Yawn, what a weekend. Ever spend three days at a rodeo? It was more fun than I thought it would be.

Tails - with gerbils, their tails just snap off if you try picking them up by them. Probably a survival device for a prey animal, because as I remember their tails seemed to snap off like they had a built in break tab. Hamsters you don't have to worry, as they only have a little nub for a tail in the first place.

The 10 in 1 joystick is a neat little device but how can you possibly play breakout with a joystick??? You really REALLY need one of those radial paddle controllers.

And in a lot of ways, the games were a lot better back then. These days everything tries to be far too realistic and 3-d etc. Even in NES days there was a certain style that is lost on most of the games of today.

no, its not ringtail. ringtail affects the base of the tail, and this is at the tip-end of the tail. i believe this type of injury is called "de-gloving". the skin just sort off.. broke and then slipped off the inch and a half or so at the end of her tail. you can sort-of see tendons and muscle and there was lots of bleeding. as i understand it, the normal outcome for this type of thing is that the exposed section of the tail will shrivel up and just fall off.

Oh, that's right, it's Sunday!

We just got a blast from the past toy ... this Atari joystick that includes 10 of the classic games. It makes Becca laugh to see the things we used to think were absolutely cool and state of the art! It makes me wince to see how badly I did at what used to be _my_ game, Breakout! ;) I've never been that much of a video game whiz. Tetris is the most intense that I'll play.

Got lots of updates and stuff going on. Cover art for my next two books: Black Roses and A Gnome Away From Home (the first of the Silver Doorway series, for kids). News about an upcoming naughty game sourcebook ... which is looking for art submissions! Clickie for the latest!

Household has just increased by two mice. Both males, or else the household would soon increase by approximately nine thousand mice!

I got a parking ticket. I am cranky. My street sucks.

I'm going to be out of town for the rest of the week. (Again.) My puppy has a hernia, so she's having surgery this week. :(

My birthday is friday, and it will very likely suck. I wanted to do something nifty this year, but I couldn't actually think of anything (anything cheap, anyway), so... nothing. So, all I get for my birthday is Daniel Jackson naked, which won't be as much fun as it sounds. ;)
