Xmen Evo> Sad to see it go, but I prefer series to end on a high note than just sputter out. I'll take a pass on wanting to see the Phoenix Saga. Marvel's series start to go down the moment they start resurrecting characters from the dead. And they were just starting to do that in "Ascension" so I'm cool with the end.

Pokemon and Yugioh are the WB's trump card against Fox and ABC. Any new show looks like it can be trouble, they pack those shows to keep it from getting ratings. I think both are on their way out. Disposable income is tight which translates to lower card sales. If lower sales translates into lower interest, then it will be so long Pokemon, cya Yugioh.

Fire Storm> <<11!!!one!!>>: That creates so much cognitive dissonance.
<<Miss a throw? Get another try>>: Only if you promise me you have enough stock to wipe the face of the Earth well over once.
<<but shall that trend continue?>>: A good question, but any reactionary crackdown will create rereactionary movement.
<<but imagine being feeling yourself being put together>>: I'm sure people would get used to it, assuming they make sure not to trigger any nerves in the process. Or do the brain last.
<<First stop: The Catholic dorm>>: Schoolgirls. Excellent. Next shall be NOW to help with the sexual liberation of all women.
<<I thought that was at least implied>>: There are many ways of approaching it. Crying, screaming, laughing, orgasming.
<<And no problems with unexpected pregnancies, with garg only getting pregnant once every 20 years>>: Let's hear it for 19 year orgies.
<<For a moment I thought you posted a link to one of it's mirrors in the CR!>>: You should know me better than that. No direct links, but plenty of information.
<<Only way it works. Otherwise I get a parser error>>: Are you sure the problem's there and not just appearing there for some obscure reason? The official php documentation says a colon is should be used when you want to close with and endwhile; http://www.php.net/manual/en/control-structures.alternative-syntax.php
<<Wish I did>>: So write up some test code to echo test nulls.
<<Is that why the room is so dead?>>: Nah, everyone's watching the commercials.

Happy belated birthdays to everybody I've missed.

Question - <Took them long enough with Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon> I'll slightly disagree about those two shows being of equal quality. Pokemon . . isn't it time for that show to die? I mean, at some point or another, surely they'll run out of new pokemon to create.

Ok, let's start a running tally of how many people (not just in here but wherever) that are soooo pissed about Kidrock cutting a hole in the flag and wearing it as a poncho. I do hope these are the same people that get pissed over flag burning.

>>>God forbid people show some respect for the flag. Personally, I think cutting holes in the flag or burning it shows an extreme lack of respect for the veterans of the armed forces who have fought and died while following the Stars and Stripes.

Hmmm -- it doesnt surprise me that x-men got the axe.... Cartoons get better and worse with time... We are entering a junky phase... Ebb and flow and such...

It is odd though that sometimes they care about writing and having cartoons that can be enjoyed by people who are 8 and 38 and sometimes they create ones that would make anyone over 15 scream in terror or die of boredom if forced to watch... It does seem to by cyclical though...

Oh yeah, and Janet looked like some kind of ostrich in that weird skirt thing.

Question: Yeah, but the cartoon and the movie are different. It would have been cool to see how the Evolution take would be, and also see how the movie deals with it. Same with how the Xmen of the early nineties cartoon dealt with Apolcalypse versus Evolution. I know its not hardcore canon or anything, but a cool retelling of the tale. I assume just like Todd's LoR, which, thank you Todd, I will give a read. :)
I was glad how they did end it with Ascension, leaving the door open for a fifth season, but yet closing it if necessary, good call on their part.

I liked "X-Men: Evolution", although I don't feel that upset about it being over; the final episode (Ascension Part Two) struck me as being such a perfect way of ending the series with the glimpse into the X-Men's future that I'm content to have it end there.

You might be interested to know that I wrote an oddball little X-Men: Evolution fanfic, in which the characters did a spoof on the Lord of the Rings (Apocalypse as Sauron, Xavier as Gandalf, Magneto as Saruman, Nightcrawler as Frodo, and Toad as Gollum). Z> I think it was a combination of a bare bones outline with incorporating stuff that was learned as they went along the road. There was some arcs that he had planned like the Pack becoming less and less human, but some of the major stuff he never knew until they were writing or producing the episode. I think he mentioned in the askgreg page that he never knew that Puck was Owen until the Mirror Episode. Plus he mentions in the ramble for EM that he didn't know the reasons for Macbeth's feud with Demona until later or that the Archmage was going to be a big villain until David Warner came along and transformed him from a cliche sorcerer to a character with depth. Same for Fox/Xanatos, their son or the fact that Fox was a halfling. He didn't know that until Fox's mother came along. You can find the specifics for some of your questions in the askgreg archive page. But I'm pretty sure Angela and Broadway weren't an item until they started the planning when they realized that Angela and Brooklyn wasn't exactly a good idea character wise for both of them. I'm sure he knew that Goliath and Elisa were going to hook up since one of the central ideas was the whole beauty and the beast thing and same for Demona's 1000 years of life.

Greg Weisman has said in the past that he thought of the Timedancer spinoff too late in the game to consider producing it, which brought this to my mind:
I'm trying to get a feel for how much of the Gargoyles storyline was already thought out at the beginning of production vs. how much was invented as the series progressed.
When Greg was producing the first episodes, did he have a lot of the specific details of the storyline, villains, or episodes already planned out (i.e. the World Tour, the existence of the Third Race, Angela choosing Broadway, Elisa and Goliath becoming romantically close, Demona's 1000 year history, etc.)?
Or was it more like there were some vague ideas for villains, and some general episode premises, but the door was left open for creativity down the road?
Or was there just a general idea of a group of protagonist gargoyles who wake up 1000 years later in Manhattan, fight bad guys, and alter to their new world?
I'm just trying to get a feel for how much was thought out from the beginning and how much was created as the story developed. If anybody can shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
Peace

Went to a new (to us), good pizza place for dinner, and also found out that the League of Nations was written up just down the road from me, in an estate of a friend of Woodrow Wilson's that used to be on top of Tower Hill.

Fire Storm> <<Why doesn't this NOT detect nulls?>>: I don't think you want that double negative there, but talking about the code: I'm not sure why you have a colon at the end of your while statement. Are you sure you don't need single quotes around $GET_[season]? I'd prefer to have some do nothing code in the for instead of empty brackets, or even better have an if(!isnull(...)). Or maybe is_string() or isset(). Also, you may be having trouble because the null in the array entry may not be a php null. A quote from the php documentation: Also note that a NULL byte ("\0") is not equivalent to the PHP NULL constant. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's wrong, as you seem to imply that it runs through fine on non null ideabys. Do you remember what the output for echoing a null value should be? If it's N, it's most likely slipping through the is_null().

Hey people. I know I havent posted in a bit, but hey, I made the effort right now. I'm very angry right now (I wont go into details, but lemme just say it involves "white board wars"), so i gotta keep my mind off things, and talking (even with letters on a keyboard) is the only way to calm myself right now. if you REALLY want to hear the whole story, I'll spill, but I warn you, anger and profanity are frequent.

Anyway, I've been browsing the CR for a few days, and all this Mary Sue stuf is making my head spin! Maybe I can try my hand at it, since I'm taking creative writing this semester (I took it my senior year in high school, and it wsa a blast. Of course, we didnt even do much, btu I put a hell of a lot of effort into my final paper, which contained 4 parts, totalling 23 pages, single spaced).

The other night, I had this REALLy whacked dream. First off, let me explain Im a big phantom of the opera fan, and got my hands on the sountrack (we have burned copies at home, but now I have my own set, complete with lyrics), and I've been listening to it almost non-stop. Well, Sunday night, I had a dream where it was performed by the cast of Gargoyles...it was fun, but really messed up. Some of the roles were just...WRONG!

Revel: Yeah, I figured that.

Leo: Believe it or not, I never read the GFW fics (and it's the only false identity I've assumed... I always thought the idea was a bit weird really, except here as a one-off prank). HelenaXor was a pretty general spoof. I'm not sure whether to be amused or bemused that there is a fic like this. Let's hope it's not for real either...

Vash: "The true story behind the legend" indeed. Wasn't sure what I'd make of that film, but it actually looks quite fun... and thankfully nothing like "Pirates of the Caribbean" as your post suggested. Except for the lovely Kiera Knightley of course. Mind you, that was a really dreadfully produced trailer. The narrator sounded plain silly.

DPH: Actually, the link was supposed to say something daft, but it doesn't quite work. HelenaXor making vague threats if anyone set up www.HelenaXor.com without informing her, or something IIRC.

VASH - I haven't seen the trailer myself, so I can't pass judgment on it. However, I have heard a bit about the movie, which definitely seems to be based on looking at the "historical Arthur" and bypassing the medieval knights element (something which is increasingly becoming the fashion in handling Arthur on the printed page, so I suspect that it was inevitable that it would become the same way on the screen soon).

Since this is somewhat "Pendragon" related, I wondered what the PD staff thinks of the trailer for the new King Arthur movie (linked to my name). I cringe at the portrayal of Gwenivere as some kind of a tribal warrior woman (unless I'm interpreting the trailer wrong), but otherwise it looks interesting (Arthur even looks Roman). If it turns out to be anything like PotC (which I really enjoyed), I wonder which character will end up being the comedy relief. ;P

Buffy is the Big Boss and has made Rome her home base... ooooohhhhhoooo... Biggest update on the Slayer side of the universe we've had in a long run, with the whereabouts of Xander, Willow, and friends. Also, beautifully scripted angsty dark story line which misleads the viewer into thinking very bad things about Spike, and then some mental ephiphanies that lead to Spike's character developement/growth. Luv, luv, luv Spike... Love how gorgeously written his developement is going. Not quite on the level of B5's Londo or G'kar, but excellent all on it's own. The end lines of this ep are keepers.

Garg b-days and human b days>I make the 1/2 age thing simple like this.
10 human years=to 20 garg years so a 20 year old gargoyle would be equal in age to a 10 year old human.
Cat years: at 10 years old a cat is considered a senior citizen. So in human years a cat would be 60-65.
middle age would be like 5 years and adult would be like 2
years a teenager in cat years would be 6 months to 1 year.
Mary Sues: a character created to be the mate of a main character is okay and not a mary sue if 1. There is nobody esle in the main line character line 2. The relationship blossoms slowly and not over night (e.g. the
characters don't fall in love at first sight).

Curses, foiled again! ;) Well, yes, HelenaXor was the Mary Sue character that emerged out of a reply I was going to post earlier today (but ended up being so much fun to type that she ended up as a mini-fic). I thought it might be amusing to present it "in character"... although I figured it might take more than 14 minutes to trace back to me. ;) How on earth Doug managed to dupe the room for years is beyond me. Oh well, I think HelenaXor might hang up her writing pen, after a mercifully short but colourful career. :) (When did you suspect? Or did you just run an IP search?)

*A poof of smoke appears in the cr and when it clears . . DPH is still nowhere to be found in the cr. Several ports open in the cr and seconds later the portals close after . . nobody goes through them. A clicking noise is heard and a cloaked figure shows up in the cr. The cloaked figure steadily decloaks to reveal . . a couple of large helium filled balloons saying "Happy Birthday to Gside and Revel". Seconds later, in plain sight, DPH walks through the regular entrance to the cr.*

What? It's about time I decided to take the 'normal' route to the cr.

Yes, only 7 more days left and I'll definitely fill better about passing this time of the year (see my CR profile for why I am concerned about this time of the year). As normal for me, a certain day passed without me remembering the importance of that day. After just a few more days of this month, I can stop worrying about something happenning to me.

Leo - <Why do I think that's scarry?> That's not scary. What's scary is the distribution of birthdays in my immediate and apparant distribution of birthdays in my church. A whole bunch of people have birthdays in a 3 week period of time.

Tonight, I did a good deed. I helped a stranger who ran out of gasoline across the street from my house. I'd rather not count the number of times I've been in a similiar predictament.

Silvadel - <It is also halfway to 70 -- which isnt exactly midlife but it is getting there... It is the last divisible by 5 birthday before the big four oh... > Big deal. Jaden: <I'll start filling the sandbags and digging foxholes, you get the weapons>

Bud-Clare: <Well, you saw wrong. (Very, very wrong, in fact. Are you sure you read it right?)>
I'll admit that the post was based on Mooncat's quick little Mary Sue list.
<There's a difference between two characters developing a realistic relationship (like Goliath and Elisa), and that One True Love crap...>
Very true...
I still think that test is a little biased. And it should have a few more spots in it (expert at 1 or more things, add undead to clone/genetically modified/etc)
At the very least, I say that a character needs to have a score of 40% before it warrants a re-write.

Spacebabie: <Who?>
I severely doubt that I can safely talk about this topic without coming under the Wrath of the Administrators... It's that adult.
But let me say that if you saw the image(s), you wouldn't forget it.
<I believe there is a difference between Mary Sue and a well written original character>
I know. My argument sucked. Should have said that even though a character COULD be flagged as a Mary Sue, it doesn't mean that the character wasn't well written.
I hate to use this as an example, but it is a case of a well written quite Mary Sue character...
Spike's Avery. Quite honestly, Avery was a Mary Sue. BUT since she and the stories were well written, it can slide. Now, had the writing style not been as good, the Mary Sue'edness would be much more apparent.
<my def of a MS>
Is definitely on the extreme end, but definitely fits. Keep in mind that a writer can have a series going for quite some time to set up a story so a REAL Mary Sue can be inserted (I've seen that a few times)
<What about Katana/Sata?>
Well, using my flawed argument, Katana isn't because she is technically canon, but Sata would be flagged.

Mooncat: <There is an unfortunate tendancy for Mary Sues to be created as the love interest of one or more cannon characters though>
I think largely because it is the most logical way to add another garg to the clan. But who am I kidding? Many Mary Sue writers don't care about logic, now do they?

Todd: <Mary (Sue) Sefton>
Never realized that before... Hmm.. Oh well.
Mary... well, even though it could have been seen that Mary and Merlin were going to eventually hook up, among other things, I don't think I would count her as a Mary Sue, largely because she is flawed because she is human. No one is perfect. Any factor that could be seen as a Mary Sue quality (Merlin's love, Arthur's squire, Arthur being a father figure to her) was brought out in a logical fashion over quite some time. Had she been a Mary Sue, she would have totally accepted being a wolf, caught Merlin's eye, and become good friends with Arthur by the end of her second story.

Gargoyle Age: Or think of it in this way:
Gargoyles age at the same rate as humans... when awake. BUT since they are in stone roughly half of the time, their apparent aging process is double that of a human.
SO:
A gargoyle that is biologically 20 has been around for 40 years. (Awake 20, stone 20)
Hmm... pretty sweet when you think about it. When they are 20, they have actually been awake for 20 years, where as a human would only be awake for about 12 of those years

So what do they call male Mary Sues? (I'd like to call them "Jonathons", in reference to a certain episode of "Buffy".)

SPACEBABIE - Thanks for including Mary Sefton among the good OCs in "Pendragon". I certainly like to think that I worked hard enough on her and her weaknesses as well as her strengths that people won't suspect her middle name of being "Sue" (even if she does have a romantic relationship with Merlin and a father-daughter relationship with King Arthur).

Happy Birthday Wishes to G-side and Silvadel *^_^* (uses the Phoenix Gate to send them back a day)

OCs and Mary Sues - Like Spacebabie and others have said, there are Original Characters that are not Mary Sues, and being the love interest of a Cannon Character doesn't always mean the Original Character is a Mary Sue.

There is an unfortunate tendancy for Mary Sues to be created as the love interest of one or more cannon characters though, so an OC being a CC love interest can be a warning sign of possible Mary Sue-ism.

Not all Mary Sues are badly written Mary Sues though, and the well written ones can be very entertaining. I've even seen a few Mary Sues that I really liked and would follow/read about even if they weren't interacting with an established fandom universe because the writer had the skill and talent to make them interesting in a stand alone way.

Added another family to the Sims

Me toe is sore

I’m also remembering quotes from old cartoons:…like the following from the 90’s X-Men series.

Angel: How do you fly without wings?

Rogue: I don’t know, I just do.

Angel: Lucky

Rogue: (down key) yeah, lucky.

Whoo hoo the people who vote in the Golden Globes have taste! RotK won 4 awards including an award for best Drama Movie, and best director to Peter Jackson. Hopefully The Academy is paying attention. If it doesn’t win then hopefully it ill go to Big Fish. The same for Peter Jackson, if not him then Tim Burton.

Use a magic spell or a strange drug…or somebody gets really drunk. Those are the simple ways. A good long discussion. Or one character helping out another character during a crisis and then they end up in bed. Just having two characters in the same room for a minute and then all of sudden start tearing off each other’s cloths does not work for me.

Firestorm<<<But really, can a story (especially a Gargoyles story) be written that DOESN'T contain a Mary Sue character (Mooncat's quick little list for example)? No. If Mary Sues were totally avoided, the trio have just Angela, Delilah, and Demona to mate with.>>>I believe there is a difference between Mary Sue and a well written original character. For example in TGS The hatchlings of Una and Leo and Mary are well written OC’s not Mary Sues. In Christine’s fic verse Aiden, Jericho and Elektra are well written OC’s Birdie may come off a bit Msish but I wouldn’t say she is one. She is not in all of the stories. When she made her debut the fic was not about, her. It wasn’t written from her POV. Sure she end’s up in bed with one of the Men on Christine’s hunky guy list, but she got into bed with him way down the pipes…my def of a MS is one who debuts in the first story, is in every chapter of the story and is in all the stories. It’s written from her POV. She becomes insta friends with the canon and gets close with the guy she was lusting within the first few chapters + they have all the annoying MS qualities.<<<Well, as I see it, according to the Mary Sue chart, any character that falls in love with one the main canon characters is automatically flagged to be a Mary Sue.>>>What about Katana/Sata?

Lynati:<<*think* about it.>>

*Thinks*

I look at "gargoyle years" the same way as "dog years" or "cat years" etc... - the "biological" age equivalent of a human in "normal" or "human" years.

ex:

1 "gargoyle year" = 2 "human years"
1 "dog year" = 1/7 "human year"
1 "cat year" = 1/? "human year"

or

1 "human year" = 1/2 "gargoyle year"
1 "human year" = 7 "dog years"
1 "human year" = ? "cat years"

So I say the trio is 38 in "human years" but only 19 in "gargoyle years"

(the other way around) :)

Contest Deadline March 1st. Phoenix Gate Anthology

Where does the time go? Don't be left behind. Submit your Story or Illustration soon!

We're doing something a little different this year. This contest is aimed at both artists and writers. The winning entries to this contest will be printed into a book, letter-sized and German-bound, like a paperback novel! This Anthology can be pre-ordered in the Registration form.

Writers: You must write a short story, around 2,000 to 4,000 words, that involves in some way, shape or form the Phoenix gate. It can be anywhere from only about the magical artifact to mentioning the object being somewhere in the background. It can have cannon characters or entirely fan fictional ones, it can talk about actual history or delve into fantasy or science fiction, even! As long as the Phoenix Gate is mentioned, the story's good for us! There will be 10 entries chosen for the final book. Any entry of more than 5,000 words will be not be accepted. Send your entries as text or html files or URLs to contests@gatheringofthegargoyles.com. Deadline March 1!

Artists: There are two contests for this. The first one is for Black and White entries, images touching by near or far the Phoenix Gate. It must be only black and white, no colour entries will be accepted for this contest. The 10 best entries will be put into the book in a special art section. The second one is for a colour image, in portrait orientation, for the cover of the book; you must leave space at the top to put in the title, or add in the title yourself. Only one entry will be chosen for this contest! All art entries submitted must be browser friendly URLs, sent to contests@gatheringofthegargoyles.com. Deadline March 1!

All winners will receive a free copy of the book!

Well another birthday goes by.... This is one of the ponder birthdays as it is divisible by 5... I turned 35 today the 26th of january -- well not exactly as it is now 2:16am on the 27th but the day doesnt really change till you go to bed anyway(which I am planning on doing after I post this)... 35... sigh.. 25 would be sooo much better -- the odd thing about 35 is you start to see which parts of your body are going to be problems for you later in life as they start to in some ways fall apart...

It is also halfway to 70 -- which isnt exactly midlife but it is getting there... It is the last divisible by 5 birthday before the big four oh...

A soso haul this year, some shirts, a discworld book, and some luggage (no, not The Luggage).

Krista> <<Then again, maybe I shouldn't be talking. It's only 40 degrees ferinhite>>: No, you shouldn't be talking. At least about how cold things are there.

Kjay> <<less than an hour drive from Quebec>>: You think it's cold here, and you want to go to Canada?

Revel> <<Happy birthday Gside>>: Thank you.
<<would not know what to get you so enjoy all that you have>>: I try to. And don't worry about it: I won't get presents even for my family until I have a steady income.

Lain> <<a bandana, duh>>: But not any standard bandana, of course. There should be something vaguely odd about it.
<<happy birthday to you>>: Thank you.

Fire Storm> <<You get to destroy the third world nation of your choice for your birthday>>: Thank you. Let's see, I don't have a grudge against any countries, so I'll just throw a dart at adjacent maps of Africa and South America.
<<this is an image that must be preserved though out the ages>>: When future students open the pages of their history texts to the internet, goatse shall be there.
<<No one in particular, but really, does it really matter?>>: If we choose well, we might get a little bonus out of it.
<<Well, unless they saved the matter somewhere, it had to use frigging terrawatts of power>>: Pretty much. And I'd think it's take amazing amounts of energy to even rearrange so many atoms of matter so precicely.
<<I'll put a mask on your face and put you on furry sites>>: I thought you said you already did that.
<<Where is my Utility Strapon Belt?>>: Look under the rotating circular bed.
<<And you know what they say about curious cats>>: You're supposed to wait for their own curiosity to kill them, so you can laugh. And then molest the corpse.
<<Maybe I just started the next flame war>>: We'll just have to wait, see, and hope.

Na zdorov'ya.

Gside: Happy Birthday! You get to destroy the third world nation of your choice for your birthday!
<But do not fear, the picture will never disappear completely>
I can only hope, for this is an image that must be preserved though out the ages.
<Excellent idea. Do you have anyone in mind?>
No one in particular, but really, does it really matter?
<They never said anything about how much energy the tech used>
Well, unless they saved the matter somewhere, it had to use frigging terrawatts of power
<That's a good start, but you're not diversifying enough. My ultimate sexiness knows no boundaries>
You're right! I'll put a mask on your face and put you on furry sites!
<As long as your enjoyment makes up for the lost profits>
Oh yes. Ruining someone's life makes up for ti.
<Well, maybe not them, but the non projectiles>
Let's see... got the ropes, whips, cuffs... Hmm... Where is my Utility Strapon Belt?
<I'm sure you think that now, Jeremy dear, but you said the same thing after the incident with the family cat. I'm not sure I can trust you any more.>
But... but mom! The cat was watching me! It was too curious. It knew too much! And you know what they say about curious cats!

Bud-Clare: <That doesn't count, unless it takes a really long time to get to the staking bit. Who doesn't want to watch a Sue die in a funny way?>
Very true... Hmm... gotta rethink that.
<*facepalm* For crying out loud...>
Well, as I see it, according to the Mary Sue chart, any character that falls in love with one the main canon characters is automatically flagged to be a Mary Sue. And really, I see Delilah and Angela being possible mates for the Trio, but not Demona.
And if the problem is mating... well, isn't that the ultimate result of dating or whatever?
<She.>
He/She... I can barely remember names, let alone sex/sexual orientation/species

Mooncat: <True, the fleshing out of the mostly nameless, in some cases faceless fem gargs would tend to make them a bit OC>
Exactly. Out of all of the named female characters in the original series, unless you break up existing or assumed couples, you create an Original Character, which runs the risk of being a Mary Sue.

Say... Maybe I just started the next flame war! (OR, even better, the next topic of discussion!)

KRISTA - Well, to briefly summarize:

Dracon steals a shipment of particle beam accelerators from Xanatos's company. Elisa finds out about it and determines to get Dracon brought to justice and the guns rounded up, although Dracon knows how to cover up his tracks so that the police can't prove that he was the one who did it. Meanwhile, Broadway goes to see a western movie that he's especially fond of. On the way back home, he stops by Elisa's apartment, and while there, can't resist picking up Elisa's gun and attempting to re-enact the big gunfight in the movie's climax. He accidentally fires off the gun in doing so and shoots Elisa, seriously injuring her. He's horrified, but fortunately has the presence of mind to get her to a hospital and leave her where the staff will find her and get her treated.

Owen finds out about Elisa being in the hospital (though not about Broadway being the one responsible for it - he's so upset that he hasn't even gone back to the castle yet) and informs Goliath (in a particularly creepy bit of timing, he tells Goliath just as the latter is about to turn to stone, so that Goliath freezes in place almost immediately after he's received the news - talk about torment!) Elisa's family (except for Beth, who was away attending college in Arizona) and Captain Chavez visit her in the hospital; Goliath (the following night) overhears their conversation and believes that Dracon shot her to stop her from investigating his robbery. He promptly vows to avenge Elisa upon Dracon and hunts him down; Broadway catches up with Goliath and stops him from killing Dracon by confessing that he was the one responsible for Elisa being shot. Goliath sees to it that the police will arrest Dracon for the theft, after which he and Broadway visit Elisa (now recovering) at the hospital and Broadway apologizes to Elisa for shooting her. It ends with Goliath and Broadway perching outside Elisa's room in stone form at dawn, to "watch over her".

Deadly Force - Broadway sees a cowboy movie and is all jazzed up when he visits Elisa that while she's distracted, and in the kitchen, he notices her gun set aside in it's holster and pulls it out to play with. Like a kid, he starts twirling it and stuff, and accidently shoots it off. Startled, he apologizes to Elisa... only she's no longer in view. He goes into the kitchen and Elisa is laying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Side story, Dracon and goons steal a bunch of prototype particle weapons from one of Xanatos's business's. They are selling some off on the street to make some quick money while saving the rest for a big sale later on. Elisa was investigating the crime, and here we learns he and Tony are old adversaries.

Broadway rushes the unconcious and dying Elisa to the hospital, but is too scared and ashamed to let anyone know he's the one who shot her. The doctors get ahold of her family, and we get to see her parents and brother for the first time (I think).

Goliath is informed of Elisa's condition by Owen, and goes to see her, he over hears Maria Chavez telling Elisa's family they think Tony Dracon put the hit on Elisa. Outraged, Goliath goes to hunt down Tony and deal with him.

Broadway also ends up going after Tony. He blames the tragedy that occured on the weapons, and when he stops a crime in the Park is enraged to find the crook has a new kind of gun. The crook tells Broadway where there are more... which leads him to the same place Goliath ends up, Tony Dracon's hideout. Goliath is about to kill Tony when Broadway confesses he is the one who shot Elisa, by accident. Goliath leaves Tony and the destroyed weapons for the police to find.

Elisa makes it through a harrowing surgery, and forgives Broadway. She feels it's her fault for not securing her weapon first.

Alls well that ends well. In the next few episodes Elisa is shown still recovering from her ordeal.

krista>> <<I live in Denton. the county next to Dallas' county. exactly where do you live?>> cool. i live exactly in garland, about 1 hour away from denton. revel (see below) actually lives *in* denton and i hang out with him quite a bit.

kjay>> <<Why don't they reset the room at midnight like in the olden days?>> the room has to be wiped and archived manually, so it gets done whenever the wiper remembers. if the main wiper forgets and the room is still the previous weeks by the time i get home from taking gunjack to work on monday morning (at 3amish) i wipe it then. thats probably (at least partly) the reason for the lack of a definate wipe time.
