Current Episode
I have not been on here in forever, it seems really dead in here this week- well it is only 10:00 am and I think I have drank way to much caffiene, a mountain dew and a red bull in the last hour- what was I thinking

Not feeling real good today. There wasn't much to do at work today, so I poured up a mess of foam and started building a mockup of an automatic shotgun. It passes the time, I guess... If I can finish it before I leave, I'll see if I can post pics.
Firestorm><<Interferes with Hobbits.>> *Laughs* ...Dude, that is one nice textbook... What's it called?
<<I... I am quite speechless. Is... is that REAL?>> Looks like it. There were a few other things I wanted to post too. "Keep your Jesus off my P***s", "Poisonous Legacy", stuff like that, but they were a little to ripe for normal postin'.
*coughcoughbushflashcough*
The poisonous legacy one is especially tasty.
Gside><<Remember, assume the cow is a sphere.>> If your head is on fire and your feet encased in a block of ice, on average you're fine.
<< Is that from nubile, Nubian, or noob?>> Take your pick, but Noob.
<<right, but they're not quite appropriate for your average random encounter.>> Who said anything 'bout random encounters? These guys are all special. The diplomats talk using a modified self-playing violin.
<<If they ultimately want to take me. But I'm having some doubts, it looks like they want more people for support, and I'm a geek.>> Always good to pick up a new skill or two... I didn't enjoy it much, but working as a salesman for a while did nice things for my human interaction capabilities.

Gunjack> <<I guess both are feeling the same ull, so I suppose that makes sense>>: Essentially, but the correct terminology for gravity gets a bit funky (it's not the same force on both because the force varies with mass), so it might interfere with getting people to believe it works.
<<Yeah, those are cool. Kinda finicky, but cool>>: At least it wasn't a B. S. (Bloody Stupid) Johnson design. Then you know it would have finicked.
<<All tech systems need their "bleeding-edge" technology to impress the locals with>>: right, but they're not quite appropriate for your average random encounter.
<<Whoa. Fast>>: I was impressed.
<<Gonna take it?>>: If they ultimately want to take me. But I'm having some doubts, it looks like they want more people for support, and I'm a geek.
<<That would be why I said "theoretically">>: Remember, assume the cow is a sphere.
<<Nube>>: Is that from nubile, Nubian, or noob?
Fire Storm> <<Interferes with Hobbits>>: Just imagine if one of those had hit one of the eagles when they were doing their deus ex machina bit.

More quotes from my computer book:
(On satelite systems)
Middle Earth Orbit (MEO)
~6,000 - 13,000 miles
Reduced latency and lower power. Need more than one satelite to cover a given area. Can't use the system until all are in palce. Interferes with Hobbits.

Yes, I somewhat live.
Just wanted to post this story. Apparently, some smart bank robbers took advantage of the fact that since Bush and Kerry were in the same city, the cops would be busy taking care of them and robbed 3 banks.

Gside><< In most demonstrations, it's lower than the monkey (the monkey starts in a tree, the gun's on the ground).>> Huh... I guess both are feeling the same ull, so I suppose that makes sense... <<But Canon's a good song.>> And one I already have. Not gonna waste a buncha time DLing a two hour movie that doesn't want to DL, just for THAT...
<<And it's not a magazine in the way you're thinking of.>> Ah, a Harmonica action. Yeah, those are cool. Kinda finicky, but cool.
<<Should be good enough, as long as the electics are rareish and self contained.>> All tech systems need their "bleeding-edge" technology to impress the locals with...
<<Well, I actually got a call back already today.>> Whoa. Fast. Gonna take it?
Tharos><<That's only if the barrel that you're firing out of is facing perfectly horizontal.>> That would be why I said "theoretically". Also, the ground would have to be perfectly level, and compensate for the earth's curvature.
Fourteen days to go. That buggered ticket I got for riding the train without a fare is rearn' it's head too. It's too late to pay off the Dart people, but I can't handle it legally because they haven't transfered the ticket to the court yet. When they do, I gotta plea, and then set a date... which there ain't much time to do, since I have to, y'know, leave the country.
Good times all the way around.

Gunjack> <<Assuming the barrel and monkey are at the exact same hight and the barrel is perfectly level>>: Nope, barrel of the gun can be any height relative to the monkey. In most demonstrations, it's lower than the monkey (the monkey starts in a tree, the gun's on the ground). Give me a distance, height, and initial velocity, and I should be able to do the math for you.
<<Or you can fire one bullet and drop another, and theoretically they'll hit the ground at the same time>>: Heck, fire one forward and fire one backward and they'll land at the same time.
<<Ah. *cancels download*>>: But Canon's a good song.
<<But with a magazine? Curious>>: Leonard's a curious person. And it's not a magazine in the way you're thinking of. Weld some tubes side to side, weld on a toothed bar on the back (so it can be geared through the gonne), drill a hole in the top of each tube. Then fill each tube with gunpowder and top with lead.
<<Jeeve's deadpan beats any amount of randomness and foolery>>: That's not to say that there isn't any deadpan in Pratchett. It is British, after all.
<<OR SO YOU THINK>>: Well, I don't remember our priest declaring any side to take.
<<I kinda draw a line between simple electric-powered devices (exotic things like light bulbs, basic electric motors), and ELECTRONICS involving curcuit-boards and such>>: Should be good enough, as long as the electics are rareish and self contained.
<<Still looking?>>: Well, I actually got a call back already today.
<<Figured you'd have found sommat by now>>: I have no experience, and I haven't been looking constantly.
Tharos> <<Damn Trig. I hated Trig>>: Trig's not bad. It's when they throw i in there and convert back and forth with e^ix that it started getting funky for me.

That's only if the barrel that you're firing out of is facing perfectly horizontal. If it's angled up or down at all, that's a whole new can of worms. Damn Trig. I hated Trig.

Correction: 15 days till departure.
Got a sweet new tune; Gside, you might wanna try this one. "Golden Brown", by the Stranglers.
Gside><<You actually aim right at the monkey because gravity works on the monkey and the bullet to the same degree.>> Assuming the barrel and monkey are at the exact same hight and the barrel is perfectly level... yes. Also, you can fire a colt .45 (muzzle velocity approximately 650 mph) out the tail ramp of a C-130 (cruising speed aproximately 650 mph), and relative to the ground, the bullet just drops straight down. Or you can fire one bullet and drop another, and theoretically they'll hit the ground at the same time.
<<A summary of the series for the first half>> Ah. *cancels download*
<<Nope, rifle, or at least long barreled.>> But with a magazine? Curious.
<<It's not really the sort of thing to guffaw at.>> I dunno, man... guess it's a matter of taste. Personally, Jeeve's deadpan beats any amount of randomness and foolery.
<< The Vatican's not involved there.>> OR SO YOU THINK!!!
<<A literary genre that applies science fiction or fantasy elements to historical settings and that features steam-powered, mechanical machines rather than electronic devices.>> I dunno... I kinda draw a line between simple electric-powered devices (exotic things like light bulbs, basic electric motors), and ELECTRONICS involving curcuit-boards and such. Anyway, I'll post some of the concept art when I get to Canada and Lain's scanner.
<< I may be predictable, but at least I'm strange. And I advocate more love in the world.>> I agree so strongly that I just quit my job and bought a plain ticket to secure it.
<<ell, I sent out 73 resumes today. Cost me around $50 to do that. I think I'll focus more on the internet for my job search.>> Still looking? o.O ...Figured you'd have found sommat by now. If ya can't, do like me and go into warehouse work. Builds the muscles, and leaves the mind free for nobler thoughts...
