HoE> "If David Xanatos can change, there's hope for everyone."
But Xanatos didn't change. His priorities shifted but his methods haven't. He's learned you've got to give if you want to take. But he's not done taking.
As for Doug, I was someone who thought of him as a friend, for several years. I felt lied to, betrayed, and like an idiot. Nope, I'm not forgiving.

Dezi: My dad doesn't really shoot people. Those lines at the very end of my profile are things that Ralph Wiggum said at one time or another on "The Simpsons." For those not in the know, he's the eight-year old son of Police Chief Clancy Wiggum, and as such, likes to say amusing things. He's a special child, but then, they all are to some degree. ( ;
Regarding this whole business with Doug: I've perused the archives and I still can't say I entirely understand what the situation is or was, so I really have no right to comment on it. But, I'll simply say this: If David Xanatos can change, there's hope for everyone.

Harvester: Read your profile (freakin' bored). Why does your dad shoot people?
My dad does too. He says he goes by the bumper sticker for his job occupation- Join the Army! See strange foreign lands, meet interesting exotic people...AND KILL THEM ALL!
hehe, But, then again, I shoot people too....With a newsvideo camera. Fellow Army brat?

Greg: There was actually one reference to the third season in Part 3 of "Awakening." They were discussing all the minor characters that had become important in later episodes of Gargoyles. Two of these characters were Brendon and Margot. Greg Weisman just mentioned that they started out as incidental characters, but in the third season, we learn that Margot is an assistant DA. But the only reason he referenced that is because it was one of the things he revealed in "The Journey." There were many second season references, though. They talked about a lot of the directions the story eventually took.
So I'll alter my remark to say that they made several references to season two and Greg made one reference to season three.

GUNJACK - [...I was aiming somewhat for Dear Old Lovecraft...]
Yes, I suspected that - especially with the presence of a book of forbidden lore written by a "mad Arab" (as well as the Henquist-Gordon name, with its link back to Lovecraft's friend Bloch). I've incorporated a few minor Lovecraft allusions in TGS stories that I've written (such as the name "Winston Exham" in "Ripper" - here actually a blend of George Orwell with Lovecraft - Bishansky came up with the name Winston and the fear of rats, and I added in the Exham surname when writing the story - since I'd discovered that Christi Smith Hayden had given one of the London clan's hatchlings the name "Winston" and wanted to distinguish the two Winstons from each other).
Of course, the big difference between "Hungry Shadows" and Lovecraft is that most of Lovecraft's horrors are actually indifferent towards humans, and when they wreak havoc upon them, do so in an unconscious manner (as in a person stepping on an ant while out taking a walk without being aware that he'd stepped on it); Demona, on the other hand, is definitely *not* indifferent towards humans. And the human race would be much safer if she was.

re: Doug... I was goingto add this in my last post but wanted to think about it...
Isn;t 3 years a long time to hold a grudge? I know he was a bastard and was making crap up, but he sounded.. I dunno more mature and a fair bit repentant... I mean how much my life has changed in 3 years.. (like getting of the freaking ADHD drugs they had me on[those screwed up my mind majorly thank god that over 2 years off them I am approaching the level of normality that is acceptable... and I can at least remeber what I did yesterday])
But 3 years can CHange people
gside: <<They're vaguely equal, and there are ways to translate. I liked the names because it's easier to tell at a glance where they're from (i.e. mine usually mentions both Eatontown and Jersey).>>
that much I know... But its been so long since I've seen them displayed that way... makes me feel old

Gside><<Making for a total of two sentences now? I have heard rumors.>> Funny, funny man. I'm laughing. Really. ;8 )
...Yeah, I'm slow. Especially when I get bogged down, or caught up argueing strategery. Still working on that.
Todd><<I'd also noticed that as well; "Hungry Shadows" (with some judicious revision on the roles of two particular characters) could easily be set in its own universe as a great "literate horror story".>> ...I was aiming somewhat for Dear Old Lovecraft...
Kathy><<Having said that - I did wonder repeatedly at what point the story was going to have anything to do with TGS. (date and geography hints aside)>>
This is almost completely my fault. When I laid out the episode, it was outlined as a single story. If it had been, the connection to TGS would have been apparent about a third of the way through... Unfortunately, the fic got a whole lot longer, and now the revelations are in the last third, rather than the first. :P ...Oh well. Hopefully it doesn't bug people too much.
To everyone else who gave feedback - THANK YOU! You guys have no idea how encouraging it is to hear that someone actually likes what yer doing...
Green Baron - TGS has foiled my replies, but the story is posted now! I LIVE!
<<As for ethics, they oppose the use of force and advocate exchange of goods and services.>> That's where they have an advantage, being on top already, so of course they're going to favor it. Problem is, their system is largely an artificial construction, and frankly, it serves their own interests better than it does others'. Why should those others cooperate?
<<There is something highly ethical to me about two people exchanging stuff that makes each person's life better.>> When it actually works that way, yes, it's pretty good. Unfortunately, it doesn't usually work that way. FMC's primary principle is maximization of Profit, and in the real world, you almost always make more money by shafting someone than you do by playing nice.
<<Well as a person who has lived under the heel of a mother is a Christian Marxist ideally (yet a practcial conservative thankfully), I have had my fill of altruism and emotion thanks to her, so good riddance to that.>> As it happens, we have a great example to examine this under right now. Take the Tsunami that just tore the heart out of a few countries. According to FMC, what should other nations do in response to this disaster? Charge the victims for their rescue? Jack up prices on water and other essentials? Well, we can't do those, since these people have no money...
So we can either leave those who cannot pay to the mercy of the elements, or, even better, we can assist them, on the condition that they sign themselves into life-long slavery to the persons providing the aid. Surely these are perfectly reasonable options; after all, we cannot be expected to help them out of altruism, and even as slaves, they will be better off then they would be dead, yes? We don't even have to call it slavery; simply make them sign contracts agreeing that they owe, say, a cool million each, and will work in the company factories for fifty cents a day, forty cents of which will be deducted from each paycheck to pay on their bill.
After all, price is determined by demand... if they are dying of thirst, a bottle of water is worth their life, is it not?
<<I'd say that it involves pursuing one's individual desires (whetehr it is to be a Mother Teresa or an Imzadi) as long as you do not take from others by force.>> Unfortunately, the restriction on use of force is artificial and doesn't seem to have much logical basis; WHY shouldn't we use force? What if using force gets us what we want? If the positives for us outwiegh the negatives, why should we refrain?
<<I'd rather buy Vietnamese catfish especially if it is cheaper than the stuff from next door and achieve through commerce what war failed to do.>> The point about markets defining prices is USUALLY true. I certianly don't want a bueracracy determining how much my computer costs... But there are times when profit should NOT be allowed to take the lead.
<<Not if the potential victim had a few gusn of his/her own and showed the chemically enhanced bum what happens when you take by force what is not yours.>> On a national scale, this would be called a revolution... And usually, there's too many cratchitts and too few scrooges to win forever. Again, the system is artificial, and if it benefits a few and screws a whole bunch, why should the bunch play?
Give a well-fed smile to a starving third-worlder and explain that you have a rolex and he has three kids dying of diahrea because you play the game better than he does, and why shouldn't he loot? What does he care for economic theory? If he can survive by looting, and can't survive playing the FMC game, why should he try?
All for me. Peace out, yo.

Dezi - <like DPH has a hologram> Yea, the need for his existance sorta evolved and *poof* he appeared. Currently, he's being worked on by Computron. Until he finishes getting rebuilt from the ground up and/or reprogrammed and/or somehow escapes, he's offline. <), so I went to the main page and tried to go into TD and it wouldn't work either...Neither would Dark Ages or the others as I tested them afterward.> I'll have a long talk with the guy who updated the tgs website pages last. The only thing he admits to doing was 1)downloading existing episode archive pages, 2)adding a link to the ut section, and 3)uploading updated pages to the system.
Tharos - <So does anyone have any big hopes for 2005 (such as season two being released)?> As much as I want to hope for it, I doubt season 2 will be released in 2005. Getting the previous dvd produced took 6 months (correct me if I'm wrong) and the verdict isn't in yet on sales of the current gargoyles dvd release. By, I'd say May, we can know one way or another about another gargoyles dvd release for this year.

Lynati: Site works again. *shrugs* Maybe it didn't like me for a bit. But oh well, all is well again. :D Oh yeah and I figured out your mystery character. I won't post it, though, and spoil the fun for others. ;)
GSide: <Smash> hehe, nope. We're dorks! We just got hooked on that devil's game, Tetris. Played so long, the N64 died at one point, had to be turned off and back on again. It was prolly thinking: Please! Just kill me!
Quick Question: Is Greg an Administrator again? Who are all the Administrators, anyway? Like, I only know when you guys post.
Went out to Walmart earlier, decided to cook some porkchops. Was standing in line for those self-check-outs, and this toothless redneck woman (there are a bunch of those in Indiana) and her little husband were in the line next to mine, all twitchy and impatient. This dude was in line in front of them, waiting for his wife to catch back up with the cart (he had some items, she went back to get a few more I guess). Redneck woman gets tired of standing in that line, thinks the line on the other side of me is going faster, and steps outta line just as a bunch of teenagers step into the "faster" line. So she tries to go back to the other line, but the guys wife had caught up with him by then. Well, Redneck Woman busts a FIT on this guy and his wife, just yelling and whatever. So the teenagers start yelling her and the guy who was trying to defend himself from ther toothless tyrade. Teenagers: Hey no one's going anywhere! Just chill out! You guys are acting like you're 16!! I'm caught in the yelling crossfire, with a total WTF??? look on my face. So toothless Redneck Woman decides to stand at the end of MY LINE cause, you know, I'm so damn fast at scanning my own groceries on a machine that was at the time refusing to read barcodes. (All the other lines in the store were all equally packed btw). So when the thing finally scans, it scans two of my one item. I gotta call the clerk over, and I thought toothless was gonna freak on me!! It was frightening, but, at the same time, reminded me of why I feel that Indiana is the land that God forgot. Really I do. Don't come here you guys, this place is a horrible state, the kind of state we should sell off to some wicked country, to help pay off the national debt. And to tell you the truth, "Hoosiers" wouldn't know a difference. They can barely find the USA on a map in the first place.
That, and when you're coming into Indiana from heaven-on-earth-Illinois, on I-74, there are two signs in Indiana that says that Indianapolis is 76 miles away (one of those signs that says how far different cities are). The thing is, those to signs are about 5 minutes apart, when you're driving at 80 mph. And from there on out, the signs are sooo wrong! I'm thinking that the surveyor was the winner of a prized "Hoosier" education. That's the only explanation I can think of. The signs have been that way for at least 3 years, so I'm also baffled that they haven't done anything to fix it.
God, these people are dumb.
OK Last thing. (I go from posting during top ten to a whole bunch all a sudden...) I've decided to enter MGC for the first time... http://www.deviantart.com/view/13719235/ I posted it on here first, in case any of you guys (or anyone else) would like to drop me some feedback first. *shrugs* Here goes, I guess.... :D

I just watched "The Awakening" with audio commentary by Greg, Frank, and Keith. It never even occured to me that there was that connection between Gargoyles and Gummi Bears, especially since I never really got into Gummi Bears. I was more of a DuckTales fan. I also never made the connection that from a 10th Century standpoint, Goliath asking the Magus to cast his spell one more time was like committing suicide. But then, the Grimorum was written back before modern science really became widespread. It would have been nice to hear who auditioned for Goliath before Keith David. Greg seemed to mention that "hundreds of actors" auditioned for both Goliath and Elisa. I also agree with Mooncat in that all three of them seemed to have this crush on Salli Richardson (check the archives from two weeks ago). I was also glad they made that comment on Hudson's sword. I always wondered why he didn't have it in the first episode. Now I need to watch Part 2 again.
I also noticed that the three of them (or at least Greg and Frank) referenced the second and third seasons quite a bit. I like to think they were being optimistic about future releases. Which reminds me, I still have to write my letter to Disney/Buena Vista.
It's too bad they weren't able to do more. But perhaps on future volumes of Gargoyles, Greg and company could talk a little more. *crosses fingers*.

Well Happy New Year everyone!
Went to a party last nite, held by a director at work. Basically a bunch of 20-somethings, most of us at least a few years outta college (well, or me- two weeks outta college) and a lot of people got REALLY wasted, and a bunch of us got woefully addicted to Tetris on N64. It was... Sad. Specially when you loose to a guy that is so drunk, he'll tell you he's *this drunk* and then start talking nonsense to his best friend about when they first met. He was DRUNK. and yet, damn good at Tetris. I think the world hates me. *shrugs* oh well. Then someone brought their nine-year-old daughter, and she was pretty cool, sat there and played Tetris with the sane of us, and made a "drunk friend" (that guy). So her mom is walking around wondering who her daughter's drunk friend is. The best part was when the girl started picking on the drunk guy, like the rest of us were. It was really funny. The image of the nite: The girl toasted her sugar cookie with sprinkles against the drunk guy's (mostly gone) bottle of whiskey. Don't worry, don't worry. The girl was never in danger, most of the people there knew each other already, and the guy was an amicable drunk. Plus, us sober people (me and a few others) were looking out for her just in case. But it was still kinda funny. She's gonna have some fun stuff to tell the play ground about, no doubt.
Then we played Chinese checkers, while a bunch of people sang a god-awful rendition of the Bohemian Rhapsody, and other people danced around to Barbie Girl. :P
And I think Dottie had a party here. Prolly invited the Lab upstairs. In any case, the TV was on a different channel than when I had left, and there was trash all over from the garbage can. Wonderful.

Well, I was going to vent my frustrations on having to come up from North Carolina early because my manager couldn't give me New Year's Eve or New Year's Day off, because New Year's Eve is supposedly one of our busiest days. But I guess after reading Doug's post, I've got no right to be upset about anything. Thank you for reminding me why I don't watch the news, Doug.
Still, I wish I could be partying right now. But I left my clan down at Emerald Isle, North Carolina, to come up here and work today and tomorrow. The bitch of it is, business was incredibly slow today. I made less money than I do on an average Friday (an average Friday being a Friday that is not New Year's Eve). The manager sent half the evening staff home early. So right now, I don't care if the owner of the restaurant is dying of cancer, I still want to punch him. Well, I guess I vented anyway. My apologies. Looks like the whiskey is starting to take effect.
Anyway, 2005 might get better, but I'm an experienced optimist and I look at hope as a form of heroin for the soul. So my philosophy is "whatever happens, happens." But hey, at the risk of betraying my nature, I'll say that at least I was wrong about the Apocalypse. But then, I don't believe in Armageddon so I wasn't taking myself seriously anyway, and I hope no one else here was either.
MOVIE-WISE:
I too am anticipating great things about the Batman movie. The little facts I've been reading at imdb.com have me salivating like a classically conditioned hound. If anyone can bring back the darkness we've come to expect from the world's greatest non-superhero (and I use this term with admiration), I have faith in Chris Nolan.
I also happen to like "Masters of the Universe," but I saw it when I was a kid, so I guess it follows the same rule as "The Goonies" or "Labyrinth": you have to see it as a kid or you won't ever like it. Frankly, after seeing "Windtalkers," I don't think John Woo should be allowed to direct anything. Besides, He-Man doesn't seem like his type of movie. None of the characters will be able to do the signature sideways leap with the dual pistols, unless Woo comes up with an Eternian whose weapon of choice is twin Berettas. But hey. Maybe Woo will find a way to sneak some doves in as well. He turned the sequel to "Mission: Impossible" into a joke, so anything's possible (no pun intended). I'll take Woo's Hong Kong films any day of the week.
Despite the fact that I hated the other two chapters of the Prequel Travesty, as I like to call it, I am looking forward to Episode III, only because George Lucas has no plans to make another movie. I guess after that we'll have to just sit and wait for the DVD Box Set of all six movies, containing even more revisionist bullshit that George forgot to put in the first time. Although, I didn't completely hate Episode II. It was worth paying the inflated movie theater price to see that fuckin' wannabe, Jango Fett, get killed. Ah well. Since it takes George Lucas three years to make each movie, that's ancient history now. I won't start criticizing all the shortcomings of the prequel travesty right now, because it's a fresh new year, and far be it from me to bring anyone else down.
Well, I'm gonna go drink some more. So let me close by saying that Isaac Asimov would be 85 tomorrow if he were still alive. Rock and roll.

Kathy: [Having said that - I did wonder repeatedly at what point the story was going to have anything to do with TGS.]
Patrick: [Though I will say that I, too, got a little anxious about halfway through, waiting for it to make a connection to the TGS ficverse.] Sooo….no one out there noticed that there was another TGS character around during the auction scene and referenced just after by name? (At least, by previously-established several seasons ago.)

Doug- You are not wanted in this CR. You lied to everyone in the room for years and betrayed everyone's trust, and a variety of other things. To date you have yet to admit that the entire "Kit" thing was a lie in public. As a person who singlehandedly made the entire CR unbalanced and cease trusting anyone for a long time, you have a lot to answer for. THose of us that remember you don't want to see you, and I'm dissapointed to see that we have yet to ban all your IP adresses. Please, don't come back, no one here wants to talk to you, those that do can contact you via AIM.
ANy newbies in here that don't know who Doug is or what he's done, check the back archives looking for messages from both "Doug" and "Kitainia", and eventually there's a fun little culmination. Just don't respond to him and encourage him.

It has been a sad year for many. The war in Iraq has taken many lives and endangered countless others, including two men who taught me a lot about law enforcement and doing right. Terrorism around the world has taken many more lives, especially in Spain (remember the March train disasters?) and Russia. Its death toll has only been surpassed by the recent tsunamis in Asia (correct me if I'm wrong, the media makes it seem that way), which really sadden me. I was also quite annoyed this year by Hurricane Ivan and what it did to oil and tomato prices. I was even more annoyed by all the political hooey. I will greatly miss Marlon Brando, Fay Wray, Jerry Orbach, Francis Crick, Christopher Reeve, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Ray Charles, Dimebag Darrell, Arthur Hailey, Bob Keeshan, Julia Child, Alistair Cooke, Ernest Borgnine, Reggie White, Jack Parr, John "JJ" Jackson, ODB, Tony Randall, Elmer Bernstein; Austin Police Officers Shauna Jacobson, Kurt Jacobson, Amy Donovan, and Trina Andretti; and all the other people who were somebody who died this year- especially Delia Speed, my grandmother.
The year had some good things too. The election finally ended. Bush won (yes, I know, that's good news for some and bad news for others). In sports, many people won Olympic medals, including my hometown heroine Cat Osterman. The Red Sox finally broke their age-old curse and won the World Series, while the Houston Astros came close to entering that series and gave us fans a season we will never forget. Ricky Williams also stopped playing football. On a personal note, in March I graduated Salutatorian of my class from Texas's top-rated law enforcement academy. I also made peace with my estranged father, welcomed a new baby nephew into the world, and somehow managed to stand up to and win an argument with my amazingly obstinate grandfather twice (don't ask me how I did it, I'm still having trouble believing I even did it once). My sister graduated from college, and my stepfather built a successful European food distribution consortium. In video games, we got such great hits as Metal Gear Solid 3, Half-Life 2, World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, X-Men Legends, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (to which I am currently addicted). In movies, we got to see such wonderful films as Spiderman 2, Collateral, The Incredibles, and Finding Neverland. In music, we got a new U2 album and many other great pieces of work. In TV we saw the end of Friends (which was never good IMO) and got to enjoy fondly shows like Angel, Futu-rama, and Tru Calling (these shows will be missed. Dern WB and Fox to heck for cancelling them). In DVD releases, we saw the Best of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (at which I am still laughing), many great movies, special editions of many Disney films, and, oh yeah, the first season of Gargoyles.
Tonight it is the first day of 2005 and I for one am going to spend it partying happily amidst crowds and chaos. I am happy because things have to get better. They certainly look like they might. Gas prices are falling. An outpouring of compassion and sympathy is occurring around the world in the wake of the tsunamis. In video games, I am anticipating playing Mercenaries, Dead to Rights 2, Hulk 2, Fear & Respect, and Duke Nukem Forever (which my sources say is close to completion- I pray they are right). In TV and movies, I anticipate Batman Begins and more episodes of the new Batman show on WB Saturday Mornings (except for what they did with Freeze, I like it). I also am looking forward to Jennifer "The Goddess That Is" Garner in Elektra and a new season of Alias <starts drooling uncontrollably until someone smacks him>. Uh, right. There is also Star Wars Episode III, the unfinished Kurosawa film, and I recently read that John Woo is making a He-Man movie. If there is one man who can undo the grand mistake that was Masters of the Universe...
Hopefully, the year will go well for the war on terrorism. And for all our friends and loved ones. I know that I am going to try to use it to rekindle the old friendships I once had with the people in this room. These friendships ended badly a few years ago, in scandals I do not in a million years wish to rehash, let alone repeat. Suffice to say I hope they are long over, and the good relationships I had with everyone in here can be rebuilt succesfully. Y'all should be able to figure out who I am by now. If not, scroll back quite a ways in the archives. I apologize for all the madness you will find. <sighs> I hope we can all get past it. For now, I will wait to see what responses to this post come before saying any more.
Everyone- Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year of the Rooster!

I agree with Revel on this one. The Sox won the series, a tsunami killed 50,000 people on Christmas Day, and Dick Clark won't be at Times Square tonight. If we're still here after the stroke of midnight, I'll be surprised. Although, if memory serves, midnight has already arrived on the other side of the world, or it will very shortly. So seeing as how it's midnight somewhere, probably Moscow, and we're still here, I think we're fine. But still, I never thought I'd live to see a New Year's Eve with no Dick Clark.
I just watched some of the bonus stuff on my DVD. The Gathering retrospective was interesting. I'm still new to the fandom, so I don't know who was who. Was there anyone from the CR that contributed comments? For me, the highlight was hearing Keith David do his Goliath voice without the benefit of any sound equipment. I never knew that they never added reverb or any other audio sweetening effects to his voice. The commentary for "Awakening" should prove interesting.
The sales pitch reminded me of a time capsule. I like how it was introduced by the present-day Greg Weisman, and then the pitch footage starts rolling, and we see a younger version of him from 1993. I wonder how old he was when he conceived Gargoyles. He looked pretty young.
So, Elisa's last name was originally Chavez. And Hudson originally looked like the Gargoyle equivalent of Droopy. Good thing the animation studio made both him and Bronx look cooler.

Mecord: That was funny. Thanks.
Speaking of the DVD, I just watched "Thrill of the Hunt" and "Temptation." Last time I saw the former was a few years ago, on a friend's VHS. It was good to see Dingo blow the head off the statue again. I guess Toon Disney has an issue with gun violence, even if it is against inanimate objects. I think "Temptation" might be my favorite episode from the first season. From an animation standpoint, the characters look great. I don't know who picked up the torch for the Goliath Chronicles animation-wise, but he was no Roy Sato (unless it was Sato, and he was told to make the characters look shitty). Anyhoo, his Demona kicks ass. I love the rage lines on her face when she grabs Brooklyn by the shoulder and screams at him, but I always wondered why her eyes weren't glowing. She looked pissed enough. Does anyone know if Greg's Station 8 website has an English translation of the spell Demona used?

Hey, does anyone have a screenshot from "Hunter's Moon" Part One of Demona's war room.
Right before the end of Act 2, Demona dismisses Robyn after hiring her and takes the thug into her hidden war room, and for a brief moment we get a good look at most of the room.
I need a screenshot of that for a TGS story I'm working on.
Will greatly appreciate it :)

Hahaha, you pretty much nailed that point. It's really true, though, about academic composers. The chair of music tech and guitar at my school made this long-awaited composition for wind symphony and solo guitar. My guitar teacher was the soloist, so I went to see it, and I thought was terrible. All the musicians who actually played in it agreed with me, as did everyone else who heard it. Gunjack > re: episode length - First let me say that I thought the story was very well written, flowed well, established the new characters in believable form etc.
Having said that - I did wonder repeatedly at what point the story was going to have anything to do with TGS. (date and geography hints aside)
Honestly, it was a situation of wondering why you were bothering to write fanfiction because the canon characters could have been replaced by additional original characters and the story would have been just as good. (That was a compliment, btw)
So to answer your question - yeah, length is important especially when the focus is off the characters and situations that one is ostensibly waiting to read about.

Random question to all the people who've read Hungry Shadows part one... How objectionable was the length? I'm rather curious about this, because after we posted it, I sat down and read the whole thing through... and it might have been that it was past 1am, and I hadn't had a good night's sleep in a week, but I was falling asleep during my own episode.
How important is episode length to you guys? Should we keep em at 30 pages, or is longer okay? Anyone want them SHORTER than thirty?

Actually, your teacher's composition sounds like it could be a cool percussive piece. But music that is just silence or lasts hundreds of years is just gimmicky.

Okay, THIRD attempt at posting - hate my Internet. But I've been away for far too long.
So I stayed up way late last night reading the new story. Awesome! Thanks so much to the writers who put in all the work to give us these great stories - it's really appreciated. I think the next TGS season will really give the fandom a much-needed jump start.
I shouldn't have been up late though ('twas worth it), since I had to go buy CDs today. I grabbed Deep Purple's "Machine Head" (very significant, and very awesome... it's the reason for my purple font right now). Led Zep's "Houses of the Holy" (indescribable - 2 more and I have the whole collection). Chamber Metal: Neoclassical Guitar, decent compilation.
And the reason I mentioned this - Harvester, you might really like Blind Guardian. I got "A Night at the Opera;" it's very epic, the only thing that beats it in that department is Rhapsody, IMO. But it's really fantasy-oriented (they have a Lord of the Rings concept album, too).
Speaking of music, talk about pretentious: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=179644 (Thought I'd post a link to save space - I'm the guy down a few replies who's saying "GOD I hate modern music.")
Okay, I'm off to go record some tunes - maybe I'll have some samples for you guys - for a few years I've thought that I should take a few months and compose a wicked theme for TGS or TD.

Spacebabie> <<Have some emrgency pants fellow sluggite>>: And why would I actually be wanting pants?

I went to Target to buy the DVD and they didn't have any copies of it in stock. so I'm going to call Walmart and see if they have any copies of it in stock. One thing's for sure, sooner or later, I'll get a copy of the DVD.

Twelve is my lucky number. Or it would be if I were superstitious.
Well, I just learned that my teenage cousin has taken an interest in "Gargoyles." At some point shortly after we get back to Virginia, I'm bringing my DVD over to his house and we'll have ourselves a marathon. At least, I hope so. That would require him to pull himself away from networking at Halo 2 for a few hours. I can't believe he brought his XBox and the networking cables down to the beach. The weather today was cold, but gorgeous, and he spent most of it in the computer room, which is smaller than the Unabomber's shack. And poorly ventilated.
