Tharos:<Then we went down the river and tried to board people's vessels and such.> Well as long as you remember not to cross the line to theft, rape, and murder. Other wise in prison or worse yet hanged (the traditional punishment for pirates).<What is wrong with me?)> Maybe you're compensating for something that's missing in your life, but I'll leave Freud's work to Freud.

**Angel Spoilers**
I saw the Angel/Buffy crossover tonight on repeats and noticed history wasn't exactly immutable, but altering history came with a BIG price tag, to the point where it's not to be done lightly. This is pretty close to what I believe in the ability to change history - it comes with such a high price tag that only a few would want to even consider paying it. One side question: Does Angel ever tell Buffy about the sacrifice he made?

In a side note, it's a wonder that kind of demon isn't captured, just for its blood. A large quantity of regenetative blood would always be a good thing to have in storage.

Umm, how does one spook a snake? I spotted a black snake in my house and umm . . the idea of going to sleep while a snack is potentially lose . . isn't inviting and it's not too feasible to apply Dr Seus logic to find the snake.

Um... yaarrr. (Today brings back memories of a canoe trip on which my friends and I all had fake parrots, pirate hats, pirate accents, and someone even rigged up a quite intricate sail system. Then we went down the river and tried to board people's vessels and such. What is wrong with me?)

**WB Spoilers**

I have to give "The Batman" an F- for characterization. Where do I start? I watched an encore presentation of "The Batman". Bruce Wayne was portrayed as being halfway through recovery. It's ok for Bruce Wayne to be halfway through recovery, but Batman really should be incredibly somber. This technology really diminishes Batman's role as the world's greatest detective. Basically, his supercomputer (am I overguessing what kind of computer that really is) just monitors police band for events for Batman to respond to and he goes. That's . . leaving a lot of detective work to be desired. The crime boss with his underlings committing petty robbery doesn't work. Crime bosses would want to keep their hands 'clean' and delegate responsibility to somebody else to avoid being caught in person. How did the joker get so athletic?

YuGiOh - I would recommend going to www.tvtome.com if you don't mind spoilers to see how things turn out. I'd rather compare YuGiOh to Digimon as far as plot goes. One problem, though, I would have liked to see more foreshadowing of Kiba leaving off to build amusement parks. The only clue we saw that that was coming was during the little side-trip to VR to meet Noah. Kiba's motivations are still crazy. Why does he equate beating Yugi as a means of leaving his past behind? That whole motivation doesn't quite fit. At least, Kiba is going off to do somethign he promised Mokuba they would eventually do. As long as Mokuba plays it smart (doesn't mention Yugi & company's names), Seto's spirits should improve. Doing something you really want to do has a tendacy to improve one's spirits.

Jackie Chan Adventures - If the intent is to explore various Eastern mythologies, then yes, it's good. Otherwise, it does get old fast.

December b-days... sigh. Mine is Christmas Eve. I missed being a Christmas baby by half an hour *~_~*, not that it makes much difference as most people combine my b-day/x-mas gift in one 'covers both' item. In pure defense I started celebrating my b-day on Halloween *^_^* Me like candy!

Well, I'm alerting all the lists I'm on about Gargoyles coming out and drumming up interest where I can. wuff...

hmmm... I wonder if there is any way to get a wholesale/discount price for buying many copies of the dvd set... I plan to give it to everyone for Christmas regardless. I shall be ruthless this year. *resolve* Usually I take time to custom buy my gifts to the taste of the receiver, but I'll hold firm. Gargoyles is what people are going to get. Well, unless they are already in the fandom because they should already be getting the set on their own. wuff...

hmmm strangely full.

You're a December birth kathy? Get out. Mine is the fourth. It's too bad the fifth doesn't fall on a tuesday. Disneyanics would go for it too being Walt Disney's birthday and all. Anyone know why Tuesdays are the industries DVD release day. Just curious.

Saturday Morning>
OK, the fall season is here and I thought I'd toss in my totally unsolicited opinion on the Saturday morning cartoons. I'm covering WB today. Fox and the others when they put on new series later this month.

Teen Titans: Grade C
The low quality hijinks continue. Robin and his band of can't-be-taken-seriously superhero friends strut about the stage. Unlike its grown-up sibiling Justice League, there aren't real relationships or character development. The fights will keep the finger off the remote. For me I forgot about this episode half an hour later.

Xiaolin Showdown: Grade A
A good ep in an up-and-coming series. The priemer follows the story set up last season. Wuya's freed and now the chosen ones have to find a way to trap her again. I particularly like the M Escher theme of the showdown. It is the one show I look forward to on KidsWB, primarily because it doesn't treat its audience as recent graduates of Teletubbies.

The Batman: Grade B-
I went in with a fair mind. My biggest question was which Batman would they portray. The stoic, brooding Dark Knight that spawned the cult classic of an animated series or the Caped Crusader, the deus ex hero set up to defeat his gallery of rogues. I remained mix favoring liking it. The animation style doesn't impress me and the toy tie-in with the Batwave was introduced in clunky fashion. The fights were good, though the Joker as some Street Figther Blanka clone threw me. Wild-haired and bare foot? Yeah, I know minicars full of clowns like that.

Yugioh Waking the Dragons: Grade D
They put dragons in the title so I'm compelled to watch. Even against my better judgment. This season's latest attempt to make a card game with monsters interesting promises that the monsters will be real. Yawn! You know I always wondered why no one until now thought to knock grandpa yugi out and just steal the cards. Season after season you see low level lackeys trying forcing Yugi to duel in order to win the card. I assumed there was some rule that a stole card wouldn't work or something that justified these long winded battles. Nope, turns out no one thought to grab a tire iron and bash a few heads to get the powerful cards that will enable them to rule the world.

Yugi making the same mistake inherent to the Power Ranger genre. The next bad guy is more powerful than the last who was the ultimate power. A neverending and uninteresting cycle of power-ups. Again Yawn!

Didn't watch:
Jackie Chan Adventures - That series ran out of steam after the second season.

Pokemon Advance - I'm not a fan and only fans will watch Ash and friends discover yet even more new pokemons while fending of Team Rocket.

Da Boom Crew - I gave it until the first commercial break to show me something. It didn't so I changed the channel.

I know who cares. But I know some of you guys are cartoon nuts and I thought I'd toss in my $0.02.

Ciao

News from Greg posted at S8 gargoyles

Gang,

I just talked to the folks at Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

I asked them what was the best date for us to MASS ORDER/PURCHASE the 1st Season Gargoyles Series DVD.

My contact was unequivocal in his response.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7th, 2004.

Yep, that's right the day of the release. I guess anything earlier is nice but winds up being too early to be useful. But day and date with the release is exactly what we need.

In the meantime, BV encourages ALL OF YOU to go to Amazon and rave in the comments/reviews section. Leading up to Dec 7, the more good buzz on Amazon's site the better.

(Remember this is the make or break event in the fandom. It's time to prove to Disney once and for all that we have the bodies and the dollars and the fanbase and the communications skills to support more Gargoyles product -- both merchandise and creative. If we can't prove it with this DVD release... well, we're not likely to get another chance.)

So spread the word. SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!!!

The DVD is coming out December 7th. And we'd like EVERYBODY to ORDER/PURCHASE it on THAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Timedancer as an original concept was Greg Weisman's idea, creator of Gargoyles, and it was pitched to Disney along with the concepts of Dark Ages, Pendragon, Gargoyles **** (some future date), New Olympians and Bad Guys... And at the time they were submitted Disney was not interested in a new series. The fanfic series by the fans were created because there was no continuation by Disney, and let's give it up for the time, talent and dedication it took for all the TGS crew and other fans who keep the torch lit.
