Yes, I'm finally back online from home again.

Saturday I bought a 60 gig hard drive for $53 and I spent Saturday night and Sunday trying to get the internet connection to work and it finally does.

No, I'm not quite back up to speed :-( I lost the addresses I had listed on AIM and I'm missing 1 of my recovery disks. But the important thing is I'm back online from home.

Froggleggs: <Did they RSVP saying they were coming and not show up?>
Yep. They all RSVP'ed and then they didn't show.
<I am lucky with my family being soo small and close that I know they will all be at mine>
You can hope, at least.
<the only one that might not go is my grandma, but were really close and by then I think I can convience her, she just is still sad about loosing my grandpa>
...
Ok, now that is too frigging close (what and where) to what happened here. Out of curiosity, when did your grandpa die?
<Understandable I could not imagine loosing someone that I spent more then 1/2 of my life with.>
Yeah, I know... I couldn't imagine it either, but I have a greatgrandma who so far has survived her husband of 60 years by 15.

Patrick: <Yep, Gore was the trailblazer>
"Wear dress, young man!"
<That's why Greg calls the prize given out every year at the Masquerade the "Gorelisa Memorial Award.">
I miss that award!

Gside: <How large was the sample, 21 people?>
Typical phase 3 clinical trial of 1000 people.
<Like Martin said, whiskey (or maybe vodka).>
Tequila?
<Grog? No way they'd water down their rum.>
Shows you what I know about alcohol!
<Never roofed, but just today I repaired a roller coaster.>
Ok, you REALLY need to tell more details of this!
<Just like different cuts of meat lend themselves to different things, so should different people be applied to the cuisine that fits them.>
Very much agreed. But if I am going to have to listen to my sister b$%& about me eating another boyfriend, I at LEAST want a decent steak out of it
<Just delay their hatching until a bit more than the average trip through the gastrointestinal track (or add more laxatives into the supplied drugs).>
Or vomit
<I guess when I get married I'll have to book Edison's, then>
Hmm... correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't his moved here to Greenfield Village? (or was that just his lab)
<Well, there's no hope for you now.>
I never said there was. I have known for a very long time that I was beyond all reasonable measures of hope
<Your memory's going. By the way, could I borrow ten bucks?... By the way, could I borrow ten bucks?>
Didn't I just lend you... what were you saying?
<Dress implies an attached top, but a skirt is only the lower part.>
Hmm... ok, I can concede that point. But, by that logic then, should we group pants & shorts into the same category as coveralls?
<As long as he's wearing a couple melons in a bra>
Or really nice balloons
<Get a cloak and learn to speak all in caps>
OMGWTFBBQ! I LIEK HOW J00 THINK!
<Even mice need love. And everyone needs some pest control>
*laughs* I just thought of Stewart Little meeting a tiny facehugger!
Na, that would SUCK as pest control. We are harder to kill than roaches!
<It all depends on what you were doing while you were wearing it.>
Well, it most CERTAINLY had nothing to do with covering myself with chocolate syrup and strapping wings onto some of the local large animals, that's for sure!

Martin> <<Not too hard on my side, but once in a while>>: By hard I meant more that they drank hard liquor, not necessarially that they drank a lot of it.

Patrick> <<Impossible. The first countdown I did was for The Gathering 1998. My first costume where I wore a skirt was Captain Chavez at The Gathering 2000>>: But crossdressing brings fame nigh instantly, while a countdown needs a couple years of repetition to gain even a lesser amount.

Fire Storm> <<These symptoms occurred in less than 5% of the test subjects and may have had something to do with the fact the subject was a thief>>: How large was the sample, 21 people?
<<if you are going to bribe them, you need something that whets their palate>>: Like Martin said, whiskey (or maybe vodka).
<<more than their usual grog>>: Grog? No way they'd water down their rum.
<<um... be ok at roofing>>: Never roofed, but just today I repaired a roller coaster.
<<Sure, he could flavor stew, but I really prefer my humans to be grilled>>: Just like different cuts of meat lend themselves to different things, so should different people be applied to the cuisine that fits them.
<<Now all I have to do is to make the children come out in a way that DOESN'T kill their hosts>>: Just delay their hatching until a bit more than the average trip through the gastrointestinal track (or add more laxatives into the supplied drugs).
<<But I have a BIT more love for Ford, especially since I got married at his house>>: I guess when I get married I'll have to book Edison's, then.
<<I went to Ghastly's, looked it up, and STILL spelled it wrong>>: Well, there's no hope for you now.
<<Are you certain in your uncertainty?>>: Maybe.
<<How could I EVER forget the GLORIOUS orgies>>: Your memory's going. By the way, could I borrow ten bucks?... By the way, could I borrow ten bucks?
<<And a skirt is a subset of a dress!>>: Dress implies an attached top, but a skirt is only the lower part.
<<Maybe, just maybe, he will dress up as a woman who dressed up as a man>>: As long as he's wearing a couple melons in a bra.
<<But, alas, I have no decent costume>>: Get a cloak and learn to speak all in caps.
<<I think it would be weird seeing little mouse-huggers scampering about>>: Even mice need love. And everyone needs some pest control.
<<T'was simply a costume... or fetish-ware. Not sure which yet>>: It all depends on what you were doing while you were wearing it.

Gside: <I can't see lima beans causing constipation in the gnomes>
They have a weird physiology
<and I'd have thought only riches and red meat would attract dragons, not legumes.>
These symptoms occurred in less than 5% of the test subjects and may have had something to do with the fact the subject was a thief
<Champagne? But they're hard drinkers.>
Oh yes, definitely. BUT if you are going to bribe them, you need something that whets their palate more than their usual grog and mead
<Does he have any job finding tips>
Ask friends... um... be ok at roofing...
<He couldn't even flavor a stew?>
Sure, he could flavor stew, but I really prefer my humans to be grilled
<A lack of resistance buildup is a good thing.>
Definitely! Now all I have to do is to make the children come out in a way that DOESN'T kill their hosts...
<Sounds like it. You've got Ford, I've got Edison...>
Edison was pretty kewl. But I have a BIT more love for Ford, especially since I got married at his house
<F'ga.>
Ah, same difference. I went to Ghastly's, looked it up, and STILL spelled it wrong!
<Not beyond 6.626068*10^-34 m^2kg/s>
Are you certain in your uncertainty?
<Don't forget the orgies.>
The orgies! How could I EVER forget the GLORIOUS orgies!
<But shorts are a subset of pants.>
And a skirt is a subset of a dress!
<We must make sure he doesn't shock us this year. He belongs imortalized as a crossdresser>
Maybe, just maybe, he will dress up as a woman who dressed up as a man!
<Which is why you would cosplay throughout the duration of the con>
But, alas, I have no decent costume. Ever since I realized last year that I wouldn't be able to host g2004, I stopped on the construction of my costume
<I can't see any xenomorph shaped Pictsies, let alone the size>
While it would be pretty cool to see tiny flying xenomorphs, I think it would be weird seeing little mouse-huggers scampering about

Warpmind: <And what with the blue color, Fire Storm is probably converting to Pictsie>
Na. I am simply too large to be one (although, I think I would look good with wings, but that's just me). T'was simply a costume... or fetish-ware. Not sure which yet.
<'Allo, gang. 'Tis a sad day when one feels so sick that even porn loses interest...>
Yeah... been there a few times. The days when you feel so sick that simply "standing at attention" seems like far too much work

Martin M: <Now I know why I'm sometimes so groggy in the morning.>
THAT will teach you!
<Well, I'm not the Champaign type and I'm also not into drugs.>
Really? Hmm... maybe you AREN'T a gnome after all... Then what ARE you?
<Hey, I also work with a gnome>
I KNEW IT! You associate with GNOME!

Not too hard on my side, but once in a while...

Hey, I also work with a gnome. We work together with Solaris 9 on my Sun SPARC Ultra 1 server.

Disney at the gathering? let me check my financials. *I look for a few minutes through my account*. Nope I can't come. Damn... I'm already depending on my aunts and uncles that are supporting me with my studies.

Patrick> <<I knew someday I'd be famous for something besides this countdown>>: I'd say the crossdressing made you famous before the countdown.

Waprmind> <<Tis a sad day when one feels so sick that even porn loses interest>>: That's what sleep is for. Expecially under the influency of some heavy drugs.
<<"Fat sacks of money" is putting it a bit strongly>>: At least you are getting some sacks, as opposed to poor, poor pitiful me.

<<what with the blue color, Fire Storm is probably converting to Pictsie>>: I can't see any xenomorph shaped Pictsies, let alone the size (Nac mac feegle).

On the topic of sick cats -- one of our cats (Eeper) was diagnosed diabetic and we have to give him insulin shots every day etc...

Only good thing about that is it wasnt cancer -- when a cat starts walking like he was usually it is the end but in this case he will probably live as long as his normal lifespan(our 4 indoor cats are from the same litter -- all 10 as of april).

Once daily. Some side effects, and are usually limited to nausea, upset stomach, trolls, constipated gnomes, nosebleed, and dragons.
<Bribery with a bottle of good alcohol should only be about once a month, so it might be worth it.>
But they don't drink the cheap stuff! They want Dom and on top of that, they want a few grams of coke per month! Warding them off with lima beans is VERY cost effective!
<Aren't in laws wonderful?>
Oh yes... the brother in-law-in-laws are VERY fun (The in-laws that LM got when her father re-married). GLAD some of them didn't come. 2 kleptos (one with a hard drug problem that stole LM's dad's new riding mower and sold it for drug money), 1 dumb $h17 who is a freeloader, and the BEST of them is one who can't keep a stable job!
<I guess that puts him on the menu, then.>
Not worth it. Not enough meat on his bones. Besides, I think the brat is going to use him and leave him when she leaves to go to school in Denver next year
<That's good. Are they addictive, though?>
Something that gives pure orgasmic bliss? Addictive as hell! And every time is just as good as the first time too
<They went off in stages, not as a mass familial migration, and it's not that bad of a place, really.>

Why? Shorts and pants enclose the legs separately and the two words work well.
<I'd say Patrick outranks Gorebash by now.>
Oh yes. Definitely. But Gorebash's was more shocking. Patrick's is expected! ;)

Hello my friends and interested strangers. I had some very bad news today (June 18 2004) when I took my boy kitty Ares Love to the veternarian. He's been favoring his left eye, and what I had hoped was only something mild has turned out to be very serious. Somehow Ares has been tagged in his eye, and there is a hole in it. >^@@^< == Watching as the Vet and assisstant held him and took a look, his eye looks like milk glass, all cloudy and damp. NOT GOOD NOT GOOD AT ALL

I've left Ares over the weekend for initial examination surgery and evaluation, which alone has been estimated at $400. This is just the beginning, as there could be more costs involved depending on what happens when the Vet gets in and does what he can to save my boy's eyeball.

I am in a very over stressed financial level right now and could REALLY use help from anyone who would like to donate towards my boy cat's vet hospital bills. I will be putting up some rare and interesting items on eBay as well as doing art and story auctions of my services to try and raise the funds to pay off the initial bills and any additional costs for my beautiful Bengal boy cat. -- If anyone wants to forward my situation and need to others they think may be willing to help, please do. I'm not overly proud. Small Change, Prayers, whatever can be spared will be muchly appreciated.

If anyone wishes to donate through PAY PAL, my e-mail addy is rapturev@yahoo.com -- I'll be keeping updates on my Live Journal so people will know how things are progressing.

Thanks everyone for the time in hearing my beg for my kitty cat. He means a great deal to me and I want him to have the necessary medical care to alleviate any pain and suffering and protect his good health.

Hoping for the Best

There's around 110 people signed up for The Gathering 2004 as of right now. There's still a month to go in pre-registration, so we're hoping to see the numbers continue to grow.

For those fans who absolutely can't attend for whatever reason... please consider ordering a t-shirt, a pin, a copy of the Phoenix Gate Anthology, or buying a supporting membership. Doing any of those things earns you our gratitude and the satisfaction of knowing you're doing something to help ensure the Gathering convention continues to happen year after year.

Every little bit helps, after all. :)

Hey everyone. Long time, no post:P

Anyway, does anyone have a rough estimate on how many people ARE attending the Gathering? I know this year we're looking at some pretty poor numbers due to finances. Damn it... where were these people when we were in CA? Can anyone on staff give us a clue as to how many people have signed up so far? There isn't a counter on the web site... or at least I didn't see one. Knowing how many people CAN make the Gathering would at least be informative. *feels really pouty now...* Darn... eh.. well at least everyone going will be sure to have a shot at getting a spot on the DVD's hey?

<Let me know what I need to do to get this bid going for Detroit I am new to the site and would really like to contribnute>
Well, I didn't hear back from the Gathering staff, so I think they got a few valid bids.

Gside: <Can you also use it for the flower girl and the ring bearer?>
They technically count as the bridesmaids/grooms men, so yeah
<That should have been mindlessly easy enough to do>
SHOULD have, but no one did. I even made a PRINTOUT of when to play music for my sisters b/f, and he missed this
<Do both at the same time for extra points>
"So... tight" *tears off a shoulder with teeth*
<Then it'd better release some good drugs to directly stimulate my pleasure centers to make up for depriving me of porn>
Oh yeah, THAT is assured! My sweet little facehuggers put you into a coma of pure orgasmic bliss that you may never want to leave!
<He already brought a third of it with him, and his sister had already moved out to California a long time ago.>
So why are you still in New Jersey?
<Right, so population size doesn't make any difference on survivability of the species (besides taking a longer time for accidents and illnesses to wipe them out).>
Actually, the species would never be able to recover from an illness or accident. If a female only produces 2 eggs, the only way there would be a measurable increase in the population is if the female:male ratio was majorly skewed.
<All the octopi I could want to molest.>
Hmm... how would a tentacle monster like it if it was molested?
<And everyone expects that to happen after the wedding.>
Well, it IS exhausting physical work, after all!
<I guess some of the males get away after only the head>
You know, I bet there is some feminist joke here about a man not needing his head, but I'll be damned if I can figure it out.
<We should write a bood: "How to Make Uncertainty Work for You.">
That WOULD be a great book!
<I've seen porn that had worse things stuffed in small places.>
Well, yeah, but porn is not reality!
<Everyone wears a dress sometimes.>
Well, at least everyone SHOULD wear a dress sometimes. Although, to be quite honest, I prefer skirts myself
<Feeling a bit pictish?>
I was trying to see how I would look if I was Illaria (Buffy/Angel) or if I held my breath

Tharos: <Did anyone know the heroine capital of the US is in a small town in Pennsylvania?>
Kewl! How?

Patrick: <That's more true for some of us than for others. :P>
Well, you and Gorebash are the queens of that field!

Gathering:
FRELLING HELL!
Are... are we going to be in a DOCUMENTARY on the DVD?
...
I am not sure if that makes me want to try to get there more or less! ;)

BIG NEWS ON THE DVD FRONT

HEY GUYS...

BIG NEWS. SO BIG I'M LOCKING DOWN MY CAPS.

AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, THE FIRST SEASON OF GARGOYLES IS BEING RELEASED THIS YEAR ON DVD TO COINCIDE WITH THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SERIES.

I'VE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT DISNEY IS SENDING A VIDEO CREW TO THE GATHERING OF THE GARGOYLES, OUR ANNUAL CONVENTION, TO TAPE THE FANS, GUESTS, EVENTS, ETC. FOR THE EXTRAS SECTION OF THE DVD.

THAT MEANS IF YOU ATTEND THE CONVENTION THIS AUGUST 6-8 IN MONTREAL, YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO ACTUALLY BE ON THE DVD. LET THAT SINK IN FOR A SECOND.

IF YOU'RE ALREADY SIGNED UP, GREAT. BUT IF NOT -- WELL -- WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!

CHECK OUT THE CON'S WEBSITE AT:

http://www.gatheringofthegargoyles.com/

DON'T MISS THIS GATHERING!!!!!!!! >>

PATRICK - Funny that you should have chosen to go into Paul Revere mode for today's Gathering countdown, since today happens to be an anniversary of a famous event in the American Revolution - but the Battle of Bunker Hill (properly speaking, it should be the Battle of Breed's Hill, which was where it was fought; Bunker Hill was the hill next door) rather than Paul Revere's ride.

This has been another useless fact.

That or my comment about hangovers, *sigh* which probably got a lot more attention than I intended since the room was cleared while I was typing it. :-| D'oh!

Lynati> They're not mine (I don't own a capture card). These are shots I've collected over the years from other webpages because they've caught my eye (nice poses, expressions, etc). So the quality varies, though I suppose at the very least they could tell you where there might be an interesting scene for you to recapture.

This may seem from left field but I just wanted to take a moment to Thank Lynati for doing this screen cap project. I know on more than one occasion I've had to go hunt for pics for the accuracy or because I felt like I forgot something on a cannon character.

SO thank you : )

Gside<<Who couldn't use some extra time? Though looting generally happens during riots, and I haven't heard much of riots against time.>>
I was running late, so I thought it was a good idea to loot time itself. But let me tell you, the trouble finding it was nothing compared to the amount of time I got out of it. But if you like we could start a demonstration against how time is forcing us to live under its rules. Demo's often have the tendency to end in riots.

This time: I look at the time and realize, I'm late again.
See you all later.

And the sad part is that the really scary thing is the WTFedness of the hangover I shall have tomorrow. Off to bed with me.
