Guess I'm too early for the wipe, but I'll post this anyway.

DPH> Interesting. But then that is the page on the site that gets the most hits after the main one. I think it might have to do with the fact that so many other sites are listed on that page, so that the link to my page shows up when they are running searches for those other sites.

TGS: OotB> I appreciate the summary of previous seasons, and the reporter's commentary which helped remind us of the overall picture. The poison is an interesting plot element, though I wonder if it's meant to limit Merlin's aid in future quests, just as it seems Rory will soon be relegated to a cameo role. I suppose they are the most powerful characters after Arthur himself, so perhaps this is meant to make the group's future quests more of a challenge. I still find it hard to believe that Morgana really cares about Mary, however. Nigel I can believe, because sometimes love between a man and woman just happens, defying all expectations and reason. But it's a little different when you're accepting a new child into your home, one who isn't even related to you. If the child was very young and you could at least raise it and come to think of it as your own, that's one thing. But Mary is a teenager, old enough to have become her own person, and at most Morgana can hope to be her friend or an older sister figure. Even worse, Mary has joined Morgana's enemies, which should have given her pause before she became too attached to the girl. I just don't think the two have had enough interaction for Morgana to have formed any strong bonds with Mary. Mary certainly doesn't feel any love for Morgana. The only thing I could believe is that Morgana loves the *idea* of having a child, and wants to be Mary's mother just for the sake of being one.

Greetings;

Just escaped from my lab and went out to see a movie. By popular vote it was decided to go and see Pirates of the Caribbean, and to my surprise it wasn’t bad. The story needs work, but Depp's performance more than makes up for it. It was so over the top, as be make the entire movie worth the $8.50 to see it. Don't be looking for any Oscars here, but it's an amusing distraction.

Fire Storm: Actually the average stats for the suit are 35mph vertical speed and 60-70mph horizontal speed (so about 20 ft across for every 10 ft down). You can check the website of the manufacturer if your interested

Yea!!!
Turns out my dad was on MSNBC today. Right now he is in Balad Iraq, and told me lotsa times that he doesn't wanna talk to reporters, he has a job to do. According to my gramma they taped him talking to some soldiers, as b-roll of sorts. Thing is, I watch the news tons, and this morning, I neglected my duty. I DIDN'T SEE IT!! Yeah ok so it was just like some news blurb, nothing much, and he's been in the military along time so I don't get to ever see him much, but I know that I can talk to him on the phone anytime. Anytime except now. I actually miss him this time. Sidenote: I watched Black Hawk Down the other nite and, for the first time, freaked over a movie. I actually had to leave the room. Too many soldiers in desert cammo getting shot at by RPGs. Kinda something like the stuff Dad has had going on. The attack on July 3rd were 17 Americans were wounded, 11 Iraqis killed; Dad was in on that. He said they just basically figured out where they were firing from and tanked'em. Also found like $400,000 on the bodies. He suspects that they were paid off. And that 2nd servicewoman to die? He knew her, she was in the bravo company of his group (forgot word for one step up from company). Dad is in the HQ part of that "group" but used to be in bravo. The official news release said "non-combat injury" but he says it was something more. Something that CentCom wouldn't be to proud about. Hence, the scew.

I miss my dad!

Yeah... that doesn't make sense...
I was trying to say that Sevarius would probally use the virus some day. I can't see him saying "Oh well. Didn't get used, so I may as well never use it again!"

Missed the Gathering yet again. I am SO hoping to start going regularly soon.
Liked the revelation about Lexington. Won't change my (partially unwritten, mostly unpublished, but all planned) fanfic, but it is kewl to know for certain now.

Misc little Pendragon thing: Please tell me that they have a satellite phone, a very good cell phone, a GPS, or at the very least, some pre-paid phone cards and some postcards! I mean, really! Knowing what they know about Avalon, I really hope they have plans to keep in touch! I am really surprised Elisa never picked up a pack of post-cards early in her journey.

DPH: <Good thing I saved a copy of the email I sent you. I just sent it to you>
If LM hasn't responded to you, sorry, but she rarely gets time to go on-line. I just happen to have way too much of it at work.

Gside: <I remember hearing rumblings of bronze a while back, and it is the most common cast metal, I believe>
I WANT MY FOUNDRY!
***takes breath***
BUT I have told myself that I cannot work on it until I have the home improvement projects I have started complete.
(I already have the floor refinished in the hallway... now I just have the electrical... and gutters.)

Christine: I really like how you are wrapping up your stories. (Merlin reminded me of Albus Dumbledore, though!) I hope that you mention what happened to Ebon/Thailog, Jackal and Hyena, but I will take what is given. Can't wait for more, but I dread their coming. Catch-22, eh? I want to read more, but with every one you are closer and closer to finishing for good.

Lynati: <el Gate was cast in bronze. the "blue" part was patina'd. I'm thinking glass for future variations>
Did you cast yourself, or did you have someone else do the final cast for you? (Curious)
Any pics? Metallic paint? Hmm... You know... given the shape of the Gate, powder coated blue could have worked too...

Yggdrasil: <That link's about the Birdman suit for skydiving>
Yeah... any idea on the glide/slope ratio? 10 ft down, 1 ft forward, better or worse?

Todd: <I suppose that I should have thought out "The Goddess of Winter" much better when I wrote it, and for that I am sorry.>
Eh, don't worry about it. I personally liked it.

Airwalker: < Oberon goes on about how she's created a PENDRAGON version of DI-7/CV-1000>
Hmm... Imagine Sevarius or Demona getting their hands on the poison that Merlin has and combining it with the CV-1000. Speaking of which, I SEVERELY doubt that Sevarius would never use the carrier virus.

if you dont live in or near the Middle TN area, you can buy it online just click my name to get to the link. There are no clips on the Gargoyles Cons in this film, even though I had mentioned it as being one they might want to see and add to the film to the couple that created the film a few years ago. but its still a great film to watch. yes, I'm in this film as well along with a good deal of the other people in the anime club I'm a part of. though its a bit of a background thing for me near the beginning of the film. I'm outside the outer limits store, while some announcements are being made, chatting and walking with a friend and you end up only seeing my body from the waist down, but I am noticable due to me wearing a black trenchcoat ;). but anyways....overall, its a good film and had won two awards: the Audience Choice Award For Best Documentary Feature at the Dahlonega International Film Festival in Dahlonega, Georgia 2002 and the Best Documentary Feature at the Atlanta Comic Con Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia 2003. it'll show clips of Pope Hentai of OLAC. You'll get to hear the Viking theme song. You'll get to see someone drink screwdrivers at a con, then throw up in a ventilation shaft the next day. it'll have clips of Anime Weekend Atlanta, the Mephit Fur Met and of DragonCon. Special Guest appearences by Karen Black, Gwar, Jerry Only, Gabriel Koerner, and Dick Warlock, who was played Michael Myers in Halloween II.

Lain: Hee hee, yes we are.
I grew up near the Quad City area in Illi-Iowa on the Mississippi. (there are also five cities to this quad). I dunno if they still do it, but they used to take sponsorship of duckies (as a charity fundraiser) and dump them in near like Bettendorf, and the duckies would "race" down stream to like past Davenport, and the winner of the duckie would get some prize. Basically we were dumping tons of duckies in and it was weird. Thats all.

If you knew how incredibly disgusted/scared I am of spiders (hey, bees I can handle; I don't love them but I'm not immobilized by them ;)), you'd know how spooky that was. I just hope that I nailed them all.

Yay! Computers and network are fixed. My Gathering Diary is posted at Ask Greg. Click the link and scroll to find it.

It's been a week. Hot and muggy, the bees in an evil mood. I got my first sting of the season and I wasn't even working the hive. I made pickles yesterday - nine pints all told of spicy (a chili in each jar) slices. Next week it's those little bitty gherkins. And tomatos are just around the corner.

Butchered some chickens yesterday too. I'm behind on that project and the roosters are getting big and surly. The hens are nearly ready to lay and its going to be a nightmare if I don't thin a few more of them out quick.

Hmm I guess that's it except I think I'm finally going to make it to the movies this weekend. The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen opened today. Pirates of the Carribean on Wednesday and it looks better than it sounds. I live in hope.

Once again, I apologize if I'm stealing someone's color.

I posted a question just before the board got wiped about the current season of 'Pendragon', more specifically, the episode 'Return to Avalon'.

Arthur is going on a quest to find a cure for Merlin, who's been poisoned by something so potent that not even Oberon's magic can cure it. Titania tells him to seek a path that other knights have trodden but he himself has not, and that if he finds what he seeks, it will be as refreshing as a glass of water to one dying of thirst.

Now, calling up whatever you might know of Arthur, be it through Monty Python or the 'official' tales and knowledge of Christian lore (or even the movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"), does anyone else here think Arthur is going on a hunt for the Holy Grail?

Agreements, disagreements, comments on my lack of sanity? I'm interested to hear what you people think.

Ciao.

Just a quick note to announce two new stories:

The Dissidents: Castle of Light -- this is the conclusion of the Dissidents series, in which Corwin finds himself in a strange place that would be any other male's idea of heaven.

Cold Hearts -- wrapping up the Godiva/Gabriel/Angus/etc. storyline; the young males want to come home, but their mother still wants to keep them out of Godiva's clutches.

Both stories contain some adult material (but not nearly as much as the Godiva devotees might want).

I'm also home computerless. Damn Windows XP Pro. Long story short. The computer we use as a server started intermittently not serving the internet to the rest of the house computers. Since we're in the middle of a remodel the screen (which doubles as a tv and the wireless keyboard) sit on a shelf. This is fine for watching DVDs, but the couch is too far from the screen for comfortable computer use which means that you have to stand, balance the keyboard and type. It sucks. Anyway, the problem got worse, various fixes were tried and the conclusion is the computer is just showing its age and will probably die shortly. Solution: new computer. Keen. Unfortunately, getting everything to talk to each other isn't as easy (is it ever?) as Microsoft claims. And the service pack that's supposed to fix some of the connectivity issues shuts off the USB ports. Meh. So we're going to try reloading XP again tonight and see if we can't get everything back together.

I've done my Gathering Diary too. Of course, it's sitting on my laptop, but when I've got access I'll post it at Ask Greg.

This is driving me crazy. I sent my hd to local company to copy the contents. Apparantly, my Gateway's go back feature is getting in the way of accessing the hard drive. Well, the trade-off was nice: it's real easy to remove and add parts to the inside of my pc.

I found out my telephone number to login, but forgot to ask for the dns number. Joy! Joy! Joy! I'm going to get it today.

Meanwhile, I could use a couple of miracles. Miracle #1: my hard drive is still operational. Miracle #2: I don't lose any files.

I've seen the NBC "Merlin" mini-series myself, and even bought a novelized adaptation of it, a trilogy which fleshes out some of the parts in the mini-series that they sped over and even includes, at the end, a brief history of the real-world development of the Arthurian legend from Roman Britain all the way down the end of the 12th century and a bibliography for further reading on King Arthur and Merlin (including Howard Pyle and T. H. White).

The mini-series, by the way, influenced our portrayal of Mordred a little in Season Three ("Ripper" and "The Once and Future King") in his being a cynical wisecracker.

Belated congrats to Spacebabie and Revel. :D

Heather: Yeah I remember that one. My cousin (who is the same age as me *21*) and I were in the same art class in high school (although she truly sucked at it and I did all her homework for her when the teacher wasnt looking). Anyway she had watched that movie and was completely taken by Sam Neil (is that his last name? dunno...) and was also infatuated with this kid that sat across from her at the art table. She gave him a code name so she could talk about her infatuation with out him knowing. Codename: Merlin (heh, sounds like a TGS title :)). She would blither on and on about "Merlin" in class and he never knew the difference. It was funny. Really. She would say it like this: Muherrrlin like some bad accent or something. She also was the same cousin that answered "jello" to the midterm question of _________ caused the fall of Greco-Roman civilization. All because I told her to put an answer for everything, "I don't care if you write down jello". She took me serious.

Saw Finding Nemo. Twice. It rocks.
I'm also taking my first Spanish class in 3 years (since high school- 4 years there). I tested into Spanish 3 because I can read it really well and the test was all fill in the blank type stuff. Now I decided to throw it all to the wind and just get over my fear and say the stuff out loud. Weeee! My teacher is so cool. She took us to a supermarket and is gonna spend a whole class time taking us to a restaurant. And no tests! But we are learning alot, she is just encouraging us to speak more.

Spacebabie>> Do you remember a tv movie called Merlin? Sam Neill as Merlin and Martin sHort was in it as Maeve's servant Flik?
Well we watched the movie in British Literature class and many people, including myself, went O_o?? when young King Arthur slept with Morgana and their son was Mordred.
Now the way they put it is that Uther slept with Morgana's mother because he had the hots for her so Merlin diguise(sp) Uther has Morgana's husband, which remember created Arthur.

Hornets suck!
There was one inside my house the other day…my father killed it though.
Had a blast at The Gathering…whoo hoo!

****Spoilers for Pendragon****
Great start for a series! I love how Mary kept pointing it out to Morgana how immature it was of her to want vengeance for something that happened over 1500 years ago. I love seeing Arthur doubt his purpose and Rory wondering about his purpose as well. Kudos on the scene during the chase through London where he tried not to “Hulk” out when he was injured.

Seeing how they went to Avalon my guess is the rest of the series will be like the “World Tour” of in the second season of Gargoyles. I’m sensing that they might find one of the cures while on their journey, I also hope that we will get the occasional glimpse of the London clan once in a while.

Todd>>>I don’t know if you get Realms of Fantasy but in the latest issue they did a tribute to Shakespeare. They had the quote from Lear that was used in “Out of the Blue”
************Spoilers End***************

Mooncat<<<But like I said, I'm gunning for it and will have John Castaway's upper lip bare naked soon as can be worked.>>>Will any other parts of him be bare naked as well?

Josh<<<But I'm swamped like you wouldn't believe>>>Pulling a Vinnie?<<<. I do laptops.>>>I bet you do.

Gside<<<Your foot is inflamed because of faulty uric acid metabolism? >>>He atleast I didn’t Sow anything :P<<<I prefer taylor's ham myself, or maybe really crispy bacon.>>>He was refering to the Spam someone posted before he posted.<<<I censor my own vocabulary.>>> “My Dick”x3 isn’t R rated…I doubt if it’s PG-13 rated too…not too mention people have quoted Greg’s “Bullshit Stephen Bullshit” in the past and nobody batted an eyelid.

Christine<<<boo-goddam-hoo, cry me a river, lady>>>Testify!

Niahmgold<<<who can forget that Owen is Xanatos's Bitch? ;)>>Or the way both Owens danced with each other.<<<a preview of Thom's ass in there!>>>Never mind the preview get with main attraction<<<And you sent it to Bestbuy?>>>We are valued customers there…they have fixed the printer before<<<What was wrong with it?>>>>Everytime I turned it on it made a rattling noise and I get an error message where I had to restart the computer. While at Bestbuy they did a little tooling around and they hooked it up to the screen. To my relife I saw my screensaver…well Revel drew it and all the icons plus one…a dormant virus. They are going to clean it up the virus and install an anti virus software.

Andrea<<<I threw her catnip mouse, and for like an hour, she kept bringing it back to me!>>>Cool a feline retriever. One of my cats likes to lick my face. I love reading about cats that have dog like behavior traits.

Heather<<<Well at least TGS put it that Mordred has a nephew that the tv movie of "Merlin" which really screwed me over about the storyline.>>> 0_o Huh?

Revel>>> SMOOCH! HUG! KISS!

Kick booty! I finally put a new layout up. I hereby order you to click my name and check it out (you WON'T be disappointed!). It took me forever to get the Div layers to line up right, so you'd all better like it...

And a warning, it's a pop up layout (its the only way I could get it right), and you have to have your settings on 1024 x 768 to see it correctly. It's Just a teensy bit too big to see it all in 800 x 600.

Yeah, I didn't manage to see all the folks I wanted to meet either, you included. I did buy the Owen and Puck face cards you did (I couldn't afford the set, but I *had* to snag those two as a pair).

I'm going to have photos up tonight or tomorrow night, depending. I'm going to want people to help me ID everyone in the pics, especially the group shot after Coney Island. Niamhgold: Oh, that was you who I walked in with? Shows how much I paid attention. Then again, I couldn't really remember anyone's name until like the last day...Being a con virgin, I was too chicken to really go up and introduce myself. I would have bid on one of you art pieces, but I didn't have any money :( And I'm refraining from telling my costume Idea because a) I like to torture people and b) I may change my mind, since there is another year before the next con. I will tell everyone eventaully, probably after I finish making the costume. Maybe you can sucker 2 other people into being the Weird Sisters as a trio, and change wigs throughout the day and REALLY confuse people! (evil laughter).

I swear my falily is cursed this week, first Dick (thats the family member that was taken to the hospital), then my sisters car battery dies, then the NEW one dies, and then my brother car (which is about a month or so old, my sister's car is about 15 months) dies too! So we have to share 3 cars with 4 people (it's a good thing I don't drive yet, since one of those remaining 3 cars is techically mine!). Why is bad Karma comming at us? Good Karma better find it's way back soon, hopefully in the form of winning Powerball numbers!

Holey metal, Batman! The room's been wiped!

And I missed the top ten :( Oh well--at least it was because of Comic Book Wednesday!

Life has been hectic, between work, freelance, and dealing with my van. My parents have also informed me they're stopping by my place in Baltimore for the weekend after they return from their anniversary trip; while that means food and some cheap fun, it also means that I may have to cancel on a party I've been invited to that Friday night. Curses. The good news is that my roommate for next year is coming down to visit next weekend, and that means someone who will actually hit the singles scene with me ;) My other friend, an ex-roommate, has an internship in the Caribbean and has thusly invited me to visit. Ah, if only I could... ;) In any case, some interesting outings are in the works. In the meanwhile, I've been hanging over my friend Tom, Jay, and Adam's place helping them assemble what will be a monster computer. Courtesy of Firaxis and Big Huge Games's spare parts, of course. Bwhahahahaha!

Wolf Urameshi: <Say, I have an idea: How about making the next Gathering in Puerto Rico?> I would have absolutely nothing against that--Puerto Rico's warm, and I like it hot. Or, at least, I'd prefer visitng Puerto Rico over Canada ;) ::ducks rotten fruit thrown by Lain::

Lynati: <danke muchly. wish I could have acutally gotten to speak to you at the con> Well, we did have that brief meeting in Mara's room... (hehe, doesn't *that* sound bad? ;)) How did you make out on the Pheonix Gate?

Winterwolf: <My face is really *red* in that pic with the art room mascot Einstein… I hope nobody starts asking either of us about the ‘Irished’ up drinks we had that day. ^_~> LOL. Well, uh, blame it on the heat... <Well we're still in NYC so if anyone wants to get together we'll be here up to the 9th> I wish I could have, but, right on schedule, my vehicle overheated ;) Hope you two had a blast while hanging around there!

Andrea: Sorry to hear about your family member. Glad they're doing better. <now the diagnosis is more along the lines to just pure heat exhaustion and dehydration.> Yeah. I had classic heat-induced brain melt this weekend. Not even dipping into a bathtub full of ice helped me out on that one! <I don't think I'll be wearing contatcs by then, I have this fear of touching my eye> Really, it's not that difficult. And it's a heck of a lot less painful than walking into walls. Trust someone who's worn super-prescription glasses since she was five ;) <and no, still won't tell what it is> I doubt anyone would deliberately copy/make fun of you. Plus, the less you tell people, the more likely someone *is* going to inadvertantly go as the same character. My costume idea, shall I get a chance to attend gathering next summer, is to go as the Weird Sisters, with the color of my wigs changing randomly throughout the night ;) I think you could pull off a Princess Katherine (just so you know, I was the girl who entered the Blue Mug-A-Guest with you on Friday night, when whoever was at the door was questioning the validity of our 18-or-older ages ;)). based on what I saw, that, or you could get creative and go as Opheila.
Gside: <That's even worse, though at least all my clothes are in the right places.> Well, if your clothes are in all of their places, why would my pictures be worse? Oh, the a$$. Hehehe. BWHAHAHAHAHA. And, Evil Stepmother Of All Laughs^3 In any case, you got slightly back at me by stopping by when I had to take a shower and making me suspicious the whole time that you were going to be turning the lights on and off (stupid outside-of-the-bathroom lightswitches...) <It wasn't so bad, right?> I've never been there. Is it worth the experience? <You are very weak> Yeah...I've been under--er, I mean--I've *moved* heavy things without incident before ;) <Back from New Hampshire, and glad to have air conditioning again> Unscathed? < saw where the Old Man of the Mountain isn't> Are the New Hampshirites still running around like chickens with their heads cut off about it? Last time I check, they wanted to write a new state song commemorating the "lost man". <Probably had somthing to do with leaving my mother up there, and only stopping once to get lunch.> I used to do the marathon drive (in 8 hours), but then my back started hurting from that. Now I have to take about four/five breaks to ensure comfort. <Working to get rid of the puff pastry we had from a previous experiment> Mmm. My boss's wife works at a place that gives her flats of Tasty Cakes, so my fridge is now stocked with about fifty blueberry, apple, and peach pies. Of course, I'm sure they don't contend with your homemade treats ;)

Spacebabie: <My computer that's in my room(The one I use for writing my fanfics) is at Bestbuy due to a small problem> ::shudders:: And you sent it to Bestbuy? Odds are they will give you the wrong type of RAM or something like that ;) What was wrong with it?

Mandi: Thanks for the journal. Whoo, I'm even mentioned. Yippeee! (crap, didn't get a chance to locate you there. I had wanted to, since you're from my area ;)).

Imzadi: <Thou shalt not count to four> Five! ;)
