Enters the CR clutching something shiney.

she glares at everyone before she tosses a golden apple into the room.

The apple lands without any damages and allowing people the easy view of what is written on the apple

vinnie>> <<Oh I have a very well developed sense of humor>> maybe you should try exercising it then ;) <<See!>> no, actually... <<Anyone who treats and kills his own people like Saddam did is a Terrorist>> uh, no. youve got your definitions mixed up there. the word "terrorism" is being flung about inappropriately far too much these days...
for starters, anyone who treats and kills his own people like saddam did is a "tyrant" or "repressive dictator". "Terrorism" is "the calculated use of violence or the threat of violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological." (this quote is from the US department of defence).
furthermore, "terrorism is intended to produce fear; by implication, that fear is engendered in someone other than the victim." so saddams ill-treatment of HIS OWN people is NOT "terrorism" it is "bad leadership" and/or "abuse of power". also, an act of "terrorism" is something that must be carried out against a civilian population, not against an army. thus, the current attacks on US soldiers in iraq, and the bombing of the cole are NOT acts of "terrorism" but more appropriately acts of "war" (unanswered or not).
note: i am not trying to be unduly anal about this, but the word is being misued and its resulting in the degradation of its meaning. not all nasty violence is terrorism - terrorism is only a very small, specifically defined TYPE of violence.
<<Of course if the media had not taken so light a hand with him, and surpressed their stories>> oh, you mean like how the media is taking a "light hand" and "surpressing the stories" of GW's alliance with, say, the leader of uzbekistan? who appears to be, by all accounts, just as bad as saddam? o.O

Now, now. You never know. Saddam could get Johnny Cochran to defend him at his trial. There will be no conviction if that happens. He may even use the Chewbacca Defense.

I can see it now...

"Ladies and Gentlemen of this supposed jury, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a wookie, from the planet Kishik. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. That does not make sense.

"Why would a wookie, an 8 foot tall wookie, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks. That does not make sense.

"But more importantly, you must ask yourself: what does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and Gentlemen of this supposed jury, it has nothing to do with this case. Look at me, I'm a lawyer, defending a major Middle Eastern dictator, and I'm talking about Chewbacca. I am not making any sense. None of this makes any sense.

So, when you're in that jury room debating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation, you must ask yourself this question: Does it make sense?

No. It does not make sense. If Chewbacca lives on Endor you must acquit. The defense rests.

my dad called me and i got to talk to him for like an hour and a half on this last tuesday. he said something big was going down, like dan rather coming back to the region big. he is currently at balad airport between tikrit and samarra. he had some buddies that fought in that thing 2 weeks ago where they took out like 40 iraqis over that currency heist. anyway. he told me he would send me an email when it was all getting ready to go (the big thing) he said that the first guys in there made their mark on history by taking bagdad, then another group made their mark by getting the sons. this thing going down was gonna be dad's group's last push at trying to make their mark on history. they were gonna try to get saddam (what else would be so cool?). dad tryied to call me yesterday morning. but i missed the call. he emailed me instead, it was that email i was waiting for. he wanted to know if i could pick up a present for cmas for my sis. there was a big white space. then i changed teh text color and there we go. it was all there. not the battle plan or anything, but hte news that they were getting ready to move on their plan, and to be watching the news. i emailed him to call me i would be home all day to day, and to be careful, then i went to work and waited.
holy cow holy cow holy cow.
ok granted, i dont know how much my dad's role is but he is in the fourth ID so now i gotta go watch the news and wait for a phone call!!!!!!!!!!!

As of now, I'm renegotiating my deal with Green Baron. Instead of being under his direct command, I declare myself an ally of his. On practical terms, it means he can't give me orders but instead I will help him out in ways I think best. I'm only siding with Green Baron because he's the lesser of two evils. By the way, I've been informed GXB's side doesn't take too kindly to neutrals.

Fire Storm - <Besides... Green Baron gave DPH space! That alone pisses me off! So it all balances out!> That was the price of my alliance with him. I'm not sure I can trust the other side and I can have my self-sufficient space station so that I can protect myself from would-be killers.

Dottie dog - <Holograms don't smell> Obviously, you have never been around my advanced holograms. The holograms bleed holographic blood and smell real. You'll have to use advanced scanners to determine what it is and isn't a hologram.

Todd/Ed> I'm sorry to see you guys go. You gave us a fabulous season of stories--thank you.

GB> You realize that a 'baronne' would be a baroness, right? *suddenly pictures GB with long black hair, glasses, and an eastern european accent*

****spoilers follow below this line******
TGS: Carbonek 2> I wonder how much marriage really means to Nigel, other than as something to help his public image. He doesn't want to postpone the wedding because he doesn't want any talk, but he's clearly uncomfortable about marrying Morgana and acknowledges that she's deceived him. He mentions the Connection in the beginning, but it doesn't come up again. Pity, because I would have liked to see him completely change his mind about Arthur, if not about Morgana. In the end, he marries Morgana out of pity. (It makes me wonder just how much Morgana's death would affect him later). Nice background info about Fiona--I guess the TA one was Mary's great-grandmother. Too bad we never got to see Mary interact with the Hunters.

It's a bit odd to see Marter and the clan plan an offense, as gargoyles are usually defensive. Is their only motive to get the Illuminati away from the estate? At this point they don't know where Carbonek will appear, or what the Illuminati is planning; it seems a bit early for them to be making plans of their own, and I don't know how Arthur could say something like, "these are the most likely positions that the Illuminati's soldiers will take up". As I mentioned previously, I wish Griff had more of a Grail-related role, considering how hard he tried to prove himself worthy during the season. Leading one of the clan groups against the Illuminati seems like something anyone could do. As for his speech to the clan, I also thought that was unnecessary. While Una and Leo needed convincing to leave the store back in "MIA", here the clan is fighting to drive the Illuminati away from the area, something that will not only help Arthur, but also drive them away from their home town. They shouldn't need convincing, not to mention the fact that several groups of them have been chasing Minions and such in past seasons, and going after the Illuminati should not now be seen as any different (the clan has no experience with them, so they would not even perceive them as a greater challenge). Michael's fear that their numbers will give away the fact that a clan is nearby doesn't really hold water--seeing even a handful of gargoyles would say as much. I guess the argument seems even less convincing to the reader since we know the Illuminati are already aware of them. I was also surprised that Briana did not stand by Griff. She might not like the fact that he leaves her behind to travel with Arthur, but that shouldn't be reason enough to betray him in his time of need (if that was even her reason. I'm surprised she's one of the strongest voices against the clan's participation; she's not even originally *from* the London clan). Even if she secretly didn't approve, I would have expected her to support her mate. I wish an explanation had been given for her behavior. It was good that Griff's speech reminded them that it is a gargoyle's nature to protect. I like how he makes reference to the Great Quest, probably without even realizing there's a prophecy about it.

Morgana's sudden decision to abandon her feelings for 'family' also seem off. Finding a new family has always been up there as one of her top goals, along with revenge. Her reaction to learning that Mary will be sacrificed should not just be fear for her plans being foiled, but also fear of losing her new daughter. Turning her to stone does not sound like an option she would consider. When she finally confronts Mary, she begs her not to throw her life away, but at this point I'm wondering how much of her sympathy is really an act. Telling the ravens to 'do whatever you must' to Mary also sounds like Morgana has given up on her. I suppose this marks the beginning of Morgana's self-destructive spiral into darkness. I don't see how there's really any chance at redemption for her after this (so I'm glad the writers don't bother trying to give her one).

Misc> Yay for cool english guys named "Giles"! I like Macbeth's line, "Madam, there is only one person in the world who can take my life, and with all due respect, it’s not you." I like how Arthur finally takes a stand and basically says, "No, I'm not going to do it. If that's the price, screw it." At the beginning of the fic, Mary makes comments about how she's not enjoying being a werewolf, which is actually the first time in a while she's made that remark. After her pro-wolf declaration in "Wolves" and how she keeps fondly thinking about Fenris, I figured she'd accepted and started appreciating the curse. Lastly, the revelation that it was Avallach was kind of an 'eh' moment for me. I haven't really been following the 'who's who' in the fae royal court, and didn't even remember him from before "The Godslayer". It's too bad, because I sense this was supposed to be a big revelation that was being built up towards the end of the fic. Ah well, maybe I'm just bitter it wasn't Duval. ;P

TGS: Carbonek 3> I like the opening shots with old characters from the series. Jen's dad finally dies, but we still have no explanation for why he was having visions.

I was 'eh' about Avallach being the FK, but I was actually disappointed/irritated that Tanaburs was also a fae. Granted, the Pendragon myths are often intertwined with Avalon myths, but I don't like having the fae be keepers of a holy human artifact. I'm not being 'racist', but I honestly don't see their involvement as necessary. They are two different sources of 'magic', and having one be involved with the other just seemed a bit over the top. I suppose what I also didn't like was the fact that Carbonek didn't even have anything to do with the Grail--it was just a sanctuary built by Tanaburs for Avalach to heal in, until Joseph asked them to store the Grail there. Did the Grail's magic suddenly take over the castle, deciding where and when it shiuld appear? Or were Avallach and Tanaburs bored with spending their lives hiding away in a castle, and decided to play god, choosing who was worthy enough to catch a glimpse of the Grail? Just how sentient was the Grail, and the castle, for that matter? If the castle was not originally built to house the Grail, why did it crumble when the Grail left? And by what right did Avallach decide that no one after Arthur should see the Grail? Had the Grail been waiting all this time for the one who sent those three knights on their journey to himself visit Carbonek, before at last disappearing? Or is Arthur the last survivor of a forgotten age when people were more pure and faithful, and no one afterwards deserves the Grail? Avallach says that his "work" was completed and passes the Grail's "tradition" onto Arthur, but there isn't any mention of what that is, or if Avallach made it up, or if he learned it from the Grail (did he also have a vision from looking inside it?). Basically, I think the "Fisher King"'s role should have been better explained.

Avallach's decision not to tell anyone that he was alive in order to maintain the order of succession struck struck me as quite similar to MacBeth's decision to let Lulach rule in his place.

I like how all the villains converge on the scene at once (it was good to split the forces into three groups, so that we didn't lose track of who was fighting who). I wondered why the gargoyles didn't just wait for the villains to pick each other off before joining in (and why they were in such a hurry to attack if the Castle clearly had its own defenses). Were the gargoyles trying to keep the villains from killing each other (was the point just to scare everyone off, or were they aiming to kill and permanently take out potential threats to their home?). I was surprised that Sybil didn't know about Rory (still, it made for an interesting battle). Dulcinea's speech to the Minions was kinda 'eh'. I don't know why they would be so impressed by the castle (surely Lucius has done magic in front of them before). I was surprised by her mentioning that they wanted "hope, glory, camaraderie". I thought they were just mercenaries, but seeing them as a band that just wanted some cause to fight behind makes me actually feel sorry for them. I was surprised that Molly saved Leba, considering how Leba's always been the one warning Rory against her. After this scene, however, Molly isn't mentioned again until the feast. I wish she was shown immediately after the battle, so that the others could be shown acknowledging her help and accepting her (something I noted missing back in "Rome Eternal", too). It might have been nice to have Avallach grant Molly permission to stay on Earth, maybe done indirectly though his wife (Oberon would have to obey his mom, after all). Or maybe they could have appointed Molly as one of the Griffin knights and made it her assignment to follow Arthur around. That way we would eventually come to learn more about that enigmatic group (and given poor Isfet abother avenue at getting revenge).

I was surprised that Singleton and Powel both had swords (Duval is no surprise, of course). Are all the upper eschelon swordsmen? (is it considered a gentleman's sport? do they fence in their off-time, instead of play golf?). Does this have something to do with the Illuminati's elite force being called "The Sword"? Anyway, it's no surprise that Griff lost, seeing as he doesn't use a sword (and was never trained as a squire). I'm a little disappointed that this 'face-off' with Powell was all that his adventures this season lead up to (what did any of it prove?). Unlike other posters, I didn't see the clan's battle as a loss, especially if they were only there to distract the enemy from Arthur (in which they succeeded). Besides, simply joining in the fight was itself a victory for a clan that never leaves the safety of its nest.

I enjoyed seeing Duval remain suspicious of Powell (after what Singleton told him, you can't blame him). I was also pleasantly surprised that Giles proved loyal. I guess you can't help but root for Duval, especially when he gets even with Singleton (and now I guess we're back to where we started, with Powell being Duval's main opponent).

It's too bad the castle was destroyed--I could have seen Arthur using Carbonek as a HQ for New Camelot (after all, it can travel all over the world, so theoretically Arthur could visit any of his international knights whenever he wanted--no more getting Leba to make travel arrangements). It sounds like the Great Quest isn't actually building New Camelot, but rather recruiting more knights on a world-wide scale (so I guess New Camelot won't even be a specific place; rather, the entire world is now Arthur's 'Camelot').

The best ending scene was probably Lucius's. I didn't realize it until Ed's comment that Lucius had killed innocents in the building when he had blown it up. Having been willing to sacrifice his only advantage (his magic) shows that he's deadly serious about his goals, and makes me respect him for the first time. He shows a lot of promise as a serious new threat.

Misc> The castle crumbling as the grail left reminded me of Indy III. Drugging Singleton's water supply reminded me of that episode in 'X-files' where they drug the water in Mulder's building. I like how you re-used MacBeth's "you'll have to do better than that" line. Avallach telling Morgana "what you desire is not justice but vengeance" also reminded me of Elisa's line to Goliath in HM3. Morgana's cries of "everyone is against me" reminded me of Demona's refusal to accept the truth. Merlin's gray hairs struck me as similar to Rogue's white lock (though hair is dead, so really it should change color except at the roots. Maybe Merlin's gray hairs will grow out). Having Morgana fall down the chasm was reminiscent of Gandalf's death scene, though it was over too quickly and felt tacked on; a let down for such a significant character. It should also have had more of a visible effect on Mary--the next line describes her as "looking at the outside world before her and her boyfriend", as if Mary had already dropped the memory of her stepmother in favor of her wonderful b/f (which you can't really blame her for, but it makes Mary look like an ungrateful, unfeeling jerk). The last scene between her and Nigel does nothing to dispel that illusion. Both Mary and her father were shown as too uncaring. Mary should have tried to console her dad. Nigel should show relief that his daughter is alive. Was Morgana really more important to him than Mary? (especially when you consider how uncomfortable he was becoming around Morgana). I wonder if being the Grail bearer was close enough contact to cure Mary of her curse (considering how she was complaining about it in Part 2). Or maybe Merlin will cure her--right after he tackles the vampyre problem (I was a little disappointed in him for not making them more of a priotity. He expresses doubt and then adds 'I may not have much time for it', despite the fact that Leba promised the vampyres he would help them, and that this was the only reason they let her go).

More Misc> While Arthur & Tanaburs were running from Morgana the Dragon, I wondered why Merlin didn't take advantage of the distraction to drink from the Grail (if he was cured, he could help them out). Also, I was kinda hoping Isfet would show up and use her dragon powers to control Morgana (and make her realize the price for playing with dark magic). I was surprised the Grail reverted her to normal (kind of a waste, since she dies soon after). Finally, seeing the Grail and table (along with Avalach--chair and all) rise up in a shaft of light was a bit too corny -_-*. But otherwise...

This season covered a huge amount of material with dozens of new characters and locations and plot points, and Ed and Todd did a great job wrapping it up in only three stories. The finale was very entertaining with a gripping storyline and lots of new surprises. I'm sorry to see it all end, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. Thanks for the great stories, guys!

DPH: <*presses a button* As of now, there are over 1,000 look alike holograms of Green Baron all over the world. Good look finding the real one.>
I enjoy a challenge. Come Dottie-Hound. Let us find us some usurper.
(I liked Usurper! Fun BBS game!)

Bud-Clare: <That's not quite the kind of initiative that this invasion needs>
Yeah, but what is a war without some conflict between the Knights of Mars?
<Don't make me beat your ass again.>
As if! Don't make me pull out the Sythe of Pain! Again!
<Anyone who would send a frenchman to negotiate deserves no mercy.>
Good point.
<*beats Fire Storm and Attila's asses some more, and demands an explanation*>
I am pro-alien, so that mean's I am on the Martian side.
And anyway... all is equal in pain and death.

Dezi: <Does this mean Fire Storm is a double agent?>
Na. Just because I work for both sides doesn't mean I am a double agent! All I do is kill and torture people. I never cared about who's side they were on and I most certainly won't start now!
Besides... Green Baron gave DPH space! That alone pisses me off! So it all balances out!
<*Beats Fire Storm's ass for crossing us*>
THAT'S IT! *pulls out his CDW/HP bat'o'beating*
It's party time! Shall I invite my children to play?
<Can I trust you with Dottie-dog? Yeah, prolly could, as she has an insane mind of her own, and is resistant to brain washing>
As long as she can find my quarry, she shall suit my needs!
<Besides, if you are a double agent, then as your partner on this mission, perhaps she can play brain washed and infiltrate the enemy!!!>
OR... she can be brainwashed, making you think she ISN'T brainwashed, and she can find out information for me... which I would probably know anyway... Head hurts...
Ah, screw it. Knight of Torture, Minister of Torture... pain is pain.
All is equal in pain and death.
I have an assigned quarry. That is all that matters.

Dottie-Dog: <Arrooooo! This way Fire Storm! I've caught the scent of the Usurper!>
Come. Let us leave this pointless bickering and deal with our quarry.
<How the frell do I know where Latvia is?>
I dunno. I dunna care either. He's that-a-way. That's all that matters.
<C'mon Fire Storm! Before the trail gets cold!>
We shall feast on the bones of all that stand in our way.

Ghost of Rev Attilla - I got somebody for you to meet - my Hunter. This cat is a very brave soul and a true mascot. She stold a mouse from a snake, persisently nagged me into getting catfood for her when I didn't feel like it. She's independent minded and not afraid to use her claws. The best part is . . she's on my side.

The Green Baron has been located in his secret base in Uzbekistan. Soon we'll have him.

My spies have reported that he has just appointed DPH Minister of Holographs and made him Captain General of the his Space Program, Fire Storm is Minister of Justice and Sadistic torture, while Aingeal is Minister of Intelligence, and Donald Rumsfled has been made Ambassador to the EU and Minister of strangling hippies.

Now, I will have him.....ah Shi'ite, he disapeared. Now I have to discharge my weapons.... I just bombed Berkely...I hope Josh is ok :)

Off early tomorrow to proctor SSATs for kids with special dispensations. At least I make money off it.

Lain> <<and it was dead boring>>: But now I see that I have the power to revitalize the CR.

Bud Clare> <<I could gripe about the apparent lack of Plato/Socrates slash>>: Actually, they just might have done it.

Green Baron> <<I herey appoint you as my sadistic enforcer>>: I'd have thought that'd go to Wilek, with only substitutes now that he has disappeared.

Revel> <<Springstein>>: That's two e's. It is now my duty as a Jersey boy to thrash you soundly.

Green Baron> <<And just because I'm in love with a Newfie girl>>: Oh, we'll rant and we'll roar like true Newfoundlanders. We'll rant and we'll roar on deck and below...

Revel> <<well pesonally I'd get my hands on Spacebabie... I think I'll just stop there>>: And !$@# some #!@? I didn't know you were into that.

Bud Clare> <<Is this how gangs get started? Out of boredom?>>: That's how just about everything got started. That, and getting drunk at a bar with other people (American Revolution, Phi Beta Kappa...).

Greg> <<I dub thee... Dame Deimos>>: Aren't you glad you didn't use Deimos first, so you could get some alliteration in there?

Fire Storm> <<In other eBay news, I think I found a way to pay for the weding>>: Selling videos of the honeymoon?
<<we need Captain Darwin>>: And his Chainsaw of Natural Selection. "Charles Darwin! He's our hero! Baggin' those with an IQ of zero!" The monkey has my leg! The Monkey Has My Leg!!!
<<Yeah, but you might like i>>: Oh dear, it needs... That?
<<What's the fun in that?>>: Still haven't figured it out. I think he likes complaining about priests' sermons.
<<Now you have to tell it>>: It's actually a short little tale (but the inscence incident would be a bit longer). While he was doing undergrad research at college, there was only one good chair in the office, that the students would share among themselves freely. That is, until a grad student came in who demanded permanent chair aquisition. This annoyed the undergrads, including my father, who decided to steal his chair and fasten it to the bottom of the elevator. When the grad student demanded "his" chair, they then told him it was in the basement.
<<I haven't waited and I can still achieve engineeringhood>>: Are you sure? Things don't look so good at the moment.
<<Wouldn't anything that there is only 1 of be one of the rarest relics?>>: Hey, there's only one of me.

Did you know that you can get an Imaginary Girlfriend on eBay?
In other eBay news, I think I found a way to pay for the weding...

Saw the new Battlestar Galactica Friday VERY early morning...
Total letdown. 2+ years of hype for THIS? Flow was too slow, and well, I just think it wasn't worth it.

Bud-Clare: <...real tentacles?>
Well, some are biological, some are animatronics, some are CG, but yes.
<Huh. Yeah, they probably would like it. Damn.>
Yeah. Besides... you would then have to punish your systems when they stop working
"Has Mr. Hard Drive been naughty?"

Gside: <Yeah, you might hurt my feelings.>
Yep. Have to be politicailly correct and what not now. Man... we need Captain Darwin!
<Nooooo..... Is there any cure>
Yeah, but you might like it.
<I said complete, didn't I? Or do you want originals regularly added, too?>
Hell yeah! More! MORE!
<I've gotten the impression my fater was generally a good catholic over his life>
Why? What's the fun in that? Isn't the meaning of life to enjoy life? It's a bit hard to do that when you are a good catholic
<(except for maybe the chair incident).>
Ok. Now you have to tell it.
<And let me say that I am still waiting, even after achieving engineeringhood.>
I haven't waited and I can still achieve engineeringhood.

Todd: I will definitely miss your writing and contributions to all the TGS stories.
<Now the ultimate fight will take place, over the rarest of all relics.>
Wouldn't anything that there is only 1 of be one of the rarest relics?

Greg: <So, to make sure everyone knows this, I am declaring MARTIAN LAW!>
CLATU! VARITA! NIKTU!
Now... where's my scythe and robe?
<Now, who's ready to beat some ass?>
As we go forth into the night, may the screams of our victims fill those who would oppose us with fear, and let us wash the streets with the blood of the unworthy!

Leo: <WTF!! An.... earthquake???.... here in Virginia???>
Hey, we occasionally get earthquakes in Michigan too. Heck, 8 mile is right on a fault line!

Caboose: <So when one falls in love, one loses the ability to be a jackass when the situation calls for it?>
No, it's just that your jackassedness is tempered quite a bit and focused to the one you love!

Green Baron: <Larry Flynt, Ted Kennedy, Yasser Arafat, Jams Carville, Ken Livingstone, Ian Paisley, and Michael Moore>
And the ones that would classify themselves as better than human, like Brittney Spears
<I herey appoint you as my sadistic enforcer :)>
Thank you for allowing me to fulfill my lifes work!

Revel: <What does everyone think of the Pontiac Aztek>
I've seen uglier.

TGS Recruitment drive: To join or not to join, that is the question...

***TGS SPOILERS!***

Carbonek: Ok, first things first: I think that the idea to end TGS on this note is a very wise one. Nothing against TGS, but the whole "World Council" thread in the main TGS story has been fairly uninteresting to me and I don't want that to happen to Pendragon when creating New Camelot.

Ok, onto the story stuff:
Morgana: I am not totally sure she is dead, but she probably is. She definitely is a tragic character, and was a very good antagonist. Like Demona, she had chances to forgive, put her life down the right path, but she was blinded by vengeance.

As always, the story was very well written, and I agree that what Mary said to her father could be seen as a little cold, she was blinded by happiness and there just wasn't an easy way to tell Nigel that Morgana was dead when Mary was so happy that Merlin would live. I definitely think that Mary saying "She said she loved you" was very strong and decent on her part.

Poor Singleton. I almost feel sorry for him.
Almost. :)

I hope everyone enjoyed Season Four `Pendragon' half as much as I did. Thanks to everyone who commented so far on the finale (and I’m very much looking forward to reviews from those who haven’t yet). As Todd mentioned, I’m also planning to leave the series to explore other projects. I had a tremendous time but I feel the need for something different, creatively. But there remains the problem of low TGS staff membership, which saddens me. It occurs to me that while TGS has frequently recruitment drives, the case for people volunteering is very seldom made. Maybe it’s seen as too obvious, but TGS is no spring chicken. Hundreds of episodes are released, scores are in development, and many more are planned. It may be no surprise that some fans are blasé about the need to apply. So let me make the case now: why you should volunteer for TGS.

Firstly, most altruistically, the project is a great way to keep `Gargoyles' fans engaged, entertained and thinking about the series even though it's off air. Like `Ask Greg' and the Gathering conventions, it's an attempt to keep fandom together. The purists may think TGS has inevitably diverged too far from Greg Weisman's plans to backtrack now. That may be true – TGS is a thing in its own right. But the same ideas, themes and principles are still at its heart. If you don’t buy it, join up and fix it.

Secondly, it’s a wonderful creative experience. Whatever your writing interest – action, sci-fi, fantasy, romance, comedy, thriller, horror – it's all there. The scores of fanfic writers out there all know writing alone can be solitary and sometimes without much recognition. Bluntly, TGS means more of the good stuff and less of the bad. You work with great, creative people and quickly learn to develop your skills. You get feedback – good feedback, too – at every stage. And you get ambitious stories made. Anyone who loves writing fanfic should have a shot at writing TGS – and remember, the more everyone puts in, the more everyone gets out.

But thirdly, most importantly… it's just so much fun. I've seen the staff in moments of collective euphoric inspiration and caught in cataclysmic arguments. But it's always a huge honour to among genuinely enthusiastic, gracious, talented people, and seeing your work come to life. I really, seriously, implore you guys to give it a go. I can't imagine anyone regretting it.

I hope there are a few people out there who will decide to give it a shot.

Hey gang, putting together the next issue of Avalon Mists, I realized some of the files i had are missing. (which may be due to my computer crashing a few weeks ago)

I know someone sent me translated spells, which are seemingly also missing..as well as a picture entry for the gathering picture contest. (I'm starting to think some of these were 'eaten' when my computer crashed a few weeks ago) If you submitted these to me, please resubmit them, because I really want to put them in the issue. <:))

I think I have everyone elses articles..if I put the mag up (hopefully soon) and your article is not up there, let me know ASAP and I'll get it up there.

I just started finally making a system where I can keep track of all the articles, pictures, and sources used in each magazine. -_-;; So my apologies.

When the magazine goes up, and I left something off, PLEASE by all means tell me ASAP. I want to correctly credit people for contributions, as well as have everyone's stuff up and known. Thankyou for your help

At winter's stern command,

* SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT PENDRAGON *

"Carbonek" is not only the Season Four finale but also (short of a last-minute change in plans) the series finale for "Pendragon".

Ed Reynolds and I, who had done together almost all of the Breakdowns, Writing, and Edits for Season Four of "Pendragon", have both decided to leave TGS and move on to other things. Since it didn't seem likely that the spin-off would survive the departure of the people who had done that much work on it, and since "Carbonek" seemed like a good place to end the series, we decided to have it end there. The other cycles will continue and "Pendragon" characters may well guest star in their episodes, but "Carbonek" represents the end of this cycle.

We hope that you've enjoyed it.

The CR has been slow, so I have decided to once again declare martial law, and proclaim myself supreme Baron and Overlord of the CR :)

And in the spirit of the diversity of the CR, and the transition of leadership in Canada, toay's anthem will be O'Canada:

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love
in all the sons command.
With glowing hearts
we see thee rise,
The True North
strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada,
We stand on guard
for thee.
God keep our land
glorious and free!
O Canada,
we stand on guard for thee
O Canada,
we stand on guard for thee

Eh!

I also write this because I just got a box full of presents from a certain someone in Newfoundland :)

***CARBONEK SPOILERS***

So Morgana appears to dies in this story. I have to admit that when Morgana burst into the Great Hall on them like that I thought for a split second that you were going to make her Avallach's replacement, but fortunately reason prevails. Although it will be interesting seeing how Nigel grieves for his wife, especially since he is still suffering from denial. Hmmm... I wonder if Sybil, the former Queen of Northgalis, would help him guide his grief along a path of her choosing(like the Weird Sisters did for you know who).

The London Clan fought bravely, to bad most don't realise that the Illuminati only retreated because the Grail was no longer attainable. Oh well, maybe the clan will get another chance to fight them. Of course that depends on how long it will take for the Illuminati to come back and harass the clan, and considering if they would want to (and not just flee) when Griff finally tells his family why the Illuminati really retreated from the field of battle. Griff's clan could very well lose their confidence if told the truth.

Hopefully we will learn more about Isfet and her quest for the Gryphon Knights, her role was one of the smallest in the entire story. Correction one of the smallest Danu's role was even smaller. It might have been better if she had actually gotten into the castled, but it was still an interesting fight with Briana.

Lucius destroyed his flat with all the magic he had horded with in it! I wonder what he is going to do now politics? Could be. Without all that magic he will need to gain his power from more mundane sources, perhaps he will start something like the Quarrymen in Britian. Well we'll find out in season five.

Nice touch having Duval show his more ruthless nature with Singleton. It reminds us how he became the leader of the Illuminati, no matter who he used to be. As for the Illuminati, they must be getting used to failure at least when Gargoyles are involved. I wonder how long they will let Duval stop them from dealing with the Gargoyles once and for all.

We also hear about Arthur's decision to rebuild Camelot and take up the responsibilities of the Fisher King. Nice, but also predictable thanks to TimeDancer. Maybe we will get some enjoyment from the quest to build New Camelot.

And finally, I am not really sure that sending the Holy Gail away forever was a good idea, but it had it's moments.

Why exactly is that Flynt's fault? It was Livingston's own fault that he engaged in those little indiscretions.

Only six days until "The Return of the King" movie; I managed to complete reading "The Lord of the Rings" again in preparation for it yesterday. One thing that I noticed was that Tolkien did much the same thing with the final chapters as "Gargoyles" did with "Hunter's Moon" in terms of evoking the beginning - the returning hobbits visit the same places on their way home to the Shire (for the most part) with some echoes of their adventures at the beginning (such as at Bree where somebody asks Frodo for another song and everybody else immediately hushes him); Frodo and Sam even spot, just before they meet up with the Elves en route for the Grey Havens at the end, the same place where they first had a brush with the Black Riders. I thought it a nice touch.

Another cold day in Korea, and Christmas in two weeks. I actually have a tree. 3 ft and a Frank Sinatra ornament. Aren't I festive :)

Graymonk> I don't know a whole lot about Junior or the master of the Shawingian death grip...(that photo of it is a riot), though my favorite Canadian bloggers don't like him and have mentioned his patronage machine, though I have no doubt Paul Martin is clean. I notice a few resignations including Warren Tobin from the Cabinet, which mirrored Cretien's strategy before he became PM, and my Newfie friends ecoiled at the thought of Tobin as PM. Karen suggested that he should be drowned in coastal waters, and I thought I was worng to gloat over a former Louisiana Governor going to jail :)

Plus I plan to be joyous and celebratory when Ted Kennedy dies..all full of cheer :)

I look forward to that article.

Kathy> When I first heard Brother Bear, I automatically thought about the old Song of the South...somehow I don't see Disney ever releasing that one again :)

Fire Storm> Right. Not all subhumans should be picked on, just Larry Flynt, Ted Kennedy, Yasser Arafat, Jams Carville, Ken Livingstone, Ian Paisley, and Michael Moore ;)

Bud-Clare> I talk of divorcees :)

In other news, Gore endorsed Howard Dean, which left Joe Lieberman a little miffed. On one hand Lieberman is liek Al Gore....on valium, while Dean is like Al Gore....on speed :)

This is a good move for Gore. If Dean wins, Gore has a Cabinet position, and if Dean loses, Gore will use his new liberal populist image to get the Democratic nomination in 08, which coudl pit him against Hillary who is now acting the role of Centrist hawk (she voted for the Iraq resolution and won't back flip about it like John "by the way I served in Nam" Kerry) and backing Wesley Clark....of course Condoleeza Rice (who I have already endored for 2008) will beat both of them :)

Ed<Then the final scene, which I pitched to Todd as an additional scene during edits, was to show the logical conclusions of Lucius’ worldview: if you don’t value human life, you don’t have a problem blowing human life to kingdom come>

I think I understand what you are doing, but the thing he did at the end was just pure stupidity and just showed that he was either psychotic or that he doesn't think his actions out. How exactly is blowing up his own flat going to help him in his goal? In fact it's just going to help attract the undue attention of authorities and presently if you are a world world conquering academician you definitely don't need that attention.

Also I think there is a difference between pathological hatred like Demona and the superiority complex that Lucius has and in that scene at the end it seemed more like that he was more like Demona in pathological hatred killing people unnecessarily and not for any specific purpose or goal unless blowing up the flat had another purpose altogether.

< – as he did with that residential flat in the middle of Docklands. I hope everyone checks out the splendid new artwork for this episode.

***FINALE SPOILERS***

Todd: You know, I think don’t think this Mary situation is all that problematic. For one thing it seems that people generally understood what Mary meant. But I think on Mary’s part we get a glimpse into her own conflict. She really doesn’t want to face her father mourning for this woman she hates. Besides, Mary knows how Nigel responds to grief – remember “The Mists of Eynhallow”. I doubt she believes that sticking around would be helpful to Nigel. Now, she may be wrong about that. But it still seems like an interesting conflict for the character.

Archwolf: I agree that Nigel and Mary are unlikely to connect for a long, long time. I like your take on the misreported line. I was curious to see if Storyseeker would contend that this was simply a symptom of Mary’s guilt: that she literally doesn’t want to admit that Morgana loved her, so she amends the message out of denial. I definitely think there might be an element of both causes there. I do think it’s a situation that Mary (who by this time has been up for around thirty-six hours, unless she got some sleep off-stage in part 2) just wanted to get away from.

Question: Thanks for the review – you raise a number of good points.
(MORGANA) Good point. It is theoretically possible that she could survive by some future plot contrivance (as with the Archmage), but for the reasons you state it would be problematic, and in any case her arc feels kind of played out. There would need to be an extremely good idea for her return to make it justifiable. I can tell you that at the time of writing no such idea has come to light. The assumption is that Morgana is dead.
(ILLUMINATI) I believe more will be shown about the field units in future episodes.
(SYBIL/RORY) Glad you liked the fight scene – that was one of those scenes that Todd and I batted back and forth in edits, making it more outrageous each time. It seemed important that all the different fights this episode had very different styles and themes, from sword-fights, to wars of words, to this all-out magical brawl.
(LUCIUS) I guess we messed those scenes up because you don’t appear to get what we were hoping you’d get out of it. The idea in Lucius’ development here was to first clarify his view of the world (humanity is an inferior species and need to be ruled), and contrast them with Dulci (who I see as something of a philanthropist). Then the final scene, which I pitched to Todd as an additional scene during edits, was to show the logical conclusions of Lucius’ worldview: if you don’t value human life, you don’t have a problem blowing human life to kingdom come – as he did with that residential flat in the middle of Docklands. He wants to rule the world, sure, but *not for his own jollies* like the Archmage – he thinks human beings are actually *incapable* of self-government. That’s what I find most interesting about Lucius, and that’s what this episode was intending to clarify. Now, does that make him a “clichéd sorcerer”? Well, he’s probably my favourite character to write because he can be so darn funny, and I guess it was inevitable that people would be reticent to see past that after a while. But the intent was to show that this kind of mindset is no laughing matter at all, and to show a shift in the character. Sorry that it didn’t work for you.
(GRIFF) Griff isn’t a swordsman; Powell, conversely, is a master swordsman. Griff is still a great fighter, but this battle wasn’t one where he could use his physical prowess as much as his general combat training – and he made one crucial mistake. And now he’s indebted to his worst enemy as a consequence.
(AVALLACH) I think the idea was that Avallach had fulfilled his purpose in carrying the Grail, and now it’s down to Arthur to carry on its traditions.
(SINGLETON) The last Singleton scene was another of mine. I think Lancelot has to act as he does if he wants to preserve his position, but his actions are definitely ambiguous (and the scene bears contrast with Arthur’s development in more ways than one).
(THE GODSLAYER) I’m tempted to believe she knew Tanaburs had created Carbonek and so put it down as a lead for that reason. It wasn’t a plot I followed to a great extent, though, so I’m not sure if this explanation holds water.

Storyseeker: Nice assessment of how Morgana’s childhood affected her.

I'd say "no", because we have no legalities to worry about, and thus don't have to worry about proving anyone who tries to go "hey, you used my idea!" wrong.

Remember, a LOT of people come to the same conclusions about how some things should go. I have noted a few times that ideas came up in the comment room that were *already* written into stories. and before I foudn the fandom, their were a number of plotlines I came up with that I thought were totally original, only to disover that, not only had many of them been used by other writers, but that SOME of them were actually part of Greg W.'s master plan. : P

* CARBONEK COMMENTS *

QUESTION - We haven't really figured out the bit about Isfet yet; it was largely a plot device to get her involved in "The Godslayer".

STORYSEEKER - Again, I'm sorry about how the Mary scene turned out; we didn't intend for her to be coming off that cold. Actually, in the original draft, we didn't have any interaction between her and Nigel in Part Three; we just had a brief scene of Nigel wondering where Morgana was, why she hadn't called, etc. Then we decided that it needed a bit more closure, so we had Mary stop by. Apparently I didn't handle that part very well. All that I can say is that it never occurred to either myself or to Ed that Mary should have stayed with her father, and if it doesn't occur to the "Pendragon" staff, it doesn't occur to the characters. Maybe part of the reason why it never occurred to us was because we were so set on having Mary at the banquet at the end. I'm sorry if we goofed up and made her come across as unsympathetic.

[SPOILERS]

<Though I can't believe Powell of all people beat Griff. I mean Arthur took him down why can't Griff?>

Maybe Powell wasn't really giving his fight with Arthur all that he had, he was holding back for some reason? With the Illumaniti, especially Powell, you can never tell when someone is being truthful in whatever they're doing. Or maybe Griff just isn't the great fighter that we all thought he was, at least not with everyone. Powell certainly has been keeping a lot of secrets from everyone, so who knows what else he's hiding. For all we know, he might be the greatest warrior in the world in disguise and could have easily beat Arthur and Lancelot, but didn't as it would interfere with his plans, whatever they are?

<You make it sound like Mary was going to celebrate Morgana's death.>

I'm not saying that Mary was actually celebrating Morgana's death, but that's what it sounded like. If someone told you that your wife or mother, or whoever, was dead and then said sorry, but they're off to a party, would you feel comforted then? I'm just saying that Mary wasn't feeling too sympathetic with her father at that point. She should have stayed with him and comforted him. Merlin's alive now, she knows for sure he's safe, they could have partied some other time. So why didn't she stay with her father and offer him a shoulder to cry on, even if he would have refused it, she should have at least offered because then at least Nigel would have known she cared.

<Okay is Morgana really dead or is she just in hiding like Thailog?>

Who knows? I hope so, as I always love to read people's reactions when an arch enemy, whom they think is dead and gone, jumps out at them. (The episodes 'Avalon' and unbelievably 'Genesis Undone,' in TGC were among my favourite)

Another reason is that I can't help, but wonder. Did Morgana and Demona ever meet at all in either saga? I can't remember, but I always wondered what it would have been like? Two psycho immortals, both been hurt and suffered loss, both spent centuries alone and hell bent on destroying their foes. Their meeting would have certainly been an interesting one.

I like Morgana because, like Demona, she's the kind of evil villain that you can't help but feel sorry for.

Plus there's the question of what Sybil will do now, if Morgana really is gone?

Morgana's sisters didn't go all mad and revenge obsessed like she did, but recall that her sisters were more or less all grown up by the time it happened. So they had matured and knew better, whereas Morgana was still just a child at the time, so she carried around that hatred in her for years through her childhood and allowed it to eat away at her heart.

The fact is, no one knows how we'd all react in a similiar situation. If your mother was violated and your father murdered, all by the fault of one man. Can you honestly say for sure that you wouldn't feel vengeful too? I mean it's alright to say no, you wouldn't, but can you know for sure?

-Okay is Morgana really dead or is she just in hiding like Thailog? What I'm saying is that revealing to everyone that Avallach isn't dead because we didn't see his body and then killing Morgana and leaving us without a body really is not going to convince the readers that she is dead.

-Nice episode. Really liked the beginning where we see all the characters we've met in season 4. I take it that they are all going to play some part or another in season 5, right?

-So there does seem to be dissension among the Illuminati Armed Services. Are Stebbins and the others mercenaries or just dedicated Illuminati members chosen to be warriors?

-Okay if Anubis might have known about Avallach's "death" a then what about all the other death gods that made up the Fair Folk? Wouldn't they have known about it or was Tanaburs just wrong?

-Loved that fight scene between Sybil and Cuchullain. Very much like Thor in Marvel comics which was a source of inspiration for Cuchullain I recall.

-Though I really want to know if you guys get your jollies out of tormenting Lucius and making him look like an ass each episode? So far the guy has gone from one loss to another and now he has been reduced to a cliched sorceror on the level of the archmage bent on world domination. Please give him a break and really why did he have to blow up his own flat? Wouldn't it just draw more attention to him and a waste of resources?

-Loved that fight between Griff and Powell and their little speech. In some weird way it reminds me of the battle between Heero and Zech in Gundam Wing for some strange reason. Though I can't believe Powell of all people beat Griff. I mean Arthur took him down why can't Griff?

-Liked the solution for dealing with the vampyres though I found something lacking in their response.

-What exactly was the whole point of making Avallach the fisher king if he is removed from the scene at the end? Seemed like a big waste to me.

-Wow Singleton really dug himself into a hole. Rather foolish of him to overlook that Lancelot was a master warrior and then to let his defenses down immediately after getting beaten by Lancelot. If this is typical Illuminati leadership material then I daresay that the organization is doomed. And Lancelot is a real bastard for pumping truth serum into the water. Alittle bit excessive and cruel imo.

-Really nice touch at the end where Mary tells Nigel that Morgana said that he loved her even though Mary didn't like Morgana though I imagine her reluctance to save Morgana is going to bite her in the ass someday or was Nicholas Lite that karmic return for her reluctance.

-Finally for the last time why did Isfet think that the godslayer would take her to Carbonek? She doesn't even know before the events of Pendragon that Avallach was the Fisher King so any link the spear could have forged with Avallach if there was any wouldn't have been known by her.

****Spoiler****

Caboose> Yes, she did have her chance. My point is, she didn't _get_ it. She didn't _want_ to get it. Yes, i think she got what she deserved, but at the same time, I find it lamentable. Over the span of what was it, 1400 years i think, she had deluded herself into believing that vengance and justice were the same thing and let that consume her. At the ultimate point when everyone would have been willing to 'live and let live' with both Arthur and Merlin admitting their own bits of guilt in the grand scheme of things, she couldn't see that they were both asking for and offering complete forgiveness. Maybe it's becuase i've recently actually become *shudders* _human_, but I find that unwillingness to even _try_ quite lamentable. Now, given that she did chose her path, no one set her on it, yes, she did get what she deserved.

Story> I have to agree with the others. Mary didn't say she was celebrating Morgana's death. She said she was going to celebrate Merlin's recovery. If you are arguing that she shouldn't have made any comment about going out to celebrate her good fortune at a time when her father was bound to be grieving...well...tough noogies. You can't let someone else's bad fortune cause you to become so depressed that you cannot celebrate and be thankful for the good things. Also, Mary did have some good cause to be a little irked with Morgana. She _did_ hesitate to try to save her, but that was normal human weakness. very few people actually endanger their lives to save that of those who have been actively trying to kill them. To believe otherwise is delusional. Now, had Mary said "Go to hell" and walked away, then yes, your arguement would be valid. As it stands though, she reacted completely within the context of her own character.

Ed> Still and all, with the way we see Nigel act in front of Mary, it would be very easy for her to come to the conclusion that he cannot or will not come to terms with who she is and will not readily accept her back into his life. Everything he presented her with was conditional.

As for Mary saying "She said she loved you"...i think she did her father a favor. I thought it was a fairly high class move on her part. Mary let her father know that his wive's last thoughts were for him. Again, had she said something like "Yeah, the bitch tried to kill me, so i let her fall into a bottomless chasm", then yeah, she'd be seriously out of character. Saying what she did, it shows that she does still care for her father, but that her prioreties are on being thankful for the good things in her life.

* CARBONEK PART THREE SPOILERS/COMMENTS *

Mary was talking about their celebrating Merlin's being healed by the Holy Grail, not Morgana's death. We certainly didn't intend it to come across quite as coldly and unsympathetically as you interpreted it, Storyseeker, and I'm sorry if that's how it seemed. (Part of the problem, again, was having only myself and Ed to look over the story - the Edits Staff for TGS has been pretty much incapacitated lately, and one of our editors even had to resign yesterday - so we didn't realize how the scene would look to our audience.) I also somehow doubt that Nigel would have welcomed Mary's presence at that moment, since I suspect that he blames her somehow for Morgana's death (she was siding with Morgana's enemies, after all).

Vinnie: I look forward to seeing your comments.

Leo: I hope you survived the twenty-two second wait for the episode. Bad news about the earthquake though. Hope everyone there is okay.

Vash: Can’t wait for your reviews. :)

Sean: Don't think so. But I suspect if it’s anything major, it could be months before he’s able to announce anything, so I guess we’ll just have to be patient.

***SPOILERS FOR “CARBONEK” PART THREE***

It’s fascinating to see opinions divided on Morgana. The decision to kill her came while breaking the finale. Basically we’d hit the stage where we had to reform her or deal with her once and for all. TGS has played out so many reform arcs in the past, and it seemed that Morgana isn’t the type that could be very effectively reformed. She loves hard, she hates hard. (Not unlike Mary…). There was some debate about how conscious a decision it should be on Mary’s part to let her live or die, I seem to recall. Todd went the middle way and left it ambiguous, which actually turned out really well, I think.

Storyseeker: Please don’t forget to put spoiler tags on, even when it’s a continued discussion. Powell’s fighting abilities have been highlighted before. Check out “The Watching Eye”. I’m intrigued by your assessment of the final Mary scene (and I'm looking forward to seeing if other people have different takes on it). What did you make of her misreporting Morgana’s final words, incidentally?

Archwolf: Interesting comments. I disagree on your assessment of Nigel though: I think he genuinely loves his daughter, he just never worked out how to communicate it – particularly given the strange twists in their lives over recent months. I sometimes wonder if the reason he was so desperate to get his knighthood was to give Mary something to be proud of. We never got around to exploring this very much, though, so I think your interpretation probably works from the text.

My opinion of Mary has really gone low in this fic. She just totally disregarded her father's feelings. She never even considered that he would naturally be upset about Morgana's death. Although their marriage wasn't exactly an especially happy one, I believe he did love her and it was the first time in a long while since he had allowed himself to get close to anyone since his first wife's passing. And she just came and said "Sorry, morgana's dead. gotta go, we're going out to celebrate!" She could have stayed with him or at least offered.

There's a difference between moving on and being courteous. She told him that his wife was dead and then told him she was going out to celebrate!

<SPOILER>

My compliments to the PD staff. I normally had to be dragged kicking and screaming into reading Pendragon eps, but I have to admit that each ep this season has easily held my attention and left me wanting for more.

I liked that at the end, the majority of the front line knights were..not really dissalusioned (yeah, my spelling has always been bad), but they knew that it was not all happy fun and games now that the Grail Quest was done. Most of the clan and knights treated it as if the world were already theirs. I like it.

Caboose>'Poor Morgana'? 'Poor Morgana'? She's an immortal bitch! I, for one, was getting sick of her and her blasted vengeance quest. She struck me as an actual person and not hate incarnate perhaps twice in the course of "Pendragon" and only towards the end in her relationship with Nigel.

I'm glad she's gone and hope she doesn't find a way out of the whole she fell into. Good riddance to bad rubbish. >

And, like Morgana, you missed the point. Forgiveness, Atonement. They are for the individual to accept or reject, not for the massess to judge.

Story>I can't believe Mary could be that cold and cruel?! I mean, I understand her hesistation at helping Morgana, as anyone would feel the same, but... What she did to her father???? She just blurted it out to him that she was dead and then left him on his own. It's like she just completely forgot that he was married to her, I couldn't believe what a bitch she was then. >

I don't see it as her being a bitch. There's an old saying "Don't ask question you don't want to know the answer to."

Besides, her father had made it plenty clear that he no longer really considered Mary his daughter, or even a person. She accepted that and moved on.

Oh and another thing is how Arthur took his sister's death so casually? He certainly learned how to move on quickly.

Poor Morgana, is she really gone? I hope not, as she was my favourite character. Please let me know, will she be back???!!! I realise that you've only just finished this season, but I gotta know.

I can't believe Mary could be that cold and cruel?! I mean, I understand her hesistation at helping Morgana, as anyone would feel the same, but... What she did to her father???? She just blurted it out to him that she was dead and then left him on his own. It's like she just completely forgot that he was married to her, I couldn't believe what a bitch she was then.

I pity Griff too, who would have thought that Powell was such a good warrior. What a blow to Griff, to be defeated so easily and worse yet, he has to carry the secret that the clan never really won. The Illumaniti could have defeated them I bet.

CHRISTI - They most likely named the site after the original Thersites in Homer's "Iliad" and Shakespeare's "Troilus and Cressida" anyway, rather than the Thersites of "Dark Ages", so I agree that the TGS character wouldn't be all that appropriate. (What the original Thersites has to do with engineering, I can't guess either.)

* SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT *

The battle lines have been drawn.

The storm is here.

Now the ultimate fight will take place, over the rarest of all relics.

The destinies of Arthur and Merlin - and many more - will be decided....

"It is your time now."

Don't miss the final part of "Carbonek", coming soon to a computer near you.

Attn: TGS staff --
I was just contacted by a guy in putting together a government website called Thersites and get this -- he wants permission to use an image that I did of Thersites (Dark Ages: forget the story but it's the one where Hudson & the blacksmith get drunk in the pub and Thersites is looking in the door wondering who's strangling the cat.)
I've seen the website layout and I'm going to advise him NOT to use the image, simply because it sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't have anything to do with the subject matter. (It's an engineering site having something to do with biomass and tar dewpoints so why he wants a cartoon gargoyle, I have no idea!)

Fire Storm> <<Don't say bad things about the subhumans!>>: Yeah, you might hurt my feelings.

<<I don't want to know if my father did that>>: I've gotten the impression my fater was generally a good catholic over his life (except for maybe the chair incident).
