Martin> <<here goes another hair style crippled>>: It was orders from above, and I plan on just letting it grow out again.
<<I think on the day anyone would attempt to cut my hair>>: I did it myself (under duress, anyway).
<<But can anyone tell me what brings those people to the point where they cross the line between being angry and wrecking half a city>>: Probably some undiscovered mental illness. As for why it seems to happen here a lot, mostly a combination of a large population and lots of media so the small chance is multiplied across the country, and when it does happen people find out about it.

DPH> <<What's the cheapest I can buy a hard drive for?>>: Do you care if it's only 20 megs?

Fire Storm> <<The pre-processional is when the bridesmaids come in>>: Can you also use it for the flower girl and the ring bearer?
<<No one played my prelude CD either>>: That should have been mindlessly easy enough to do.
<<Kill my parents, have sex with them... same difference>>: Do both at the same time for extra points.
<<It makes it so you DON'T have to walk!>>: Then it'd better release some good drugs to directly stimulate my pleasure centers to make up for depriving me of porn.
<<Being close to family?>>: He already brought a third of it with him, and his sister had already moved out to California a long time ago.
<<I just never really liked the smell of mayo>>: I've been raised on miracle whip myself, but you shouldn't really need so much that the food doesn't smell stronger.
<<Level population growth = zero net population growth, right?>>: Right, so population size doesn't make any difference on survivability of the species (besides taking a longer time for accidents and illnesses to wipe them out).
<<Oh, I know you actually live in the ocean itself>>: All the octopi I could want to molest.
<<We had been averaging 2-4 hours per night for a week>>: And everyone expects that to happen after the wedding.
<<I think they just start with the head and eat it all>>: I guess some of the males get away after only the head.
<<The best part is there is no staff members that want to tell you what to do>>: We should write a bood: "How to Make Uncertainty Work for You."
<<Well, obviously it wasn't enough>>: Sorry, but we only have a hose guide left to do.
<<the little gnomes under the bed demand it>>: And if they're Pratchett gnomes, they can get mean.

Martin> <<The virtually throwing of rice, the celebration in here and everything else>>: We all missed that bit, since we weren't paying much attention to figuring out dates when he said them and only noticed after.
<<I'm 1.92 meter tall (sorry, I don't know the high in feet)>>: The way I do it in my head is 1m~=3ft, add a bit to feet, take off a bit on meters. The real computation makes you 6'4" (beating me by about 2 inches).

Na zdorov'ya.

sooo, I've got a new aspect to my site...it's still in progress, but I think there is enough up now to allow browsing.

It's a set of reference pages for Gargoyles characters, meant for artists use but anyone can enjoy. Forgive the pomp on the first page, I need more practice on my snappy patter.

Firestorm-<At the Henry Ford estate in Dearborn> Wow now that is a wedding I am getting married next year but at a golf course in Livonia that was our first choice but since we are inviting over 300 people it did not fit in the budget. The sad part is that the only family I have is my parents and sister, her kids and my grandma, my grandfather passed away a little while ago so the rest are friends and my fiance's side of the family. Talk about out of control, this wedding is becoming that :) Let me know what I need to do to get this bid going for Detroit I am new to the site and would really like to contribnute

That's right, I couldn't have afforded it. Besides, I didn't meant it geographically. I meant that I missed The cheers in the CR, The virtually throwing of rice, the celebration in here and everything else.
<<Must be nice... must be nice... the little gnomes under the bed demand it...>>
*I come up from under the bed* I'm no gnome, I'm 1.92 meter tall (sorry, I don't know the high in feet) *I return back under bed and put out the light for tonight.*

Gside: <sure your gown looked lovely.>
Oh yes. And LM looked absolutely radiant in her tux
<AKA muzak so they don't get too bored waiting.>
Actually, that's the prelude. The pre-processional is when the bridesmaids come in. No one played my prelude CD either
<I don't think the mother thing has to be the cause of the father part of it.>
Ah, either way is fine by me. Kill my parents, have sex with them... same difference
<Does it bend light so I don't walk into walls?>
Even better! It makes it so you DON'T have to walk!
<Why'd he want to go through the hassle of moving all his stuff back over here?>
Being close to family?
<Well, we've already proven that there is only one old slavic woman that gets shared among the demographic>
Yes, this is true. Sadly, she was missing from our wedding
<Some people have no sense of timing.>
I know! I mean, really mom, save some of those tears for the wedding!
<You need to find what it works with. Turkey sandwiches and tuna salad mainly.>
Eww... tuna
I just never really liked the smell of mayo
<But the two egg thing would still have a level population growth even starting out with a large group (barring the harem thing).>
Level population growth = zero net population growth, right?
<A few people may have seen me, but they were just hallucinating>
Oh, I know you actually live in the ocean itself
<Off the chandelier?>
Na... Although...
<Now that's a good sleep.>
We needed it. We had been averaging 2-4 hours per night for a week
<Don't preying mantises just eat the head?>
I think they just start with the head and eat it all.
<It's like procrastination, but without the list of things that has to be done.>
It is a nice job, isn't it? The best part is there is no staff members that want to tell you what to do
<Now, now, enough teeth making freiendly smiles impossible.>
Hmm... I think I have enough rows of teeth to make that qualify
<I love the smell of thallium in the morning. Though I don't know how much chromated copper arsenate I inhaled today>
Well, obviously it wasn't enough!

Froggleggs: <I thought when this was discussed you were from Michigan so I am hoping that I guess right>
Oh, you are. I am in Dearborn (well... TECHNICAILLY I am in Plymouth at the moment.)
<I am in the Livonia area>
Ah. So REALLY local. Kewl.
<would love to help financally and also helping with putting it on>
Yeow! Kewl! Now THAT is experience!
<where did you have it at?>
At the Henry Ford estate in Dearborn

Martin M: <Do It, do it. Become NICE, I know you want it. *Note to myself: change your name and duck under*>
Must be nice... must be nice... the little gnomes under the bed demand it...
<I missed it, I can't believe it>
Well, you were understandably out of the country at the time

Dph: <What's the cheapest I can buy a hard drive for?>
New? About $40
Used? Depends on what you want. 10-20 giggers are available for about... oh, $10-$30

DPH - The Elves were going to the Undying Lands, a sort of Tolkienian equivalent to Avalon. (In fact, the chief port of the Undying Lands is named Avallone, and I doubt that that was a coincidence.) Originally the Elves had been summoned to the Undying Lands thousands of years before the events in "The Lord of the Rings", but some of them later on returned to Middle-earth to fight Morgoth (Sauron's predecessor in the title of Dark Lord) who had stolen the Silmarils (three very powerful magical jewels) from them. (You can get the details in "The Silmarillion".) They stayed in Middle-earth for a while even after the war with Morgoth ended, but increasingly began to return, since they realized that they didn't belong anywhere other than the Undying Lands any more.

Hey, it's getting really annoying not being able to surf online while I'm at home, even though I am capable of checking all my email in about 30 minutes.

I watched LOTR:ROK last night. Where did the elves go to?

**YuGiOh spoilers**

Poor Yugi, I really didn't get a chance to spice up his deck to help with his god card. I have a couple of theories about what is happenning next. Apparantly the duel between Kiba and Yugi was meant to be private and not broadcast. Side note: By my count, Yugi has gone through (at least) 18 cards, or 36% of his deck, in an effort to keep his god card powered up. If he keeps this pace up, he'll run out of cards. Still, the status quo was kept for the entire episode, just a question of manipulating the strength of each god card. Finally, the two gods attacked. I hope they wiped each other out. It's a pity, that, even without spoiler info, I already know who wins, but it really is a question of how the victory is obtained. I really hated it when Kiba counted his Duellist kingdom 'victory' for why he should be #1 when Yugi let Kiba win and Kiba was beat by Pegasus while Yugi beat Pegasus.
**END YugiOh Spoilers**

Yipee, 3 ip numbers are mine.

What's the cheapest I can buy a hard drive for?

I'm back after two weeks of projects and work, work, work.
So, What did I miss? Let me see. Aha, ... Aha, ... Ok.
Here we go.

Gside>><<I am now much less hairy than I was yesterday, and I have a braid well over a foot long lying on my desk. I think I'll start petting it, but what should I call it?>>
here goes another hair style crippled. I think on the day anyone would attempt to cut my hair, I will get claws and fangs and show him what it means to be cut.

Fire Storm>><<I have got to stop doing this. I am becoming... NICE! AHHH! GOT TO STOP BEING NICE!>>
Do It, do it. Become NICE, I know you want it. *Note to myself: change your name and duck under*

Kyryn>>Congratulation. She is just adorable. Girls can be a such an enrichment, especially when they are so cut.

Tharos>><<And WOOH, graduated from high school last night... that was pretty cool.>>
Congrats to you, too.

About the rampage driver>> I can understand that he was angry, after all that. But can anyone tell me what brings those people to the point where they cross the line between being angry and wrecking half a city.

Ronald Reagan *I stand up clad in black, raise my right hand to the heart and let a minute pass in silence*

Fire Storm and Lady Mystic>>I missed it, I can't believe it. But, all the best whishes to the both of you, I'm sure you were just made for each other.

Brutis>>If you're looking for a name, then you should get out a good old Scotch or Irish Whiskey and read yourself through the archives while you sip on your drink. Then names will just pop into your head. At least it helps me. And I have to agree with Bud-Clare Gargoyles originally had no names, and when the clan came to NY they choose their names out of landmarks, named by humans, without much reason.

Ray Charles' death> *I stand up again, put on sunglasses and lower my head for fife minutes in silence.* Ray had the ability to put a tear into the driest eye's. Here goes a great man. He shall never be forgotten.

Spike>>Tengu is finished? I have to read the rest ASAP. But I will finish my post before that.

<Summary>This were two weeks with a lot of things to celebrate and a lot of things to mourn about. But life goes on.
See you all next week.

Wedding: Thank you all for your well wishes! LM and I are going to go over the pics we have somewhat soon and we will post a few for everyone to view.

Gside: <Sorry, I meant average the tastes out by age group or extremeness to wind up with just Classic Rock.>
Ah, it's ok anyway. We didn't end up having time for our dances, and no one played the CD's I DID create during the reception. All we ended up playing was the pre-processional, the processional, and the recessional
<As long as it gets done.>
Yeah... but I want to head "New York, New York"
<Then we are in agreement about your oedipal complex.>
Well, I want to kill my father for completely different reasons...
<At least I could keep breathing.>
Don't forget that a facehugger feeds you oxygen, letting you take a break from that pesky breathing
<Naperville. My grandfather got transferred between Bell Labs divisions before he retired.>
Ah. Never heard of it. And he stayed there after retiring, I take it
<From a small sampling, it appears to me that little old slavic women come equiped with huge handbags crammed with lose tissues.>
Surprisingly, very few slavic women were there. Mostly it was women of descent from the British Isles. And the crying was at a minimum. My mom cried more at the rehearsal than the wedding.
<You know how to cook things that aren't humans?>
Surprisingly, yes. I had to re-learn how to cook non-humans for LM. She isn't really big on cannibalism
<Alton Brown puts in some cayenne.>
Hmm... sounds good. Now, if I only liked mayo...
<If there were an imbalance in the male/female birth rate (can be done because sperm have different characteristics based on whether they have asn x or y) and they go for harems>
Then you have a genetic diversity issue. Either way, the species is in trouble
<Like anyone would want to come to Jersey for it.>
Oh yeah. NO ONE really lives in Jersey anyway
<Congratulations. I hope you were gentle with the Lady for the wedding night.>
Oh yeah! We did what EVERY newly wed couple did on their wedding night!
...
Crashed ;)
...
And woke up 16-18 hours later.
<And that she hasn't devoured you yet>
Small stomach. Won't happen!
<That allegedly falls to me, but they haven't told me anything they want done.>
Nice, eh?

Spike: <(FireStorm, don't be surprised if you, Lady Mystic and Coyote get an email about this -- your former bid came up)>
I have no problem doing it, but if we DO, we will need a lot more help. Planning the wedding gave us a bit of experience on planning a large gathering, but it would be very helpful if we would be able to delegate some of the work to others.
The #1 problem is financial, as far as we can tell. Yeah, registration seems to cover a lot of the costs, but it's the deposit that's the killer.

Brutis: <no nice is good nice is great....take a deep breath and embrace the nice inside you>
But... but... the FRIENDLY smiling! The NOT killing people! and... HELPING!
NO! NO! NO! I CAN'T!
<is he still out there or did they get him...its hard to tell from the news reports end.>
From what I read later, they found him dead a few days later from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Kyryn: Awww! SO cute! Congrats!

Dph: <Only because of humans.>
Very true. BUT even though we ARE the cause of their loss in numbers, that doesn't mean that we are the sole cause. By their very nature, they are slow to recover from disasters. I think that without human intervention in HELPING gargoyles survive in the past, they would have gone extinct long ago. Looking at what we saw of the species from the show, gargoyles don't migrate too much. Each clan seems pretty focused on protecting a rather small area and they probably don't go too far from that unless the clan gets too big, forcing a few gargoyles to go out to make a new clan. That new clan, without a place to go to, most likely has a high failure rate unless they clan manages to find a good cave or whatnot.
Now, here comes humans. On the bad side, humans attack and drive gargoyles out, probably making the clan split up into smaller ones, thus making the chance that one disaster doesn't cause all the gargoyles in the area to die.
On the positive side, humans make a castle or some other building for the gargoyles to stay. Humans provide food for the clan, the clan protects the humans. When the human population gets too big, the humans move and some gargoyles go with them. Now you have gargoyles going huge distances because humans seem to have a bit of a need to explore and go over the horizon, so as humans expand, so do gargoyles. When humans go to a new place, they build castles or whatnot, and the humans can MAKE a rookery for the gargoyles, making it easier for a clan to get a foothold in an area.
Then there is the food issue. I don't really see gargoyles being much in the way of real farmers for some reason. I think it's the whole not going out during the day thing that gets me. I see them as herding livestock, hunting and fishing, but not farming. In come humans with farming. More food, more possibilities for the clan to survive.
Yeah, humans kill a lot of gargoyles, but humans also help gargoyles survive, in my opinion.

Froggleggs: <I posted last week saying if someone bid for Detroit next convention I would be glad to help and also have some money to give>
Oh yeah, that was me. Where are you (city)?

Christine: <Chalk up another one to Greg's "romantic concept." >
TECHNICAILLY, we met before we became involved in the fandom.
But LM letting me borrow her Gargoyles tapes was a sign that she really trusted me...

Revel: <Congrats to Firestorm and his Lady! He won't care that it's late since he's busy with.... yeah.>
Definitely not, especially since I wasn't able to catch up on the CR until nearly a week later!

Justin: <I don't know about writing, but if y'all need help with the website, I'm pretty good with HTML.>
Hold yer horses! ;)
I just got done with my wedding, so I will be getting back to it soon.

actually, a little clarity on Timedancer-

for one, season 5 is going to be the last season; it will wrap back around to "out of joint". (which isn't a spoiler, because frankly, the series couldn't properly end without doing that).
Two, you may know how it ends, but you don't know how they get *to* there, hee... ]; )
Three- the staff are currently putting most of their effort to reading through everything in every season that has come to pass, for reasons that should be obvious.

that reminds me... *goes off to write an email*

"Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Talkin' 'bout Georgia
I'm in Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear as moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
Georgia, sweet Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back
It always leads back to you
I'm in Georgia, Georgia, sweet Georgia
No peace, no peace I find

Ok, I keep expecting Yugi to use Card-Destruct when playing his god-card. Why? The effect of drawing 4 cards. It's nice to see YuGi has that face-down card, which before now, Yugi hasn't bothered to play yet.

Honestly, I still keep expecting Kiba to pull out his Crush card. Sorry, but I keep wondering how Yugi will defeat the Crush card this time.

Oh yea, things are still predictable: Yugi always struggles through every duel [can count the number of times Yugi didn't struggle in a duel?] or Kiba always starts his duel with the upper hand. Always.

**End YuGiOh Spoilers**

<It's pretty easy to tell how Time Dancer ends - especially if you've read the main series. And "Out of Joint - Part 2", the second episode of TD, has Brooklyn's return to Manhattan right after he left. >

***Spoilers For Those Who Haven't Read Timedancer****

Yes but the last episode written for the series has Alex and Artus being imprisoned by Hartoth, Nicholas II and Maeve planing to take over the world and several other loose ends that could have made a great 5 and (if necessary) 6 season.

*Warpmind strafes in for a quick post before heading to work*
Hey again. I have barely time to post! Whoo!

Gside: Squid that attacked Lain? Naw; you must remember, I work at an advertising company. We get some, ah, interesting workloads from time to time. *Grabs a rag and starts cleaning saber* I mean, there's a LOT happening in advertising that Mundanes never hear about... And my company doesn't even do radio or TV commercials. };)

Lain: Well, those scary red eyes REALLY do fit that outfit. ;) Good pic.

But that ends my post, as I sally forth to the bus stop. *Flings backpack over shoulder and slips ninja-to under jacket* Off to another day of strife and labor. Hopefully, we won't have to contend with those xenos in the ventilation ducts today... ;P

Which gargoyles?

<<And even if they did, why would they want to be named off of some human hero?>>
But they don't care. The manhattan clan chose their names more or less at random, because it means nothing to them one way or another. Most of the other clans seem to go with simple names, indicating that they don't care too much more than the manhattan clan does.

Thanks!

Annie - *shrug* I always thought it was kind of cool how the series made references to mythology with character names. Same with fanfics, and sometimes the names are just so fitting.

And even if they did, why would they want to be named off of some human hero? I would think they would want something unique that might go down as famous for their own race, or at least use people's names that actually meant something to them. But it could just be me.

Congrats to Fire Storm and Lady Mystic!

For all of you who are waiting for it, the last minute is quickly approaching. There are only 38 days left to pre-register for The Gathering 2004. The deadline is July 15, and after that, pay at the door prices kick in.

And for those who love to count, there are 59 days left until The Gathering 2004 in Montreal, Quebec!

To start off right.

Congrats to Firestorm and his Lady! He won't care that it's late since he's busy with.... yeah.

Spike- LOL so you got locked in the stairwell too At least we weren't the only ones. we ended up going to the first floor, and then back to the third and I just banged on the door as much as I could till someone opened it, which they finally did. The other nightmare besides the escelators breaking were the elevators and how they were so crowded every time. Wonder if anyone got stuck. Great to finally meet you.

I have my A-kon images on my puter, just need to revamp my photos page a little then I'll post the link. (incliding Lain and the attack of the redish pink tentecle squid)

hey yall...

hey i got a favor for the room. i have a male gargoyle carecter that i need to name. i dont have a pic but i do have a good description of him and his persona. i cant come up with anything to name this guy.

he is still young so he is only about 5 foot or so he is a blue/grey color. he has short shaggy brown hair, ears like broadway, horns like brooklyn. he has elbow spurs only and supported wings. he has the simple hooks on his wings. he wears the traditinal loin cloth and a scragly vest that is never buttened.

his persona is he is kinda quiet and slightyl reserved but if something does not agree with him he will not be shy to tell them.. he will stand up for himslef and/or his friends or things he belives in. he is very quizitive. he wont start a fight but at the same time wont back down from one.

ok i hope this is enuf to start with
ive got a few bouncing in my head but they sound to human. i need one that is not too human sounding
if yall got any suggestions i am open

Congrats, Lady Mystic and FireStorm!!

In Garg-related news, we had a mini-Gathering of Texas garg fans at A-kon Saturday during my life-drawing panel. Shinga & Spotweld from S8, Lurking Fish & Gunjack (who I called Mr. Fish because I couldn't for the life of me think of his name!), Revel, and BrooklynX showed up. Lurking Fish and Shinga both were gracious enough to model on Saturday and Spotweld modeled for me on Sunday (in a kilt!).

Since this was the first time that A-kon was in this hotel, there were a lot of glitches to work around. The art show was on the 3rd floor with the console games and when the escalators broke down, most people preferred to stay on the 2nd floor with dealer's room. Ironically, using the stairs was a pain because the doors were locked from the outside. I wound up climbing down to the street level to get out once! Other than that, it was great to finally have enough space to spread out -- A-kon is usually draws a big crowd.
