Lynati- I thank you for the welcome information. I have finished all four seasons of Timedancer in under a week, due to liberal lack of sleep, and can say I enjoyed it but not as much as the original. Will probably start into Pendragon after finals.

As to the other part, I'm afraid I must say no. I've got a fertile imagination, but I prefer building my own playgrounds to using others, no matter how many monkey bars it has.

Blinks. Looks at CR, Blinks again.
Wow! The CR seems significantly quieter since my last post a bunch of weeks back.
So, did anyone miss me? (Josh, please don’t answer this :p )
No, I didn’t think so. (I just took away Josh’s fun, hehe)

Been extremely busy w/ school and life in general, I’m sure most of yall’ know all ‘bout that!

I finished the first season of Gargoyles, and am 4 or 5 eps. into Timedacer season 1. I’m still impressed with how well done everything is. As is, I don’t think Timedancer is quite as good as Gargoyles; but, then again, Brooklyn never was my favorite character.

Up until recently, I’ve been a closet Gargoyle fan, but Lain (she’s so sweet, in a sassy kind of way) changed my ways. I’ve showed my mom (I’m 21 and was born when she was 29, you do the math) Awakenings 1 – 3.
Mom. Likes. Gargoyles!!!
Just 66 more episodes to go.
Just don’t expect to see her at a gathering.

The R.P.G. I was in, Gargoyles: Guardians of Edinburgh has fizzled away; sad, sad. So, me and two other friends are going to be starting a new one. Of course it’s going to be Gargoyles based, but the theme is still undecided; we want to get feedback from all the members first before deciding. Why am I telling you this? Because I’d like to welcome everyone here to join in. Those who are worried about not enough time… don’t, the RP won’t start until mid June. Check it out!

Happy Easter & God bless.

Three weeks to go. Two full weeks and then finals week, but it is still a long way to go. Two paintings to do and print wprk and also two regular classes to eventually start studying for. I'm sure someone has it worse but it's still a lot to do.

Lain- That sucks, I et the same thing with my extended family. None of them care about anyone else but themselves. My Grandmother called me this week, who I had not seen or talked to since December to ask for her suit case. That was all she called for. Didn't even start off by asking how I was or how was school just her suit case, which I didn't have.

Josh- congrats at filtering through the BS. Hope this job is everything you wanted, would suck to go through this to find out you hate being there.

Spacie- I have this picture in mind of Velvet wanting to go sniff and greet everything that moves in your garden. You're almost free from U Can't Finish, *hugs and kiss*

The Warped One lives!

Bud-Claire- are you concerned that a fail will mess up your GPA or lose a scholarship or something?
<<Not quite the kind of bugs that I meant>> I like the rolly polly pill bugs, those were always fun.

Lynati- So what excatly is expected to run a panel or presentation? I've never done one before.

I am a total screw up. I needed to drop that class by today, but I didn't get it done in time. So, now I'm stuck with it. I'm so dumb. (And I missed a quiz this week, since I thought I was dropping the class. Someone shoot me.)

<<Expel her.>>
That sounds odd... But it's not my decision. She'll be leaving next month, anyway. (Woohoo!)

<<With a bomb.>>
But set to go off _after_ he's had time to eat a bit of the fruit. Waste of fruit, otherwise. ;)

Or maybe you'll still sleep badly, out of habit.

Okay, I'm back. Its been a VERY long two days, with much background to cover it. Sadly, most of it is under the NDA I haven't signed yet because its an Apple internal process and we're not supposed to discuss it. The gist of it is that there was a communications error between the department interviewing me and HR, offers went out before they were supposed to, etc.

The upside is that after two days of flat-out demanding that Apple either make me an offer or tell me to go away, they made me an offer. I'll probably be joining the consumer portables team (they make the iBook, among other things), but I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing yet. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook), it means that Gathering is probably out for this year. Perhaps I'll grace you all with my presence next year.

When combined with other events of the year, it makes this the best year of my life, and its only 4 months in. I might as well kill myself in December, because it can only go downhill from here.

Lynati: <<ignore josh>>: I can never be ignored.

Attila: <<article>>: He'll probably try to blame this one on the white man too.

Gside: <<You'd like to think so>>: Actually no. If that was easy, I could build one myself.
<<for enough of the gate you would>>: Don't bet on it.

Bud-Clare: <<It'd come in handy>>: Oh, the evil I'd do.
<<You might be getting predictable>>: Have been for years.
<<Useless bint>>: Expel her.
<<Try some alcohol for that>>: Tried that on thursday night. The long island iced tea didn't quite knock me on my ass the way I'd hoped.
<<Send him a nice fruit basket first>>: With a bomb.

Warpmind: <<Try as you might, you're not getting rid of me YET>>: They've been trying for over two years, yet here I am.

Hudson: <<I love WD drives, really. you put a little load on them, and they start to kill data at heavy access points on the platter>>: Don't you think that might be a bit of an extreme generalization?

Niamhgold: <<you _do_ already rule GE>>: All the more reason to conquer another company.

Spacebabie: <<Those are worse than Pity whores>>: Significantly.
<<you must be nervous>>: I was. And now the ordeal is over, and I plan to sleep like a baby.
<<It?s called life and the real world>>: That's just it, this has never happened to me before and likely won't again. No other company would ever get away with treating me like this, I just happen to *really* want this job.
<<You need to be here so I can kick your ass>>: Too bad for you then.
<<Sometimes you display the IQ of one>>: I'm not hurt.

Lain: <<if you plan on impressing your ukranian step-relatives by carefully hand-dying traditional ukranian easter eggs>>: ...then you're friggin insane.

Okay then. I've been up since 815, spent 3 hours of my day in the car, starting to get sick, and have a Disturbed concert tomorrow. If you don't mind, I'm going to go become one with my bed.

Leo> <<after closing the new window and trying again>>: Huh. I went through a bit of the site and come back, but it still gave me the login thing, but closing worked.

Warpmind> <<freaked out at a paperful of eyes staring at everyone and everything>>: You have Hellsing, right? I'd think you'd be used to numerous eyes. And I just found out today that Hirano Kota, Hellsing's creator, at some point made a Cowboy Bebop H doujinshi.

The end is near. Well the end of this semester that is.

I’m still weeding and when I’m done I’m thinking of putting in some wood chips around the pineapple plants, maybe get a few actual plants and put then in there as well. Then sprinkl on the shells from my mother’s sunflower seeds.

While weeding I put Velvet on the harness and brought her out. She stayed close and it looked like she was trying to help because she kept on biting at the weeds and spitting them out.

I made caramel apples last night…and mom bought candies…Hershey treasures, Jelly bellies, robins eggs, Cadbury cream eggs and Peeps.

**********Grr missed Angel again so just Buffy spoilers***************************

Nice to see Joss giving some of his Firefly actors some new roles.

That image of Faith trying to kill Spock was priceless.

The other British Slayer in training got killed.

Xander Got his eye poked out!

I’m a bit surprised at the end. Willow was next to Xander’s bed. Shouldn’t that have been Anya with Willow next to Kennedy’s bed?

I know Willow and Xander are best friends and all but shouldn’t they be with their lovers?

Lain: For cheap (not free) webhosting, I strongly recommend axisproductions.com. They host kicktothenuts, supercars.net, and a bunch of other sites. Personal sites are like $10/month for a rediculous amount of space, ftp access, POP setup, and a bunch of other stuff. Great uptime, fast service.

Hi, gang. My skills are improving already. But not much beyond eyes, I'm afraid... At least I can draw relatively believable eyes now, even if I still need to work on the *rest* of the face, not to mention the body... :P

Gside: Got your mail. And your suggestion regarding my drawing presumes that I have any skills in advance. Alas, my attempts at drawing a, say, cat would result in something resembling a Cthulhoid version of the T-74 from Those Who Hunt Elves... :P

Anyways, as it seems I'll get some driving practice about now, I'll leave with a statement from a member of my regular gaming group... "Your mind is like a Lovecraft novel. Dark, twisted and loaded with more tentacles than any human should be exposed to in a lifetime." }:)

Status of ketnar.org and the TGS website over at gargoyles-fans.org

I'm really getting tired of this. :P

The hardrives in our new server turned out to be knockoff western digital drives (Yes, i know, complete and utter crap - i didnt build the thing. i should have asked about that before we put the damn thing into use. 20/20 hindsight..) Which is where all our problems have stemmed from. First broken raid mirrors, and then mysterious file corruption, and soon after that, damn near complete drive failure.

Good thing we had two drives. One was active for use, and one was simply a backup copy of what was on the active drive. (hindsight, 20/20!)

I love WD drives, really. you put a little load on them, and they start to kill data at heavy access points on the platter.

We are pulling eveyrthing over into a backup server, which is NOT using WD drives. Its a pretty little beast, dell 1550, loaded, with lots of space for eveyrthing.

Websites, mail, and databases will be back online as soon as possible (sometime this afternoon/evening). sorry for the repeate issues over and over again. :P

*Warpmind strides in, a determined look plastered on his face.*
Hi, gang. Know I haven't been around much of late, but I've had a load on my mind. One thing, for example, is the utterly and truly monumental task of teaching myself to draw manga-style. This is comparable to trying to put out a bushfire using only a shotglass of water. It's possible, but it's likely to take a lot of time, and a load of work. I'd compare it to walking on water, but frankly, that's been done. (By me, even, though I'll be the first to admit that when I did it, it was December/January, and frickin' COLD!)

Anyways, I live, I make myself busy with all sorts of stuff, and I might get around to hanging out here more again. Try as you might, you're not getting rid of me YET. ;)

Well, I'm on vacation at my parents' at present, so I should get offline and be *Shudder* social, I guess. Or maybe I'll just flop down on the sofa and get started on Carpe Jugulum. (Finally gotten to it in the series - no wonder my mind is like a crowbar; inflexible and bent at both ends...) So, later, folks. And Be Weird, Well, and whatever you like, but I'll not expect anyone here to be *Good*. Unless it's being good at being bad. };)

Palestinian Abu Abbas Captured in Iraq
Tue April 15, 2003 08:10 PM ET
By Jane Sutton

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Veteran Palestinian guerrilla leader Abu Abbas, who masterminded the 1985 hijack of the Achille Lauro cruise ship, has been captured by U.S. special forces in Iraq, the U.S. military said on Tuesday.

U.S. Central Command, which is overseeing the war in Iraq, said in a statement that Abbas was picked up in a raid in southern Baghdad on Monday evening.

It said his capture "removes a portion of the terror network supported by Iraq and represents yet another victory in the global war on terrorism," although Abbas has long renounced violence and Israeli has allowed him to travel to Gaza.

Asked what would happen top Abbas now, Central Command spokesman Maj. Brad Bartelt said: "Justice will be served." He gave no further details.

Abbas, also known as Mohammed Abbas, was sentenced in absentia in Italy to life in prison for planning the hijacking of the Italian cruise ship in the eastern Mediterranean.

The hijackers killed a disabled elderly American Jewish passenger, Leon Klinghoffer, shooting him and pushing his wheelchair over the side of the ship.

Abbas, who is now in his mid-50s, has spent much of the last 17 years in Iraq. He has traveled in the Middle East and stayed for some time in Gaza with the permission of the Israelis.

Although he had been the target of a manhunt after the Achille Lauro incident, the United States dropped a warrant for his arrest several years ago.

A hero of battle to Palestinians and the incarnation of evil to Israelis, Abbas became portly in middle age, his hair gray after decades as a fugitive.

While he was not on board the Achille Lauro, Italian courts sentenced Abbas in absentia to five life terms for planning the operation.

In a 1998 interview with Reuters, he called the ship hijack a "mistake" and said the PLF mission had been to use the ship as transportation to Israel for an attack on a naval base.

"The ship was only a means of transport like any other means we used to reach our goal," Abbas said.

The Israeli Supreme Court declared Abbas immune from prosecution in Israel over the Achille Lauro in 1999 after he was allowed to return to Gaza by an Israeli Security Committee which had concluded that he had renounced violence.

There were reports in January that he was in Egypt to take part in talks to end Palestinian attacks on civilians in Israel, but Egyptian authorities denied he was in the country.

"THE WHOLE WORLD IS CHASING YOU"

Abbas, who is married, was born in Haifa. He moved to Syria and studied Arabic literature and English at Damascus University.

He joined the PLF in 1965 and after it splintered over the years, retained control of the main pro-Arafat wing.

His PLF operated under the umbrella of Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Liberation Organization and he used imaginative methods, including hang-gliders, to penetrate Israeli defenses.

"I've been chased by the world now for 20 years. When America is chasing you, the whole world is chasing you," Abbas said in the 1998 Reuters interview at his office in the Palestinian-ruled Gaza.

The Central Command statement said one of the key objectives of the war in Iraq had been to "search for, capture and drive out terrorists who have found safe haven in Iraq."

It added: "This mission success highlights the U.S. and our coalition partners' commitment to defeating terrorism worldwide."

Late last year, in an interview with the New York Times, Abbas distanced himself from Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda and condemned the Sept. 11, 2001 hijacked plane attacks on New York and Washington.

While an active Palestinian resistance fighter two decades ago, however, he had declared the United States a legitimate target.

In a 1986 interview with NBC he warned Americans the PLF would start hitting targets in the United States, saying that then President Ronald Reagan had replaced Israel as the Palestinians' number one enemy.

"In the beginning our operations were only targetted at the Israeli enemy in Israel," he said. "America is now conducting the war against us on behalf of Israel. We therefore have to respond against America in America itself."

I sat through all those boring lectures (boring because I'd actually done the readings), I got A's on two of the three quizzes... Argh. That's not fair. He's got really screwed up ideas regarding grading and deadlines and such. Anyway, this will be my first time dropping a class, although I should have a couple of times before. (I once got a C in a class which I genuinely liked just because I had a really horrible cold for the entire first half of the quarter, and was too stupid to drop the course. Interesting. Newbie, don't bite, don't get too upset if there are hidden rules of etiquette on here I'm not cognizant of- it'll probably be my only post anyway.

Two weeks prior, I remembered an odd little animated series from a few years back, and in my drunken state, decided 'gee, I should watch it.' A mere 13 days later, not only have I rewatched all 78 episodes (Including Goliath Chronicles- see above disclaimer about unknown taboos), but I've also read all three seasons of TGS's main Gargoyles series. My roomates were suitably frightened. I'll start on Timedancer soon, but not sure I'll get into the other two.

The first part of this post is to thank all of the people who wrote what I've been reading. You've more or less singlehandedly restored my faith in fan-fiction after a three year hiatus from reading any of the sort, and writing a fair bit, but that's another part of another story. The quality is, with a few errant bumps, very good and more importantly captures the 'feel' of the show.

The second part is a rather plaintive cry which I'm sure some will answer with a disgusted, tired relink to a page I've managed to miss. When (if?) will there be new episodes of the original Gargoyles series, one, and (projecting a bit into the future and my future questions) the other series? I did a little research- the Current Episode page only has a hard date for Pendragon, which I said before, doesn't interest me *yet*. There's a nebulous hint as to a fourth season of the main gargoyles thingy, but the other two have nothing. I did catch a reference to the 'cycle' of publishing, so I may assume that after the next season of Pendragon, there will be another series getting its run of publication. I only hope that whatever it is, I can get interested in it by then.

Thanks for your time, and I'll be reading all the replies to this, even if I don't actually respond.

I was nervous wereck the start of last week.
Last monday registration started put I couldn't register until last wednsday.

but I got them all!!!! I got all the classes that I need. Now my school better not pull another one over me.

last tuesday there was a Support Our Troops Rally. Some immature people covered themselves in fake blood and just stretched out on the ground pretending to be dead Iraqi citizens.

I understand if it was a Pro War rally but it wasn't it was for a Support our troops. Wether for or against the war you should support the troops. I swear if i ever so much see a hippy spit on one of OUR soldiers I wll a rrange a meeting. Netweem my fist and their face.
Hey since the soldiers defend our nation I feel it's only right I defend them.

Last week was also my little cousin's spring break. she'll be eight on May 3rd and she's a genious. We got together at Cici's pizza. She counts everything. I do not know how she could be related to us. She didn't get it from her father's side of the faimly...wich is our side.

And with Spring here I started to sdo some work in the garden. I've been yanking up weeds. I actually love it if it weren't for those hornets.

Voice Cast Sighting...

Last night, I just realized who the actress is who's been playing Det. Laura Caine, sister-in-law to Horatio Caine (David Curuso) on CBS's "CSI: Miami." It's Salli Richardson... sporting a long mane of wavy dark hair and hiding her recognizable voice behind a Spanish accent. Which is what kept me from realizing it was her for this long, as the last time I watched her on "Family Law" she had her hair cropped really short.

So anyone who's a fan of Salli but can do without the Tony Danza... keep your eyes on "CSI: Miami." She's not a cast regular, but she's been in four or five episodes so far. It normally airs on Mondays at 10 PM Eastern.

Wheee!
And no, I'm not dead.
I think I finally kicked the anxiety, or at least enough so I can eat. I lost 10 lbs. in a week though. Long and involved story, email me if you really care or just really want to know (I won't subject anyone to the gory details- that and it's just a really long story so it would be a massivly long post).
I was offered the position of Editor-in-Chief of the paper for next fall. Our current EIC and the managing editor (second in command) are graduating. I had to go through a formal apps process, but I am being referred to by the faculty and higher-ups as the "heir-apparent" so I guess it's pretty much a good thing. Wheee.

My mommy is coming to visit me tomorrow. This can be both good and bad. I haven't seen her in awhile, but after awhile, we do fight. Hmmmm. Maybe time will tell,if you should all wonder if I still exist, due to that anyway.

I'm really starting to hate my TA for my humanities class. Supposedly a Mechanical Engineering grad student, I swear this girl doesn't have a thought between her ears. She explains basic engineering concepts incorrectly (and not just "dumbed down" for the humanities majors either, I'm talking about gross inaccuracies) and changes the subject when backed into a corner instead of admitting she's wrong and moving on.

I got my first of my new transformers collection today: Hot Rod. He looks so tiny! Doesn't even stretch across my hand in car mode. I remember them being much bigger, obviously.

Argh... What a rotten week. I had a project due last night, but I couldn't get it working in time, so I get a zero... and it was worth 25% of my grade. So, I get to drop the class, which I'm ever so thrilled about, for so many reasons. If that damned ice storm had happened _any_ time other than when it did, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but losing power that particular weekend really f*cked me up. (I loathe the computers in the lab, so I didn't go there to work on it, although in hindsight I should have, even though it would have taken me twice as long to accomplish anything.) Argh. *sighs* At least the due date for my AI project has been moved to Monday. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to finish that one, either, since it was originally due this Wednesday, and I spent all weekend working on the other project instead. At least I got to see my puppy this weekend. :)

<What do you expect to see happen in the upcoming season of "Pendragon"? >

Well I'd expect a few grail episodes with a possible cameeo from the Fisher King though you guys probably would reserve that for season five, definitely more of Morgana, more development on Lancelot like how he survived and also the seasonal and traditional thirteen treasures episode(I'm hoping he gets the chess board this year). Hopefully we might even get to see more gargoyle clans, less of Merlin and Mary and more of those characters introduced in the Gargoyles World Tour who were never properly developed.

Well, now that the room's cleared and the Top Ten is over, I thought that I'd ask a question here in the hopes of getting a little TGS-related discussion going.

The next cycle that will be seeing release will be Season Four of "Pendragon" (which should be coming out in the summer of 2003, if all goes well - we are, admittedly, still somewhat understaffed in the Edits Department). So I thought that I'd raise this question. What do you expect to see happen in the upcoming season of "Pendragon"?

*** GATHERING 2003 POST ***

There is still plenty of time to register for The Seventh Annual Gathering of the Gargoyles.

Greg Weisman (Series Creator & Supervising Producer), Thom Adcox Hernandez (Voice of Lexington), and Greg Guler (Lead Character Designer) will be attending the con.

For those of you who've never been to a Gathering before, it's a great place to meet and get acquanted, as those who've attended can well attest to.

As mentioned before, there will be panels discussing various expects of the series, its fandom, and the animation industry. A Dealer's Room, a video room playing episodes of "Gargoyles", anime, a late night showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", an auction, and the annual banquet.

There is still time to enter the Calendar and t-shirt contests. This month, the Monthly Gargoyles Contest has been nice enough to contribute by making this month's contest "Gargoyles" in New York themed as our Calendar contest is. You can visit their page at...

http://mgc.gargoyles-fans.org

And we are always eager to have you all participate, if you have any panel ideas you'd like to contribute or even sit on, let us know.

http://gathering.gargoyles-fans.org

So if you haven't registered yet, please do so. This is one weekend none of you will want to miss.
