I'll just keep it short: This is a prime example of one of the supreme failures of our society. This athelete, Vince Carter, goes and does something that most atheletes don't do, and that's actually get a college degree. Now, I don't know, maybe I'm just a little caught up in this emotionally because I just graduated, but to even have the notion that somehow a basketball game is more important than such an academic achievement is just too horrifying for me to contemplate. I don't care if it is what he does for a living. THIS is the failure of our society. We place great emphasis and care on a f!ckin child's game, and we ignore the fact that this guy actually got an academic degree, which shows that he at least tried to improve himself intellectually. We have public school systems that are literally falling apart, we have curriculum being taught that is inaccurate, inadequate, and just plain out of date, we won't let people in the inner city use vouchers to go to private schools under the bizarre and erroneous notion that to do so would "leave some behind"....our educational system is F***ED UP THE WAZOO. It sucks. We trail numerous other industrial nations in the quality of education. And very little, to nothing, is being done to correct it.
But I see new sports stadiums built all the time. I see a dumb little ass like Alex Rodriguez, who looks to be maybe bright enough to get a job at a gas station were he not to be playing baseball, getting 9 figure salaries. Michael Jordan in considered a god among men (especially in this town considering he'll most likely come out of retirement) because he can put a f!ckin ball through a hoop. Does no one see the gross discrepancy here?

It's sickening. It literally makes me ill and violently angry. The guy just got his college degree, something to be incredibly proud of (considering something like, at most, only 25% of the entire nation's population has any education beyond a high school diploma), and he wants to engage in the ceremonies, and now he has to get his balls busted because people want a scapegoat. Christ, get some goddamn priorities. To every single individual who expressed anger at Carter for going to his graduation, either externally or internally, please do the following: Take a basketball, find a jar of vaseline, and stick the ball firmly up your ass, you worthless waste of flesh.

Gathering arrangements: Were I to actually attend, I would fully expect the Gathering staff to provide me with my usual transportation to and from my hotel--by rickshaw. Taxis are so mundane. I need one of you peasants to carry me where I want to go.

lain: << i have PMS >> I've noticed an incredibly unfair double standard here. When women act all bitchy (and here's a surprise for you, ladies--sometimes you ARE bitches), it's perfectly all right for them to use the excuse, "Oh, I have PMS today." And we're supposed to accept that.
HOWEVER, if we men turn around and use that, we're jerks. For example, a woman is acting like a bitch, and a guy asks, "Jesus, what's your problem? Having a bout of PMS?", than he's the bad guy. Why is a woman allowed and not a man? This is terribly unequitable.

<<i see a baby and my uterus does cartwheels and shouts "ME TOO ME TOO I CAN DO THAT!!!!>> I so agree with GSide. Christ I'm glad to be a man. Is the maternal instinct that strong? And is there even a paternal instinct? If there is, I don't have one. I don't think I ever want kids. Kids just....annoy me. Which is ironic, as your fellow Canadian Alanis Morrisette would say, since I'm actually very good with children.

<<and just think, all this after six years ago, when the clinton administration fired the surgeon-general for
endorsing the idea that masturbation should be taught in sex-ed class.>> Now I actually applauded that decision. Because let's be totally honest--if you don't know how to masturbate, you shouldn't be taught it. It's not a terribly complicated procedure. If you're not bright enough to figure it out by yourself, you don't deserve someone pointing it out to you.

Now David G.'s post about the renaissance wedding got me thinking weird thoughts, and ultimately those weird thoughts came out to this--has anyone seen the Goth special done recently on E! TV? That's E exclamation point. They did an hour long documentary, of sorts, about the Goth club scene in Los Angeles (I'm pretty sure it was L.A., but it could have been Frisco. Definitely Cali, though). Anyone else see this? Cause I have some thoughts on this, and I just wanted to get someone else's perception of the goth lifestyle.
Now, I'm goth friendly, even dated a semi goth girl before, but this special literally made me almost backlash on the Goths. They all came across as SO goddamn melodramatic.....anyone seen this show?

Beth: Hey, I'm with Josh on this one. I've always considered "real" to equal "tongue". I mean, just kissing someone on the lips, you can do that to any girl/guy. Your parents for instance. A guy could kiss his mom on the lips, but he won't slip her the tongue.
Well, SOME of them won't. Hee hee.
All I can say is, when I was young David's age, I only wish that my parents would have trusted me to spend the night alone in my room with a girl who had the body of a porn star at 12 years old. Then again, maybe they know me too well. ;)

Musical selection for today: "Schism" by Tool. Lateralus, the long awaited new Tool album, is of course on sale now.
Also for the fans of dark music, tomorrow will see the release of industrial metal favorites Stabbing Westward's new self-title album, along with the new album by freak diva Stella Soleil (formerly of Sister Soleil), "Dirty Little Secret".

Speaking of freak divas, anyone catch the Poe video for "Hey Pretty" on MTV today? Holy Jesus jumping on a pogo stick.

Well, today, I think I'll sit on my @$$ and do nothing. Why? BECAUSE I CAN! BUWAHAHAHA! Vacation rules. I was supposed to go hang out with the girl I'm bringing to Gathering, but she got sick (bummer!). I told her she has one month to recover. 8-)

I spent the wee hours of the night trying to get my Mac 6100/66MHz machine to work (no particular reason, I just want to get it to work). I failed, miserably. I can't get the machine to drive the monitor that worked with it for 6 years. And no one seems to know why. Oh well. It'll go in the museum anyway, and maybe some day I'll find a way to make it work.

In other computer related news, Apple has made the jump to ALL LCD displays, removing their $499 CRT from the lineup and replacing it with a 17" LCD agressively priced at $999. I say "agressively" because this is pretty cheap compared to other 17" LCD's on the market. They've also lowered the prices on their 15" LCD by $200 to $599 and lowered the price on their orgasm-inducing 22" Cinema Display by $500 to $2499 (for comparison, just 6 months ago this monitor sold for $4000). Also, Apple has announced that they are going to pre-install Mac OS X TODAY instead of in July as previously stated.

Now, before this starts a mac-pc flame war (which quite frankly, has been done before and won't be any more interesting this time around): I am admittedly a die-hard Mac Zealot (TM), have been since I switched to Mac two years ago (I can't believe I've been using this crappy laptop for 2 years). Despite having a terrible experience with my own first Mac, most of my friends are mac users and I'm a zealot because I've seen what it possible with the machines and even what I can do on my machine despite the problems I've had (most of which don't exist anymore).

That said, I think Apple is making two HUGE mistakes. First, the monitors. People already bitch about how macs are way too expensive. This is not going to help matters. It was nice of Apple to offer aggressively priced LCD's, but that doesn't change the fact that a comparatively sized CRT monitor costs 1/3 of the price...STILL. There's no way I'm gonna use a tiny 15" monitor with a desktop machine (not after my 14.1" on this laptop, which sports the exact same resolution!). Yet there's no way I can afford to drop a grand on a 17" monitor. I think the future for me lies in either mac laptops or a mac desktop with a sony 17" CRT (which is much cheaper, hell, I could even use TWO of them for less than $999!). So apple is not going to convince any new customers with this (most new customers don't realize that non-apple monitors DO work on macs, but you can't get the AGP benefits unless you replace your graphics card - damn proprietary ADC connector).

Second, OS X is SOOOOO not ready to be pre-installed. Its buggy, slow, and lacks many of the features that mac users take for granted. Most of them aren't critical to the operation of a machine, but they are still features that make the mac the user-friendly platform that it is.

In other news, the 2 Apple Stores that opened this weekend saw 7700 visitors and pushed $600,000 in merchandise.

Well, here's to hoping Apple doesn't fsck up too bad.

SJ: Masturbation is the biggest conspiracy in the world: everyone does it, no one admits it.

Beth (oh, you knew THIS was coming, didn't you!?): No comments about make-up and dresses and hair and stuff (unless you're really a boy, then I've got some hysterical back-handers to make!). Funny that your b/f can't dance, especially since you can dance well. Some guys (myself included, just can't dance. it sucks, but usually we make up for it one way or another). <<real kiss>>: I, too, was under the impression that "real" meant between the tonsils. ::rolls eyes, just because Beth told me not to:: <<damn it>>: That implies that you were actually going to do something inappropriate, which given that you'd just received your first "real" kiss, seems doubtful. <<Privacy with a girl is not allowed for David>>: I'm really sorry to hear that. It sucks. But congrats on a good (productive) prom. <<Beth>>: Whoa! Skinny, a rollerblader, and eats only junk food?! HOOK ME UP!

I'd like to take this opportunity to brag to everyone about MY parents' attitudes about me having girls over when I'm staying with them: "Don't let Alex (my little bro) see anything he's not supposed to".

Gside: <<Maybe you could relate to her better>>: I will vouch (from experience) that it doesn't work. I've tried exposing my bro to my friends (a group of perverted bastards who ages range from 16 to 36)...and all I've gotten for my trouble is my brother knowing way more than he should.

Mordred: Nope, don't believe the liars! There aren't going to be any more stories ever!

David: Thank you for reminding me that I should NEVER give my friends keys to my apartment, despite my open invitation to them.

Kyryn: <<I wonder what that says about me, since I'm most definitely female>>: Well, women can have "size" insecurity issues also. I'm reminded of a magazine referred to in "Married with Children" : Big 'uns --> Big guns....

Warpmind: <<the porn industry, or the sushi bars>>: Go with whichever would be more fun to watch. <<my mind *is* the gutter>>: That implies that my mind resides INSIDE yours, which is unacceptable. I'm more than happy to share the gutter with other minds, but I refuse to accept that.

Lain: <<color thingy>>: I can't tell if you mean monitor or not. <<strange-ish city>>: My dad said this last night: "The weird thing about Canada...all the stuff is canadian." I wasn't sure if that was a warning or not. Anyway, I completely understand. I too, am going to a strange-ish COUNTRY by myself, staying with cousins I barely know who are going to send me around the city. No worries about your dad, I totally agree with him (and I don't know any more about YOU either, missy!). Trust me, I'm not worth pissing him off MORE. Just don't tell him I'm really an axe murderer...DOH! Anyway, if it doesn't work than it doesn't work.

That's all for now, I think that I should eat lunch seeing as its 1:30PM

anyway, this is soon to be it for me again for a little while. i am going back to school at 4am tomorrow morning and i dont have an internet connection there yet. however, my shiny upgraded computer, which went from 810MB to 10GB and win95 to win98 (she wouldnt take win00, her colour thingie is too small) is coming with me so as soon as i can get her hooked up and get my net connection fee and stuff paid, all will be well :) maybe i can get my first month free, seeing as how i have 20$ to my name and i need food too..
but then at least i wont have to be so bored that i watch jerry springer in the day.. (okay guys, i admit it, i stooped to that level ONCE.. and i dont plan on ever EVER doing it again) but.. i mean.. after this hour has 22 minutes at noon theres really not much on, you know? and you can watch "a dating story" and "a wedding story" and "a baby story" on TLC all you want but it gets a little grating on your lack of a)dates you can go on b)people you can marry within the next two weeks (though val did promise he would come up next tuesday and marry me then...) and c)your lack of a baby.. im trying to cut down, you know. not like my maternal instinct isnt bad enough, stupid thing. i see a baby and my uterus does cartwheels and shouts "ME TOO ME TOO I CAN DO THAT!!!!" and i say "shut up you, not yet, DOWN GIRL!!" its really annoying..

life will be better after i start working and get stuff to do.
so i was going to say a pile more stuff, but i cant remember what any of it is cos my brain isnt really functioning at the moment. not that im claiming that is ever really does but sometimes i might like to think so..
oh right.. i remember..

josh>> im not sure how able i will be to go to toronto to see you when you are here. my father got really mad at the thought of me going to a strange(ish) city, by myself, to meet some guy i dont really know anything about besides what hes said off the internet.. and i can kinda see his point.. so unless i can rustle up a buddy to go with me, i dont think ill be able to go.. : (
i would still like to meet you however, it just might be a little tricky. ill see what i can do, allright?

*Warpmind enters, humming the Gabriel Knight theme.*
Howdy, everyone... just a month left before I head off to G'01... actually, it's LESS than a month for me, since I'll be taking an early flight on the 21st of June... *Grin* And add to the fun, my return flight is open for three months... I'm of a mind to take a little interstate journey... maybe even a bar trek. NOT!

Gunjack Valentine: So you have a younger sister... with the goddess on my mind, why would that concern me? And before you make any threats against my anatomy, remember: I have contacts in Japan... on speed-dial. I've yet to decide which would be the most harmful to your psyche; the porn industry, or the sushi bars... };)

Christine: Surely, that *gesture* was your idea? };)

Lain: National Masturbation Day? There are so many things I could say to that... but I won't. However, teaching masturbation in sex-ed class, now THAT I want to make a few remarks on... "Now, remember class, there's gonna be a practical test next week, so you go home and study chapters three to seven, okay?" *Shudder* Sometimes I scare myself... };)

Beth: Awww, that sounds sweet... *Gives a thumbs up* Next time, you reckon you'll get him to actually play with you, instead of playing with the computer? };) (Actually, an answer to that question is not necessary - if you don't wanna share, don't.) Oh, and good luck on trying to get my mind out of the gutter - my mind *is* the gutter. };)

Gside: Warpmind de InzanE shall NEVER admit defeat. *Kablink* Sorry, Ranma flashback there... Anyway, I'm not giving up just yet... the map bits were only the world map, a half-finished tower and a microscopic village ready, so... no major loss. (Thank God for the script where I have most of the little jokes.) As for how dirty things can be... when in the right context, EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING can sound like a euphemism... have you been polishing your aluminum siding today? };)

Guandalug: Woohoo! All hail to the CodeMaster! :)

Shinigami: Woohoo! Is there a tune to that song, too? :)

Anyway, I'm outta here now... later.

*walks in, carrying a large bundle of copied out fanfic from the newly ressurected CR*

Ah, good to be back in business. O just wanna do one thing before I get to reading, and rereading, the stories I missed so much.

Aaron, c'mere *pulls him in for one long steamy uncensored kiss that lasts a good five minutes*

*comes up for air* That done,Chibi Hyena and Chibi Xelloss have a song to entertain the masses with, written originally by my dear trippy friend Robin.

Hit it guys!

*Xelloss and Hyena appear, dressed as British nobility, holding teacups*

Xelloss::Oh Hyena!
I love you
I hate you
oh wont you be my spouse?

Hyena: Yes!

Xelloss::
Won't you let me pour some kerosene
I want to torch your house.
I'll never ever leave you
I'll even cut your throat.
I'll buy a royal castle
and I'll drown you in the moat!

(humdiddlediddlediddlehumdiddlediddlehumdiddlebahdada)

Hyena:: Oh Xelloss!
You're ugly and stupid
and just the man for me!

Xelloss:: (cracking an eye open) Why?

Hyena:: Because you share my
extestential ideology.
I'll hit you
I'll hurt you
I'll bake you a cake

Xelloss:: How sweet!

Hyena:: I'll even do your gardening
I'll impale you on a rake!

Both:: Oh Love is a many spendoured thing
and a house is not a home
Unless you have an electric chair
and a noose to call your own.
So hurt me and squeeze me
Stick a bread knife in my side
I'll hold you very closely on our double suicide!

(humdiddlediddlediddlehumdiddlediddlehumdiddlebahdada)

Xelloss:: I dont want an anesthetic
But I'll disinfect the knives

Hyena:: Oh we can do without diseases
even if we take our lives

Xelloss:: Or we may go for the jumping
off a promimentary bit

Hyena:: And with our luck we might survive

Xelloss:: Remain alive?

Hyena:: Begone you twit!

Both:: Oh
Love is a many spendoured thing
and a house is not a home
Unless you have an electric chair
and a noose to call your own.
So hurt me and squeeze me
Stick a bread knife in my side
I'll hold you very closely on our double suicide!

Thanks to everyone! ^_^V

Last time I checked the membership list we had 201 ppl attending, and only 9 of those ppl were non-attending. I just checked a few min's ago and we are up to 227! 18 of those ppl are non-attending! I myself still have at least 13 more ppl to send in so this is really great! We might actually make half of our total. Not what we could have done, but not bad considering. So I want to thank all those ppl (or perhaps that one person *can't be sure*) who sent in more forms! Great work! ^_^V

Gunjack><Ever heard the idea that an interest in guns and weaponry is actually a symptom of male "insecurity"?> Hmmm...I wonder what that says about me, since I'm most definitely female. :)

Christine> I agree with you on Shrek. I and my friends spent most of the movie laughing hysterically at all the inside-jokes/spoofs as well as the main story itself.

Mordred>Welcome to the CR. Yes, there will be more stories. The Season is essentially into "repeats" right now (i.e., read everything that is already out there) until new stories get written. TGS Staff are currently working on new stories. We'll put up announcements for new seasons as we get close to getting them finished.

Tamsin>Welcome to the CR. We are working on more stories. Please see my reply above to Mordred.

David G.><The groom wasn't totally ugly. (as an interesting side note, the groom's attire cost more than the bride's gown> Hmmm. Either they don't costume, don't have friends who costume, or they used really rich fabrics for the groom's outfit. <Anyway, the best part is that the bride thinks she outwitted all of us by leaving her car locked and taking the keys with her, but she left me a set of her spare keys so I could go feed her cats, and now I have a key to her jeep. I also have a copy of their ittenarary, so I know when they're getting home. The other groomsmen and I are thinking of decorating it for when they get back, including filling it full of helium balloons. > *grin* Have fun!

Later, All!

Gunjack>>>What kind of drugs are you on?...I wan't some.

SPOILERS FOR SHREK AND THE XFILES

Chirstine is right this is a great movie. There were obvious jokes on Snow white, Cinderella, The big bad wolf, pinochio and Peter pan.
Love that Donkey he was hilarious, his interaction with the dragon was cute and enjoyed his singing

The donkey can sing but the princess cannot.

interesting Farquadds place was like Disney world, the information was the smallworld. The thre big faries where like Flora, Fauna and Merriwether from Sleeping Beatuy

Ok tell me the Robin hood skit did not remind anyone of Men in Tights, and Farquad did not remind anyone of Humperdink.
and there was Matrix bit

X-Files
They killed one of my favorite characters!!!! RIP ratboy, you will be missed.

Scully's baby is named William....gee didn't see that name coming since that is the name of both Fox's amd Danda's fathers, Dana's brother and Mulder's middle name.

and Kersh got his. Mwa ha ha.

END SPOILERS

Beth>>>congrats on your relationship. Sounds like you two are having fun. If you need a good date anime I suggest Video girl Ai. Each episode has an Omake with it.

do you know though where you can Inu yasha on VHS?

Using this picture tonight due to content of post:

Hi ya'll. This saturday, a pair of my firends got married. They had a rennisance (sp?) themed wedding. The bride was beautiful. The groom wasn't totally ugly. (as an interesting side note, the groom's attire cost more than the bride's gown.) If it wasn't for the ugly not-quite-burgandy doublets and knickers the groomsmen had to wear, it would have been a perfect wedding. (Actually, the doublet wasn't so bad, but the knickers were a little over the top. We looked like California Grapes without the cool sunglasses. :P)

Anyway, the best part is that the bride thinks she outwitted all of us by leaving her car locked and taking the keys with her, but she left me a set of her spare keys so I could go feed her cats, and now I have a key to her jeep. I also have a copy of their ittenarary, so I know when they're getting home. The other groomsmen and I are thinking of decorating it for when they get back, including filling it full of helium balloons.

It'll be fun.

Talk with ya'll later.

Jannie> <<she wanted to buy the dresser from me>>: I hope you at least made sure not to take a loss on the deal.
<<cutting down a very large tree limb with a chainsaw and the ladder slipped out from underneath him>>: Oddly enough, a similar, though much less dangerous thing happened to me today, with hedge trimmers and being caught by the hedge. Hope he heals well, though.

Warpmind> <<I managed to delete the World map and all its sub-maps>>: So how many times will you restart before you give up?
<<a skillful person could make anything sound REALLY dirty, even if it wasn't>>: Even aluminum siding?

Gunjack> <<Refering to "spooning", right?>>: I'm not sure, you'd have to ask Square's translators. Though Mark Shallow has extended it's use immensely.
<<this is why I don't let you guys near my little sister>>: And I say this is why you should. Maybe you could relate to her better.
<<please tell me that lighter fluid isn't next on the list...>>: Actually, the next two items on the list I lifted that from were to kiss the love of the past 13 years of your life, then die from complications induced by congenital heart disease. Which makes for a moderately good fanfic, I believe.
<<And I STILL say we need to have a tentacle cookoff>>: I vote for straight up grilling, perhaps after being marinated in whatever goes in kielbasa that is not distantly related to meat, served on a bun with your choice of mustard.
<<But do computers and nanotech come anywhere NEAR as close to fitting the, er, profile as guns do?>>: Depends on how good you are.
<<Has anyone else joined in while I was gone?>>: Well so far, you're the official suspect for the pultry incident and all unsolved murders between 1945 and 1967.
<<I *AM* the fount of all evil and corruption>>: And you're not worried about your sister being exposed to that?

Beth> <<Get your minds out of the gutters!>>: But it's so comfortable.

Lain> <<its National Masturbation Day>>: And in celebration, the latest Sexy Losers featured Mike and his sister. Though my h sites better have updated...

Imzadi> <<How dare you?>>: My words are backed by the Sage Tellah, mage of both major schools.
<<I think they stop being "free range" when they're dead>>: I was talking more like an open air market, where you could find live livestock more easily.

Beth> <<I mean 'real' as in on the lips>>: I thought real meant between the tonsils.

*after working a little bit on recovering and homework, Beth comes in feeling slightly better*

Ok, this is what happened this weekend:

Friday evening Mom and I spent about an hour and a half trying to find make-up at the last minute. Seeing that neither of us has much experience with colors and our faces, we just had to wing it. :P But I had gotten some nice stuff I can probably use again.

Saturday, I spend the morning with mom putting the finishing touches on my prom dress that the designers should have put on. Basically funny straps under the shoulder parts to pull in my bra straps. Then my mom worked on drying my hair the right way so that it would not flip out (I got a new haircut two weeks ago for the event). While I was getting ready, I got a delivery of half a dozen roses (like I said in previews post) from David. They're really nice roses! Normally, I love the way roses look, but hate the smell they give off, but these had a subtle sweet scent. ^_^

When we arrived at the Hyatt, I saw a lot of my friends there who looked really great! My friend Beth, who id a total tomboy, looked stunningly beautiful in her blue dress. I was jelious(sp?) that she was THAT skinny. (She rollerblades a LOT and eats only junk food.)

We had a nice dinner and dessert (steak and shrimp dish, then strawberry shortcake). Then I finally got to go out and dance with my honey.

Then I learned something.

My boyfriend can't dance well at all. Seeing that I used to take ballet, I have a Dancer's Eye. I tried teaching him how to loosen up and get into the groove of the music, but to no avail. I like to dirty dance and it's very hard to do it with him. >.< He told me he's never seen "Dirty Dancing" before. It explains a lot. :P But that's ok, I never had the endurance to dance for very long, and my feet hurt like hell. We rested a lot and danced when the DJ played some good songs. Slow dancing was the best. ^_^

I even finally got my first REAL kiss at the prom. :) I mean 'real' as in on the lips. ;P I wanted to save my first kiss for a special moment with my David-chan. ^_^

*sees Josh roll his eyes* Oh, stop it! >:D

After several hours, it all came to an end and David and I took a taxi back to his place. His parents and brother were there (damn it!) and they let me take a shower and change into my spare clothes I asked them to take for me for when I arrived. Then David and I watched "Outlaw Star" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". It was 4am when we were done, and I was getting tired (but not enough to sleep). So I suggested to David we sleep in his room, which he agreed to (what guy wouldn't?). The only problem was David is an insommniac and he stayed up listening for his parents while I snuggled in his arms and dozed.

*hears unromantic people gag* Quiet!

Finally, David's mom came in and suggested that I call my folks to tell them I was ok, which I did. Then I went back to David's room and slept while he played cards on the computer (privacy with a girl is aparently not allowed for David). Then I woke up at about 7am and had breakfast crepes with David and his mom (and his very dumb cats). Then I came back home and went to bed and slept for 6 hours, waking up to feel very grogging still. >.<

National Masturbation Day, huh? Well, to use those figures you gave, the old joke is that 90% of men masturbate, and the other 10% are liers.

Since it is a day devoted to running a batch, playing tug-of-war with cyclops, stirring the soup, etc., will there be an increase in the downloads of Madame Destine fics today?

Oh wait, I forget, that's not what those fics are for....

I'm HOME! The drive was about 6.5 hours with a stop for dinner, and let me tell you something, driving a BMW X5 is a LOT of fun. Its got great acceleration for a truck, handles flawlessly, and has an AWESOME navigation system (sold seperately). But the really cool thing is the voice activated phone.

"Dial Number eight one eight blah blah blah... Dial" and its off! Pretty badass. The car is full of gizmos, just like every other BMW. Its a geek's dream, IM(LT)HO.

Anyway, today I took my brother to the Apple Store that just opened in Glendale. It was AWESOME. Everything you'd expect from an Apple store: clean, black and white, with nice lines and a clear, purposeful method of display. It ruled. And we got free t-shirts!

Gside: <<spoony>>: LAIN! BAN HIM FOR SAYING THAT! I am so offended by your use of that word. How dare you? ;-) <<Release all poultry from market>>: Where would they go? I think they stop being "free range" when they're dead. <<I've heard good things about the divx codec>>: Unfortunately, the DIVX codec sucks. So I won't be using it. QT is the only acceptable format for this kind of project, because no other format has quality thats anywhere near as good. <<Kind of, but stickier>>: Yuck.

Jannie: <<safe journey>>: Thanks for the well wishes. You'll be pleased to know that I drove half the trip home and didn't kill a single sentient! <<plans for the summer>>: Besides Canada and Gathering, there's my brother's barmitzvah (I think I'm going to buy him an iMac), lots of RHPS, fixing up an old computer, prepping this one to ditch on my ex-girlfriend, and working two jobs so I can afford to buy a shiny new Titanium Powerbook. All in all, a busy summer. Hopefully I'll have to meet lots of hot chicks.

Patrick: <<truck pic>>: LOL. That is hysterical. They just keep getting bigger and bigger.

FS: <<llama>>: Is that supposed to be an exclamatory curse? Like sithspit! or something? Hey, what have you been up to? I've missed your rediculously long and entertaining posts.

Gunjack: <<I suppose that isn't an option with a prom dress>>: Or a white t-shirt. <<Did it work?>>: Yes. But only because the cats are drawn to the sound of the door opening. <<I get to keep a few prototypes for "personal use">>: Personal use, fine. But you can't give them out as wedding gifts 8-) <<It's a current trend now?>>: Yeah. I declared it the trend because you weren't here to defend yourself against it. Now you're too late. BUWAHAHA. <<before anyone gets ideas>>: Too late.

Beth: <<no, we didn't do that!>>: Am I the only one in this room that's preoccupied with sex!? I must be.

Coyote: <<that's not an SUV>>: Way to lay out the knowledge-smackdown!

Lain: <<national masturbation day>>: LOL. Wasn't that yesterday? And the day before? And they day before that? <<90% of you men and 65% of you women>>: Are those canadian stats? Cuz here in the states I believe its 99% of men and 92.5% of women. Ha ha, we masturbate more than you do! 8-) <<masturbation should be taught>>: I don't think it should be. Not because its "dirty" or anything stupid like that. I think it shouldn't be taught because if you can't figure it out yourself, you don't deserve it. I mean, come on. How hard is it to figure out what feels good?

You’re Satan, aren’t you?

*lain chortles into the comment room wearing an exaggerated grin and a mischevious twinkle in her eye..*

so guys, what are YOU doing today? would you like to be part of an international event? awwwcmon.. its EASY.. you dont have to go out and be with other people, and you dont have to look your best either.

its National Masturbation Day..

yes, yes, i know there seems to be a "day" for everything but honestly, i think this one takes the cake. not just because they made a special "day" for self-love, but more because the founders of the day made a fund-raising event.

thats right, they made a masturbation-a-thon..

its kinda like a walk-a-thon (except with less blisters on your feet.. unless youre REALLY creative..) in four american and one canadian city, participants go out and collect pledges, being sponsored by the minute, and then go home to complete their task.

dont worry, it isnt a public event - participation is in private and all pledges are collected strictly on the honour system..

and just think, all this after six years ago, when the clinton administration fired the surgeon-general for endorsing the idea that masturbation should be taught in sex-ed class..

clinton fired someone for supporting the teaching of masturbation? i wont even TRY and examine the flaws in that statement..

so anyways, 90% of you men and 65% of you women, its YOUR day.. go out and.. uh.. have some fun..

Patrick: That one won't start up the SUV debate again. For starters, it isn't an SUV, it's a semi tractor (F-650 and F-750 are considered heavy duty trucks ... they're designated as 3 and 5 ton capacity, respectively). Secondly, there's no practical use for a SuperCrewzer unless you have the proper commercial operator license to drive one. Thirdly, I seriously doubt a private citizen would even *want* one unless their manly hardware was microscopic and they REAAAAAAALLY needed to compensate.

Went to see Shrek yesterday and it was terrific! Much better than I expected and my expectations weren't at all bad ... the fairy tale spoofs and outright nose-thumbings at Disney were hysterical, the computer animation was gorgeous with onoy a couple of times that it looked like anything other than real sets ... especially astonishing work with the clothing. Cute story. The only negative as far as I was concerned was that there were a few too many -- shall we say, gastrointestinal -- jokes for my liking.

Spent the day cleaning the house, including going through an old box of stuff dating back to my first wedding pictures -- talk about a scary stroll down memory lane! Whew.

Warpmind > thanks, that's good to know! ; ) I kept telling them it wasn't my idea!

I was gonna continue lurking for another day (or year), but Gside just HAD to go and open his big mouth...

Gside><<Gunjack, Wilek, you'd better be catching up quick like bunnies on acid...>> Depends on how you define "catching up". On GURPS, Anime, Webcomics, old friends that I haven't seen in years, and methods for killing people through soft body armor? Absolutely. On here? Welllll... *sheepish grin* ...Note to self: don't promise to start huge replies the day before you leave for a two-week vacation.
I was going to start posting as soon as I got back, but then I couldn't find the week before last in the archives... And I've been too busy acclimating to my new digs. Mum bought a house, and she needed someone to watch it till she could find a buyer. I'm in heaven. 8D ...yeah, so it's shameless mooching. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, eh?

<<With the possible exception of spoony.>> That's a bad word? o.O ...Lemme guess. Refering to "spooning", right? <<Woot. >> See, this is why I don't let you guys near my little sister. : P <<Release all poultry from market.>> Dear lord, please tell me that lighter fluid isn't next on the list... <<Kind of, but stickier.>> Plus, rocks and hard places don't sizzle the same way when you spray 'em with white phosphorus. And I STILL say we need to have a tentacle cookoff.

Beth - Good to see you're still around. : ) <<*wants to dunk self in cold water but can't*>> I've been resorting to soaking my shirt with water every afternoon... But I suppose that isn't an option with a prom dress. Enjoy yerself, hear?
<<Didn't that start with Freud?>> You betcha. Course, he ALSO handed out cocaine to his friends and relations, so... <<Probably the same thing as all the engineers working on miniaturization and nanotechnology.>> But do computers and nanotech come anywhere NEAR as close to fitting the, er, profile as guns do?

Imzy><<"PUSSY! COME HERE PUSSY!">> *raises an eyebrow* Did it work? <<When you do that to weapons, it means your an engineer with a bright future in the arms business.>> *bows* Thank you. 8 ) <<It also means you're going to be on my top R&D team when I take over the world.>> As long as I get to keep a few prototypes for "personal use"...

Lynati><<Ooh, I have had such a wealth of new experiences the last couple of days, I thought I’d share…>> Good LORD! o.O ...Bleeding scalp wounds? Concussions? Dry heaves and projectile vomiting? ...Glad to see you made it through okay... o.O <<…and yeah, they took my pants, too.>> Heh. Poetic justice. ; ) <<*tries to think of a way to blame Valentine for this, as goes the current trend…*>> It's a current trend now? Has anyone else joined in while I was gone?
<<missed y'alls.>> Missed you too! Why aren't ye back on MSN yet? Eh? Eh?
Glad to hear you made it through the projects in one piece... *reads the ink resist part* ...eeeeeeiiiwwwwww.... ; P
<<and when she asked "WHY IS SOMEONE FROM *NORWAY* CALLING YOU?!" I told her that lain and val and I phone chat all the time, too. which is...err...sorta...>> ....Totally false. *is doubled up laughing* ...So, everything's still kosher with the folks? Better be extra careful; they'll be onto the trail now. <<oh...lain...Val...I need your respective address's and phone numbers; I cannot access my copies. :P>> Check yer email... and what ever happened to that pic you said you were gonna send me!? o.O
<<(I'm gonna blame noticing this on head trauma...No, Wait!! it's Gunjack's fault! yeah, that's it!)>> Since, as we all know, I *AM* the fount of all evil and corruption... ; ) <<Did you know that in the duration of the world tour, Angela gets attacked by tentacles of one kind or another on at least THREE seperate occasions?!>> And I'll bet none of 'em were in Japan, either. Though if *I* were a tentacled freak *Jun: "God forbid!"*, I think I'd keep my appendages FAR away from anyone with that many pointy ends...
<<Gunjack does indeed have a sister. She can be rather fun to talk to. (at least, when she isn't ripping the connections out of the wall...>> What can I say? She ended up with my aggressiveness, my brother's temper, my dad's stubborness, and my mum's irrationality. Now that I'm some 30 miles from her personal ground zero, I can admit that the combination is pretty dang cool. ; )

Warpmind><<Hey, Gunjack! You even GOT a sister? };)>> Yep. A younger sister, even. And before anyone gets ideas, I also have a machette and a basic unhderstanding of human anatomy. ; )

I was gonna get to more, but I'm bored now. Time to go shoot things.

**Winterwolf falls down to the CR floor still laughing and curled up in a futile protective position before finally shaking it all out of his system**

I made the Top Ten!! Yippie! Looks like I'm fourth! ^_^

Hi everyone! Well Jif is almost behind me and then I should be on track juggling two big jobs as opposed to three big jobs. Still things are well. I'm just normally happy and in a good mood though I might not show it. That helps keep people from asking too much from me. ;)

Dreamie> <I'll have to have a talking to with those Choosy Moms> Good! Tell them stop making ridiculous changes that keep me at work till 10PM. :( <tickles WW> I better watch what I say at the Gathering or I'm in for it. Or maybe I'm in for it no matter what... ;P

Siofra> Hi! <Work has kept me really busy, and by the time I get home, I never seem to have enough time to do much of anything> I so know that feeling! Still I'm working on breaking out of the rut. I hope you manage the same. :)

Shadowrider> The "Hellos" have been passed. I also have a package that is on the way. You should probably get it some time this week! Oh and if you have time later... You left already? Next time then. :|

Welcome back Stephanie! :)

Congratulations to all that have finished finals and Good luck to all those that still have to take em! ;)

Daniel Johnson> LOL Well how about if we have a session of "Will the real Todd Jensen stand up?" This is where we ask questions that Todd is one of a select few that knows the answer. What do you think Todd? ;D

Caliope> Welcome back Cali! I'm so happy to see you back! ^_^ **FUZZY HUGZ** Me poke fun at you? No way! You're getting close to making me feel all guilty and have to make it up to you. **FLUFFY HUGZ** Am I forgiven? ;) <Roswell> It has gone cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs I tells ya! What do you think? <Miss Puerto Rico> So you are Miss Puerto Rico right? You just don't like to brag. It's okay SJ revealed the truth! ;P

Beth H> It is wonderful to see you found someone so special to you. I'm happy and feel good that you can share with us here. It means it is that much more serious. To continued joy! ;)

Sevarius Jr.> I must say you've been hot with superb commentary. You're regular TV breakdowns had my laughing. That's going to be the best preview I get of the upcoming season for sure. And I'll have to check out "Wolf Lake". The premise already pushes me to look forward to watching it.

Jannie> Well I'm glad Glory is such a joy. Hope your dad gets well soon and better luck on the next dresser! :)

Well that's all for now. Darn I was hoping to catch Shadowrider before he left. See ya later gators!

Don't forget: the Gathering 2001 is still accepting registrations by mail until June 11! You can save yourself a wait at the registration desk by signing up ahead of time. There's also still time left to order t-shirts and calendars, and we've also worked it out so there's a little more time left to grab a seat at the Awards Banquet, too. Surf on over to:
