It seems like all the stories about trying to do something about the situation all trace their roots back to actions taken in 1997/1998.

It feels godo to get a good night's sleep 2 days in a row. Now, to try for 3 nights in a row.

CR death> It also doesn't help that there hasn't been a series story in like... forever. There Hunter story was a nice diversion, but its the series story that gets people talking.

I suspect that what's more likely to have killed the room is that it's getting so close to the end of the week that people are nervous about posting here. Although it probably doesn't help much when the subjects of posts are ones that don't encourage responses.

By the way, instead of using the Grimorum, you might want to try the Necromoncion.

**College craziness**
Another round of stupidity. I'm required to use campus email system to send email assignments in. Unfortunately, yesterday, when I 1st got around to using the darn campus email, it was already full of spam and I had to resort to using the campus computer help desk to clean that email account out because it was full. Bare in my mind, I hadn't posted that email address anywhere because I hadn't used it, yet, it was full of spam. Today, more spam arrived. I'm tempted to take it up with campus computer help and politely ask for my email address there to be slightly altered so that it can get a fresh start without spam since I'm supposed to use it thsi semester. That also brings up an interesting point from a system administrator's pov. I'm not the only one who hasn't used the campus email address; I'm willing to bet at least 1/2 the campus email accounts are full due to spam because the students haven't checked it. Simple solution: Once a month, do a query on student email accounts; any email accounts that have not been logged in in the past 6 months and are overfull are automatically cleaned out and shut down from activation until said student comes to the help desk to get campus activated. Leave a single email in the account saying this account will not work until you visit computer help desk. In the meantime, do something about establishing a better spam filter.
**End college craziness**

Took my 1st test this semester today at 8am. I hope I did well on it. Group assignments sucik if you can't get the group together to physically meet, especially if every week a group homework assignment is due. Trust? Right now, I don't trust members of my own group too well. It's going to take time to build the trust needed so that I can feel safe relying on other members of my group.

Have I mentioned that I've had only *1* successfull group project done the whole time I'm in college? Basically things turned out right because enough people had extra incentative to get a good grade in class.

I'm not sure where my Russian dictionary is or I'd look it up, but the Rustrans words for "hunter" sound something like: Ohodnik, Iskatyel, Guntyer, Ohotnitchya sovaka, karmanye chassi s crishkoi. But I expect my anglicisation of these words is off. I haven't read cyrillic in years.

Talweaver: Maybe I'm using that site incorrectly, but it looks like it's translating everything into Russian (including Russian letters). I experimented with it, using Gside's little sign-off, and couldn't seem to get anything except the phrase in Russian letters. And I hit the INTO ENGLISH button.

*for unknown reasons the theme song to "Mission Impossible" starts playing in the cr*

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find creative ways to push students, on the brink of failure, to fail. Please note that abusing your power of said students is **not** optional, but a requirement of this mission. Good luck.

**the theme song to Mission Impossible stops playing moments after a loud explosion is heard.**

Have I mentioned that I hate taking 8am classes? Even more so, since taking that damn class was forced upon me.

Note to self: upon starting a scholarship fund, make the requirements of receiving aid from said fund include not taking any classes before 9am.

Todd - good job so far on the reviews.

hoe - who needs copies of the original grimorium? Why not travel back in time to mass produce copies of the completed real thing?

Why are so many things in America divided over racial lines? When can we start moving onward? Response time in Lousiana had squat to do with race.

*enters scratching at many boils that cover his arms and neck*

Todd: Don't sweat it too much. In the course of chatting with Bishansky a few weeks ago, I noticed that I made an error in my amazon.com review of Season One, when I called the gargoyles "creatures." It's more of a semantic issue, but I'd still prefer not to use a term like "creature" to describe them. Anyway, that eluded me for almost a whole year.

Okay, I'm willing to admit that I might have erred. I just got back from the video store and found that one of my all-time favorite movies, Kurasawa's "The Seven Samurai," no longer exists. While on the plus side this means that that formulaic western Hollywood remake has been erased, it also means that the Clash song "Magnificent Seven" does not exist as well. So now I've got to find some way to bring that diseased maniac back to life. The immortal Drama Queen still has the Grimorum, I think, and I'd rather avoid tracking her down. She thinks I'm dead and I want to keep it that way a little longer. HBO seems to be showing "Beetlejuice" a lot right now. For starters, I'll watch that and see if I can't get some pointers. Assuming that pale-faced asshole on the white horse didn't pull the cable up when he was rampaging in the yard with all those Hellspawn earlier today. But if my internet's running, chances are the cable is too.

Oh, and just because I might have forever altered our existence, I still think the DVD of Gargoyles, Season Two Volume One is coming out on December 6th (for now, six has nothing to fear). I noticed a few more reviews on Amazon, so it's picking up, but we're still a long way off. Keep bugging your friends, and I'll keep bugging mine.

*shoots a stray imp in both eyes as he leaves to check his signal*

Lady Mystic : "lease let me know which version of the archive (original, framed or consolidated) you prefer." I personolly prefer the original version, but it hardly matters since I rarely use the archives these days. (At least, not the one on the site.)

By the way, while browsing through my saved copies of the CR archives, I noticed that the week of 12-20 - 12-26-1999 is incomplete. The first post is from 12-23-1999.

DPH : "I caught a typo in Todd's Review" Hey, that's my job! :)

Guandalug : I noticed a couple of more errors on the site. First off, in the synopses for "Awakening Part I", the castle is misidentified as being in Ussex.

The other error is so minor you might not even care about getting it fixed. In the synopses for "Awakening Part II", there is a line that says "Hudson asks what he is talking about, and where is the Princess." Technichly, Hudson only asked the "where is the princess" question, while Lex asks "What is he talking about".

Greetings all...

Is Gside around? I need someone with a working knowledge of the Russian language... I'm trying to find the russian word for either hunter, stalker or something equivalent (preferably the word as it would be spelled in English, not in actual Russian).

Gside -- or whomever can help out -- please email me with the needed word, please?

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled chaos...

Thank you to everyone that wished me a happy birthday! : ) As birthdays went, it wasn't the most spectactular; I went to bed at 2pm and slept until 2:30 am, so I was asleep for most of it...

Hee, Robby forgot his posting color. And I think the top ten rule faded out around the time the CR stopped moving at least 2 posts every hour- that, or the first time top ten took over 16 hours to complete. There's been a day or two that it was the only movement in here. : (

Guandalug la'Fay - I caught a typo in Todd's Review of CoS p1. <Macbeth almost shares his father's fate, but is rescued by Demona, of all people, who has been drawn to Castle Moray by the Weird Sisters' words (she rejects - for the moment - their urging him to ally with Macbeth, but is ready to go once she learns that the Hunter will be there).> it should be "their urging her to ally with Macbeth".

First of all, Happy Birthday to Lynati! Don't do anything I wouldn't do. Or would do, for that matter. In fact, don't think about me at all. That would be safer for all concerned. ( ;

DPH: The way I had heard the joke, it was "Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 8 9." Maybe there are variations. Wouldn't surprise me.

Todd: Nonlethal. Nooooooon-leeee-thal. What a fascinating word. Nonlethalnonlethalnonlethal. It just rolls right off the tongue like butter. Seriously, I thought about it. But every time I close my eyes, I see 7 tying down 9 and devouring him raw from the feet up. Most of the time 9 was lucky. He passed out from the pain quite a bit, but when he was conscious, 7 would not stop singing "MacArthur Park" as he ate. And he'd usually shout the chorus into 9's ear to revive him again, and then keep....uggggh. It is gonna take quite a bit of drink to wash this one from my mind.

My only regret is that I might have erased David Fincher's movie from existence. And Dr. Lao might not be around any more (or if he is, he'll never have the same number of faces again). I can think of at least one song I might have altered, the early Genesis classic "Seven Stones," but I'm sure there are others I like that I might never hear again. But other than that, no. I can't say I regret my decision too much.

*Pours himself a beer and casts a glance skyward. Notices the moon changing color right before his eyes and what appears to be a swarm of locusts drawing towards him.*

Naaah, that's just a coincidence.

HARVESTER - I still think that you should have used non-lethal force against that 7 (such as a tranquilizer). Now that you've killed it, what is going to become of mathematics? Will we have to jump from 6 to 8 when counting? What will that do to all of our mathematical equations necessary for engineering? And what will happen to all those lists of seven (the Seven Deadly Sins, the Seven Wonders of the World, seven days in the week, etc.)? I hope that you haven't brought about a terrible catastrophe upon our heads.
