Indeed, most of Rhapsody's albums are fantastic (having them all I know.) It's the perfect music for setting a mood for any form of fantasy based writing or viewing or even playing. Don't believe me? Listen to Reign of A Thousand Flames before playing a action packed game of D & D. It inspires.

DPH: I read The Divine Comedy for an English class once (And it's awesome, by the way - my favorite next to 1984). I couldn't find much online, but the copy of the book I have has a ton of discussion on symbolism. Also, try and find some information on Dante's life, which is very important to understand the significance of how the whole thing's laid out. And I'm assuming you already checked sparknotes.
And oh good freakin' God! If any of you are ever in a CD store and get a chance to take a listen to Rhapsody's "Symphony of Enchanted Lands pt. 2 - The Dark Secret," PLEASE DO. This is fantasy and music at its best. There's even a timeline of the world they created in the back of the album book. (Angel's Year 5091 - Gargoyle's Holy War... damn straight).

Hey all. Fairly new here, only just gotten hold of the time and resources to work on some Gargoyles related fanfiction etc. Currently developing the characters- likely to consist of Clan Heart and Draconis (human with a suit of powered armour) amongst others. Must say the resources here are fantastic inspiration and are top notch. Not too certain if it's been updated recently but hey, guess I may as well stake out. Anyone who wants to contact me can do so by AIM (DarkStarSabre) or MSN (blackheart_renegade@hotmail.com). Look forward to speaking to ya'll here.

HoE> <<What, are you insane?>>: Yes, but that's beside the point. It may actually be fun to play at being clueless. Notice that the originator of B1FF was respected in the community, wrote the Flamer's Bible, and even automated the B1FFisms with a translator he wrote himself.
<<I consider most AOL chatter and abbreviations such as LOL to be borderline Newspeak>>: I wouldn't say that; it doesn't have the connotations of retconning history. It's just a matter of abbreviations, coincidental typos, and a lack of typing skill having formed themselves into what is considered a sign of great skill by all the wannabe haxxors.
DPH> <<You really, really oughta consider changing your nickname because of the abbreviation your nick looks like>>: But that's half the fun.
Damien> <<I think my english language translator fritzed out trying to read firestorms post>>: "My word, why would you speak pejoritively about such a dialect? I find its use extraordinarially stimulating."
HoE> <<so long as you take some damn typing lessons>>: The actual typing is not too bad, just a couple caps errors, a u, and a missing apostrophe. The double posting and general hyperness is a much worse offense.

Hey, Gside, remember that link you sent me concerning B1FF? I just remembered how amusing it was. Firestorm, I think you had something to say about that as well.
Morgana, or pix, or whatever: You can call yourself whatever you like, so long as you take some damn typing lessons! Oh, was this first "real" friend really real? Or was he/she/it imaginary? Or, by first real friend, do you mean the first friend you didn't have to imagine?

Ok, I'm looking for an online good study for Dante's Divine Comedy and/or a fairly recent movie adaption done of the book. I found a movie version of the book done in 1960, but I'm afraid that the special effects . . well . . the lack of good special effects would not have done justice to the book.

Gside: <Huh, I never would have taken you for an AOLer>
I haven't opened the AOL application in months (prior to yesterday), but I keep it on my desktop because there are times when being an AOLer suits my purposes. Yesterday was just such a time. Like my favorite character from Gargoyles, I am willing to be what the situation requires, in order to achieve a desired outcome. Relax, though. My goals don't involve genocide against the humans. Indeed, such a thing would be counterproductive to me and my hobby (which is cynicism).
Seriously, I don't even know what my goals are yet. Something antisocial, yet passive. I'm working on it. I'll let you know when I've figured out what they are. Hopefully, they involve beer.

Harvester of Eyes-- If it's the pair of Ace of Base videos I'm thinking of that I made back in high school, the other video is "Edge of Heaven," which has an Avalon/World Tour theme.
Say... if anyone out there knows where I could host the videos so that folks can download them again (Agamemnon was hosting them for me a while back), I'd be glad to upload them again.

Garg videos- I have seen several gargs videos. Lain's Demona video to the Alannah Myles song "Bitch" is very good as is Lynati's Pat Benatar "Invincible" I had seen a few years ago two videos to Ace of Base songs, I know they played them at the 2001 con.
Having done video editing for a class, the true art of it is being able to visualize the scenes that would go best with the song. The true dificulty is getting quality material to cut and has for the video. The labor while repeditive and time consuming is not near as frustrating as trying to make a video with poor quality footage.
oh and in other new I quit my job and will start at FedEx Kinko's in November.

On the whole Garg video thing: I know nothing of video editing, but anyone who makes those videos should check out Rhapsody's "Gargoyles - Angels of Darkness." And Symphony X's "Smoke and Mirrors" (I SWEAR the lyrics were inspired by the series) and "The Relic." The Relic could be awesome if we had Time Dancer footage to work with.

Ignore that last post. I'm retarded. I initially tried to download it using AOLMail off of aol.com. Then I opened the actual AOL application and was able to download it.
It's really something. If the credits are any indication, John Robinson threw that together a few weeks after September 11th, 2001. Interesting way to cope. I'm surprised, though. The editing is actually pretty good. Not your average internet fan offering.

DPH's hologram- isn't he listed as thingy-such anyway on the staff page of the website? And I didn't mention what was being done. Heck, I've lost track other than the re-organization of the staff site that lain did before she sneaked off, which isn't public and hardly news-worthy. Also, why are the timedancer season 3 staff still listed as working on season 4? at the very least Sigma and Nabiki, who are utterly gone as far as I can tell, need to be taken on the list. and I'd appreciate being added, being a writer and co-head for it and whatnot. Just tell whoever is in charge of updating such things to add it to the list of minor details that might be attended to at some point in the future...please.
and I think we need to add a FAQ to the "coming soon" page explaining the current plan for TGS and the release of future seasons. Just food for thought.
Dezi: aww, you're makign me blush...#^_^# Well, as long as I'm amusing at least one other person than myself, I can consider it a good day's work. ; )
[Just to be a pain: care to list any openings available?]
No listings per se...we could use more writers for the fics after Season 4 gargs...if you have any interest in that, point me to a sample of your work. And thank you for offering so politely.
...However, the one project we are working on *now* that we could use help with (and that you do not need to be on staff to do) is the re-reading project: re-read the series, refresh yourself on what happened, take notes on interesting plot threads that were forgotten, and possibly propose ideas for what to do about them. Not all- or even most- will be things we will devote fic to, but there are enough large things that were lost track of that wrapping up a few before the Project closes down might be a nice treat for staff and readers alike. It's a bigger thing than it looks, but it's something that needs to be done, and the more people with actual imput on it, the better. (Within reason.)
Hmmm...Are you on an instant messenger system?
[Anticipation is half the enjoyment and all.] *nods* That is a refreshing outlook from the handful of people who have shown up over the years who apparently just used wanting to help as an excuse to find out what the plans were and then vanish on us. : P Thankfully, very few of our "recent" recruits seem to be like that.

Dezi: Thanks for leaving a review! And how'd you know my first name? ;) To answer your question... You see, we're planning to mass purchase the DVD from Amazon on December 7th, 2004 to, hopefully, get the DVD on Amazon's best seller list, which should draw in more buyers. Seeing one hundred or more praises for the show should make them want to purchase the DVD.
And that's our goal: to get as many people to purchase the DVD as possible. Season 2 is NOT coming out on DVD unless Season 1 sells well, and that's why we need the reviews. And who knows, if Season 1 and Season 2 sell well, REALLY well, then the sky's the limit. ;) We're also hoping that if Gargoyles sells well, Disney will release other series on DVD. I don't know about you, but I also want Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin on DVD! :P

Uh, not bitter, just easily annoyed these days.
And if you think that was a rude response, I guess you really haven't ever lurked through here before. That wasn't rude by my standards, let alone by the standards of viciousness this room has witnessed throughout the years.
As for why you think you have to be condescending to me concerning the small role I play on staff...you don't need to. I know just how much accolades I deserve for my work at present, and have a degree I'd like to attain in the future, but this wasn't me jumping up and down and demanding attention. Very little of what I have done for TGS has been posted yet anyhow. I just thought I'd inform you that there was more than just Bishansky who was still dedicated to the project, since your phrasing seemed to suggest that you thought otherwise.
Yes, Christi Smith Hayden's handle is "Spike", and yes, that is her fanfiction you recall. Why are you sorry you mentioned her name? I just said she wasn’t on TGS staff. She’s still both writing fic and doing gargoyles art, among other things.
As for the con- why yes, there is a costume contest. No, not everyone dresses up for it, let alone the entire con. Why you seem to think that this is something to mock, I am not sure.
People have come from Germany, Australia, and Korea to attend the Gathering before. Quite a few of us went up to Montreal for it a few months ago.
And only Pendragon has come out in the last 3 years from TGS? For someone who is good about keeping his facts straight, I’m a little surprised you chose to totally ignore Timedancer Season 4, which came out in 2002.
Incidentally, DPH is working on re-coding parts the site, and some of the changes we intend to implement include making the fact that the series is currently on indefinite hiatus more clear to those who…haven’t seen the site before, or seen it recently.
The rest of your post I'll take under advisement.

To Lynati - Bitter much?
I've never seen such a rude response to what was obviously just a few harmless questions. Yes, it's been a few years since I've been around TGS, and I wanted to know what was going on. Whenever I stopped in to check, it read "Season 4 in progress...coming soon" and it stayed that way for ages. Sorry for never checking the comment room. My fault completly. Still, I finally got around to asking, and Greg, Todd, and Ed were nice enough to answer.
And what I meant was that Greg was the only one left on the staff of him, Ed, and Todd. Of course I know there are other writers out there, but seeing as they're the ones who responded to my initial post, I was merely thanking them. So relax, no one's saying you aren't important. If you need the gratification, then I appreciate your contributions to TGS as well.
And if you're so steamed about me not knowing that there's future episodes of Gargoyles, Timedancer, Dark Ages, and Bad Guys in the works, then perhaps you ought to look into posting some info. Then I woudn't have had to ask. You know, something easy like "Last updated 10/04: Season 4 coming soon." You can hardly blame me for reading the same message for over 3 years? Gargoyles hasn't been updated since April of 2001. Only Pendragon has.
I'm not sure who "Spike" is, but if you're refering to Smith Hayden, then I'm sorry I mentioned her name. It's just that she's always stuck out, because I like her art, and her writing. I think I even read her original Gargoyles fanfic, come to think of it. It was so long ago, I hardly remember. But weren't Brooklyn and Angela paired up in that one? And Spike was a teenage girl or something, from a ranch in Texas, right?
And no, I won't be traveling thousands of miles to Vegas just to discuss fanfiction, which is a hobby of mine at best. I'm not that huge a fan. I'm excited about Season 1 on DVD as much as the next peson, but I doubt I'll be making any reservations to a convention. Please tell me you all don't dress up in costume with wings and horns!
As for my writing and spelling skills, I'm sorry if my quick, unproofread post doesn't meet your criteria. Once again, forgive me for thinking this was a simple chat room, and not a freakin English paper. But alas, if you expect me to proofread and edit my posts, then you'll be sorely dissapointed. My offer to beta was only made in good gesture, because someone made the suggestion that I voulunteer to write. Like I said, I'm not familiar enough with the characters anymore to do that, nor do I have the time. I can look for errors though, and I'm good about keeping facts straight. So I made the harmless offer to beta. Again, ignore it if it offends you. I was only being polite, and trying to get back into TGS; now that I've been informed it's not dead.
And I still don't know what link you're talking about on the front page. I've checked and double checked, and I still don't see a link or email address. So again, forgive me for being a fan, and wanting to know what's going on. I thought that was what this room was for, not to bitch at some newbie for asking some questions.
Next time I suggest being a little less threatening to people who post. If you're a staff member of TGS, then you're doing an awfully bad job of keeping fans. A more sensative person than myself might have left and not come back.

Lucky 7 again. Is it sad that I check this often enough to be able to choose which number I get, yet never post anything worthwhile? Mm.. don't answer that.
