Gunjack> <<I thought about announcing that Bad Guys was hereby canceled, but decided I didn't need the headaches>>: Your life is too much of a soap opera for us to not consider it.
<<I miss the debates>>: Debates become flame wars, unless they're about inane perverted things. So any thoughts about the classic duality: Catholic vs. Japanese schoolgirls?
<<nero is good times. Fast, accurate, and efficient>>: This is the braindead free version that came with the drive. The first disc I did, it said verification failed, I tried palying it and my system crashed, but after I reset and didn't have nero running, it played fine. I picked up th freeware Deep Burner. No complaints about it yet.

HoE><<If anyone did take it seriously, I feel sorry for that person.>> I thought about announcing that Bad Guys was hereby canceled, but decided I didn't need the headaches... :P

Spen><<by the way, is there a date set fot Hungry Shadows Part 3?>> We were shooting for Easter, but then several things (writer's block, illness, taxes, theft, the usual) stepped in. It will be done soon, I swear. Dear god, just let the thing END. I mean, this thing was supposed to be done by CHRISTMAS!? *Bangs head on desk*

<<And, what are the chances that when part 3 comes out you'll say that it was still to long, and you will have to make it into a four parter? I didn't just give you an idea did I?>> There will not be a Hungry Shadows part 4. I will not allow that to happen. Rocks will fall and everyone will die if I even have to THINK about writing another "To Be Continued".

Really, no, this one will be it. We've got most of it done, and we're actually converging on the End.

<<I know you have, but it was the longest post last week (except for Lynati's).>> Heh. I miss the debates...

Gside><<And here I am with a new CD burner (and CPU fan). The old version of EZCD creator was good to me; not sure if I like Nero (LG says I'd need the newest version of EZCD).>> Probably too late, but nero is good times. Fast, accurate, and efficient.

Spent yesterday afternoon combing the area around Lain's work for any sign of her purse. The Wallet was found a block away (minus the bus pass), but the purse is still AWOL. Very tired now.

I'm going to see my first new pope. Should be interesting. And is anyone taking any bets on when the Baron will come in to say something about it?

HoE> <<And just how DOES one play a DVD backwards?>>: I'm sure you can write up a program to read teh bytes backwards. Of would it be bits? Or read the bytes in order, but each backwards? Anyway, that reminds me of one of my pet theories: Paul will outlive the rest just to spite them for that rumor.

Jacob> Best of luck, and here's hoping it's a bad joke you can hurt someone for.

Lynati> <<oi, Jacob, you feeling alright?>>

No, actually. Had the crappiest April Fool's day ever.
My wallet and the contents of my bag were stolen from the back room of my work by someone between 10 and 11:30 this morning. All the ID, health card, my home keys and a pay stub with my address on it, my work keys including the ones to the store itself AND the one for the safe, my bus pass that I *JUST BOUGHT YESTERDAY* and have absolutely no money to replace (and they just upped the fine to around 200$ for "fare dodging"), along with some other personal things, are now all gone.
So, in short, my pathetic little 120 dollars that I had scrimped to try and save as the beginning of my Gathering fund is now *poof* (and then some) in order to get new ID and a bus pass, which I won't be able to buy until they send me a new bank card - so I hope the skycops don't check my fare until then, because if they do, I'll be REALLY screwed.

The best part is... when they mail me all my stuff back, I can't get into my mailbox because they stole THAT key, too - so I won't be able to get my locks changed because I have no money, but when access to my piddly money arrives, I won't be able to GET it because el landladyo isn't going to change my locks and give me new keys until I pay up.

This was the ONE day I decided to leave my stuff in the break room instead of taking it up with me. The ONE DAY I have EVER left it there. I am not kidding.

I've called and cancelled my cards and everything, made a report, done all the stuff I'm supposed to do, blah blah. My day still sucked though. It's like... things just can't go right for me. It seems to be against the laws of nature, or something...

Okay, let's review: A) I posted my announcement on April 1st. B) If you actually examine the content of the post, I hope you'll notice that it's just too ridiculous to be true. I was hoping that it would sound ludicrous enough that no one would take it seriously (I mean, Satanic Beatles references in "The Passion"? And just how DOES one play a DVD backwards?). If anyone did take it seriously, I feel sorry for that person.

Oh, there is one small grain of truth in my post: it IS scientific fact that a Jehovah's Witness bite contains enough venom to kill six bull elephants. A mackerel that I survived, eh?

*TELEPORTS IN ACCOMPANIED BY THE SMELL OF BRIMSTONE*

Just dropping in to give everyone an important announcement. Today, I've decided to join the Church of Satan. It's a long story, but after considering everything, I think I'm making the right choice.

-First off, at the start of this past new year, I had myself
psychoanalyzed, just for the hell of it. I found out that when I was four, I got bitten by a Jehovah's Witness. We were in the wild, miles from any hospital, and Jehovah's Witnesses, as any biologist will tell you, have a poisonous bite. As a result, the wound festered, and I very nearly died. I lay in a fever for about a month, it's a miracle
they didn't have to amputate most of my lower body, and the doctor thinks this is why my metabolism is the way it is. Anyway, the analyst told me that this event is the reason for my fear of commitment. I laughed in his face and called him a quack. Or so I thought...

-Flash forward to this past Valentine's Day. I'm having a beer, and watching the Lord of the Rings. In particular, the scene where Gandalf escapes from Saruman. Right before he leaps from the roof of Isengard onto the back of the eagle, Gandalf says, "There is only one Lord of the Ring, and he does not share power!" This got me thinking. What if
Saruman was Lucifer and Sauron was God (or vice versa, whichever makes more sense), and Lucifer had only wanted joint power WITH God? Sauron could have let Saruman have the ring on odd days of the week (or evens. They could flip a coin). After all, sharing is caring. Maybe God, or Sauron, or both of them overreacted. I thought I was reading
too deeply into the movie, until just last week.

-I'm in the mall a week ago, and I come across a guy who's passing out flyers for the local chapter of the Church of Satan (his name's Chuck, by the way, but everyone calls him Neidermeyer, because he looks like "Animal House" actor Mark Metcalf). I asked him why he joined, and he said it was because "The Devil's Advocate" was his favorite movie, and he was upset because Al Pacino wasn't even nominated for an Oscar that year. Well, this convinced me. I like that movie too. It's not my favorite, but I like it. And I think Al Pacino should have won an Oscar. Plus, Neidermeyer also told me that if you run Mel Gibson's "The Passion" backwards, you hear the message "John, Paul, George, and
Ringo are Satan" repeated over and over. Now I've really got to see that movie.

So long story short, because of all the reasons listed above, I'm becoming a Satanist. I still have to give my first blood sacrifice, so it's not official yet, but we can't even set a date for the blood sacrifice until I get my Satanism decoder ring in the mail (they get decoder rings. How cool is that?!). Plus, both Neidermeyer's printer
and his Broadband Internet Access are screwed up, so he can't even send out invites to the other Satanists. But anyhoo, this is a big step for me, so I thought you should all know. I'm excited.

Although, Reno, perhaps we could move this debate into the CR and get some more feedback from fellow gargoyles fans. I won't tell them what the debate was about. I'll leave that up to you.

Spike: That song you linked up was pretty cool.

What did everyone else think of it? The 7/8 to 4/4 time switch made it really hard to get into at first, but once I figured it out, I liked it. But I really think if I wasn't a musician, there's no way in hell I could nod my head to it. Not too big on the super-vibrato guitar in the background. Overall it was a cool, catchy song.

Sorry I took so long in making responses, I've just been really busy lately.

Harvester of Eyes : "Actually, people have posted reviews for the latest "Hungry Shadows" installment. Most of them were posted the week after the story came out. The archives just haven't been updated yet." I've been lurking long enough that I don't need to look at the archives for that week it just all dependes on what you count as a review, I personally consider a review to be more than just a one line comment kind of like what Graymonk used to do for Pendragon season four: a fairly in depth review and a rating of the episode on a 1-10 (Or 1-5) rating.
As to your pic and color comment refer to Lynati's post.

Lain : Glad you weren't offended, by the way, is there a date set fot Hungry Shadows Part 3? And, what are the chances that when part 3 comes out you'll say that it was still to long, and you will have to make it into a four parter? I didn't just give you an idea did I?

Gside : "Posting style counts for more than image or color."
See Lynati's post. Thank you for the info on DC by the way.
"I've seen longer." I know you have, but it was the longest post last week (except for Lynati's).

Lynati : " did they way the text was layed out affect the creepiness level of the Bone Eaters as well as their action and dialogue? Or did you find that had less of an impact?"
The text definatly had an effect on the Bone Eaters creepiness (I know that for fact because I have all the episodes saved on Microsoft works and they are much less scary than in the actual episode).

Well, that's enough for now, Bye.

Spike: I thought the old design looked all right. Of course, I'd say each design has its strong points.

Oh, by the way, I've been looking over the voice talent for Gargoyles on imdb.com. I'd say Brigitte Bako (the voice of Angela) has had an interesting career. A lot of straight-to-video stuff by the looks of it, if you catch my meaning. She did have an interesting mainstream role, though. I've seen "Strange Days" a few times, and never knew that she was Iris, the ill-fated prostitute. Hopefully, if we see more episodes of Gargoyles on DVD, some with more commentary from Greg, we'll hear just how she came to their attention.

For my MGC: Celtic Gargs entry, I decided to give Brianna, the Caledonian mate of Griff from TGS: Pendragon, a makeover. I don't know if it's Celtic enough to be voted on but I think she came out kinda nice.

But would a gargoyle more willing to live in peace with humans than Demona been as likely to have experienced what she had? A lot of Demona's experiences (including her becoming immortal) were the consequences of her earlier actions against humans. If she hadn't helped betray the castle, she wouldn't have wound up becoming a homeless wanderer, stealing food to survive (and wouldn't have had that encounter with the young Gillecomgain where she scarred his face and became the catalyst for his becoming the Hunter). Also, without the sack of Castle Wyvern, Princess Katharine and the eggs wouldn't have fled to Avalon, meaning that the Weird Sisters would have stayed on guard duty there for the next thousand years and wouldn't have had the incentive (in their own quest for revenge) to meddle in Demona and Macbeth's lives and make them immortal.

Todd: I was well aware of Demona exhibiting what Father Sigmund referred to as projection. I was merely saying just how easy it is for her to project the evil that she's committed onto her species, when she's seen just about everything it is possible for humans to do to each other, such as the Inquisition, the Reign of Terror, and the Holocaust (and that's barely scratching the surface).

Dezi: Well, hopefully, you have the DVD, which offers thse two episodes, plus the other eleven episodes of Season One for less than the cost of your average two-disc set.

Rodlox: <Hrmmm...that would be an interesting story: had it been any of the other series gargs that'd been immortal for the last thousand years, instead of Demona. hard-hearted Goliath vs open-minded (if wary) Demona?> I think Greg Weisman might have touched upon that in the commentary for "Awakening."
