Brief Biographies of known members of the Scottish Clan

The Scottish Clan is a small clan; however this is still only a listing of members of the Scottish clan who have appeared in a story.

Curran

Curran's 1st mate was killed 20-30 years ago.   They had one child, Tori.   Curran eventually was persuaded to take Jamie as a mate when the mating season came around again.   He's fond of her, but being much older, sometimes has trouble showing his affection for her.   Curran is injured in the Unseelie War and never regains his ability to fly; instead he turns his woodscraft skills to training the four gargoyle beasts (formerly the bargbeasts of Yorkshire) brought by the London clan.   He and Jamie have had their first child together, Fergus, a rare male hatchling.

Jamie

Jamie was the sole unattached female when Curran's mate died and took Curran as a mate.   Jamie is very quiet and patient; a good hunter in more ways than one.   She and Curran have had their first child together, Fergus, a rare male hatchling.

Kylie

Kylie is both Clan Leader and eldest of the Caledonian Clan.   The hard winter has been difficult on her.   Delegate to the Gargoyle World Council

Quade

second-in-command.   a large granite-skinned gargoyle who speaks seldom but is always thinking. He and his mate, Rachel, are the oldest mated pair.   Quade and Rachel have a female hatchling, Meara.

Rachel

Rachel has a very curious mind and likes to find things out.   Rachel and Quade are the oldest mated pair.   Quade and Rachel have a female hatchling, Meara.

Kirstie

delegate to the Gargoyle World Council.   Kirstie, Tori and Brianna were raised in the same rookery.   Kirstie is the daughter of Quade and Rachel.   Kirstie is the fastest flyer in the group and has a very flirtatious, light-hearted spirit.   When she meets Caspian and Michael from the London clan, she's in heaven!   As part of an agreement with the London Clan, some of the London clan' unmated mates relocated to Scotland and Lance from the London clan led in Kirstie's favors until the battle with the Unseelie where he died from his injuries defending the clan caves.   Kirstie was broken-hearted and hasn't made a choice between her remaining suitors.   Reg, another member of the London clan, has made it clear that he is willing to wait until she is ready for him to court her.

Tori

Tori is Curran's daughter.   Kirstie, Tori and Brianna were raised in the same rookery.   Tori is, like her father, quiet and aggressive, possibly due to the loss of her mother when she was only a hatchling.   Like her sister, Kirstie, Tori was pleased when suitable young males arrived from London to court them.   She is looking for a partner to equal her in strength, skill and cunning, not for a pretty face.   When Cervus visited in "On Holiday", he was impressed enough with Tori to remain behind for the rest of the summer, although he claimed it was so he could bring Dorcas back to her rookery at the end of the summer.   Tori is flattered but is still making up her mind about Cervus.

Brianna

Kirstie, Tori and Brianna were raised in the same rookery.   Brianna won Griff's heart by her own innate graciousness and he took her as his mate.   She moved to London with him and has adapted remarkably well, considering that her clan is highly xenophobic and distrusting of humans.

Pip

As part of negotiations hinted at in "My Lady Fair", the London Clan sent a party of unmated males to supplement the dwindling ranks of the Caledonian clan and Pip is one of them.   Pip is one of Caspian's rookery brothers.   resembles a grey cat with a stump of a tail thanks to a mishap in childhood.   Wears shorts and a dapper vest.   Tends to be upbeat and cheerful and craves gossip from home.

Reg

As part of negotiations hinted at in "My Lady Fair", the London Clan sent a party of unmated males to supplement the dwindling ranks of the Caledonian clan and Reg is one of them.   Reg is Caspian's rookery brothers.   boar-headed gargoyle, most likely related to the late second in command, Aper, who was killed in the battle with the Unseelie.   He wears a traditional loincloth to fit in with the other Caledonians but has a pocket bandolier criss-crossing his chest, primarily to carry tools and supplies.   He trained as a mechanic and handyman to do tasks around the Marter estate, but has not had much call for his skills living in the forest.   He keeps an eye out for discarded technology and tinkers with it.   He has a soft spot for Kirstie and has been looking out for her since Lance's death, waiting for the right moment to make his play for her.

Remus

As part of negotiations hinted at in "My Lady Fair", the London Clan sent a party of unmated males to supplement the dwindling ranks of the Caledonian clan and Remus is one of them.   Remus is older than Reg and Pip.   a fox-headed widower and the father of impetuous Dorcas, a spoiled marmalade cat of a garg girl.   They have a falling out when Remus moves to Scotland but they come to an understanding in "On Holiday."   Thereafter, Dorcas spends the summers with Remus in Caledonia, honing her hunting skills.

Tiberius

As part of negotiations hinted at in "My Lady Fair", the London Clan sent a party of unmated males to supplement the dwindling ranks of the Caledonian clan and Tiberius is one of them.   Tiberius is older than Reg and Pip.   grey wolf-headed gargoyle who was sent primarily to look after Kylie's health.   He trained with Amanda, the London healer, and was serving as a healer in his own right when Michael asked him to go to Caledonia.   In addition to traditional healing lore, Tiberius is among the first gargoyles to take advantage of human medical training via home schooling and the Internet and has a keen scientific mind.   He sees life in Caledonia as a way to challenge his skills.   He traveled with Kylie to the 1st Gargoyle World Council.
